Review Azad Hind Dhaba - Howrah

SAYAN CHATTERJEE
This is a brand which has chain restaurants all over the state. This particular restaurant is situated by the NH6 adjacent to the Bharat Petroleum plant. They offer a multi-cuisine experience starting from North Indian (specially Punjabi), Bengali and Chinese dishes. They have sitting arrangements at both AC and non AC areas. We had tea, fish fingers, egg hakka noodles, sarso da shak and makki di roti, alu paratha. Among these the tea was really good and alu paratha was also good. The shak fails to meet expectations. Since, some of the express buses stop by this outlet, at times this restaurant becomes very busy and service or attention from the staff members can be an issue. There are very few restaurants of this category near Uluberia area and hence, it is a favourite place for many of them who are travelers or work in this industrial area.
Basant Bera
This is a Brand Restaurant Chain popular for it's Punjabi and North Indian delicacies. This restaurant is not that much easily spotting from Mumbai Highway though it's just on roadside. Adjacent to Uluberia Bharat Petroleum Pump, this place is very neat and clean and offers both open air outside seating as well as AC seating. This place have parking facilities, restaurant is enough spacious and not too crowded generally. This place offers all day breakfast, lunch and dinners also in pocket friendly prices. Service here is faster than many popular restaurants in Kolaghat. Washrooms are also near and clean. Must try dhaba style food here.

Azaad Hind Dhaba Hotel offers a delightful culinary experience with its authentic Indian flavors. The warm and inviting ambiance complements the rich aroma of spices in their dishes. The extensive menu caters to diverse palates, showcasing a range of delectable vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The attentive staff adds a touch of hospitality to the dining experience. While the decor may be simple, the focus on flavors makes Azaad Hind Dhaba a worthwhile stop for those craving genuine Indian cuisine.
Samrat Guha
The food doesn't quite hit the mark – limited variety, and it's a bit pricey. The ambiance is decent, but I wouldn't suggest this place for a meal.

Tasty food and surrounding is neat and clean. Basically kolkata to bhubaneswar buses are halt here for sometime for dinner and lunch. If you go there then try some flavoured soda....soda masala is good here

Azad Hind Dhaba presents an authentic roadside dining experience with its North Indian fare. The casual atmosphere and affordable prices attract both locals and travelers. The menu offers a variety of flavorful dishes, especially popular for their kebabs and curries. However, the basic seating and occasional service delays might be drawbacks for some. If you're in the mood for hearty Punjabi cuisine and don't mind the no-frills setting, Azad Hind Dhaba can satisfy your cravings and offer a taste of traditional flavors without breaking the bank.

While coming from Kolkota to Bhubaneswar we had our dinner here. The food was okay. We (2 people) had 4 tandoori rotis, 1 chicken do pyaza(which was not actually), 1 egg bhurji. The taste was okay and price is reasonable. We paid RS. 348/-. They have gents and ladies toilets.

A great place to chill out with frnds n' family at Uluberia... It falls on the left side of the road when going towards Kolaghat/Digha/Mandarmani. Food is good... There's both option of open air dining & AC dining. We had ordered Butter naan, Mutton keema matar, Mutton handi, Alu Paratha, fresh lime soda, kullar chaai. Except for the fresh lime soda....all of them were nice

First and foremost, as the name goes, 'Azad' hind dhaba is full of free space and breezy environment. Just next to the BPCL petrol pump, and near to the highway in Uluberia. Pros: - hygienic environment - very fast service - quality food - variety in menu - open space - outdoor free smoke area - pet friendly - clean toilets - ample free parking space - ample space for kids

Decent food but service is slow especially early in the morning. The ambience and atmosphere is good though.

Went to have Biriyani and Chicken Side dish along with cool drinks. Quality and Quantity wise this outlet was superb and unmatched. Much recommended and a must go for Riders/Drivers. Shikanji was not available and had to contend with masala one. Also Kasa was ordered which came as with-bone format. Very much pocket friendly and the atmosphere was really good for foodies over the weekend. Much appreciated

This outlet is loacted near Uluberia. The place is really big and travellers can have food and relax here. They have a seating ambience outside and also an air conditioned ambience. The decor is very okayish and not at all appealing. The food was not that good. We had ordered makke di roti and sarso da saag. It didn't taste well. Not recommended.

I visited this place recently with a bunch of my friends and I had a wonderful time there. We tried their malai cha, fish finger, chicken reshmi kebab and malai kebabs, all of which are amazing in taste. If you're going somewhere by car, I'd highly recommend you to stop by this place for great food and washroom breaks too.

