Review Punjabi Affair - Hyderabad

Sai Srinivas N
Food is great and many options you have. Washrooms are the ugliest, management is so reluctant to even clean them . The wash basin wasn't cleaned for days. The toilet wasn't flushed in a while and people were still using it. I don't even want to guess how hygienic the kitchen might be after looking at the washrooms. All the best.
SARTHAK PATRA
A great Punjabi accent restaurant with dhaba style ambience. Loved the food. Had visited the place to have some vegetarian dishes. It didn't disappoint and menu suggestions from the staff was good. Ordered Crispy chilli Mushroom, Butter garlic Naan and Paneer Patiyala. And don't forget to grab some Patiyala Lassi..that's the restaurant's highlight. Prefer considering the restaurant for non veg. Sounds fun to have those in a Punjabi style.
Kiran Ramgade
Good food but by mistake they gave chicken pieces to me. I am pure vegetarian.

You can expect very authentic Panjabi Food, I especially liked the Panjabi ambience and good food, must read all the quotes around being a Panjabi ! Cozy seating arrangements for a great ghuppe shuppe with our yaars, service could be better, sometimes we need to remind our orders !
Naman Chaurasia
Literally a paradise for North Indian food lovers Paneer, naan, dal makhani, patiala Lassi. Everything have an authentic taste of North India cuisine. Lassi is a must try if you love dairy products. Paneer Tikka Masala is really good Avoid Kadai Paneer

Nice ambience. Food quality is good. Food served is downright delicious. Quality served is appropriate. Servers are very polite. The only con is the food comes a little late. It is also a busy place, so advice on planning in advance during busy days. Apart from regular table chairs, there's also place for sitting with your feet crossed. Nice place for dinning in groups.
Umme Ruma
They have some amazing food in very affordable prices. The butter chicken is next level, was sooo creamy and aloo paratha was amazing. Garlic naan was so good it just melted in our. You definitely have to visit this place.
begari anilkumar
The best place as always but the price of paneer curry is around 350 which is way costly. The taste has changed a bit. Overall experience was good i say .but il b thinking a bit more time to go next time.. The place has been renovated and made new changes for your reference il add some images

I have been here few times and it didn't disappoint me in vegetarian items . Although my friends were disappointed once, when they ordered a fish & prawns curries.. The ambience is also nice , Typical Punjabi style. Affordable prices and taste is also good. You must try the Patiyala Lassi . My meal isn't finished without ordering this..!

Punjabi Affair has been serving delicious and authentic Punjabi food in the city for over 6 years now. They have opened up again post the lockdown and I was invited here for a food tasting. We started off with the soups - the vegetable soup and the chicken Manchow soup. Given that they are primarily a Punjabi the Chinese soups were decent. We then started off with the appetizers. The first one was the Paneer Tikka which is quite popular among vegetarians. We then had the Chicken Malai Tikka which was quite flavorful and marinated well with spices. The Tangdi Kebab was another appetizer that I really enjoyed. It had the hint of coriander and ajwain that added to the flavor profile. Now letโ€™s move on the main course. The main course was by far one of the best that I have had in terms of Punjabi food. The Dal Makhani was thick and creamy filled with the dal and spices that were slow cooked overnight. The butter chicken was quite good with a hint of sweetness and went well with the soft stuffed kulcha. The Patiala Chicken had delicious juicy chicken cooked and wrapped inside an omelette that was soaked in the flavors of the gravy. The Paneer Malai gravy was quite rich and has be enjoyed with the butter naan. Last but not the least their Lassi is a must have. Served in a tall glass the thick lassi has flavors of saffron and garnished with crushed almonds. The food was definitely great but their service needs to be stepped up a notch. This should definitely be on your list if you savor Punjabi food.

It is one of the best Punjabi resturant. You can have a variety of non-veg dishes and veg too. Chicken dishes are the best, all bread items are good and starters too. Biriyani is only for people who don't like to have breads otherwise it's not the place for biriyani. Lassi is the best thing out of all. Service is good and very fast.Nice ambiance, good place to enjoy with friends and family.

