Review Lokah Restaurant & Cafe - Kochi (Cochin)

Noopa Vijith
Nice ambience and attitude of staff. Ordered Mexican soup as it had many reviews. Though tasted above average, it was somewhat like a curry than a soup.. Korean fried chicken was a good starter. The steak was cold.. Chinese roast chicken was a bit hard, but its gravy tasted good.

My friend took me to this place for the first time and i loved it. It was absolutely wonderful. The Menu had so many different options and moreover the ambiance is so wonderful. Its calm and there is absolutely great lighting. Nicely Air Conditioned and if you want enjoy the sun and fresh air you could opt for outdoor seating as well.
Renju Lawrence
A premium restaurant providing quality food. They offer authentic continental food. Their steaks are way good. Perfect for family dining. Moderate crowded place. Without requesting they provide candle lit dinner. Courteous crew who are ready to brief us on the menu. Highly recommended.

The best thing about this place it's ambience. If you are looking for a quiet place then this would be the ideal location ! The food taste good and offers a lot continental and Kerala foods. FYI it's on the premium side but then you could guess that from the outside view of the restaurant itself. For a fine late night dinning this place is a perfect choice.

Lokah is a good restaurant with unique dishes by there own. Beef steak which they served was out of the world. If you are around vytilla it's a must try restaurnat. Ambience is good. Staff are well behaved. I recommend you to go after 7 pm so that you will get all there special dishes.

The place is situated beside the highway and is very easy to locate. Upon entering , I found the place to be charming and quite spacious. Since we went in the afternoon, it wasn't very crowded and was immediately attended to. From the wide array of dishes in the menu, we ordered the Chicken Lasagne and Lamb Konji Crispy Stir Fry. They did take quite a long time to bring the food to our table, but the wait was absolutely worthwhile. We were completely floored by both the dishes. The Chicken Lasagne was wonderful as it was but the main star for us was the Lamb Konji Stir Fry. Made with dark soy and pepper, the lamb was extremely crunchy and super delicious. Do give it a try the next time you go there!

Good Ambience. Great Western Foods. Moderately Economical. Tried the Fish & Chips and Pie - both Pretty Good.

One of the good restaurant in NH bypass Vytilla for small gathering and family get together

Inconsistent quality , some lucky days you get great food but some other days you would have not so good experience there

Good service. Better Food. Many choice

Great food. We had been here for a team lunch. Great ambience and good food is synonymous with lokah. Unfortunately they have shifted locations.
Godliness Contentment
Good place for a variety of multi-cuisine food. Food is enjoyable, though depending on the cuisine which fits each one's personal taste. Ambience is good and could be fit for a fine dining experience. The service however doesn't fit the bill of a fine dining place, though they are friendly and helpful. Location is pretty easily accessible and the parking is normally quite easy. Hope the Lokah management continues the good work and not let the standards drop.
Amar Joseph
Best restaurant for all types of cuisines at reasonable prices. Must try their steak's.

It's the only restaurant in cochin city that has been maintaining consistent quality and service levels right from the day of commencement. Very courteous staff. Menu is truly "world on your plate". Hats off to Abhishek for the involvement which make this happen. Please visit them during your visit to kochi. Clean , neat and true value for money.

Went to Lokah for a family lunch outing... Loved the beef steak .. apart from that, the remaining items were fair enough... The ambience is ok...In total, I wouldn't say it was mind-blowing...At the same time, it wasn't a disappointment too..It's certainly worth the money you pay for... 2800 rs for 6 people...
Sujesh P Lal
Nice place to have a lunch and sleep Wanna have breakfast and dinner too

Great menu. Truly multi cuisine. Owner involvement with customers is good. Food is among the best in the city. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was a bit too blackened (not golden brown), and the brownie was not warmed enough. Highly recommended!
Cherian Peter
Quantity is enough for an ant. Extremely less n not worth it.

A beautiful restaurant with the good ambiance. Food...Yummy..! All their dishes are must try dishes :-)

one of the best places that i have been to in Kochi! the moment you feel you want to try a different cuisine, just go to this place! they serve a verity of worldly cuisine, and you will love it! the people and the ambiance is simply wonderful.

