Sagar Papaji Ka Dhaba is a renowned restaurant boasting a rich heritage of serving delectable and traditional Punjabi cuisine for over four decades. The establishment provides three distinct seating arrangements to cater to every guest's preference, including a cooler area, a non-AC area, and an AC area on the first floor. Among the menu highlights are the butter chicken, ginger chicken, and kadai chicken, which are packed with flavor. Additionally, guests can indulge in mouth-watering snacks such as the chicken sheek kabab, chicken tikka masala onion, and delightful sweet Lassi. To top off the meal, the restaurant offers delectable desserts like egg pudding & cheesecake. Remarkably, the property provides convenient valet parking services, even in the bustling Abids area. Overall, Sagar Papaji Ka Dhaba offers heavenly tasty food that is sure to delight any foodie.

Update 14th October 23. Went back and this time dined in the old ground floor section. Fortunately, the same yummy food they were known for. Had their Roti, Keema Kidney & Ginger Chicken with Masala Pyaaz. Previous Review. Definitely a drop in quality & service. They need to improve & get back to their original level of quality which had made them such a foodie favourite.

Keema fry with tandoori roti is a feast to have here. We can feel the pleasantness of tandoori roti’s texture here. Ginger chicken is not up to the mark and is sweeter in taste. Lassi is good

Food is really good with vegetarian options as well. I have been visiting this place since my childhood. Finally, they decided to expand the seating from ground floor to the first floor. This makes them quiet spacious for the crowd they get. Car parking is the only problem for them.

Have been to this place very recently and thought of having a visit from many days. It has 2 sections oke is normal and the other is AC section on the 1st floor. The first floor Seems newly renovated and it looks nice. We have ordered panner tikka and it was good and tasty which was priced around 280 and chicken tikka masala which was charged for 400 followed by some breads. The taste of the chicken was fine, but the meat seemed little hard for us and the breads are very long. Lastly we had their sweet lassi. The place, food and ambience is good, but it is little over priced and the service was also a bit slow. For more details and posts, please visit : LETSEATHYDERABAD on Instagram & Zomato.

Best place to have punjabi food in Hyderabad. Known this place from the past 30 years which endured the rise and fall of many restaurants in its time. The taste and authenticity is lost a bit, but one can enjoy the food.
Tarun Ponugoti
The food is authentic Punjabi style and has great flavour in all the dishes, but there was a huge disappointment with one main Punjabi dish- Butter Chicken....it didn't taste like butter chicken at all. All the other items were so good.

Very old and famous eatery, very tasty and moderately priced Dhaba, turned into a family eating joint. Papaji is no more, but his legacy is passed on to the next generation. Chicken preparations specially Kebabs is worth a try. Equally tasty vegetarian preparations are also available. Family section and A/C restaurant are available.

It's one time previously before COVID the food was amazing but now I find it good not awesome.

I went to Papaji dhaba after a very long time. It used to be my go to place for tandoori children and roti..during my childhood days..they have added a family section on 1st floor..they have a lift..so it's easy for people..it's air conditioned. Food is somewhat the same..though I would say..not like the old taste..however, it was a good experience. Took a parcel of tandoori chicken after having dinner for kids

Wonderful place, the taste was good, the staff is nice and the place has the fastest service ever you receive your order in less than 5 minute. The only thing is that the costs are a little high.

Sagar Papaji Dhaba, I went there with my cousin and friend and the recommendation came from famous youtuber Streetbyte as mentioned by them the tandoori chicken is awesome and also the roti s with butter chen curry. Have a happy food, cheers.

I had ordered mini chicken biryani.
The quantity was good but the quality of the biryani was horrifying.
It was very spicy and had sand in it, which goes to show the cleaning of raw material used in preparation was not done properly.
Very sad experience.
The chicken aashiyana here is the best in the world. Love the place. Excellent Service with very humble staff.

Great place to be with family and friends. The new renovated ambiance is really great with AC section added. The taste remains the same yummy and didn’t disappoint on my last visit after few years. The shahi paneer and ginger chicken was yummy and awesome. The service given by the staff was really good and the communication of best dishes was really appreciating.

