Review The Asian Kitchen By Tokyo Bay - Kochi (Cochin)

Food was just amazing. Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake was the best of all. Fried sweet corn and fried mushrooms were also fantastic. Staff was the best thing in the hotel. They gave some great suggestions while giving the order. Ambience was just fantastic and was great.

A wonderful restaurant serving delectable Asian cuisine. Asian Kitchen ticks all the right boxes - the ambience, the service, menu and the food! The staff is very professional and knows how to pamper the customers. The dining area is spacious and well laid out, not to mention how clean and tidy it is kept. The wash area and the lavatory is spotless, with special mention for for the latter for the way it has been set. The menu is vast, with a huge spread of signature Asian dishes. The prices are a bit toward the high end. However, the experience is worth it. I would suggest Ebi Tempura and Dim-sum. The Tempura is perfectly crispy and cracks in the mouth. The Dim-sum just dances with the spicy flavours. The rice and noodles were delicious, perfectly complimenting the other dishes. The Sushi, however, is an experience I don’t want to be reminded of. Phew. Recommended.

Awesome space to dine. Being located inside the club campus with no noise of traffic and crowd from the road, the ambience is too good. Food is great and with a team of courteous staff around, anyone can enjoy the time spent.

Went in with a few of my friends for a lunch on a public holiday and the place was almost filled. Zomato doesn't allow you to book tables here, but it is risky to turn up without a reservation- we were lucky after a quick chat with the steward. I knew local Japanese cuisine well and my friends accepted the challenge to try out a few, so it was The Asian Kitchen by Tokyo Bay where we headed to! We were in the mood for some adventure, so ordered a Miso soup and a Tom Yum (non-adventurous option) to start with and the different varieties of Nigiri Sushi- Tuna, Salmon, Tofu and Egg. The Miso soup (astonishingly, vegetarian base!) was very similar in taste to the Japanese one- so the faint-hearted who can't take the sea-weedy/soy-saucy/fishy taste, stay away from it- I liked it for its authenticity. The sushi's were an entertainment with the chop-stick lessons; the wasabi paste was chalky and not fresh, however it is a must try if Japan is on your mind. The meat was fresh and kudos to having provided such well made Nigiri Sushis. On the starters front, veggie tempura was a very safe option and it was well prepared and eaten sumptuously by those who were a tired after the Miso soup :) The chicken-momos were juicy and rightly spicy too (Chinese though I suppose)! Two very well received dishes. For the main-course, ordered each of the Chahan veg rice (said as Japanese), and wok tossed flat rice noodles, along with stir fried veggies and a chicken dish. The flavours in the noddles were a bit over-powering, but apart from that, it all went well. It would've been more convenient if the main course was a paired combo of rice/noodle with a sauce/curry. Amidst all this food, we ordered 4 mocktails- the bottom four it was a decent mix. Overall, the place can be recommended if one is in the mood for an adventure and has a deep pocket- 3.3k/4p with Zomato Gold. The ambiance is pleasant and warm, situated inside the Cochin Club- a perfect place for a post lunch stroll. The washroom is inspirational, don't miss it ;) There are some conspicuous spelling mistakes floating around, anybody who finds it reply to my review and your next Nigiri🍣 is on me😉

Great Asian Food. Interesting menu but can be improved. I would have liked to have more options especially with chicken and also veg. The ambiance is great. Very quiet and calm. Cochin club with its stately buildings is an amazing back drop. Sitting on the bench - right out side the restaurant - after a great dinner and watching the moon was a very calming unique experience. Service is good but again can be improved. Highly recommend the restaurant.

This place is pretty darn good and has potential to be better! It’s a bit overpriced, especially the tofu dishes. I wish they had more vegetarian options, like veg sushi. We had the vegetable tempura which was amazing and the mint spring rolls, which were just okay. My partner had the Udon noodles, which they kindly made without onions (this place is allergy friendly for sure). He loved them. I had the vegetable wok flat noodles which were just okay. This place also has live music!

Searched for sushi in kochi in google and end up here. Asked some of the natives about the place but no one knew this kitchen. Nice place to have authentic Japanese cuisine. Ordered sushi and was really nice. It was my first sushi try, but went really well. I really loved their service.