THIS PLACE IS SHUT FOR GOOD and zomato even unlocked gold offers for me for this restaurant. Please be in touch with your partners 😑😡
Very disappointed
This place is shut down. The food was decent the last time we went . One 🌟 to let people know that this property is still listed in zomato gold list.

One of the good cafes in Kochi!

Ambience - 4/5
Food - 3/5
Staff and Service - 3/5
Value for Money - 4/5

Ambience - Visited Lokah cafe for dinner and it was filled with people on a Saturday. It is one of the busiest cafes in Kochi. If you notice, most of the cafes are located in Fort Kochi and it is very hard to find cafes in the other parts. The ambience was nice. The lights were mellow and the seating was comfortable.

Food - We ordered Konji Crispy Lamb, Goan Prawn Curry, Prawn Fried rice and a few Appams. The Konji Crispy lamb (5/5) was amazing . The perfect blend of sauces and spices, loved tasting it. The Goan Prawn curry (3/5) was good and it went well with the Appams. The Prawn fried rice (3/5) was filled with really tiny prawns (the best part) and loved having it, although the taste of the fried rice could’ve been better.

Service - The service was okay. I wouldn’t say it was super fast. But it was satisfying.

Value for money - Definitely worth a try!
Mohammed Arshad
Good ambience and a peaceful place. Their burgers are not worthy and their waiter has got an attitude. The fries were crisp tho'. If u want to kill some time, its a place u should go because the waiting time is too much. The cafe was unsatisfactory, not sure will go try their restaurant.
Remya C
I had beef vindaloo and naan.. Its a must try.. On previous occasions I had tried pasta, steak, lasagne which were just average. The place is quiet and has a good ambience.

Went to Lokah for a team lunch and had a good experience.

We started with Hot and Sour Chicken Soup. Soup was spicy enough which greatly complemented my taste buds. Soups were followed by Chicken Stroganoff and Chicken & Beef Tenderloin Steaks.

I felt Stroganoff could've been a little more spicier. Tenderloin was rich and chef made sure the marination didn't overshadow the raw taste of meat - which I enjoyed.

Service was on a bit slower side, and we also had a concern reg the Zomato Gold applied complimentary dishes. We were wrongly billed 200 bucks extra because of this mismatch.

Otherwise a good experience we have had. Certainly going back soon.

(Giving it 3 stars until the Zomato Gold complaint is sorted)

Has been visiting the place regularly. Was disappointed at this visit. The waiting time was long. While we used the Spotify game while waiting the offer promised was not given as the site did not respond. Though it is a third party app, the answer given by the service was not approachable on the concerns raised. The service levels has drastically dripped. Wanted to meet the manager but was not available
Nandu Nair
Enjoyed the visit. Ambience was really good! We ordered a Chicken and a Veg Lasagna. It was really good, attractive and was served hot! We had a Mudpie for dessert and it was really yum! They had a competition online which we won and was awarded a Brownie on the house(picture not included). Must visit at least once if you’re in town.

Easily accessible from NH. Enough parking place . Great ambiance. We ordered steak and Biriyani.. Food tastes good . You should give it a try ..

When I went the restaurant was closed. So we had to eat from the cafe. We ordered deserts, wasn't that satisfying. Both in taste and quantity.

Very bad service. They said he will accept Zomato gold offer. At the time of payment, they didn't accept it.Very bad food also. Not worth the price.

Lokah has been on my list of must-try restaurants ever since my move to Kochi and so finally I ended up dropping by here for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Lokah has a very diverse menu with dishes from different parts of the world. It was quite interesting to pick various courses from an assortment of cuisines.

Starting off with Soup, we choose Vietnamese Beef Pho. For Appetizers, we went with the Chicken Balsamico Bruschetta. As for the Mains, we ordered Southern Fried Chicken and Beef Tenderloin Steak with Mediterranean Rosemary Basil. For drinks, we choose Pineapple & Ginger and Grape & Cucumber from their Fresh Fruit Blends.

The Beef Pho was packed with flavor and delicious. The Chicken Bruschetta was generously topped and tasted quite good, though a slight bit dry. It would've been perfect had there been a sauce or dip accompanying it. The Southern Fried Chicken though, was not what we were expecting at all.

