Review Qissa Cafe - Kochi (Cochin)

Chef Jonny
While staying over at No.18 hotel we had our breakfast at Qissa and they didn’t disappoint. The breakfast here is really good compared to the other options around the area. The first morning I tried the Keema omelette and following morning we had the pancakes which was pretty good. The coffee is not bad as well as they ground the beans to order. I feel that the french press is a better option. The feel inside is awesome as it’s pretty chilled and has a very relaxing feel to it.

It’s one of the popular cafe spots in fort kochi. Went there mainly for banoffee pie and it was incredible. Very calm and relaxing place. Nice interior and good servicing

Qissa cafe is a popular spot in Fort Kochi with good ambience and food. I tried some of their drinks, which were really good. The cafe is well decorated and conveniently located near major attractions. A great place to relax and enjoy!

Nestled within a charming corner, Qissa Cafe emerges as a hidden gem for anyone in search of an aesthetically pleasing and heartwarming culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, the cafe's adorable ambiance embraces you, transporting you into a whimsical world of cozy charm. While the entire menu deserves praise, it's the Banoffee Pie that takes center stage, deserving accolades as the epitome of indulgence. Qissa Cafe's Banoffee Pie is more than just a dessert; it's a decadent journey that ignites the senses and leaves an indelible mark on your taste buds. With its impeccable balance of velvety toffee, fresh bananas, and a crumbly crust, every bite unveils layers of rich flavors that dance harmoniously. The combination of textures and the play between sweet and slightly salty notes create an unparalleled symphony of delight. Without a doubt, this Banoffee Pie has earned the prestigious title of being the best ever tasted, a sentiment shared by many who have had the privilege of savoring its exquisite taste. While the Banoffee Pie reigns supreme, the same level of excellence doesn't quite extend to all corners of the menu. The American Breakfast, though decent, falls into the realm of "just okay." It doesn't quite manage to match the stellar heights set by the pie. While the components of the breakfast fare hold their own, they lack the same transformative magic that elevates the Banoffee Pie into a league of its own. In essence, Qissa Cafe is a charming haven that crafts experiences that linger in your memory. The quaint and delightful setting is perfect for indulging in moments of solitude or sharing laughter with friends. The Banoffee Pie is, undoubtedly, the shining star that earns this cafe a spot in your heart and cravings. While the American Breakfast may not quite mirror the same enchantment, it doesn't overshadow the overall enchanting atmosphere and the truly exceptional Banoffee Pie. A visit to Qissa Cafe promises an escape into a world where aesthetics and flavors intertwine to create moments of pure delight.

The BEST coffee in Fort Cochin! On our quest for good coffee, we went to 6 cafes in fort Kochi before we stumbled upon Qissa. Lovely servers, lovely ambience and the best black coffee on the rocks. The chocolate cake is to die for (esp after spending a week in Kochi looking for homemade style dessert). The juices are freshly squeezed. The white sauce pasta was delicious. The sandwiches were small in portion and pleasant to the palette. More wallet-friendly than neighborhood cafes! Overall, would highly recommend spending time here to relax from a scorching sunny day.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Qissa Cafe in Kochi, and it proved to be a delightful brunch experience. The cozy and inviting ambiance, combined with the scrumptious food and excellent service, made my visit truly memorable. First and foremost, I must commend the French toast at Qissa Cafe. It was a heavenly treat that exceeded my expectations. The toast was perfectly cooked, with a golden-brown exterior that had a delightful crunch. The inside was soft and fluffy, and the addition of cinnamon added a lovely aromatic touch. Topped with a generous drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. The fruit punch at Qissa Cafe deserves a special mention as well. It was incredibly refreshing, packed with a medley of fruity flavors. Served chilled, the punch was a perfect accompaniment to the delicious French toast. It was a vibrant and invigorating blend that left me feeling revitalized. The staff at Qissa Cafe was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. They provided prompt service, ensuring that I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The cafe's cozy atmosphere and rustic decor added to the overall charm, creating a pleasant environment to enjoy a leisurely brunch. In terms of location, Qissa Cafe is conveniently situated in Kochi, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Whether you're seeking a satisfying breakfast or a quick bite, this cafe is worth a visit. Overall, I highly recommend Qissa Cafe for anyone looking to indulge in a delectable brunch. The French toast and fruit punch were truly exceptional, and the warm and inviting ambiance only enhanced the dining experience. Qissa Cafe is definitely a hidden gem in Kochi, and I cannot wait to return for more delightful culinary adventures. Rating: Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Location: 5/5

Loved this cute little cafe and the food is simply spectacular! The pastas were fantastic and so was the salad. Everything is so fresh!! The green space outside the cafe just adds to the charm. Staff is lovely and so cooperative. Definitely a must try! 🤌🏼

We really enjoyed the coffee at this place. But only issue with service was miscommunication with waiter regarding 'Cakd of the day' we had requested. They keptvus waited for long for melted chocolate to be added. So, we had to cancel order & move out.

