A Value for Money place serving good quality Chinese / Thai food Location : above Airtel office , Vinayak nagar, Gachibowli food court Ambiance : Well maintained, clean , neat and tidy Service : Needs improvement, language and comprehending the waiter was very difficult, had to call the manager to place the order. When we received our order we asked him to put the dish down so that we can take a pic and then serve us, he left never to come back , we served ourselves and finished it 10 min and there was no sign of him. Food: No complaints on this aspect. had ordered black pepper prawns which turned out to be good and flavorful , the garnishments were a little extra than I hoped but overall it was good. as we were not that hungry we directly went to dessert and ordered fried ice cream and date pan cake with ice cream . Fried ice cream had a little extra coconut zing to it on the outer coating otherwise it was fine. Date pancake was made just perfectly , not too crisp & not too soggy , was able to cut it into two pieces and have it with the ice cream easily. Looking at the entire menu and the items they serve , it is cheaper than most places, fresh lime soda for example is Rs.50 which is rarely available at this price at good upmarket Chinese or Indian outlets for that matter

I have been there with my Friends and brother. this place offers very good chinese food and ambiance to sit and talk. However this can be heavy on some individuals pocket. If you are a person who likes to talk and express them self and want to hear from others. you should vist this place.

We were having our dinner at Shanghai chef 2 Gachibowli, we received a cockroach in our food .worst restaurant and pathetic management . Just a horrible experience at the pathetic restaurant would never dine in and will never recommend it to anyone .

The owners should hire some quality managers to attend the tables instead of goin on each n every table n then calling the chef for recommendations. The taste of food is way below average. They need total revamp for interiors n quality of food. Definitely NOT goin again.

Had lunch here on Christmas eve. The place is small, kinda cosy. They have both Kobe and this one running out of same place. We had gone for sizzler actually but ended up eating Chinese. The food is the star of this place. The platter is really good in both taste and quantity. Had 5 varieties of starters. And well presented too. I can go this place again only for it! We also had pad Thai veg noodles. Well made and rightly spiced. Definitely worth a visit.

This is the 2nd week back to back we went to this restaurant. Ordered Tom Kha, Phuket fish and pan fried noodles in chilli oyster sauce. I had Tom Kha in many thai restaurants but this one was hands down the best one i ever tasted in India. Phuket fish and pan fried noodles were great too.<br/>Service is fast and all the servers are very courteous. Lastly, met with the owner Suhail bhai. Even though he was super busy managing the place(the place was packed and had waiting at 10.30 pm) he was gracious enough to take some time and explain us the food and how they are sourcing the Thai spices. Thanks Suhail bhai for such an amazing experience!

Went there for a Christmas dinner. We ordered spicy crab meat rice along with burnt garlic chicken and also seafood dumpling. Food was really delicious, specially the crab meat rice ...I loved it. So overall the tasty food and lovely hosting by Sohail made our Christmas night an awesome and memorable one.😊😊

Quantity was extremely less for Gold

Was there few months back but forgot to leave feedback. One particular staff member with a hippy haircut was outright rude. Vowed never to go back.

The food was really good I ordered a Chicken Nasi Goreng Nenas it was very tasty and a fresh lime soda sadly the fresh lime soda came in such a container I was totally surprised which age are you in guys? Does anyone send fresh lime soda in those same containers? I will click a picture next time and post it on Zomato if you say I am lying there was no time to do that but next time I will , the soda was gonna burst from the ordinary containers yes they packed in the same containers they pack the food I was shocked what if GHMC runs a check on you guys Im sure worse things will be found out like Paradise and other restaurants are fined ............ Was here last week on a weekday, for a lunch with a friend of mine. The place wasn't much crowded. Shanghai Chef and Kobe Sizzlers share the space and probably have the same management. The waiter handed us the menus from both the places.<br/><br/>Ambience at this place is decent. Service is above average. We ordered Veg dumplings, Honey chilli cauliflower and Thai green curry with steamed rice. Apparently, not all the items from their menu are covered under Zomato gold. Thai curries and some of their chef specials aren't a part of Zomato gold.<br/><br/>Honey chilli cauliflower tasted delicious. Wasn't the best Thai curry I ever had but was still above par. However, a suggestion that they serve jasmine rice instead of basmati rice. If you want to try proper authentic chinese food then this place is a must visit. We tried honey chill potato, phad thai noodles, kung pao chicken. All of then were just amazing delicacies. Also crispy potato and the dessert served at the last made our meal complete. I must add staff at the place where humble, polite and professional. Suhail just took care of us and was very courteous. In total it is a must visit place. You can go out with friends or family. 😊