It consisted of Boneless Chicken Strips served on a bed of Coleslaw and a side of Fries. The flavour of the chicken was quite different but tasted good nonetheless though one expects a heartier portion when ordering Fried Chicken. The Fries were delicious but the Coleslaw was warm from the Chicken, which compromised its taste as cold Coleslaw tastes best. The Beef Tenderloin Steak though, was kind of a miss as the meat was a bit too chewy. But the sauce and sides were decent. Lastly, both drinks were tasty and refreshing with the Pineapple & Ginger being the clear winner of the two.

Service was great with friendly and competent staff. The restaurant has some interesting decor and is quite spacious. It didn't quite live up to my expectations which were pretty high but it was a decent dining experience and definitely worth a visit to 'explore the world on your plate'.

Excellent Restaurant.
Visited this place because of zomato Gold.
Very good ambience.
Excellent food. All the food ordered by our family of 6 were good. Special mention required for the beef lasagne.
Staff were very courteous and friendly.
We reached lokah at their closing time. Still they accomodated us very friendly.

Very good place. A must try in Kochi.

Went here for dinner on Sunday night , they have an interesting menu with dishes from all around the world this can be quite confusing as in to decide what to order. We finally settled for pollo molo Verde which is a Mexican dish comes with a portion of rice and chicken and a chicken Lasagna. Food was wonderful from the preparation to the presentation. Defenitly going back here to give the other dishes a try.
Smitha Naik
Amazing food and courteous staff. The chilli ice-cream is yum! The Thai fish and rice was also good..conveniently situated on the highway , it's a must visit place
Vishnu S Menon
There is variety in the menu. But the taste is not up to mark. Kerala style starters are very good also the deserts can be highly rated. In short this place has very good options on their menu but needs improvement in the taste of main course section.
Hijas Habeeb
The place is quite nice. Situated after holiday inn hotel. Having enough parking space.

The service is really good. They deliver almost all freshly prepared food. The cost is comparitively slightly higher.

When it comes to food. They have wide varieties. It is worth a try. I had beef steak and it was good, worth the price.

If you are planning for an evening with friends or family dinner this can be the place. The only thing is they will test our patience sometimes. If you have enough time there is no issue at all.
Zohra
I ve had Beef lasagne, prawn tempura, the jerk chicken not upto the mark though. Decent place with some tasty dishes. Would go back here ? Not really. Only if i crave the beef lasagne.

Lokah is a good cafe to hangout while in the NH bypass area. Their roast chicken with fried rice is my favourite. Their Vindaloo is really good too.
Asif Basheer
A quiet and peaceful place to relax and have food. Even though right next to NH By-pass, the place has an eerie calm.

Since we went there to meet a prospective client, the order stuck to drinks and munchies.

The French fries were salted perfect. Exactly to my level of salt in fries. The iced tea was refreshing and brightened things up during a rather boring meeting. Coffee was the standard issue John Doe coffee without a life to it.

Apart from the fact that a whole lot of flies were flying around us, lokah was just okay.
Roby Raj
I just loved it... the chicken steak and the toritos ...yuuuuuum.. Thanku lokah. It's worth it. You can easily land on to lokah for a safe yum food.
We went to Lokah after months craving for what we had before...but this place ruined our weekend! NASI GORENG was cold...service was average...and literally they had no other customers on a weekend at peak time!! Intially I wondered why,but once onceI finished my meal,I realized the quality of food has come down..and that was our last visit to LOKAH!!! they dont maintain the quality of service n food anymore....DISSAPOINTED!

Had ordered puttu and fish curry .. the fish was not fresh at all .. spending so much and getting spoilt fish is not great . Also the apple pie was too sweet .. and they have very less options on desserts .. I could hardly find any .. disappointed .. although the steak was good .overall I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone .. keeping the taste part apart. . at least they should serve well cooked and fresh food
Rahul Pradeep
extremely unprofessional service took 2 hours to deliver
Nikita Wilson
We went in the evning but they just had plain coffee which was watery and devoid of any flavour. The apple strudel was not too tasty, a little bland and we had to struggle our way through it.

