Review New Zee Family Dhaba - Hyderabad

Poonam Amin
We go regularly to this dhaba. Staff is very good, and the service is prompt. They understand the order well, and its like a real dhaba experience. Dal fry, egg bhurji, and tomato chutney are yummm always.

The food taste was good. But main disappoint is the biryanies are not available. Especially the dal thadka and jeera rice combination is very nice.

Nice place . Has outdoor seating. Play area for kids which is amazing. As the kids were busy playing. The food was really good . We tried the rabbit too wasn't a big fan of it . The prawns and chicken we ordered went well with the maincourse . Good for groups and people with kids .
The chicken tikka that i had eaten numerous times in new zee family dhaba and that which i am eating now, which i m about to dump, are totally different .... i hated the food that i have tasted today ..... i doubt it has been procured from any other roadside stall
Tabjula Akhil
One among good dhabas in Medchel. Please do not try pepper rabbit / any rabbit dish until they change recipe or chef who makes this dish. Other dishes tastes like Deewan dhaba’s only.
Went for dinner. This dhaba is full of mosquitoes and smelling bad.
We ordered a chicken starter, it was good.
Ordered garlic naan and butter chicken, the naan's were very thick and the butter chicken was tasteless.

Very Hyderabadi! It's a big, open-air dhaba right along the roadside that serves some lovely, but spicey food. Their service is pretty prompt and good. Since this place is pretty green and open, you would have to encounter the mosquitos. But, if you are okay with that and love spicey food, you may very well try this good and pocket friendly place. Also, do not forget to take your gang along, the more the merrier at such places.

Located on the the way to medchal,
Been to this place for dinner,
Ordered chicken curry , paneer butter masala , roti and egg fried rice.
Curries are good and fried rice is ok.
Service is slow, which could be improved
Open place seating in the garden.

Overall ok.

Outstanding dhaba,I am regretting myself for not visiting this place before. A late night dhaba just beside k.s deewna nice place which have both open to sky and roof dining. With Small playing place for children's. In starter we ordered pepper mutton and chicken 65,butter chicken and ginger chicken in gravy with butter naan, zeera and fried rice in rice.

Pepper Chicken: The most tasty dish in the menu, dry and soft boneless pieces of mutton with perfect spice's.(5/5)

Chicken 65: Basic not so special chicken 65.(3/5)

Ginger Chicken: Must try at this place gravy at it's best. Nicely cooked with superb spice's. (5/5)

Butter Chicken: Average taste as found in many other places.(3/5)

Zeera Rice: Nice blend of zeera which is perfectly cooked.(4/5)

Fried Rice: Average I will not refer to have.(2/5)

Overall: Great place specially to have dinner as its much peaceful at evening, Must try there pepper chicken.

Was just going to Runway9 with friends and saw this dhaba nearby. Good ambience according to dhaba style...food was average not upto the mark. We ordered two chicken curry and we found both the curries have same gravy...so there was no difference. Starter were nice but need some improvement. Service is very nice..

Was at my college on some work and accidentally ran into a couple of buddies and we all decided to eat at a dhaba and in the chain of decent dhabas we have on medchal highway, Zee dhaba is the only one i didn't quite try. So we all decided to jump in here.

Comparatively this is a very large Dhaba, There are so many different sections where you can dine. One is a rooftop cabin kind of section which is reserved completely for families, then there is a simple outdoor seating with chairs and tables and finally on the extreme left corner is a huge shed kind of thing which can be called indoor seating. You can't expect "Ambiance" from a Dhaba, but hygiene and cleanliness is a big question mark. This place is not clean and if you are not used to Dhaba environment, then you might have lot of questions before you decide to sit. One thing about this Dhaba which separates from others is you can "Booze" here. Alcohol was allowed in Dhabas earlier, but later it was all banned apparently, but Zee Dhaba does serve alcohol. So if you're looking for a dhaba specifically to booze then you might wanna check Zee dhaba out.

We finally settled at a decent table and jumped into ordered food. Garlic Naan, Kaju Paneer and a special mix veg curry. The service was prompt, but the waiter was super busy in serving the booze folks that we had to serve the food ourselves. Garlic Naan's were super good, oozing garlic flavor. Kaju paneer is a killer, there are ample paneer cubes and a bunch of cashew nuts that you can see. I felt like the cashews aren't cooked along with the paneer curry but are instead added after the curry is completely made. That made for a strong cashew flavor which leaves a good after taste and stays on your tongue for a while. Special mix veg curry is just mediocre, its just the same old mix veg curry and it had cashews too.

Overall a decent experience, Ambiance is a something that you'll need to cross check before you decide to dine here. Definitely not family friendly as there are people boozing, smoking and talking obnoxiously loud which can create uncomfortable environment. Food for the most part is good, Kaju paneer is a must try and prices are alright. Service could've been better.

It's not a bad place to try. We were frequent to this dhaba when we were in Trimulgherry. They make good Paneer Tikka and Butter Naan here. It's pocket-friendly and the food can be spicy to someone who doesn't enjoy spicy food (like me). I don't find the ambiance appealing. Beware of bloodthirsty mosquitoes at night..

Late lunch at New Zee Dhaba, kompally on NH44. Ordered roti , Panner butter masala and dal fry. Taste is very good but quantity is too less. A typical dhaba ambience with a rooftop touch.