The biryani here is one of a kind...Unique in taste...Try here if you want a break from regular Hyderabadi biryani...no artificial colors or flavours

I was browsing in youtube and came across a video about this place and interestingly i was on a work near by this place and it was dinner time by then so went to this place and ordered tandoori chicken and ginger chicken gravy and roti. Of all I really liked tandoori chicken alot. It was so delicious. As for the ginger chicken goes it is little bit on the sweeter side but it was good, but the lassi was so sweet to the core couldn’t drink it, i’m not use to have that much of sugar. Will try tandoor items next time.
Avinash Singh
Taste less food, I ordered Chicken Tandoori but it is tasteless and all black in color like cooked excessively. This is my second order and not satisfied with the manner it is cooked. Tasteless and over cooked food
Dilip Kumar
I feel this place serves the best tasty food ..
Under rated bcoz of busy area.. but I was shocked for tasty food.
You will find family section on 1st floor with decent ambience..

Tried chicken Tikka, roti with mutton curry and pulav
Which is too yummy 😋😋

Never been disappointed with food here and the service too

The best punjabi food Hyderabad can offer. The hospitality and service deserves a great applause. The best dish for me will always be the Chicken Ashiana.

Value for money for every penny you spend here.Love the food here especially there daal tadka and palak paneer.I recommend this place to everyone who wants a quick bite.

The staff needs proper training as they're so confused all the time. Thought the food was great, the ambiguity of staff caused lot of irritation. Service is pathetic seriously but the food is great

This place serves some delicious food at a reasonable price. I have been visiting this place since a long time and never was disappointed by their service. This place has been renovated and now has a special family section. It also has really good vegetarian as well as non vegetarian options. The panner Tikka was absolutely delicious the paneer was so fresh and just melted away in the mouth and the two slabs of paneer had a spread of Cheesy sauce in-between which elevated the taste of it even more.
The naans and tandoori rotis of this place are always top notch and we ordered chicken ashiana which was a semi sweet gravy with boneless chicken and complemented the naan perfectly.
If you want to have a budget friendly yet an delicious dinner this is where you have to be.

Good visiting since past 27 years

I was invited here for dinner and its newly opened section on first floor. After taking stairs it just looks a different place altogether. Extremely amazed by the ambience, sitting arrangements, lightings and the live kitchen. Most importantly a peaceful place for family, friends and loved ones.
I started with Chicken 65 which was too tasty. Pieces were soft and quantity was good. Then I had Loose Prawns which was equally good. Prawns were fluffy and fried and there was a tinge of masalas which gave unique taste. After that, I tried Apollo Fish. It was average though. Then comes the main course. Go for Dal Makhani and also Ashiyana Chicken which is their signature dish. It comes with boiled eggs and is very creamy and buttery. Tandoori rotis were decent. I missed Liver Keema, will certainly try next time. Lastly go for full glass Punjabi Lassi or Egg Pudding. Trust me, I just fell in love with the pudding. Overall, great place and location.

Was here with a friend.

We ordered - Chicken ashiana with butter roti and chicken biryani.
Gravy and roti were good.
Biryani was just okay.

Felt that place was little expensive.

Had read a lot about this place and wanted to try their butter chicken since a long time. Finally on a Sunday evening (India Pak WC match) decided to try this for dinner.

This is a big restaurant with valet parking facility. We decided to skip the ac section and were greeted by their staff. Most of the staff that they have is their loyal old staff with more than 30yrs service with them. They are very friendly and offer really nice and quick service.

We ordered their legendary butter chicken and tandoori rotis and salted lassi. We asked him to serve less oily stuff as we were expecting oily food at such dhaba. The butter chicken served was with very little oil and not at all the sweet butter chicken. It tasted quite similar to the one I used eat at Pal Dhaba in sector 22 in chandigarh. Really nice taste and soft chicken. Rotis were of pure atta and no maida. Lassi was thick and tasty. Onion and chutney was very tangy and just like you get it in north. Ended the tasty feast with egg pudding (caramel custard) which was also really good and soothing.. over the food was not very heavy for a change.

We are definable visiting this again to try their other items soon.. will update the reviews here..

