Review Kochi Kitchen - Kochi (Cochin)

Vineeth
It's behind Lulu and is part of Marriot hotel. Lots of options for good price compared to other pricey options in Cochin. Great service and superb 5 star ambience

We had a wonderful dinner at Kochi Kitchen for my wife’s birthday. More than the food, it was the service that was exceptional. Special thanks to Mr. Kushal for making our dinner experience memorable. Many a times its the hospitality that elevates the experience.

Visited here for a Dinner Buffet. Its located adjacent to Lulu mall. All the food items were really mouthwatering and authentic in flavours and taste. Restaurant has a great ambience and live music, you can get almost everything from starters to dessert. Some items are prepared on demand and other items are readily available at buffet. They charge around ₹5200 for two people. Also i should mention their dessert offerings as its one of the best in city.

One of the best breakfast buffets I have tried. Located afjacent to LULU . Amble parking seperate from Lulu parking available. Heart warming welcome from staffs right from beginning to end. They give very mich importance to customer satisfaction. Food was yummy, wide variety of dishes. All the items were professional and delicious. Enjoyed a long 2 hour dining experience with a happy smile along with some finger lickin deserts. Definitely should try from here!

Tried their lunch buffet. The starters were pretty good. The main course were mainly Chinese, north indian and kerala cuisines. Most of them were excellent except for their beef dishes which were average. They only have 2 drink options and the mixed fruit juice was good. The dessert counter was amazing. It had many types of pastries, north india sweets and ice cream section. They let in a lot of guests (more than 50) at one of point of time which slightly ruined the dine-in experience. They could have limited the buffet guest number as it is a 5 star hotel and ambience is all that matters. Food-9/10 Ambience-6.5/10 Service-9/10

A buffet dinner from a 5 star restaurant….to start with the infrastructure, ambience and their service is something that stays above everything 🌟🌟, the restaurant is neat and clean even for people with OCD, they have varieties of cuisine on offer..u can choose anything for your taste, I personally liked all their salads and rice items…something that also deserves an attention is the nutritional information that they have displayed along with each item. The chefs there are interactive and asks opinion abt the food they have served us. Its a bit on the costlier side but once in a while its a got to go place. Actually we will be confused..where to start from…but enjoy each food you will have more than enough time.

A super busy buffet restaurant. The restaurant is in Marriott hotel near lulumall. The breakfast spread is realy good and appeals to all kind of people be it international food or local kerala food. The food is good and they have live counters for egg, dosa and other items.

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at this place, and I must say that the starters and dessert were truly exceptional. The flavors and presentation were out of this world and left me wanting more. The courteous staff also added to the overall dining experience, and I would like to give a special mention to Abhishek (not sure, if that is his name), who was particularly nice and helpful throughout the meal. While the starters and dessert were outstanding, the main course did not quite live up to my expectations. I would give it a 3 out of 5 rating, as it was good but not as memorable as the rest of the meal. Overall, I had a nice dine-in experience, and I would recommend this place. Make sure thay you make a reservation.

Very good buffet n plenty of options to choose. I am not a buffet person, i tried just to see n taste different cuisines. Desserts section is pretty good, lot of choices. Definitely a worth trying if you like buffet, price is bit high( if you are not looking for budget friendly buffet, then will definitely recommend this place, worth to try).

During our staycation at Kochi Marriott Hotel, we had breakfast buffet and dinner from Kochi Kitchen for 3 days. The food is really delicious and the service is truly world-class! Breakfast is buffet, but for dinner you could order a-la-carte or opt for the buffet. We went with the buffet option for dinner as well. In addition to the self-service items from the buffet, there are several dishes available from the live kitchen, such as freshly prepared chaat, dosa, poori, pizzas, pastas, breads (naan/parathas), grilled vegetables/meat, etc. Be sure to try those too.

We went for celebrating our dad’s 80th birthday lunch. Beautiful ambience, polite and patient staff, excellent buffet choice. Achu and his team did a great job welcoming us and catering to our needs. Our 18 month old made a mess but they were so kind and made us not feel guilty.

Fancy expansive menu ✅ Live music ✅ A small Cafe for coffee on demand✅ Chat counter was really good. Food was comparatively better than other buffet places in Kochi, not particularly great but worth the ambience and price. Service was little slow and we had to ask for our orders multiple times. Special mention for one staff who served us coffee at the side Cafe when other staff were simply pushing the order around.

