Review Kamat Hotel Restaurant - Hyderabad

Prince Daiya
Kamat hotel is one of the oldest in town which provide all types of tiffins items and Ala Carte dishes. They provide 2 ambiances for sitting - with AC and without AC. If you are looking for North Indian taste then go for their lunch thali which is limited veg meal with variety of items including soup, biryani, dessert, poori and 3 types of curries with additional white rice. Sufficient for 2 people to enjoy. We even tried rawa masala dosa which was good. Since the hotel is located in the centre of the market so parking space is less, but overall a good place to go along with family

Service is really really good. Food is also good but I didn't find any newness as I have been visiting it from years earlier the taste and the variety of curries was awesome compared to now. Aparty from its South Indian Thali, dosa idle and Vada is quite good.👍😊

We had the most amazing experience at Kamat hotel. We had dinner here and ordered thali. Food was yummy and was served with love and happiness. Would recommend this place if you looking for simple and nice meal.

Traditional and authentic south Indian taste. Quick service and piping hot food, something you don't get to taste with zomato, swiggy etc. Value for money eatery covering most of the south Indian dishes. Other items are also there on the menu but ideally visit this place for its tiffin and breakfast items. Parking is an issue but the location of the restaurant is a major factor for that.

This is an awesome place near lakdikapul. Just near Birla mandir. The food is tasty. The normal thali is enough for a person but they also have an unlimited one for a hundred rupees more. The hotel has valet services which is very important considering the location where the hotel is. It's situated on the main road so this aspect gives peace of mind to people coming in car's. The only downside is I have observed that masks are not properly worn and also tables are closely placed. This doesn't help in our current situation. That's the only reason for me not giving a 5 star.

Eating at this South Indian restaurant was a delightful experience! 😋 I tried the delicious masala dosa, Idli sambar along with a soothing cup of chai. 👍The seating arrangement was nice and the entire restaurant was well-maintained. This place has been a local favorite for years and it's easy to see why. 🍽️🫕🍵

After Shanmuga’s in Colombo, this place in HYD is my second favourite for South Indian food. The variety of South Indian items here is incomparable to any other joint. Keeping aside a regular one, I tend to try different things everytime I visit. A must visit place in HYD.

Kamat Restaurant truly captivates with its fusion of traditional Indian flavors and modern twists. The warm ambiance welcomes diners to a culinary journey that's both visually pleasing and taste bud-tantalizing. The courteous staff enhances the experience, offering helpful recommendations and attentive service. From delectable Paneer Tikka Tacos to flavorful Butter Chicken and innovative Saffron-Infused Crème Brûlée, the menu impresses with its balance of classic and creative dishes. While prices lean towards the higher side, the generous portions and exceptional dining experience make it worth the occasional indulgence. Kamat is a must-visit for those seeking an elevated Indian dining adventure that's sure to leave a lasting impression.

One of the best puri I've ever had. Not too oily not too rubbery. The curry was good. Also had upma which was delicious. Prices are reasonable. Good lighting and space is Hygienic. Order was served within few mins. Staff well behaved, quick to respond. Parking spacious for 2 wheelers. Breakfast Starts at 7 and go on till noon. UPI payments are accepted.

Kamath veg restaurant is one of the best places in hyderabad to enjoy vegetarian foods. I strongly recommend to start a new restaurant near Wipro Circle - Serilimgampally-Nallgandla western suburds of Hyderabad, as lot of IT people are living around this area and is emerging as a new Winner in hyderabad for residential grwoth and new food restaurants

I tried the nampally outlet, they do have one in abids as well opposite to birla mandir. One of the finest and affordable veg restaurants in Hyderabad. We bought their thali, it was quite good. We were staying for 5 days in Hyderabad and always had our lunch from kamat.

This is the best place for vegetarians. The food is not only delicious but the tiffin options are exceptional, with just the right balance of flavours and minimal spices.

Basic place for your meals.

We ordered:

▪Kamat Thali was okayish and filling. Green chilli chutney was really nice.
▪Onion Rava Dosa was yummy with chutney and sambar.
▪Filter Coffee was strong and basic.

FOOD - 3/5
AMBIENCE - 3/5
SERVICE - 4/5
PRICING - 4/5

Taste 4/5
Ambience 3/5
Service 4/5
Value for money 4/5

Kamat has been well know for their varieties of South Indian dishes and guess what we ordered here - South Indian cuisine 😂 Let’s see what all:
1. Medu Wada Sambar - Very crispy and at the same time very oil with super sambar & coconut chutney.
2. Steamed Idly Plate - Very soft and delicious again with the same Sambar & chutney.
3. Kamat Mini Thali - well it was not mini at all, this thaki had 3/4 sabzis, Sambar, 2 chappatis/ pooris, rice & suji halwa.
4. Dahi wada - Extremely tasty and delightful.
5. Veg hakka noodles - it had no taste & it was very light.
6. Gulab Jamun - Nice fresh sweet balls.

Service was quick but the AC family room is damn freezing. The captain switched off the AC on our request once but next time he didn’t even after assuring.

Value for money.

