Review Anandha Bhavan - Kannur

RAHUL K
This is one among the top restaurants to be visited in Kannur to explore authentic kerala sea food items, especially for a variety of fish fries. We had tried meals with three fried items- Ayakkoora fry, Prawns fry and Fried Meenmutta. Among these Ayakkoora fry was the best. I would suggest you to consider the following observations also. The ideal time to visit this restaurant is around 12 PM, afterwards there will be a rush of people. The seating arrangements in the restaurant doesn't seem to be very comfortable. The service provided was not so good, in fact some of the employees seemed to be less concerned about the customers. Also, you may face difficulty in finding parking space.

Amazing fish meals at this popular restaurant. We had the marinaded prawns and kingfish with the meal, great food, the fish was freshly cooked and hot. Great service from all staff.

One among the 4 or 5 best Lunch homes in Kannur...tasty seafood delicacies along with rice and Kanjivellam (Rice gruel)...place is always full and bustling with people standing behind u waiting for their turn. Ignore and enjoy your meal and then give them their chance. No need to be nice people and eat fast without relishing each morsel.

The Kallummakaya Experience Amazing food spot in kannur for fish meals. We went for lunch and the place was packed. Tried Kallummakaya, avoli and Aykoora.. All are good for the price. 😍 Only drawback is the interiors are not spacious and paid parking inside the complex.

I just fell for the kallumaka, yes I felt hard for it 💚💚 Visited this Ananda bhavan restaurant during my Kannur trip on May '23. Peakly crowded during the lunch time, took me almost 15 mins to get a seat 😐 I tried their Fish curry meals, ayakoora meen fry and the very famous kallumaka fry. Ayakoora was soft and spongy with slight high spiced masalas pushing up a notch. Kallumaka fry was cooked skillfully and spices were just playing along with it seamlessly. It was quite difficult to find this restaurant as it was hidden inside a complex. Do ask the locals when finding the restaurant 🤙 One disappointing thing was the quantity of food they servce. It was very low compares to their exaggerating prices. 👎👎 Also, the space and ambience was too congested 🥵 that there was no walking space left around. Totally hectic. Thus far a good restaurant appreciated by the people of Kannur. Sure you can go for it ❤️ Seer

One of the best lunch homes in Kannur, sea food items like Mussels,Fish fry, squid, oysters are available here. Hotel lacks a bit in hygiene and ambience and the service by staffs are also not up to the mark. Place is usually crowded and the waiters are also not so cooperative.

Ananda Bhawan hotel is a nice group of hotels in india especially in kerala, chennai, delhi etc. They supply only veg food items throughout. They have so.many branches all over.

Excellent food. Typically it is crowded, but we showed up at 12:30 noon on a Sunday. Hence we could eat peacefully and enjoy the food.

I recently dined at Ananda Bhavan restaurant in Kannur, and the food was undeniably amazing. However, my experience was somewhat marred by a few factors. Despite choosing the AC service area, the air conditioning didn't seem to have much of an effect, making it uncomfortably warm. The restaurant was quite crowded during lunchtime, which added to the discomfort. As for the food, I had a variety of dishes, including koontal fry (squid fry), meen mutta (fish eggs), kallumma Kaya fry (mussels fry), Ayala (mackerel), ayakura (king fish), and muru (oyster fry). The diversity of seafood options was impressive, and the flavors were outstanding. Payasam was with additional price, Overall, while the food was excellent, the lack of effective air conditioning and the crowded atmosphere took away from what could have been a more delightful dining experience.

My two day stay at the hotel was super fab. The hotel staff members- Arun, Anisya, Anisha and the rest of the team were very courteous and professional. I was there the last weekend for my anniversary celebration and they made sure they arranged everything whatever I had asked for. Starting from arranging a cake to a pool side dinner, and even plain khichdi for my 2 yr old baby. The best part of the hotel is the view from the hotel. I highly recommend it to all.