Place smelled like urine and was so dirty. If there's an restaurant which does not follow safety precautions during these times, then it has to be this. Even though I love the food at punjabi affair, I had to walk out as the place felt dirty and unsafe.
Neha Sharma
It was my second order with the restaurant and it took 1.5 hours for them to deliver the order. When I called, the restaurant representative lied and told me the order is ready and will be ready to be delivered in 5 mins. It took another 30 mins to get ready. And when the order was delivered, it was incomplete.
When i called the restaurant again, they were not too apologetic about it. Just an advice to the restaurant: no matter how good the food is, atleast be professional in dealing with your customers

Punjabi affair was one of our favourite restaurants earlier but now we feel quality has been compromised n prices increased. we ordered Paneer tikka masala, we expected paneer tikka in gravy but it was hard normal plain paneer. Chilly Mushroom was Okay not like earlier. Food delivery got delayed n was delivered after 1 n a half-hour, your hunger will die off by this time. Overall disappointed.
P SHASHI KUMAR
Will give Zero for their poor quality. I ordered two to three times from here but all the times there was an issue with the quality. Their taste was very good earlier but now gone are those times. I give 2 chances before writing reviews so this review is after all those chances.
Dr Praveen Reddy
We ordered Chicken Patiala which was highly recommended in this restaurant. It was very salty and spicy and absolutely unpalatable
Packaging is no way near max safety standards which other restaurants are maintaining.
DS Singal
A perfect place for North indian to have Ghar ka khana in South India๐Ÿ˜…. Quality and quantity both are not compromised. Liked the place overall.
Vinutha Devendran
Mushroom butter masala was okay but without salt. Chicken tikka masala was STALE! Donโ€™t cheat people n sell stale food. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Sandesh Shetty
Not a food review, but a safety standard review.

I dont know how zomato gives its max safety certificate. I went to the restaurant to pick up food and found that they are not following most of the safety standards that needs to be followed.
1. None of the staffs where wearing gloves
2. No one checked my temperature before i enetered the restaurant
3. No one was checking the temperature of delivery guys.
4. I saw some staff members who had their masks on their necks.
5. The worst of all, couple of staff came out of the kitchen and they had absolutely no masks or gloves on.

During these times I expect restaurants to adhere to the safety standards for the safety of the customers and also their staff. I hope zomato reads it and takes notice of it. If the owners of the place are reading this, please maintain the safety to the maximum as covid is not something to joke about.

I am sorry but not ordering from here again.
Pooja Choudhury
Loved the food. If you are looking for best north indian food in and around this is the place. Although the price is bit high the taste is worth it.
Hemanth Kumar
The best punjabi food Iโ€™ve ever had, delicious, reasonable pricing, quick service everything top notch. Must visit restaurant in Hyderabad, I say...!
Prayas Jain
I have tried almost all of paneer items. I loved them all. But this was very bad experience with Palak Paneer. The taste is not good and even the paneer quality is not good. I hope restaurant will increase the quality and taste for palak paneer.
Anand Khumar
It seems to reheated and not fresh.
Saumya Singh
The food we ordered had 4 items out of which tandoori chicken and manchurian costed 400 and 260 respectively, tandoori chicken had 4 pieces only! Thatโ€™s 100 bucks a small leg piece! Veg manchurian costs 260 for 10 pieces, this is not the service I expect from a 4.2 rating restaurant that has completely ripped me off! We are in a pandemic situation and living alone thinking of having good food has now become a nightmare! On top of that nobody is ready to help from zomatoโ€™S side for this. This is completely helpless situation for me.
Vishal Agrawal
Food was authentic but spicy. That is despite calling up the restaurant.