The ambience with the combination of red and black furnishings on white background with stylish lights and wall arts gives this place a decent Oriental look. To refresh ourselves in that warm afternoon we started with some mockails some of which were cream as well, but then, I fell in love with "Fall In Love" 😍🥰 (mocktail). As I was late due to work, my friends had already started with Drunken Prawn soup and Crab Meat soups. I never had experience with seafood soups but I am glad to say that it didn't disappoint me. <br/><br/>Starters- I am not a dimsum lover but when I tried it here, I must say it was worth it. But one receipe that got all the attention was Volcano Chicken which was comfortably wrapped in a cloud of egg whites and yes that's the way to eat it with the egg whites.<br/><br/>Main course- With their huge variety of must try dishes the place offers a wide range of Pan Asian cuisine starting from Malaysian, Chinese, Burmese, Thai and so on. This was clearly visible, when us confused friends, were recommended to try- Phad Thai Noodles, Thai Green Curry with Steamed Rice, Nasi Goreng Fried Rice and Burmese Khow Suey. Each of these dishes were oozing with a flavours completely unrelated, differentiating each other and shouting out loud that it is a MUST TRY here. I am a Thai curry fanatic but didn't find any place in India that served the authentic recipe until I discovered this restaurant.<br/><br/>Desserts- Coming to the sweet part of this luncheon I tried something new- Darsan with Ice-cream and something known- Fried Ice-cream. Shanghai Chef is a fantastic Asian Chinese restaurant. The food is amazing, especially Phuket Fish and Black Pepper Chicken. Both dishes were tender and flavoursome. Momo's were amazingly done as well. Hope to try out more of there lovely dishes soon on my next visit.

Chinese cuisine is one of my all-time favourites, and I'm always searching for new places that serve Pan Asian food. And in my quest, I came across this amazing restaurant, and went on to try it out one fine evening.<br/><br/>The ambience is great, with nice dim lighting and environment very clean and hygienic. The vibes the place gives are just perfect. The staff is very courteous and prompt in service.<br/><br/>Everything here was great. Some of the must try items are Crab Meat Soup, Dimsum Basket and Phad Thai Chicken amongst many others. The soup was just mind blowing, a perfect appetizer. The dimsums were soft and spongy with the most delicious fillings. I just wanted more and more of these delights. Phad Thai Chicken from the main course was great. Perfectly cooked noodles with amazing flavours.<br/><br/>Chocolate Brownie Sizzler was the best amongst the desserts, a perfect end to an amazing dinner.<br/><br/>I had an amazing time here and will surely visit again, and recommend everyone to try it.

We were four friends and planning for lunch and one my friend suggest me to go to shanghai chef Gachibowli. We reached there, and I always look at the ambiance because it gives us positive vibes. The ambiance of Shanghai Chef was excellent, neat, and clean. Well-trained staff with their dress code were good to see.<br/><br/>We started our lunch with their special soups, crab meat soup, and drunken prawns soup. Both are new for me, but the crab meat soup was just mind-blowing the taste, and it was the first time I tried that soup, and we always say that the first impression is the last impression, and here the first impression was the best.<br/><br/>Then my friend ordered some starters volcano chicken, Phuket fish, dim sum basket, and oyster chicken. Volcano chicken was just lip-smacking, and this was the first starter dish we ordered, and it was only the best. The chicken was well cooked and top cover with egg and some veggies.<br/><br/>Then next we moved to their special dish that is Phuket fish.<br/>I am, the seafood lover where ever I go I must try seafood but here the Phuket fish which I had was just out of the world I never tried fish like this really must recommend dish at shanghai chef.<br/><br/>Then we ordered some main courses. In the main course, we ordered Nasi goring nen, Thai curry, and phad Thai chicken. Have come across such a place second tym in my life where food is good but whole experience is extremely bad because of rude staff.<br/><br/>We were group of five people who went for dinner. Since this place jointly works with Kobe Sizzler, the staff asked us to unlock gold for both restaurants. He noted down the number of both Zomato gold's and told that these will be applied. However at the time of billing, they denied that they told the same thing and refused to apply gold.<br/><br/>Instead of accepting mistake, their manager and staff started giving unnecessary logics. I don't understand if you don't have resources that you can allow people to access Zomato Gold, why you have Gold agreement with Zomato. You are just fooling customers and taking undue advantage by asking them to unlock gold and then claiming with Zomato. Such restaurants should be banned by Zomato as these places just want to extract money from customers!!<br/><br/>And yes, give your staff little training on how to behave with customers!!<br/><br/>Never ever visit this place!!

