Review Bench Restocafe - Kochi (Cochin)

One of the feel good cafes in Fort Kochi. Evening vibes are awesome. Limited menu with stunning tasty dishes. Don't miss it if you are visiting Fort Kochi. Waiting time is there to get the food, but it is so fresh and good in quality. Good behavior of staff. Easily accessible location. Only problem is about parking space, it is much limited. Taste 4.0/5 Quality 4.0/5 Service 4.0/5 Ambiance 4.0/5 Pricing 3.9/5 ----------------- Overall 4.0/5.0

This is a quaint little cafe on the bustling princess street. It has breakfast on weekends and lunch and dinner on all days. It has some really nice cakes like the Tiramisu cake ans the Blueberry cheese cake which are a must try. The black tea is also something which is a must try. The ambiance is very cute and the place has a nice vibe. If you are in fort Kochi. Don’t miss this one!!

I just loved Bench cafe.. We ordered Crispy Batter fried squid and BBQ chicken wings. Both were really top class. The pricing is not that expensive and the quantity is pretty good for two. The cafe has roofing sheets and so gets a little hot during the day but the ac when run in full kinda helps cool it down a bit. The food and the simple, and beautiful ambience makes up for this short fall. Recommended.

The best Steak you can ever find in Kochi. The place is located in the heart of Fort Kochi. It's classy and has a great ambience. Food is top notch. The 'Fish and Chips' and Beef Steak are absolutely outstanding. Reminded me of the food delivered in Goan Shacks. It's pricey but worth it. I love the place and am definitely going back a lot more times again.

The cafe has got very beautiful interiors, perfect ambient lighting and good music. They don't offer variety of dishes but have a good kitchen. The guy at the counter was very cordial and up for suggestions. It is a good place to visit in groups and you can also co-work here as it is not that filled with people.

A good cafe in Fort Kochi. Really appealing ambience and seatings they have. Its equally beautiful at both day and night. The so called two 'thick milk shake' we ordered didn't even came near any thickness. Really good for groups of people to hangout.

Great place to chill and enjoy a light snack.. the menu does not have a large variety, but the food is tasty! The staff was very courteous and the ambiance was also good... do check it out!

Simply excellent. These guys have left no stone unturned, right from responding to the questions on their google location to the follow up, the food quality and the packaging. Ordered a couple of beef steaks and a mahi mahi fish. The steak I just say we’re juiiiiiicy and delicious. Can can even definitely give a run for their money to the big time steak places. Had some deserts from them too.

Beautiful place. ordered cheese garlic bread, white sauce pasta, chicken steak, french fries, and we loved every bite of it. would love to come back to the restaurant.

Food is good but what's the point of end product if the service is bad. Our order was so basic and it wasn't even a busy time but they took 2 hours to serve food. If you are looking for a place to spend time without spending much money, this is your place. But if you're looking for food, find some place else.

We initially planned for having our lunch at Kashi Art Cafe but seeing the seating arrangement and warm weather, having without A.C. didn't seem to be a good idea. So we walked a few steps and found this place. <br/>Ambiance: Fine and clean, nothing great. But since A.C. was working, it was a breather from hot weather.<br/>Drinks: We ordered Lemonade that was good but not cold enough. <br/>Food: We ordered Tempura Fried Prawns. Well the taste was fine but it was a normal crisp fried Prawns and not Tempura fried. Next we ordered Chicken Sizzler that came with steamed rice and some french fries. This was a big let down as the taste failed to lite up our taste buds. Bit on the bland side of taste.<br/>Service: Manageable.

The place is good and is an ideal location to chill out with your gang. The ambience was amazing, the cutlery used is top quality, and the service is really good. Their menu has almost everything from burgers to steaks. Thank you for an awesome time!

Such a beautiful ambience these guys have

Came here in the evening for something light to chat over with friends. The first thing that will strike you is the ambiance - so beautiful.<br/><br/>We tried the masala fries - spot on. Perfect amount of spice and crispy fries. For drinks we ordered a lemon ice tea which was good and a Watermelon Lime. I hadn't tried this mix before of watermelon and lime - now i have a new favourite! :D<br/><br/>Hoping to be back soon for more.

Just an average place with overpriced menu. Nothing special or fanatacy for what they are charging. Can be avaoided visiting this place as there are plenty of nice places around.

There's nothing more but praises when it comes to 'Bench Resto Cafe'<br/>I went with a set of my friends on a sunny Sunday noon, hungry and tiered but the ambiance of this place had so much life in it that we couldn't resist to reset ourselves..!<br/>We came across one of the most friendly owner and the staffs who were always on their toes to fulfill our desires and got us whatever we needed in a giffy..<br/>Coming to food, this cafe offers one of the simplest menu yet yummy food.<br/>The options are limited hence not confusing us on what to choose from.<br/>Overall this place is really nice and highly recommend if u are in fort Kochi.<br/><br/>

There was a rat in the cafe, just roaming around. Questioning the hygiene of the place. So if you go here be sure to look up and check if there are rats just running around. The pasta was good, the sizzler and sandwich were very average.

