Review Maharaja Bhog - Kochi (Cochin)

Arun K Pillai
Noticed this restaurant as I walked across the Food Court searching for a 'different' option. Had heard about this restaurant but never go around to giving it a shot. This time around things were different and I walked right in. Service at this restaurant stands out and was great right from the start. The Ambience is good but I would have liked some more customization. The food was good and tasted authentic. Some thing that would have made the experience much more interesting would have been a description for the different options. Especially the combinations. Recommend this restaurant for good vegetarian food while shopping at Lulu Mall. Do check the sample thali at the door while you walk in - you might not like some of the options on offer. Also make sure you work up an appetite before the meal.

Wow this place serves the best North Indian Thali in kochi. The food is purely vegetarian and offers you the best sitting buffet experience. The taste of the food was superb. The dessert was great as well. The highlight surely is the service quality which is top notch. From hand wash to serving everything is commendable . Anyone who hasn’t tried this and claims to be a foodie should definitely give it a shot even though it’s vegetarian. The varieties will make you come back for more .

This restaurant is kinda unique, it's one of the famous premium veg restaurants. They serve the dishes like any other, we just need to sit our table and all will be served to us there. The quality of the dishes amazing since everything is fresh and top notch moreover everything is unlimited. So it's more like a buffet, all the staffs use sign language for dishes and others while ordering and everyone is so helpful, friendly and very well informed.

Very Nice Rajasthani food. If you are from North India and want to have North Indian food then it is a must visit. It is on 3rd floor of Lulu Mall inside food court. They have fixed charge like 470 per head. You can pay cash or by card. You will get unlimited refills. They give kichri( DAL and rice mix) also. You may like "pitthi wali puri" as its very crispy. Verbally their menu is fix.

Awesome place a veggie If veg food is this good then who would eat nonveg believe me i am a hardcore nonvegetarian Pure rajasthani and gujurati delicacies are bites made in heaven and mouth water aroma of their welcome drink takes you a special place Loved the ambiance and the hospitality Any day any time meals are best here in Lulu mall kochi

Expensive but nice experience...we ate thali...its like we can eat like a maharaja by paying 470 rs...the food is unlimited ...each days the side dishes are different...and worth to taste...service was awesome...

I love this place ,been there twice till now. They only serve veg food here. The food is both tasty and hygenic. The staff is very humble and friendly. The veg buffer here cost 450 ₹ plus tax, which is totally worth. There is no need to make an advance booking except you are going with a big group of people. They try to maintain the ambience with the name , 'maharaja'.The food will be served in brass utensils and the staff dress is also going to have that resemblance.

I bet this is the greatest thali you get in town. You will feel Royal by their service once you're in. They provide unlimited sit-down buffets with table service. Dishes are mainly of Rajasthani and gujarathi cuisines, but nothing like what you get in regular North Indian restaurants in city. Also they have some special offers. The thali will cost you around ₹450+ tax.

Authentic Gujarati & Rajashthani food.. nice ambience, friendly staff.. they also take party/catering orders & take out option too..

I have already had a this type of thali in Bangalore Rajjhdhani Restaurant. They have the same concept. They have also Buy one get one offer on Tuesday. So for me it was same experience as I had have before in the rajdhani hotel. It was an experimental expedition for me with zero knowledge of Gujarati cuisine except for doklas and ghattiyas..i was completely pleased with our experience.. Starting from ambience., hand wash.service, food, everything has a royal touch to it.. Curries had a sweet n spicy taste.. Very much enjoyable.. Don't remember them by name.. All the staff are always a smiling face. Every person is standing near to u & says is there anything else u want. Especially there welcome 🎉drink was awesome. It was an essence of sandle (Chandan) water. Butter milk was thick. Everything was very tasty. But there wasn't a single unpleasant thing in the wholesome thali..
Miliya Parveen
Had the thali for 470rs after tax. Absolutely loved the experience. An assortment of tasty items and curries. Excellent rotis and aloo parathas. Nice cold buttermilk. Unlimited amount of food for an economic price. It's a vegetarian place but the menu changes often and the food is tasty. Must go atleast once. Not many desserts though, just had payasam and kesari which were good.
Jibi Suthan
A North Indians saviour in edapally area, kochi.Great place to have a thaali comprising of a wide range of items.Good quality food, simple taste and prompt service.Truly a Maharaja experiance
Nebu Mathew Abraham
Great north Indian vegetarian Thali. Good ambience. Staff is polite and friendly. Food is unlimited and will be served on the table. Cost is on a higher side per plate. Desert served is really delicious especially the Aamres (mango pulp). Note that there is nothing to be chosen from the menu as they provide only Thali.
Pallavi Yempada
The ambience is very good and the food taste like your typical ghar ka khana. Plus its an all vegetarian restaurant. One good thing about the place is they communicate in signs , so there is no din at all. They offer water to clean your hands before and after. They serve unlimited number of times. However the food is a tad overpriced for the varities offered.
GAURAV SINGH
Perfect buffet for North indian veg food. The ambience along with their service makes it royal combination. Must try atleast once. Price completely worth it, you won't get disappointed. Go and enjoy ..good luck !

Been a big fan of maharaja bhog in Dubai and went in with the same expectation.<br/><br/>It was a Sunday noon lunch and during peak time expect it to be crowded. The restaurant is located in the end of food court that can be easily accessed by escalator or lifts.<br/><br/>Now on to the ambience, we took a small table next a wall partition and I could see cracks and paints chipping from the wall.<br/><br/>The Thali was set quickly as usual. The Rotis and Puris were nice but not outstanding as what is served in Dubai .Ditto for all the Subjis. The service was alright.<br/><br/>For a premium price would expect a better quality and more detail to ambience given that this is a premium brand.