Shanghai Chef is a fine dining restaurant place specialized in Asian delicacies where you can experience the Chinese culture through their delicious food and neat,authentic ambience. This place is amongst the most popular Chinese restaurants in Hyderabad which serves very good quantity along with quality. It also offers authentic Thai & Burmese dishes as well. It is a go-to place for all and has a menu which caters to all kind of taste buds. They started from the restaurant located at Vinayak Nagar, Gachibowli and now one more outlet at Financial district & are coming up shortly with a third outlet. The restaurant is located in the most popular lane of Indiranagar Gachibowli, just above HDFC bank & they have done some interesting additions to their menu. The new items include starters as well as main courses. I had the chance of going to this place for trying out couple of these items on the menu. The new additions offer fresh choices to the fans of Chinese food in Gachibowli. This was a bit blank in terms of flavour which can be improved with the combination of spices.<br/>4. Assorted Dimsums - An amalgamation of Kothe, Shu Mai & Szechuan dumplings, all of which equally tasted well in terms of flavours.<br/>5. Crab Meat Soup & Drunken Prawn Soup - Minced crab meat cooked in a thick spicy garlic flavoured soup which tasted absolutely marvellous. Prawn chunks cooked in a thick spicy garlic & spinach flavoured soup which tasted equally delicious.<br/>6. Grass Hopper - A combination of Khush syrup, crushed litchi, dash of lime & topped with 7up.<br/>7. Fall in Love - A combination of crushed strawberry, dash of lime with sugar syrup. This was the clear winner among the two beverages as it tasted so refreshing which can be also stated as a Pure Detox drink.<br/>8. Burmese Khow Seuy - Steamed noodles with Burmese styled curry served with condiments. This dish instantly made us remember Goa as the taste of coconut milk in the curry was so rich and flavourful. Although the name of the dish is from different region altogether, the dish was simply a straight six.<br/>9. Oyster Chicken - Chicken chunks cooked till perfection in authentic Hong Kong Oyster sauce.<br/>10. Nasi Goreng Rice - Fluffy rice which was sauteed with assorted veggies with meat of your choice. This dish tasted awesome in terms of the flavours which were spinning around. A must try when at Shanghai Chef.<br/>11. Thai Green Curry with Steamed Rice - Chicken chunks cooked in coconut milk, Green curry paste which was served with Steamed rice & tasted equally well. The flavours of the green curry & coconut milk popped out as soon as we ate it.<br/>12. Phad Thai noodles - Flat Noodles sauteed with fresh veggies, peanuts and meat/seafood of your choice. This was one of the good Phad thai noodles I have tasted in Hyderabad.<br/><br/>After having such a start with some great entrees and delicious mains, it was the moment of truth wherein I was looking forward to the finale of the meal aka dessert & my meal is just incomplete without it. We were presented with some great & quite authentic dessert which fitted into the menu aptly. Here's presenting the list of desserts:<br/><br/>13. Chocolate Rush - A beverage consisting of Pineapple juice, chocolate sauce topped with vanilla ice cream.<br/>14. Fried Ice cream - Breaded scoop of ice cream that was quickly deep fried thereby giving a warm, crispy shell around the chilly ice cream inside.<br/>15. Daarsan with Vanilla ice cream - A Chinese snack which is mainly honey dipped chips was served with vanilla ice cream. This restaurant in Indiranagar, Gachibowli has the best standard and consistently serving good foods with best quality. We know Hyderabad for foods but outside almost everywhere we find foods are very oily and spicy. Shanghai chef has maintained very classy feel about Chinese and dishes are prepared with very care and love. One thing to mention like we see there are differences of quantity and quality when you order from a restaurant and you eat there. But I ordered multiple times from this place and always found like fresh from the kitchen. Just try dishes like dimsum, chicken sizzlers, 5 jewel fried rice, kung pao chicken, pad thai noodle etc! The hospitality of the owner and staffs are very professional and we'll behaved.

They Cook Food separately for Zomato Gold customers and normal customers u can understand it in taste and quality. They cook very cheap quality food for Zomato Gold Customers, because they claim because of Zomato Gold they need to give meal free

I visited this place with a expectation that Chinese food would be good but the Chinese chopsuey that we ordered was not at all good but other dishes like fried rice and starters were average.

