Review Tapri Pratham - Jaipur

Prasoon P A
The first Tapri. Smaller in setting capacity to the others. Cordial staff. Ambience is good. Good food.

The food is really amazing so is the ambience of this place. Definitely worth visiting atleast once. They have an amazing selection of teas and coffees. Their fast food is delicious. The items on the menu are classy - Dal Pakwaan, Namkeen Shots, Kokam Sharbat & Cold Coffee are mouthwatering and must try. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Polite, professional and friendly staff. This place is a must try, with family or with friends.

Having visited Tapri central and Tapri ashram before, I wanted to explore Tapri Pratham now. This place wasn't crowded as the other outlets. The staff is really sweet like the other outlets. I went there around 11 am. I tried chotu idli, cold Lebanese pizza, and masala tea. I don't why but I found Tapri central's food the best of all the outlets. Cold Lebanese pizza wasn't my cup 0f tea as they were too many leaves. The idli I had in Tapri central tasted better than the one here. Masala tea was really good. I liked how this place is really good for privacy and is a quite place.

Good restaurant, bit costly but food is very tasty. All items are worth trying. Dal pakwan is must go item.

Loved the vibe of this place, so cozy and old school. Their pink sauce pasta is so delicious. Also, they serve a welcome drink and khakra to all their customers which is amazing. Loved the concept of keeping everything a classic ♥️
Shaijal Tolambiya
One of my fav place in Jaipur to have breakfast.

Good place to sit and chit chat with friends. It can get busy and you might have to wait for a table. On an average it would cost 500 per person. Hibiscus cold tea is recommended. Chotu idli platter is nice. And blue berry cheese cake. Not recommended is the maska bun.

Always loved the food & environment !! Fav place since years & years Must try - corn cheese puchka shots ❤️, hibiscus iced tea

A hot, top of the food-charts café from the endless gems that make up Jaipur's food scene, this one hell of a gem is a never-to-be-missed spot among tourists and the locals, and especially so if tea is your poison of choice. The food speaks volumes at this rustic, The sunshine-friendly, breezy set-up is a testament to the fact previously noted - the free winds of Jaipur add a mystical, unforgettable taste to your experiences. Tapri Central is the go-to place for Chai cravings

Amazing service and superb food . Food is for your soul not your stomach. It’s so so so good .

I've been to this place four times and it is quite a small cafe but maintained very well.

Ambience:

Very cute ambience. They have seating outside and inside. Inside seating area is parted in two.

I had:

Vada pao- 4/5
Tea (my friend said it was good)
Cheese corn Shots- 5/5, my favorite
Orange juice- 4/5

Service:

Service is poor, we pressed the buzzer many times but nobody turned up. Ultimately we had to call them.
Vikesh Pamnani
Overpriced, not worth this place,
Food quality was Ok, Worst poha I have ever had, for 160rs plus tax. Even street vendors(fake name indori poha) give you a better taste for 20-30bugs
Go for new tapri if you want quality food and enjoy the ambience too.
We have ordered cold coffee from there..... Talking about the taste it was awesome... The quality of it was also good

This outlet of tapri is my favourite of all. I feel very comfortable there and have been there 4 to 5 times now. I love the choice of songs they play. I ordered dal pakwan which obviously is very famous here which was the best pakwan i ever tried. Hibiscus ice tea is worth trying and if you are health conscious the menu offers you sprouts which were tasty. Mascarpone cheese cake is something I won't suggest to order there when you have better options because tapri is not much of a dessert place.
Dal pakwan: 5/5
Coc sandwich: 4.5/5
Mascarpone cheese cake: 3/5
Sautéed kala chana: 5/5
Kashmiri kahwa: 5/5
Bowl if sprouts: 5/5
Tapri special hibiscus ice tea: 5/5

Its such a amazing place to have Brekie in the city beautiful. I just love their preparation and roof is cheery on the top.

Highly Recommended!!

A good place without any doubt. Good and nice place. I got sandwich was fresh and delicious.
Ginger tea was awesome. The flavour of ginger was too good and tasty tea.
Prathu Bansal | The Chewing Chewer
I’ll be short and concise when talking about this old school tea house! They are the pioneers in bringing back good tea to the city. To date, they serve the best tea in Jaipur! Even when compared to their own other outlets.