Ordered malai kofta, daal makhani was too spicy. Kadhai paneer was soft, but a bit spicy
Shivani Singh
I ordered 2 half - half portion of Tandoori ๐Ÿ— Chicken and let me tell you it was expensive but not at all value for money as it was burnt from outside, they were added colour too, flavour less, and hard if I am almost paying INR 600/- for some dish it should be worthy and their would be expectation too as they are charging so much, although it was my first and last order, never ever will order again, please work on your cooking skills.๐Ÿ˜’

Patiala chicken was so flavourful they wrapped tiny chicken pieces with green masala in a Omelette it was too yumm.. Butter Garlic naan was too good with lots of garlic chunks.. Laccha paratha was ok.. Patiala lassi was my most fav here it was so thick with nuts.. Restaurant ambiance was ok.. Service was good.. Love to visit again
The Lazeez Mizaaz
This place offers absolutely yummy food. We ordered kaju masala, tandoori roti, parathas, chilly garlic noodles. Everything we ordered tasted delicious. The curry was appropriately spicy and tangy. Chilly garlic noodles were so good that even on a full stomach we completely ate it all๐Ÿ˜„
The staff takes care of your instructions very well.
Overall a recommended place !
.
For more foodie updates follow us on Instagram @thelazeezmizaaz

Foodie Cookie
For starters we ordered Crispy corn, tandoori chicken and paneer.
For main course we had Punjabi Chicken masala, exotic veg chatpatedar, garlic naan, butter naan and normal naan bread and chaans for drink!

The food was really good. We couldn't stop licking gravy off our fingers while eating the main course.

It cost us about 380 Rupees per head which was a great deal indeed!

Would I visit Punjabi Affairs again?
Why not!!
Vaishali Gupta
Horrible taste, it is definitely not a punjabi taste. Whatever we order veg/non veg we found it complete waste of money. Never going to come again!! Wanted to give 0 Or -ve but option is not there.
Neeraj Raghavendra
Will sure visit again.

Edit :
Visited again. Edited rating from 5 to 3.
Ordered same items. Taste is not same, especially Roti's are not as good as the first time.
Taradeep
Liked baby corn masala curry along with butter garlic naan but I felt the butter on naan was too much. Can reduce a bit
Aishwarya Mishra
Absolutely amazing food.
Fast service.
Do try their lassi and missi roti.
The quantity is much more than expected while no compromise with quality.
Authentic food.
Namrata Jhawer
The taste of food is amazing. Order anything it is yummy.
Raghu
Been to this place for lunch.
Had paneer ludhyanvi, suggested by them.
Tastes superb,
paneer is fresh and the curry is not spicy and it is a thick gravy with a similar taste to paneer labadaar.
I really liked it.
Place is busy and service is very slow, which can be improved.

Overall ok.
Amir Ansari
This place is just amazing when it comes to authentic Punjabi
Always crowded specially on weekends
Jeet
Best Punjabi place in Hyderabad. Love the food. The taste has been great over many years. Never disappoints.
Abhijeet Gopalan
The name/place pops up in our head when you call out punjabi/north Indian food in the heart of Hyderabad.. Look at their phenomenal growth over the years, they are now in every major places of Hyderabad. Such a lip smacking & rich food in both non-veg & veg varieties. I still remember those lassi challenges with friends when we use to visit there. Go for authentic punjabi lassi, raita, kebabs, paranthas, chicken dishes and mouth watering and my favourite chicken waale chawal. If you want to have good food, lovely ambiance & latest punjabi songs go for this place. If I have to recommend something to the management that would be cleanliness, food sometimes get too spicy to handle, being consistent even when it comes to online orders, and less usage of food colouring because it remains on our hand for a day and people get to know we went to Punjabi Affair(a good advertisement though). #amritsariLassi #LassiChallenges #tawachicken #malaikebab
Rajaram Kakodiya
It's a family restaurant. Ambiance is not good but can go there to have a good north Indian food. Food and service was good. Even we have ordered online multiple times.
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 3.5/5
Ambiance - 1.5/5

Review no :248

Ordered paneer paratha from Punjab Haveli. The order. Ones with paratha, pickle, Amul butter small pack & curd packed in nicely delivery box.

Paratha has very good taste & complemented with curd. Itโ€™s sufficient for one person if you have full paratha for dinner.
Vibhav Gaonkar
Had this experience twice when I ordered food. I stay less than a mile away from this place and they take an hour just to prepare the order. This is simply ridiculous!

