Review Talking Hands Restaurant - Hyderabad

Mini Agarwal
It's a really nice place to hangout! The customer service is the best, the servers/waiters are mute, so they communicate with sign language. The ambience was good, and hospitality makes you feel right at home. Although, food is okay, they can improve a bit here, but, it does taste good! So, if you ever visit this place, don't try to be rude or use some other language (except sign language). If you don't know the sign language, it will be there in the restaurant, just look it up and learn. It's really amazing!

Wonderful experience. Loved the restaurant , ambience and everything. All the staff are differently abled people and we need to communicate with them in sign language. We can learn the sign language easily and communicate with the help of manual sort of thing they gave. Food is also so good, starters are very tasty. We have ordered almost 6-7 varieties of starters and all are very nice. Would love to visit again. Only thing is...the main course items were served very late , it took around 20-30 minutes. If they can improve that, it would be wonderful.

It is located in Begumpet, where it is very easy to identify from a heavy traffic also. It is a theme restaurant, which uses only sign language for communication. I had a wonderful experience, communicating in Indian Sign Language. You have pictures all around showing the signs and their meanings, they help you in communicating with the staff over there. The food is amazing. The soups and starters are very yummy and you must try them. The prices were also very reasonable. You have everything, soups, startes, main course desserts, milk shakes etc over there. There is even a stage, where you can celebrate small parties or gatherings. Ambience is very nice. 5/5 Service is amazing. 5/5 Food is yummy. 4.5/5 Pricing is reasonable. 4/5 Overall. 4.6/5 It is an amazing experience and I would suggest rather request you too to experience that.

Guys a must visit place...I appreciate the person whoever has taken such an amazing initiation.. Fantabulous food, lovely ambience, perfect customer service... We also enjoyed interacting using the sign language... Every sign was displayed and was easily communicable... Do visit whoever is around Begumpet , Hyderabad to experience the best..

One of the Best Experience By Food and Those Staff. Amazing Place with a Comfortable seating arrangement. Though we are not familiar by sign language I tried my best to convey our order but staff has understood easily and served the order. What ever we want to say should convey through sign language with hands. Coming to food I have order 2 starter 1 veg crispy Corn and 1 non veg Apollo Fish and Main course Mutton Dum Biryani So, finally my overall rating is : Food - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Staff - 5/5

Wonderful food at unbelievable prices. Food: Taste: 5/5 Texture: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 (Good wall paintings and store layout). Staff: 5/5 Highly professional, courteous and treat you well with broad smile. They are well informed about the items available in menu. They are well trained. The restaurant is an initiative of the Deaf Enabled Foundation in support with the Telangana Tourism. It is meant to provide training and employment to deaf and dumb people. The most important thing to note is that no one speaks over here. The staff communicates by sign languages. There are some basic cue cards available which explain you the basic gestures. That can be used to convey the idea.

A very different experience while eating food. The taste of the food was really really nice. The staff is very helpful. The ambience was good. The SIGN language was depicted wherever possible. The TV inside also gave good insights into the language which was very impressive. The walls also had depicted the way alphabets are shown and a few common words also
SRAVAN KUMAR RAVADA
One of the best theme restaurant in Hyderabad. This restaurant is running by deaf and dumb. They will take order using hand signs. Must try restaurant in Hyderabad. Price is moderate. The food taste is also good. The food is not much spice. The interior is very good. They serve alcohol also.

Worrying utter silence is what you experience while you make way to this restaurant “Talking Hands”. In fact, you may all of a sudden think if the restaurant is really open. All you see around is the sign language frames of basic greeting etiquettes, alphabet signs on how to communicate to place your order, A bell switch which alerts the staff with light & a warm cheerful wide smile welcoming you. Definitely a unique experience that’s not to be missed. Another one of such kind is Dialogue in the Dark run by visual – Impaired. Good to see such establishments supporting the challenged individuals and efforts in making them even more confident. A pretty simple menu which would not leave you confused and the staff helps with proper recommendations to order the best of your choice. I am happy I was able to place my order with signs successfully and interact with them. Mushroom Fried rice, Chicken 555 & a fresh lime soda was our simple choice and none of them disappointed. In fact, Chicken 555 turned out really good. Overall a satisfying meal with a different experience and maybe a day after a very long time where I was quite. I feel we need to encourage such places by visiting more often not just out of sympathy/empathy but for their decent and good food and attentive service. They have a good seating place & a PDR to host your celebrations, parties, gatherings, meetings. Contacts details in one of the picture attached. PS – If in case of difficulty you have two staff on the floor who speak and trained on sign language. However, I am sure you wouldn’t need them the most. #TalkingHands #Begumpet #experience #food #foodie #itsallaboutfood #lovefoodhatewaste #eatresponsible #annadathasukhibhava #ClickEatXploreYo #LiveCEXY