Simply it's the best experience of my life and trust me when I say this but it was totally unplanned. Me and my friend on a sunny day decided to take our new scooter for a highway ride and the first place that came to our minds was Kolaghat (well everyone from Kolkata knows the reason). While cruising in the highway we stopped for fuel and guess what we found, Azad Hind. The place is so beautiful it's hard to describe. This is the real example of a pure highway side dhaba with everything you can imagine. A huge parking space, beautiful view of highway, great seating options facing highway (both ac and non-ac) and last but not the least the food itself. The food was mind blowing, there are no words to describe the food. We ordered
1. Masala Kulcha - 5000/5 (heavenly taste)
2. Mutton Rogan Josh - 5/5 (bit oily)
3. Chicken Do Piyaja - 5/5 (must try)
4. Lassi - 5/5 (it's compulsory)

This particular outlet is a must try for everyone out there who are looking for a quality time in a short drive away from the concrete jungle. Trust me when I say this it's worth every penny you spent and it will be a great memory to look back.

This outlet of Azad Hind Dhaba can be termed as best long drive place from kolkata. Long Drive & this place have some extraordinary combination. From breakfast to dinner whenever you feel grab your automobile key & just visit this place. It's open 24 hours but items availability varies from time to time.

It is located on the kona expressway (Delhi Road), in the route of Durgapur/ Bardhaman. Road is excellent so just drive safe you will reach here. Ample car/Bike parking space available.

Ambience is very ordinary with outdoor & indoor seating facility. Outdoor seating is very limited & indoor is divided into 2 portions A.C. & Non A.C. Food prices are higher for A.C. section.

In food & Drinks I ordered -

1. Aloo Paratha
2. Onion Paratha
3. Masala Dosa
4. Aloo Do payaza
5. Black Tea

The parathas are made in highway style. It's roasted not fried & tastes good with butter over it. It's little dry so ordere aloo do payaza which was great but little sweet. Masala dosa was also good but the aloo stuffing inside it was sweet, it's served with sambhar & coconut chutney. Black tea was really excellent.

So go once & experience it. Hope you will enjoy it. Prices are moderate so it won't hit your pocket much but quality is on the downside according to price. For long drives recommended.
The best part of this restaurant is it's open 24/7
In such a remote area this is the one place which can be a savior to ur life at night... Food was tasty and best place 👌

Long drives and weekend getaways are incomplete without good food!!

As we embarked on our drive this sultry monsoon morning, the first thing in our mind was Breakfast. Tapping in our destination into the GPS, a search for eateries on the route and after 5mins of discussing and mulling over the options, we settled on Azad Hind Dhaba. Located just beside a petrol pump, right after the Uluberia crossing, the place turned out to be pretty quaint....and popular.

Ample car parking space, neat and clean seating area both outside and inside (AC), the guard outside who greeted us cheerfully and politely opened the car door for me. Extensive menu, quick service and good quality food...all that we love!

- Puri Sabzi: Four huge....absolutely huge puffed puris with a big dish of Aloo sabzi. The sabzi was non-oily and delicious.

- Idly: Two big idlys in a plate served with bowlfuls of Sambar and Chutney. The idlys were very soft and fluffy. The sambar daal had ample veggies in it. The chutney was thick and good with a hint of chilli in it.

- Chai: The typical dhaba style 'bhaar er cha' .

By the looks of the quantities and sizes (I caught a glimpse of a Dosa served to another table) size definitely mattered in this dhaba at quite a reasonable price!!
It was my first visit here. I ordered a tandur ruti..a chicken kassa. The meal was splendid. At the end I also ordered tea.
The service was good...staffs were also good.
It was nice experience.

Hopefully I will again visit it and next time I will make a vlog.

Visited here for the first time during our long drive - on our way to Mandarmani.Ordered -My favourite North Indian Staple Breakfast - stuffed Paneer and Aloo Parathas served with pickle and yoghurt - very soft and super delicious.Kashmiri Aloo Dum as bit on a sweeter side. Didnt enjoy much.
Rates are very very reasonable.

Heard a lot about this place but after visiting there myself i feel this place is a bit overhyped. People travel down all the way down from Kolkata just to stop here and have lunch/dinner is just not worth it!! But then if u want to go for a long drive and have some food on the way..then this is perhaps the best option you have.