Everything we tried was just perfect and authentic tasting. Went there for breakfast on a rainy day and tried many South Indian dishes and everything came out great. Service was prompt. Must try for breakfast.

Rakshith Prakash
We ordered 4 South Indian meals and the taste was good. Service was quick.
But my only concern here would be regarding the hygiene
Wash rooms need maintenance.
Abhinav Nandan
I have ordered Idly and vada with sambhar and filter coffee.
Idly,Vada,Sambhar and coconut chutney were very tasty.
And filter coffee after a long time I got such good filter coffee.

Though it was my first time but it give me nostalgia feeling seems like they are there from many years.

The best place for north indian to get their favorites vegetarian food in Hyderabad. I suggest every North Indian to visit kamat hotel once.
This is one of the best outlets in Hyderabad for snacks that are tasty, filling and value for money.

After a few meetings and spending hours in the city moving from one end to the other, I asked my trusted cabbie, where I could grab a nice bonda with sambar and I was led directly to Kamats and it surely was a very pleasing experience.

Had the Bonda with Sambar, MLA Pessaretu and my favourite Filter coffee

A place I would surely visit many more times...
Raghav Heda
Food taste is same as it was 4 years back. They never compromise on quality.
Ambiance is the same old fashioned nothing is changed just the Family section has moved from 1st floor to ground floor. Staff is very humble and polite they knows the details and knowledge about food.
The Menu on zomato differs from Original menu in hotel it needs to be updated
Mithilesh Josyabhatla
Thalli visit to kamat best north indian thalli which actually loved eating! South indian thalli was good with starters of soup included in it. At the end of thalli you would be getting a scoop of ice cream
Abhishresth
Good old reliable restaurant. Reminds one of the 90s nostalgia. They have literally not changed anything (some of it is understandable) but you have got to enter the 21st century eventually!

The South Indian breakfast is decently good here. However, the South Indian thali is okay. Nothing too great, just plain old reliable food, that tastes fine. Rasam and the curry can certainly be improved in its taste. The kheer served was decent but too sweet.

I really hope that they at least renovate the wash area. The rest is still fine.

Ordered Kamath thali, Awful food. None of the staple dishes, like Sambar, rasam, veg curry taste anywhere near how they are supposed to.

Cost me Rs97 for the food that is supposed to be worth only Rs 20 at the most. I have had better food on a bandi. Quantity of rice was half what they serve in regular restaurants.

I wish I had seen these reviews before going there.

P. S. I visited this exact same place 2 to 3 times about a year back and the food was great. I guess the empty hotel should have been my first indication that there is something wrong.

Never again!

The food here is good. They have never compromised on food quality and taste. Cost wise also its good. Their thalis are also good.

Food: 4/5

service: 4/5

Ambiance 4/5

Early Checkins, around 7-8PM, try not to prefer South Indian food especially Idli and all (not served hot)...North Thali is a good option for early dinner i would rate 4.5 exclusive for the dish!!!
Overall 2 7 is unfair i can say..3.0 is apt..good service
Prasanna Kanuparthi
Anytime breakfast serving hotel. Their dosas, puri, chole batura, button idly and button wada are few of the dishes which deserve special mention. They serve all North Indian and South Indian but their thalis are more worthy for the price paid. Fresh juices and desserts are always satisfactory and very nicely made. This place serves pure vegetarian and never dissapoint a hungry soul.

Known for its brand,
Been to this place for breakfast,
Ordered masala dosa and Wada followed by coffee,
Everything is good, chutneys and sambar are upto the mark.
Worth a try.

Pathetic!! would be a very soft hearted review for this restaurant. Been there today, probably first customer for the day , ordered a dosa and to our surprise it was served very cold!! Ambiance is pretty bad downstairs with very old furniture, wash basin area not clean and waiter serving water with all the fingers in the glass. I'm surprise that food standard agency is not taking a note on hygiene of this restaurant. I'm sorry but would rate this restaurant very bad and doesn't recommend to anyone. Thanks
Chetna Khetawat
Bad! Really bad! I hate to give such ratings to any restaurant.. but I would equally hate it if anyone I know visits this place. Disappointing and tasteless food. Poor service. Rude waiters. Pathetic coffee. Dirty washroom!! Dont eat the sweets they have to offer. The Mysore Pak was hard like rock gulaab jamun cold and tasteless!!
Shuaib Alam
Average restaurant with average food got a chance to have breakfast in kamat nothing great to tell. Sometime if you don't have a choice you can go to any restaurant
Joydeep Barman
Bad. Really bad. I tried south indian thali from here. Not good. Taste is not up to the mark. Quantity is also less. Overall its bad experience.
Anvesh
Been here for Tiffin had dosa and puri they were just okay but not great. The ambiance is nothing great to speak about. Kamat of this branch needs to improve a lot.