Went to Bench last night as I waited for almost 10 minutes in Loafers for staff to come out of wherever they were hiding and serve me (only 2 other customers there at the time) - perhaps they were invisible?  <br/><br/>Initial service in Bench was slow - I have realised that apart from in Kashi and Teapot, one needs to be fairly proactive and call the staff over.   Once I'd ordered, the drink and meal arrived pretty swiftly.  I went to the main counter to pay, as I realised that the waiter probably wouldn't bother to check up on me as he was watching IPL.<br/><br/>Watermelon and lime juice was lovely.  I had "creme and spinach" pasta which was fusilli in a green (presumably blended spinach) sauce with small pieces of carrot, courgette and black olives (and thankfully NO onions - woo hoo!).  I did have to add quite a bit of salt and black pepper, but still enjoyed it.  <br/><br/>I then wanted something sweet; the banoffee pie is the only dessert on the regular menu, and they said they didn't have any.<br/><br/>They do accept credit cards now, but the card machine wasn't working.<br/><br/>They keep a poor fish in a very clean vase at the counter.  Western Europeans are very uncomfortable as we'd prefer fish to be free.  If they are in captivity they should at least be in a large, clean, aerated tank with lots of vegetation and fishy friends.

Pretty ambience with all the lights and bill counter at one corner of the cafe.<br/>Pretty much satisfied with the food but not the beverages.<br/>We ordered White sauce chicken pasta (must try), masala fries, orange juice (okay, okay), ginger honey pineapple (too much of ginger) and later we got it changed for a simple ice tea which was again just a tea and sides were given along (honey and lemon).<br/>Which to me was not satisfaction.

Too much waiting time. Food isn't great.<br/>Amazing ambience.. Yet, lack of hospitality from the staff.. Good place to relax and rest for a while..

I would say this place has the best steak in Kochi. Also very friendly staff and great ambience. Parking is scarce, as is any restaurant on this street, but manageable. Often contains very fun crowds. 10/10

A one of it's kind food joint at fort Kochi,<br/>A must visit place, nice ambience, tasty food, courteous staff. The theme of the cafe is mind blowing.<br/><br/>

The cafe has an appealing decor and is on the pricess street. Its one of the few cafes which are open till 11-1130 pm.<br/>The chicken hot dogs are filling and tasty.<br/>They have their own recipe of a red chicken sausage layered with cheese and stuffed inside the hot dogs and the mayo was sooo good.<br/>The mexican enchiladas have a layer of cheese on the minced chicken fillings, enough for one person and baked to perfection.<br/>Try these dishes if you dont wanna have the usual burgers, sizzlers and sandwiches again!<br/>Decor-5<br/>Service-4<br/>Food-4<br/>600-700 for 2 people.

We ate here in January and it was great. We ate here on February 26 and it was awful. I am being gracious. The quality of the food has decreased. We waited over 40 minutes...common at most places. But the food was very bad. The quesadilla was cheese singles and mayonnaise; not real cheese and chicken sausage. The fettuccini was bad as well, didn’t taste like fettuccini at all. We ordered all Thai food takeaway, so maybe it was not as good as in restaurant?

Ambiance: 4/5 (spacious and pleasant)<br/>Hospitality: 4.5/5<br/>Food: 3.5/5 (veg) . 4/5 (non-veg)<br/><br/>Must try: Chicken sizzler, Fish burger<br/>Do NOT have: Egg honey tamarind salad<br/><br/>Not many options if you're looking for vegetarian food but otherwise quite nice.

The interiors are beautiful done up. The food is alright. But oh so slow. If hungry and cannot wait, skip it. Else seems a good place for hanging out.

We all are at our favourite month of this year! For me, December is so special that i mostly travel home, be at Kochi and enjoy the warm Climate with some lip smacking dishes this old Portuguese, Dutch and British occupied colonial city had to offer! Rich in culture, it’s buildings and food patterns are highly influenced by the west. Kerala has its own local cuisine no other state can offer in this country.<br/>.<br/>Beef is such a delicacy here as the dish is celebrated among all people irrespective of religion. Here at Bench we opted to have Beef and Seafood sizzlers, where other options had chicken and pork.<br/>.<br/>The beef sizzlers was chewy, yet was made so yum with lot of sautéed veggies. They were such add ons to the dish. The fish sizzler had prawns, squids, and salmon fish. A healthy feast for the calorie conscious, as sea food is considered to satisfy anyone.<br/>.<br/>The ambience of the resto is lovely, the service needs to be improved. The waiting time was about 35-40 minutes, but the ambience didn’t killed the fun. Food is decent and worth exploring.<br/>.<br/>Let me know once you visit them!<br/>.<br/>Food: 3/5<br/>Service-2.5/5<br/>Ambience-4.5/5<br/>Value for money: 3/5<br/>.<br/>Follow @eatlikejo for more at Instagram 👈🏻👈🏻

Bench resto provides a colourful ambience and a positive vibe ! The cafe is mainly focused on international taste and flavours ! Well marinated chicken ! Drinks are given in the perfect way with perfectly presented ! Good customer service ! A great place for photo freaks with good lighting! Spacious cafe where you can spend a bit longer time talking and laughing!

