Review Gypsy The Family Dhaba - Jodhpur

Gaurav Kalambe
We entered Jodhpur and the first thing we did is visit Gypsy. Very much popular place to have veg fast food and it completely is worth all the hype. We loved it so much so that we visit it again for dinner as well. We had the rajasthani thali. Dahi wada, gulab jamun sabji (too oily, but is famous for it), burger (too good), lassi, chinese sizzler and a lot more. I strictly suggest that you visit the place if you are in Jodhpur.

Very well maintained and spacious restaurant. The seating arrangement and area are also neat and clean. Fast food items are highly overpriced. Ice cream and thali are reasonable. Single/ double / triple sundae ice cream are highly recommended.

Nice place with good food option and taste. They have many outlets across the city. Great place to have breakfast. Out of the food items we tried Panner Paratha, Chole Bature, Rabdi Ghevar and Oreo choco shake were excellent. Highly recommended when you visit Jodhpur.

Have a good food then come here..Gpsy Thali must to eat. Service is little slow. Ambience is good.Big parking area outside. Overpriced.
An Amazing Life
An overall amazing experience !!! A must visit place if you want to have a food which will please both your stomach and soul...

Caution...there are 2 Gypsy. 1 Gypsy offers Rajasthani Thali, this is the main Gypsy Restaurant - SUPERB food and MUST try. 2 Gypsy offers all cuisine and food quality is equally good.

Gypsy Restaurant is one the best food restaurants in Jodhpur. This one is the Cafe and food joint. You will get all types of coffee including South Indian filter coffee. In food they have a wide menu from fast food to varieties of Indian snacks and meals. Their Thaali is also well known although it's not a Rajasthani traditional thali but they have Ker Sangri, Gatta ki Sabji, Dal Baati etc as part of their Thali. It's a little expensive but the service and atmosphere is great for large family and friends groups. 5 stars to clean and well kept washroom.

A great place for trying out Indian cuisine. The place was clean and hygienic. Though it had only one washroom for all, which was a minus point from my point of view. I went with my friends for lunch, had a good time.

Must visit place for passionate foodies. ★ They are serving multi-cuisine (mostly Indian) food with good authentic taste. ★ The quantity & quality of food totally justifies the prices of dishes in here. ★ Good for every age group person, specially best for families' lunch & dinner. ★ This place is top notch in case of servicing. ★ Very hygienic and clean place. ... Taste - 4.6/5 Servicing - 5/5 Ambience - 4.9/5 ... Your service team is one of the golden asset in here.

Food is good...many items mentioned in today's menu were not available

Gypsy is one of best options to have food - Lunch, Dinner in Jodhpur. Place is pretty big and tables are plenty, there are two outlets on distance of 800m. You can walk in at anyone incase of waiting. Ambience of the place is good and food quality is also very good. We tried Chinese food and it was tasty. - Veg Manchurian dry - Veg Schezwan Fried Rice - Veg Hakka Noodles Food :- - Quality of the food is good, quantity is also good. - Prices are little bit on the higher side, but its ok. Overall must visit restaurant of visiting Jodhpur.

Came in for the Rajasthani thali. It did not disappoint. Everything tasted really good. My enormous appetite was craving for some more curries with this thali. That was my only complaint with it. The hot and sour soup was good and refreshing. Had also ordered the rice and rajma. The rajma felt as if it was actually made with love. It was perfect. The Raj khachori was taken for a snack later in the day. This might not be the best thali around but it is a safe bet in my opinion.

Best family restaurant in Jodhpur , Where you can eat unlimited food on basic price five hundred for each person , Taste is superb special rasmalai , Pulao , raita and bati churma but vegetables taste is very poor 😥

Let me start by complimenting the amazing ambience of this place. Quirky quotes and well thought of seating area will literally catch your attention. Moving over to the food, it was undoubtedly delicious. We went in a group and ended up ordering lot of dishes (pictures attached) and without any doubt, biryani, dal chawal and uttapam stood out. It’s safe to say that this place is totally recommended to curb your street food and multiple cuisine cravings.

This is another outlet of Jodhpurs favourite Restaurant Gypsy . <br/>The menu is same and so is the quality and service , the only difference is that you will never find it crowed and if you want to enjoy your meal in peace this is the place to go .<br/>Super tasty food at reasonable price and a big parking space .

Extremely amazing place to go with friends to give pocket friendly treats. The food never disappoints you. The food tastes authentic and doesn't have much oil.