Located within No 18 Hotel, KB Jacob Road, opposite Fort Kochi Police Station. Parking is possible along the roadside and in front of the hotel. Seating area is very neatly done, made from mostly recycled materials, with a great ambience. A few tables are placed outside as well, with a great natural setting. Staff members were friendly and polite. Ordered the following - Pasta - Ordered a chicken creamy mushroom white sauce penne and arrabiatta chicken penne pasta. Quantity was decent and taste was very good and rich, with a good amount of chicken as well. Mint Lime - A decent drink with good quantity. Lemon iced tea - The lemon and sugar syrup was served separately, which I found to be a bit weird. However, once I mixed it all, the drink was very good. Chocolate cake - One of their must try dishes. A homemade style cake, topped with a luscious chocolate sauce. It was rich and very tasty, the star of the meal. Overall, this cafe is highly recommended on a visit to Fort Kochi, with a great ambience and good food. Total price for everything above - 1061 rupees.

Nice place! Good vibe! Good food at a decent price. They have an interesting menu with a lot of options. I wanted to try pineapple cheese sandwich (never had that before). Interesting combination, one can try. The Banoffee pie tasted awesome! Must try :)

We have eaten here four times on our three days stay in Fort Kochi because the food is superb. Highly recommend the mushroom, spinach and cheese omelette, absolutely delicious and the bread served with it, is excellent. We have been eating lots of curries and this cafe is a little respite. We have also had an evening meal which was wonderful too Service excellent. Juices beautiful.

Beautiful café centrally located in fort kochi. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

My favorite cafe in Fort Kochi. Fab outdoor seating and a chill indoor sitting comprises this cafe. The food was great. Tried 3 different sandwiches and everything was really good. The Greek salad was filling. The shakes were nice too. Must try here is the Chocolate cake. The sauce was absolutely delicious. The thing that can be improved is the service. They didn't offer water or napkins until we asked for them explicitly. However since it was raining, we asked them for umbrella to go and get our car from hotel and they provided one instantaneously which was nice of them. The price was as expected from a cafe. Would visit them again when in Fort Kochi.

It was infact a really humid sunday evening that we planned a walk around Fort Kochi and ended up in Qissa Café for the beauty, serenity and ofcourse it's chocolate cake it offers.

Just like any other mainstream restaurant/cafe in the area, they too have a real variety of breakfasts / pastas tailored for the various ethnicities that cross Kochi on a daily basis.

The seatings are outside the cafe which is a smoker's area essentially and on the inside awaits a beauty array of succulents and hand picked antiques & decorations from Ikea Dubai.

Since it was around the mid afternoon time and we were curious & hunting for the special -- The Chocolate Cake.

It's available throughout the day and is a must try. I ordered a masala chai as well to go with this 😅 and my friend an Americano from the coffee options.

The chocolate 🍰 as I have already mentioned is a complete 5 on 5 and Masala tea and Americano would be 3.5/5 in my view.

A place of real improvement in my view would be the customer servicing. After having a lunch at Arippa in Palarivattam and then visiting Qissa later in the noon as a lot of friends have spoken very high of its chocolate cake, I felt the slackness in servicing as an area they can work on.

That said, I plan to visit this beautiful place once again to try out their other famous delicacies soon :")

The ambience is a real beaut & an undoubtedly awesome pick for a date :')

Very nice cafe with tasty food and friendly staff! I had an oatmeal, cold coffee and avocado sandwich! All were super tasty! Prices are very affordable and interior is very stylish.

This is the most overhyped place you can find in fort kochi. Horrible service, terrible food and noisy like a fish market ! Me and my sister went to the cafe yesterday as it was rated highly. There was no waiter, we were confused if we are supposed to go to the counter to place our order. After a while a guy came , who unwillingly took our order after that every time i needed something i had to go the counter and tell them. The food came which was terrible , we order a pasta and sanwich. Pasta was so sour and sandwich was bland tasteless. If that was not enough, a group of women came inside and then the staff enagaged in such noisy conversation with them that it felt like fish market !
All in all .. very bad service and bad food. Don’t ever go there will be my recommendation, rather have street food if you want noisy atmosphere. Worthless ! Waste of money !