An open air restaurant (they now have a small ac area though, which was an add-on later) with a huge parking place, and its between Uluberia and Bagnan.. on the high way. No decor as such. The menu has items enough to enjoy some meal while on the go. That won't affect you. Prices are a bit on the higher side though. Had dosa, puri sabjia, alu parantha, chana masala. Taste is okay... nothing great. The quantity is fine.
Subhankar Adhikary
I was on a road trip and my bike lags On NH-6 and there I found this restaurant and to satisfy my hungry stomach checked in this place to have some chicken Biriyani..The Biriyani tastes like average with expensive price tag though the location and ambience covered up the pocket disaster!

Visited Ulberia for some office work.
This dhaba is just 1 km away from Ulberia road towards Kolaghat, just beside a petrol pump.
Ambience is just like road side dhaba, and food is very nice and not so pricy also .
Aloo paratha with butter was very much butterish and palak paneer and matar paneer was tasty.
The best was fried baby corn.
Will visit soon again.
Nice place to hang with friends....

went in the morning in the chilly weather. it's right on the highway. we ordered masala kulchas, veg jhalfrezi, paneer shahi, gobi paranthas. all the food was amazing. service was also prompt i wud say given the time we went at 8 in the morning. 1 marks deducted for hygiene
Banasree Nath
The worst experience ever.. From food service to waiter everything was very very bad. The utensils were not properly cleaned not even a glass of water.. we left without ordering a single menu just tea... The price was very high compared to the food quality . Some menus are never even served which was also in the menu card.. don't go..
Pritam Bhowmick
The ambience is fabulous and homely. The Tea is simply a delight. So are the kachoris. However the kachoris seemed to be a bit overpriced @ 20 each.
Mayank Ray
We went there during our ride to Asansol. No doubt after 3 hours of hectic ride. We had to have something to eat and hence decided to stop at the Dhaba. We ordered Kachori and Chole Masala. And lassi at the end. The food quality was good but we had to compromise with the taste of Kachori as it was made up of Normal Ata. Ambience is not that appealing . But service is fast. Unfortunately I dont have any photos of the place.

While returning from a long bike ride frm Kolaghat, we thought of exploring our taste buds in this place cz we heard a lot about ds dhaba..
So this place is just beside a huge petrol pump and u really nid to kip an eye on d side of d road cz if d place is unknwn to u, u cn easily skip it..
The area is huge, having d facility of car n bike parking.. there is also a children playing area just opposite d dhaba..
The staff ws really cooperative n attentive. he took d que of our order as we wanted..
So we ordered CHA, TANDOORI ROTI & MUTTON KEEMA MATTAR...
Coming to d taste, it was average... we couldn't undrstnd wat d hype was about d place bt d quality of food was nothing so special compared to price..
D foods r really over priced here n its only good if u r halting here to hv breakfst or snacks.. othrwise d place is jst a waste of money...
Really dissapointed..! Stale food. Chicken Bharta was smelling. Egg tadka was the worst I ever had. Never ever coming here. Not recommended at all. This place used to serve better food earlier.

Recently stepped in to this place while travelling to Durgapur.
I had the Aloo Parantha which they offer.
Only Aloo Parantha is served with Achaar(pickle) as complimentary. I was really disappointed with their quality of food they serve.
Tanmoy Saadhak Chakroborty
Quality decreasing day by day.last time had a very bad quality of tea & food.service was good.but food quality not up to the mark.parking available.

This Ulluberia outlet of Azad Hind Dhaba is a good visit in the winter season. The open setting is a nice change, but it lacks in quality. The staff is very reasonable and made us feel hospitable. But taste wise everything was just average. Moreover there were too many mosquitoes. We had ordered paneer tikka, tandoori aloo, cheese Nan, Black Dal, aloo piaza, and paneer butter masala. Nothing is outstanding nor bad, just OK types. Costing is around 500/head.
Umika Diaries Souvik
This place in near Kolaghat and a must stop destination for breakfast. We had ordered aloo paratha , puri sabzi and tea. The aloo paratha was huge and it easily suffices 2 persons. The food overall is good.

It is one of the best place of mine since my college days. If you are on a long drive, it's the appropriate one for having some snacks and food. I used to visit very often. Yesterday, we went for a drive near kolaghat and we got down for having dinner. The hariali kebab was the best part and the sadest part was tandoori chicken (no taste). In main course we ordered for chicken Hakka noodles, tandoori roti, naan, egg tarka and chicken butter masala. Every items were just too good, except the chicken butter masala. It comes with shredded type and tasted bad but other items like naan, tarka acted as a filler. Services & ambiance were upto the mark.