Must visit place in Fort Kochi if you are a foodie. Food is so good. Staff is also very nice. You can try sushi and sashimi from here which is very rare to find in Kerala. For 2 people it will cost approximately RS 1500. Please note that the bathroom has an open roof which might not be convenient for all especially ladies. Also bill has 10% service charge apart from GST. So giving tip is up to you. And this service charge is not mandatory. You can ask them to cancel service charge if you don't want to pay. Ratings Food 5/5 Quantity 4/5 Staff 4/5 Ambience 3/5

We were on our trip to explore kochi ,so we checked zomato gold restaurants in that area, and we found this beautiful restaurant food was amazing ,we tried some sushi and some dim sum it was an overall great experience with amazing view

I did not expect to find a Japanese restaurant in Kochi. Since this was just next to my place of stay and the only place open we did visit it. Menu is not typical Indian Chinese. we were wary of having Sashimi so stuck to standmard menu. Pork + Rice was very decent. Batter fried squid was fine. (Difficult to go wrong with this)

Service is excellent. Prahlad has an exceptional flair for hospitality and service.

Decor is okay

prices are not cheap.

Definitely worth going

This highly rated place really disappointed me with their shrimp hakka noodles. It was bland and I had to ask for soy to season it, along with chilli vinegar and pepper to make it edible.
Didn't like the drinks either. The grilled fish in banana leaf was the saviour although the fish was a bit tough and didn't seem to be fresh.
Not a great experience.

Excellent customer service...the staff(Mr Prahlad Singh)who attended us was really helpful in choosing the menu ..food was delicious especially the squid fry...

This restaurant has quickly turned into my go to place either on my own or with friends.
I've been to this place at least a dozen times in the past 2 months and I've never been disappointed with the food or the service!
I've tried their pork ribs, Tom yum soup, Thai green curry & Matcha ice cream multiple times and have loved it every single time. Their squid rings and coconut jaggery ice Cream are a must try too!
The service is prompt and efficient, the place is always clean and well organized. They have great value for the Zomato gold offers too. The portions are good too. You won't be disappointed at all!

I ordered chicken Friedrice and veg chowmin
But i got veg Friedrice and chicken chowmin. Food test is ok but little bit disappointed with this.

We went to this restaurant cause of its high rating and indeed it was an amazing experience! Food was very tasty and staff members are very courteous. We had dim sum, soba noodles, spring rolls, matcha and coconut ice-cream. Everything was delicious! Only spring rolls were too spicy for me.

Very tasty food and friendly and helpful staff ...very affordable on Zomato gold

We asked for the food to be delivered to a place that is not more than 2 minutes away from the restaurant, and after one and a half hours the food had still not arrived. When asked, the restaurant gave the excuse that one of the dishes takes time to make, but I highly doubt they would make a customer at the restaurant wait for 1.5 hours for one dish. Really disappointing service. The food is really good, but that does not excuse the ridiculous amount of time they took.

I went there on 21st December 2019 for my son's birthday with my mother, children and wife. I had heard a lot about the place and so we had been planning on going there for quite a while. The place has a nice ambience. We had followed google maps in getting there and it led us right upto the place but once we reached we were a bit flummoxed as there were no visible signboards at night to point out where it was. Luckily we asked some people nearby and they pointed us in the right direction.

We were very impressed by the exquisite courtesy shown to us by the Manager Subhash and also the staff who were constantly on their feet rushing to and fro the kitchen and the tables and fulfilling orders. The restaurant was rightly full as the food was rather tasty.

Now as regards the food and why despite a pleasant experience I only gave a 4 star rating-

1. We had a mojito which was spot on i believe.
2. 2 bowls of sweet and sour chicken soup@ it was waaaay too spicy for me. I had really wanted the good ol sweet corn chicken soup but they didnt have that on the menu. Though I had requested that the spice quotient be toned down as I could not have spicy food at all, the soup was still too spicy by half for me.
3. Chicken wings- they were delicious and a bit spicy too. But there were only 4 pieces and I think may be it could have been made at least 6 instead of 4.
4. Prawn tempura- it seemed to be a clear winner at the restaurant as we could see huge amounts of prawn tempura orders being taken out of the kitchen to the various tables in frequent intervals. It was justifiably delicious. I have one recommendation though- something should be done about the batter which kept flaking all over the table and making it look a wee bit messy looking. I had to request subhash to clean the table and he very sweetly did it.
5.Sichuan crispy corn- it was quite nice. Again rather too spicy.
6. Pan fried noodles with black bean sauce and vegetables- it was superb.
7.chicken hakka noodles- exquisitely made.
8.prawn butter garlic with vegetables- it was nice and fresh and quite easy on the palette.
9.shredded chicken in black bean sauce- it was quite tasty but yet again spicy. A smaller less spicy portion was provided later after a certain mishap which happened with item no.10 and that hit the spot.
10. Chicken fried rice- the reason why I gave 4 stars!
While eating it, I kept feeling crunchy sounds in my mind. After a few bites, to my horror I realised that I was actually chewing egg shells. Then my daughter and my mother also realised it and I brought it to the attention of the manager. I didnt want to create a scene there and so I tried to be as discreet as possible. The manager and his assistant very sweetly had the fried rice and the chicken on my plate taken away and a fresh bowl of fried rice was made for me and a small portion of the shredded chicken too. This order was perfectly made. The manager subhash and his assistant apologised profusely and said that it must have been an error on the chef's part that led to this incident. I can understand and forgive such errors but that did detract a bit from my experience of the evening and hence I felt I could not compel myself to give 5 stars though I most certainly will visit again as otherwise the food was tasty and well made. Thank you.

