Review Dakshina Mandapa - Hyderabad

Srivishnu Kalavala
It’s a good pure vegetarian buffet option for someone who is looking for buffet! Even it’s budget friendly compared to many other buffet restaurants! On weekdays it is priced at 550 plus gst! Payment options are upi, card and Dineout are available and u will get discount on payment through Dineout app! Food was good, two kinds of welcome drinks, two soups and two starters were there! Love counter had chat like pani puri dahi puri bhelpuri and sev puri, along with a paneer item although menu in live counter will be changing day be day taste seems to be good! People serving food need to be careful! Main course was routine!

It's a very good place for pure vegetarian buffet at a budget friendly pricing. The ambience was aesthetic with live music. The Flutist played amazingly. If you want to spend a quality time with your family and have some good food this is the place. They have a chat counter, Dosa counter, the starters and soup are served fresh and hot.

Best place to have vegetarian buffet on a weekend. Costs around 550+ tax per person. Starters and soup provided at table. Live classical music is performed. Amazing ambience and great service by the staff. Be sure to get there by 12:30 PM to avoid waiting. Vallet parking is available.

Tasty Vegetarian breakfast , Lunch and dinner with lot of varieties.

I love the idea of a buffet breakfast especially on a Sunday!! And these guys have such a wide variety of South Indian options - and they have great taste too! For INR 300, it's super cheap with the quality of food there is. They have the typical South Indian options - (cute little) mini dosas, idli, vada, pongal etc, with 3 different options for chutneys -- very delicious! Other options are fruits, porridge, parathas. One section which sort of doesn't go with the vibe is the one with bread-y options. Though they're just 2-3 options like strudels, fruit cake etc, it's seemed like it's been kept for people who may not prefer south indian food. They were very average by taste as well. So can do without that option. Oh, the kesri bath is YUM. I was unfortunately too stuffed with the rest of the delish food, but definitely try the kesri bath! Came here only once, look forward to coming here more often. :)

Food was excellent, ambience was great only the starters were served a bit late and naan and kulchas were served only when they were asked for!!! On the whole worth the price with many dishes. They charged ₹570/ per person including taxes. Paan charges are extra. To conclude we had a great memorable day👍👍 sorry I am not sure with the correct price of the buffet, but close to the above mentioned price.

Excellent Food .. Yelneer Payasam and pahadi paneer were too good and a must try

One of the very good -Vegetarian Only Buffets- in Hyderabad. Although it is Dakshina Mandapa they also serve Flat Indian Breads( Tandoori Rotis, Naans etc ) . Lunch Buffets every day. Good spread of Salads and Desserts. Only walk ins on Saturday and Sunday & First Come First Served. Other weekdays they accept Reservations. Tasty Starters & Soups.

Located on SD Road and attached to Taj Tristar, it's quite a large restaurant. Dine-in is available with all post-COVID precautions. I went there because it had been highly recommended, and after reading the reviews. I would rate the decor, the general ambience highly, the service exemplary, (I didn't have to wait much, neither to get the order fulfilled, nor for refills), but somehow I didn't feel that the food was as good as the reviews suggested. No doubt it was good and worth the price, but it didn't match my expectations. The menu has several items, purely vegetarian cuisine, depending on the time of the day. I found the prices to be pretty reasonable and competitive with similar establishments in the twin cities.
Sekhar R
The best buffet. They have good variety food and everything tasted good. Gongura rice, deserts, noodles, starters, soup are my fav. Their hospitality is top notch. Will definitely visit it.
Divya C
A good restaurant with reasonable prices (550 for buffet) with decent range of food items. Quality and Quantity of food was good, but could be better. Friendly staff and excellent service. Ambience was fine with comfortable wooden seating. Special mention to the flutist for the pleasant music.

Some places take your heart in first visit only. This restaurant is one of that kind. We went there very hungry. And it filled our hearts. The restaurant basically remains open 24*7. We have been there for breakfast in which South Indian was available. We had rawa dosa and poori bhaji. Both were very yummy and cheap in price. Then we had filter coffee twice. I have never had such coffee. It was awesome. The bill was very nominal too. I suggest you..if you are Hyderabad and feeling hungry.. straightway go to TMH restaurant.

Was amazed to see the quality of food they are serving at a very reasonable amount

Loved the food at this place. Had lunch buffet with my family and every one loved all types of dishes. I requested to serve starters with out garlic for my aunt and uncle and they served special starters with out garlic. Really liked it.

Dishes I liked most were biriyani, fried rice, dosa types, noodles

I really suggest this place to others ...

Had heard a lot about this place. Tried buffet on weekday. Just two starters and desert spread was good. Decent veg buffet
Annapurna Sista
Worst Food and served stale food, staff are not also worst.
The staff are not concerned, if water/tissue papers are placed in the table
Only the ambiance was good & the live music was good.

Very good place for a buffet dinner. Very wide spread of dishes, good taste. This place is generally crowded on weekends, so be early to avoid waiting.

One of the best vegetarian restaurants in the city. They have largest buffet on weekends. Starters were good. Welcome drinks are tasty. Live counters have wide variety of items like chats, Dosas etc.

Staff is courteous. Ambience is awesome. Live carnatic music was like icing on the topping.