Lunch outing done good. Thanks to Azad Hind Dhaba for not disappointing us. Great food as usual and the drive from Kolkata was worth every bit of it. It is snugged right beside a huge petrol pump, complete with a small children park, toilets and a garden. It has both outdoor as well as air conditioned seating spaces to serve all types of customers. The staff is good and very prompt. Given the fact that today was the independence day, the staff was very fast and we got our dishes served just like another day. Food quality is great.

Chicken served in Veg Aloo Do Piaza....Communalism at its paramount...ordered for 2nd dish of Aloo Do Piaza...served unfried...reserved with chicken pieces in the Veg Aloo Do Piaza... its serious crime...
Snehangshu Majumder
Chicken served in Vegetarian Dish

Chicken is served with "Aloo Do Peyaja". Before ordering for the same, it was confirmed by the waiter that the item is purely vegetarian and it is cooked in separate utensils on which they never cook any non-vegetarian foods. Even after that we found two pieces of chicken in that vegetarian dish. One of our companions started feeling unwell after seeing that. It also hurts his religious feeling.

Extremely disappointed with this outlet.

please think.before you go there.

1. you will not get time to.talk with your family or friends with whom you have gone. the waiter comes every 2 minutes for order even before you finish a plate of starters.
2. very rude staff.
3. awful chicken bharta and tarka.tandoori roti is so thick.

only good thing parking isnt a problem.

suggestion: 1.
ask the route for kolkata along the service road before leaving the place.
Hopped by today, taking a break from an unplanned road trip. We had ordered some typical Dhaba food- sweetened lassi, butter naan, tandoori roti, egg tadka, and chicken bharta. The breads tasted decent and the sides, though apparently looked small in portion, was quite wholesome when we tried to gulp it down. The only weird thing was they refused to accept cards even for a substantial bill. Our bill came as Rs.795 and thankfully there was an atm nearby but it was an unnecessary hassle that we had to go through. They didn't have a valid reason for not accepting cards and were fumbling when asked, probably trying to evade taxes, I don't know. All in all, the place provides good food but they need to employ more professional staff and solve the card issue.

Went for a Sunday morning paratha ride.
Open Highways and parathas are like match made in heaven...
Tried their ALU paratha: Deepfried Paratha with sumptuous stuffing of alu, masala and coriender served with 2 types of chatni and aluka sabzi taste heavenly after riding for 1 hr in chilled winter morning.

I have visited this place manytime while returning from Mandarmoni they serve some awesome Tandori dishes, and they have a awesome spread of veg Tandori dishes.

Among Tandoris one can try
1.Chesse Kabab
2.Murg Tandori
3.Mushroom Tandori
4.chicken tikka Kabab

A perfect place to stop and have something when u r on a long drive along the Kona expressway. Foods are good and the surrounding area is beautifully decorated. The children can enjoy the swing where the seniors can take a stroll along the garden area. Bothering will be however the mosquitoes and it can be quite a nuisance. To tackle it u may opt for their AC restaurant. Loved their fish Tikka and chicken Malai

Went for dinner last night.. Spacious seating comprising of both indoors and outdoors..we had ordered for naan, chicken butter masala, chicken do pyaza, chicken kadhai, baby corn rice.. I was totally amazed by the huge sized naan..and the overall food as good..but I think there portions of gravy should be increased..super fast service is an add on.

Located in Kolaghat on the Kona Expressway, this outlet is spacious and one of the best joints to stop by for food and drinks.
This highway halt is divided between sections for snacks, dinner and bar.
We stopped here on the way back to Kolkata from mandarmoni and were surprised to see it full house.

Ordered for chai which was delicious!
The samosa was made in ghee and tasted wonderful!!
The pyaazi was delicious and I was left craving for more!

