The snake park is a beautiful place to be. Good number of snakes and other animals can be seen there. It’s a small park but this could be one place to visit if you are in Kannur.

I visited the snake park in Kerala last week and I had a blast. The park is well-maintained and has a variety of snakes from different regions. I learned a lot about their habitats, diets, and behaviors from the informative guides. The highlight of the visit was the snake show, where the handlers demonstrated how to handle venomous snakes safely and humanely. They also explained the importance of snake conservation and how to avoid snake bites. I was impressed by their skills and courage. The snake park is a must-see for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. It is a fun and educational experience for all ages.

Our visit to the Snake Park and Zoo was an absolute delight! 🐍🦎 The park not only offers a thrilling snake experience but also has amazing rides for children. 🎑🎠 The kids had a blast, and we adults had a fantastic time too. The cafe serves nice snacks and coffee β˜•, perfect for recharging after exploring. Plus, the shops are a great place to pick up some souvenirs and you can buy some organic items too πŸ›οΈπŸ. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, making the visit both educational and fun. We highly recommend this unique attraction for families looking for adventure and a great time! πŸπŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸŽ‰

While the park is called a Snake Park, it also showcases collection of fish, crocodile, lizards and few other animals. The park is really well maintained. Please note that this is not a fully fledged zoo. One can spend a nice 30 to 60 mins here.

"Best enjoyed as a once in a lifetime visit. It boasts a wide variety of fish species, although it has fewer snakes compared to other major parks. However, it's worth noting that the park is not as well maintained or clean as one might expect."

Regarded as one of the finest snake sanctuaries of Asia, the Parassinikadavu Snake Park is the pride of the south. It is one of the most prominent reptile preservation centres in the country and is the only one in Kerala. The Parassinikadavu Snake Park is home to over 150 different species of reptiles like crocodiles, monitor lizards and snakes- both venomous and non-venomous. Not only reptiles and amphibians, but this snake park also goes a long way to preserve and protect many wild mammals, marine creatures as well as rare avifauna- both endemic and migratory.

It is a great place to visit with family. Like a mini zoo. There is an opportunity to learn about different types of snakes. There is also a nice aquarium. There is still a lot to improve. The premises are not very clean. Rest stations should be added. Daily maintenance seemed to be lacking.

The Parassinikkadavu Snake Park was established by Social activists lead by Hon. Ex-minister of state, M.V. Raghavan on January 8th, 1982 at the site purchased from Kerala Government. This snake park is an offshoot of Pappinisseri β€˜Visha Chikitsa Kendra’ intended for Snake bite treatments. The Pappinisseri snake bite treatment centre was established in the year 1964. This is a centre for curing patients of snake bite using the combination of Ayurvedic, Allopathic and Traditional practices. It was quite common that people bringing the victims of snake bites used to carry the snakes also, as alive, killed or hurt in many cases. Such snakes played a vital role in treatment since the treatment for snake bite differed for Vipers, Cobras, Kraits etc. It was easy for the physicians to provide immediate treatment once the snake is identified and the symptoms are tallying with the particular species of snake. The abundance in number of such captive snakes was a practical problem for the founders of the snake bite treatment centre. Understanding the magnitude of these incidences and to expand the research activities later in 1982 Parassinikkadavu Snake Park was established under the leadership of Sri. M. V. Raghavan the then President of Pappinisseri Visha Chikitsa Society with a noble intention for the conservation and protection of reptiles especially snakes and also to provide awareness for the protection of Wildlife and environment. The founders got inspiration from Sri. Romulus Whitaker, the famous conservationist and Herpetologist who was instrumental for the establishment of Snake Park and Crocodile Park in Chennai. Providing a practical opportunity to create awareness about the ecological significance of Snakes was the biggest motivation for Social activists of this region for establishing this Park. More than 50 lakhs people visited this Park during the last decade. This park has turned out to be significant education centre for students and general public for last 34 years. .

Snake Park is definitely trying to improve their setup or park, still a lot of improvements are needed to taken care of. There wasn't any water in the crocodile cage, and similarly a lot of changes can be made inorder to make the place much better. The workers should try cleaning the place before visitors are allowed as it feels really disrespectful to sweep while we are taking a walk or tour. Apart from that, definitely it's a place to visit once or twice.