I ordered an AVACADO TOAST with POACHED EGGS - it was fantastic! The COLD COFFEE with COCONUT MILK and HONEY was really good as well - it was difficult to dissolve the honey (ask for sugar instead) and the drink was a bit watery - could be improved. Nice, chic ambience with a lovely outdoor seating area. The service could definitely be better.

Great place to hangout .. beautiful out side area
Surbhi Goel
Yummiest bannofie pie and lazzania we had at this place . That too at such reasonable prices that we forgot that we felt that bakery is an expensive thing here . Must visit. young chefs prepare the same and ambience is nice .

Chic Ambience with a simple delish menu. Place is quite known for their Banoffee Pie which is a must try. Parking is mostly road side which is aplenty. Attentive staff and ask for any modification to the order.
Priyadarsini TP
I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, which, quite frankly, was overpriced, but otherwise fine in quality.
Also had a sandwich which was decent. The ambience is nice, although the waiters could appear a lil more interested in their job :P
. The other options in the menu seemed good, will try them out the next time I'm there!

Great ambience and delicious food. One of the best Banoffie pie in Kochi .

Qissa is by far my least favourite cafe in all of fort Kochi. Not because of the ambience (ambience and setting are nice), but because of the uninspiring food. We ordered a lasagna; which was served to us in the most amateur way and didn't taste great at all. But what shocked me the most is for 400 bucks, the lasagna was not accompanied with garlic bread (which is served with omelettes we heard but not with lasagnas!); that really disappointed me. Next was the sausage sandwich; my 3 year old nephew can make a better sandwich than the one given (see pic). I mean like seriously, there was no effort put into making the sandwich; absolutely unexpected. Moving on, we were told the cake of the day was a lemon cheesecake. The cake brought to us was not a lemon cheesecake, it was just a lemon cake; they don't even know what a cheesecake is! Even the lime soda was below average. Puft. Considering the price on the bill, this was not worth it at all. If you're someone who craves good food, this isn't the place for you. I left famished; and that's a sad thing.

Beautiful Cafe, Simple Menu. Specials Everyday. Had Beef Cheese Burger, Mint lime, Fresh Lemonade, Banana Benoffi Pie. Beef Cheese burger is a must try

The service at this so called cafe is absolutely " piss poor pathetic ". the pasta I ordered was just bland and the chicken was stale. The staff was least interested in serving the customers and I had to literally shout out for another fork. There was a time when the entire staff was just chilling in the kitchen and having their own time. Just not acceptable!
Laura
Incredible beef kheema omelette and watermelon salad. Wonderful staff and ambiance. Lemonade and masala chai are also delicious. Love love love this place! Also a great place to chill, read a book etc as the a/c is awesome!

Qissa Cafe in Fort Kochi is one of the top 5 cafes in Kochi

Located in the 18 Hotel, the interiors are warm and welcoming.

The menu is simple yet top notch.

Their Lasagne is excellent and a personal favorite.

They have a varied selection of teas and coffees and are made really well. Their desserts are scrumptious and the Toffee and Banana pie is outstanding.

Service is a bit laid back, but so is everything else in Fort Kochi.

Qissa has a great view of the street and is wonderful to sit and watch the world go by or to just watch the rain.

They have a small outside garden seating area as well if the mosquitoes don’t bother you.

Two thumbs up.

We loved the ginger tea and the cocolate cake. Garden can be heaven but nobody is interested i guess because it was all dirty and flowers were dead

I went in this place looking at the interiors of this place. It's so green and beautiful.
The music played in was also very soothing.
I ordered a press coffee and it was nice.
All in all its a good place to chill

Amazing food with a great ambience
Banoffee pastry was the best part.
The staff was friendly too . They helped us get orders which weren’t mentioned in the menu also which was nice of them.
Amazing place to hangout with your buddies . if you are really fortunate you will get seats to sit n outdooooor portion.... Its so calm and quite with all the greeeenery surrounding us. The ambience you wont get it anywhere else n Fortkochi. Eventhough dishes are expensive,,,, the ambience compensates!! Worth a visit!

Awesome place, sooo green, the food was too yummy and fulfilling. Best - avacado and egg toast! Beautiful sitting outside with a cosy feeling. We spent three hours at this cafe!! One our eating and two hours clicking photos.. against the beautiful backdrop of greenery. Must visit place in Fort Kochi!!

A not very famous yet the best cafe in Fort Kochi. I loved the way how the food here felt soo fresh and made just for you. I’ll make sure to eat their Beef Cheese Burger and Juices every time I visit Fort Kochi.
Steve Bayer
I am giving them a 3 because their chocolate cake gave me a huge pimple on my chin!!!