One of the best when it comes to Pure Vegetarian food in the City of Nizams. Was here for the buffet dinner last weekend. The welcome drinks were delicious, especially the panakam. The starters were average, expected a lot variety and taste. The chat items were average. Dosa from the live counter was amazing, especially the chutney. Most of the main course dishes were pretty average. Sambhar and Dal were delicious and I enjoyed it with steaming hot white rice. Desserts were like any other place, the difference was in the cold stone ice cream. Though they have only vanilla flavour, they can mix-n-match and serve up something good. Overall a decent experience. Read the entire experience on the blog.

Went for the lunch buffet with a Vegetarian friend. Being a non vegetarian I was surrounded by a section (veg) which I usually avoid looking for in a buffet menu. But my friend enjoyed everything. I found myself comfortable with food and tried all. While coming out of the restaurant, I asked my friend about experience she just said one line which I felt to be worth writing in a review, "Kushal! It just reminded me of my mom and grandma's cooking". What else satisfaction could a restaurant give to it's customer.
At the end even I enjoyed the food.
If you are vegetarian, then this is a heaven.
We were here for a birthday treat of a friend and we tried the buffet lunch of this restaurant.

To start with, they gave us Strawberry milk shake and Virging Mojito in the drinks menu.
Then we were offered two shorbas as appetizers.

In snacks, they brought veg seekh kebab, paneer tikka: both of them were good.
There was a live chat counter where you could get Sev poori, Bhel poori and Masala dosa.
We tried those chaats and they were lip-smacking.

In main course, they had limited options in North Indian curries but the whole spread was overwhelming.
Right from corn, onion, masala papad, dahi bhalla, to Biryani, panner curry, mini idli, everything was good in taste and we had a good time having these while good conversations with the team.

The main highlight of the lunch was the desserts sections in which they had Ras malai, cake, gulab jamun, ice cream, rasgulla and many more dishes which we couldn't count.
Our sweet tooth was overwhelmed by having all these delicacies in one meal.

All in all, this is a good place if you are looking for a vegetarian buffet in the city of Nizam.
Hayavadan Rao / The DeccanFoodie
One place that you can always trust when it comes to serving good food! The number of items on the buffet are a lot. They serve the same items that are generally there on a buffet menu . Though it's a little crowded always. Waiting for a table at Dakshina Mandapa is worth the wait.

*Late post* Yesterday’s lunch scene - felt a lil pricy @550/- plus taxes, with a welcome drink, only 2 starters, main course and desserts served. Liked the chilli vegetables chops, was crispy on the outside and soft inside, perfectly flavoured 👌🏻. Not a fan of gobi but friends liked the gobi tandoori as well. Among the chat items, Pani puri, dahi papdi, Chinese bhel were too good. Bhelpuri was so, so. Masala dosa and ragi dosa, were as usual, great. I have always loved the dosas at Taj Mahal, been my favourite since childhood ☺️. A lot of options were there in main course, tried only the methi malai corn and shahi paneer. Liked the former, latter was okayish. Masala paneer kulcha was yumm. Desserts - basundi and the moong dal halwa were the show stoppers for me😍. Service was a tad slow in the beginning but picked up later on. Though I really wish they atleast add up a couple more starters in the menu. Good option for those who are pure vegetarians.. #Friendsgettogether #Yummyinmytummy

Fine dine restaurant...!!

Ambience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My second restaurant visit in Hyderabad. As i was on a trip to Hyderabad with my family and i am a foodie too so i keep on exploring things around me. I found this place on Little app as they were giving buffet vouchers with good discount so grabed it for me and my family.

As soon i reached here i was welcomed very nicely by their
management. On redeeming my deal we settled down and were eager to try their food.

Service here was quick too as soo as we settled down we were served with welcome drinks and starters on table and main course followed by dessert was on buffet system. Staff was always on their toes and happy to serve.

We started with soups , starters and welcome drink followed by live counters preparing dosa with different varieties as well as two types of sandwich. Later on we tried huge variety of maincourse follwed by dessert. Ice cream was also a part of dessert.

Really enjoyed their food and their hospitality, would love to come back anytime i visit Hyderabad again. Highly recommended...!!

Umpteen times I have been here with my husband. Every time they have lived upto my expectations and made sure we had a great lunch/ dinner. On weekends (not sure on a weekday) they have live classical music playing and that just adds to the beauty manifolds. Even a non-vegetarian would love this place and the plesant relaxing vibe of this place (Note: this place is pure veg). Recommended!!

I think for Vegetarians it is a decent restaurant with a good spread of food. My family likes the food here. They do take care of your needs and staff is prompt and polite.

Amazing food, great live music. Most importantly very cooperative and courteous staff! We came here with a large group and were tended to very well
Thank you so much for a great experience :) !

Are you a vegetarianian?? Looking for some sumotuous south and north Indian veg fare? Do you want a quite nice place with a pleasant view?? Then go and strut yourself into this one. They have a huge buffet in the afternoon although a bit of high price but hey, totally worth it. They have minimum of two soups and starters and salads and what not. Got a live counter for dosas and pastas. The live counter menu keeps changing so you May check on that. The button idlis with sambhar is a must try item. And if you have a sweet tooth, then have enough and more to gorge on. True veggies, please do yourself a favor, throw yourself here once in a while and go for the binge.

This one was indeed a very blissful dining experience. I was happy to see the big and wide spread variety of dishes. Totally loved the way podis were put to display and served. Even the dessert section was great. A perfect dining delight for a pure vegetarian.