I have been here couple of times.

During my latest visit, I ordered few items as I was full.

Ordered:
Fried Fish
Chives and cashew dimsum
Green Apple Mojito

I loved the dimsum and would reccommened it. Fried Fish was ok but the sauce wasnt great. Mojito had too much syrup in it.

Great Service.

Chris
Amaaaazing pork ribs they are so tasty and I believe they offer the best sushi in kerala it is not that pricey as well do give it a try

It's been sometime since my last visit so I don't really remember what all I had. From what I can remember, we had this minced beef with jasmine rice dish which was quite a treat, and the Pad Thai Noodles (I think?) Which was also quite nice.

But what blew my mind away were the desserts - The Mocha one was quite surprisingly delicious. I enjoyed the coconut icecream as well!

It's pretty evident that it's definitely on the expensive side but my Asian cuisine crazed friend attested to the authenticity of the dishes so thumbs up!

The bestest thing for vegetarians in @theasiankitchenbytokyobay is definitely
Green Thai Curry served with Jasmine Rice (₹400)
.
It's a traditional Thai coconut base gravy served with steamed Jasmine Rice.
.
I am in awe of the dish.
Words cannot express my love for this dish😍😍
.
I loved the GREEN THAI curry.
It had mushrooms, broccoli , zucchini and many more green veges.
.
The base could have been a bit more thicker.
But there was no compromise in its taste.
.
Jasmine Rice is a special type of Japanese rice, with Jasmine flavour.
.
Rating : 5/5
.
Anyone on a diet craving for ice creams??
.
.
Green Tea Ice-cream /Matcha Icecream (₹150)
.
Location @theasiankitchenbytokyobay .
Green tea ice cream or matcha ice is a Japanese ice cream flavor.
.
Match powder is used to make the Icecream.
.
.
I personally didn't like it much probably because I'm not a green tea person.😅😅
.
Are you?
.
.
Rating - 2/5
.
WOK TOSSED TOFU WITH BLACK PEPPER SAUCE (₹550)
.
Many people use the word Tofu and Paneer as synonyms.
Paneer is a milk product, while tofu is a soy product. ... It seasoned over the tofu well and bought out great flavours.
.
.
Seemed to be a bit pricy .
But worth a try😊
.
Thanks Rohit for the invitation. We definitely had an amazing time throughout the session.
.
Am in LOVE with the ambience 😍😍😍 . .
Location - @theasiankitchenbytokyobay
.
Ratings - 3.5/5

This place is located near fortkochi beach. It has a friendly ambience.Staffs are extra sweet and took the extra effort to make us comfortable.

Food we had:Pork Dimsum,Pork ribs,Matcha Icecream,Jasmine rice and Thai Prawn green curry(ok not sure of this name though)
Taste: Dimsum was realy good.It was juicy tender and had the perfect balance of flavours with oozing flavourful pork fat.
Pork ribs was decent. It had a chinese flavour taste to it.Good portion although i wish it had more meat that fat..But still i am not complaining as it did taste good.
Thai Prawn green curry and jasmine rice. They give that as a combo.I didnt get the jasmine flavour as it should be.Curry lacked seasoning.I had to add a lot.. I mean a LOT of salt to uplift its taste.
Matcha Icecream-very dissapointed. It had icecrystal pockets in it.I was expecting it to be more creamier. In naadan baadha matcha icecream is Chaaya icecream. So yea get the name right before you buy it.

Overall experience: Good.

Ambience :
This Japanese themed restaurant has a well lit ambient atmosphere ideal for a family dinner.

Food :
The beef starter was heavenly. The tuna sashimi was served with a delicious sauce that brought out all the flavours. The Japanese style pan fried noodles was delicately crispy. The shrimp fried rice and Jasmine fried rice packed a punch too. The Pina colada mocktail was refreshing and tasty enough to repeat it.

Service :
The waiters were courteous and polite. The service was pretty fast.

Cost :
The prices are moderate and the value for money is decent.

