Review Sardarji Ka Dhaba - Kochi (Cochin)

Rugved Tandel
One of the best restaurants in kochi to have North Indian food. Located near the metro station. The food is moderately expensive but it's all worth it given the quality and quantity. You can enjoy authentic Punjabi food here . The ambience is kept very simple and minimal which is good. Good for a family outing They have a separate private party Hall for personal or official events .

If you're looking for North Indian restaurants then this one is a good option for you. The place is kept very neat and tidy. The food was good but I felt the price was a bit high. There is a high seating capacity. We had lunch here and it was not at all crowded. I guess valet parking is available.

A delightful restaurant which I would highly recommend for authentic Punjabi food in the heart of Eranakulam. From the butter garlic naans to the Amritsari chicken to the Lamb roganjosh, it was truly a delightful culinary and rustic experience!

The veg mixed tandoori platter of their's is a must try 😍 you get a tandoori aloo, mushroom, veg seekh and paneer tikka (4nos) in it.. The food here is bit expensive but the quantity of food is top notch 😍😋👌🏻.

Great place to have vegetarian Punjabi and Jain cuisine. They have plenty of options to choose from and the food is splendid. They maintain a very clean restaurant throughout, even during peak hours and the waiters are polite, helpful and do a great job. I tried the Garlic Naan which was really nice and would suggest it to anyone, and Paneer Tadka which was plenty for two people and delish. The paapad served as an appetizer was something which I really like. There is parking behind Chiyang which is easy to find and close by.

This is a very good place in Kochi for vegetarian North indian food. They have seating for pure vegetarians on ground floor and veg and mom veg both on first floor. We went there for dinner on a Saturday and the ground floor was full. We sat on first floor as it was half empty. The decor is that of a Punjab village, the service was quick but for some reason they brought the lemon soda too late. They didn't take much time in bringing the food items. There is valet parking available, they allow you to order only after you are seated at a table, not before that. It's a good place for a family outing. Worth a try. Pros - Location, Valet parking, food Cons - They don't have an elevator so there is no wheelchair accessibility to first floor.

Food taste really good (Sardarji Ka Dhaba Pure Veg). We tried Vegetable biriyani , Kadai paneer, butter nan. The price seems bit on high end. Also parking option is limited. Other wise it is really great and recommended to those who want to try new "veg" taste in town.

Nice food and space. Quantity is just great. Service and valet parking is available. The must try are reshmi kababs and butter chicken. All digital payments are accepted.

Excellent service, great food. I am visiting Kochy and had not expected to find such authentic vegetarian north Indian food. It was a Sunday afternoon and after time spent at the beach, we were hungry. Sardarji Ka Dhaba met and surpassed expectations. The paneer dishes, the vegetable preparations, the appetizers, the ginger lemon drink, the mango lassi and the sweet lassi, the pulav and the raita, the garlic naan, the aloo paratha and the lachcha paratha - all awesome.

I was exploring some fine punjabi restaurants, where I found this Sardarji Ka Dhaba with decent reviews in Google. So went there around 9pm with my cousin. Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decent environment for families. Food ordered: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When you go to a table, You can see papads in a bowl. Then onions, mint chutney and pickle in small containers. The previous said food items are non billable and will be filled every time you have completed them. After settling down, we ordered tandoori rotti, tandoori chicken half and Amritsari chicken masala for the rotti after going through the menu. Later we had Lassi. Quantity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chicken masala quantity was enormous and more than sufficient for 2. Max 4 people can have that chicken masala for 1 rotti (2 pieces) each. Quantity wise I’m very much satisfied. Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You can expect the authentic punjabi taste which is really drool-worthy. You will the satisfaction of having a tasty punjabi food. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quick service and very humble waiters who will be around you every time to meet your ask. Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is pretty much higher but worthy if you really are crawling for tasty punjabi food.

Date of Visit 21.04.2023 Being a North Indian, we visited the place to enjoy the punjabi taste. Food quality is good in comparison to other available north Indian restaurants, But do not try to compare with actual north Indian taste. Punjabi taste found missing (may be taste changed as per local demand). The atmosphere was quite good with punjabi songs. Food Price/menu is also found too high (personal review). Valet parking is available just outside (roadside parking only).