Food: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Raghavender Srirampur
Highly overrated place. The buffet was cold and 4 induction stoves were not working. In spite of informing the same, the manager was trying to convince that the food was if not hot At least warm.
Sujatha
The Dakshin serves south India cuisines from across 5 different states. The menu offers a great choice and service is something that one will always remember! A MUST TRY if you are at Hyderabad.
Akhila Paidipati
Visited this place as pass by for breakfast. This is absolute best place for south indian pure vegetarian breakfast. There were couple of options to look in menu especially for tiffins. Good taste especially the sambar 😋
**Price worthy
**Good ambience
**Good service

Food: 5
Service: 4
Ambiance: 4.5

The Best and the Largest Vegetarian buffet of the city is what I think of it. Just go and enjoy the food :)
It has a wide varieties of dishes and no complains about any of it! Great food and good service.

I was super set on eating a ‘set dosa’ for dinner, but the long queue and unreal wait times redirected our party to the dinner buffet upstairs. We sat down anticipating a decent meal, but the ‘missing customer service’ clued us into the lackluster affair that was going to follow. After a long wait, our meal started with a lukewarm shorba, some edible paneer and not so crispy aloo crisps. The paneer and palak-corn curries were definitely below average. The dessert counter was super shabby and not appetizing at all. This was probably the first time in my life that I ended up not having any desert after my meal, and I’ll make sure this is the last time!!

I had initial apprehension for visiting this place for a celebration, but when I stepped in the ambiance dragged me in. When the started serving welcome drink and starters my opinion changed. The spread for their buffet was vast and elegant covered various cuisines. Do no miss their signature button idly and also try Sambar rice something that will keep you having extra food that you usually do. I went on a weekday and the only place I found they could improve was on staff presence and also they missed getting my order which was from one of their live counter. Overall experience was good.

Visited this restaurant on our marriage anniversary. Ambience was pretty good. Staff were happy to serve the customers. All the items were tastier. Live Dosa counter was good. A very good experience. I felt the best among all the vegetarian restaurants I visited.
Almost after 2 years, I visited the same restaurant. I am unable to find the same taste. Hence, my rating changed from 5 to 4.

We usually go to TMH@ jubilee hills on Sundays and this time, we just happened to try out their buffet upstairs @ dakshina mandapa. I must say it was a pleasant change, although slightly as I usually order the TMH thali downstairs and some of the options seemed familiar/ similar. I had the usual veg curry, naan, veg biryani, dosa and the paneer and babycorn options for starters and enjoyed the Tawa panner. Tip: if you crave for a paneer dosa or likes, just have the paneer off the tawa with the hot crispy dosa made on the live counters. The only disappointing thing were soups and fruit punch, but I must admit I never fancy any of these things at such places anyway. In desserts, tried the khalakhan, halwa and gulab jamun with ice cream which were quite good enough.
Overall: if you are stuck deciding between dosas and a thali, buffet @ dakshina mandapa is the place to go for, plus you also get dessert options too.

Visited there last night for dinner with a friend. Though am not a vegetarian but heard about the food joint so wanna give it a try. The ambiance is good and decor is simple yet sober. Staff are really courteous. Thumbs up to them. Coming to the food menu lots of verity are there in buffet. Love the food. Aloo methi, Paneer korma was good whereas Kashmiri veg prep lid little bland in taste. I liked their veg biriyani not too much spicy. In dessert section verity was there. But all are same in taste. So have to change the selection.
Aanchal Khemka
We have been here before as well for ala carte and this time thought of trying out buffet.

Buffet was a reasonable spread with live counters of idli and dosa and veg sandwich.

The starters had crispy veg, kebabs , dahi bhalla, pani puri and dahi puri. Besides this the drinks served bottoms up we're litchi juice and grape juice

The main course had Chinese , three vegetables and curd rice, plain rice, biryani.

Over all it was a decent buffet spread with not a very huge variety but the food was delicious.

Service was prompt and servers were very quick and nice.

Ambiance of the place is also good.

All in all a place which can be tried on a day where you just feel like cooking and don't want to go to some place which is meant only for occasion.

This place is recommended for the delicious food they served.
Mahesh Chalamcharla
Went here for buffet with family. The starters were good and even the main course didnt disappoint. The tiffin section and sambar can be rated best. Though Some might feel that there are less number of dishes than compared to ABs or BBQnation, its a nice place where elder family members can enjoy the food.
As promised I'm back with a review on Dakshina Mandapa.

After my experience with Flavours of Taj Mahal which is in the ground floor of the same building, I was eager enough to try their buffet spread. And when I did, maybe it's the right time. It can't get any better! Thanks to Little !

Dakshina Mandapa is unique atleast when compared to the restaurants I visited so far.

Restaurant is spacious for people to walk around. Don't really have to hush and rush.

Getting into details.

1. There are two Veg Soups which you can blindly ignore. They will for sure will disappoint your start.
2. Starters aren't great too.
We were served with Gobi Manchurian if I'm not wrong and a Veg Cutlet only used for a number count.
3. Dakshina Mandapa needs a special mention for its wide Main Course and Dessert spread.
4. Soupy Noodles , Veg Fried Rice , Button idly, Dosa followed by Breads and a few more to add.
5. People tend to enjoy their Main Course and Desserts.

Once in a while, I would say Yes for this.