The place is of great ambience and decent Asian cuisine. We had ordered fish cooked in banana leaf , chicken wings, egg fried rice and grilled chicken..I loved the fish. The wings were a tad bit mismatched and I couldn't enjoy the sweet chicken. However what I loved the most were their collection of paintings and lovely decor

The best place where you get some amazing Asian food!

Crispy Chicken Wings (Honey Chilli) from this place ! Nothing more nothing less, this is the best chicken wings I've had till date. I could literally hear the crunchiness as it was perfectly crisp and yum!😍🔥Also the Spicy Beef Dim Sum were fantastic. It had a minced beef in chilly and corrainder filling. From the dessert part I ve been hearing a lot about the matcha ice cream and I did tried that too. When we hear 'ice - creams', it's always something creamy texture type dessert that we can think of. But this was kinda very icy instead of being creamy. Because of icy texture on every bite, I couldn't feel the matcha flavour. So may be u guys could have a look on it and improve on the flavouring and make it bit more creamier. So that everyone could indulge and enjoy the flavour!

If I talk about the ambience, really calm and beautifully arranged. Also the service was quick and well behaved! Overall a great experience!🥰

#foodprincess94 #followmeoninsta #foodblogger #foodieforever #myfoodstories

I usually don't write reviews. It would be a nasty one, When I write. But this place is an exception. I don't mind spending 5 minutes of my time, knowing that I won't get them back ever, It's like God speaking to us through food. I do u have any more words to put it

One of the best Asian restaurants in Kochi, with courteous staff and proper knowledge regarding zomato gold services. The hospitality of the staff and the authenticity of the flavors are what makes the dining experience memorable. It's hard to find such amazing food with generous portions in quantity, with proper presentation and taste elsewhere in Kochi.

Tokyo Bay is a go to hub for some fine Sushi and wasabi, pork ribs and one of the nicely done Pina Coladas. The place is known for great Thai, Vietnamese, Singaporean, Chinese and Malaysian food. The place is indeed a must try.
Cheers fellow foodies!

Got to try out sushi for the first time and the experience was good. The waiter even helped us with that. The rest of the food was okay. The green tea ice cream was really good. However the food is a bit too expensive.

Great menu, delicious food!
This place serves tasty Asian food. The staff and their service is commendable. It's located in a very beautiful area. We had ordered some of their dishes and my favourite among them was Nasi Goreng. For dessert we had Macha ice cream.

The best Chinese food you could find in Kochi and They have these amazing Sushi’s 🍣 but price are quite high but what! It Saves your flight ticket 🎫 tho 😋

Great menu!

Love the options in term of food.
Staff can be a little more attentive in terms of water because these are exotic flavors and you will have a lot of first timers.
Also, the decor can be improved greatly.
Loved the food - Gyu Kushi, Salmon and Tuna Sashimi, Prawn Tempura, Wings, Mango Cheesecake, etc.

It’s very rare that you find no-fuss clean flavours, good food done right! Thats where Asian Kitchen by Tokyo Bay excels located in the Cochin Club, Fort Kochi. By the decor of the place you know the food is the hero of the place. Miso soup was brilliant with the right balance of flavours, prawn tempura was spot on ( even Zuma , Hongkong could not get it right) the dimsum was a burst of flavours. The tuna maki highlighted the quality of tuna which can rival even its Japanese counterpart. The curry was a tad too creamy but flavour was just as close as one can get without the availability of sweet basil, kaffir lime and birds eye chili to add to the spice. The meal ended with homemade green tea ice cream and tender coconut and jaggery ice cream which had its sweetness just right preserving the flavours of the ingredients used

I was here for my lunch. This place is of Chinese and Japanese dishes specially recommend for sushi and traditional Japanese recipes.

And I cannot describe more about this place..

All I can rate is seven out of five 7/5

Ambiance was good
Service was good
Food was awesome

I got no option to cut my 5star rating for this place.

We ordered for three hot and sour chicken soup, one chicken fried rice and two chicken noodles, rice which was made of Jasmine rice was very tasty than any other fast food in kochi and soup was very thick filled with coriander stems and spices.

The staff were very friendly and helpful

They have very good patience in explaining the menu.

I'll definitely visit this place again whenever I get back to Kochi.

Thank you The Asian kitchen by tokyo bay for your amazing service.

This place is a little gem. They do real wonders with the food. Tempura vegetables, Butter garlic prawns and Thai Red curry is a must try. Would definitely recommend this place

Through the streets of fort Cochin, inside Cochin club. You will find this quiet pan asian restaurant. Been here a few times and never did I leave disappointed! The place is owned by baby marine(fishery group). So you can expect some quality seafood. Overall a good experience!