In addition, the dine-in scene is not much different. It can easily take them anywhere between 20-30 minutes to get your order.

Rest all good things are shadowed by this.
Kalyan Sadhukhan
No bill. Only hand written bill and charging GST for every customer. This is completely going in black money. And they do not have manager or any contact or senior contact. This is like 20 30 years back. Utterly disappointed.
Prashant Panjwani
Paneer tikka masala is so salty it tastes like Bay of Bengal.
Hungrybeards

Well, its my first review on a public platform. Me, being a pure veggie, and an avid cheese lover I ordered Aloo cheese paratha. Eating two aloo parathas was the biggest task for me, but I wanted to challenge myself for more this time.
You get two Aloo cheese parathas for one plate (more responsibility ahead ๐Ÿ˜…). Anything spicy which comes to you in hot condition is tasty, so kindly eat them as early as possible. You are served with raita and dal (I personally don't like it).
Watching the butter melt on the hot parathas made me think it's no big deal in completing them. But, once you start, you realise it's the toughest job you can allot yourself to ๐Ÿ˜.
Jokes apart,

Food review: 4.5/5 rating, missed the homely taste.
Staff review: 5/5, everyone was so humble and dedicated. It's rare to see people working with no ego.
Ambience: 5/5, great ambience to enjoy a Punjabi flavor, surrounded by Punjabi dialogues posters. Punjabi songs flowing around.

Thank you!
This place serves the best North Indian in and around the Kondapur area if one goes by overall quality, quantity and ambiance. The location is convenient and the staff is quite friendly and warm. The ambiance is quirky with some fun Punjabi anecdotes on the wall.
Top dishes: Patyala Chicken, their signature dish which is basically butter chicken slightly spiced up and wrapped in an omelette, the taste is really a mouthful with this one. Also, they mak impeccable Butter Chicken and Naan, and to top it up they also serve some really nice, thick Lassi.
Highly recommended if you're around the Kondapur area.

I visited on a Saturday evening .the food and service was horrible compared to other branches and when informed the lady who takes the order about the taste and quality of food being pathetic she says she knows ..what more could I even say on top of it
Mamta Thakur
It's a good north indian restaurant located right on Gachibowli-miyapur road. We went for late dinner on Sunday so we didn't have to wait. Earlier we had gone here on a Saturday at peak dinner hour around 8PM, and could not get a table.
We ordered kadhai paneer, Garlic Butter naan and Butter roti. All the items were tasty, although the size of roti was smaller than any I have seen in good north indian restaurants. We plan to go there again to explore the menu as this time we were in a hurry.

Pros : Delicious food, pocket friendly menu
Cons : Almost full during peak hours
Recommend : Kadhai paneer, butter roti, garlic butter naan ; will add after my next visit
Purnima Halder
The BEST PLACE to get NORTH INDIAN food in town. Loved everything that I ordered. Especially the Thread Chicken and Butter Chilli Fish. Definitely Visit on weekdays as they are jam packed during holidays and weekends. Loved It ๐Ÿ˜˜ #PunjabiAffair #NorthIndia #NorthIndianFood #best

Heard alot about this place, and reached here with high expectations. We had ordered Garlic butter naan and panner tikka masala along woth peas pulao

Paneer Tikka Masala, hadn't done justice to its name. It was bland and was on the sweeter side. The personnel said that this was one of their spicy dishes, but it came out as a total disappointment. Garlic naan was soft and good. Peas pulao was okay, could be better. Ambience is bad. Those who consider ambience to be the key part, avoid this place.
Niharika Lingashetty
Love the Lassi over here. Ate parata many times and was never disappointed with the taste. Also loved the chicken tava biryani.
Chicken rolled in omelet was the tastiest
Mani Kanta
Very disappointed, No taste. I have took panneer curry also Keema Biryani. Both doesnt seem good. Very very unhappy. Had to return all of them. Others were also not up to the mark. And the lassi?? Well that was so sour never had this kind of experience.
Sind Hu
This is the best place to have the Lassi.i enjoy eating Kadai Paneer and Butter naan here. I love visiting this again and again bcz of its tasty and yummy food
ROHIT KHANNA
Visited this place today for lunch and it was completely packed with people :)

We ordered Crispy corn, chicken 65, Dal Tadka along with Paneer Kolhapuri. The food was really good. For vegetarians, do try crispy corn here as very less places serve good one. Chicken starter was spicy but mouth watering:P I was awestruck by the taste of dishes and felt that I am sitting in some part of North India. We had Naan, Tandoori roti, phulka in breads. We ended our lunch with Patiala lassi which was shared by three of us because of huge quantity.

