Review Orient Hotel Restaurant - Hyderabad

Neha Marlecha
I was expecting a lot more of them.... I am a hard-core fan of biryani and i really wanted to try this one when in Hyderabad... The food tasted good but not wow . ... The amount of regular biryani was sufficient for 2 people wherein they said it's just for one... The quantity is very nice

I went there with my friends (around 7 people). We ordered Tandoori platter and 2 chicken biriyani, which was more than enough for all of us. Really impressed with the portion of food, especially that of biriyani. The taste was fantastic as well. The waiters were polite and attentive; served food for each one of us. If you are visiting Charminar and have a good appetite, try this place.

It is one of the best restaurants in Hydrabad. We had their famous zafrani biryani, which was really good in taste. The quantity and quality were both up to the mark. In dessert, we tried apricot delight, which was again the best in the test. One USP of this restaurant is their humble staff. Here, even after so much crowd, the staff deal with the customers in very polite way.

If you are a foodie do not miss this place. This is the first Pista House in Hyderabad and later on, there were other outlets. Here you will also find Mandi. If you want a grill then go after 5:30 PM. If you are a meat freak then please have Mutton Marg with one Naan and Zafrani Nalli Biryani. They say this is for two people but three can easily have. The quantity is huge with a mouth watering taste.

Went there with friends. We ordered tandoori chicken platter and two chicken biryani. Quantity was more than enough for four of us. All the items were extremely delicious. But extremely disappointed with the service. Even though there was hardly any people when we went there at around 7:30pm, service was extremely slow. And lastly for finger bowl we had to wait for atleast 15mins that too after asking for it multiple times...

Awesome 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️ This is first pista house branch in Hyderabad old city and this restaurant is very near to charminar also, and i have tried zafrani mutton biryani and murgh malai kebab ,biryani taste is awesome i loved it and muragh malai kebab was fully burnt and no taste and prices and quantity also reasonable as compared to taste must try mutton biryani, thank you. Good food and service. The biriyanis were delicious and the quantity was a lot for the price. Extremely affordable too. Lakshmi was very courteous while serving us the dishes. The man who came to take the order however was pretty rude and seemed disinterested and not at all courteous.

Best place I have been to as far as food and ambiance is concerned. Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore all these cities need to compete. Awesome food at unbeatable price.

While visiting Charminar, One must have food in this hotel situated near to it in a walkable distance. They serve excellent mouth watering food here with at most care. Sometimes you have to wait for worthy things 😉.

Quite an experience Pista House was. I was craving the infamous Mutton Haleem but for some reason was not available. Tried the Nalli Biryani which was quite good with the right amount of spices and rich in flavour. I have never tried the Mutton Marag before and was curious to try. Came with two naans and was quite good. It’s like a mutton soup with a milk base with a heavy taste of pepper and other ground spices. A must try! Try the zaafrani chai afterwards- very rich and creamy!

Mandi and Biryani sections are simply superb. Their Services, ambience, food, taste, hospitality etc etc.... everything is just awesome. Speechless!! I'm an Hyderabadi, tasted at a lot of places but this one is the bestest! Kudos 👏 🫡🫡

Hi everyone ! Pista House doesn't need any further introduction because of it's legacy. This is one of our go to spots for Biriyani in Hyderabad. Pista House serves one of the best Biriyanis ! ❤️

We also tried a lot of their other dishes but out of them , special mention goes to their Murgh Peshawari which has this royal taste and also to their amazing Red Velvet Pastry. We have never tasted such amazing Red Velvet Pastry anywhere in entire Hyderabad ! It is a must try ❤️.

If what you read is in any way helpful to you, please like , comment and follow us for more foodilicious updates !

Ultimate quality and taste. Easily one of the best bakeries in town. You can actually sense the freshness and quality in what you eat. Aloo Dahi puff is very unique and something you can die for. Thanks for providing such High standard and tastiest food. MUST VISIT.

Pista House is a brand well known by many in Hyderabad, particularly for its haleem during Ramadan. It does not live up to any hygiene and quality standards though. The hygiene level here is definitely questionable. You can just stand inside the restaurant for five minutes and pinpoint several things that compromise with basic hygiene. You would find the waiters coughing over plates and even touching the naans with bare hands. When questioned, they look at you with complete astonishment, doubting if you were to be an alien coming from outer space, asking such weird questions which no one has ever asked them. You will then find them sharing our story with their peers with amusement. A good training of how to deal with the customer and continuous hygiene practice is need of the hour here.

Irrespective of the class of a restaurant, hygiene and courteous service is what ultimately decides if the place is yay or nay.

I ordered kadai mutton and rumali roti. I found hardly 3-4 small mutton pieces that too chopped horribly and no meat was there. I left the plate with 80 percent of my food and management and waiters didn't even bother to ask my feedback. This place used to be good but my recent experience is the worst.