Service was good and overall prices are great!
LOCATION: A destination for foodies in d highway!Next to BPCL petrol pump in d Kona Expressway in Uluberia! PLACE and AMBIANCE: Definitely it's a restaurant & not an actual dhaba! But nyc place being located in d highway!!!! FOOD: Well dz tym I took North Indian & Chinese both!Starting with d Chicken hot&sour Soup! D Soup was not good with too much chilly slices!Coming to d starter tandoori chicken which was good!Being hungry I forgot to click d pic of it!😀Next coming to main course I took chilli chicken and mutton handi! Both d dishes were really nyc!D Chicken was soft and succulent & d mutton preparation was also good but d mutton was oily which I didnt lyk! After dat came d turn of staple/side where I opted for mixed fried rice & naan! D rice was good and d naan was even good. For mutton I took d onion salad! Lastly had sweet lime soda which was very nyc with everything equally proportionate in it!!! SERVICE:Quick enough though there was a crowd present in d aftrnun!!! HOSPITALITY: The person who served was polite enough! FINAL VERDICTS: A place definitely worth visiting in d highway!!!I m giving 4 cuz it's located in d highway!Else wud hve scored a bit less anyways Cheers!

A foodie's highway ventures would be rather drab and incomplete without a lip-smackingly delicious man sized meal at this Dhaba. The NH6 wanderers are blessed to have this one located next to the BPCL petrol pump at Uluberia.

A cold winter night was a perfect excuse to indulge in some of the best kebabs in town. The savoury odour set my mouth watering long before the tables were even set. The Chicken Tangri and Chicken Malai Tikka stole the limelight with their enticing flavours along with the flavoursome Tandoori which was a pure treat to the tastebuds.
Next on the list were some gravy dishes. Chicken again. The Reshmi Butter Masala and Tikka Butter Masala had big juicy pieces of meat but I thought the gravy could have been a notch better. Ample amount of cream and butter was commendable.
The Veg Butter Masala was also well made.

The ambience was pleasant and the service was excellent. Polite and efficient stuff working round the clock didn't fail to take quick orders and make the experience a perfect one!
Places like these make your rides memorable. Definitely dropping in here everytime I hit those roads again!

Far from home to the country side. The Dhaba ambience is the best for Indo people after a long drive in the highway. The food was sooooooooo yummy. The service was also good. The place is nicely decorated. But the only flaw is bee. Please do something to this.
The Offbeat Collections
Sometimes my uncle parcels spl butter kaju tadka and roomali roti from there and it's awesome. It's so buttery, creamy and as well as spicy too that I think a few dhabas in howrah are able to create a taste this. Never tried anything else so can't comment on that.

When u go for a long drive it's a well known dhaba of Kolkata surroundings. They hv both AC and open dinning place. Food is also good. My fav is mutton handi roganjosh, Spl Dal makhni..

Went there a long time ago with my family..ordered for fried rice, sahi paneer, chicken schezwan..the items were good..better than other branches

the AC is sad. v sad. that's the biggest turn off for summers, which is so for the majority of the year. in winters however, the outdoor seating is charming. usually not very crowded, large seating area, ample parking, calm surrounding are the pros. food and service are good and as expected from dhabas.

Nice and quick service.. The mouth watering , variety of paranthas are the things that will make you rem this place for a very really long time ..
Good service and cheap . Value for money

Our long drives are incomplete without an early morning or evening stop at this outlet. The place is huge with an open, and an AC seating area. Their is a children's park adjoining the restaurant. The steaming hot paneer parathas and the aloo parathas are the best to order here. Accompanied with some milk tea. The prices are quite reasonable and they accept cards.

Azad Hind Dhaba as a brand is very well known to everyone and this one is way too different than other branches.

##Location: Located at the Kona Express highway on the Delhi road side. It's not easy to locate as it's just behind a Bharat petroleum petrol pump just after you cross the CCD on the way.

##Experience:
On a recent visit to this place on a weekday afternoon while being here for a long drive we decided to have a stop over here for lunch at this place.

Ordered :
Chicken Tandoori: Soft juicy and perfect taste
Chicken Reshmi Kebab: Though the pieces are not huge but its decent and moderate but the taste is amazing. Simply tasty

Kaju kismis Pulao: Fully loaded with Cashew and Kismis .
Tandoori Alu Paratha: Highly recommend this as it was soft and has solid stuffing inside.
Chicken tikka Masala: Delicious
Kadai Chicken Boneless: With added onion and capsicum this dish is made with shredded chicken. Creamy and tasty

##Service: They just bowled me over with the kind of service offered me here. Very well behaved and quick with the work definitely demands for a highly recommended place if you plan to be in this area. Cheers !!