Food : 4/5
Ambience : 4.5/5
Recommend : Yes

A good option for veggie buffets in Hyderabad but I expected a bit more in the food taste and options also ...if that is improved this would be the best budget friendly veg buffet places ...

Always loved to eat at Dakshina Mandapa. Good food collection, staff is very kind and polite. Been here multiple times with family for lunch buffets. Food tastes great here.
Akshat Agarwal
It was not bad, but did not live up to my expectations. The starters were lacking , main course was ok. In the deserts, the moong daal halwa was terrible. It had sugar syrup like texture for some reason.
Krishnapriya Ambekar
I tried buffet here once..
Welcome drinks were good fruit punch n guava flavor..
Starters only 2 n were cold so not upto the mark..
Dosa is good but button idli was nt hot..
Paneer Curry they keep live counter n do well..
Other rice items and sweets were ok ok ..
Santosh Ramana
A real decent place for green dots. Well known for their breakfast buffet. I have at least been over 20 times here, stopped counting after that. Service is always delightful. Nice place. Fill marks for food.

1. Food was good. The starters were over salted. Some main course items especially the subzis were spicy. Great selection of items, especially desert.
2. Ambiance was decent. I do not like to sofa setup as every time the middle person needs to refill from the buffet, the adjacent person needs to get up. This is common sense and should not be designed as such (-0.5).
3. Location is very good. You get a nice view of KBR park from the windows.
4. Price - fair price for the selection but the quality of items was not great.

Ambience - 3.5/5
Location and Parking - 4.5/5
Food Quality - 3.5/5
Food Variety - 4.5/5
Price - 3/5
Service - 3.5/5

The legacy of Taj Mahal hotel continues in Jubilee Hills. After being a loyal customer at Secunderabad, this was the first time for me at trying the lunch buffet.

The spread for the lunch buffet is outrageously good. The baked corn, desserts and sweets were delicious. Special mention for the kalakhand. It melts in your mouth...The quality of the food is vintage Taj. Overall a perfect experience. Can't think of any negatives....A must visit (especially for vegetarians) in and around Jubilee Hills.
Ajitkumar Sudke
Excellent ambience. Food was excellent. The button idlis is something you should not miss. Ice cream choices are also good. Good place to celebrate birthdays 🎉 and anniversaries.
Satya Nayak
I went to this restaurant with my family for dinner, I went there after seeing review in zomato. They serve only 2 veg starter with soup which was cold infact. Main course I did not like anything they had. I am a person who loves south Indian buffet but I did not find d anything such kind of. I can just say this place is just too much over hyped in terms rating.

Food - 1/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
Service - 5/5
Price according to food - 1.5/5

Personally I won't visit this place again.
Govindaraghavan S
We had buffet lunch here on 21/12/2016. Found the food quite good. There was a wide variety food available. The ambience and service were also very good.
Sanjay Akondi
Place where authentic south India vegetarian food is being served.
We have been searching for good south India restaurants that serves good dishes. This is perfect place with a fusion of north and Chinese dishes. Great taste and good quality.
I wanted to give 5 but service as pest is what has stopped me. Overall a decent experience.
Shashidhar
Very few items in the buffet menu
All of them are good including the welcome drink
Pani puri and dosa counter also available at this place
Value for money we can say
Apoorva Chandra
Located right above the Flavours of Taj Mahal. Vegetarian buffet doesn't disappoint. Ample varieties of vegetarian dishes to relish. Multiple varieties of Dosas. Good number of deserts.
Would love to go again!

First of all am not a vegetarian fan.

Ambience is decent

Coming to food , they serve 2 soups and 2 starters at the table. Soup is average and I liked paneer starter very much it is too soft and yummy.

Dosa , Dahi Vada & Sambar idly is good and in main course they have different varieties but I like only Veg biryani it spicy and good.

Most of the items in main course are cold which is why I didn't like them much.

Desserts they have a decent spread and most them are sweets like carrot halwa , 2 types of jamoons and different Bengali sweets.

Ice cream is good but needs some improvement in flavours.

Overall very decent restaurant for vegetarians at reasonable price point

Amazing south Indian veg food. Especially they are serving thali,Biryani, nice buffet lunch and u will get break fast items whole day. They serve nice southindian coffee.the ambiance and service is good.

Chirag Dhawan
this place has both a-la-carte and buffet separately. I went there for buffet. This place is pure veg. Ambience is ok. Service is good. Food is good. Soup and starters are not that wow, just ok. But chat items and live counters are good. Main course is nice and desserts too. waiters are polite and overall a decent experience
Soum.chava
Went for the lunch buffet today. And This was a highly disappointing experience.

I have visited their branch in SD road and had high expectations when I walked in here.

Let's just say the start with Pina colada and the end with ice cream was good. But everything else in the middle was very bad, tasteless and disappointing. You get glimmers of hope when you taste the bhel puri and the button idly, but that's what it is a glimmer of hope. I pretty much filled my stomach with bhel puri.

Their service stops at clearing the plates when you get up for a serving. I had to ask three times for water and the next time I had to scream to get my glass refilled.

I can't believe the crowd that comes in here for this food. Maybe because there are not enough pure veg restaurants that offer buffet.

The price - 600 AI is exorbitant for the food they served and the service provided.
Would never recommend or go back to this place.