Taste: 3/10
Ambience: 5/10
Service: 3.5/10
Chicken quesadilla was good. Disappointed with the Biriyani. Chicken karivepilla fry was just okay, a bit salty and too peppery. And I've to say this again, very disappointed with the Biriyani. And they serve the worst tea.
Deepthi Sreenath
The brownie is yummy. The service is good. Ambience not bad. The quality of the food varies. But definitely worth a try. Rates are ok, I wouldn't call it cheap.

Never received my food. This restaurant shouldn't be on Zomato.

Lovely ambience. Especially commendable, is the behaviour of the staff...they definitely deserve a 6-star! Great food...which was also quite aesthetically presented. All in all, a great place for a date 🤩
Lokah is a familiar place to most of us here at kochi, so skipping over the Ambience and service part and jumping straight to food (in case you are not from kochi, the Ambience is that of a cozy place with plenty of room and ambient lighting. Perfect for intimate dinner dates, and the service matches the Ambience) .

Tenderloin steak with chimichurri sauce - I ordered it medium rare. The steak looked like it was over cooked, but when I cut into it, it was perfect. And the sauce was good, reduce a smidgen of olive oil and it would've been perfect.

Pad Thai - This is my favorite dish from Lokah. I have had many pad Thai's in and around kochi. Some were horrible, some passable. But the one here, the yummiest. Not sure about the authenticity ( I have not had the authentic thing yet). But this one passes with flying colors in order of taste, quantity and overall aesthetic.!.

Always been a fan of Lokah and will continue to visit!. ☺️☺️😍

Happy fooding!. 😊😊
pasta was very tasty and healthy.

This place is an all in one package of lip smacking food, wonderful ambience, food varieties and good service. I've been to this place quite a lot of times and I've never been disappointed. I don't have any particular suggestions for the best dish of this place but my personal favourites are the Nasi Goreng, Chicken Biryani and Chicken Kariveppela Fry❤️(Must try). The desserts, even are not of wide varieties, but are still amazing. The Tender Coconut Soufflé and "Poached Red Chillies and Fruits with Ice-cream" are my all time preferences. The prices are reasonable, can't say it's cheap but trust me, it's worth the price. The waiters are friendly and they do give us suggestions. I'm taking off one star from my rating because of the long waiting times. No other issues so far 😊

Lokah is a restaurant that has been in cochin for a long time.
It's one of the first choice when it comes to meeting friends.
Food - we ordered Tom yum soup, paneer tikka and a pasta. The soup was a disappointment. The rest of the food was served fresh and promptly.

Service - was quick. The staff could be a little pleasant and Courteous.

Ambiance - For a hot summer afternoon, two of the ACs were not working, and we had to switch tables. As the crowd increased, it got a little stuffy.
The place has become a little dull compared to 3 years ago.
They could play good music, so people could enjoy their time spent there.
George Mathew
Great ambience, clean & neat. Friendly staff. But... food was not at all up to anywhere it’s mark. Over cooked pasta, sticky kheema paratha was bland and hard, flat bread ordered has almost every vegetable one could imagine. Food quality is disappointing. Menu has almost every item from every corner of the globe but, it does let taste anywhere near to how it is meant to be. Lovely place but food quality and authenticity is something that needs urgent attention.

Would I go back to Lokah? Probably yes to try their all day breakfast in the hope that too isn’t messed up.
Mohamed Nizam
Got the order delayed. Expected Delivery time was around 1 hour 15 minutes. Was still late by about 15 minutes. Took 90 minutes to deliver to a 2km distant address located on the main road. Pathetic!

Visited for a Sunday lunch with family. We were 5 of us. Ambience was decent and restaurant was clean. Cooling was less as only one AC was working. Their menu is very confusing and Indian, continental, Chinese is all mixed and the waiters don’t explain properly when we ask something. So to be one safer side we ordered 4 mutton biriyani and 1 chicken biriyani. We also ordered 1 lime juice, 2 musambi juice,1 grape juice and 1 pine apple juice. Lime was sour. After 15 minutes the biriyani was served. It was more like rice with chicken gravy. The chicken biriyani was hopeless. The chicken was hard and rubbery. The mutton biriyani has good mutton pieces but it was again rice with mutton gravy. The rice was less in the biriyani. We were pretty disappointed. Maybe his place is not good for Indian items. Not sure of it.