Its at a distance of about 65 Kms from Kolkata. The Bharat Petroleum Fuel Station houses this Azad Hind Dhaba.
Its not prominently placed on the Highway. Keep slow, as its certain to miss it out 'coz of many lorries parked around, next to the Fuel Station.
It has got two sections, one being air conditioned and the another with a high shed. For the AC part you need to shell off a bit more.
Ordered for Tandoori Chicken, Paneer Tikka for starters and Tandoori Roti, Chicken Tikka Butter Masala, Aalo Paratha and Paneer Pulav as main course. Had heard a lot about, but frankly speaking the food didn't strike a chord nor did the service.
Pricing was moderate with a few basic facilities for long drive folks.

Overall, its on an accessible distance for a short weekend drive to relax your senses and crave for drive !!

An obvious halt while driving the Kona expressway is this dhaba, they have different outlets which are far superior in ambience, but this place is a must for us while travelling Kona expressway, they have a good parking space and a small park inside it's premises, there are Ac as well as non ac sections, the ambience is not like a dhaba neither like a restaurant, but nevertheless the food here is very tasty, less in quantity but high in quality,we had ordered chicken butter masala, tandoori malai chicken, chiken dopiyaza, chiken bharta, crispy babycorn, jeera rice, tandoori roti and butter naan, tandoori roti was a disappointment,it was a papad not roti,we had to help our self with naan and jeera rice, sad but true, and yes do carry cash because many a times there edc machine does not work.

A Roadside Dhaba On Kona Expressway, Azad Hind Dhaba, Is A Great Eatery Outlet For People Travelling Outside Of Kolkata.
As In My Case, We Were Travelling To Mandarmani
And We Stopped Here For Our Luncheon.
With Huge Parking Space, A Park Beside It For Children And Usually Less Crowded, This Dhaba Is Perfect For Drive-In.
We Were A Huge Group Of About Nineteen People And Ordered Chicken Butter Masala, Chicken Bharta, Chicken Do Piaza, Butter Naan, Makke Di Roti, Chicken Biryani, Jeera Pulao.
The Service Was Very Fast And They Also Made Food In The Way We Wanted It To Be. So If You Want Some Extra Fats You Can Ask For It. And Don't Forget To Slip In The Mishti Paan, They Were Really Fantastic.
With Indoor And Outdoor Dining And Good View This Place Was Really Good.

Azad Hind Dhaba is a well-known spot on the Kona Exp Way. It's roughly 30 km from Kolkata and thus makes it one of the apt location for weekend drive away hotspot for Kolkata car and bike owners.

This place is huge with an in-house garden and a great view and provides both indoor and outdoor dining facility. They have clean wash rooms and shower rooms.

The food is hygienic and normally a bit bland, so that you don't feel sick on the road, as it's mainly for long distance travelers, but if you tell them they will spice it up for you.The food is good and the portions are huge, but stick to the basics while placing your order.

If you have the time and knowledge, you can tell the waiter about your personal food preferences and can instruct him on how to prepare it.

Our lunch stopover during a monsoon day long drive. The eatery has the perfect dhaba ambiance. Huge parking space, lawn for kids and space to stretch your legs.
On a monsoon weather or during winter sitting at open area is recommended to soak the environment. Food here is average considering some of the items are good while some can be avoided next time.

In starters must try Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Chili Chicken and Crispy Babycorn. Chicken Tikka Kebab was okay. However fish items like Fish Tikka and Fish Finger was a mediocre. Chicken Tandoori was dry but not succulent like some other NH dhabas.
In main course Chicken Bharta with steamy soft naan was a bliss. Mutton Handi Rogan Josh with Jeera Pulao can be enjoyed to the fullest. Chicken Egg Tadka was very dry.

Don't miss to bite Misti Paan at the counter outside. Alcohol is strictly prohibited here and not allowed to bring from outside. They do accept payments by cards here. Improvement required in dessert menu, tutti frutti should be there in the menu. Don't expect any smooth service here one need to chase to get attention of servers.

Happy n safe driving, enjoy hogging.

I'm a biker so every now and then when I go out for a ride, this is my favourite place to give a halt. First of all you should hav the alo ka paratha and then anything with it but remember they don't accept any cards and that's the bad side. But the foods bare great so when yiu have money go n full your tummy

Be it a long drive stopover, or when your just in a mood to drive war and come back this is famous among all people from this city. This place is always busy but it's huge. One open dining, a family dining and a bar. The food is decent here, the parathas and tandoori Chicken is tasty here. I tried the peas pulao and paneer butter Masala which was nice too. The sevice is super quick :)

A perfect excuse to go out on a drive to have your meal! Located by the Kona highway, this is surely an offbeat location but manages to serve decent food altogether. A popular place to have your meals on your way to Digha or Mandarmoni, some of their most decorated items are Alu Paratha, Tandoori Chicken and Makke De Roti/Sarson da Saag.