A noble concept where the entire staff is deaf and dumb. Glad I went there and learnt some of the signs in the sign language. We take our faculties of speaking and listening so casually, I realized by going there. Kids should be taken there and be sensitized to perceive differently abled people in an amicable and open minded manner. Food, decor, and last but not the least, the service was good. RECOMMENDED. 😊🙏

Well this restaurant was pretty to close to the place I used to stay. I have ordered from here a lot. Mostly I have loved their Chinese cuisine more. <br/><br/>I have ordered Mixed Fried Rice, Chicken in Garlic Sauce and Chicken Corn Soup. First of all, I have to give them credit for the way they pack things. It makes it easier for us. Chicken corn soup was amazing as well as Chicken in Garlic Sauce. <br/><br/>Wouldn't mind ordering again from this place in the near future.

I had ordered fruit custard with ice cream. I the first place, there was no spoo provided. When asked, the delivery boy simply says "they probably forgot to pack " 😐😐<br/>Next, a bigger surprise was in store: fruit custard with ice cream, had no trace of ice cream in it.. 😡😡<br/>Can you please justify this order and the amount paid towards the same????

One of the most cool and out of the box excellent concept based restaurant I've come across.. wonderful initiative well supported by the state government.. located within the plaza tourism hotel along the busiest stretch of begumpet hence locating it isn't a problem.. ample of parking space available.. Ambience is really quiet n we really appreciate that kind of atmosphere.. unique concepts of interior designing.. walls are really creative out there which also gives us a peek into the quiet yet wonderful world of theirs.. were welcomed graciously and offered a table of our choice.. here even the table mats convey good information and ways to interact with staff.. we had ordered for roti with chapala pulsu followed by chicken schezwan noodles along with lime soda n flamingo as our mocktails.. concluded with vanilla n strawberry ice cream.. Food tastes good... Chapala pulsu (fish curry) is really good to taste but I felt the quantity served was lesser than expected.. noodles were also tasty n also served in a good quantity.. mocktails also tasted nice.. overall I would like to say..<br/>Ambience 4<br/>Service 4<br/>Taste 4<br/>Value for money 4.5..<br/>Really was quite reasonably priced and also there was spl Diwali discount offer going on so we got additional 20% discount on the grand total.. Highly recommend ppl to attend such wonderful restaurants n promote such unique ideas were even such specially able ppl are given an equal opportunity to earn a living.. kudos to state government as well.. looking forward for new outlets of talking hands or any similar initiative run restaurants in near future.. best of luck!!

Really one of the best restaurant which i visited in Hyderabad. The food was delicious, fresh and tasty. People who like silent and peace this restaurant is for them. Me and my family visited yesterday for diner at Talking Hands. Evrything is just excellent. Must try in Hyderabad.<br/><br/>Will visit again with my colleagues and friends.

Quantity received for full biryani of price ₹ 280 looks very limited and price is overrated. Taste of the food is not good and recommend not to order from this restaurant for the taste and price.

"We all smile in the same language"<br/>This restaurant gave me one of the best experiences!!!!<br/>The concept of experiencing the world of the deaf is something very different.<br/>The staffs were very gracious.<br/>We ordered Loose prawns, chicken tikka, crispy corn for starters,<br/>Flamingo as mocktail,<br/>Chicken Chatpat curry, Tandoori Roti, and Laccha Paratha.<br/><br/>The food was delicious. Especially Chicken Chatpat was very enjoyable.<br/><br/>On the whole it was an all together different experience to communicate to the staff for which I would surely recommend this restaurant.<br/><br/>PS: When you visit this place please make sure that you maintain silence.