The food maaannnn, all of it is spot on extravaganziously delicious. From starters to soups to noodles and all of maincourse, this place has you covered with a very wide variety of fantastic offerings.

I'd ordered the chicken oyster sauce, spice crab fried rice and sesame chilli chicken.<br/>The food quality was average with no distinct or unique flavours but more common ones that you can find anywhere.<br/>The food did taste a bit off however, and boy was I right. For the next night and day my stomach had more waves than the sea.<br/>I did a little research and found that the place had already been called out on hygiene before. Please be careful when eating Chinese food outside, especially ANY form of seafood!

The food though not extraordinary was good and Phuket fish was awesome!! Biggest negative is the service. They take a looot of time to prepare the dish that adversely affects the experience despite the good ambiance they provide. Apart from that, it's worth a place to hang out with pals!!

We went to the first floor confused whether to go to Shanghai Chef or Kobe's, later to realise they are in the same restaurant (i.e they share floor space). We decided to order Chinese. We had the DimSum platter (3/5), Kung Pao Chicken (2/5), Dragon Prawns (2/5) and Fried Ice Cream (4/5). The chicken was hard inside (not indicative of fresh chicken), the prawns were sweet and the DimSums had thick coatings. I did not enjoy my time at Shanghai Chef. So maybe when you're there, just try the Sizzler. Ill update my review when I have it.<br/>Kobe's is a really famous chain for Sizzlers.

They have a wide range of food offering. Nothing much to talk about ambiance. I visited this place 2 times in a week. 1st time ordered a sizzler which was fantastic.  2nd time we had a chicken stater, soup and a american chopsuey. Soup and starter was good but sea food American Chopsuey was not good. Being a person from coastal area I can tell if sea food is fresh or not, and boy, the prawns were not fresh that is for sure. All and all its a causal dinning if you crave for some variety of Asian food.

Stale food and indigestible noodles. Please don't visit here if you don't want to fall sick. The chicken was dry and uncooked , the noodles was sticky and under cooked. Felt the items were reheated as it was served way quicker than expected.

Location wise it is placed in a prime location, centre of IT area, Gachibowli. Food was so delicious, only if you like Chinese flavor, else don't visit. Interior ambience was not so cool, very ordinary. Different kind of soups and dimsums are available at reasonable prices.<br/>Great place to hangout, but if you are planning to visit in weekend then prebooking is recommended.

Its a casual place for good chinese food. The ambience is a bit dull, but the food is okay. Service is ok. Have been here on multiple occasions and have liked the food they serve.

It's a duo restaurant where you can have Chinese and sizzlers together available at one place .... well quantity is much less compared to price and taste is not that good though as Chinese should be at that price...

Shanghai chef and koba sezler both are same restaurents but dont know why in zomato it ia showing as different. You can try this restaurent with friends to taste different chinese varities.

Small little Chinese joint. Good courteous staff and tasty food. Low on your pocket as well. Located in Gachibowli. Used Zomato gold which was absolutely value for money here

I have ordered food online, Veg Chilly Garlic Noodles and Honey Chilly Potato. The taste was pathetic. In chilli garlic noodles, there was no garlic. And Honey potato noodles, they have made French fries and put a sweet syrup on it. Looks like chief does not know how to cook this dish.

I've been to Shanghai Chef 2 quite a few times now. Twice before Kobe Sizzlers moved in and once after. It has great staff and a wonderful ambience. It gets busy over the weekend and you might have to reserve a table beforehand. Their sizzlers are wonderful and they have a great set of starters. I would suggest you try them over the main course.

Service was pathetic and staff was absolutely rude and not open for feedback. service is one area where management has to focus on at least as per my experience. Definitely not a place that I will ever visit again with the kind of experience, not that there was any argument or anything it was very cold.

This place is amazing! The food is really tasty, especially the chef recommended. The owner, Suhail, is very courteous and professional. He suggested some great stuff to try and customised the food as per our requirements.<br/>

Shanghai Chef has always been the place to go for Chinese fast food. They have a good choice of menu and the food is great. I highly recommend having the crab fried rice and the diced chicken in oriental sauce. America’s chopsuey is equally tasty.