I seldom give a 5 star review but this restaurant deserves it because the whole dining experience is world class. If you like Kerala curries, they have a buffet which might be worth trying. We went a-la-carte because, as a Keralites, we can always get a curry. Everyone in the party opted for pizzas and I went for the steak despite being utterly disappointed with all the steaks I have ever had in India. The pizzas were good but the tenderloin steak was simply outstanding! The cooked weight of the steak is 200gms so it was a good size for a tenderloin. It was seared, seasoned, cooked to perfection and rested. I really don't recall when I last enjoyed a steak that much! We dined there again the following evening because everyone else wanted the steak and the restaurant did an exceptional job again! The service at the restaurant is very attentive, proactive and friendly. So a big thank you to chef Jayakrishnan and the entire crew of the Kochi Kitchen! We'll be back!

The array of dishes served for the Dinner Buffet is vast! I liked the diversity of dishes that were offered as some of us were pure vegetarian and the others non-veg. Special mention should go to the staff who brought the platter of foods to our table for my Elder Uncle. I really enjoyed the make-your-own Ramen chicken soup which was new for me. All the good tasted fresh and were delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for a 5 star buffet experience.

We went there as a group of 7 for dinner, we enjoyed the buffet very much. The buffet had so many varieties, side dishes, main courses, dessert and all that one can literally name. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The pricing was reasonable.

Fantastic spread of good varieties in the menu. From Capturing the authentic south dishes with Dosa to catering to every other dish on an English Breakfast menu, this place provides just about everything. Spacious seating area and seats with a view are also available. The desserts variety is amazing and the taste is overwhelming. Themed parties , live music in the evening, this place does not fail to amuse one. A pleasant restaurant with a great variety of delicious food to treat oneself.

Excellent choices for buffet. Attentive staff. Live counter is a must try with well thought out choices and great presentation. Everytime I come here I have something new to try. This time it was Japanese Chicken. Surprisingly it matched well with... wait for it... Curd rice. :D To top it off, the nice variety in desserts is a great way to finish a well organized "kitchen".
Anju
Item within a combo order, missing. However, they acknowledged and apologised. The food was tasty, neatly packed and quantity was sufficient.
Sreelakshmi
I ordered the Asian 5 Spice Chicken Pizza. It was just below average. The crust was thin but very chewy.Toppings were just okay. But according to Marriott standards I expected a lot.

During our vaccation to kerala we had breakfast and dinner buffet at kochi kitchen. And, food here is the best we had in kerala. All local food items are too good. Love their live pasta station, Yumm salads, super good freshly made pita bread, good desserts. Breakfast buffet spread was elaborated. Everything was yumm. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Roshen Charles Philips
Good food but the breads don't taste so food. Ambience is fine but overall kisses out in premium feel. Feels like you are in a luxury hotel canteen. Would prefer the airport marriot in terms of ambience.
Meenu
Went for the lunch buffet, but had an underwhelming experience. At a buffet, you need someone to guide you to the spread so that you don't miss out. There were more people behind the counter, but very few to guide. I don't know if it was because of the holiday, but service staff seemed less in number. The arrangement of the dishes also caused confusion as they were not placed in order. The soups were placed on one side, starters far away on the other side next to the main course. Some south Indian dishes like sambar and achinga mezhukkupuatti were placed next to North Indian dishes like dal fry and paneer and then after a few dishes, encountered Kerala Rice and South Indian dishes again. Options for vegetarians were limited and not up to the mark. The dal soup was pretty good, but the salads were too cold on a cold day. The pasta offered was okay, but the Chinese dishes were average at best.

Dessert section was the best part, but dessert spoons were not available. Some of the staff were helpful but the general air was one of indifference. Had expected a lot more in terms of spread, taste and hospitality from such a reputed restaurant, but it was pretty disappointing.