Total was approx 500 with 4 rotis and butter chicken, 1 salted lassi and water bottle. Worth it

We were regular customer since childhood but now this restaurant is taken care by a person who has no idea how to deal with customers. Very rude behaviour from the staff, will not recommend this place to anyone especially to families totally disappointed.

The new ac section with surprisingly good interiors welcomes u... Kudos to current generation for making this happen.. As usual the best butter chicken curry must be tried undoubtedly and the tandoori chicken with the chutney.
Memorable experience all through

Service 4/5
Value for money 4/5
Taste 4/5

A legendary outlet which is been around since my childhood...the taste hasn't altered a bit ...they have stipulated menu and they do it to the perfection....true punjabi tandoori chicken unlike coloured chicken in regular outlets...ginger chicken (never got this taste in any restaurant till date ...must try)and dal makhni are my personal favorites ... biryani here is different unlike the hyderabadi style which is mild and full of punjabi aroma...they recently started the a/c section was missing all these years...

The WORST FOOD I ever had. Their LOOSE PRAWNS was a disaster, too spicy and very hard to bite & had a bit foul smell too. They charged 260/- for one pack, I got two packs as parcel which is a complete waste. Their Tandoori Chicken is also not up to the mark, too much burnt and not tasty at all. Their drumsticks were much better and the worst part is Biryani. Chicken Biryani don't have any aroma and no taste at all. Beware you purchase any food from this restaurant. They're very expensive and not even 50% of quality what they provide. NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED.
Soumitra Reddy
Amazing food with a homely touch!
Tandoori and roti spread is the best.
Biryani is quite unique and good if you are not fixed on Hyderabadi Dum biryani.
Miss the pudine ki chutney that is usually served with kebabs and tikkas. The chutney hear is heavy on peanuts.
Aadhya
The ambience isn't that great but the food is absolutely worth it. The naan and the Curries are a delight. The staff is very friendly. The moment food goes into your mouth you'll stop worrying about most stuff
Anand Kumar
This is one of those places i will never again visit it. Very rude behaviour from the complete staff and the owner also who was just sitting beside the cashier and when i opposed this is how you treat your customers he was fuck customer we don't care. Very disappointed with this place. They don't even deserve 1 star.
Best quality food . Kheema Mutton is their signature dish . Happy to see this place on Zomato. Just if they can have better Quantity it would be great.

Great food with decent ambience. We ordered chicken ashiyana, mutton keema and special stuffed kulcha which were really tasty and cooked till perfection. Loved the food here
Thejoyoffood
Landed here purely looking at great ratings and reviews. Had travelled to that part of town and hence looked up Zomato for some recommendations. Given the high ratings, we headed over to the place. First challenge was parking for a four wheeler. In the absence of any, were forced to park on the roadside. The place is no frills and was almost empty around lunch time. We went with the recommendation of the server and the reviews on Zomato and ordered a chicken Ashiana which we were told would be a Mughai gravy( it turned out to be Mughlai only in the white colour) and a kadhai paneer along with tandoori roti. I must say that I have not had a better tandoori roti across the twin cities than what was served there. The main course however left a lot to be desired. For a 600 rupees bill for these two dishes whose taste as I like to describe as " unemotional" I personally feel this was overhyped. You could practically use a Zomato gold and have a proper meal at most good eateries.

This is quite a popular place in abids for almost 4 decades now especially for its punjabi cuisine. Been here twice till now and tasted the chicken kalmi kebab and garlic kebab for starters. The starters were decent enough, the flavour could not go deep into the piece. We had chicken ashiana, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken with tandoori roti and butter naan for the main course.
The chicken ashiana and butter chicken were amazing and are must try items at this place but the chicken tikka masala was not so good.
Overall it was a great experience and I would rate this restaurant as
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Ambience - 2.5/5

From the day the restaurant started been regular to it. 30+ years dining there. Love the tandoori chicken. Highlight is the masalA onion which I love. Kadak tandoori roti is the best thing.

Instagram: @chukchuk_bytes
Facebook: @ChukChukBytesOfficial

1st Review:
I have been ordering a chicken dish from this place for a long time. It’s Chicken Aashiyana. I love the gravy of this dish. It’s rich creamy and thick with lots of garlic. It has one boiled egg too in the dish which is the icing on the cake for me as i love boiled egg with any dish. I hope they continue to make this dish the same way.