I went here because this was a Zomato Gold restaurant, however it turned out they stopped it.<br/><br/>Anyways this cafe is in the same lane as Loafer's Corner and one can spot it easily. The big viewing windows is the mark of this cafe. Inside too the ambience is pretty amazing with contemporary interiors. The music playlist is great and completed the ambience.<br/><br/>Like any other cafe too, there isn't much for vegetarians. I ordered a Veg Burger along with Iced Tea. The burger was big in size and took some time to finish. The patty was soft and succulent and good on taste. Finally, the bill wasn't too much and surely recommend this place.

After a long day in fort kochi, we were walking through the princess street we came across this brightly light cafe with huge glass peep windows. We immediately liked the ambience and decided to give the place a try. <br/>Tastefully designed interiors with well chosen music playing in the back front, we immediate felt that this place is going to offer us a good experience. <br/>We had beef steak medium, chicken sizzler, Buffalo wings, schnitzel and sausages. The presentation was awesome, qty was right and tasted amazingly well. The staff was very courteous and assisted us by explaining each of the menu items. Too much food calls for a sulaimani as always, well not sure I should be calling the tea which was served a Sulaimani... it had way too many ingredients than the humble sulaimani chai, but it was délicieux!<br/>

We went here after seeing a couple of posts in Instagram. Ambience was nice but the food wasn't up to my level of expectation! We ordered steak and oddly some rice was given as side dish instead of mashed potatoes. Food was filling though.

Me and a friend decided to try out this cafe on account of having Zomato Gold. The location is pretty good and ambience is that of a typical cafe’s, well lit and cute. <br/><br/>Now coming onto the food, we ordered Fish and Chips, Chicken Breast and Banoffee Pie. The one thing that can ruin a perfect Fish and Chips is the lack of seasoning. The fish pieces were a bit too big and seriously lacked salt. The Chips however were spot on. Chicken Breast were a bit too sweet for my taste and didn’t pair well with the orange risotto. Again seasoning was an issue. The only dish I actually enjoyed was the Banoffee Pie. The staff were polite and courteous. The extra one star I am giving is just because of that. The main course was such a disappointment. <br/><br/>I hope you guys improve on the main course. Also they don’t take cards so be sure to have cash with you. Maybe they’ll change it in the near future.

Nice soothing ambience with Great Food . The Cold Mocha shake is brilliant and the Sizzlers are also not bad . Do try out the special menu .

This place 😍 peaceful ambience...natural lightings...good service!<br/><br/>About food...chicken skewers, beef steak, chicken cannelonni were finger lickin good...trust me they have the best mashed potatoes with the steak..the ginger lemon juice was also refreshing...their highlight was the banoffee pie..being person who hates banana..this one blew my mind...im definetly gonna come back to try their other stuffs..<br/><br/>ah yea not to forget they have a manual antique coffee grinder too which they actually use!<br/>

As I visit this cafe for the first time it was nice experience...have tried chicken pasta..it was tastey can't get a chance to try sizzlers...😐 Ambiance is energetic and relaxing... service is also good...and looking forward to be there again 🙌

I can say, the best service I have ever experienced till now. Thank you so much BENCH RESTOCAFE for the beautiful surprise that you had organised. You people just made our day with this.❤️<br/><br/>The ambience: Simply beautiful and unique.😍<br/><br/>About the food: Ordered King Fish Meal and Chicken spring rolls. The king fish meal was okay. If I say the truth, I am trying this dish for the 1st time. So I felt bit different. May be the dish may have this taste and I felt I could have ordered the masala flavour for the fish. Will order it next time😉. The spring rolls were pretty good, but nothing extraordinary!<br/><br/>Overall, wowie experience and will make another visit too to try more!🤩

We just stopped over for a quick bite at the newly opened Bench Resto Café. Their menu changes every week and generally caters to continental and oriental tastes. The choice of menu and the setting... benches with overhead wines and natural sunlight made for a perfect dining experience. The food was very well balanced between spicy and moderate. Loved their banoffee pudding. Would be heading there again on a weekend to explore a well crafted menu.

Let me tell you, the Lemon and Beef Skewers are to die for! Me and Sunil Ram also had the Grilled Chicken with Orange rice. The chicken was ok but the orange rice totally ruined it (it's not for me).<br/><br/>Personally liked the ambience and the service.
Thefoodlogue
Since it is in Fort cochin, you can expect a warmer ambience with unique interiors. I ordered Watermelon lime juice. Rates and services were average.

Damn nice place. Though new the food was yum.. I am a fooodie only on Mondays and Tuesday and believe me when I day my love for veg food increased by a huge margin. The Rissoto and Spaghetti Spinach Pasta are out of thw world. Dont miss the pineapple lime drink at the end of it.
Sangeeth Sivan
They have a really good ambience - variety of seating options and cute decorations. The good choice of music really lifts up the vibe. The service is also pretty good.<br/><br/>They could have more options on the menu but I was pretty satisfied with I ordered. The chicken burger was enjoyable and of ample quantity. The honey soy chicken wings were also good! And to the end the meal, I had a nice iced tea soda. Definitely visiting again!