Can’t say much about food though because they is where they loose that star. They really need to work on what they want people to eat. The food is boring but they get full marks in all other aspects.

What I would recommend? Their Hibiscus Iced Tea!

The first of all the five tapris
A small and sober and the cutest of all.
It is rightly said the first vis the best, later once may just get a little better.

Tapri pratham was the first cafe I have visited in 2015 since then this is my favorite cafe in town. They have cozy ambiance
Positive vibes, location is so good .
Food is up to the mark . I have tried golgapp shots , nachos ,and their masala sandwiches are my favorite ♥️
Coffee nd tea is Soo good .

Good place for tea and snacks. Good for a supper
I like their corn shots, vada pao, chai, dal pakwan, khakhra platter. Their corn shots are just the best.
Ribhu Vashishtha
Poor service. Took 45 minutes to bring 2 dishes. Later at 8:30 p.m. closing time the waiter said, "sir hope you will not order anything else"
Saksham Bhargava
Here we are presenting you yet another dish from Tapri! We tried this nacho cheese platter which comes with a lot of cheese, tomato, onion and much more!
Well, it turns out that it didn’t taste as good as we had expected it to be. It could’ve tasted a lot tastier if the cheese were melted. Still, you guys can try it once!
.
🔸Taste: 2.5/5
🔸Price: ₹250
On The Platter
Tapri Pratham is love. We have spent hours sitting at this place during our student days. Studying, passing time untill the next class begins, trying every dish on their menu, gossiping with friends and then again going there for special occasions too.

This outlet is quite like a hidden gem unlike the other ones but still favourite to all.

It offers sitting like that of a chai Tapri, but totally glammed up.

We really love their Tadka Maggi and haven't had one such at any other place.

The chotu idly platter makes us drool.

Even their simplest of the dishes like Kala Chana Chaat or Rajma Pakwan are awesome.

The best part is that they maintain class and consistency at all of their branches.

We highly recommend paying a visit to any of the branches whenever in town, like from the bottom of our hearts.
Pragati Rathore
Tapri - Pratham was obviously the first Tapri that was loved so much. It has an old and cozy vibe, you'll love it only if you're into such places. The food is good enough. Nothing like Tapri, where each outlet has its own aura and vibe.
I had Tadka Maggie and Pizza, with Masala Chai. The khakra and parle-G were complimentary.
Parul
Tapri is a anytime go place from breakfast, to lunch, to dinner or just to eat and spend good time.
Though this Tapri is little less spacious but it still has maintenaned the Tapri standards.
Food is good and tea even better.
They have good variety in menu ,so their is something for everyone.
Gautam Panigrahi
A beautiful cafe nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the quiet Everest Colony area. A beautiful garden greets you as you enter the cafe. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. We took the indoor one as we wanted the AC.

The food was usually quite different great. Their fusion Maggie was something i tried for the first time and it was great with all the brocollis and mushrooms. Their chilli garlic toast was smooth with dollops of melted cheese on it with a string garlic flavour which we absolutely loved. Their global khakhra was something i tried for the first time and for people wondering what is it, its a pizza with the Gujarati khakhra as the base. A must try. Also their ginger chai has never failed us so nothing much to write about it.

Ambience- 4.5/5
Food- 5/5
Service- 4.5/5
Value for money- 4.5/5

A small and cosy place.... We had firangi maggi whose taste was unmatchable... .. but the best I loved was the hand beaten coffee... Rarely found in cafes.. it reminded me of the school sleep overs and friends!!
Wimpy
This was the first ever cafe I visited in the year 2012 for an impromptu meeting with someone and since then there is no looking back for this place. Its cosy, beautiful, radiant and just pure love. I have had many many beautiful conversation here on cups of filter coffee and hand beaten coffee. It's like bible for cafe culture. Must visit.
Harneet Sachdeva
My all time favourite place to visit in jaipur. Cheese corn shots, khakhra pizza, chai with parle-g biscuits, maggie are must haves. The service is good.
Born Foodie
One of the best snack point in jaipur one if my friend took me to this place nd since then i m in love with this place,

Super awsome ambience with nice music.

