Review Menorah Restaurant At Koder House - Kochi (Cochin)

Nice ambience with the vintage feel in Fort Kochi. The staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. Definitely try the beef coconut fry and calamari. Lip smacking food, especially sea food. Downed too many beers because of tasty food and pampering staff. A must visit place for foodies.

Went twice to this place, the first time for beer on a hot day. Sat under the fans outside. It was so nice that we went back for an early dinner. It was raining, but we still sat outside under the overhang. The food was very tasty and the service excellent. Highly recommend.

Nice and cosy. Visiting after many years. Except that Vicky has weathered a bit, everything is immaculate. Food as always was fresh and satisfying.

Menorah restaurant in Koder House is a must visit for sea food lovers and is famous for its cordon bleu cuisine and also has the rare distinction of being the only restaurant in India to serve Jewish food. This restaurant is close to the Chinese fishing nets ensuring a constant supply of fish for the sea food platter which is the most well known dish at this restaurant

Had the prawn starter and fish biryani, both were decent. Biryani ortion sizes are for one person.

Had karimeen pollichatthu here and it was sinfully good. Portions can be a little small. Would definitely visit here again.

The food and ambience is 💯 . The staff is very polite and gentle with the customers. The restaurant is very crowded but the staff is very efficient.

This place has some really good ambience to just have food and chill specially during night. I went with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great ambience, extremely good staff and delicious food. It is a little pricey but the food was worth it and they have great biriyani combo offers. If anybody wants to just drink, have good food and chill this is the apt place for it.

Fish Biriyani <br/>(The masala and flavour of the fish was so good and aroma of the Biriyani was breeding with the winds to the neighbouring areas. Had enough onion fries, cashews and raisins. Mixed Grill Seafood and Shiraz wine. What more can as girl look more while travelling in Kerala? But if the staff makes the dish appear late and completely pisses you off.

Terrible service and terrible food!!!!!! <br/>Really wanted to eat their Jewish food, but apparently you have to pre order any Jewish food in advance. It took more than an hour for our food to come ! <br/>The pasta was the only good dish, though I had to order another one since the rest of the food was not up to the mark. The prawn curry had no flavour and the Chapattis were undercooked! <br/>

Had some good continental food in Menorah.A lovely heritage hotel.Nice place to have a meal on a lazy sunday afternoon.Good preparation but need to be in a patient mood to enjoy the meal .They take their time to prepare your meal but do a good job. Worth the wait.

Had dinner last night, food is traditionally with spicy kerala style. Taste of food is nice & service quite well. Little wait for Q. overally gud heritage hotel.

I have always been a huge fan of heritage hotels, and that is exactly what attracted me to menorah. Going past Koder house I have always wondered what this huge red house is all about.<br/><br/>On one of my visits to Cochin, me and an old friend of mine wanted to do something I have never tried before in kerala - Bar hopping. After trying out most of the places in the city, he suggested we head off to fort Cochin. <br/><br/>Once we were done with beer at some place I can't remember, my friend suggested dinner at koder house. That is how I came here for the first time.<br/><br/>Absolutely love the coconut beef fry which has been a staple ever since the first time. Every single time I go to menorah I have got to have this. The squid fry is also another favourite.<br/><br/>A must go to hotel in fort Cochin, if not for food, then for drinks at least, the story of the place, the beauty of the building, the old pictures on the wall, Koder house is one special place with a lot of good memories for me.

I was here for the 31st night dinner. A place which has beer and wine and ala carte menu inspite of being new year's eve.<br/><br/>This place has a lot of history as detailed at the back of the menu itself. The service could be improved a tad more, though.<br/><br/>The food is good and the setting quite pleasing. Pity, I didn't get to taste the koder house dessert since it ran out 😡

Sunday breakfast wanted to go to Kashi Art Gallery, but this was under renovation and closed . So, landed up at this restaurant nearby. Heritage building , three floors. The restaurant on the ground floor facing the open grounds and the Sea, The gusts from the sea kept us comfortable. Ordered a masala omelette and toast . Being offseason , the place was empty. The omelette was okay but the toast was from slightly sweet bread. Would rate the food average .
