Review Diwans's Durbar - Kochi (Cochin)

Fantastic place for dinner. Ambiance is good. People are very kind. Food is delicious. We tried chicken tikka, was delicious. Chicken fried rice was good. Parking space available. They have clean restroom. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for dinner on the way to kochi from wonder la.

Diwans Durbar opposite the Civil Station kakkanadu is a peaceful place for dining. We went there as a family. The lawn in the front side which is filled with grass helped our restless kids to release some energy before the food. We visited there at night and the place was warm and lighted with string leds. The food was tasty. We tried Prawns Vattal , Chicken kadai,Appam, Butter Roti. Prawns Vattal was delicious and chicken was good too. Appam was a little sweet and Roti was average. Compared to other restaurants Diwans Durbar is spacious and peaceful.

Good food, good service and a very quiet and calm atmosphere. One of the decent restaurants in Kakkanad. Well maintained and very clean place. Food is also good in taste and quality. We had hot and sour chicken soup, Butter Naan and pepper chicken roast. Their service is also good.
Jeffrey Bonson
We had manchow soup, konchi crispy chicken, dragon chicken and Gopi Manchurian as starters. For the main course, we had manchow chicken fried rice and garlic chicken. For dessert we had fried ice cream and gulab jamun. All items were excellent and the ambiance was very nice.

First of all nice ambience! Had a great lunch here. Parking facility is limited. Also this place is not that much spacious.Talking about the food, starters are too good. Ordered chicken soup, chicken lollipop and dragon chicken. All are delicious. Coming to the main course some dishes disappointed and some are great. Also well mannered staffs. i wouldn't say it's a must visit place if you are in kakkanad!!

Good service and good ambiance. The place was calm and quiet. They got a spot outside specially for birthday celebration. We tried their chinese cuisine and was good.

This multicuisine restaurant(mostly north indian dishes) is located near kakkanad jn, opposite collectorate, ernakulam. Parking is available, though vehicles have to take a steep road to reach the place. Seating area is neat and clean, and the ambience is great, similar to fine dining. Ordered a variety of dishes(couldnt really take a pic of the food) and all the dishes were tasty. Some of the best dishes I tried there were the butter chicken, chicken tikka, paneer biriyani, schezwan fried rice and the dal tadka. Only issue would have been the service, which was a bit confused and disorganized. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall, the place serves good food and very good ambience.

Nice ambient. It's a unique place.

Diwan's Durbar is an awesome place for an occasional exploration. A treat for the eye and a great trip for your taste buds. Ambiance: Their ambiance is one of the best I've ever seen. The beautiful vertical garden background, the interior work and the furniture all contribute to an amazing experience. Great place for a family trip or even a date. It's also the most opted place for team lunches from the nearby infopark. Food: The food tastes great, especially the starters. The price is high, and the quantity of some items (Starters) should ideally increase to reflect the price. But every time I've visited, the food has tasted great. So I'm happy. Starters - Chicken Lollipop, Mongolian Beef and Dragon Chicken The starters here are probably what I've enjoyed the most. Bring in some friends, choose few of the starters and eat to your heart's delight. Wish I could have more of the Chicken Lollipops. The Mongolian Beef and Dragon Chicken were juicy and delicious!! Main Course - Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Noodles and American Chopsuey The main course definitely had sufficient quantity and tasted really satisfying. I remember having trouble finishing the chopsuey. Definitely a delicious experience. The fried rice was really good! Desserts - Fried ice-cream, Chocolate and Vanilla milk-shakes Once again, an amazing treat. The fried ice-cream was definitely different and a nice new try. Just make sure you eat it quickly before the fried bread-like coating gets soggy. The milkshakes were delicious too. Pros * The best ambiance you can find * Amazing starters!! Food tastes great * A huge variety of options Cons * A bit expensive Diwan's Durbar is a definite one time visit. I had a great time the three times I visited. Take your friends and family, and go have a good time.

Must visit place if you are in and around Kakkanad. They have a good variety of dishes all of which are vibrant in flavours and colours. The cuisine is predominantly Indian and Indo-chinese, with occasional South-East Asian Specials. For a quick grab do try out their combos which are flavour packed. The nestled away ambience is a great plus point too.