They serve tea in kettle nd glass cups which gives a DESI touch.
Their cheese golgappas stole my heart nd cant wait to have them again,

5 out of 5 stars, keep rocking team.
Shrishti Sharma
Ambience is not so great but the food compensates for that. Amazing food and courteous staff. Pocket friendly place. One of the best dishes tapri has to offer is their tadka Maggi with cold coffee/iced tea.
The Pink Plate
Haven’t met a person who’s been here and got disappointed. Morning or evening, time before college or afterwards, sutta with friends or chai date with your boyfriend, why go somewhere else ?
😍
Ultimate destination for Chai and vadapav lovers ☕️
Corn cheese shots, Firangi Maggi, Sev Puri and Dal Pakwan are my favs ! ✨
Kajal Vidhani
I haven't met any person who has been to Tapri and not loved it. It is one of the finest places in Jaipur from years!
In frame- corn shots and cheese garlic bread. Loved them both.
Ps- I order corn shots everytime I go there. 🌽❣️

This place is beyond rating. A very old cafe which serves a lot of variety of tea and street food. I will call it a modern tea stall. Been there several times since last 10 years or more but never bored! Too late to review the property though 😃 don’t even give a second thought, go enjoy!

Ambiance 5/5 • Service 4/5 • Food 4/5 • Price 4/5
It feels great when you come here in early mornings ! The idea of everything simple feels good. For someone who likes such coloured windows, wooden tables and green foliage🍃✨
I’d come here again soon to have garlic bread and coffee ! Menu offers some good familiar and some interesting dishes to try.
#simpleyetdelicious
#morningplace
As the name of the outlet is TAPRI which is basically known as for चाय stalls..
This outlet is perfect for the चाय bcz the taste of चाय is up to the mark.
We went there for some meeting purpose.

Food:- 1.we have ordered pizza and cheese puchkes.
Honestly the taste was ok ok.
2. But i took lots of lots of kettles of tea.. as they served in kettles.. bcz the चाय was so so amazing. (I was having cold that time and it workes for me so well).

Conclusion:- चाय lover must visit that place.
.
.
LOVE:-
.
BHAVYA ❤

One of my favourite places , I came here after 3 years and it is still the same ( the service, the taste and the menu.. Constant is new love). My favourite is masala chai than ginger and fav dish is sev puri, vada pav and veg maggie..

Overall 4/5
Service 4.5/5
Food 4/5
Ambience 4/5
Vishakha Singh
I love the vibes of this place. Each table is equipped with a remote sort of thing to get quick access to attendants. I'm not a tea person, but I keep coming here for snacks. Their Vadapavs and Firangi Maggi has to be my favourite. There is enough room for seating inside and outside. I find their menu quite interesting! Stuff they serve is little overpriced but then the quality kind of justifies it.

If in Jaipur, must visit. There are 3 outlets.
Sampann Narang
For the chai lovers dis place is something you can look for. They a and outdoor seating which is covered with green fence that gives u a calm and relaxed feeling. Tried out the corn cheese shots, global khakra pizza. Liked the corn cheese shots . The tea is served in colorful glasses something different.
Sorabh Tongia
It’s been three four times that the tea being served here is not up to the mark , which it used to be . Inspite of mentioning to make strong tea , they are serving very light tea . Management needs to check with the chef 👨🏻‍🍳.
Anshul Karwa
This is the first tapri. The location is not that great as compared to that of Tapri central, the crowd here is mostly of students as it is situated in lal kothi. The place looks very lively and on top of that service is also good. They have seating both inside and outside. Have been visiting tapri since 3-4 years and have never been disappointed. They have same menu in all the three restaurants.
Masala tea - 4/5
Special vada pav - 5/5 (must try)
iced tea - 4/5
Corn shots - 4/5 (must try)
Namkeen shots - 3.5/5
tadka maggi - 4/5
Dal pakwan - 4.5/5 (must try)
Overall a great restaurant to visit with your friends or you partner.

I heard about Tapri from a lot of friends and it's definitely quite popular as there was a waiting time of over 20 min when I went there. Worth the wait though.

Beautiful ambience with a warm tones and wooden layout. There's also the terrace but I didn't go as it was cold. It's a smartly designed place; there's buttons on every seat for calling the waiter amongst other thing.