Food is very bad i had dinner their on Valentine day and bad taste of their food destroy our whole mood
Vishnu Biju
Kindly stay away from this place if your intention is good food. I must say, the ambience, cutlery and service does do justice to the name, but definitely not the food.<br/>All the sabjis were bland, without any hint of spice, and at least a gulab jamun is expected as dessert.<br/>Overall i was deeply disappointed after going with a lot of expectations.
Shubham Sharma
Been to Maharajah bhog kochi outlet no. Of times but recently observed that they have detoriated the quality subtantially. I will not recommend this restaurant anymore.
Sufi On Air
I have been an ardent fan of maharaja bhog since I was in Dubai. When I got to know it is here in Cochin also I was tempted to visit the place and how this place lived up to my expectations. The same taste the same hospitality and the same ambience it felt home. So whenever you are in Kochi do not miss out on the chance of visiting maharaja bhog. Maharaja bhog, I have a request to you when will you be opening your outlet in Rajasthan?
Tripurarchana Rayavarapu
Such courteous staff and amazing food! Absolutely loved it!

I have visited this place twice once in 2018. And in 2019. I became a fan on my first visit. The service was good. The attitude was good. And the content was good. But in 2019 it appears they have trimmed down the number of items. Even though the crowd was very less(only few seats occupied) their response was too slow. Upon asking 4th time they bought the item. This made my opinion really bad. For every item we asked, they only bought chapathi.
Lawful Foodie
I really liked the ambiance of the place. The vegetarian thali is delicious. I would definitely recommend vegetarians to visit this place!
Byrack Somasundaram
Quality food, quality service. No hustle n bustle.<br/>Visited twice. Dishes on the menu each day served were different. Anyone wanting to have a peaceful North Indian thali, do try this place. Won't bee disappointed.
Sreenesh R Bhat
A good thali experience. The star among the dishes were Srikant and dhokla. All accompaniment were good. Paneer and the paratha were amazing. Great service and smiling faces .<br/>On Tuesday they offer buy 1 get 1.
Meenu Joseph
I had heard a lot about Maharaja Bhog and decided to finally pay a visit there. As someone who has lived in North India, the thali was really disappointing. In fact I couldn't even find much Rajasthani dishes in the so called Rajasthani thali. The desserts were a major let down. Places like Rajasthan and Gujarat are known for their desserts and this thali was not anywhere close.<br/><br/>However, I liked the Dal Bhati and the rotis here. The service was also exemplary. But the overall food experience was really disappointing. It's not authentic and also extremely expensive.
Kunal Agnihotri
Want to have an authentic north Indian food this is the place to be.As the name suggests it gives you a Maharajah type food which includes Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine. Go an empty stomach ,else you can’t finish the whole thing.<br/>Cost for dinner pp :₹470 and it is worth every penny.<br/>You will love the Kesar water they serve.

(My Hundredth Review should be about the best food I've ever had....) 😍😍<br/>It was the last day of the tournament and we went shopping to Lulu Mall where I discovered this gem of a place. It's located in the food court on the 3rd floor.<br/>The thali is huge and it is really hard to finish all the dishes on the menu😅<br/>Ambience- It's very pleasing with a traditional feel to it.<br/>Service- The servers are continuously on their toes for serving you. Superb Service<br/>The thali had-<br/>Paneer Lifafa- Really good!<br/>Dhokla- soft and delicious<br/>Ragda Pattice- It was delicious but a bit spicy. Couldn't take it for the second time 😢<br/>Rajasthani Sev Tomato- A special delicacy. I don't like it much but here it was good.<br/>Paneer Jalfrezi- Paneer was super soft and the gravy was outstanding. My favorite dish.<br/>Aloo Subzi- It was that punjabi style gravy and was really good.<br/>Malai moong- It was a little bland for my liking.<br/>Moong Dal- Sweet and sour in taste. Good<br/>Kadhi- Marwari style kadhi which was really good.<br/>Roti, tiranga Puri and thepla, all of them were really good.<br/>Fried Papads- good<br/>Kewda Water- Tasted it for the first time and it was really good 👍<br/>The raita and buttermilk were not great. 👎<br/>Apple Basundi- It was good but not great.<br/>Moong Dal Halwa- It had that proper traditional taste which I like. 👌<br/>There were different types of chutneys but I only tried the garlic one which was delicious<br/>Khichdi and pulav were also there but I was too full by this time to have anything else.<br/>This, by far was the best thali I've ever had in my life.<br/>The prices were Rs. 447+ tax per thali for dinner.<br/>