Subhash Chandra
Great location, good south indian fare but when it comes to soups/apppertisers/main course/chat highly disappointing as most of them are bland and considering its Tajmahal brand had high expectations as well. Even deserts were dry or over sweet. All in all average buffet and considering the price tag of 600 AI not the best in terms of VFM for a verg buffet.

Its the place dakshina mandapa.. Morning times breakfast in tajmahal... And lunch in that multi cuisine restaurant... But the thing is..its a casual dining one...
However my visit made me memorable.. The place on the corner side was.. Pretty good.. Where i can see the kbr park.. Road.. Finally.... Its a good day here

Heard a lot about this place from fellow foodies and was Bookmarked from a longtime and visited today finally for dinner..
Being in 1st floor of Tajmahal hotel, Jubiler hills.. was well decored and bright lighted.. Perfect ambience to have food with family.
Unfortunately i was the only customer in the restaurant during my dinner session.. Started my food with cucumber and kiwi flavoured drinks..
Out of two soups, i preferred and tasted hot & sour.. which is good.
Two starters are very tasty, gobi and potato varieties.
Generally i skip potato in starters.. Here i had it twice which is perfectly roasted and amazing with pudina chutney..
Pani puri is available which is ok..
Frankie is served on table and its made from live counter and can serve on request.. which is good and combination always good with tomato ketchup..
Salads are available at buffet spread and they are good to see and eat! Button Idly with sambar is very tasty which was served in a small mud pot..
Noodles is avg and not sufficient warm.. wet manchuria is good.. Veg continental item which was looked like a different version of lasagna is awesome.. i liked it to the core..
Had good kulcha which is stuffed and had them with paneer and corn gravy curries..
Tasted bisbillabath with gun powder, karivepaku podi and pallu podi.
Which is good. Tasted 2 spoons of veg dum biryani and mirchi ka salan in which biryani is avg.
Had dal with white rice and beetroot poriyal which is good..
Here good spread of desserts were available in which i had kaju laddoo, kurbani ka meeta, malai rasgulla and kala jamun..All are very good.
In cut fruits had small pieces of guava and papaya which are fine.. Chocolate icecream is not that much thickly came with scoop serve and there are soups and different topups to had with icecream.
Decent experience and this is one of the best veg. buffets i had and good service from staff!!

Kicked off the festive season with a memorable luncheon experience as the veggie luncheon brigade convened at the JHills outlet of Taj Mahal Hotel on a balmy Sunday afternoon.

We'd been to TMH a couple of times for tiffin but this time we opted for the buffet spread at their first floor outlet - Dakshina Mandapa. They have one of the most varied spreads amongst the veg buffets and taste-wise too all items were too good.

Soup n Starters: Mixed veg & Minestrone soups, tandoori paneer & Gobi chilly.
South Indian: Button Idly, Sambar, Pongal, Gutti Vankayi, Gongura Pappu, Aloo Roast,
Mullangi Sambar, Rice & Miryalu Rasam.
North Indian: Assorted Naans & Kulchas, Methi Rice, Veg Biryani, Masaledar Chhole, Subj Shabnam curry, Malai Makhna.
Chinese: Garlic Fried Rice, Veg Hakka Noodles, & Veggies in Hot Garlic Sauce.
Continental: Spaghetti in Alfredo Sauce
Live Counter: Dosas, DIY Paneer
Misc: Salads, Sprouts Panipuri, Papads, Pickles, Powders, Chaat & Dahi Wadas
Desserts: Kala Jamun, Gulab Jamun, Gajar ka Halwa, Cham Cham, Pastries, Rabdi & 4 varieties of Ice Creams with varied toppings.

The spread had a little bit of everything for varied palates & choices and everyone was pleasantly surprised and satisfied. The items were fresh & well seasoned and not at all heavy on oils or masalas. Standouts for me was the button idly n sambar!

Service was decent but has a scope for improvement. As the place filled up the serving & clearing frequency dropped but it was understandable given the place was packed as it was a Sunday. Priced at a very reasonable 499 AI per person, it was totally VFM

Updated leaderboard:

Dakshina Mandapa (JHills) > Minerva JHCP > Minerva Madhapur > ShubhAvsar > Basil > Minerva Somajiguda > Rotis > Galaxy > Utsav > Jalpaan > Bikanervala > Dakshina Mandapa (SP Road) > A'la Liberty > Dadu's Jharokha > Spice Garden > Chutneys

The ambience of the place is pretty good, the classical dance paintings along with the Carnatic music. A perfect t place for a family gathering. The buffet here is pretty impressive, the drinks they provide and the starters are amazing. They have a live kitchen for the lab babaji and disaster, which again taste good. They have a small pot in which you've to put the button idly and sambar which looks appealing and it is not at all a disappointment when it comes to taste. The main course items were okay, the fried rice and curries were impressive. They have a huge varieties for desserts among which only half were enjoyable, the gulab jamun, the small cakes.

Wow what a place yaar, It was an awesome experience for me and my family when we visited. This the best place we've ever been earlier.

So many verities of Starters, like south, north & multi-cuisine and huge buffet spread. Covered more than 90% items from the buffet. I really like the food particularly live counters are really good.

Must try button idly with sambar, it's so yummy. And Main course have so many items i couldn't able to cover completely. More than 12 Indian style accompaniments.

And desserts are Really Awesome, i have ate all the sweets, pastries, Ice creams & cut fruits. Covered all the items from desserts including choco chips .