One of my favourite north indian restaurants. Decent ambience. Located at one of the busier places in Kochi. Have a separate dining area for veg. Quick service. Priced on the higher side. So far, worth the price.

First about food I have tried tandoori butter rotti, ghee rice, pulav, lassi and palak paneer during the second week of December 2023. I loved it so much...all dishes are very tasty and feel the same taste as in the dhabas of Chandigarh... Price wise a little bit expensive.. Parking is a problem but the staff attending outside are doing very well to manage it... Too much delay in taking order...no one attended our table for around 15minutes. All items cost ₹980/-

Sardarji Ka Dhaba in Kacheripady is my go-to place for delicious and authentic North Indian cuisine. During my recent visit, I decided to try their thali meals, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and I must say, I was blown away by the taste and quality of the food. The thali included chicken curry or paneer butter masala, dal, chana, raita, roti, and jeera rice. To top it off, they also served a delicious gulab jamun for dessert, which was part of the thali. The thali was very filling and had a good balance of flavors and spices. The chana and paneer in the thali were especially noteworthy. The chana was perfectly cooked and had a lovely blend of spices, while the paneer butter masala was creamy and had a rich flavor. The roti and jeera rice were also well cooked and complemented the dishes perfectly. And of course, how can I end a meal at Sardarji Ka Dhaba without a sweet lassi? The lassi was thick, creamy, and simply delicious. Overall, the meal for two cost us around 600 rupees, which was quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of the food. The thali meals were priced at 230 and 280, respectively, and were more than enough to fill us up. The restaurant itself has a rustic ambiance, which adds to the charm and authenticity of the place. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick and efficient. In conclusion, if you're looking for a filling and delicious meal of North Indian cuisine, Sardarji Ka Dhaba in Kacheripady is definitely worth checking out.

Good place for north indian food in kochi. Though Service is fast, the prices are very much on higher side and there is scope for improvement in taste. Ambience is good though.

If you want to taste some authentic North Indian breakfast early in the morning in Ernakulam, please visit this restaurant. We ordered poori bhaji, chole bhathoora, bred omelet, and Lassi. Maggie, aloo paratha, and different types of tea are also on the menu. The food was a little bit spicy but tasty. Service is also good, and prices also reasonable.

It was our 2nd day in kochi I was craving fr some authentic north Indian food as I had come on transfer ( being north Indian). One of the colleague suggested n dropped me at this place, I was not expecting much but to my amaze it was superb. Service, food, ambience, everything was grt. Moreover they have separate seating arrangements for veg n non veg. Must visit place in kochi for punjab food lovers. A few days later my family came And as I don't have arrangement for gas almost every alternate day ordered from there. My daughter really loved the food. There is no compromise on. Quality and service. Owner himself runs around taking care of guests. Amazing Experience.

Living in kochi from last four year i crave for good North indian food and today i came with great expectation and ordered mutton kheema, amritsari kulcha, roti and salted lassi. Other than kheema other things are good. But to my horror mutton kheem (mutton is red meat) have chicken pieces i.e. mutton kheema mix with chicken kheema. Upon questioning staff refusing my claim. But not responding how red meat became white colored? Moreover mutton kheema is prepared from the spiced mutton which is been used for kebabs. So...original taste of mutton is nowhere... Finally...over overpriced dishes...i have exited from this place with a resolution of stepping in such a place which believe in cheating the customers. Thanks for horrible dining experience.

I cam first time in kochi n was finding a good hotel to eat lunch.n one of my student manvika recommended this hotel.. sardarji ka dhaba. It was really awesome n tasty food ever eaten. First of all, the ambience of restaurant is really great. Customer service at it's best. The Dhol kept at Non-veg entrance, really attractive! :-D, i did beat that! :-D Food is really tasty, i liked tandoori cos' it's not deeply grilled! Lassi, superb! I have been to many dhaba's but this one was verhy neat, clean and tidy :-) Appreciate that! Keep the service as it is always!