Their beverages are of course great. I tried their handcrafted version Jasmine Pearl with a Grand Panini and a few snacks. The infusion was delightful, with a subtle undertone of flavours and strong jasmine essence. The food also pretty good and light on spices.

Great place for a good time out with family or friends.
Ritika Singh
Corn shots are really good here..But the pasta was really horrible..worst pasta ever. Neither pink sauce pasta nor white sauce pasta was good.
Nimesh Malhotra || Aaloo Kachaloo
This tapri outlet is quite near to our college and unlike the tapri central they serve their entire menu in the breakfast timings and is a place point and makes this place my first preference, do visit them and try their vada pav and their bull bull ice tea which are certainly the best in class
Dhruv
Politely saying this is a place for sophisticated and silent people with a good sense of taste.
Well lets talk about ambience it has a basic theme and sitting arrangement with a old school typo.
Food is amazing and mouth watering.
Priyanka
Cool place to hangout with friends...Food is good...Vada pav ana samosa...a combination to try😝 ... Masala chai is okay...Not that great...Better to have your cup of tea...😄
Parikshit Kapila
Great food and drinks... Be it watermelon juice, tapri chai, coffee, poha, types of Maggi..
Best part was Gehun Singh... Something new which we had tried and it tatsed awesome. A must visit place if you are in Jaipur.

Tapri is one of my favourites!

Been there to have a tadka maggie and masala tea!
Totally delicious!
Tried Cheese chilli toast- it was just average!

I feel tapri is bit overpriced that’s why 4!
Fodder For Thoughts
Obviously not at par with Tapri, C-scheme; there is nothing like sitting there with the wind in your hair. This one has a little dim, dull ambience and would not really lighten up your mood. If you are coming with an aim to just feel relaxed, you can probably go to other places but somehow the light and the entire vibe makes you go a little low on energy!
Sneha Sharma
Place is quiet overpriced. Honestly there are more cafes in the same area serving the same and even better quality and variety of food and are quiet pocket friendly. We ordered ginger tea, khakhra pizza and dal pakode. We didn't like the pakode but pizza was decent. Ambience is very normal but the benches were really uncomfortable if you want to sit for long. A one time visit place.
Richa Kumari
Tea is AWESOME. Friendly nature, ambiance is a great, place to must visit. Easy to catch restaurants, location is good. A place for True Friend, lover and family too.
Foodisbae
Tapri gave jaipurities their love for tea back! Hola love their rose tea and vada pao!
Initially in 2011 we used to go to this place daily just to have their cutting chai or masala chai! Now times have changed and Jaipur has got so many cafés yet this one holds a special place for any tea lover.. but yes now we end up going to surana building tapri rather then this cute little one!
Saumya Mathur
I have clearly mentioned in the cooking instructions that do not garnish my tadka Maggie with fried onions, but they did not follow it and it's full of fried onions
CAFE QUEEN👑
I love the ambience...The food....But the staff was quite rude and I I seriously didn't find it good as it's the only thing which I hated at that place most.... Food I have tried at this place are
Cheese maggiee -- ❤❤❤❤
Sprouts -- ❤❤❤❤
Sabudana khichdi -- ❤❤❤
Mukul Mittal
A very good place to hangout with friends and colleagues.
Tapri is a place where you can spend your lunch or tea break time and it offers you a large variety of Flavored Tea.
Ambience nice and cool.
Separate smoking area.
Menu with unique things.
I tried masal chai and GLOBAL KHAKRA PIZZA and its was very good.
You can try out.
Sitting area is small and tapri need to improve it. You will need to adjust to sit if you are 6-7 persons.

Overall it is good place
Anushka
This is the first outlet of tapri in jaipur, and it hasn’t stop growing ever since then!
The place is a very chic, beautiful lil tea place and the interiors are cute and basic
I love almost everything there but the must tries are
Their Ice tea, Vada pav, Tadka maggi and chhotu idli platter!
Love it❤️
Shubham Mittal
The best part of tapri is none other than masala chai...take it with a bowl of tadka maggi with cheese topings and a lot of talks with your group..a great place to hangout with...enjoy your food, quality and ambience at a single point of time

Tapri for me used to be like a must go place when it came to chai and some munching for like 3-4 years ago. But with their extreme popularity things started going downhill.