So oily the beef vindaloo, hardly any beef pcs...I could soak out the oil with loadsa paper and then have it..But tasty .. noodles and nasi goreng chicken rice were really good
Rizwana
The food here is just so yum. Their chicken lasagna melted my heart. They also serve one of the best tender coconut souffles in town. The ambience is quite amazing. They are also located at a prime location.

Went to this place on a whim.. but was pleasanty surprised. We had ordered the chicken dimsum..the filing was a little dry but the peanut sauce was delicious. For mains we went the pan asian route.. We had the pad thai chicken noodles and the wok tossed beef with black bean sauce. The noodles were perfect and light and the beef was just right. The black bean sauce was not over powering and tasted delicious. For dessert.. I would highly recommend the mocha caramel.. the caramel with the hit of coffee was a wonderful treat on the taste buds. The brownie was another delight and best enjoyed with a scoop of ice cream..
Ricki Thomas
Lokah is my go to place in Kochi. Their mutton dishes are pretty amazing. The continental dishes (cottage pie, lamb kibbeh etc) are not exactly authentic but they have done a good job with it.
Ackil John
Food not upto the hype, but still one of the oldest place of mine. Service is good. I prefer their own coffee shop by the side, its menu is much better in comparison...
The_munching_rover
This is one fine place in Kochi which is my favourite. They never disappoint. Food is fresh and yummy. First time we were running short of time, so we could just have veg lasagna which was yummilicious (5/5). Second time, we had veg pad thai, cottage cheese steak and grape and cucumber juice. Everything was again (5/5). Ambience is good and price totally reasonable with sufficient quantity for two. Thank you @Lokah for being our savior in Kochi 😊.

Just had a meal here with a clients meeting. This restaurant is one of those which is good in this area is what my client had told so tried the same. The place is very decent look and filled with people. Tried their biryanis and Fish Thali 🐟. The taste also is great and the portions are very decent it fills the tummy.

Location 4/5
Food 5/5
Service 4.5 / 5 this was because we told the person serving that the Raita is Bitter and he told that’s how it will be....
Sreelekshmi V
Very good space to have a dinner or lunch. Nice range of food across all categories, Their Ambiance is also good. This place is also recommended for office get togethers.
Sourav Saraf
Went to the restaurant on recommendation from a friend. The concept is great and the ambience also well designed. Being a vegetarian, I ordered veg quessedillas which was a huge disappointment and pasta was ok.On questioning, the staff said this is how a quessedilla is made and nobody has questioned them for years. He was not open to feedback and criticism

If you are craving for the best lasagnes and steaks in town..this is one of the place..thai dishes are one of a kind here .it takes time for the food to get delivered..but worth the wait

A cool and calm cafe to spend with your friends chatting and giving your taste buds a treat with Pan Asian Delicacies. Ordered Pad Thai Chicken noodles. Unexpectedly it was served quick and it was brilliant! Service is friendly.

0 star Only because of quantity. On giving feedback on fb page they say its because of smaller plates and want me ask which item is served in bigger plates 😆😆😆 id rather just not visit till they find bigger plates.
Rohit Cherian
My family and I keep visiting the place whenever we are in Kochi. This place never fails in its taste !!! Absolutely brilliant food, have tried most of their menu over time and it never disappoints!! Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Kochi.
Rashmi Punnooran
The world on your plate it is ! I tried the Chinese cuisine with a dash of desserts. They could probably improve on the choice of ice creams they serve. The Szechwan fried rice was yum! The wonton soup was great. I've tried the Ras Malai too, but couldn't find reasons to appreciate it much. Check out their array of pickles too, beef pickle isn't a bad choice !
Jahanzweb Nazr
Went after years to this restaurant, exterior shows the age but inside the setting is well maintained.

Ordered nasi goreng on my friend's recommendation( he visualized the real Indonesian one ). Very well disappointed with the outcome as it tasted like the ones available in the street.

Friend ordered beef bulgogi and it was good. Loved the display and beef was well cooked. Sweet desserts brownie ,churros and gulab Jamun were just ok.