About Service, they are giving excellent service to all the customers. Particularly their welcoming was really good.

Price is really reasonable, must try Dakshina Mandapa.

My overall rating :

Food : 5/5

Amenities : 5/5

Service : 5/5

Price : 5/5

The food and service is excellent. The buffet spread is so huge that once you taste the entire spread you can't have anymore. The varieties in starters, main course and deserts are equally high. Inspite of being a non-vegetarian I was not disappointed going to a vegetarian restaurant. The food here is worth beyond what you pay.

Lazy Sunday Noon.... Cloudy Weather.... Vegan by Heart.... Made us land to Dakshina Mandapa. If the starteres would have been better, I would have given this place a 5. Overall brief:
1. Spread : Decent enough, having southindian, northindian and chinese
2. Live Kitchen : Paneer Preparations in live counter is nothing but an awesome experience.
3. Dessert : Enough for taste buds (I didn't like kala jaamun for the saunf in it).

Overall, awesome experience and decent on pocket (Axis Card Holders will get 15% off for July 2016).

A must try for the vegans.

Very few places in Hyderabad serve the right kind of Vegetarian Food, especially when it comes to buffet.

Happened to be at Taj Dakshina Mandapa, Jubilee Hills

The service was very prompt and we were served with Welcome Drinks which included Lemon Lime and Mixed Fruit Juice, both the Drinks were up to the mark

Starters were then served which included Paneer 65 and Hariyali Kebab along with Pudina Chutney which was best I ever had.

Main course included the regular Palak Paneer,Mix Veg ,Biryani,Fried Rice, Noodles,Alfredo Pasta etc . All of the dishes except the Pasta were really done well.

The Button Idly served here was truly a delight ,The Dosa counter was sort of okayish,Pani Puri was good.

Desserts included a huge variety including Kala Jamun,Gulab Jamun,Dal Halwa,Rasmalai,Kubani Ka Meetha,Pastries,Ice Creams,Anjeer Barfi etc and believe me the desserts were much better than the one's served at Ohris .

A total VFM at 500/- per head

Who doesn't love the Dakshin Mandapa and the Taj Mahal hotels? They are known for their existence before we were born and were delivering services effectively from a long long time. Even though the original one was the Abids branch, this one right on the Jubilee hills road took all my attention while looking for a place to celebrate my friend's birthday.

The staff were well-mannered, showed us a table and changed table when we asked them to, even without any reservations. The waiters and servers are always in handy to help us with stuff. The ambience is quite perfect for a Dakshin Mandapa hotel. Oh! The music was a delight. Fusion of Tyagaraja Keertanas, krishna wall paintings and delicious food - what else can I ask for?

Welcome drinks were fresh lime juice (very good) and guava delight (average).

Soup: The tomato macaroni soup was only average and didn't like it well.

Starters : The crispy potato stole the show. What a way to start the meal! Crispy batter, soft potato inside with sauces and spices covered was a heavenly combination.
The Tandoori gobi was good too. The marination was not cooked properly which was giving a slight uncooked taste. But with the mint chutney, two servings were gulped into my tummy.

Salads and Chats : Spread was good. There were cucumber-tomato based, a mayonnaise dressing salad, peanut salad and couple of other salads. The dahi bhalla, button idli with Sambhar, the pani puri and DIY make your chat counter stood out in the spread.

Main Course: With too many helpings of starters, I didn't go hard on main course as there was my favorite desserts section yet to be covered. There was dosa counter which makes yummy dosas and a pav bhaji live counters. There were 4 different North Indian curries that went well with butter naans.

What astounded me more was the Italian main course and oriental main course here. And very surprisingly, the veg gratin was ridiculously yummy and the fried rice with Mangolian sauce was a hit too. I had to take a halt and skip Veg Biriyani to keep some space.

Desserts: The Indian desserts were PesaraPappu Payasam, which was yummy and gajar ka halwa, which was slightly sweeter and gulab jamun that went with ice cream into my tummy. There were assorted pastries as well. Couple of blueberry flavored and butterscotch ones. There were barfis, chumchums and more.

The Ice creams were not a big deal...but the toppings that were provided with ice creams was a huge deal. Kiwi, strawberry and chocolate sauce besides many other dry toppings were provided.

This all was for 499 AI which was a steal deal in my opinion. Given a weekday, the price would be lower. But while paying the bill, I had the satisfaction of every penny worth the food I ate.

Really good food, excellent taste. A good place to hang out with family and have dinner. The ambience is great. They play classical music which is apt. Service is also good. Nothing to complain about. I love going to this place. Last but not the least their veg dum biryani tastes very good. 👌

I rarely go to Vegetarian places unless I am with a pure vegetarian friend. Initially our plan was to go to Flavors of THM but there was no table available so we went upstairs to Dakshina Mandapa. It is a decent looking place with a very subtle yet welcoming ambiance.
They serve Buffet and its a wide spread. I especially enjoyed the welcome drink (flavored butter milk), Cheesy Penne, Creamy Corn, Chana Salad, and all the desserts [Ice cream, Rabdi, Besan Barfi and the thing that looks like okra]
Soup and Cham cham were not nearly as good as everything else.
And all this comes at a very reasonable price. I would say this is a really nice place for someone who really likes veg food.