I visited this place during Ramadan for the Ramadan buffet. It had kept well high standards when it comes to food, there was a wide variety of food starting from Arabic, Indian, continental and what not. Basically anything and everything you wanted to have for breaking a fast during Ramadan. Well set in a peaceful ambience. Though desserts weren't upto the mark the starters and main course were amazing!
Would definitely visit again for a different kind of buffet soon.
Hayathi Ayoobkhan
Their buffets are a must try. A wide variety and most of the days, the main course cuisine focuses on either Kerala or Indian fusion. They also provide different types of bread, on request, baked especially for you.
Their desserts are to die for, and their chocolate cakes are a must try!
Sarath Sajeev
The lunch buffet was underwhelming. I think I missed the starters. The arrangement of food can be improved. All dishes were OK.
Overall the experience was not mouth watering.
James
Yes ,excited to say had the privilege to have one of the finest buffet i have ever had (i am talking as a common man ) ,I was not so interested in the starters (the juice i won't recommend it at it can loose ur appetite) All the dishes on the buffet table were well organised and in between the course the would bring special dishes like pearlspot roast prawns roast ,beef grill etc.. it was one of my finest dining experience.
Aarushi Kapur
Certainly lives up to Marriot standards...an extensive buffet accompanied with quite a few live and made to order counters as well..the pizzas, dosas, waffles and pancakes are a must try leaving regular north as well as south indian food aside...
Anil
Quality of food is good & it’s value for money. Quality of service is excellent. Selection of food can be added like North Indian. Sweets can be added.xcellent ambience. But for pizza only cheese is added some extra vegetables can be added. Special thanks to Mr. Birendra who treated us well. Thank you Mr. Birendra🙏

I visited the restaurant as part of my stay at Kochi Marriott for breakfast and other meals, and was left highly impressed with the spread, quality, service and taste of the food. We were a couple and a kid but were still seated at one of the larger tables, which was great considering how live counter items tend to pile up sometimes at your table. The chef's personal chat, quick turn-around times at live counters, fantastic taste and ever-smiling staff enhanced the overall experience at the restaurant multi-fold. Will definitely visit again!

The ambiance they keep on change that really makes not only everyone something new on every visit, the customer relationship excellent in all aspects from the front office to back office departments and in the kitchen end - the best part is they value customers even if its a buffet they most place provides on time and incase late they either wont let us in or they won’t let to sit after that point of time - here they do value customers and try to provide there best at the point even its our mistake that we were late on that particular section! The food even if its empty they do cook new as per our need - overall they never let there customers regret / let them to experience anything bad. The pastry , cookies , coco bean & custard well baked preserved & presented in a way which tempt to try at least one even though we are not used to / we even we are not chocoholic - i personally had a great experience every time i visit and i do try new dishes which melts me even im in a situation where im not that relaxed & as im chocoholic i do try all & the chocolate and the blueberry topping all blended in a equalled form which keeps it unique from other and the best part while we have we by accident swallow that soft it is and if its with hand damn sure we lick out fingers if none dint watch ! Overall Superb place to dine in / hangout with friends/ even to take girlfriend for a date !

The best buffet I had in Kochi. Loved how the buffet menu keeps changing to bring in happy surprises. Make sure to check out the dessert counter.

One of the best restaurant I have ever dine, the food was amazing, hospitality was follow less, probably that was the one of the best evening for me and my love.

Special thanks to Shankar, and Sukanta, you guys are really fabulous, thanks once again for going extra mile.

Great food and impeccably gracious staff. Have stayed here multiple times and have always been impressed with the staff's readiness to accomodate your special requests. Wonderful masala/regular chai just how you make them at home. I'm always sure to drink several cups when I'm here 😬

Did not opt for the buffet(which was a mistake). Placed the following order and these are my remarks-
Veg kadhai- laced with something like sweet chilly sauce,we sent it back and it came back weirder and after we finished our meal
Dal tadka-not half bad
Laccha Paratha- amazing. Very well made
Jeera rice- STD but good.
We had to tell 4 waiters to get finger bowls, the 4th one obliged. We were given some yummy complimentary dessert from the buffet And a polite sorry for bad service.
We waited forever for our order to be placed and returned. Am sorry but i expected much better from restaurant in Marriott.

This was my first time visit to Kochi kitchen. I went along with my friend for lunch. We noticed that the buffet spread was wide ranged however we want to eat something light hence we ordered from the menu . Food and service was very good and ambience too. Sibin in service was very attentive and polite .But preferably I will recommend this place for buffet.