2nd Review:
Ordered Malai kofta from this restaurant but was disappointed. It didn’t taste like Malai kofta. The curry was more of masala and yellow in colour unlike its usual white gravy. The quality and taste was not upto the mark.

Must try: Chicken Aashiyana

Instagram: @chukchuk_bytes
Facebook: @ChukChukBytesOfficial

Visited this place for a lunch. Please don't go by amenities, if u actually want to taste awesome authentic food of Punjab try this place. Lassi must try.

This place is more than 5star
Small , old , very dhaba look but the food is way more tastier than you will ever expect! The chicken 65 is to die for, i enjoyed evrry dish here , and recommand everyone to go and try the naan perfectly cooked the tandoori chicken full of taste and roasted .
The staff is also good.
Just a perfect punjabi hyderabadi food.

Gone here amidst much hype of the quality and taste of the food here and I felt that this place justifies the hype. Great food and friendly service. And as many people may Suggest .. don't go here if ambeience is your top priority.
I would like to rate 5 out of 5 and recommend others to please try the authentic Punjabi cuisine. Be it tandoor roti, paratha, dal makhani to salt n sweet lassis'...... yummmm ......
Roshan Rakesh
BUTTER NAAN's with CHICKEN ASHAINA GRAVY, this meal was the best meal that i've ever had till now. The Kebab's are way too good. When it comes to ambience and interiors, i would say it's really a pathetic hotel. The hotel management should strictly make some nice and welcoming backgrounds. The cost of the food's are bit expensive but the taste and the quality they make is just a direct 5 star sweep. It is run by a Punjabi !!
Alpa
hard panner and less quantity
Shailesh Ghule
Unfortunately I forgot to apply discount, thereafter requested to apply same, which is denied.
So I missed discount coupon, not satisfied so will think in future for next order from zomato
I find the taste and food quality has been maintained since ages. For all those who are food lovers it’s a must visit once in your life time.
Rohit Rao
I want to rate a 3.5, but now that you cant rate a .5, giving it a 4 because of the food i've has in my lifetime here. Was once a place that i would die to eat in. It's still has some good food, quality has gone down. But really an authentic place to have punjabi food. Traditional making and open kitchen for you to look at. Hygiene.. aahh... debatable, but hey, if you have no qualms having the tapri/bandi pani puri then you will love this place too. Must try dishes are their light on stomach Veg Pulav and Their awesomely famous Salt Lassi, the taste is when they put the khara on the top. Must visit. If you like it you'll go back.
Vnm Sankar
I have been to this place many times, It's a normal old restaurant. This place is great for people who love non veg food personally love chicken Biryani and Sweet Lassi.
Goram Kubendernaik
food is very good
Swetha
Curry was not at all good, it tastes more like a pickle rather than curry and paneer pieces are also seems to be old and very hard.
Curry is also too oily.
Kinkirla Srikanth
quantity is very very low and very expensive...Not worth at all..will never order again and will not recommend
Nitesh Karela
Most hyped restaurant ...not worth at all..roadside fast food is far better than this restaurant ..i wanna give -100 ..not worhty at all.do not visit.
Kruthika Jaiswal
Taste was good but less paneer n less quantity according to price. I wish he could have followed instructions. Have extra green chilly sauce with curry.
Monika
If you're craving for some punjabi food you are insisted to visit this dhaba. An old Hyderabadi classic restaurant with same taste since ages. I've been visiting this place since my childhood and enjoy each and every dish here.
My most favorite is the tandoori chicken which has a very unique taste. In curries you must try the classic egg curry and chicken ashiana with their signature naan's.
And Biryani?? No doubt you'll love it!
One negative point is their ambience which is maintained in the same way since years which is disliked now. So they should work on it! :)
Jennifer Dominica Jantz
A friend of mine insisted we go to this place since some months. Today finally decided to try it out.
Have to say the food is just amazing, specially the full tandoori chicken with their special ginger garlic chutney.
Also tried the chicken sheek kabab it was great. Main course was chicken ashiana and roti. The flavour of the chicken was different not to spicy or sweet.
Do not expect great ambiance, it's a normal restaurant.
Giving 4 🌟 just for the food :)
It cost us 1000 for 3 people.
Poonam Thakur
Go there only for tandoori items these are good... My suggestion avoid main course and vegetarian stuff. The kali dal & butter naan were good though...
Harshitha Kumble
Chicken Ashiana is filled with flavor and not too spicy. ( It's not sweet either) goes great with the Tandoor rotis. Don't expect some fancy ambience. Just Good dhaba like food.
Sridhar Srivastav
The most awesome place when it comes to food. Have been going there since 30 years and never got bored. The most mouth watering foods are tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chicken biryani
Sonalika Reddy
MUST VISIT PLACE
5 starts for the taste
Though we have many places with different varieties of food which attract people towards them ,but here they serve regular traditional food with amazing taste.
I have been to this place many times ,I personally love chicken ashiana the pieces are so soft that they melt as soon as we eat and this is my all time favourite
This place is perfect to fullfill our tummy with yummy delicious food
Raheel Shaaz
if you are a muslim then be aware the meat served here, be it chicken or mutton is not halaal. vegetarian dishes are awesome and tasty..ambience is a bit claustrophobic
Rajesh Reddy
An old Hyderabadi classic. I haven’t had better tandoori rotis in most places even in delhi. Superb dal makhni. Very tasty baingan bharta. My all time favourite ginger chicken. So many more veg and non-veg dishes which are yummm. Great service. Verry budget ambience though. Must visit.
T.akila.mba
Don’t look at the ambiance , best place for non-veg food especially keema fry , chicken tandoori, butter chicken .... yes you will also enjoy the old melodies played and the waiters are really amicable .....
Shiv Varma
One of the best restaurants in Hyderabad ... This place serve best punjabi food butter chicken is finger licking . Tandoori rotis are purely made of atta they dont mix any maida flour to it . Coming to rice items veg pulao is the best . Lassi is the best which we get here. . This place never disappoint me .
K Ashwin Kumar
Delightful food with soothing old numbers from the bygone era, It was & is the best restaurant across Abids, but off late it is leaving a little pinch on the pocket...
Atif Syed
Ambience badly needs attention especially the family section
Service is good and prompt
Food is not great, wont pull me here again
Overall quality has been drastically deteriorated with time.