Loved the buffet spread! The starters were amazing - with soup, aloo 65, tandoori paneer and button idlis, starters were definitely the highlight! The live dosa counter was awesome too! Tried both masala and roasted salad dosa - absolutely yumm and crisp! The desserts section was full of amazing options - special mention for the kala jamuns - they were amazing! The white sauce Alfredo pasta was very cheesy and delicious.
The service is quite good too with attentive servers.

The place is always filled ,had to wait for 20 min starters were OK and only two types. Appams were good ,desert's were OK .rest of the items were average.visit this place if you love south Indian pure vegetarian food.

Those times when a veg buffet satisfies u..... With many on n off thoughts we were here last nit and I can say it was the right decision....

I can't say enough how much the ambience pleased me. Not in terms of some hangings r paintings but in terms of maintainanace. It was just pristine n the light music came along with it. N the best part how the plates and spoons(most restaurants don't take a note of spoons, not even the ones with big names) we felt fresh every time we bought another dish from buffet spread.

Coming to food, for me the best was button idli n sambhar. It was served in this cute lil pot and it tasted heavenly. Even the masala dosa was yummm. From starters I like the tandoori broccoli and paneer was even better. Tomato soup was rightly done. Among salads I liked the one with moong dal and red chana. As like any other buffet the main course quite dint excite me. But a special mention for the brinjal curry(I hate brinjal but the gravy was to die for) and ginger rasam, it's the first time I ever tasted it. Panipuri was good. Corn chat was tasty. I like d way they arranged podis. Need to improve on garlic rice and biryani n may b I like them more cooked. Way bit grainy. At first sight desserts excited us but was disappointed by the brownies and cute lil pastries. However gajar ka halwa, moving dal halwa made it up. The kiwi sauce with vanilla icecream kindaa excited me but dint taste that good but simple butterscotch was yummm👩🏻

The best veg buffet around. The dahi vadas are just awesome, so are the paneer starters. Good ambience. One has many options to choose from, and every item generally has distinct tastes unlike other random buffets.

I am a core non veg person- yet i simple love the VEG buffet in here.

Went there with my family and had a decent time. Service is a little laidback, should pay more attention. The food here is good. Good North Indian and south Indian cuisine provider. The food is not as great as of Taj mahal abids, the original outlet. The ambiance is good. Fine place to spend good family time. :)Awsuf Aali Nandita Jain

Decent lunch buffet. Nothing out of the box, but thats a good thing! Good food, good ambience, ok service. The starters and desserts are both a let down, the main course plus the live dosa counter save the day.
Went to dakshin manadapa at Jubilee hills last week with my uncle. They had only buffet for dinner. So we sat for buffet. The spread was quite good. The soup choice was with garlic and so were the starters. My uncle does not eat garlic, and was a little uncomfortable. So noticing this, the manager got us a tomato soup without garlic and also the starters without garlic. The soup was hot and was good in both consistency and the taste. The rest of the meal was good. We had quite a few choices as the spread was good. The peas pulao was especially good. Live counter could have a little more variety though. The main course was pretty good. The desserts were the best part of the meal. There were about 6 varieties of sweets and pastries! And then there was ice cream and cut fruits. Could taste only 2 varieties of desserts though. Definitely will check this place out again for a more detailed review.
Right now I would say
Ambience: 4
Food: 4.5
VFM: 4.5

"The biggest vegetarian buffet in twin cities" the board outside the hotel declared, but is it enough to sway people into coming over and over? Find out! ( and if you will, have a look at my other review on tajmahal below this review! )

Went to this place last Sunday for Lunch and.... The place wasn't as chaotic as some reviews pointed out, instead it wasn't even half full! We were seated immediately and thus began our adventure into culinary wonderland. We were given a choice of manchow and cream soup and we went with manchow which made me wish I should've gone with the cream soup cuz this soup was more like a broth didn't like it even one bit tbh. We got gobi 65(?) and a cutlet(gold coin) served to our table of which the gobi was fine and tasty but lacked the finesse of the LEGEND. Now this is where the story begins,
Thoroughly disappointed by the soup, went to have the salad and oh my, these salads(Hawaiian and pasta)were out of the world they literally blew my mind with the tiny subtle differences you tend to notice with each bite! Superbly prepared if you ask me and even has cool sauces to go with it (mint based and honey based). Along with button idly and a dahi vada, the dahi vada was good but the idly not that much. Next I Had a fried rice along with some gravy made up of corn and cream don't remember what it is but you'll relish it and definately go Back for some more! The noodles were of thicker variety and while they were good, I prefer my noodles thin, thank you. Pongal and biriyani were standard fare and okayish...
Which brings me to the seperate counter named "SPRING ROLL DOSA!" thoroughly excited, I went there to discover that first of all, it had a a lot of oil... Braving my disgust for oil I settled down to taste the dosa and..... It was bad to put it mildly. I immediately moved to the dessert section to find that this favorite area had no skimpings (phew).deserts are the saving grace for what could've been a potential dissapointment and were fantastic I loved each and everyone of the dessert there (chum chum, blueberry cake, kala jamun etc) be sure to try their moongdal halwa at the Beginning as you'll regret not having enough space at the end.