Will refrain people from coming here. Bad food and pathetic taste

This place has a banner right outside the shop with pictures of espresso coffee... but it takes them 25mins to serve a cup. Alright, keeping that aside we ordered a ‘Raj Kachori’ which came before the coffee, the sad part is it tasted like uncooked wheat and was flavourless in the inside. I asked one of the waiters about my coffee all he said was “hmm” nodded his head and walked away, literally walked away. The pizza we ordered tasted like it was stolen from someone’s grave, absolutely lifeless with no character. The staff CAN NOT communicate... if only these guys paid more attention to their staff and the food instead of their ambience. I STRONGLY suggest people from avoiding this place, the waiters seem like they’ve been doped and the food isn’t worth the money AT ALL.

Bad food as always<br/><br/>Had a bad meal and evening with my wife at the Megna Tandoori last Wednesday 8th May. The food there is always bad and we are regular customers that go there usually once a week. The management and staff really go out of their way to ensure everyone. enjoys their visit and want to come back.<br/><br/>

The restaurant is spacious and has good sitting area, but could be crowded on weekends so reservation is recommended. Coming on to the food we mostly ordered everything Jain so the taste was okaish. The restaurant will be a good pick for good ambience, that's it, food 2.5/5

The restaurant is good.. Good interior.. Food quality is also good.. But the main issue is the service is verry verry slow.<br/>They keep on asking any order...any order..even if u had ordered something.<br/>In shore there is lack or coordination.. Between the waiters.<br/><br/>I suggest them to improve their customer response time.

Went there with my family with high expectations; but our evening was spoilt due to carelessness of their staff due to their substandard service, with no remorse at all.

Gypsy has a knack for serving one of the best veg foods you can get..be it their Raj Kachori, or the Amritsari paranthas or the Thali...you'll be satisfied with whatever you order...

Having reached Gypsy well in time for lunch, was surprised to be told that some of the items were not available. To an extend even milk was denied. We ordered chole bhutara, was good in taste but salty. Also ordered dosas, which were ok. Being in Rajasthan wanted to try ghata with phulkas, but they too were not available. Simply things done to the menu and ensuring food is available can do wonders to this restaurant, but for now was disappointed.
Biryani_Monster
They serve this huge paneer paratha and Dal makhani, just 2 piece of the paratha and your are almost full. The staff is cordial and welcoming. Pleasant place for traveller like me.

I love to dine in here. The staff is very friendly and always greet with smile. The food is scrumptious. The service is very fast. Which i never thought about. Ambience is beautiful.

Long waiting time and then u get weird stuff in ur food like threads!!<br/>And in two completely different dishes- in chowmein and shahi paneer!!<br/>And upon complaining, very conveniently told, Ma'am aa gaya hoga, sorry.

It is amazing restaurant. Service is also nice. We always go there for making our memories special. My kids also like it's menu specially pizza.

Beating the mid-week blues with a scrumptious lunch at the Gypsy Dhaba, Sardarpura!<br/><br/>Amritsari Paneer Paratha with Dal Makhani - indulgence at its very best!! The classic Punjabi combo with soul soothing flavours and heavenly aromas! Loaded with the goodness of butter and desi spices, this is definitely a cheat meal to binge on!<br/><br/>Manchurian with Chowmein Combo- when nothing seems right, go for desi chinese!! This dish works wonders for the hungry soul!!<br/><br/>Choco creamy coffee and Buttermilk- the perfect accompaniments to both the above dishes! Our go to drinks for sure!!<br/><br/>P.s. We love the quirky ambience of the place! Super chilled out vibes and great fun!

I love this restaurant. Whenever i miss flavor of my hometown I go there. I love every single dish they serve.... Pineapple shake, Dal Makhni, Chhole bhature, Rajma Chawal....every dish is mouthwatering..... I recommend this place to everyone who love spicy food.... A must visit place with your loved ones. but if you don't like rush and noises then dont go there because at rush time it seems like fish market.....seriously

We were in hurry and wanted to grab a quick bite for our trip to Jaisalmer. We were suggested one paratha and very honestly they said that one would be enough for two! We had aloo onion paratha! And it was huge with generous stuffing! We loved it! The curd served along with it was the best.. creamy, sufficiently thick and sufficiently sour! My husband is still talking about that curd!

In afternoon, if you accidently check into Gypsy you wind find nobody on seats and no dishes available on Menu. I want to try thali but I ended up eating below average Mix Veg Pizza worth 200. No matter what it is, you should serve almost all dishes. Taste is Ok, still you can try.

