Review Cafe Udipi - Indore

Siddharth Jain
I was in Indore for 2 days & one of our friends recommended this place for breakfast. The ambience & infrastructure reminds us of the cafe's long journey through the last few decades. Traditional settings ( I love it ) & delicious taste. Also, being economical is a big plus. 3 of us had our stomach filled with a bill of just 300!

I recently visited Cafe Udipi with my colleagues, and our experience was fantastic. We ordered dosa, uttapam, idly, and vada, and everything was not only delicious but also had a great taste. The chutney and sambar were particularly yummy. I highly recommend this cafe to friends and colleagues—it's truly amazing!

Fabulous cafe in the indore city. Food was super delicious purely Udupi style. Pricing is also another attraction here. We tried their dosa, uttapam, upma and tea all of these were super awesome.

Good food especially the Sambar was authentic to southern india, good service the waiters were alert and well prepared to serve more sambar and other needs. The place itself could use some upgrades especially the outside smelled really bad with trash on the side.

A go to place and must visit for all south indian food😻 lovers. You find guests from singles, couples, youth, families and even elderly couples in short हर वर्ग, उम्र,के लोग आते हैं। I personally liked👌 kaju uttapam(actually has kaju pcs) , plain dosa (ask to make it more crispy) and coconut uttapam. USP of place being very fast service, unlimited refills of sambhar and chutney, cold drink on MRP rate and delicious tatse. Avoid 🚫drinking water as glass is kept pre filled and finding parking for 🚗four wheeler is a nuisance. Accepts mobile wallet but no💳 card machine.

Are you one of those guys who attack on South Indian food like nobody else does? Well, then this is the place for you. I went to Cafe Udupi for the lunch with my friend. The place they have can easily accommodate 70+ people. That's pretty much a large amount! Talking about the taste, I literally loved their food and the presentation as well. The only work to be done is on hygiene. If they put a little more efforts on cleaning the nearby areas, the Cafe is a boom to go 😉

Best place to have south Indian. Great taste friendly environment to sit and eat. Amazing food, budget friendly and good quality service.

Must visit. Best food, fast service, tasty South Indian food in budget.

Full marks on taste and authenticity of South Indian cuisine. Without mincing my words, this place offers closest to actual South Indian taste. Limited varieties (actually enough authentic) of items. Though little old and doesn’t have greatest of infra still I’ll give up luxury anyday for such taste.

Nice place for south Indian Food. Specially Sambhar and Uttapam

Food is good but ambience and hygiene is not upto the point

It's one of the oldest and most authentic south indian restaurants in town, they offer all the variety of south Indian dishes like - dosa, vada, uttapam, very very delicious sambhar and chutney (all you can eat 😋). the place is situated in a basement and is a duplex there which is not that great and you go there for the tasty food... not the ambience. but still there are lots of tables for people and most of the time it's more than half packed. staff if clean and happy to serve you. must try - cheese masala dosa, onion-tomato uttapam, vada.

It was so well managed and the staff was also polite. The lady at the entrance was so Swift and smart with booking tables and taking care of all operations. Also the gentleman with lady was so silently making sure of all cashing is done. The food was absolutely tasty and well made. Try working in your infra and keeping the the electricals clean from dirt

Built in 1974 by the owner's grandfather, it's a place which you might find small but is rich in ethics and values. Not only it tastes good, it feels like a family member feeding you. The person who was waiting tables and serving the food made our entire day with his outstanding hospitality and service. We ordered paper masala dosa and Vada. It was delicious. 5 star rating just for the ambience and people running the place. Kudos!
tarun sagar
Vada sambar and paper masala dosa is really awesome... Must visit as far as taste is concerned. One of the best places to enjoy South Indian cuisines for sure.

It's a place where my parents used to hang out years back, still has the same taste as they say! Love vada sambar and maysore masala dosa! Excellent service!

Finest quality of South Indian dish. Love the vada samber, idli, dosa, upma, pav bhaji. Have been eating here from past 20 years or more. Taste remains the same. A 5 of 5 for me.