Food was excellent and the ambiance was great , as usual. I suggest the Meloni Thatkari in the Indian Section and I loved the Mushroom Vindaloo..

Decent ambience but the food was disappointing. For people who wanna try out there, I'd suggest to go for only indian dishes.
PS. Do not ever order for a steak. It's raw
Have been visiting this place throughout the flow of time for the past couple of years now and it wouldn't be good if I didn't penned down a review for what has to be one of my favorite restaurants in all of Kochi.

Definitely alleviated the restaurant's ambience recently with all the fancy posters of places from around the world. The service and friendliness of the staff is enough to give one a good impression and the variety of the dishes they boast of is definitely bound to leave you frazzled over which dish you would like to feast upon.
In the soup categories wht exists as my essential favorites would be the Vietnamese pho which is their national dish and justice done rightly so, and the ukranian borscht which makes u believe beetroot can be made as an actual quality dish.
In the main course - the Korean beef bulgogi is the one to go for if you feel peckish for some good modern Asian flavors and the Jamaican jerk chicken or the southern fried chicken of USA.
Their Italian dishes and steaks too are promising.

And yes I feel every rupee worth for a satisfying dish which accentuates my taste buds.

Would really appreciate it if they could have an equally special menu made for deserts and their drinks.

Not every dish that they boast of will have it's essential authenicity , but lokah is definitely a very good example as a restaurant which makes it's mark on the ever evolving food map of Kochi.

We visited Lokah for lunch , parking was readily available , arrival experience was great... the menu is a mix of flavours from around the world .... tried the biryani with Salam, chicken tikka , Nasigoreng, Naans, Somtum salad, schezwan fried rice and chicken in black bean sauce....brownie with ice cream , churos and masala tea to finish.... overall great experience , service was excellent .... asked for tender coconut soufflé was not available .... mirchi ka saalan could be better ... somtam tasted good was not authentic otherwise fantastic .. pricing I would say value for money ......considering ambiance , portions , quality and service.Certainly one of the good restaurants in kochi

Wonderful food, great ambience and good service! The menu has a large variety of food from around the world which makes an interesting meal every time. The churro dessert is to die for! Overall great place, 10/10 would recommend.

Prompt service and nice ambience. We ordered a cheese macroni and veg pasta which did justice to their place of origin. Parking facility is also good. I would give 4 out of 5.
So lokahhhh... I really got the word after I went through the menu...the ambience is a wow...I mean you feel like you are about to embark on an exploration and all but sadly it was sort of an anticlimax for me!! I mean the menu was all great but the table in charge could not get us that excited about the food options and since me being a vegetarian,I was just asked chinese or continental... Anyways.. Food was great and the iced tea was great... I liked the self inflating towel and the candle light but I guess..expectation was more...still,proportions could have been generous; my husband's chicken lasagna was tummy filling i suppose but my lebanese dish(forgot the name)had just four halved pita bread and well..(he had fun i guess!)I felt like I was given a ration or something.
The hummus was yummy!!
A one time visit is a ( must?maybe ) well if you dont mind the bill and the guilt ;)
Vijeesh Panakkal
To say about lokah - went at a time of closing but was very friendly behavior
Had a lasagna was yummy and I guess it's best to get from kerala
Filled with meat 😍😍😍😍
And even there roasted chicken with rice was also good
Overall a good experience
Ambience -4./5
Food -4/5
Overall 4/5 should be fare ✌️✌️✌️✌️
The ambience was very nice.it like an old house turned into a restaurant. And the food was average. And car parking was very nice.you have to improve your food quality

My collegues and I was planning to go out to have lunch.Wo do it once every month (we usually go to places where none of us have gone before). We decided to go to lokah. The place was good. Liked the food, the servers as well as the ambience. Not much of a reviewer, but wanted to give a review about this place since one of the servers was quite nice and really loved that guys attitude. Keep up the good work guys!Cheers!!