The service has degraded and had a very bad experience this time. Ordered Achari Chicken tikka and there was just mango pickle in it and had more pieces of mango than the chicken tikka itself. The service is very slow. Worst experience till now. The person who was supposed to take the order doesn't even know about the menu.

I’ve been ordering from here from sometime and I have mixed feelings of this place. When I initially ordered, they had quality and taste in their food. But over the period of a month I’ve seen their meat quality become horrible. I ordered quiet a variety if gravy dishes, and sure they have good taste, but the chicken meat is horrible. Either its all fat, pink to black meat or just shreds of thing chicken pieces. They don’t listen to specific requests as well. They just give you rubbish quality dish. Like I said, they have taste, and its really good. But if they do not change the quality of their meat and actually serve good stuff then its just a waste to go pay for the food here.

So a client of ours recommended this place for some yummy Biryanis and we are glad we just happened to go there...very warm and friendly staff....nice ambience....so we had the murgh Malai kabab, the chicken was so fresh and tender and perfectly marinated with spices.... loved it....and also the mint chutney which was served alongside....the next was mutton kheema biryani, wow....it remains the highlight of my weekend....the staff asked us if we like spicy, we said yes, at first we got very impressed with the quantity....it was about time to dig in...it was one of the best Biryanis I have ever had....in the first few bites the biryani didn't seem to be that spicy....but the spiciness started hitting us after a few more bites....but the taste and chunks of fresh and well cooked minced mutton just kept us going....loved it.... highly recommended to all my foodie friends 😁👍

I would rate Pista House 4 for dine in and 0 for delivery.

Ordered Malai Chicken through a food delivery platform. It barely had any malai and was extremely tasteless.

Me and my friend got a really bad stomach ache after having the chicken.
I have had a bad experience with ordering from here, previously as well.
This makes me believe that they serve stale or rejected food via delivery platforms.

I would request Swiggy and Zomato to kindly look into the same.

Review No 591:

Back in Hyderabad after a few months gap and boy did it feel good. The city, especially my vicinity of work seems to drastically change every time I come.

After donkey hours at work, we took some time off to gorge on some food from Pista house this time. Yes, they are also now in the vicinity, which was not the case more than 6 years back.

We ordered the following:

a. Patthar ka Gosht: I've had Patthar ka Gosht in 4 Seasons hotel in Tolichowki for the first-time years ago. I distinctly remember the taste and the experience. This dish, although different from my first experience was good never the less. The meat was super tender the spices just hit it out of the park.

b. Mutton Roghan Gosht: Another great dish for the evening. The curry preparation, the quantity and the quality of the meat were good. It’s a surprise to see Pista house churn out these great dishes.

c. Zaffrani Mutton Biryani: None of my trips to Hyderabad are complete without Biryani. My colleagues decided to order Zaffrani Mutton Biryani. Very different from the likes of Paradise, Shahdab or even Shahgouse. But the quality of the rice and the meat were bang on.

d. Butter Naan: For the hungry tummy’s we ordered Butter Naan as well and even though the temperature was slightly cooler outside, the naans did their job.

Ambience: I'll leave this out as we had the food delivered to us at work. Thank goodness for this service. Its a break from the mundane cafeteria food.

Service: The team did well in turning around the order so that the food delivery valet could in turn get it to us within the promised time (inspite of the bad evening Hitech city traffic jam)

Price: In line with what are the market rates for such dishes. It does have a good brand recall and its definitely trying to up its game with the ever so increasing competition in this area.

Here's my ratings and experience with Pista House for the first time with their proper meal listing. I'll definitely want to try more whenever I visit this beautiful city again. Here's how Pista House fared:

Food: 4/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3/5 (Going to keep this neutral as we did a take away)
*****************
Overall: 3.66/5 (Rounding off to 4 as per the rating system on Zomato)

P.S: I am pursuing an open issue ticket with Zomato as I am still having issues in uploading photos and reviews in tandem. Zomato support is still looking into it, per their reply on 17 July 2019. Pictures getting uploaded will be delayed.

This biryani place is a bit too in demand. The waiting time when we went for lunch was around 20 min and there was a huge rush from the food pick guys outside the restaurant waiting to pick up their order. The ambience is good and there was slow music playing in the background. This place is having sitting available for lot of people. The tangdi kebab was really delicious. Biryani was also good but i have had better ones too. The quantity was too much for two of us to finish it up. Pricing was moderate but the waiting time even for the waiter is bit too much.

Chicken Zaffrani Biryani (5/5). Pista House is one of the big names in Biryani in Hyderabad. The quantity of Biryani that is served is huge. The Zaffrani biryani is full of masala but thats how I love it. If you're a biryani lover, do try this place. You won't be dissapointed. ☮️

Dear All, I can rate pista house mutton biryani as roadside biryani or more worst. Very bad quality and taste is kachraa. Did not packed full parcel and when I called them tho recheck why rumali roti was not packed with family pack then they told its my job to check. I was surprise and told them to don't cheat customers