Original review:

They have a nice and light leaf tea but I had to wait over 20 minutes for my tea.

Still a 4/5 dining experience but the seating and tables could be better.

We came here to try out their breakfast - which was good! I loved the crisp garlicky toast, with fresh fruits, eggs, mushrooms n sausages. The beans n pancakes weren't my fav :P

We tried their meat penne pasta too which was good. And a couple of drinks and cold coffee. To finish it off, another one of their specials.. banoffee pie which was melt in the mouth! Crumbly n sweet.. best end to a yummy breakfast.

Update: Tried their AVOCADO TOAST with poached eggs and this is a must try! Just beautiful.

Their pineapple juice is so thick, one glass is refreshing. Tried their french toast and their bbq chicken sandwich which was pretty good.

I went here on a Monday the place wasn’t crowded at all yet it took a long time for somebody to come take my order and then another decade to get my order.Horrible service may hire more staff

A really nice and cosy cafe in Fort Kochi. It also has a very cute and pretty outdoor setting. The staff is very polite and kind. I personally think that since there was a language barrier and also considering the fact that I am curious and always asking questions, I don't expect much from the staff but yea. :p

Since I had come to Kochi for a conference I didn't have time to have breakfast here, for which it is famous and I had to come here for dinner. Also because this place was in my must-go-to list. I ordered one latte and mushroom cheese omelette. Latte was really nice and satisfying but the mushroom cheese omelette was some beyond-my-capacity-to-express-how-delicious-it-was level. I am a huge mushroom fan and the mushroom was properly cooked and the cheese was dripping and the entire combination with the bread ofcourse was so good. I was full. I wanted to get more parceled as well. Later I also had there Chocolate cake which comes with a chocolate dip. Please do try it, it was soft and yum-za.

I think it is a must breakfast place, hence, must go. I also think it's a must anytime go place. :)
Manu
Absolutely loved this cafe.Ambience is perfect if you just wanna spend time with yourself or if you wanna have a conversation with someone.I had avocados and poached eggs.It was brilliant. The mango milkshake was so thick and such a large glass. So good.
Anusha Wani
omg!!the cutest cafe around.i think the chocolate cake is a must have.My friend too us to this place and honestly it was the best cake i have had.The drinks are also quiet good. And the watermelon feta salad is also great (if you have the taste for it)
Varun Raj
Beautiful place inside and out. We ordered French Toast, Vanilla Pancake, Mushroom cheese omelette, watermelon juice and cold coffee. The food was delicious and fresh.
Food- 4/5
Ambience-5/5
Service-4/5

Very bad experience. BBQ chicken sandwich was worst which I had ever in my life. I can't see any chicken inside the sandwich which was charged for ₹200. I have ordered sandwich and cheese omlet, waiter told me bill amount ₹400. He didn't give me the bill also.

So I've been to this cafe twice over the past one year and it's been a let down on both occasions.
One the first occasion which was maybe 7 months ago or so I tried their omelette (I think it was their farmers omelette); which was a disappointment. The eggs were overcooked and the stuffing was bland, however it looked aesthetically pleasing on the plate though.
I went in a second time today just out of whim and to give it a second chance considering the high reviews this place gets. I was to be disappointed again. I tried their chocolate cake which was ok, nothing great about it, just the run of the mill cake with a sugary syrup on top, just too sugary without any other flavour whatsoever! Just because I fancied I ordered their French toast, this was a mistake! The French toast was basically bread dipped in an egg batter and crisp toasted with a stingy serving of honey! The toast was crumbly on the outside and dry on the inside and tasted like a sweeter version of the Indian bread omelette!I guess the glitzy decor is there to make up for their average food!

Note to management: On my first visit I had made a comment about the abysmal food and the cashier just nodded and took my money without any response. So this second time I didn't bother to talk to the cashier about it. And yes, I finished my food because I'm not really into wasting food if I have a choice.

This is a beautiful cafe. We went there for breakfast/brunch. The bill was 1100₹ between two people, which included a cappuccino, a kombucha iced tea, and avocado tomato cheese sandwich, a beef steak and a chocolate cake. The food was delicious and the service was good, too. They have an open verandah section and an air conditioned section. What adds to the charm of the place is the glass panels which let us view the street outside and that makes it all the more beautiful.
Fork Tales
Qissa is beautiful! I wanted to get in and try the place as it looked very appealing from the outside. So I decided to give it a shot.

As I got in, I was amazed by the decors done in the small place; exemplary! Bright and colourful interiors with lot of greens which gives a refreshing ambience to the place. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating.
It was empty as we went past 10 in the night.