Overhyped!!!

Have visited this place yesterday i.e. Sunday late afternoon. Quite an old place just like other places in old cities because most of them don't disappoint and this was in my bucket list for so long, hence our expectation was high. Ambiance is not that great but still lot of place to accommodate at one time. They only except cash that is one issue.

Coming to food, we started with

Starters:
Tandoori Chicken - Under cooked dish, some part was burnt. It was good in taste but it should been cooked more which was not that good in mouth.
Apollo Fish - This was amazing in taste and everyone of us loved this one but it was too oily.
Loose Prawns - Same goes with this one, I found it really tasty but too much of oil ruined it completely.
Paneer 65 - It was good and loved the taste. Spice level was perfect too.
Veg Manchurian - Another oil issue but eventually in terms of taste I liked it.

Main Course:
Butter chicken - As the authentic Punjabi food, it has to be better but there was nothing like butter chicken.
Dum Ka Chicken - This has to be little spicy but this was completely led down for us. It was liked cooked in garlic paste only and been served to us.
Tandoori Paratha - It was actually lacha paratha which was topped with lot of ghee on the top, but gravy were not good.
Dum Aloo - Didnt liked it a bit.
Dal makhani - Such a disaster, I think they haven't tried dal makhani in North Indian part, horrible.

Lassi 🌟 - This one saved our day as it was good, nicely blended and not that sweet.