Maharaja Bhog truly justifies its name and offers a dining experience fit for a Maharaj/rani. I've visited the place 3 times till date. The unlimited thali, good ambience and professional service made the price of ₹470 completely worth it during the first two visits (June 2019) when the waiters kept refilling all the dishes including the farsan and breads regularly.<br/><br/>However, during the third visit (Oct 2019), service was almost non existent. I had to repeatedly ask for dhokla after which it was served rather reluctantly. I asked for rotla at least thrice and they served another roti instead and it was so off putting that we didn't ask for anything more, finished whatever little was served and left. The thali certainly wasn't worth the price which prompted the change of rating from 4 to 3 after this visit.<br/><br/>They have a variable menu. A selection of what we were served is as follows.<br/><br/>FARSAN : Sandwich dabela dhokla, masala dhokla, aloo stuffed besan fritters and circular plain dhokla with a side of green chutney, chilli chutney, moong dal and mango pickle. The dabeli dhokla was rather hard, the fritters were quite ordinary, the yellow dhokla was soft, moist and delicious.<br/><br/>We were also served a chaat dish (thali 1) which was good and a beetroot dahi bhalla (thali 2) which was absolutely deeeliicious. The dahi bhalla is the best thing I've had from Maharaja Bhog and I ended up having 3 servings of it.<br/><br/>CURRY/SUBZI : Ivy ghord dry subji, palak corn paneer, aloo subji, ghatte ki subji, rajasthani Khadi, moong dal curry. All the dishes were tasty. Ghatte ki subji, bhaigan bartha and moong dal were absolutely delicious and stood out from the rest. The Buttermilk was okay.<br/><br/>BREADS : Tepla, Puri, Roti, Rotla. The rotis were incredibly soft and fresh. The puris were ordinary. The Tepla was very hard. Both the puris and rotis were made to order which is commendable. The rotlas were by far the best Indian bread I've had as part of their thali but it was such a pity that they couldn't be bothered to serve it again.<br/><br/>DESSERT : Dry fruit Basundi, Moongdal Halwa, Churma, Kheer. The Halwa and kheer were ordinary. Basundi was tasty but a little too sweet for my liking. Churma was delicious.<br/><br/>They also serve rice, curd rice, pulao, khichdi and a delicious saffron sharbat. The khichdi is quite average.<br/><br/>Overall, it was a good dining experience the first two times and rather bad in terms of service, the third time.

As the name suggests, its a grand dining experience. Happy staff and good food. Even the chutnies stand apart in taste. The buttermilk helps you switch flavours. Definitely a feel good place. Must expect nothing less for the price. Quality in splendid.

It was a nice experience and food was very tasty specially for Rajasthani and Gujrati food lovers.<br/>From welcome juice to desert in the end very good was very hygienic . And ambience was also good.

Honestly to start with, I'm not a great fan of vegetarian restaurants and meals but my friends suggested this place and said this place is a must try. The restaurant on my first sight itself had a very pleasant look and the aroma made me feel even more hungry. They have different menus each day and they never repeat in a month which is so cool.<br/><br/>Every single item that was served on my plate was super tasty and fulfilling, they plates they serve and the glad they provide, starting from the welcome drinks to the dessert everything was amazing and it didn't feel like I missed out on chicken. I'd happily go back again and again to this place for their hearty meals! ♥️<br/><br/>P.S: I didn't wait to take a proper picture of the food.

Excellent customer service skills and experience by Shri Om Singh ji at Maharaja Bhog, Lullu Mall Kochi. They prepared Jain food for us. Super....

Looking for Grand Thali Meals in the Kochi, this is the place you should try. Menu changes every day. On Tuesdays they have a buy one get one offer too. Don't miss those small roties they serve with jaggery & butter. It's yum. I loved the different kadhis they served also the kesar sherbat!

I go there again and again...in love with the food here.<br/>Chandan water:6/5 for me it is so refreshing<br/>Buttermilk:5/5 just perfect<br/>Thali buffet: kadhi,Aalo and there paranthe, dhohla along with lovely chutney and many more dishes.<br/>Kheer:5/5<br/>Halwa:5/5<br/>A Must place for north Indian food.

For some of the veggies there and who is in love with North Indian thali, here it is! Authentic Rajasthani & Gujarathi thali!! Whoa wait, it is UNLIMITED THALI!! It's a one Indian traditional meal you are not likely to forget. Everyday the menu keeps changing. Let me start with the service 1st, because these people just took my heart. It was my mom's bday and I called them just to enquire if there is any problem if we could cut the birthday cake. They were like, no problem at all. Just before the cake cutting, they played the birthday music and all the staff came around us, wished together! Really touching it was. Even while serving, they were so concerned and made sure that we were satisfied with the food. Thank you so much for the amazing service.<br/>Now coming to the food, I don't remember the names of some dishes that was being served, but everything was having way too different flavours. Really loved the starters, drinks, kichidi, Puri(small & cute), makki di roti, bindi masala (list is too big). Since some were new to me or may be I m not so used to such flavours, felt a bit odd. But overall it was a wonderful experience. The copper plates and glasses were lovely. The kheer and makkai ki halwa(Cornhalwa) was way too good!!❤️<br/><br/>#foodexplorer #loveexploring #loveforfood #foodie #foodpics #foodphotography #foodgasm #foodporn

If you're interested to have a good quality Gujarati or Rajasthani food, this is the place to be at! Authentic food backed by good quality service.

For all those vegans out there in Kochi - Maharaja bhog is a must try. As the name suggests, they treat us as Maharajas (seems interesting) right from the hand wash to the food served. The food is exceptional and tasty. They serve as the premium veg thali of Rajasthan and is a bit costly too. They fill our tummy unless we say enough..
Arjun Krishnakumar K
Maharaja bhog definitely stands for the authentic Rajasthani thali and they did deliver. Loved all the dishes. One thing though there should be little improvement in service as we had to call each time or maybe it's peak time.