Good food and a quiet atmosphere. Ambience is ok, just that I felt, some maintenance is long overdue. Food tastes good, especially their North Indian dishes are worth making a visit to this place.
Sandeep K
Situated opposite to the collectorate. This is situated at the side which is below the road. Enough parking spaces. Good ambience. Good Food where the North Indian Dishes a are on plenty. Good service and also good food too

Ambience is soo good that you don't want to come out of it. When you enter the restaurant all you see is greenery. They have landscaped the outside with hanging pots and just a glimpse is soothing. 6 - 7 A/c units keep the restaurant cold. You will have to wait for sometime to get your food to the table. Staff is friendly and price is not high for such a restaurant. They serve both south and north Indian food. I believe they have a good number of orders from swiggy too as we could see many swiggy delivery boys waiting outside. We had 3 fish curry meals and a beaf roast for Rs.650/- only which is economical. 10 - 12 cars can be parked inside their premises. Their proximity to Technopolis and InfoPark is definitely an advantage. They do accept group reservations for lunch or dinner parties.

The service was really poor especially from the manager who was there(5th jan 2020 at 10pm) .we ordered for beef wraffle and they gave us ginger beef.when we asked to change the item, the manager was blaming us.the entire family member heard what v hd orderd bt that guy was nt at all accepting the fact tht it was his mistake.his attitude was nt at all suitable fr being a manager of sch a well known restaurant..Diwans Durbar

Price little bit high.ambiance and Service is good.they have lots of dishes in their menu.my favourite is beef thenga kothu biriyanis are not good . especially tikka biriyani.

What I love about this place is their ambiance. They do have lot of spaces and it's good choice for team lunch or dinner. Food is also fine to an extent but not justfying the price tag. Service is pretty much slow around here and we waited for a long time to get the dishes. It would be great if they can improve the services
CA Mithun Surpuriya
Food is awesome. We visited minimum 10 times as it's best restaurant for North Indian. Must try Paneer Lajavab...and Paneer Sunari Papadi starter...Daal khichadi...Service is little slow.
Deepa Nair
We landed at this place after a tiresome drive of 5 hrs and were famished and ready to hog on and they mentioned whatever we ordered we will get in 10 mins and true to the words everything was served within the time frame and absolutely loved the food. It’s yummy & economical. Recommend their Kerala Parotha , Natholli fry & Beef kantari <br/><br/>Ambience :4/5<br/>Food:4/5<br/>Value for money:5/5<br/>Service:4.5/5

Delivery boy was very humble and polite while asking the location...and also he was good while speaking to me...all over it was gud experince

Our very first experience with DD was very distasteful with respect to time management.<br/><br/>Food: It was absolutely amazing. The first batch of Lollypop chicken, Paneer Pakoda, Beef Kanthari, Braised Fish Chilly were too good. Each food had a unique flavor to it.<br/><br/>Ambiance : Good<br/><br/>Service : The internal service team was good . But as the gush of new orders increased the team started forgetting our initial orders. We got all the starters and main course together. The desserts which were ordered initially and were reminded at several occasions were brought last.<br/><br/>Basically when the going gets tough the tough should get going . But that was not the case and in doing so the team were not even apologetic and nor were we given any discounts for the discomfort.<br/><br/>Advisable to visit during non-rush hours to enjoy.

I have been to this place many times. The ambience is good. The food here is tasty and affordable. The last time I visited this place I found the waiters quite unresponsive and delaying the service.
Vijaysankarmenon
Customer delight. Ecstasy. Thank you. Great food. Good packing. Nice personised note, avoid photostat. Now not for you, but for Zomato, minimum 140 Characters for review seriously sucks.
Amin Ajay
Not good.. served uncooked chappathees and butter chicken with yesterday's thandoori shredded peices.... Had this bad experience before also from here...

We had our Chinese food delivered to us on a rainy day...The delivery guys at Swiggy did a wonderful job of delivering the food in absolutely no time...The food was simple but absolutely delicious...The Chicken Reshmi Kebab was pick of the lot..even the garnishing salad was very tasty...