Eventually we cancelled our chicken biryani because gravy was really disappointing and as well as oil issues over all the dishes which we ordered. Service was really slow, quantity was less too. We have paid around 3000 bucks which was not value for money as per the experience we had. Eventually it turns out to be a bad decision.
Sindhu
*** I could have rated this place 4.5 easily, but the recent update in zomato doesn't allow to rate in decimals, hence sticking to 4 ***

In today's competitive world, people are trying put innovation in the dishes they prepare to attract and please customers. And there are few who stick to their traditional dishes which they are popular at, and keep making it more delicious day by day. What makes it more special? The love they serve with and the bond they develop with every customer that walks in.
One such place that I've come across is #SagarPapajiKaDhaba. Running from 3 decades, this place has won hearts of so many people that it's quite difficult to get a seat even on weekday lunches here! They are soon going to renovate the place for better comfort and ambience. Now that you know about the place, let's know about their signature dishes too -

We asked Ashmeet, proprietor of the place, for recommendations and he sent us chicken ashiana and kheema kidney liver. Chicken ashiana with thick & rich gravy dominated with cashew flavor and juicy boneless chicken - gives us a perfect reason why it stands in their signature dishes list.
Kheema kidney liver, a unique combination, is the highest seller in their menu and it really was lovely. No wonder this dish is hard to find in dinners as it runs out most of the times in lunches itself.

Did I mention about their lassi? You may think why I'm telling about lassi in between mains; well that's how most of the Punjabis would love to enjoy this drink. They have it along with the meals. We did try the same way. This lassi, unlike many, is a no nonsense one with no khova or dry fruits or whatsoever in it, its just churned out of curd with sugar in it. Not too sweet and not too mild - it was about right.

We have tried the curries with masala Kulcha - fluffy, perfect finish and did go very well with curries. Also tried their home style Dal Makhni - for people who doesn't like creamy, this is the one. Plain and Simple!

When there's biryani on the menu and we know that it's one of their better dishes, how would one miss a chance to give it a try!
Dum cooked biryani with aromatic and flavorful masala but cooked with Punjabi spices giving it a different flavor from the hyderabadi version. It was very good indeed!

The only dessert on their menu is Caramel Pudding and it's definitely tasty. Even after a heavy meal, I could enjoy this.

Do I need to give you more reasons to visit this place, if you haven't visited yet? Go, enjoy an economical and delicious meal 😋
Yashi Rastogi
The relics of Hyderabad.

Went to the family section to have a meal of lifetime :D Dum Aloo, Daal Makhani, Naan, Kulcha, Lassi - everything was authentic Punjabi style. Of course, the place is crowded. But again, the food is worth it.

This was my favouritee place and most go to place when i was in my school though the ambience is not good it was all worth because of its taste and flavours😍
Visited to this place recently a month ago after really long time. But dint feel the same old flavours no doubt the taste was good but not as best as it used to be earlier🙁
Still would wish to visit again and try once more.
Rohan - Total Foodie
Visited Sagar Papaji Ka Dhaba on Sunday afternoon for lunch. This place is famous for it's Punjabi style veg and non veg food. I could see people ordering more of non veg than veg. Coming to the food we ordered garlic kebabs, dal makhani, palak paneer, kheema fry and tandoori rotis. The garlic kebabs were nice and succulent, chicken was marinated nicely and cooked just right. Dal makhani was very creamy and tasted good. Palak paneer was a little underwhelming, nothing too great. Kheema fry was nice and spicy. The rotis were hot and crisp and service was quick. The place has 2 sections with family section inside. Pricing here is pocket friendly. Parking here is an issue as they don't have too much space around. Overall a decent meal, this place is great for people who love non veg food .

I would say, i have tasted the best tandoori chicken here, juicy and tastes best in town. If you are really food lover i believe place doesn't matter 👌🏻🤤

I am eating at this place I think almost after 15 years. The taste is exactly the same and even the ambience. Don't expect this place to be fancy. Budget friendly place. The places is famous for kebabs, tandoori, butter chicken and lassi. As I am back to hyd will visit this place often.

Butter chicken and mutton biryani stand out. Service is very good as well. No proper ambience though. It was very hot and there was no proper cooling. Can improve on the ambience.

Picture source: @houseoftasty on Instagram. Do follow, thank you!
4.5 for the taste.

Okay so in short the ambience is not something likeable but the food surely is something u r definitely looking for.

Must order: tandoori chicken, dal makhni, masala onions, loose prawns.
Dal makhni is creamy and thick. Personally it's my favourite. I sometimes visit this place just for the dal.
And don't forget to order #masala pyaaz. They charge extra for that. But doesn't matter. Definitely worth it.
Value for money✔️
Taste: 4.5
Ambience: crowdy 2/5
Service: 3.5/5.
Not many of them know about the masala pyaaz😎 so once u try u can thank me later!