The quality here isn't anywhere mindblowing, but the food gives you an authentic Punjabi feeling. The people serving here are usually busy and hence it takes quite a lot of patience to deal with them. Pricewise, this isn't cheap, but you get an off-the-beat feeling of a location, not easily found elsewhere.

The compulsory stop over for a relaxed lunch or the ultimate destination for a long drive..this place is located next to a petrol pump and is very easy to miss if you are not attentive(we missed it too)..!! But this place is an absolute delight..
I have tasted makkei de roti and sarson da saag for the first time in this place..a journey seems incomplete without their alu ka paranthas which are absolutely delicious..lovely food and lovely place....Saurabh Dasgupta

Beautiful location with the highway running beside. Authentic Punjabi setup with excellent service and food. The location adds to the fun. Visiting with big groups adds to the fun. Huge menu is a treat for veg and non veg eaters. Car parking ample with a gas station to reload is the just wow.

In Uluberia, beside the HP petrol Pump

The place has both interior and exterior seating but its best to sit in the exterior which is one of the few hygienic exterior seatings.

The place is knwon for good highway food and a real good and classy dhaba experience.

The butter naan is a must try and so is the saag chicken and the kebabs.

Hop in and have fun.

Two drawbakcs are the restrooms and the cost being high.

A busy popular dhaba at kona , specializing in punjabi food. Halted here between our trip to tajpur , on the day of holi. We had
Plain dosa
Aloo paratha
Garlic naan
Malai kofta
Poached eggs
Milk tea.
I loved the paratha naan n kofta. Service was pretty fast and the experience of having breakfast at a road side dhaba was really enjoyable.

Authentic Punjabi food...... But plzzzzzz never try their biriyani. One of the worst biriyani. But awesome kebabs.........................,...

Food quality still pretty good... But, I wasn't able to order a masala omelet for some trivial reason... Service needs attention... Otherwise, still pretty good...

Well the place is ok enough to go. The food served is okay enough to eat. Well but the place is famous because it give you a long ride of around 50km to reach from kolkata and the price is pocket friendly. But the major attraction is that the kids love to see tge super cars and bikes that come there.over all the place is good serving good nonveg food.

A better azad hind dhaba compare to other azad hind dhaba specially tha salt Lake sec v branch..
If u have went for a long drive on a highway it's one of the fine dhaba on the highway were u can grab some tandoor items and north indian dish

If you are looking for a joint on a drive it might be the right place to take a break.placed beside the highway,it proved good somehow with a considerably proper food to fill ourselves up in the long drive..turned up refreshing

A lot was heard about this place near kolaghat. .but it isn't upto the mark...neither the view nor the food and ambience

There are quite a reputed restaurant in the city serving better quality and lower prices..its futile to travel so far..

But yes if u are on the way and want some decent quality then this is a good place

This Azad Hind Dhaba outlet is located at NH-6 on the way to Kharagpur about 65+ Km from Kolkata and about 20 Km before Kolaghat. The place is huge with a large seating space with both air-conditioning and without it. I've been to this joint many times and it is a perfect place for a weekend hangout away from the hustle of the city crowd. Can be a good destination for dates or a family or office group outing too.

The open place is the attraction here with many tables aligned spaciously and can seat more than 100+ at a time. The food is as good as any of their other outlets and the service seemed prompt to me. They have good parking space and a play area for kids.

Best for tourers on the way. Can fill you car or bike and satisfy the hunger for great north Indian cuisines at the same time.

We stopped for breakfast on a Saturday. Ordered simple roti, tadka, and Alu paratha. Though food were good, the waiting time was too long. It seems it didn't have adequate staff and cooks. We were late eventually to reach our destination. They need to improve if want to be in competition with other dhaba, specially sher e punjab.

Long drive and a stop over at AHD is well warranted. Slightly off the main route, but the directions guide you well, off theCalcutaa -Bombay highway.
Try for the typical dhaba cuisine and nothing fancy, if you wanna get The feel of The place. The delightful tarka roti will bowl you over. Ofcourse The spread is large.
Good restrooms, for the travelers looking for a break. That's a boon in bengal, right?