Family and I ended up at the Asian Kitchen on one evening in Fort Kochi. This is located within walking distance from some of the sights in the old quarter. The service was good, and the food was good as well. We ordered the spring rolls, tofu starter, hot and sour soup and a corn starter. All of these were quite flavourful and gastronomically pleasing. The one issue with all of these was the amount of sweet sauce that was used - less would have worked much better!
Manish Bahl
Excellent food. If you have Zomato gold it's a lottery. We had dinner there for two consecutive days since we stayed at Cochin club (it was in the premise of our resort). If you are in Old Kochi, this is a must try place for dinner.

Went here with a good friend during my visit to Fort Kochi last year in December. I was looking to use my Zomato gold membership and this place struck a chord with me. Situated in a lovely estate type location quite close to the ferry point. It had a museum or gallery next door as well. This quaint little place wasn't decked up, with decent seating options indoors and outdoors, as well a certainly more Asian inspired menu, I was skeptical of our order. I was craving sushi and the price had the sold. We ordered two salmon sushi as appetizers and moved on to order nasi goreng and minced beef chilly basil with jasmine rice for the mains. I must say they exceeded expectations.

Kudos to the team behind the place.

It was pleasent dining at Asian Kitchen by Tokyo Bay. The ambience was cool and staffs were friendly. Had pork ribs with honey chilli sauce, Vietnamese minced pork with jasmine rice and macha ice cream from asian tokyo bay. pork ribs were good but portion size were too less. Vietnamese pork was major let down. macha ice cream was fresh and tasty moreover to green tea flavor.
Justin Prasad
Have been here many times. A must visit place for Japanese food lovers in kochi. There sushi's are very authentic and delicious. For green tea lovers, they have a matcha ice-cream in their menu. Good ambience and friendly staff. Recommended!

Located among greens, this place made for the perfect relaxing place in the summer heat outside. Dimsums and mushrooms are a treat to the taste buds while the mojito and passion fruit cooler literally cooled us down. The spring rolls were average, but their service was quite impressive!
Riya Maria Jose
The place was good. Above all the staffs were extremely polite and good . Good food. Good quantity and quality. Tried Asian chicken salad and yaki soba . Both tasted good. Yaki soba came in good quantity.

A very nice restaurant, great cooking for Japanese cuisines and nice staff. Prices are a bit high and less quantity is served if this can be improved then one must visit

A True Asian Treat
It has been only 5 months since my Husband and I moved to Kochi. A good restaurant that will impress by husband's palate has always been a Herculean task for me. Yesterday, we visited The Asian Kitchen to celebrate his birthday and I'm truly glad I chose this restaurant. The food is amazing and a true treat to your Asian desires. We started with the Mix Mushroom soup and the Japanese Miso soup! The garlicky Mushroom soup and the Miso flavoured chicken soup was a delight. We then went on to the Pork Ribs with Barbeque sauce and the Triple fried Shredded beef for starters. Since I don't eat pork, can't comment on the flavour but I did see a twinkle in his eyes, every time he cut a portion. However, I can surely vouch for the beef! This crunchy appetiser with a touch of the sweet and spicy Thai sauce....Yummmm!!! Can still feel the taste in my mouth....Worth trying for sure. Didn't end there...We went on to order the Tekka Maki sushi and the Crystal Seven Spice Chicken Dim sum. Both were delectable, however, we felt the portion size was a little too less. Special mention to the Dim sum that simply melted away in my mouth. In-case you do visit the Asian Kitchen, please do not leave without tasting the Coconut and Jaggery ice-cream! Was my highlight specially because I'm a sweet-tooth. This flavourful bomb of dessert was super light, creamy and had all the ticks for a delicious end to the meal! The only negative I have for this restaurant is that we had limited choices only. Else, it was the perfect way to end the day!

Everything about this place gives you a good vibe , the food is amazing . So much better than any 5star in kochi ! Absolutely loved the food served here , personal favourites would be sushi and pork ribs . The service was very good as well , many more visits to this place for sure . Cheers !

A great restaurant. Wonderful food. Lovely staff. In the span of 4 days we went twice. The second time was with four more friends and family. Will definitely go again.

Nice ambiance. Provides authentic tastes of the cuisines. Tried Japanese this time. My pal and I enjoyed completely the soup kinchen jiru and the chicken skewer-Yakitori. I liked the sushi- Tekamaki, but my friend didn't as the fish was raw (it should be raw only and it is his opinion). The prices are reasonable for the soup and the starter. We felt that the sushi wasn't worth for that price.
The staff's behaviour was the best. They were more helpful. We enjoyed it.