Last Sunday i have visited this place for lunch. The table on which we sat was not so neat enough. The plates did not seemed to be washed properly.

Service guy was a bit rude while taking the order.

But the taste of the food just made us forget everything.

I am just rating this place 3 only because of the food and its taste.

Dhabas are obviously incomparable and it is proven everytime you visit one. The food was just so amazing. And the best dish was undoubtedly the teetar batair. Everything tasted great- Zeera rice, chicken 65, butter chicken, dal makhani tandoori chicken etc. Its like a treat to your taste buds. And on the cold winter nights, it makes it all a perfect combination.

Hit the spot with a couple of friends, late night scenes. The staters ordered were the were goood , the meat was tender and well seasoned. The main course of butter chicken, was not all that great, cause when you make a Punjabi dish with spice of Hyderabad they don't seem to get along !!!

The service was good, but the waiters don't really clean the place unless they are asked to get it done.

Must try :

- Rabbit Masala (dry)

Well, met my 12th class friends after 13 years, long gap right. So it should be a place where we can express freely without much hassle. Obvious choice is a Dhaba where you will have open space with natural air allowing you to enjoy the company. We ended up at Zee New Dhaba. Paneer Kaju Curry was just Delicious, Paneer was cooked soft as should be. Usually it ends up half boiled or tough enough to bite but here it was a perfect blend of spice and pepper, plus Paneer 65 was quite cheesy and had a good taste. I enjoyed it.

Such a disgusting place.. We were served with plates that were'nt even washed properly.. On complaining the waiter brought another set of plates still with the same condition.. Ultimately we had to adjst.. The food served was ok.. But the customer service is soooo poor..!! On feeling the spices we asked for a bottle of water and the waiter just dint turn up.. Later wr went and complained it to the manager but the waiter was still so arrogant..!! I wish I could hav kicked his ass..!! I seriously dont recommend this place to any1 at all..!!

Well to start with these highway joints should stop using Dhaba with everything. I mean go to Punjab and delhi highway and you'll understand what is a Dhaba like. This one is just a hangout for drinking dat too on the highway, where drinking and driving can be very dangerous. As soon as I reach, saw two guys, filthy drunk alighting their Scorpio to drive - God help them!!

Coming to the food.....or should I comment anything....Well the least said is the best compliment for this Dhaba. Food is nothin extraordinary, butter chicken was drenched in Dalda, Tandoori rotis were more than chewy than center fresh and rice was half done....

Not going there again with family!!!

And as a community Zomato plz raise voice against concerned authorities against these dhabas who serve alcohol to drivers.

Well I have no words to describe my frustration after I visited this place with high hopes.
I mean okay when you are going to a dhaba , you don't expect it to be high on hygiene part and decor.
But the food was not at all good. And Service.. bwoy that was worst.
I think the waiter was drunk and he charged us 20 rs extra for onions which surprisingly was not included in the bill.
The starters were undercooked and cold. (chicken 65 and veg manchurian.)
One of the curry was too salty. the only thing that saved us was daal.
My ratings:
Food : 2/5
Service : 1/5
Ambiance : 3/5.

I expect a rusty theme , rickety benches , etc everytime I visit a dhaba , none of the Dhaba's along this highway serve's to this fantasy of mine :D.

Dhaba's along the medchal highway have evolved so much for the family's , they have the roller coaster ride's , decent play area -Im sure the kids would love it.
There are seperate family section's , a tree house kinda cabin , section's where the men would like to have their drink , so it's nicely arranged and all.

When it come's to the food , I was completely let down .
1. I expect Dhaba Food to be easy on pocket , I would never want them competing with the restaurants in the city.
2. Along with the fantasy of rickety benches , chair ;P , I also expect their food to be finger licking good which isn't the case in here. A Dhaba's supposed to put up the best butter chicken, Dal fry or Palak Paneer , Zee Doesn't . Paneer Tikka that was served were huge-huge pieces of paneer but then wasn't cooked well
3. I wish the guys taking the order had some idea of the food that's on the menu , just the basic idea.

Just give it a try , discover the menu and hope to find something good.

I miss Sony International Dhaba , they apparently were shut the last time I happened to be there .

A day hang out with friends and now was the time to end up the day with a nice supper... decided to go and feel the dhaba style. So on the way ended up here. Though while coming back saw sony dhaba too..guess the dhaba owners are TV freaks :P :P

This place looked better than the other in the surroundings..sat in garden section. And after a while the mosquitos made us realize that we are in garden...thanx to the 'server' who bought a coil and kept near the table. :P

Having thoughts of dhaba specific food decided on palak paneer and dal tadka with some butter tandoori rotis. The order came in with some delay. Palak paneer was fine on taste with a nice gravy. Rotis were nicely buttered but were warm and had a crunch in them. Dal being yummy gave a nice feeling but the quantity was less that we had to order another one with our next round of rotis. This too was delayed with rotis being served before dal and hence they became cold. :(

For service and hospitality I will mark them 50-50 as place was lil unclean and delayed order arrival.

Overall, an ok place to have a dhaba feeling (though not the same which u have in rajasthan or punjab side :|). Lil messier surrounding but fine on pocket and food. If around it can be chosen again sometime......

Food - 3/5
Ambience - 2.5/5
Service & Hospitality - 2.5/5
Money Matters- 3/5

Final Conclusion- 2.8/5
