This is a gem, with its rich history and captivating architecture. First and foremost it offers free entry to all visitors and it is open 24x7, allowing visitors to experience its magic at any time of the day or night. For the best experience, we recommend visiting early morning or in the evening when the beauty of the surroundings is enhanced. It feels like stepping back in time. Built-in the 1700s, the structure was built with red sandstone with exquisite carvings. The beautifully designed stairs are adorned with intricate motifs and patterns. Be cautious while descending to the water source as stairs can be worn out and slippery. It is one of the last remaining traditional water sources in the city. As you sit on the stairs, gazing at the tranquil water-body, you can't help but feel a sense of peace and serenity wash over you. It is the perfect spot to de-stress, escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings. Whether you're alone, with your partner, friends, or family, the experience is bound to be equally captivating. The time spent here can range from one to three hours, depending on your preferences. One of the best aspects of this tourist spot is its central location, making it easily accessible to all. Transportation is very easy, so you can explore the nearby restaurants and rooftop cafés after your visit. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend this tourist spot to anyone visiting the city, even if it's just for a day. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple in search of a romantic spot, a group of friends seeking adventure, or a family looking for a memorable outing, this place has something for everyone.

It was an amazing experience to visit such a historic place and relieve the moment of super calmness. At first glance you are only but mesmerised by the magnificent architecture of ancient history and once you tumble down the stairs, you truly find how beautiful is the scenic beauty is from down below. All the small cafes that are around, give you an immense example of enjoying at peace, while you are sipping a cup of coffee and a cookie. The small lanes from where you have to pass by is something you cherish and enjoy all the old age architectural designs of homes around this place

Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi aka Stepwell... 1) Built in 1740 by Queen Jaikanwar Toonwar Ji wife of Jodhpur's King Abhay Singh Ji. That's why it is named after her. 2) This stepwell is the perfect example of Ancient Architecture of India. As lots of carvings of animals etc are created on its stone walls. 3) This stepwell was used to collect water for drinking, bathing and all sorts of purposes. One pair of Ox was used at that time, to lift up the water. 4) No Entry Fees to visit this place, it's completely free of cost. 5) Best time to visit - In Morning or during Sunset for cooling and soothing effect. 6) It is 200 feet deep and very Dangerous to swim in if you're not an expert in swimming in these kinds of places, so pls beware of trying as it has already taken many lives in imprudence. 7) No fees for Photography or Videography at this place, feel free to capture the beauty of it. 8) Lots of fabulous cafes and restaurants are located near this heavenly place. Visit them for fabulous Instagrammable Pictures. 9) You'll find lots of Fishes too, in the water.

It is so beautiful.there are fishes in this step tank and we can go to the water level with the help of the steps. I noticed steps inside water too. The architecture is beautiful. Multiple pre wedding shoots were happening when we visited. I will suggest you to visit this in the evening or morning because we cannot enjoy it because of the sun.

This is a remarkable place to visit in Jodhpur. Until not too long ago it was covered in filth and litter - locals not taking pride in their history. However a foreigner saw the potential in cleaning the place up and he nearly singlehandedly cleared it of the rubbish. It is now a beautiful place to relax or swim. At night the nearby restaurants often light the steps with candles which is particularly pretty. If you feel adventurous you can jump from the top. It's enjoyable to see the fish scarper as you fall towards them.

This stepwell is quite a marvelous place that certainly leaves a strong impression in the heart and mind of its visitors. It is open for the visitors and does not have any entry ticket. Its easy accessibility makes it quite a hip and hap spot in the entire old city where you see locals and tourists hanging out. Water is also relatively very clean with almost no litter.

Toorji Ka Jhalara is a hidden gem nestled within the heart of Jodhpur, and it's a testament to the city's rich history and architectural beauty. As I walked down the winding pathways, I was captivated by the intricate stepwell structure that dates back centuries. The symphony of colors, from the vibrant blue-painted buildings to the warm, sun-kissed stone walls, created a picturesque backdrop. It's a perfect spot for photographers and history enthusiasts alike. Descending into the depths of the stepwell, I was transported to a different era. The cool breeze and the mesmerizing play of light and shadows made it a peaceful oasis in the bustling city. It's an ideal place to escape the scorching Rajasthan heat. The surrounding cafes and shops offer a delightful mix of local cuisine and crafts, allowing you to savor the flavors of Rajasthan and take home a piece of its heritage. Toorji Ka Jhalara is not just a historical site; it's an experience that immerses you in the cultural tapestry of Jodhpur. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of history, architecture, and serenity in this enchanting city.