Happened to visit this place for my uncle's anniversary. Of all the reviews I had read before , I must say this place is worth a visit. The food is just like any other restaurant and pocket friendly, however, the staff is extremely well coordinated, helpful, smiling and pure hearted. Though it's a little difficult communicating with them in their language, you can definetly try :). And it's true "We all smile in the same language". You do experience a sense of calmness and realize that our freedom of speech shouldn't be misused.

Good place to have food with different experience.<br/>We have ordered biryani which was spicy and tasty.<br/>Flamingo mocktail drink was good.<br/>They have offered us 20% discount which was unexpected.<br/>Staff is very friendly. Overall it was good experience.

Have ordered 4-5 times. Delivery is always prompt. Food is hygienic and well packaged. Taste is really very good and at reasonable prices. <br/>Have tried chicken biryani, veg fried rice, chill chicken wet, mixed veg raita, gobi manchurian. All dishes tasted very good. Highly recommend this place for tasty food at budget prices.

First thing I look for at any place is hospitality & talking hands staff are the best at it. They are very courteous staff I've ever seen, very helpful & always smiling.<br/><br/>We ordered 1, salt & pepper baby corn 2, Chilly garlic noodles 3, loose prawn's 4, special mutton biryani<br/><br/>Prawn's & noodles & baby corn were fine, biryani I loved very much. They took some time to bring biryani but that's ok cos we weren't in a hurry.<br/><br/>We even took snap with a staff member who served us with love, I would like to visit this place more often 😊
Amit Magade
I ordered non veg biryani combo from here. It was really good. The perfect quantity for single person. And the sweet provided in this combo was excellent. It was one of the best I had in Hyderabad. I am writing this review because really liked this sweet. It's really delicious 😍

As a vegetarian i could say this was one of the best places i have visited. The service was very good. This place gives you peace of mind. The food was very good and tasty. No complaints at all. A must have experience. Do visit and encourage these kind of restaurants.

Do I love or love this restaurant?<br/>The most courteous staff .<br/>I feel this is the most romantic restaurant one can find around.<br/>The silence ,the lighting, the food ,everything is straight out of a TV show - perfect.<br/>Ordered the chicken chatpat with rotis and garlic naan - very yummy and great quantity.<br/>And there is a special bell you press for calling for the bill . I think it's very cute and fun for the kids .<br/><br/>Edit: I keep going here again and again ! Absolutely love this place . Had biryani this time ! Look at the picture ! It's so tastyy

Ordered twice here 1st time its good, second time they didn't gave gravy for biryani.why? How can a biryani be complete without gravy and rita.ordering for second is mistake.
Harsha Midathala
This restaurant provides a unique experience where the waiter speak to you in sign language. This is the only best part of this restaurant. I have been twice to this place so Im here sharing my experience. The food is not so great and the restaurant is usually empty which speaks for the quality of food. The prices are high on par with the high end restaurants but the quality and taste of food is not so great. The management need to work on providing quality food. The only best part is the experience you have while you interact with the waiters.
Vidushi
We ordered salt and pepper mushrooms, manchurian soup and a veg biryani. Although the soup was generic hot and sour flavoured, the other two dishes were absolutely delicious. The quantities were generous too. The service was very prompt. The washrooms were however quite dirty.<br/>The concept of the restaurant is very unique and heartwarming. I'd definitely recommend a visit!
Sachin Chimmalgi
Great place to visit with family and friends. <br/><br/>The food gets a four star but the experience you get and the hospitality you receive deserves a lot more. Food for 4 costs around 1800.
Sanjay Namani
I have been a biryani lover all my life but i have never tasted a biryani worse than this.i think the restaurent forgot to add rice in biryani flower<br/>