Decades ago, my dad used to spend his time here during his youth. Now this is one of my go-to place for genuine South Indian food. And as the saying goes, good things never change, this is one place in Indore where nothing changes.. Taste. Ambience. People. Enjoy the legacy!

Ordered Mysore Masala Doasa from this Cafe but quality was not good at all, will not recommend to any one else, I hope they will improve there quality.
RICHA JINDAL
Dosas are too good! I got food delivered from this restaurant. Sumptuous taste and specially the coconut chutney is wow! Vadas, however, can be better.
Dipesh Arora

Situated in the heart of Indore, Cafe Udipi is one of my favourite venues for lunch.<br/>The mesmerizing taste of Paper #Dosa & #Idli is the only thing one needs to fill their tummy.<br/>The best part is that they don't let you wait much for the food aka three cheers for fast services!<br/>Talking about the hygiene, that has to be looked after a bit.<br/>Except that, I love to visit Udipi for my all time favourite #SouthIndian food 😉
Nilanjan Bhattacharya
very ordinary......didnt packed the food in right way.....no container.....disapointed
Nandani.chaurasia1990
They are simply good in cheating people! When you order 2 idli that means the idli is one! But u have to pay for 2. Good going restaurant and thanks zomato

I am eating here at cafe Udipi since last 4-5 years and I trust their taste but from past few visits. I am not pretty satisfied with their taste, it is not bad but it is not even that amazing now that we actually crave Udipi for. But if you are confused you can definitely visit Udipi for any meal that you want they are really fast with the service and the Pespi here has a whole different taste.
Vrinda N
<br/>Menu has almost all varieties of south Indian dishes. Cafe has same authentic taste as it used to be many years ago. We ordered idli wada and it was yummy.quantity of Sambhar and chutney was good enough. Worth trying.
Kunaal Bhagat
The food quality was OK but packaging was very poor. I got my dosa wrapped in a paper inside a newspaper. And it wasn't even wrapped properly; just folded once.
Kanishka Goyal
delivery was on time i liked the persons talk & behaviour
Neelesh Gupta
Specifically mentioned less spicy in the instructions but it seems the chef was trying to set a record for the most spicy dosa ever made. Paid for extra cheese but couldnt find a trace of it in the dosa.
Gupta Madan Mohan
Cafe Udipi is my favorite restaurant for real taste of South Indian food with quality since 1979 when I came first time in Indore and feel same quality of food till date whenever you would like to taste South Indian food recommend you don't forget Cafe Udipi
Kanishka Goyal

Hey guys...!!!<br/>Hope all are doing well....!!!<br/><br/>Review on Cafe Udipi....<br/>Its one of the oldest and authentic restaurant in town....<br/><br/>This restaurant should be ranked #1 so far as south indian food is concerned. I was amazed at the unique way of hospitality showered on the customers here. Individual care is taken to ensure that all customers are fully satisfied and taste all the variety available here. <br/>Supremacy of the quality of each and every ingredient that go into the making of the dishes, the way the food is served, all make you feel that you are on the top of the world. No wonder, this is acclaimed as the best south indian restaurant of Indore
Anshul Bhutra
one of the oldest and popular restaurant of indore for south indian cuisine. They have been maintaining quality n taste for years. Their dosas and sambhar is really tasty. 1* deducted just for interior. rest everythng is fine👍👍
Aastha Joshi
Amazing place ... Best south indian in affordable prices . Good service and ambience.... Authentic south indian food .... High on hygiene...
Bhoomi Shah
VERY VERY NICE SOUTH INDIAN FOOD. DOSA SPECIALLY RAWA MASALA DOSE IS ULTIMATE.<br/>AND SAMBHAR IS VERY TASTY. PAW BHAJI IS ALSO VERY NICE. MEDU VADA ,IDLI EVERYTHING IS VERY TASTY
Ritika Mandhwani
What this place lacks in ambience, makes it up in taste. It is clearly the best south Indian you will get in Indore. The sambhar is awesome, the dosas crisp and the vadas amazing. The best part about the place is it's old charm, I've been going here since I was a kid with my family and it hasn't changed one bit.
Praneeta Taranekar
My family and I have been visiting this place since I was a kid!! They have maintained their taste throughout all these years!! One should definitely visit this place.