We ordered for a vanilla pancake, a beef and a chicken burger. The food was delicious, nicely prepared and presented; Thumbs up for that.

But I have to say, staffs were very inattentive. We had to call them a few times for them to take the order. Even after the food was placed on the table after a wait, they did not care to give some water which we had to ask. I hope they will improve on their service.

All in all, it’s a wonderful place to dine and I had a good time. I’d recommend.

I had visted this place once at night when I was with a friend. The ambience is very peaceful and vibrant. All the pretty little things and how very thing is kept just draws you in.

Recently I went in at lunch time and ordered one of their pastas with white sauce. It tasted really good but felt that the quantity was so less for the price.

Had a nice time though.

Hunting for a place to get a dose of our evening chai shai fiasco that was less crowded and indoors turned fruitful when we came across Qissa Cafe by the roadside- located within a Hotel.

First look and impressive. The place is very welcoming. A lot of tourists and Keralites alike, lost in conversations and especially with the Biennale happening around.

We ordered a Cappucino, Masala Chai and Hot Chocolate. The best of the three was the Chai and our parents to say the least, were very happy. The Cappucino- was very strong and not to my liking. The hot chocolate on the other was way too sweet to devour the taste.

We also ordered their freshly baked Chocolate Cake that is drizzled with milk chocolate. This cake is amaze. Super soft, made warm - extremely decadent.

Overall, a nice cosy place to hangout.

Went to this place in Fort Kochi with very hungry belly. Had to wait for 1 hour for our steaks. Both white wine sauce and red wine sauce looked and tasted same. Meat was well cooked - that saved the day.

Great place. Had breakfast there during our stay at Fort Kochi. Also visited for a late lunch once.

Very good food, everything is freshly prepared so a bit slow.

Friendly staff and great service overall.

Nice ambience with indoor and outdoor seating areas

Ambience was good & staff were polite. Went there for dinner. Cheese & mushroom omelette tasted amazing. Tomato & spinach Pasta was ordinary. Banoffee pie was not available, so ordered chocolate cake. It tasted good.
Sandra
I have been here a few times and the food is quite good but for me the best of the best is the " banana banoffee pie "( if i'm not wrong) for dessert. It is not the first time I go there just for this. Believe me...is sooo good. ❤❤

My favourite cafe in Fort Kochi!. They have both beautiful interior and exterior spaces. And serves amazing food. Do try their masala tea. or their Hot Ginger Honey! Such a good hot beverage. And they serve it in pot. Easily fills 3 cups. One dish which i recommend to all who goes to fort kochi side is BANOFFEE PIE of QISSA! And everysingle person who tired this have came back to say thanks. Such a good dessert this is.

also try their steaks.

Qiiiiisa! the place where eu find peace. yes, like one of my friends says this is actually a peace finder.
the atmosphere and the vibe eu get there is.... i gotta talk a lot about the place, the interiors, the cafe as a thing. wow! and about the food, they have a different VibeFlavour for every thing in the menu. let me not type anything more about the cafe or about the food. do one thing. go there buy something and enjoy the vibe there ,come back read my review again and let me know!!

its a double thumbs up👍🏻👍🏻
#HalaPeace

A small cafe attached to a hotel.Ambience was welcoming fillled with good vibes, small surprises here and there. Some of the seats has got these addles and typewriters in one corners, bottles tangled in lights lanterns in light and my favourite is the seating at the main lounge.
Now coming to the food,
I had ordered chicken steak with red wine as it was this ‘commonly preferred’,’everybody’s fav’ and all that(I had high expectations on this).. But I definitely didn’t find anything great in it..The sauce was dead like it didn’t have any flavour to offer..
Then comes to the simple yet lovely dish which nobody can go wrong with chicken cheese omelette even that also they kind of messed it up.Like the omelette was uneven(chicken somewhere cheese somewhere)?
THE BANOFFEE PIEE this one is the only reason why I’m at least giving 3.. ITS YUM.Im not a fan of bananas but this one was soft pie layer with some crumbs and served with ICECREAM.but one more thing with his pie is that it is already served with ICECREAM and the filling is also cold so if the filling was hot or something was hot it would have been better?just a suggestion I loved it anyway.
I kinda felt that this place is very lively ! Their interior is so peacefully done ,that I sat in this place for a very long time ! Loved the sandwich and the cold coffee !Their cold coffee isn't like the normal cold coffee that we get here in Kochi ! I personally loved the cold coffee a lot . They served the signature chocolate cake covered with ganache ! Cake was so good but ganache had a very bad intense taste of milkmaid ! This cafe is easy on pocket too! Staffs were very courteous ! I will definitely visit this place again the next time I come to fort Kochi !