Well after the all day rotation around the kochi orbit i finally found my satellite here in Maharaja bhog, located in lulu mall.<br/>Oh yes it served as a black hole, i was so pulled up to it. So beautiful well decorated, elegant interiors and the fact that it's a Gujarati/Rajasthani thali restaurant in kochi with no compromise on quality quantity of food.<br/>It awakes the gujarati/Rajasthani in you, even if u aren't<br/>😁<br/>The welcome was so great, as was the service as was the food, eat as much as you like/can. 😉<br/>I wish i could visit it again..<br/>..Highly recommended..<br/>Bon Appétit 😊<br/>

Go and grab the typical premium Veg Thali, it’s absolutely tasty😋 as well as costly I repeat it’s very costly for a veg thali and I’m damn sure that this is not for ordinary people because it costs around ₹500 😯😤for a single veg thali and one thing I went here because I got a free food voucher🥳 otherwise I can’t, and about the food, it’s really luxurious from the very beginning till the end, full of varieties side “curries” I don’t know the name even😂 but I like the real “Mango🥭 pulp” just WOW! Because I can feel the thickness of mango in it, and like one sweet too I think🤔 it’s “Kesari” and I like there hospitality style and the important thing is, I’m in love🥰 with there copper plates 🍽 bowl🍵 and the glass🍷 just something else. And check out this: https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3ODYwNzI5NDc0MjUxMzIy/

Another rare 5 star from me for the royal thaali from Maharaja Bhog, at Lulu Mall. While the food was definitely yummy, it was the service that captured my heart. I felt well attended to, relished the lovely food, and I was reminded of how lovingly I was fed in my childhood... And I, who am a pretty strict non-tipper, ended up leaving a big tip (by my standards!). Tummy khush, dil ekdam khush!<br/>I couldn't pick a favorite dish because everything was quite good. But what impressed me was their khichdi - coz I don't usually like khichdi, and this I took three servings of! A vegetarians' paradise for sure!

I never knew even veg food can be this much delicious.... It was first time to try these new veg dishes... Plz do try once... U will start falling in luv with veg.. And i must say their customer service is tooo good.. !!

Good Northern Indian vegetarian food. The moment you walk in you can feel their hospitality. They basically serve a North-Indian thali with the menu changing everyday. We were served a chaat item first, then came another round of snacks, similar to samosas. After that they served us 4 types of Sabjis, 2 types of dal and phulka and kitchadi. They had a couple of dessert items too. Food was unlimited. We could order what we liked again. I’m giving them 3 stars only because their AC wasn’t working properly.

i like maraja thali of maharaja bhog the food was excellent food and iam verry happy to get like this service from this restaurant and today was offer also 1 by 1

The food I'd give a 5 star rating anyday, it was just too delicious. But you really need to work on service.. a smile doesnt hurt.. and since you have soo many dishes, it would've been nice if someone explained the combinations the diahes are eaten in, or if thats too much trouble atleast leave a bookletz etc.<br/><br/>They bring you a water bowl to wash your hands in, before and after your meal, followed by huge copper plates with small bowls, glasses of drinks, and one by one your bowls get filled with different curries. It's a good mix of rajasthani and gujju diahes, dhoklas, kheer, chaats, thepla, makki di roti, halwa and the list goes on.<br/><br/>The staff will keep coming in for refills, and chances are that if you go with a group you're going to be spending a lot of time there...eating.<br/><br/>Overall, good experience, amazing food. TOO overpriced.
Nikhil Varma
We had a wonderful vegetarian thali, along with some real royal service. Various welcome drinks, various starters, crunchers, chappathis, rice and various deserts. Go in with your stomach empty.