Wanted to have a north Indian lunch and decided to order from here as it serves an authentic flavoured food. I have once been to the restaurant to eat some amazing Paneer dish. This time we ordered peas pulao, Dal tadka, samosa chaat and bhalla papdi chaat. One major lesson was learnt, to never order chaat. I was craving for some lip smacking chaat and by the time it reached home, became very soggy and had spillage issue too. For the spillage I would definitely blame it on the packaging. They need to find other ways of packaging for such food or not give that as an option. Papdi chaat was still okay in taste but samosa chaat was not great in taste either. But what was a biggest disappointment was peas pulao. It's a very simple dish with rich flavour and easy to eat especially when one look for comfort. I have no idea why they wanted to make it so bad, it had a taste of stale oil. I would not recommend anyone to try peas pulao from there again. Dal tadka was not that bad.
One important point to note is, the prices are pretty high as compared to other restaurants, and the reason why people order from here is to have an authentic flavour. Quality of food is inversely proportional to the price.

Food supplied was very bad and very costly

Usually we go and dine in but due to the current circumstances we had to get it delivered. I must say the food was truly scrumptious. The Quantity was also appreciable, ordered 2 currys ( Paneer jalfraizi and Dal tadka ) it was enough for 4 for us. Perfect for fulfilling our Cravings during this lockdown. Contented with the Taste and Quantity.

Firstly I have to say that only reason I order Mutton biryani from your place is the quality of mutton that I think was best in the city. It was absolutely horrible where u have not only decreased the portion size but also have 2 pieces of mutton with bone?? I dont mind paying for quality meat but seems like u have dropped ur standards n it is enough for me to stay away from ordering food thru your restaurant. Will adjust with a lesser quality product rather than expect a consistency from a reputed restaurant!! Thanks

Authentic delicious spicy Punjabi Food served right here in the heart if Kochi.
Paneer Butter Masala is a must must try.
Service is extremely fast and food is serves hot and fresh.

Amritsar Kulcha was more like Alo Naan with little curd raita . There was no customary channa & onion & chatni as is always with a Amritsary Kulcha

Ordered a home delivery, food was hot fresh and sumptuous. Great packing. The quantity of curries varied, I think the price is reflective of the quantity. The breads are big in size. Loved the naan , chicken tikka gravy, fish tikka , mutton kebab, paneer butter masala. Highly recommended.

Super delicious Authentic Punjabi food... Being vegetarian that too in city like Kochi finding good options for authentic Punjabi food is a tough job... But sardarji ka dhaba is the place where our marathon ended and we now became a regular customer at both outlets and also in online delivery...
You must try their veg biryani taste great and good quantity...
Also paneer tawa masala, paneer butter masala and if u are fan of greens than palak koftas are delicious... Nd yup the paneer they serve is soo fresh and soft, just love it...
Each and every variety of nan nd kulcha are soft, crunchy and if stuffed than with plenty of stuffing... Simply loving the food...

One of the best restaurants where you can get authentic punjabi food. Thier food is just wow. Especially the handi chicken. They have a huge quantity and the price is reasonable considering the quantity. So guys who wish to have authentic food please visit this place.

Absolutely lovely and lively Punjabi restaurant very close to the junction where MG road starts. We went on a team lunch which consisted of 8 people.

Tried the Amritsari boneless chicken, Aloo parathas, Chicken seekh kebabs, Babycorn masalas and what not. The list was so huge.

Service is quite on a slower side but the food is soo rich to compensate for it. Irony is that we even forgot to click the photos as we were too hungry.

This is THE place for north Indian food in Kochi. From the decor to the service , everything is no-nonsense and efficient. I have dined here and ordered takeaway multiple times ; Every meal has been a delightful experience. Prices are proportional to quantity . Some favourites of mine are almond chicken soup, tandoori chicken, rogan gosh, kulfi and mutton biryani . Try it and you will not regret the experience.