I’ve walked by Asian Kitchen on several occasions and have dined next door at David Hall too, but never got around to trying the food there. Finally having gone to Fort Kochi in the guise of seeing the biennale, I ended up spending quite a bit of time at the place.
As I don’t eat fish, sushi was out of question. So I ordered the kenchin jiru soup, pork ribs in barbecue sauce, seven spice dimsums, wok tossed prawns in black pepper sauce and panfried chicken noodles in garlic sauce. To round the meal off, we tried the macha icecream and mango cheesecake.
The soup was mildly flavoured and had chicken and mushrooms and other sautéed vegetables. It was good without being great. The barbecue pork ribs (4 no’s) are quite tasty, though small in quantity. The chicken dimsums (5nos) were a spicy delight and was the second best dish I tried at Asian Kitchen. The prawns were decent and the pan fried noodles were the same.
The highlight of the meal was the macha icecream (a must try item on the menu). Its so light and refreshing and has a unique flavour profile. The mango cheese cake was alright but was served on top of strawberry syrup which was rather weird)

The ambience is good. Food is great. We had for starters:
1. Stir fried chicken - was good. had fresh juicy veggies in it.
2. Triple fried shredded beef which was super sweet so it was not that great
3. Pork ribs with barbeque sauce this was also super sweet
4. Crispy garlic squid - this was gooood

Main course
Yaki soba - yumm
Fried rice
And jasmine rice with pork belly - yummm as well
Also ordered a beef dish which I don't recollect

In short, We loved the service and the food as well.. just that few dishes were too sweet for our taste buds.

McQueen
It had been in list for a while to try out Japanese food.
As usual for a vegetarian it's so difficult to find varieties..
Thought to check out this place after biennale.
Tom yum soup was yummy
Passion fruit cooler too syrupy
Litchi mojito was good.
Main course was a huge failure
First of all we ordered a stir fried green which they told was gravy but it was more like a salad.
Chahan , a Japanese flavoured rice was a rescue though not wow .
Hakka noodles was a disaster .. don't know which oil they used but kind of put us down..
Green tea ice cream can be tried.
Over all ok eats not worth the pay.
Neha Vijay
Delicious food and great ambience. The service and the staff are commendable. For dessert we had Macha ice cream and coconut and jaggery ice cream, and they both turned out to be good.

I visited this hidden gem after one of my friend suggested me . I ordered for miso soup, red Thai curry, udan and negori. Food were very delicious and presentation was amazing. Very polite staff and amazing décor. Price is also reasonable wrt quality of food. Must visit and enjoy. I was lucky to meet the chef also #amitrai. Amazing guy ... Cheers !!!!!

1. Pork Ribs in BBQ sauce.

Sauce tasted more like honey chilly but no complaints as it was truly delicious, soft and juicy.

2. Shredded Chicken in Black Pepper sauce

Hint of pepper was evident in each bite and crispiness gave it that extra edge.

3. Sliced Beef and bell pepper

This chap stole the show. Cant explain how ot tasted but it really did play som magic with my taste buds.

4. Chilly Chicken Dry

Was good but struggled a bit to make it to the list.

5. Nasi Goreng

Missed the Sunny side up guy in there, but taste and chicken skewers filled that gap pretty well.

6. Vegetable Hakka Noodles

Excelled in tatse and quantity.

Result : If you haven't guessed it by now, Beef was the clear winner with Pork ribs finishing just few inches behind.

Price wasn't definitely on the lower side but for ambience and service they provide, its nothing beyond reasonable.

C

Authentic Sushi at its best. They are highly concentrated on the ethnicity of Sushi. The prices are so low compared to other Sushi restaurants. And the friendly staffs and down to earth main Chef will make ur experience more comfortable. Highly recommended.

Have been to this place only thrice. It needs to happen more often though! The restaurant has a charm and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Have tried the nigiri sushi, chicken miso soup and their tempura udon( both hot and cold). If you want good Japanese food in Kochi, look no further as this place has some good Japanese food. The only thing I haven't tried is the maguro sashimi( tuna sashimi). I'm sure it'll be refreshing and nice. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I tried chicken dim sum, which is basically like momos, since beef and others were unavailable. Dim sum with thin coating and the sauce were killer.

I went in to the restaurant for a peace environment from the new year eve gaanamela outside, but it was still audible inside. They didn't have WiFi and almost all network have poor connectivity there. Also, they have only one bathroom for which there was queue!

Must experience this place in Fort Kochi. Excellent menu, very well planned mix of small and mid size plates. Asian themed, with a definite leaning towards Japanese cuisine. Parking available inside, or on the street nearby. Pricing is mid range, just right to keep the profile in check and not too expensive either. Zomato gold accepted.