Great place to come when you stay in Cochi. Breakfast spread is lavish. The Lunch buffet is also very lavish. Great service. Plus SPG members can get up to 20% discount.
Pranav Jonnalagadda
One of the best things about the buffet in Marriott is their vast choices of desserts and a wonderful ambience and the different cuisines of food they serve for an awesome 5 star experience.

The Food and The Ambience is Spot On. Nothing Compared to Other Places. why you ask ? Cause the Vibrant Numbers of Cuisine Served to you Is Unbelievably delighted and Won't stop your cravings. Cause as we move Ahead the The Diminishing Marginal Utility never Goes down and Stays On Point. Kerala Delights and En Number of Continental Dish's. The Desert and Main course go Hand in Hand. SPOT ON. Do Come and Experience the Food Carnival.
Last Friday, we headed to Kochi Kitchen at Marriott for Dinner. We opted for the Buffet and started off with Mutton Soup and Veg Pasta Soup. Both were clear soups and tasted good but we would've liked for a creamy soup option. The Buffet had quite a spread though the Salad Bar was a bit lacking, as were the Appetizers. Nonetheless, everything tasted delicious and my favorites were the Roast Chicken and Potatoes. Moving on to the Mains, there were numerous options in both Veg and Non-Veg, and everything we tried was delicious. We were also served a Grilled Fish Platter consisting of Grilled Sardines, Grilled Mullet, Spicy Fried Mahi Mahi and Chilli Crab. Every piece of fish on the Platter was absolutely delectable. As for breads, we opted for Butter Naans and Phulkas which were really good as well. We also ordered a glass of Sugarcane Juice (not included in the Buffet), served with Ginger & Lime. Super light, refreshing and tasty! Finally, getting to the Desserts, they tasted just as good as they looked, if not better! The Chocolate Mousse was one of the best I've had in a long time! We ended our meal with some piping hot Mint Tea. The restaurant was bustling with customers and the overall ambience was great. The service was impressive as well. It was an excellent meal and would definitely recommend dropping by!

Went to Kochi Marriott hotel for a Dinner Buffet last week.
We booked the table with the help of Mr. Vinu Chandran who provided us excellent service. The Food was great and the Ambience was awesome. They provide you with the best of desserts in and around Kochi. We were served by Mr. Shanmugha and he himself is a great mixologist. Should definitely try his juice mixes.
Will definitely refer to my friends and family members.

Marriott is always Marriott. They having an excellent chefs to give excellent foods. Very nice service. We had buffet dinner from Marriott. And they have a lot authentic Kerala cuisines. And bench of foreign dessert.
Karthik M
Among the 5 star restaurants in Kochi, Marriott has a brilliant dessert team. The kind of desserts they come up with during each fest is amazing.
Neer
Marriott big name in hospitality and they deserve it. Kochi kitchen is similar to any five star restaurant, but difference is they serve more of a local food, it can be a disappointment for vegetarians but staff was courteous enough to made things from their menu for our veg friends.
We took buffet which was very reasonable (799+ taxes) with wide variety of food including large section of sweet dishes,Tea's,juices and top of all ambiance.
If in kochi do consider this place..
Kimig P George
Awesome ambiance ... varieties of variance...there could be more in fish........but the was wash area was not at all good....there was all only two washrooms...for the whole area........expect that...food was nice... especially the varieties of chicken
George S
This is one place I've been eyeing to come to since quite a while, especially since it has one of the most talked about buffets in Kochi. Our plan to come here for dinner though was quite impromptu, as my brother found a deal online which we just couldn't turn down - 699 INR per head. Since it was a weekday we expected it to be quiet and relaxed, but Marriott being the flagship property that it is in Kochi we were in for a huge surprise. The place was packed with guests and super busy, with one half of the space being reserved for football players from the Indian Super League (even had the opportunity to meet David James, who I've followed when he used to play for Liverpool and Aston Villa).

The buffet spread was huge, with most of the items being predominantly indian. They even had a live pasta station, live chaat counter, and a live drinks stall serving tea coffee and the like, with a whole selection of juices and mocktails too. The variety of salads and mains were good, with some failing to hit the mark like the baba ganoush and mushroom risotto. I actually expected to see more international items on the menu though. The highlights from dinner service had the be the fresh chaat, the tea, roast chicken (super awesome), pasta, mutton rogan josh(?), the Asian items, and the desserts. I wasn't even able to try most of the items as there were far too many, and even if I tried I figured I'd miss out on the desserts, which would be a huge loss. The desserts have to be the piece de restistance of the buffet ending the buffet on a sweet note, even if the rest of buffet had slight shortcomings the desserts made up for everything.