This is one of the best restaurant one can visit in jodhpur and can have a good feel of eating in a dhaba.I tried a variety of dishes and all were amzing in taste.Best thing to try is their paneer paratha which comes in a very huge size and excellent in taste.Reason i gave it a 4star is because of their non friendly staff otherwise its a recommended place to visit.

Food was not upto the mark, the manager behind the desk was very unfriendly and unprofessional. Can be avoided, better restaurants nearby.<br/>Ambience was the only notable and worthy thing. Seats were small but space was quite okay.

Again disappointment with Gypsi<br/><br/>After a long time we were let down by any place highly rated and recommended on Zomato.<br/>on our recent visit to Jodhpur we went for gypsy at sardarpura but didnt liked it much there got information and even discount coupon of 10% for there new outlet Gyspy Punjabi Dhaba<br/><br/>But only good thing here is that it has good interiors with some more space. But saidly again food is not that impressive.<br/><br/>We had ordered for starters Manchurian which saidly are like chewing hard rubber balls , Sizzler which didnt sizzle much, very less quantity of food . How can one serve such bland chinese food. Even their Noodles and fried rice were not tasting chinese. Even soups are not upto mark<br/><br/>Then we ordered Their favourite Pizza both the onion capcicum and punjabi taste the same BLAND. with only tasteless cheese with no spices no origano and chilly flakes.<br/><br/>To our surprise when we asked of oregano and chilly flakes we were denied stating that "yahan aisa hi miilta hai"<br/><br/>How can one answer this to customer ?<br/><br/>Their price for all items was on the higher side.<br/><br/>The only good thing is Frothy Coffee which came after waiting for ages.<br/><br/>The service was pathetic even with very less rush<br/><br/>I request management that with less varied options if people of Jodhpur do visit and like this place do pay attention to quality and most importantly quantity of food.

The well known restaurant of Jodhpur 'The Gypsy Dhaba'... Ambience of restaurant was lovely ... Old things were all around and u will get essence of old Jodhpur somewhere.... We ordered Chui Mui Kofta, 1 Naan, 2 Lacha paratha and 1 tandoori roti... Curry was nice... But I was not happy with Lacha Paratha... as it was not like Lacha in which there are layers..so it was not nice....... Service was upto the mark at peak time also... I am looking forward to visit again to try their Italian menu items 😍

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this place? NOTHING. Everything is perfect. The food, ambience, price, crowd and everything. I have nothing to complain about this place. All the Indian dishes made freshly and in desi ghee ( clarified butter) and that's what Rajasthan is famous for. ❤️
Mudrika Singhal
I must say that the quality of food and service has gone down severely. We have visited this place earlier also but this time we weren't satisfied. We ordered for Aloo tikki and it wasn't hot piping. Though it was replaced on request but the meal was not satisfying. The ambience is good though.

Gypsy seems to be pretty famous in its surroundings especially among tourists since everyone their recommended it when asked about famous eateries of Jodhpur.<br/>It is a modest outlet serving a good enough menu having dishes of all sorts including the common Naan-Daal, Pizzas, Pastas, Burgers etc. to more traditional and locally famous Dal Baati Churma.<br/>The ambiance is nice though the seating seem to be a bit less.<br/>Service is not something they can boast about since our order of thaali took a very long time and the staff their seemed pretty unenthusiastic about their work.<br/>We ordered a Supreme Thaali and Vada Pav.<br/>Vada Pav was good in taste but the chutney served with it was very spicy. Also it felt a little bit too dry for my pallate.<br/>The Supreme Thali though was a complete meal and and everything tasted well and balanced, though nothing exceptional was there.<br/>All in all, it is a good place to have your meal but I think it is a bit overrated amongst the crowd there as I did not find anything special about it!<br/>Still, if you are in Sardarpura area, this place can definitely satiate your hunger with tasty food!<br/><br/>Must Try: Supreme Thali<br/>Cost for two: 400/-

Now that Zomato is finally in Jodhpur, I can let the reviewing begin.<br/>During our short stay in Jodhpur at the Kothi Heritage, we had lunch at the Gypsy Family Dhaba that was right next to it.<br/>I absolutely loved that they've done with it. The interiors and everything so rustic. A little crowded with decor but I loved the look.<br/>We ordered for the special thali and one plate chole bhature along with butter milk and Punjabi lassi.<br/>Service was a little slow ( maybe because of the rush) but the food tasted great!<br/>Do pay a visit whenever in town!