Finally I went to Maharaja Bhog, no wonder why people go to this place so frequently, it's AMAZING. If you want to want to have unlimited thaali - this is the place. Their menu keeps changing everyday. The food is soo delicious that even the daal tastes so good!<br/>And the staff, each and every one of them is soo humble, with perfect ambience.<br/>(I never went to this place before as I always opted for non-veg over veg, but this is a must try!)
Zam Shajan
Wanted to experiance how Maharaja bhog is in Cochin so curiously went to try them .<br/><br/>It was decent enough, staff were pleasant and proactive but I must say there wasn't a wow factor in their dishes.<br/><br/>I expected each dish to be original to their own and this was missing . Considering how much is charged for a Thali meal ( approx INR450), I feel they have to do lotta of work to make it a distinct vegetarian food experiance.<br/><br/>It a one time visit and may be again.
Tanuja Karki Chhetri
Pros<br/>This is an ultimate place for all the vegetarian people in cochi. They serve amazing Rajasthani food. The staff are very generous when it comes to filling yours plates.<br/><br/>It has a fixed menu but the amount of food you eat and the quantity of the items on your plates is like a gala event.<br/><br/>The place is neat and tidy.<br/><br/>The prices are very affordable hence you can invite all your friends and have a big feast without a bump in your pockets 😉
Black_Beard
Dine like the Kings, that's the feel when you have dinner from this place. Fancy plates and cutleris ignite the feel for sure.  However I am giving 4 stars because I feel like the service quality can be improved a bit more especially the smiling / greeting part. It was my first time and I was a bit confused on what to eat first and how to eat and where to start kinda. I have seen slight awkward smiles from the staffs seeing my puzzled face. Instead of that if you guys could help out your patrons, explaining things when they are confused, you will get 5 star guys. Well its not a complaint about services, but a suggestion thats all. <br/><br/>Now the food is exceptional, very close enough to what I have experienced in Rajastan and all thumbs up to that. The small poori served with Jaggery and butter, that's a killer - wow !!Well I am not a vegetarian experts to give reviews but for me everything was nice and tasty, will be back there soon with family.
Saira Feroz
The food is awesome...first place in kochi which serves pure Rajasthani cuisine..I visit there almost every month..eventhough the food is quite expensive...compared to other hi fi restaurants..the staff is quite friendly which makes me visit there...
Mariam Christopher Laffernis
Scrumptious Rajasthani style lunch! It’s an experience 🤤👍🏻 each dish has an unique flavour and it’s served piping hot! The small thava parathas and spicy lentils was my fav!
Krishna Narayanan Ozhakkanat
I'm a frequent visitor here since my mom is a vegetarian & it's one of the few places in Kochi where they serve decent vegetarian food. It's a huge meal and has more than 20 dishes and each of them are tasty & perfect. The dishes may seem normal to people from Gujarat Rajasthan and all but it's a novelty to Keralites.<br/><br/>It's not a place for people who primarily prefer non veg foods.<br/><br/>Their hospitality needs mentioning. They are so welcoming and they serve as much as you want of anything. It's a bit costly and hence I'm giving only 4 stars.<br/><br/>Ambience - 5/5<br/>Food - 4.5/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Cleanliness - 5/5
Devr
Went with lots of expectations and ended up disappointed. We were not even served the rice until I asked, and some crunchy stuff they were serving in other tables. Felt totally ignored with the first serve. Then after a while more rotis and pooris came. It was our first time and had no idea how everything works. But, hey, enjoyed the hand wash ;) A costly disappointment.
Arpit Augustine
Giving 4 star because it's unique. I have tried Rajasthani cuisine in Jaipur and have to admit it it's not upto that level but it's not that bad neither. Every day the menu changes so you might love the food one day but probably be not that content the next day. The Aamras is epic.<br/>They keep on feeding you even when you ask them to stop. They literally you like maharajas
Zaheen Muhd
Top Class Restaurant that serves quite a satisfying food.<br/>It has got great service and is a bit expensive for our pockets. Great ambience and good food for vegetarians. A must visit to all the vegans in kochi it will satisfy your tummy.

Being in Kochi for longer than I can recollect, it's possibly difficult to miss out on Lulu Mall. For the past many months, I have had many a meals at Maharaja Bhog which adds a certain level of uniqueness to the Lulu Mall itself. Surprisingly, it is now that I sit down to review all of it.<br/><br/>A gracious 'Namasté' at the entrance and you're escorted to your table. Someone gets a big copper bowl to you and pours in water to let you wash your hands. A welcome drink (a saffron concoction) follows. And then comes a wide host of dishes that I never have the stomach to eat all and I go in for a few of my favs - a blend of sweet and spicy, rajasthani and gujarati, North and South, different Indian breads cooked to perfection, halwa and the buttermilk, all of which you can gorge on to your heart's and appetite's satisfaction.<br/><br/>Apart from the food, I'm really fond of the staff, all of whom are smiling young lads ready to explain you what the food is all about, and very often giving you the friendly 'aur lijiye' nudge that'll remind you of 'that relative' who ensured you're full before getting up from the dining table.<br/><br/>Overall, it's a good place if you want to eat something from all of India - traditional, authentic and economical. Would recommend it to those who look out for authentic North Indian cuisine and to the expats who might want to taste all of India in one palate.

this place is simply awesome. . the best north indian food. service is great.they will be happy to feed us. manager takes care of each n every table on his own. its v nice.
Pmnarayanan1961
We were hoping to order a la carte, but they said they have only Rajasthani and Gujarati thalis, that too unlimited. Finally we ordered their mini thali, which was mainly 2 mini sized Chappathis, lots of plain rice, and two tiny portions of paneer and aloo curry (₹250). Rather disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend to locals hoping for a satisfying Rajasthani meal.<br/>Narayanan

I am really happy that I visited this place.....we have been in kochi for at least 20 days and we needed some different kind of food cuisine....finally we went to Lulu mall and tried this place out....<br/>when we reached "MAHARAJA BHOH" they welcomed us with a formal namaste and directed us to our table....the ambience was very nice.....<br/>their service was a unique one....after we were comfortable on our seats they offered us some sweet fragrant water and food was served...<br/>we tried their veg thali...which consisted of number of food items...starting from Dal to paneer and halwa as desert......I loved their buttermilk and halwa....<br/>I think this best veg thali you can have around kochi...and you can have unlimited food serves to your heart's content....<br/>overall it was a nice experience and I was really happy with their service...<br/>must try place!!!!<br/><br/>

Absolutely love this place. As the name goes, you can really eat like a king here. It's the best veg thali available. It's a delightful experience right from the saffron water to the dessert.<br/>The staff are very courteous and just waiting to fill up your thali. You really can have to your heart's content. A must visit place.<br/>

Eat like maharaja.<br/>Had one of the best veg-thali<br/>Taste was excellent.<br/>Service was good.<br/>Went with family and they all loved it.<br/>Guys if going to lulu mall just visit this wonderful place.