We tried the prawns teppanyaki, beef chilly, chicken dimsums and green thai curry. Perfect order size for 4, we needed an extra rice. Finished off with coconut ice cream with Jaggery sauce, which was outstanding.

Excellent food and hard working service team. It was packed on a Sunday evening but their smiles stayed on throughout. Kudos on a well run restaurant!

Highly recommended.

Such a lovely setup and such good food! Very accommodative place- not troubled by howling babies or tired adults haha! Chef himself came out to discuss allergies and modify the orders to suit us ! We had some papaya salad , some sushi, chicken fry with sticky rice and veggies with sticky rice . Skipped the Thai curry as the chef said it had dairy. Well, everything was delicious and I ended up reordering on Ubereats on the same day! Absolute must visit if u r in Kochi and are craving some Asian food!

Its between casual and fine dine. The service is not too overwhelming. The location is accessible yet discreet. And the food is fantastic! The plating is neat and the flavours are distinct from each other. Yet, so affordable. For the quality and flavours, definitely affordable. Had a magical Tom Yum after ages and the Sushi is just the right moist, with the Wasabi exactly there. Does not make you a pungent vapour dragon. Coming back for the dumplings. And lastly, enough to please the vegetarians. Less is More, as far as the veggies go. Whatever they have is rocking. One star less for a very nauseating room freshener indoors and want of slight more alertness in service.

First of all, I really like the staff here. They are polite and friendly, very attentive to your needs. The food is over spicy that it covers the original taste of the veggie ( flat noodles, stir fried Asian green, pak Choi broccoli). There are some mosquitoes here, do ask for the mosquito repellents.

The Asian Kitchen is one of the most consistent restaurants in Kochi offering the best Asian delicacies over the last few years. The Salmon Sushi is to die for and so are the crispy juicy squid rings. This is the best go to restaurant for Sushi in Kochi.

Nice ambience and nice food combined with nice service Always gives you a great feeling, one of the best tempura I had in Cochin recently , keep up the good work

The best Japanese junction in Fort Kochi. Their line of mocktails just keeps getting better as you try them. Tempura Prawns they serve are unlike any other restaurant. This place has its own charm and grandeur. A must must visit place if you like Sushi.

The delicious food and the polite staff at the Asian Kitchen will make you frequent this place. One of the best places in Kochi for Japanese food.

Had the Salmon Sushi and the Thai Green curry with Jasmine Rice. It was so good. Our waiter Sajan Singh was extremely courteous and catered to all our needs since we were with our infant. The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional.

Went last week and had the BBQ pork ribs. Exactly like the ones you get off the street in Hong Kong / China! Do try!

Great food, wonderful staff. This place always has a means of satisfying my sushi craving and is one of its kind in Kochi. Love coming here for a nice Sunday afternoon meal with family. #sushilove

Would say the place is just average. We tried out a variety of starters and dim sums (both veg and non veg) and also had Thai for the main course. The chicken dim sum was good but the Hakka noodles and Thai red curry fell flat. Chicken wings were just okay and so was the veg dim sum. Spring rolls were decent and so were most of the drinks. Wouldn’t go there again as it did not wow me but it definitely gives us all in Kochi a different option.

Craving for Asian food and the enticing Zomato Gold offer (1+1 on food) led me here for dinner.
The ambience is perfect, located near the Fort Kochi beach and is beautiful at night.
The staff is very polite and courteous, always smiling and very pampering.

Coming to the food, if you're looking for authentic Asian food, this is the place to go! (PS. This is the only place that serves sushi in Kochi)

We ordered :

1. Malaysian Laksa soup with shrimp : This creamy thick soup with perfectly cooked shrimp was delicious.

2. Kappa maki : This place is the ONLY place that serves SUSHI in Kochi and it is delicious!
Served with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger, the sushi was mind blowing.

3. Tamago and sake makki : Delicious egg and salmon sushi.

4. Minced beef with jasmine rice : This is the most delicious thing I've ever had!! Must try.

3. Thai green curry with jasmine rice (veg) : This wasn't very spicy but still tasted delicious. It tasted very close to the authentic Thai curry that I've had before.