In the beginning I mentioned something about Hyderabad's biggest buffet spread while the spread here is quite Respectable the taste isn't. Considering each and every dish as a standalone entity, they shine bright and high but there is the feeling of something missing at the end of the meal and I couldn't point it out. That said this place scores a 3.25. Hope you had fun reading

Breakdown
VFM-4.25/5
TASTE - 3.75/5
AMBIENCE -5/5

Tl;dr
Loved the Place food is worth The price. But check out some other places too and book a table. But before going keep out of mind that you're going to a tajmahal hotel and simply think you're going to a non descript restaurant cuz if you expect, you're going to be disappointed

Pros -
Great service
Some great things to eat
Value

Cons -
Not consistent in quality
Lack great waiters

Have a look at this review of Flavours Of TMH, Jubilee Hills — http://zoma.to/review/24334260

Ordered many items dosa, idly, bisebeli, thali ,Manchurian service is pathetic they spoiled Taj Abids name .food was not tasty untrained staff no service coordination table was unclean noisy table salt was wet won't pore in

visited second time yesterday on my wifes birthday for lunch This time we had a good experience .Mr Mithun manager was very helpful and organised it. The service improved a lot . Sweet corn soup and corn crispies were good . bread crumbs in tomato soup should supplied on table .Veg biryani was excellent , waiter forgets to serve mirchika salan and raita . Dosa was not taj standard .poori ,button idly , roti and paneer sabji were good . south indian items are not as per expevtation .so dakshin mantapa name should be changed
overall we were satisfied

Dakshin Mandapa at Taj Mahal Hotel, Jubilee Hills

Buffet for lunch.

These guys should stick to what they do best, the regular South Indian Fare. I find that the Chinese dishes on the buffet are not appealing to the eye and palate. On the buffet is the regular fare of welcome drinks, salads, starters, North Indian curries with Indian bread served on the table, South Indian mains, veg biryani and a live chat and dosa counter. The choice of desserts is impressive, but I wouldn't comment on how they taste, I was impressed to see some traditional Andhra sweets.

Staff is courteous and polite, service is good, an above average experience I must say.

The ambience is a 5/5.
The paintings on the walls and the decorations go along perfectly with the name and the concept behind the place. The beautifully lit up buffet area and the wooden interiors near the seating area gives it the extra sheen.

Keeping up with a huge crowd is quite a predicament for any restaurant but not a new challenge for the Taj Mahal Hotel chain. Even the customers come well prepared to wait for a table, regardless of which outlet they are visiting, which gets even worse on the weekends.I have been to the Dakshina Mandapa at Taj Tristar many a times. Have loved the food and have watched a really huge crowd waiting eagerly for tables on a Sunday afternoon. Same goes with this place too.

I visited Dakshina Mandapa- Jubilee hills for dinner on a Saturday evening, 13 of us in all. We were seated in a separate room adjacent to the buffet area. Comfortable seating, spacious and lotus flower themed interiors.

Coming to the food (will try my best recalling the names):

Soups: Minestrone and Hot and sour soup. Both of them were great but I liked the Minestrone better. Every spoon of it was like a spoonful of perfectly balanced flavors.

Starters: Pani poori/Gol gappas, Paneer tikkas, tandoori cauliflower, paneer dosa with delicious chutney, vegs in white sauce and cheese, potato fritters- fried potato cubes in a tangy tomato sauce, button idlis and sambar. The only flaw that I could point to was the meagre amount of filling in the pani pooris.
The colours used and the presentation of each dish made it all even more inviting. Especially the button idlis which were served in small colourful pots and you need to pour hot sambar into it and relish.

Main course: Again the should-be-there veg biryani, steamed rice, sambar, rasam, curd and assorted breads were all there in the buffet. The other items were- Panner kesari, Punjabi veg, palak capsicum, malai corn, fried rice, bisi bele bhat and drumstick sambar ( I may have missed something).
The veg biryani and the bisi bele bhat stood out.

Desserts: One whole side of the buffet area is dedicated to desserts.
Ice creams - 4 flavors with a number of flavored syrups, sauces and toppings such as flavored sprinkles and nuts, moong dal halwa, moong dal payasam, kala jamun, few varieties of pastries and sweets. I still remember the taste of the kala jamun and the moong dal payasam. Drools!!

Along with all these were the welcome drinks, chutneys, pickles and salads. This is the most of what I can recall and I am sure I have missed on few.

Certainly a king sized buffet and even a non-veg lover won’t regret going purely veg if this place is the excuse. A place totally worth trying.

P.S.: Surely, reservation recommended.
(09/05/15)

Been there on a Saturday late afternoon with family...
Valet parking available, not hassle free as it is located on busy main road,
Tried going to flavors of TMH but a long waiting times even at such a late hour in the afternoon, got an advise from a staff member to go to buffet in dakshin mandapa on the first floor, went there...

Ambience very nice, great music, comfortable seating.

Buffet spread is good, gave a welcome drink , variety of salads among Russian salad tasted good, chat counter barely functional nothing great to write about.
Main course all standard items of panneer, mixed veg etc, butternan ok, some variety rice is there along with biryani both tasted ok but not great.

South Indian sambar tastefully prepared, curd rice is ok.

In desserts middle of kala/gulabjamoon - ok, moondal kheer (not halwa) tasted like sweet moong dal, kaju Burfy is good, variety of ice creams but taste is average.

Last but not least long response time, no replenishment of emptied items not expected from a restaurant of this standard...needs improvement in this area along with making items little more tasty to feel the VFM.

Can try once...again if improved on above.