One of the best veg outlet in Lulu Mall... food and service is excellent. Very rarely do you feel that your tummy and heart is full.........
The Food Guy
Maharaja Bhog used to stand for a certain level of quality and service which I used to value paying for. But sad to say my most recent experience was rather ordinary driven by their poor service.<br/><br/>To start they were in a hurry to serve each and every item in a single go. Usually I have had the experience where they serve starters first followed by main course. But here I was served with all the items including rotis before I had a mouthful of starters.<br/><br/>The other issue was I was served ghee rotis whereas I had asked for plain. The person who served asked me to pass it on to someone else on the table when I told him I wanted plain. He seemed to be irritated by my ask rather than try to give me what I wanted.<br/><br/>The other instance this happened with Dal Bhati when the person added ghee to my Dal Bhati. But he was kind enough to change it for me.<br/><br/>While the food is good, I must say going when the restaurant is full is not the best idea. Service needs to become a lot better for them to become a good restaurant in Kochi.

Having tasted a lot of Gujarati Thali, i wanted to try Maharaja Bhog and i can definitely say it is absolutly worth a try.<br/>The menu changes everyday so theres a lot of variety to try out.<br/>The staff are really friendly and helpful.<br/>The food was delish. I ate so much ,to the point where i would puke ,because it was that good.<br/>The shrikand was just too irresistable.<br/>Definitely a place to try out especially with family.

Definitely worth trying once in a while for a change. A large spread of vegetarian North Indian thali with great service. Food menu varies but has always been upto the mark. Worth a try for a pure non vegetarian and a heaven for vegetarians.

This was my favourite veg Restaurant.<br/>But this time it was quite disappointing.<br/>Food was below average and too spicy.<br/>Napkins which were given to us were smelling of oil.<br/>Need lot of improvements and need to maintain consistency in terms of food.<br/>

Im very picky with veg food. Ive had authentic thali meals from Rajasthan and I wasnt impressed then. Add the fact that Im a staunch non vegetarian and I didnt expect much from this place.<br/><br/>But after polishing off my plate and having second and third helpings, its safe to say that I was completely wrong about my expectations. The afternoon thali meal was incredible, the staff are friendly and the portions are huge. The clash of different tastes of veg fare was a welcome change from the usual meals I was used to as a malayali and really shocked the palate.<br/>The only reason you could have for not eating at this place daily is that the food is so tremendously rich and the portions too generous. Its not safe for your belt but youll never leave this place unsatisfied.<br/>Make sure you have a hearty appetite and a large group of friends to help.<br/>10/10. Would visit again with family.

Wonderful and authentic is what you get at this thali style restaurant where there's a pre set menu for the day and north Indian dishes arrive piping hot in quick succession. Steady service and delicious food with reasonable pricing. Make sure to visit on a lazy afternoon and fill up your tummy with some great food.

Slightly overrated. <br/>The ambience is good. Service is excellent. They serve you everything again and again until you say 'enough'.<br/>Food can be a bit more tasty. Have had better Gujarathi thali for lesser price.

My family and friends had raving reviews about this place that I thought I should visit them when I was here last weekend - was restricted to vegetarian due to navratri; so this seemed like an ideal fit. <br/><br/>Ambience<br/>The walls are fit with wooden boxes, each with a different spice in it. Otherwise well synced with their theme and thali plate. <br/><br/>Service<br/>Patchy, some servers and the items they carried came sooner than the others. The manager also seemed to check for refills only towards the end - probably a strategy to optimise seat allocation for subsequent walk-ins. <br/><br/>I have been to several comparable restaurants across India and hospitality is the central to dining experience at such restaurants; some how failed to experience this here. <br/><br/>Pricing<br/>Definitely not commensurate to the spread or experience. <br/><br/>Food<br/>Had no idea what kadala curry was doing in a rajasthani/gujarati thali; and without the two critical elements - ghatte ki sabji and dal bhatti churma I wonder how this could be called so. <br/><br/>Possibly, its the effort to make it suitable to the Kerala crowd that caused this disconnect. <br/><br/>What tasted good: <br/>1. Malpua was crispy fried and sinful<br/>2. Spring roll/ starter with their house chutneys<br/>3. Khadi<br/>4. Aloo lehsun curry<br/><br/>What tasted bad:<br/>1. Rice kheer<br/><br/>Other improvements - Spread could have had more starters/desserts. <br/><br/>On a summary note, this restaurant failed to impress me.

From what I have heard about Rajasthani cuisine, I guess this is closer to a normal cuisine (barring exceptional stuff like ghatte ki sabji or daal- baati choorma). <br/><br/>Purely vegetarian - so do not expect to bite into luscuous meat. Sorry. <br/><br/>The plethora of dishes served is a huge one. You start with some pakodas / bhajias with different type of chutnies (green, red and white) and fryums like papad, then they serve you dal, rajma, bhindi (ocra) ki sabji (ocra masala), potato curry, some lentil curry, 2 other leafy sabjis, and phulkas which were piping hot. <br/><br/>At the start they served some sweet tasting sharbat (juice), no idea what it was. <br/><br/>Then there are unlimited phulkas, papad, pakodas, bhajis that are served till you are content with it. <br/>Would rather have you stick on to phulkas than the pakodas or bhajis...more nutritious you see?<br/><br/>They serve you with rice (2 types - both yellowish and sort of sticky. A generous spoon of ghee was poured on it) - I did not like it much, maybe not used to that kind of rice. <br/>Not their mistake. <br/><br/>Finally they serve you some gulab jam and buttermilk to polish off the meal. Again it is unlimited. Hog / drink as much as you can. I had just one of each, not more.<br/><br/>Overall, the concept is that they keep serving you until you say STOP.  I have heard they change the menu everyday (?). It was INR 400 in August 2016, no idea how much is it now. Slightly more I guess. <br/><br/>But for that kind of price the quality of food was not extraordinary, just about normal. Should have been worth some good dishes, typically from Rajashtan. <br/>If you want to fill your stomach for the kind of money you spend, then this is a good place to be. <br/><br/>Will I go again? Maybe, if it is worth taking the shot.<br/> :)