Overall, we had a ball for the price we paid, but I'm not sure if I'd pay the original price tag of 1650, unless they have a good balance of Indian and International food.

At the end of the night it was a pleasure being served by Chef Ashly again, who already took care of us quite well when he was with Courtyard Marriott in Kochi earlier. A big thanks to the Chef, and also to Akshay Kumar (the superstar Asst Manager - F&B Sales) and his entire team who took care of us quite well and ensured we had a great night.

Highly recommended!!

Kochi kitchen is the best, above all places i have gone , it really provide us with five star experience..they have so many kind verity foods, especially kerala foods ,they have a good ambiance also...there is nothing to say about desserts, endless desserts are available over there,i have tried everything
No words to say for their services including room services ,they provide all facilities with their customers at itz best
I loved it
And i decided this place would be my weekend favourite
Thank you to all for providing the best
Mohammed Arshad
I would not advise you to waste your money here. Not much variety and lacks flavour. Any other place would be far more customer oriented. Not the experience you are looking for. Hardly satisfied with the food option. :/
JulianaLSeiko
Go for the buffet if you are missing home. The ambience is very nice, service is perfect and you can have almost anything you have been missing in a meal. Of course they have good Indian food (from north and south) and their amazing sweets, but that was not what I was looking for. I delighted in some good salads with fresh lettuce and vegetables, seafood salad, simple dressings, cheese, ham, focaccia, western style roast chicken, salmon and good beef. I also saw a pasta station, I think they can prepare your pasta on demand. You will just skip the dessert because the food is outstanding!

Kochi Kitchen by Marriott Hotel is an absolute 5 star experience. We tried their lunch buffet and it was simply amazing it was a multi cuisine buffet and it also had kerala style food. The dessert section was just mind blowing with over 20 options.

Food 5/5
Ambience 4/5
Service 5/5
Akash Shridharani
Pros
1. Excellent service
2. Dessert section is the best ever. My favorite
3. Ambience

Cons
Cost - 1500-1700 per person

Verdict
No foodie should miss this excellent place. If you are in Kochi and you have a large appetite and full wallet, this the place to be in.
Vani Venugopal
The lunch buffet is a real treat with a wide variety of Kerala specialties along with a multi-cuisine spread. Must try!

Also went there once for a late night bite to eat and loved the Banana Banoffi pie. Excellent service by Arun, he was welcoming and told us about their open restaurants and available desserts in detail.
BJ Nair
The grilled salmon steak with mashed potatoes was an ok do experience and the service was friendly and prompt. The price was commensurate with hotel prices.

I recommend except the salmon for an excellent dinner experience.

Ambience: 5/5

Price: 3/5

Food: 4/5

Among the top buffet restaurants I've been to, this massive restaurant can be given no less credits because of the humungous buffet spreads that they offer for their hungry customers who would readily gorge into the lavish starters, main course and dessert menus with live counters.

Talking about the taste it's at par with the top rated restaurants in the city.

However options for dinner buffet arrangements there would've been a little better to me.

The place is nice. The staff are super courteous and extremely helpful. The food is great and the buffet arrangement is amazing. There are enough selection of items for vegeterians. The "naadan" counter was awesome!!! The desserts are amazing and the presentation is awesome! Special thanks to Arun who was super helpful and patient throughout the time we were there.Great job Kochi Kitchen team!

The five star review of the famous Marriott hotel is here. We stayed there and opted for breakfast buffet and dinner buffet and room service as well. Both the buffet had elaborate spread and kerela specials as well. Since it was during Christmas 🎄 there were Christmas special bakery items amd Christmas dinner as well. The live counters, the salad counters and grill counters were the main attraction. The service was bit slow due to the Christmas crowd. The ambience and decorations were adhering to Christmas. The room service order was pasta and ceasar salad, they also sent us an anniversary cake 🎂 which was a very sweet gesture. Overall the experience was so good. We would definitely like to go back and try some options.