Bought a Chicken Biriyani today for my friend.
To be frank, she told me it was the worst Biriyani she had till date. Paying 230 rupees for a Chicken Biriyani is ok, if it is worth the money. But my friend was really disappointed with the food.
Shilpa Venugopal
Good food with nice ambiance and very warm service. The place offers a wide range of dishes from around the globe. We tried chicken lasagna, jerk chicken (Jamaica) and polle mole Verde (Mexico) , Hakka noodles and fried rice. Noodles and fried rice was not that good but the rest were really nice and filling. Lasagne offers the perfect blend of cheese and chicken flavors. The gravy of polle mole Verde is a beautiful combination of spices and chicken. Although a bit into costly It is worthy.
Nb : The restaurant closes after 4 and reopen at 7. The timing given is incorrect

It's a total disaster! Lemon mint soda tasted like road side lemon soda. I couldn't find any mint in it. Tum yum add soup and pho beef is a catastrophe. They know nuts about the differences between shrimp and prawns. Nasi goreng is the normal fried rice to them. I don't know how more I can express my disappointment!
Lekshmi Menon
Not to be rude with a review.. I usually do not prefer to add negative reviews but this was just unavoidable as no other restaurant in Cochin disappointed me as much as Lokah! This was one of those restaurant's I went with huge expectations since I am a big fan of international cuisine and I do experiment, source ingredients and cook a few myself... but I was totally disappointed by what they delivered! Their Tom Yum lacked so much flavour... the flavours of Galangal, Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime... and the perfect balance between spice and sour of the actual Tom Yum was just missing! It just plainly tasted like a watery curry soup!!! Being such a fan of steak that is a good cut and is perfectly cooked medium rare.. I was thoroughly gutted. The steak served to me was close to well-done and the cut was, let's just say, clueless! Along with the steak, I went along with the Chimichurri and it was so bland, lacked flavour and was literally drenched in olive oil! My mother ordered Nasi Goreng and what an utter disappointment again!!! The flavour of Nasi Goreng rice.. and this was just the opposite, flavourless.. !! Having been to Indonesia and tasted authentic Nasi Goreng and my absolute love for it over the years, this just broke my heart! There was no sign of Shrimp paste or Sambal Oelek added to the rice!!! My husband's Fish and Chips was a disappointment for him too. I lived in Scotland for many years and this was a 1000 miles close to being authentic! Very disappointed and everytime I pass this restaurant, the disappointment just hits hard!

On a side note, we did not try any of their Indian dishes which could be nice but their international cuisine was not good at all!!

The stars are for the restaurant food and not the cafe. The restaurant serves one of the best steaks in kochi. You have a variety of food to order. But I have had bad experience ordering from the cafe specially the brownies, it tasted really bad.

It looks like an old house turned to a restaurant. We stepped in by around 11 in the night. Though they were planning to close, the entrepreneur lady offered to take one order from us. (thanks to her) We ordered clear chicken soup, a spicy steak and lemon ice tea. Steak and ice tea won our hearts. Never tasted such good ice tea. It really includes the flavor of tea and lemon. Highly recommends the ice tea. A big (y) for the ice tea.

Tasty food and great atmosphere and cleanliness but a bit expensive. A great place and will visit more often. Variety of dishes available and great service.

Great location with good parking space.
Nice Ambience
Very average food.
Tom yum soup was fully loaded with tomatoes.. God it was a punishment to drink.
Next came the blockbuster dish Kothu roti.... ceylon style...Worst... Better to avoid
Me and my friends visited this place as a finale to our study tour. Students cant afford this place. Too expensive. When it comes to quality its good. I ordered cottage pie . Its ground beef with potato mashed topping. First bite good. Third bite I was fed up. May be its the malayali taste bud. I did not Like it . It was too much beef in no so instersting gravy .
My friend ordered mac and cheese, she got bored of that too. Pasta arabiata was good. May be its our taste bud but I wouldnt come
here a second time . Not to my liking.

Actualy we visited the cafe, not the resto! Brownie isn't that great, tasted poor! Had some Sri Lankan dish, Kothu Rotti ! It was Good! Chocolate Sauce also didnt seem to nice! Lassi was also average!
Lokah is known for resto! next time would try the resto!
Ambience 4/5
Hospitality 4/5
Cleanliness 4/5
Taste 3/5
They do have a wide variety of food available here, comparatively. But my experience here wasn't great. I remember having a terrible pita bread, nowhere close to an authentic one. And when i spoke to the server he said that's how a pita bread is!! OKAY!
Pros: location, ample parking
Cons: food is just average and not worth the price.