Bit of new experience. Order food through sign languages. Decided to go Talking Hands after lot of research in Begumpet. Order Chicken Talumein Soup, Ginger Chicken, Masala Kulcha, Tandoori chicken, Chicken garlic fried Rice, fresh lime soda. Starting with soup it was little blunt and sweet. Had to add salt and vinegar to bring it to taste. Then came the Tandoori. It was Awesome....It was perfectly marinated with right amount of spices and properly cooked and tandoored...Pudina chutney added the best to the taste.. Then came rest except the fresh lime soda..chicken garlic chicken was good and tasted good..Chicken quality was good and tender. After so many days I had Masala kulcha it was great in taste And Masala was present in sufficient quantity in the kulcha..Fried rice taste was good but the garlic was lacking in the fried rice..It was simply tasted like chicken fried rice..Fresh lime soda added as digestor for the food we had

A good place gr8 ambiance, tasty food, i tried chicken sizzler, tangdi kebab, shrimp(prawns) and butter milk every dish was good, specially the sizzler is gr8. Only draw back is the rest rooms horrible maintenance.
Richa Kulshrestha
This is purely for the experience that you get when you are here.<br/>Food is average but the experience and hospitality is Something unforgettable. Wow , I have been to many themed based places but no one can beat this with generous staff and prompt service.<br/>I like the hand gestures we were making right from ordering to even sometimes communicating to each other in the group (too much into the theme)and for the first time I have seen continues smiling waiters with tallying each and every order before setting it up for prep.<br/>This place should open its branches in every other part of the city as well.<br/>
Uday Kumar
My go to place for online orders, this is one restaurant which consistent in quality and quantity. Applause to the management for employing specially abled people at the restaurant.
Smriti Agarwal
Firstly, I was extremely happy to get to know of a place run by people with special abilities. Secondly, the space is beautifully calm and quiet. No music, no distractions, no frills. The staff is fantastic. I loved interacting with them. Using sign language was so simple and they are so perceptive! The food is above average but not amazing - which is perfectly fine. The pricing is very reasonable. I'm going to come back here. :)
Jayant Solanki
I support deaf at Talking Hands. The servants are good manners. The food is good food for Chicken Biryani. But it's not good without hot food.
Jayashree Nandakumar
Looking at the Zomato rating ordered from here for dinner. Mutton biryani and butter chicken. Butter chicken was yum. Biryani had too many tiny bone fragments. I ate it with such difficulty and one caught my throat. Hence 3 stars.
Rohith Gorrepati
I have ordered chicken fried rice. The food was delicious. The packing of food is extraordinary. The restaurant food was recommended. Thank you for your service<br/>

<br/>A unique restaurant where all the staff members stay mute and use hand sign language only. Food is super good. Ambiance is also good. Though could have been better.

Ever wondered how a deaf and mute person communicate? Well you are going to find out right after you walk into this place ! <br/> The people who serve here are absolutely deaf and mute and they communicate via sign language! This theme restaurant has really impressed us and stood as one of the unique restaurants in town! <br/> The ambience is great and you can see the regular using signs for communication. Their menu also lists out some basic signs for food ordering. There is no communication gap between customers and management. <br/><br/>Speaking of the food, we ordered tandoori, crispy corn, chicken biryani, mutton boneless biryani & ice creams <br/><br/>Tandoori: Cooked well tasted good but didn’t stand out the best. <br/><br/>Crispy corn : They tasted delicious the limited the usage of garlic which turned out as a good point. <br/><br/>Biryani : Here stands the uniqueness of them again in both presentations and taste of food. They serve one omlett along with rice which is brought in a PLATE 😂. The taste of the dish is delicious. <br/><br/>Mutton Boneless: The quantity was huge and the taste was good. Spicyness exceeded but did not effect the taste of the biryani. <br/><br/>Ice Creams: Yeah the taste of ice creams was regular we had butterscotch and chocolate both are satisfying. <br/><br/>Food :4.0 <br/>Service:5.0<br/>Ambience:4.0 <br/><br/>*Worth of every penny you spent here* 😊

Happy to rate it @ 5. I had lunch with my friend today... It was quite empty when else stepped in and then filled up gradually. It it very spacious and simply done. Extremely warm welcome by the staff and a wonderfully courteous service right through. We ordered a ajwaini fish tikka and daal palak, with roti and naans. What a wonderfully tasty lunch it was. Rounded it up with icecream and apricot pudding. Quite a good value for money too, total of about 900. Very happy to recommend it and would visit again soon.