One of my fave go to restaurant when I crave North Indian food. Been here 3 times in a span of 2 months. I am vegetarian and I always go to the Veg only restaurant as they have separate kitchen for pure veg session.
The food tastes very delicious, especially compared to many other restaurants here in Kochi. And the staff is also very courteous.
Our usual order consists of Tomato Shorba and Hara Bhara Kebab, Masala Papad and Mushroom tikka as starters. All were delicious and I especially love the chillied onion they give on the side of each starters.
We have tried differentain course and none has disappointed much.
Can't wait to go again.

This restaurant totally impressed me. If you love North Indian food, this place is a must try. The ambience is undoubtedly good and provides you a homely feeling. Coming to the food, I had mixed tandoori platter for starters, Awesome! & naan, butter chicken, veg pulao and raita for main course, it was equally yummy. The service was good too.

Went for the most typical option at Sardarji ka dhaba and got butter chicken, paneer butter Masala and butter naan. It was very delicious. I loved it. Quantity is also fine. Rates are a bit expensive, but the food compensates. The place has a beautiful interior and lighting. Friendly staff and service.

Well, starters are just fine. Delay in service is quite an issue. coming to main course there's really some taste with all the dishes. a sweet lassi at the end is a must try.
Jose Sebastian
Amazing food , service is not satisfactory . Cashier seems to be a snob . Really gives a North Indian taste . One of the best place in kochi to have North Indian thali.

Good restaurant in taste but their service can improve significantly. I’d gone there a couple times to eat kababs and various types of authentic Punjabi food. They have parathas and naans and kabab platters with dal makhni. All of my favorite items. Check it out! Their decor could improve but the restaurant is clean so over all it’s a good place!
Ziya
Dropped by Sardarji Ka Dhaba for dinner a few weeks ago when we were in the area and in the mood for North Indian food. The restaurant is extremely spacious with a Vegetarian dining area on the ground floor as well as a large Non-Vegetarian section upstairs. We walked in to find the place packed as usual and consequently, service took a while.

Our order comprised of the Mixed Tandoori Platter, Punjabi Special Pulao, Butter Naan, Garlic Naan, Dal Fry, Masala Papad, Mango Lassi and Strawberry Lassi.

The Punjabi Special Pulao was the Best Dish of the lot and the Dal Fry was a close second. The Mixed Tandoori Platter and both Naans were pretty decent but nothing really special. We've had better at many other places. The Masala Papad was tasty but a bit too expensive at Rs. 70/- for one. And as for the Lassi, both were decent but yet again, not the best we've had.

It's not that the food wasn't enjoyable, just that there are quite a few places in Kochi now that offer delicious North Indian cuisine. This place definitely has a loyal customer base, both young and old alike as they provide good service and have a nice ambience perfect for families. But at these prices and rising competition, it would really do to step things up a notch.

Just Had A Wholesome Meal From This Punjabi Restaurant . The Ambience Was Great , Silent Atmosphere , Air Conditioned , Clean Plates And Glasses , Table Cloth Was Paper Than Cloth So They Replace After Every Customer . Food Was Hot And Tasty , Though It's An Authentic Punjabi Restaurant Food Is Not Upto The Punjabi Taste Mark , But It's More Than Good (Don't Know If It's Becos Of My Taste Preference Or Food Being Too Hot That My Tongue Burned). Anyway If Your Looking For Good Punjabi Cuisine Do Go !.
Aloo Paratha : 10/10
Sweet Lassi : 10/10
Ambience And Hygiene ( Especially Restroom ) : 10/10
Food : 8/10
Cost : Hmmm 1000 For 4 People . Not Bad!.
Today I ordered food for my husband the second time but this time was worse than the last time, though he had called and requested good parathas but to his dismay, the aloo paratha did not have any aloo and paneer did not have paneer. He said it was a bad experience.

One of the authentic Punjabi restaurants in Cochin.A spacious restaurant spread over two floors with the ground floor dedicated for vegetarians.Ambience is reasonably good.A bit over priced but the food is really good.
