Review Monica's Restaurant - Jaisalmer

Ashish Mohan Jha
I was wandering around Jaisalmer near fort and when the time came for dinner found myself near Monica's restaurant. Given the location and outward look, the name sounded strange 🤔. The staircase to this 3rd floor roof top place was steep. Obviously there is no lift😔. Found the menu very modern with complete dishes mentioned along with typical plate wise Indian options. We skeptical ordered dishes (bhuna ghost with naan & rice). The food was amazing. Service was excellent ANF waiters were very polite. Price was very reasonable. You can view the fort from here. Highly recommend.

Restraunt serves all kinds of food including Dal Bati Churma and Laal Maas which are delicacies of Rajasthan. For service and taste of food 5/5. Location is just opposite the main entrance of gate Ambience 4/5. Better to sit on terrace on second floor. Rate are not very high if u look at the tourist place. Overall a nice experience of dining.

Really tasty food and a nice rooftop location. We really enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the mutton bhuni. Efficient service and reasonable prices make this a great lunch or dinner spot.

This place will serve the most authentic Rajasthani thali to you. The essence of the food will tell you that your taste buds are about for a trip. The daal bhati is a cherry on the cake. Not only it ends here . It also serves other delicacies for the travellers of the world. If you are in Jaisalmer Monica restaurant should be on the top of your list. Pocket friendly.

Strategically located in front of the main gate of Golden fort, do visit to taste the authentic Rajasthani food at this rooftop restaurant. Highly recommended.

Monica's is still one of my greates memories from backpacking through India. It's been a while (this is not a Staind referance) since I was there, but if it's anything like it was - Go there and write a new review if needed. The food is amazing, the service is out of this world and there is a bang-lassi stall on the street just outside. The train-spotting-like-toilet just adds to the whole India-experience.