Last night, we decided to have a vegetarian meal for a change and headed to Maharaja Bhog since we'd heard great things about the place, and I must say that all the praise was well deserved. Even though we've tried bits of marwari cuisine before, it was our first time trying out a more elaborate spread and by all means, it was delicious and we were left wishing we had left a bit more space in our tummies. The service was quick, the staff courteous and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well maintained. The Premium Veg Thali costs Rs.450/- per person including taxes, which I suppose is a bit overpriced for veg food but I guess the high standard of the food and the great service makes up for it. Would definitely go there again!
Raghum13
Excellent!! We had a royal lunch indeed. Though being non veg lovers we decided to go for a pure veg thali and Maharaja Bhog did not disappoint us. Would love to go back for more. Please visit only when you are really hungry 😊

Been to the restaurant yesterday for late lunch. Def not like the ones in Mumbai. As you enter the resturant you have a weird smell that puts you off. <br/><br/>The food was the std thali with the chaas and the sharbt etc. Staff friendly thou a Lil slow compared to the other maharaja bhogs. <br/><br/>Overall an ok experience.
The_munching_rover
Not worth spending 450 for a thali with no wow element.. It was an okay one time experience with all the dishes just average (ok enough to eat) that's it. Don't know why so much hype for such a place. May be it's just coz Kochi lacks good vegetarian outlets.

One of the best Gujarati food restaurants in Cochin city, we spend one week in this city but not found any good restaurants like this, pure test and wonderful service by their staff, there is many other good places for enjoy dinner in cochin but I recommend this place for Gujarati and pur.veg people.

Walked in like a normal person👱, walked out like a princess 👸<br/>Royal Place with great food , great ambience and great hospitality! <br/>A typical Rajasthani-Gujrati place where the best quality cuisine is served. Special mention goes to the Sandalwood-Saffron Welcome Drink, Dry Fruits Basundi, Jalebi (so crispy, so fresh - to die for) Mix Paneer, Sabu Dana Pakoda, all types of Chutneys!! Even their cutlery is special and has a royal outlook. After all who else but the royals eat in brass 😍. Waiters were super prompt and we didn't have to wait for anything. The Jalebi bearer was the best of all. He went on on and on and on serving jalebi. 😍😍😍<br/>New years day has been made 😍😘<br/>#Maharajabhog #Royalfood #yummyinmytummy #thali #vegthali #eatkochieat #happynewyear #newyeardineout #foodtalkindia #foodporn #foodieinmaking #foodgasm #foodcoma #manipalman #manipalmanisho

When I saw Maharaja Bhoj in Lulu Mall, I was so excited but in a doubt if get the same taste or not because most of the restaurant claimed to be a north style or Rajasthani food are still far away from the real taste what you get in those states. It's basically the same Kerala taste will never be same in North or in other places. I was wrong they have the same taste and belive me they will keep serving you till you are full after having chapatis, next is rice and Gujrati Kichadi after that. Please keep room for sweet dishes too. I will be visiting again with my family soon.

Eat Well Live Well
There was much talked restraurant in lulu mall. I visited Maharaja bhog with my mom. We ordered two thalis. The quantity of katori may be around 100-150 gm. Two different cuisines were served. Gujrati and rajasthani and pinch of south india. Though the attendant kept a hawk eye on food we eat so that while eating i dont have to raise my head and call for food. They keep coming at me with food which is not on my thali. Bajre ki roti was too small that of size of bangle. Rotis were of wheat, soft and hot. We ask to serve khicdhi which was not served for quite some time. One blunder they made. They served cold halwa. On raising the concern, the senior attendant quickly take away the halwa and ask waiter to change. The second time also they served the cold halwa. This was too much for us who paying rs 450/- per thali(unlimited). Then senior attendant himself take the halwa and return with hot one. Although the way of talking of attendant to serving waiter was rude and not appreciable. <br/>Overall the ambience is good, food of top quality but in terms of value for money, it should be between 200-300 plus the this will be good eating only for largest/biggest appetite and not for appetites of kingfisher models. <br/>Overall one star for ambience, one star for service, one star for quantity and one star for quality but minus half star for bad communication between staff infront of customers.

I was tried meal box worth 199. Really disappointed. I will not recommend for peoples who love south indian food. I don't know this was the real north indian taste

In love with this gem of a place... Was so happy to c an authentic Rajasthani thali in Kochi. Everything from the interiors, serve ware, staff, service and food are amazing. The food just keeps on flowing in unlimited until you can take it no more. The menu varies throughout the month, which is another reason to dine there more frequently.

A restaurant that will certainly not disappoint you in terms of taste and ambiance . The delicacies offered here are in varieties and all taste delicious. The quality of service offered here is remarkable too. I m sure u won't leave until u r stomach full.

The name says it all. Got a chance to visit it with my friend. Loved the ambience and the staffs were pleasing. <br/>Everyday they have a different menu. We had a great time there and my favorite was the welcome drink. Had a lot of it. <br/>Looking forward to my next visit /new menu.