Good food. Panckes light and tasty. Avocado cheese omlete with garlic toasted bread really good. English breakfast nice. Ambience is good as well. Clean and well maintained place.

Was here on a Saturday night with a friend for having something sweet. Ordered a chocolate cake and an Oreo shake . We were seated outside. Outdoor seating was so good , with plants and all surrounding you. The chocolate cake was good and the shake was just average. The service was just pathetic ,this waiter guy did not give us a bill and just shouted out the bill amount from a distance. When I asked specifically for a bill ,he said " you'll have to pay even more as taxes will be added " ,he was speaking as if we were paying for the food with the last penny in our pockets. We were in no mood for an argument and hence just paid the amount and left. Never had such an experience from any other cafe in Kochi.

Nice place good ambience. Some dishes were really nice. The mushroom cheese omelette was really nice so was the chicken breast in wine mushroom sauce. The veg lasagne however was pathetic. It is a good wnough restaurant to visit once while you are in Fort Kochi.

Qissa makes you love their chocolate cake, so soft and their omlets are also too good. Their iced green tea and pineapple ginger lemon honey are awesome refreshers .

Always a YES for this place! ❤️

There is no doubt for why I have become a big foodie. Its all bcoz when you have these kinda awesome cafes around and can't stop yourself to try out. I would like to give a brief about each item that I tried in a priority wise. (All were the signature ones)
1. Banoffee Pie: A must try dessert which will melt you completely. It just took me to heaven.😇
2. Grilled chicken melt sandwich: Now this is something called as the best sandwich. The filling, bread and chips, everything was fresh and rich in taste.😋
3. Cappuccino: This was OK and refreshing.
4. Pepper Chicken Salad: It was nice, but was not that great. It can be improved if I say.

The ambience is interestingly beautiful and service was also really good. 👌
#foodexplorer #loveexploring #loveforfood #foodie #foodpics #foodphotography #foodgasm #foodporn #ambience😍

This is another cute cafe in Fort Kochi. The outer seatings are adorable and well arranged with ornamentals. The decorations continue inside too, leaving me good things to say about the ambience. I came here for breakfast and as a pancake lover, I was satisfied with their vanilla ones. Not the best I’ve had but their banoffee pie made up for it. Yum!

Good vibes!! One of the best places to hangout in Fort Kochi. Highly recommended. The price are reasonable, been here quite a few times. People who visit Fort Kochi should try this place out.

The decor and ambiance are undoubtedly good but still not good enough to compensate for the food. Ordered a French toast, which would make the French cry in shame, oily enough for America to invade. Had an omelette as well which was much better in comparison. So all in all even if you do come here, please give the French toast a pass. If it was made in France, it would definitely start a second French revolution.

ORDER: Grilled Chicken Melt Sandwich and Chicken Penne Pasta in White sauce.
The food was good. The sandwich was like any other chicken and mayonnaise brown bread sandwich with melt cheese in it. The pasta was okish good.
SPACE: It's a quirky antique space with good interiors. Makes an ideal cafe to catch up with friends and have long conversations.

This cafe has been arranged really nicely. The interiors are very well decorarted with some cool antique stuffs. The menu also is pretty much promising. I tried the french toast however it could have been a bit more better. My friend tried some chiclen sandwich and that was pretty much nice. The service is also pretty much nice.

Chicken Sandwich
( The best Sandwich in fort kochi.... made of wheat bread chopped chicken, spring onion, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce and celery and is toasted nicely in Sandwich toaster for that crispness in each bite we have. Good ambiance and innovative ideas ....)
.
.
Cafe: Qissa Cafe
Price: 160/-
Personal Rating: 4.7/5
Loving a place has many reasons either of its ambiance maybe because of the food or sometimes it maybe because of the service . .

For me this place is special because of its ambiance good food and decent service. .

When it's too hot outside and you wanna get refreshed having a drink from this place makes you super charged I'm a big fan of their lemon mint honey and pineapple lemon with honey. How can you leave this place without having their Banoffe pie and redwine steak . .

