Review Karnot Mahal - Jaipur

This was our second time staying at the fabulous Karnot Mahal. The location is great for exploring the old city. The Karnot is a heritage hotel with nice ambience, decorative rooms, a nice pool table room, great outdoor courtyard area, where you can sit and enjoy a meal and a cold beer, with views of the market streets below. Very comfortable and relaxed! Shishu Pal and the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay of 6 nights and hope to return again soon.

A friend referred the Hotel to me and said it reflects the true taste of Jaipur and he was nothing but so right. First view of Hotel took my breath away as I was not expecting this grandeur in my budget. Simple but warm front desk help us check into our rooms which was located on second floor. Terrace outside the room gave amazing view of the Hotel. As the evening came by and we got introduced to the hotel in better way I liked it more and more. Manager told us that they do not have many rooms but the property is very big so the guest feel as if they are living in a dedicated palace. Unrestricted access to all areas such as private bar and library, billiards room did not let me feel for once that I was confined in a room. It was truly a stead deal and a real royal stay in every which way. The Hotel is not extremely luxurious but has a raw taste of luxury attached in every corner and has its own unique character. A must go for all.

Food and architecture here is awesome. Its location is very near to the Hawa Mahal which makes this a very exclusive property. The outdoor sitting area on roof is amazing, you get a lovely panoramic view as its a corner property. Parking and entrance is a downside but overall this property is 5*!

Booked through oyo for 1 night temporary stay, found to be a real heritage palace turned to hotel. Cant say that as the best in town, but a perfect value for money, with the proximity to many imp monuments in pink city. None can imagien that there is a hotel at the entrance gate. A few things can be improved, but the 5 star for the vintage feel at such a low cost.

Location: is very good. It's barely a kilometer from the Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Johari Market. It's also not too far away from the train station and other attractions such as the Albert Hall Museum, Birla Temple and the forts of Amber, Jaigarh and Nahargarh. Food: they have an in house restaurant.however, they don't keep enough stocks on hand and they will purchase fresh produce. So be prepared for a waiting time of 1hour. We liked their aloo parathas and laal maas! Service: prompt and responsive. Also provided us with several tips on attractions to visit and eateries to try out. Full marks! Cleanliness: overall was ok, the washrooms could be cleaner. Sleep quality: can be a bit noisy owing to the traffic sounds from the streets and the incessant honking. Summary: for a trip of three or four days, I think this place does tick almost all the boxes!

Its location is very prime. Though the hotel is old, and not in very good shape. You cannot expect luxury and facilities here. It's a basic guest house with all necessities. The staff is friendly and helpful and gives good suggestions on how to travel around the city.

The staff is very helpful and always ready to help. The place looks over the beautiful city .and from the roof you can get the view of the forts which is magnificent. Rooms are large and it gives you feeling of a palace.

It is an old property but well managed. Rooms are clean and good service provided. The quality of the food is not that much good. Vegetables were not that much delicious. The hotel is near to Hawa Mahal. Overall good stay in the hotel.

I visited this place in June month the property is really good we have a deluxe room with bath tub in very reasonable price with breakfast . When we were entering in the hotel , entry was not good and i thought i have done a mistake in choosing this property but when i came inside the hotel i was like "Wowww" Good Things - Very Spacious Food is really good i enjoyed my food and drinks on the roof top area all famous place located near to this hotel . located in the main market so you can enjoy old city . Bad things I visited in rainy day - avoid that while travelling . Hotel entry was bad but its not a show stopper for me - can be improved Will visit again for good food and spacious room and roof top food and drinks :)

I have been to this place during peak of monsoon...Jaipur was flooded. I somehow reached the place..initially the place was a put off but the moment I entered the gate the perception changed completely. Enjoyed my stay...centrally located and delicious food. I think most customers would turn their back looking at the entrance..the problem is common for all the hotels in old city Jaipur. ..don't make up mind from the facade..experience it.

A heritage hotel, with 2 to 3 star facilities. Has some 14 rooms made in the then home of the guerrilla warfare Head Shri Karnot from the Raja Jai Singh Era. Located in the center of Old Jaipur, the so called Pink City.. Walking distance from Hawa Mahal, Johri Bazaar. 10 mins from City Palace, Jantar Mantar etc. The Hotel is not very upscale but classy for sure. It has open spaces, terraces and relaxing areas. Surrounded by local markets, vendors, shops. You can see the shinning forts of jaigarh, nahargarh and amer at the peak of mountains from here. Budget 5/5 Services 3/5 Food 3/5 Ambience 4/5 Facilities 3/5

It's a peaceful place to stay right above a big market in center of the town, for people who want to experience some budget heritage stay, it's architecture planing resembles to a century ago styles, if you are staying here do take some time to watch the sunset on the top of this building

I was on a trip to Jaipur to see there heritage and explore the city, so I want a hotel with good facility and which is very close to main city, so I searched a lot and found this. Though hotel is in main city near Hawa Maha which is good and the facilities are very good especially food and royal treatment, you will find this hotel very reasonable and good if you want to visit the real Jaipur