Maharaja Bhog is one of the very few places in the city where you can enjoy authentic North Indian food. They have a decent variety of dishes in their thali and they keep changing the dishes on a daily basis also. The place has a very good ambience and service is also on par with the best.Special mention to the welcome drink(forgot the name) apple halwa and the Dry fruit Basundi which were heavenly. All the items in the thali had a wow factor to them. But at around Rs 450,I feel it is a bit overpriced for the number of dishes they have on offer. It would be good if they could bring more main course dishes like rice or pulao into the thali.Overall it is a unique dining experience worth trying where you get treated like a King right from the word go.Highly recommended.

I had already shared my review of Maharaja Bhog (Powai Outlet) earlier this year. With similar expectations I had gone into the one in Ernakulam. To be honest, I was not disappointed, although I did have doubts regarding the authenticity of the taste here in Kerala. <br/>The ambiance was the same and the food was good enough, though I still consider the Powai one better.

Gud ambience n service.Taste Gud.but not up-to the mark.Sure Waste of money. Not all worth to what we pay.too expensive.According to us we will not recommend to any one.

This restaurant is worth visiting just for the experience of dining here. Step in and you shall be greeted by the fashionably dressed waiters. Once you take your seat, you assume the position and receive the service that a 15th century king visiting a Rajput kingdom would get. The food is served on brass and is cooked in the authentic Marwadi style. There is a fixed menu and all items served under it are unlimited. The food is good, nothing to write home about. Overall, a really good experience.
Akshay Shah
It's a typical Rajasthani thali place with grand ambience and royalty like service. The unlimited thali has fixed menu for different days of the week and includes 2 sabjis, dal, kadi, one amazing rajasthani/Gujarati sweet and snack among other things. Go super hungry and have the best north indian meal in Kochi.
Anup Nair
The buffet spread has reduced a bit and price has gone up. The quality of food is still good and staff is as always courteous.<br/><br/>Can't say its value for money as there are other restaurants in the city which gives non veg options as well for the same price

We were delighted with the service by the staff. Delicious lunch. They had so many varieties in lunch. Loved every bit of it. It was indeed a Maharaja Thali. <br/><br/>Thank you Maharaja Bhog

Went to maharaja bhog @lulu mall with my bestie for lunch.<br/><br/>A man came with a golden kettle of water and a container. We had to wash our hands in that! <br/>Then people came one-by-one to serve us. We got butter milk and saffron water as welcome drink. It was a huge thali with around 22 dishes. They keep changing the menu every day. Now you know it was really a feast for a Maharaja!<br/><br/>Ambience is good and excellent service. The ultimate veg thali experience in kochi. (Y)

Wanna feel like a Maharaja? Look no further, just fine at Maharaja Bhog.<br/><br/>I've never been a huge fan of vegetarian thali but this is something. This restaurant has managed to plate the best of Rajasthani and Gujarati delicacies and its mouth watering !!<br/><br/>Definitely one place every foodie in town must hit.

While return from Lakshadweep we visited Lulu mall and afternoon lunch we had at this place. This is exact copy of Rajdhani restaurant in Bangalore similar taste and thali option.<br/><br/>Food is definitely tasty but might find little expensive (for veg food 420/- per head) there are quite a lot eating options in the food court.<br/><br/>Visited January 2017

The food was excellent and especially service by staff was Gud.... the price is also not much. Ambience is nice and different recipe every day makes u come back again n again.

An average veg thali: nothing premium about it. There was hardly any outstanding dish in the thali that I had. Even the dal bati churma was below average. Only the cutlery was good. I was  disappointed with the desserts. They didn't serve even the normal north Indian dal papad or achaar, it was rice fried papad. A decent thali should also serve a salad, which was missing here. You have to keep calling the guys who serve. Overall, a below average experience on a Sunday afternoon!
AdiJ
A typical Rajasthani/Gujrati place where top quality cuisine is offered. The food is very good. Special mention goes to the Sandalwood-Saffron Welcome Drink, Dry Fruits Basundi, Mix Paneer, Sabu Dana Pakoda, all types of Chutneys!! Their cutlery is also very nice. The setup of the restaurant is also very good. I have been to similar concept restaurants in Bangalore/Kolkata/Pune but I feel only problem of this place is that the service is too quick. Everything is served in one go. I would prefer spending more time and relishing everything what I eat in these kind of places rather than hurrying through my food.

My mom loves the thali here. It's for those who love North Indian Thali. I am not a big fan of it. The food and ambience may be good but the whole package did not impress me especially the price of 410 rupees for the veg thali. It's like purchasing a business class ticket for a domestic sector for having a few inches more of leg space. This one is not for me. Sorry.
Navin B
Good food...only unlimited thali available here...they keep on changing their menu daily..Service is very good..authentic experience of Gujarati-Rajasthani thali

Royal Place with great food , good ambience and great hospitality! Its a must visit for everyone! It will cost 415rs including tax per head! its slightly expensive, but its pretty cool! Every Thali lovers are supposed to explore food from here! you guys will definitely love this! ✌

One-of-a-kind restaurant in Kochi. The unlimited North Indian thali meals and the unmatched hospitality makes it truly worth dining.<br/>We have been here twice. Once when the restaurant was opened and yesterday lunch, for the second time. <br/>Everything, right from the Starter snacks till the desserts are super tasty. The Ambience, decor are really nice. The hospitality is remarkable., and they do charge a 10% service charge for that, wch is worth it. <br/>"Aam Ras" was served as dessert when we went there initially, that was awesome. Since they have 30 different menu, we couldn't get it this time. <br/>It is charged around Rs.380/ person.<br/>Worth dining!