Guess one of the oldest and popular south Indian cafe🙌 South Indian lovers must definitely go here.<br/>I have been there several times..yet no change in the taste..!<br/>The food is Soo good and at a very reasonable price....!<br/>And yes..open on Sundays but closed on Mondays😉
Ashwin Mandloi
One of the Indore's oldest and popular restaurant.  I recently visited this place after a year, but now taste is not up to the mark and prices are on higher side. Udipi has changed and not maintain the taste we enjoyed since last 20 years, but still the one of the authentic place to get a south Indian meal.
Muley N
Visited so many times for South Indian food <br/>Location is good but parking is an issue there <br/>Typical Udipi taste and best in class <br/>Upma is available in morning hours only but so delicious 😋 and sweetness of raisins is awesome.<br/>Mysore masala Dosa/Rava dosa is must try <br/>Do not expect ambience and good sitting here just enjoy authentic taste.<br/>Highly recommend place for South Indian food in very economical price.
Anshul Vyas
A wonderful place if you are looking for some good south Indian food then this is the place to be.. Lovely food, good staff and no nonsense menu. It's been almost 2 decades and the place is still the same, maintaining its great flavour.

Got a craving for Authentic South Indian food? This place is what you should look upto. They offer the tastiest and most economical south Indian cuisine. The best thing is you can have as much sambhar and chutney as you want without paying extra. Very crowded during weekends and parking might be an issue for four wheelers. My personal favourite is Mysori Masala Dosa for its spicy and yet tangy taste.
Rohan Raj
This place is for Dosa and Uttapam lovers. They make really good dosa and are famous for their sambhar. Not known to many. But, those who visit once, are regular visitors. Service is good, slow sometimes. Place is not spacious but, well taken care of. Clean, as you expect it to be.
Terribly_tiny_reviews
A very lesser known place, but one of the best purely south indian cafes with affordable rates.<br/>Closed on mondays. Prefer going on weekdays, its packed on weekends.<br/><br/>Must haves: Filter coffee (its a strong brew but its really good)<br/>Masala dosa (very good)<br/>Mysore masala dosa(its very spicy)<br/>Mix uttapam (very crispy)<br/>Pav bhaji (its a weekend special, loaded with butter)<br/><br/>Can avoid: idli and vada (its not bad but have it when its not cold)<br/><br/>Service 4/5, Ambiance 3.5/5
Asim Sarkar
Nice place for South Indian cuisine. Not hygienic at all. But the food has very rich taste. 2 points extra because of the taste only. Had paper mysore masala dosa and mysore masala dosa . The spicy flavor of mysore dosa is very good. If you prefer hygiene on taste, then this place is not for you.
Jain Raunaq
Cafe Udipi is one of the famous south Indian food joint in Indore, location is not so good, food is average.. Sad part is they stopped serving filter coffee..!! Don't try new dishes you will end up dissatisfied..

"Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka" and "Don't judge a book by its cover"<br/>This two sayings goes perfectly for this outlet..<br/><br/>Ambience is poor.. Located prominently but poorly maintained.. Sitting is standard.. Lighting was just ok.. Overall, this outlet needs a renovation asap as far as ambience is concerned..<br/><br/>Hygiene was fairly maintained inside the outlet but not outside.. Nagar Nigam Market fails when it comes to hygiene.. Glass and plates were clean.. No visible dirt on floor as well..<br/><br/>Service was quick.. Adequate work force takes no time in serving your snacks..<br/><br/>Taste was the ground on which I have written the starting tag line..<br/>Simply yum.. Far better than any other south indian outlets including ICH.. <br/>Ordered Upma, Idli-Wada mix and Coffee..<br/>Upma was perfect with all spices. Quantity at the price tag was more than sufficient..<br/>Idli and Wada in a huge bowl filled with Sambhar.. My personal favourite.. Wada however felt bit oily but that superb taste of Sambhar made me overcome that..<br/>Both the dishes were served with a bowl of sambhar and coconut chutney..<br/>Coffee is being served in traditional south indian style, steel glass and a bowl.. Taste was surprisingly good..<br/><br/>You might compare the price with road side joints but they are offering you a decent place to sit and enjoy your meal.. Still this outlet is pocket friendly.. ₹120-130 for the three items is quite economical..<br/><br/>Ignore the ambience and this becomes a must visit place for South Indian Lovers.. ;)
Poorvaa...
One of the oldest places in indore to provide good quality south indian dishes... they provide tasty and economical dishes ... its located in the city ...on the main road... parking can be a problem... ambience is not great... rates were less comparatively but now they have increased... quality of food and service are up to the mark...
Akash Bansal
Been here once..<br/>Heard about its "Dosa" very much..<br/>Tastes Good.. Coconut Chutney was awesome.. Dosa was crunchy as required..<br/>Good for South Indian Food..<br/>May be back again..

This is hands down the best South Indian restaurant in indore of all the ones I've visited. Even better than Indian coffee house. The taste was of an authentic South Indian restaurant. Here the sambhar is to die for. I should have tried this as soon as I had come to indore. It's very pocket friendly too. The place is very small and not maintained properly but who cares when the food is great.
Vaibhav
The best place in Indore for authentic South Indian food. The taste of food items is as authentic as you can get this side of the Kaveri. I specially like their delicious sambhar and Rava masala dosa. Visit Udipi to get a bite of truly South Indian food.

This is truly a legendary restaurant of Indore. It has been running since decades at the same place and still maintains the same taste, quality and it's cheap price! All south Indian items are good, but I especially like their rawa Masala dosa and Mysore Masala dosa!

AUTHENTIC SOUTH INDIAN FLAVORS..<br/>IF U REALLY WANNA EAT SOMETHING CLASSIC AND ORIGINAL THEN BLIND FOLDEDLY JUST VISIT THERE..<br/>I ALMOST GO THERE FOR 3 TO 4 TIMES IN A MONTH..THE BEST DOSA HERE IS MYSORE MASALA DOSA..AND WHILE ORDERING THIS DOSA, DON'T FORGET TO MENTION THIS-<br/>"BHAIYA, WO MYSORE WALI CHUTNEY BHI LE AANA" ;)<br/><br/>
Harsh Jain
One of the finest place to have South Indian food in city....<br/>Love the taste of sambhar here...<br/>I have tried many dishes here.<br/>Love paper masala dosa, idli vada and uttapam. But sometimes they mess up that's why 3.5 rating otherwise 4 or 4.5.<br/>
Archit Baser
Ever since I shifted to Indore, like almost 14 years, I've been visiting this place... <br/>Same old small two floored cafe...<br/>Mostly same staff too...<br/>Toothsome Dosas and other South Indian snacks... Rates are very cheap and services is commendable... Definitely a paisa wasool place...:-)

Very nice place with good food and Good service.... :)<br/>The prices are also the reasonable end for the quality of food, Service and ambience......

I have always been a south indian dishes fan.. udipi has always served me those mouth watering dishes.. must try dishes are maysore dosa and onion uttapam here !! :)

It has maintained the same taste as it was in 2005 the year I started visiting Cafe Udipi. Pocket freindly and have one of the best Mysore Dosa.
Sumit Gupta
Every thiing in the world changes with time....<br/><br/>Exceptions make a rule....<br/><br/>Cafe udipi nothing is changed in years.<br/><br/>Unchanged ambience, higly humid inside, specially in this season.<br/><br/>Same service , even same waiters<br/><br/>But still the most important , taste as delicious as always...<br/><br/>The best dosa Onion Rawa Masala, crispy crunchy and yummy.<br/><br/>Tasty sambar and chutney.
Vidit Shah
Seen this place changing but can say the food is the same. Delicious south Indian and amazing Sambhar. Love the food. It's always a pleasure visiting udipi