This is one go to place for us for authentic Chinese food and it does always stand by my expectation.<br/><br/>We have visited it in past and have always loved the food.<br/><br/>This time we tried some nice salt and pepper vegetable starter which was okish..as I found it to be a little bland..( that's why there is one less star).<br/><br/>We tried Veg Manchow soup which was amazing.<br/><br/>Khao Soi was the main dish we ordered and was again bang on.<br/><br/>Ambiance is pretty much simple yet nice.<br/><br/>Food is amazing. It has indoor sitting available with beautiful lights and music in the background. Sitting arrangement includes couch and chairs.<br/>Food-<br/>We placed an order for Sesame Chilli Chicken as it was mentioned as Must Try starter in the menu. Sesame Chilli contained a large amount of chilli chicken topped with sesame seeds and served with Salad, which tasted somewhat sweet. Sesame Chilli Chicken cost approximately INR 280. We also placed an order for Khao Phad Kruptao in rice item, which included fried rice topped with Spicy gravy contained spinach and capsicum cost approximately INR 290. Shanghai Chef 2 offers 1+1 dish on Zomato Gold membership.<br/>Service-<br/>Service was very quick and the staff was very polite.

It's a small place with nice ambience and comfortable sitting. The service was quick and people were friendly. The noodles we ordered were okay, and the veg kung Pao was good. It's a nice place for a casual hangout and Chinese food.

Restaurant serves stored food. Today I visited to have fried ice cream but it's not fresh. They prepared the food long back and just kept it refrigerated. It's not fresh. When I asked for any manager in the place, there is no Manager available. Worst experience ever. I would not prefer it to anyone.

A small place with with dim lighting and gives the feel of romantic dinner table. At first we thought it's a good budget friendly restaurant for Chinese food in gachibowli. Food tasted good and so was the presentation. we were enjoying our food and suddenly we heard people arguing with Waiter over something. And to our horror when we find out they had found cockroach in their food our experience turned into nightmare. They should maintance the hygiene of their kitchen.

It is a good restaurant for Chinese food in Gachibowli.we did order food and starters from here and loved the quality and quantity. The staff were all friendly n ambience was decent. Only problem was that their card swipe machine was not working.but overall a good experience in Hyderabad n will visit again to have Chinese food in the landof biriyani.

Food was not that not at all good .. just not able to have the name that they have got ..<br/>I have ordered 2 items and was thinking to have more but by seeing the tase and planes to shift other place .<br/>I have ordered chicken fried rice and I see chicken was not that well cooked and I can see chicken skin been used as that same have complained to management and they told me they use skin less chicken and they this might be a miss and told will change the order and they have replace it and again I got the new one but I was again I was disappointed to see the same mistake .. <br/>

The portions were quite good also the dumplings were pretty impressive. Though the wait time was a bit too long, but overall we had a good time.

The Overall Rating present for this restaurant doesn't justice the experience (will come to this in a bit)<br/><br/>So, a small almost cute little place tucked in first floor with ambient lightings turned on (to give romantic dinner table feel) and apt audible english chartbusters couldn't go any wrong with setup and restaurant proudly own this.<br/>With this as a beginning, shanghai chef takes the dinning experience to whole new diff level which is confusing at its best. Waiters are surely not in the mood to offer appropriate tables to guests, not aware of all the food which is getting prepared in kitchen, not aware of all the 'Must Try' dishes of their own menu & most of all courtesy seems to have been left at the mercy of the servers. Like an example, since its not a fine dining we can't expect servers to serve your food left in the bowl again but same server at one table doing the same thing neglecting other tables left too much to be desired. This was the case, when a cockroach was found in one of the guests food and staff tried to avoid the scene blaming it to fate.<br/>On the food side, crispy corn was good but avoid maonchow soup. Flat noodles also served just warm that too after enquiring multiple times.Also, Service takes the beating even if just half tables are filled.<br/><br/>So, coming back to first line. The rating is probably for food only, go at your own risk if your are looking for experience !

Not a great place. It has ok ambience and good hospitality but the food isn't great. I've tried America chicken chopsuey, it's different from other chopsuey's out there and it's just average. I've tried the tei pei chicken starter and it was not great, the starter was not skinless and also the chicken was very chewy making it difficult to swallow. I've heard that momo's over here are good but I didn't want to try. Overall I wasn't satisfied.

I love Thai red curry here. Awesome Chinese food. So many options to try different foods. Ambience is good and staff is very friendly and recommend different varaities.

Nice ambience. Courteous staff. Best place to have good Chinese menu. Starters was very good and the main course has good quantity and quality. Order will take some time to come.