Went with a lot of hope to get delicious south indian food. But was utterly disappointed.
Service was worst. The literally neglected us.
We ordered onion uttappam, pesarattu and dahi wada.
Dahi wada was too salty
Pesarattu had too much green chilies and garlic added to the masala and uttappam was okok.
All in all overpriced restaurant
Jimit Sheth
It was a very highly suggested veg restaurant in nampally but sad to say, totally let down. Rates same or more than Mumbai, taste wasnt that good, service was pathetic. All in all , not satisfied! 2.5 because atleast i got what i was looking for but let down by the taste.
Kunal Nune
The items are overpriced and the taste too is just bad.Everything in their Deluxe Thali tastes alike. No taste at all.No tissues on the table. They don't serve potable water , water in the glasses had filth particles floating in it.No courtesy towards customers and the employees are so reckless. They served a cheap low quality sweet food item made of lots of sugar and unhealthy hydrogenated vegetable oil(Dalda) which they called 'dessert' which is part of their so called delux thali and ice cream was the worst part,at the end they give you a scoop of plain vanilla in ice cream bowls.Overall it sucked.I would go their only if I were dying from hunger = famished literally

As soon as you step in, you feel like you've time traveled in the 90s. Great South Indian food that fits the budget. If you're looking to experience like the 90s and a less expensive breakfast meal comparatively to other top notch veggie restaurants, Kamat is a great pick.

We came across this hotel as we were hungry n our fight was delayed so we reached late Hyderabad.. But hopeFully we got food . The quality was average n rage was average n the service was below average as it was closing time . Try to find better place next time .
Sagarg
If you are looking for quality then its the best I think in this part of hyd. Was on a visit to old city and every time when I m in this part I do like to stop by even for a cup of filter coffee!!
So,so ambience but quality compensates for it. North Indian thali is overpriced but its OK at times.
SYEDFARHAN
The place is nice. Good place for breakfast. Idli, poori, chhotey bhaturey are some items which are served tasty here. Meals are good too. Nice place to have breakfast and lunch.
Hamed Ahmed Jabri
Located in the lane of BSNL iThis place serves pure veg, basically south Indian meals its been both the times when visited during lunch hours Service is a bit slow, you have to waot atleast 15-20 min for the order to reach your table comfortable seating had Masala Dosa which is a normal nothing special about it and vada here is good accompanied with exceptional garlic chutney.
Rizwan M
Was a goto place in the kid years, the masala dosa or the rava dosa is still as good as I can remember the same distinct heavy buttery South Indian experience!

A very simple place . Good food and service . If you are expecting a very posh place , pl don't venture in. We had a pesarettu . The dosa made from green gram a Andhra speciality . Loved the taste. Rates are reasonable

A very bad place to visit when ur hungry..I had meals,it was really very bad..taste less food..Itz just a name KAMAT,but the food here is nt good

Never ever go to this place.....worst hospitality....Kamat hotel is such a reputed brand in Bangalore but here in Hyderabad I never expected that the food will be this worst
Soumya Sen
Never thought this place would be this awesome. It has a huge clientele and is quite old.Decently priced. A popular restaurant for MLAs and MLCs from the nearby Secretariat. Tried the "Kamat Thali" which was the most popular item on the menu.It had puris and two types of dal, sabjis and dahi. They serve rice with this too. The Sabu ka payasam was nice. The onion dosa and pesarattu were authentic. Loved this place.Highly recommended

As I was running late for mumbai..i just got a take away from this place..! I had curd rice and lemon rice. Its fine enough...not that great but decent tummy filler!

I am from Bangalore and I visit this restaurant, to be precise, only this restaurant whenever I come to Hyderabad for business trips or to get my relatives Asthama fish medicine. I appreciate the service and hospitality portrayed by staff and quality of food. It has not changed till day and I suggest this restaurant to maintain up to date cleanliness of premises as it is near to roadside. They have all the variety of food and have their own specialty which will be too good. I once did not feel the quality of ice-cream is up to the mark, apart from that best place to dine out.
Arvind Ramachander ( Fb.com/Sooperclicks )
After nearly 6 years I visited this place.

The speed of service, the quality of food and the ambiance is pretty comforting.
If I really had doubts of where to go without experimenting this is one of the places I will definitely have my eyes on.

Value for money, will not give you a stomach upset and almost all the vegetarian food you could think of is got here.

Must have: Summer special Lassi and Onion Rava Dosa.
Rupesh Kulkarni
good for family... simple, silent, clean
vallet parking
no concerns
Tanzeel Habeebulla
alrt...dey call it to be among the best in the region...i've been to this hotel for about a month now but I still feel the food is not as much as its hyped about...however the waiters are quite pleasing and may make you want to ask for more...i would say just an avg veg point at nampally whr u may wnt to grab a quick meal before u leave....

Ok, I had to catch my train at 10.30pm Nampally . I was staying in Royal Grand hotel which has nothing royal about it. Bad rooms, worst maintenance. We were pacified saying this is one is better than other hotels in the locality. Well, let me come to point. After having spicy Hyd veg biriyani I wanted to eat something less spicy. I found this Kamat hotel via Zomato . I had this image of decent Kamat hotel as in Karnataka and the one at lakdi ka pool in hyderabad. It looks very bad, old and unclean. Service is pathetic . Food not at all like what is at standard Kamats.

Best dine-in restaurant. But does not serves Non-Veg
You can try the TOMATO RICE its the best type of rice served in KAMAT hotel