Overall, I had a great experience and 10/10 will visit soon again for that minced Beef and sushi!
Went yesterday (7 October 2018) for lunch and the food was fabulous. Tempura prawns, minced pork dim sum, mini spring rolls and shredded crispy chilli chicken. Washed down with fresh passion fruit juice/soda and mint. Pleasant location, good ambience and attentive staff. Went for Christmas lunch today (25 December 2018). Yet again amazing food. Tried the teriyaki chicken - delicious- and crispy squid - equally delicious. And of course dim sum and prawns tempura (between 2 and we couldn't finish it). We waited awhile to make room for coconut and jaggery ice cream. What can I say - food heaven. Lunch today 16 January 2019 comprised minced pork, Thai chicken with cashews and sticky rice. We also enjoyed a Virgin Guava Mary mocktail. Delicious as usual. Thank you Soby and team

This beatific resto had been pinging on my radar for long and Zomatogold's launch in Kochi gave me reasons enough to visit (I got a complimentary dish 😊) . In all earnest, it was a gastronomic delight. They have a cheerful staff who go into explaining the menu to you in detail. We ordered a Miso soup with prawns, a Nigiri sushi which is a hand pressed sushi and comes in different variants - we chose Salmon. A Nasi Goreng with shrimps and a grilled chicken in Japanese teriyaki sauce. Having had eaten at a few Japanese restaurants I can veritably claim that this is the closest you'll get to the cuisine at Kochi. In a nutshell, they take a 5 on 5.

PS To top it all, try their fabled Matcha green tea ice cream, which was quite a delight since I've tried the famous Japanese green tea but never an ice cream made from it.

Amazing oriental food ! Had the Chicken Teriyaki, the pork ribs in barbecue sauce, salt & pepper prawns with broccoli, and for dessert the darsan(fired flat noodles) with vanilla ice cream.
Must say all the things that we ordered were excellent this was our first visit and yes we are impressed. This is definitely be a place we visit again. To add to the charm the staff are very courteous and prompt. Keep it up :)

Go-to place in Kochi if you want to try sushi/sashimi. Really nice ambience, pleasant staff are eager to show you around. Rather upscale prices, at a great location.

Most amazing Asian food I have ever had. We ordered for hot & sour soup, pan fried noodles, chicken wings & fried fish with peanut sauce. Everything was very tasty. And the ambience is too die for. We sat overlooking the Cochin Club & what a sight it was.

Went to the Asian Kitchen with high hopes, mostly fueled by the rating from zomato. But the experience was contrary to the expectation. The only best part of the whole experience was the really courteous and pleasant staff. The staff do really deserve a 5 star review. But the food doesn't really match up to the hype. Ordered pork ribs, dim sums, sushi and hakka noodles. Everything was overpriced for what was being delivered. Ribs weren't even ribs. Just 4 pieces of pork fat and a bit of meat, oil fried and topped with barbecue sauce. This for ₹330. Absolutely unjustified. Dim sums were ok but the sushi pretty much negated all of those plus points. 3 stars overall just because of the staff. If you have actually had the real stuff you'd probably have your hopes destroyed real fast here.

This is a fantastic restaurant and probably the closest you can get to authentic Asian cuisine. They serve Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian etc. that staff is super friendly and the ambience is also really good at night.
Mainak SahaKundu
A fantastic place with super friendly crew. We were greeted with the ever smiling crew even in the worst of weather conditions.
A 10/10 for the amazing dim sums at this place. The 7 spices dim sum is out of this world.
We also tried the flat noodles with chicken and it was equally good. Great food at decent prices. This place is a must visit in Fort Kochi.
Keep it up!!
Excellent asian food outlet in Fort Kochi. Great ambience and very spacious with ample parking space. Everything I've ordered from here so far in my various visits have all been great. Good Sushi as well. While the price may be a little on the higher side, it is definitely worth the money. After having a horrific experience with fried ice cream at Golden Dragon, it was nice to have a good one.

Recently went for lunch in Asian Kitchen. Fantastic food and mouth watering taste. Great service and well taken care. Whole family enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommended and will be definitely going back. Sunil and Indu

Great food but a dining experience is about the setting atmosphere and the staff which I felt disappointed. The restaurant has no father about being Asian except the food and menu. The decor is close to none. The upkeep of the restaurant is por with walls being damaged and mouldy. Staff were in plentyy but not engaging. Their phones seemed more important.
The food is yyummmmmm
It lacks atmosphere as it does not have strong personalities that engage and fil in the gap for the lack of atmosphere on a rather quiet evening. Theside plates chipped, cutkery very dated and hence not not match up to being a speciality restaurant. We were 5 at the table and we're served a bowl of lettuce shred with chilly dressing which I think it a complete let down for a meal start of. Deserts not Asian as well except for a coconut and jaggery desert.
Lots of food items not available on the menu. I saw sashimi on the menu and hence looked forward to it but not available. No sushi and no som Tam as well. That was a real shame.