So yesterday after almost a gap of 4 years, I visited the birth place of tapri i.e. their Lal Kothi branch. Ambiance wise, I really love their outdoor sitting area, owing to the lush green plantations which are maintained very properly. Inside, it's good (as compared to current trend of focusing very much on interiors, I'd say it is Rustic).

So I ordered the following:

1. Vada Pao: 4/5: This used to be my favourite and a must order here coz of the tangy, spicy taste of vada. But what stole the attention is their Green Chutney, it's a bit sweet, a bit tangy, a bit minty, in short very refreshing. Out of 4 stars, 1 is definitely for that chutney. I also quite liked the sweet green chilli they serve alongside. So take a bite of vada pao smeared in chutney and then a bite of green chilli.

2. TOC Panini: 3.5/5: Now this dish costs a whopping 210/-. I mean for a bread loaf filled with less tomato, normal capsicum and way too much onions smeared with pesto spread. Portion wise, it's fulfilling but feels more dry. I mean you'll enjoy having first portion (out of 3) but after that you'll get bored.

3. Lemon Mint Iced Tea: 3/5: I would've rated this drink a good 4.5/5 have it not been so sickingly SWEET! I mean can't they understand that it's "lemon-mint" not "sugar-mint". On 3 instances I had sugar particles in my mouth which made pretty obvious the excess use of Kitchen Sugar in the drink. Portion wise, it was a big glass but if you order it next time, ask your server to keep sugar levels normal.

So the total food costed me around 460 rupees which I feel is okay (neither too much nor too less). Ambiance wise, I like this branch of tapri more than it's central branch coz the vibes here are more laid back and relaxed as compared to that, where it's all about show-off. I'll give an over all rating of 3.5 which can definitely be 4, given they make improvements in the food.

Follow my page for next review, till keep munching, keep discovering and keep sharing.

When nothing comes to mind or cant agree upon a place to go, Tapri is the saviour. Perfect place. Perfect food. All time favorite place to hang out with friends.
Amrendra Kumar
Been there many times . Good to see a concept for serving tea street style with standard .Having good collection of different tea from around the country .They are also having food menu for your light appetite.
Rahul Shekhar
Huge scam done by the staff here. They cheat customers on quantity. They serve less in pot of tea orders. And change glasses for things they are supposed to serve in mugs. Guys catch them red handed next time you go.

Tapri is well known for its Tea Culture.

We had :
Masala Maggie: 5/5

Bombay Sandwich: 5/5

Tea: 5/5

Best Time to Visit: Morning / Evening 5-7

I would surely Recommend this Place to people if you are tea lover.

It is so reasonable. We can go here on daily basis. And doesn't cost too much.
And the food is also good.
We ordered grill sandwich and sprouts with coffee.
But coffe is worst😂
Apart overall food is ok and within budget.
Deepali Jhanwar
I used to love this place. Drinking thadi style tea at good place was immense pleasure. But sadly, now a days taste is going down. Yesterday I ordered tea, the taste was horrible with no sugar. Kindly improve it...Wanna be a TAPRI client always

This was my third visit to tapri. It’s the best tea cafe so far.
Concept superb
Varieties superb
Staff amazing
Ambience superb
If you want a good budgeted place to hangout with your friends then tapri is must go place. Tapri (Old) located in area of Lal Kothi. It is always a good point to meet up.... or i can say a best place for get-together with friends and family.

Now lets talk about food:

1) Idli platter: more veggies to be added only capsicum is not sufficient. Tapri is a really nice and chill place to go out with friends and hangout. My absolute favourite here is the mushroom cheese sandwich. It tastes delicious and the green chutney has the right balance of flavours and tastes so fresh. Another thing that i like here is aloo k parathe. Well stuffed and mouth watering. I also like the strawberry shake, desh videsh pizza and pesto green pasta.