If you are lookin for a pleasant long drive this is the place to visit. This place serves good food and pricing is moderate. A good modern dhaba culture to experience

If you are searching for a typical highway side dhaba, where you can enjoy hot, delicious and cheap tadka, butter roti and other stuffs, then it's not the place. Rather it would be a perfect pick if you are searching for a safer place to eat with your family or friends. No doubt decent place, they have outdoor, indoor ac and garden seats as well. Good place for a loo break.

I have tasted few items over there, allu paratha, butter roti, chicken kasha, chicken chowmin. Food is ok, a bit more oily(buttery). But not worth the price. They don't serve curd with alu paratha! And I had to buy a full plate of curd! Tea is very good over there. Service is just ok.
For starters the Tangri Kebab was fabulous but the Chicken Butter Masala was horrendous. Please look into this, tomato overload on this dish just kills it.
Total came to 650/- for 2 people.

Although the ride there and back was absolutely brilliant, even during this puja season.

Dis dhabi is arnd 90+ kms away from the plce i reside.. locatd on nh6 highway , the plce is gutan (I'm nt sure though) ..its a roadside dhaba..the ambience is cool.. well maintnd n pretty chillin air conditnd !
After a highway ride... yu need to pamper yourslf a bit! Stuff urslf wth sme good yummies n stay charged up fr anothr heck kms.. :D
Good food... !! Is a bit high chrgd compared to the other roadside highway dhabas.. not really a 'aam janta dhaba' ...
Yu will gt a good servce ..
Have been to azad hind dhaba no. of times and food has been good every time but today we were a bit dissapointed with the fish tikka and reshmi kebab and the chicken tikka. For the main course we had ordered dal makhani which was very good and both the garlic and cheese naan’s were really good however the mutton do piaza was ok- ok although the mutton was very soft.
Food today was average maybe because it was a weekday and there weren't many people but i’d definately give them another chance.

I was here with ma family around the month of Feb, when we stopped for lunch on our way back to kolkata. what I like about this place is that its quite spacious and have the standard crowd and its usually not the typical Dhaba type. So I will give fair marks for the ambiance. Ok now lets come to the food part I remember eating a wide array of food starting with Afghani kebab than Green Salad, Makki di Roti & sarson saag, butter Missi roti,Basmati steam rice, mixed veg, spcl butter dal tadka & kadai chicken and finally ending with my fav special chai which was served in the mud pot and i really liked it . No doubt food was good but compare to the prices I felt its little too expensive as per the standard of the food but since Its on the high way and the place is nicely done I guess its ok as one doesn't go there everyday. Recommendation should try at least for once. I loved Makki di roti served with desi ghee sarson saag (which I usually don't get here ) you can also try out butter missi roti

I have been to this dhaba on many occasions, one such being a 31st night. But on every occasion the dhaba is always full. At one instance I remember we had our dinner sitting in car, as there was no table available. But the place is loosing its uniqueness. The quality of food and service has deteriorated a lot. Price has increased though. Also if you get some food packed you'll see eventually the quality and quantity is worse in it.

As of today I would suggest to go some more distance and have a much better dhaba type food at Kolaghat, Sher e Punjab or Azad Hind/Hindusthan dhaba on Durgapur Expressway.

Being joint made approx 40kms out of Kolkata on the Mumbai Highway ( NH6 ) is a great place to visit with friends and family. The joint offers the best of North Indian cuisine at a minimal pricing with a Rusty Rural Ambiance. The Parathas here are just amazing. The place has a garden which allows to take hookah. A Sunday Morning drive to this place for Breakfast is Recommended !!

Was a great experience to visit such a place. Ambience was very good. The service was fast and I loved the food a lot. And after paying your bill you'll also be surprised by looking at your car which will shine like a star. A very good place for friends to hang out and I must say 'its cheap and the beat'. Worth a penny.
Biswakesh Tripathy
Eventually the place is looseing its charm. I am a regular visitor of this dhaba. but offlate the quality of food and service is not worth the money. The preparation of food is not been monitored by the caretaker of the dhaba and the customer has to suffer.

Went there with my friends on Nabami midnight on the occasion of Durga Puja. I thought we will be the only persons to hang around but for my surprise every table was booked, so, we parked our cars in the near by parking lot and they allowed us to consume liquor there (alcohol is not allowed in the restaurant). by the time we got a table our hunger meter was touching the top mark. We ordered the usual dhaba food like chicken kebabs, tandoori, daal makhni, naan etc. and the taste was awesome because the food was cooked then only. Finally we finished our meal and as we were about to leave the place more customers were rushing in. That was a memorable night out for me with my friends and we really had a great time.