A small cafe as an extension to their restaurant. I have only been to their cafe..
The selection to the place is quite less and i had a chocolate tart, apple pie., brownie and lemon tea. Their brownie is not moist and dense yet it resembled more of a cake with airated batter which was not i was looking forward to.

But their chocolate tart was worth it.. tart shell was crispy and the chocolate centre resembled more of a molten lava cake.
The place is little hot so i wasn't pleased with their ambiance for sure.

Though this place has been there in existence for quite some time, have been there only twice so far and the gap between the 2 visits is in my fair guess anywhere more than 4 years and consequently, my review is based on my recent visit there. This time around we were quite a few about 13 adults and 5 toddlers.....They were delighted to accomodate the large group into their AC conference room/cordoned off space on the 1st floor, with absolute privacy. The room though doesnt have anything fancy to talk about in ambiance terms, was a blessing for us considering we had as many as 5 toddlers with us (imagine the din they can create) and even though it was a sunday afternoon, it was not all that crowded and resultantly there were no takers for the outdoor (covered with adequate fans) space on the 1st floor and we had that space also to our disposal. So in short an ideal space for a friends/family get-together who wants privacy and also at the same time some space for their kids to breathe. Food wise, even though the menu is in true sense multi-cuisine, none of the people were willing to experiment, as they were all catching up with the rest of the group and the ordering responsibilities were cast upon 2 of us. We decided to keep it confined to mainly Asian and for soup, we called for the Wanton Chicken. The soup was a total flop as a lot of people found it too salty (could have been my bad, i didn't warn them about how it could turn out to be) for their tastes and their portions are extremely limited. For starters, we ordered the Chicken Satay, the Beef Quesadilla and Chicken Quesadilla. The Quesadilla's turned out to be really popular with all enjoying the fillings. For main course we ordered regular chicken fried rice, szechwan chicken fried rice, chicken nasi goreng and chicken hakka noodles along with Pla Lad Prik and the Wok Tossed Beef in Black Bean Sauce. The rice and noodle were really good, but the beef disappointed. However, the item of the day was Pla Lad Prik, which is basically a Thai preparation of Crispy Fish Topped with Chili and Garlic Sauce topped with a lot of veggies. This was liked by all on the table and we could see people licking the sauces off their plates. We also called for quite a few drinks and juices and in my opinion, all of them were nothing but average. I wouldn't give top ratings for the place for the food, but what made us happy was the setting for us that afternoon. I would be definitely recommending this place again to such groups provided they can confirm the availability of the private room and/or exclusive access to the roof top/outdoor space on the 1st floor.

Great ambience and service - very clean.

We tried mostly Kerala food - parottas, molee fish curry and ullali roast was super. Desert was lovely - coconut soufflé and for the adventurous - poached chillies and dry fruit with ice cream.

Nice place to have a quiet lunch. Have been here a couple of times with friends, and every time I'm pleased with the wide variety cuisines that they have to offer. My favourite by far is the cheese steak and ice tea.

Good place to try out different cuisines in a peaceful ambience, although a little on the pricier side

P.s: Do check out their dessert and bakery section which stores homemade cookies.

I like this restaurant for many reasons like their fusion style wide menu, ambience, quality, etc. This is a perfect place to take your family for dinner. Well few dishes are bit over priced and quantity is less

The first time I was at Lokah my wife did not lIke the place as the plates were a bit stinking. Today I was around the corner during lunch time, so thought of trying out the place. The place was 90% occupied, but still the waiters were pretty lively. Although I was more inclined to order something Italian or Mexican, I settled for a sweet corn soup and a biriyani, just to be safe. The soup was excellent and the biriyani was above average. The quantity defines the price. Nice ambience. Surely will be there next time to try the others. I am giving only 4, coz my wife or any other Kerala vegetarian is never gonna visit unless you pump up more Indian Veg dishes.

The waiters were really lively and happy to serve which you rarely see anywhere! The ambience is good. The table size could be a little bigger for 4 people. The quality of food was really good, maybe except the Quesadilla(for my taste)