They need to improve their service especially during rush hours. The place is pocket friendly and doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

Highly recommended if you are craving for some good North Indian food in Hyderabad :)

Ambience 4/5
Food 5/5
Service 3/5

Cheers!!

Was there alot of times with friends, family, colleagues...

Food - All outlets are just awesome 4.5/5
Ambiance - not that good one 3.5/5
Staff/service - so so 3.5/5

Overall rating would be 4/5
Ranit Bandyopadhyay
Patiala chicken is a must try.
The Patiala lassi is one of the best lassi in town.
If you are fond of North Indian cuisine and feel its dearth in Hyderabad, do try this place.
Abhinav Kulshrestha
Best Punjabi/North Indian food available in town.
Don't mind the ambience, its still a work in progress and there is a good amount of waiting as well in peak hours.
When in doubt, just order Dal makhni and you'll not regret it and while you are at it, bet your friends if one can finish an entire glass of Amritsari Lassi, and its damm tasty as well. These are the 2 things I definitely order when i. Punjabi Affair.
Akash Pattanayak
One of my fav places across Hyd..Been to many places but never found the kind of taste this place gives.... absolute flavours and justification to the names of the dishes..Butter chicken is a must try...
Sorry to say but I don't have the option of zero star. It was not my first visit to the restaurant, but surely the last. The staff here is very unprofessional. Although the food here tastes awesome, but I doubt on the quality of food served. The unused salads after cleaning a table are put back for fresh use, same for spoons and forks. While serving the finger bowls, the waitress literally dipped her dirty hands into the bowl to check the hotness or coldness of water. The food to be served and the waste collected from a table are kept at the same place. Serving good food doesn't mean you can do these stuffs. Even the ambience is getting heated up cz of the crowd, the music is too loud and irritating at times.
Atleast the staffs should be wearing gloves and they require proper training on how to behave and act.
Gaurav Bhartiya
Disappointed with the food quality.
Chicken Reshmi kabab was hard and fried.
Butter chicken was full of colors.
It was not original food colour, chef uses colors.
I made a mistake by going there.
Lassi was just a glass of blended curd, atleast mix some ice or chilled water. Otherwise it becomes heavy.
Beware of such restaurants who are looting in name of punjabi food.
Shreya Agrawal
Worst Punjabi food I ever had. We ordered chicken lollipop, paneer tikka masala, butter naan and the patiyala lassi. Chicken lollipop didn't even taste like chicken,I don't understand how can people go wrong with that. Naan was thick and chewy as hell, paneer tikka also wasn't good. I tried the place based on good reviews m but trust me it's not worth a try also.
Vyomagami
First time for me to go punjabi affair , and that lassi made me go again and again, chicken was awesome overall nice experience to be there .
Biswajit
Surprised by the food .
My expectations for good punjabi food ends here .
They provid good punjabi dish

Must try
Butter naan , butter Chicken & dal Makhani .

They ambience is ok but the food is delicious.
The patiala Lassi is very famous here ,
You can make 1/2 of the it for 2
Neha Aggarwal
The best part is the Patiala lassi. The size and taste both are overwhelming. The ambience is good and gives you good vibe . I personally liked the Manji's concept of seating . Food is good . All the starters and main course items are good. But the taste is not typically north indian and it's little pricey too, otherwise a good place to go.
Medha Parashar
This place is just amazing when it comes to authentic Punjabi food.
Ambience - average
Must try- chicken patiyala, chicken tikka masala, garlic kulcha.
Always crowded specially on weekends .