#Rahulsfoodscenes

I went to this cafe just for the sake of trying out since I heard about it. I went alone to try things out. I was really disappointed that even after waiting at the table for 10 minutes, no waiter attended to me and I had to myself go to the table and order (and I was the third person in the café), didn't even pay attention. I wanted to try their cake of the day and a cold coffee (since the menu is restricted to small eats and quick bites). The owner told that the cake came with chocolate sauce but it didn't went it came. I wouldn't comment about the coffee since it might be appealing to some to have less milk but I personally didn't like it. The place is well decorated. However, I would not recommend this café unless of course like me, you want to try it out for the sake of it.

this is a good cafe.. i love the interiors they provide wonderful dining.. nd they have the chocolate cake.. that has excess chocolate just like the one in kashi i seriously fell in love with it.. then we had a fruit punch which was also not bad💪💞

Walk into Qissa and you find sewing machine tables and old soda bottle flower pots and such other stuff which makes this a charming cafe. You could always ask for the pie of the day or cakes on offer. The carrot cake and mango shake especially are great while still retaining a homemade feel to it. Cute little place where I’d definitely visit again.

Came to the famed qissa cafe and had the chocolate cake. I didnt have the syrupy part ,but the cake was lovely ,moist and not too sweet. The place was very aesthetic and consisted of old fashioned sewing machines modified into tables which was pretty cool

Great food.
Beautiful ambience with an amazing outdoor seating with smoking facility.
Located in one of the primary locations and tourist attractions in the city of Kochi

We went there during Ramadan to break our fasts cuz we couldn't find anything else nearby and ordered sandwiches. The staff was very friendly to us and brought us fruits and lemon juice ON THE HOUSE when they realized we were ordering for ifthar (breaking fast). The sandwiches and the juice tasted extraordinary and was emotionally satisfying as well.

I went on a solo food trip to try out this cafe. The chocolate cake, which is always available here, was what I tried. If you're someone with a sweet tooth, this is a place you should try out. The chocolate cake is big enough for the price, but the syrup is a little too sweet I felt ( tasted a lot like boiled condensed milk). But try this place, it's cozy, comfortable and definitely the chocolate cake kind of place.

Catchup for a morning breakfast with your friends..this is the right place around...located in fortkochi..Loved the ambience quite simple and well placed..the staffs were really helpful..value for money is very reasonable .Loved the chocolate cake and the Pancake with Nutella 😁

This cafe is extremely cute and cosy located in Fort Kochi. I felt like the menu was a replica of Kashi’s Art Cafe in Fort Kochi. Anyway I ordered the vanilla pancakes and the food arrived after 15 minutes. I felt like it was too sweet for my taste and the bananas felt extremely ripe. The price was a bit too expensive for the dish. Atleast that’s what I felt. Anyway I’ll go back to try some more dishes and hopefully I’ll have a better experience then.

A nice simple place at Fort Kochi. We went there late evening, not crowded
I forgot the name of what I ordered. Basically a chicken pasta. Very rarely does a regular pasta contain red and green capsicum. Since i like it, i didnt mind, They also offered bread along with it which was nice and soft. But the pasta was very dry and not at all creamy despite how the pic looks.
I do love their portions which are huge.

Overall
Staff - Average ( they were missing half of the time)
Food - Average
Ambiance - Good

Each meal is crafted with care. The servers are friendly. A calming and cheerful ambience.
Meal preparation takes time but is worth the wait.

Had masala tea with peanut butter toast and my friend has lime tea with honey ..... I loved my part of the food, not a honey person though. And cheap for the pocket. Very beautiful ambiance and all those tiny little antique pieces adds to the beauty.

This place has one of the best ambiance, amazing food and affordable billing. They have indoor and outdoor sitting facility too. They serve few more items appart from the menu which they write inside a wall. Do check out that before you oder.

The food wasnt that great. Even the choices in the menu were limited. But the staff were very friendly. The ambience is good. The interior is very colorful and bright.

The desserts do stand apart. Their sandwiches need special mention. Fresh produce I'd being used. The interiors and seating, especially their outside seating is done pretty well. The chocolate cake was a replica of the Kashi cake but didn't quite hit the spot. But the place first have quite a few things to try out and the ambience is just beautiful. Their banoffee pie is worth a try.
Courseykm
Had their coconut milk iced latte with honey to sweeten and it was divine! Came back the next day for a breakfast of deliciously fresh avocado toast. Also tried the banana cake, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Ambiance is great, staff is friendly. I wanted to come here for every meal!

So here i am to try out the famed cafe for its banoffee pie....and unfortunately, i was disappointed, ok but in all fairness, this was for the first time i was having a banoffee pie and so dont know what its supposed to taste like. There were several positives to the desert, but i think got one of the portions that was refrigerated for some long time cos, i could taste/bite into crystallised/iced water as well. However, what started as a disappointment, soon turned better because my friend had ordered the banana cake, which was actually yummmmm and in the end both of us were fighting for the crumbs of it. Havent had anything else from Qisaa, but will definitely go back, because i think they deserve a 2nd chance with the mains and also to enjoy that well decked up place, fully.