I ordered Veg Pulav from "Talking Hands". Its so delicious, I attempted other most popular restaurants, but not satisfying every time. Here, veg pulav taste is really something special. Taking orders and delivery quite efficient and comparatively quick. Awesome food. Very reasonable for the quantity.

The speciality of this place is that everyone working there is hearing impaired and mute ,so the name talking hands . Visited this place on my birthday and Very glad that i did .<br/>I didn't expect the food to be good but it was amazing . Friendly and kind staff ,prompt service . Must visit for everyone atleast once . Going to recommend for everyone .<br/>The best part is you get to learn sign language .

Ambience-5/5 <br/>Very neat and hygienic. Calm and cozy! People over here are extremely courteous and loving.<br/>Food-4/5<br/>I had a few vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes and some of their special dishes taste amazing. Chicken dum biryani is very good here!<br/>Service-10/5 i<br/>It a 10 on 5 because the service is amazing. You feel so loved when you are here.<br/>The entire experience of conversing with hands is what makes the entire dining experience worth every penny.<br/><br/>A must try for every person looking for a special experience!

This place is one great and happy place. The people serving are deaf and dumb so the name talking hands is perfectly apt. This place is so calm and quiet, everything is perfect and there's just that peaceful meal which is so satisfying. It's fun learning the sign language and ordering in that manner. The waiters are so humble and observant they'll just come to your service when you need them. The food is simply amazing. The corn soup was great as usual. The ginger chicken was like the best I've had! Fish garlic kebab and chicken tikka and the Chicken biryani were great. I jus have no complaints with this place because it's so perfect. Kudos to the service, food and staff. Must must visit.

After seeing good reviews on Zomato, visited this place Sunday evening after watching Geeta Govindam in PVR Punjagutta.. it's hard to find good veg places in Hyderabad but the reviews posted about this place made us feel excited.. ordered Malai paneer Tikka, roti and kadai mushroom.. Food here is tasteless.. Malai Paneer Tikka was literally tasteless.. kadai mushroom was bad and rotis cold..For convenience we ordered the starter and main course at the beginning itself.. but they were served all at the same time.. the onion salad served was also bland even after adding copious amounts of salt and pepper.. The ambience is good, staff is courteous and there was no problem communicating with the staff but the food was really bad..

Well this is my first review on Zomato, this place is Amazing, the ambience, the taste was just out of the world and the best part was the service by the staff, though the staff here is deaf and dumb the way they engage the customer is not even found in restaurants where the staff can hear and speak, since I come from a service industry for me the service is most important and that's where these guys get brownie points, the time to deliver the food was a little long but rest was amazing.<br/><br/>One request though kindly provide regular drinking water and not insist on purchasing water bottle, as Providing free water should be the basics of hospitality.

Visited this place for lunch today after reading good reviews in zomato.. And am really impressed with the service and the staff.. Hardworking and very good behavior...there was no problem in communication using signs..ambience is nice.. Food was tasty.. Had ordered talumein soup, chicken majestic, mutton dum biriyani, chicken chatpata- everything was tasty.. Caramel custard for desserts was really good.. Overall a very good experience.. Would have liked to give a 4.5 but the zomato app is not allowing decimals nowadays.. Tried to learn some sign language too..shall visit again :)

Biriyani is great. But serving time is very much. What yar? We r scientists... U r playing with us. For a biriyani they took 30 minutes. Apollo fish is worst here. Don't ever dare to eat Apollo fish here. And also for bill they took 15minutes. If u r interested to waste ur time then definitely go... Chicken biriyani is really good...

Overall ambience, food quality & service is excellent.  Pleasant, smiling staff is very helpful.  Exclusive seating space for the 12 of us was special, allowing us privacy.  It was our 2nd visit, and very satisfying in all respects.  A suggestion : a ramp for wheelchairs to climb up from the parking area onto the main entrance would further enhance the wonderful experience at the Talking Hands! Best!

Somehow the service was a little late the particular day. Its ok. The food is good, the ambiance is nice and unique. Loved the staff and got a chance to interact with them in sign language. I would say its a good initiative to create independency for the ones who cannot speak or hear. You must visit it once to meet the happy-go-lucky team there.