Tapri is best in Jaipur when it comes to cafes and i mean it ! Go there have tea, have food ,have whatever you love and a good ambience with make your visit cool. Visited this place twice and loved it both times. Tapri has two branches in jaipur , other one is located at c-scheme which I prefer more due to its roof top availability ! Baki taste wise both are damn good specially tea my favourite tea ! Guys must visit this place with friends n dear ones you will enjoy it most.
Prayas Sutar
Nice ambiance. Got a small table for four people. Had oolong tea, kahwa, pesto and spinach pasta, dal pakwan, kaala chana and sprouts. All except the last one were good. Oolong tea was stand out. Not giving 5 star as I think it could be more value for money.
Banhisikha Das
The ambience is just okay. Well it could be considered little congested than the other outlets. The food was nice and upto the mark. We ordered:

Chotu idli platter:
It was delicious and could considered a perfect breakfast. It contained idli smaller than the actual size with two kinds of chutney.

Mushroom cheese sandwich:
They are well balanced sandwiches with mushrooms and cheese. They are crisy. They are served with a green chutney.

Hibiscus herbal tea:
It is very sour in taste. If you like sour things, then you can go for it.

Flower and flirt:
It is also a herbal tea. Little sour in taste, just the sourness of the fruits.
Pallavi Patni
Second home for me.... Ginger tea is a must. Menu includes homely food with great taste. Ambience is a plus point here including good music.... If anyone visiting Jaipur.. do not miss this place😀
Siddharth.bapna17
This place is centrally located in the city. Pleasantly, that is not even the best part because the "chai" is what brings people here and rightly so since its Tapri. Delicious food items out of which, I would certainly recommend Samosa Bun, Dal Pakwan, Namkeen Shots, and a lot more. Worth visiting 4-5 times a week.
Abhishek Khandelwal
That was really a good experience......Tapri is always a good point to meet up.... or i can say a best place....... it was overall an amazing experience....

Now lets talk about food:

1) Idli platter: more veggies to be added only capsicum is not sufficient. One of my favourite place to hangout. So decent , soft music where u can actually talk to person sitting in front of you without shouting.
Five stars to food quality they have maintained from past so many years. Delicious & authentic food.
Ordered :
Gehu Singh: 5 star
Aloo paratha with fresh makhan: 5 star
Tapri Coffee: 4 star not hot enough
Kulhad masala coffee: 4 star cuz it was not hot enough & after they pour it in kulhad it was as good as cold coffee.

The only issue is with hotness of coffee otw tapri rocks 👍

The tea lovers would love the place . They serve such simple things with the authentic taste and nice ambience . The staff is really polite and the service is good. The food taste good but not that great. Good for hanging out with friends or meet up .

A monsoon morning is not enjoyed if you haven’t been to this place!!!
Fantastically done interiors and one of the best views of the city!!
Must try is :Poha, which was cooked tastefully to perfection.
Chai as usual is the best of this place! Try Cutting Masala chai, even that Parle G tastes better..
Aloo pyaz paratha had scope of improvement as it was a lot of amchoor which made it taste too sour... rest everything including service is great!
ordered sauted vegetable . they served raw vegetable with pinch of oil in it . Garlic bread served by them was soggy.

Overall Horrendous food . Waste of money. Service is also delayed. they are more interested in delivering to online order than serving the food to customer visiting their cafe.

Quantity does not match prices. Not sufficient even for a small child.

This is the very first tapri outlets in Jaipur, thought this place is small as compare to other ones but still the seating arrangements is good and doesn’t make it congested. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating.

The menu is almost same as other.

Things to try are

Masala chai

Bull bull ice tea

Vada pao

Dal pakwan

Overall everything is good and tasty and affordable.

JFG rating:

Service – 4.5/5

Ambiance – 5/5

Quality – 4.5/5

Price – 4.5/5

Overall – 4.75/5

Will I visit again?

Yes

This is just awesome place for breakfast. This place reminds us of our traditional way of having paratha with tea. Taste of every item is original. This is must visit place if you are around Jaipur.
It's been 5 years since I visited this place again and there haven't been any changes.
The theme is still the same. Focus is on offering an upscale ambience for Chae/Tea lovers.
They still offer tiny Parle-G biscuit pack when you order tea. Ambience is upscale, filmy, and Tea-ish.
Offers an outside seating to have proper tea stall feel as well as interior seating for having group gossip meetups or couples tea sessions.
Amongst the must go restaurant when you're visiting Jaipur.