Qissa is one of the best cafés in Fort Kochi. And in my openion they serve the best choclate cakes. Its simply so sof and tasty. The ambience is cool! Service is also good! The starters and drinks are also tasty!

A small beautiful indoor cafe situated right in middle of main happening area of Fort Kochi. We 3 went there on a weekend evening, the place was not much occupied and we easily for our seats. We had asked for some of their specials and ordered few shakes, sandwich and salad. I also ordered a ginger tea to fulfill my evening quench. The place was nice, small and peaceful. We loved the sandwich, tea and salad was amazing.
Staff was little tricky cz they took our ordered 3-4 times as most of the things were not available from the menu card.
Overall a nice place to relax and eat nice food.

Except for a decent ambience, did not find anything great about the food that we had from Qissa. On a rainy evening, we thought of trying Qissa for some thick milk shakes and cake. The only cake available on the menu was Chocolate cake. Did try it, the sponge cake was ok. But the chocolate sauce was too sugary and it was just choco powder mixed in Milkmaid. First turn off. Then, had ordered Mango smoothie. Inspite of being the mango season, they churned up unripe mango with milk. The end product being curdled smoothie with tangy tasting mango. My overall impression hence is a big NO. According to me, these are items that one can never go wrong. Yet to try the savoury items. So this may not be a complete review.

Went for lunch. Audience is not bad. We ordered 3 chicken sandwiches and found out that it is very over priced. I would never recommend this place for anyone.

Just another overpriced coffee shop in FC. Prompt and efficient service and amazing ambiance, but neither of these are eatable and the food is just about average. Not even the famous Kashi-wala chocolate cake is a saving grace.
Aparna Bose
The ambience is very good. The service is okay. The food was excellent. Had ordered chicken sandwich, chocolate cake and pineapple juice. Everything tasted good. The chocolate cake was really similar to the one in Kashi. Overall, its a good place to hang out.

Qissa Cafe nothing much to say about this, a must visit place if you are in Fort Kochi. If once visited you will surely fall in love this cafe and people visiting here. They serve usual food from salads to sandwiches and from black tea to milkshakes. Its a place well know for its ambiance and the way the place is arranged, it's classy. Food is good but bit costly. Still it's at Fort Kochi that too at the center of the one of the best tourist destinations in kerala so it will be bit pricey. As Qissa means a story and this cafe has too may stories to say every time you visit this place.
Hoping to see you soon...
Thank you.

I Found a live worm in the food!! Unexpected and ridiculous!! Brought it to the notice of the manager. The manager was shocked upon looking at the worm, but I really do not think that there is going to be any change bought about the this restaurant anytime soon.

Everything was going smoothly and the Sandwhich soup lemonade was all good till when the watermelon feta salad came ! The moment my son ate a bite of it he said there is something not good and then to our horrid surprise there was a worm crawling out from the lettuce in the salad. It was a kill joy and we all group of 5 people felt like puking. In all very bad experience ! Imagine worm in the food

We always thought about visiting this place, seeing it's positive reviews and finally we made it ! The café is just awesome it has a cool interior, the retro feel and also the sewing machine table ( without the machine ) ..
We had chocolate cake , banoffe pie and a cold coffee . Chocolate cake was out of this world ! Banoffe pie was also good except the crust of the pie, I felt it was a tad bit soggy . The service was good but it took almst about 20-25 mins to serve all of em.
The ambience of the cafe is the highlight, so if you are in fortcochi then this place should be in your list.
Varun Barla
The place is really on the main road and looks great from the outside with its murals and the whole chilled out vibe going on. The place is pretty relaxing and laid out. We had been there just for coffee and tea. We had the ginger lemon soda, lemon soda, and tea. We picked some books to read and had a really nice time.

*6/06/2017* the beef burger with side of fries is exquisite!!

The service is prompt and fast. The menu is good. The tastes reflect something of a standard that is now set in cafés in Fort Kochi that started with Kashi art café. What sets this place apart is the ambience and the decor around the place that gets you in a relaxing mood wanting to spend as much time as possible. For those who crave nicotine, there is a smoking area.

Moving on to the food. The chocolate shake is the best in the fort Cochin area. The chocolate cake is standard and the carrot cake is good, nothing specific to be excited about. A tip about cafés in fort kochi, choose to visit based on the ambience, the food is most likely standard across the choices.

Avocado!! If you love avocado, then Qissa has a couple of dishes to satisfy your craving. The poached eggs and toast combo was very tasty. The spiced coffee was different and good but will stick with a regular brew next time. Great decor with lots of seating options inside and out. Big bonus is A/C. Especially nice for early breakfast to beat the crowds.