People who like pudding should try it over here. It's real good.

This place had absolutely lost its charm. Used to be regular.
Service was bad as ever. Tried different food. They were just edible. Tandoori chicken was dry and as if microwaved before serving. Chicken curry was good, however biryani was absolutely dry and tasteless. Tried raita, it was sour. When asked to get better one, was told to us, that's what they have. Of all the things I am unable to digest that lassi was aweful. Apparently made from same curd and they blame the heat. A hidden gem located in the busy street of abids beside santosh dhaba.

A great place to have good delicious food.

This place have an ambience just like any other local restaurants in the city and nothing special about it and it was over crowded when we went here and thus took us a while to find a table for us.

After finding the table the biggest problem was to call on the waiter and give him the order.

Ordered their chicken sheekh kebabab, which was marvellous and this was the first time i had tried chicken sheekh kebab, tasted great. Chicken ashiana, which was great in taste. Butter chicken which was mediocre in taste. Kheema fry was good in taste and at last tried their chicken biryani, which didn't tasted like the biryani.

cheap place for food .. worth it.. quality food.. lassi is sooo tasty .. i dnt knw wat ingredients they mix with curd for preparing lassi bt while sipping it u will surely get the taste of the crushed ingredients mixed with the curd and dnt worry those r all blended properly so dnt think while having lassi it will stuck to ur throat... and biryani quantity is quite perfect for two people

Had a worst experience in Sagar Papaji Ka Dhaba. I have ordered an Masala Kulcha and told them that I will order an Alo paratha later. The waiter first jitters that you have to take some curry and Masala Kulcha doesn't goes in a table as a single order. He later get confirmed by the management that a Masala Kulcha cannot be ordered as single order. In a way they are forcing me to take an additional item
Which I do not intended to. Does this type of practise are still accepted in this digital world?

tried chicken biryani, was ok. expected more than this based on previous visits. Roti was little burnt. needs to improve on portion size which is very less for a person.

Though we go around this place a lot but never tried food at this place. Based on the reviews we landed at this place for Saturday night dinner.

Ordered panner butter masala and butter roties, they were tasty and as per dabha standards.

Next we ordered handi Biryani which was delicious.

Overall it was an Okayish experience.

Ambience : crowdy 3/5
Food 3.5/5
Wait staff : 4/5

Went here on a weekday lunch. Sat in the family section which had many fans and aircoolers blowing air like there was a storm. Managed to find a table where the food wouldn’t fly away :)

As soon as we seated the waiter placed some onion slices and an onion+mint+cilantro chutney. The chutney was unbelievably delicious. Never tasted anything like that before.

For starter ordered a full Tandoori chicken which was cooked very well, had no color and it wasn’t too spicy nor too bland. This place already stole my heart with the onion chutney and the tandoori chicken made it clear why this place is so famous.

DH who had been here many times during college days suggested we order 2 curries for the 2 of us as the portion sizes are small. And he was right :) Dalmakhni was finger licking good. It was served piping hot and I literally emptied every bit of it. I would have loved a little bit of cream on top of the curry though! DH got ginger chicken curry which was also fine.

Polished the curries with some rotis and a big glass of salted lassi. The lassi had the right consistency - not too thick and not too thin.

I can’t wait to take my kids to this place. A must visit when you crave soul satisfying dhaba food. Zomato isn’t showing a 4.5 rating now, so sticking to 4/5. But if not I would rate 4.5/5 for the food!

Woww.. went for a quick dinner here recently. The food justifies the word DHABA in here.Had their tandoori chicken, garlicnaan, cheese paneer naan with over generous amounts of butter on the top of them.Loved it.Butter chicken was really good. The egg pudding at the end was fine too.

A nice place to go if you're looking for some punjabi food. The food has changed alot now, it was a far more better place before than it is now. The ambience is not great but subtle. Service is quiet good but might be a little off on odd days. If you visit then have to try butter chicken , tandoeei chicken ,dal makhni and tandoori rotis to go with them. Lassi is great here😍 have to give it a shot.