Diwan's Durbar is an amazing place with beautiful ambience and quality food at reasonable prices. The place looks good really classy with beautiful interiors as well as exteriors. The menu covers a wide range of cuisine including Chinese, Kerala, and north Indian. I had Chinese food which tasted right on point and it was a wonderful experience on the whole.
Anju N
I love their ambience. It's a great place to dine. Food is well cooked.<br/>Would prefer this place for a hangout as it's pretty spacious and serves good food.
Ivan Korah Abraham
Great food, delicious and reasonably priced. The place is wonderfully and properly maintained with good ambience. The service is also great.
Zohra
The natholi fry is good here and other food other than the kerala style is very average. The service is slow and not too responsive. We have to call the waiters several times to get their attention to even get water.
Mathew Plavelil Abraham
The restaurant maintains a good ambience with a lot of potted plants and wall garden thingy. The food is good and might seem a bit pricey. The service is also quite good.
Shruti Koshy
Been here twice.<br/>The food was always up to mark.<br/>Quantity was not too much neither too little.<br/>They only issue i had was the long waiting time for order to come. Other than that everything was supurb.
Pushkaran JP
A Place for get together with friends or family. Good ambience, excellent service. Tasty variety of food @affordable rates. I recommend DDurbar.
Anjali Raj
Once I went there, food was good....<br/>Because of that I ordered food for delivery.... But on delivery food was worst.<br/>I ordered fried rice and chilly chicken....both were worst, felt like old food<br/><br/>

I had dinner with my family. We had good food and beautiful time. We ordered dragon chicken as starters, chicken dishes n naan and desserts- fruit salad and fried ice cream. Overall good value time with great food. I loved the fried ice cream.<br/>Rating<br/>Food 4.5/5<br/>Ambience 4/5<br/>Service 3.5/5

The ambience is lovely , music is soothing .. had North Indian biryani , the wait was pretty long but finally when it came it was worth .. service could be little more better.. food is good.. had visited twice hopefully will come more .. keep serving good food 👍🏻

Been to this place twice. They have a great variety in the menu from North Indian, Chinese, to Kerala cuisine.<br/><br/>May be a little heavy on the price side. (?) because a normal pineapple juice was priced 120 RS. Other dishes I had like Garlic Paratha, Paneer Makhani, Schezwan Fish Chilli, Appam and Fish Moili etc were delicious and reasonably priced. A Rajasthani friend of mine certified to the authenticity of the North Indian dishes, so yeah!
Neha Vijay
First of all - Amazing food!<br/>Good quantity and ambience.<br/>They serve one of the best Nasi Goreng. For dessert I tried fried ice cream, though the outer crust wasn't that crispy but it tasted good.<br/>Cons : they charge 100 bucks for fruit juices which you can easily get for half the price in other places.
Vineetha Sasi
Yummy food and awesome ambience.moreover this restaurant is kids friendly.Lahori paneer is the most yummiest dish which serve paneer with the thick and most tastiest gravy.Really loved the food.
Sreenath Krishnankutty
Went for a team lunch and we loved the food. We ordered tandoori rotis, chicken rara, chicken Chettinad and chicken tikka biriyani. There wasn't much of a delay in their service. The price was also reasonable. Good work team.<br/><br/>Forgot to mention, they have ample parking space.
Gayathri Preman
The place has a very decent ambience and gives a fine dining experience.Service is pretty good and the food is delicious as well ! There is nothing extraordinary about this place or food but everything is upto the standard and surely will not be disappointed . An ideal place for weekend family dinner.

Diwan's Durbar is an awesome place for an occasional exploration. A treat for the eye and a great trip for your taste buds. <br/><br/>[Visited thrice between late 2016 to early 2017. The restaurant is quite spacious with good distance between tables. You feel like you have your own private space. On the other hand, the place is swarming with mosquitoes.<br/>The menu is quite vast with dishes from North and South. But many of the items were not available when I visited the place.<br/>I only ordered sea food. Queen fish fry, prawns roast. I requested them to make it less spicy. They still made them nose watering spicy.<br/>They have average tasting food with some ambience.
Karan Shetty
In my initial days of infopark corporate life i had noticed this restaurant and it looks beautiful no doubt.<br/>You would think of having awesome in this place <br/>But the food is not up to the mark as compared to the ambience and the price is high.
Erica MK
This place is mostly based on hype. They need to have some major upgrades with regards to north indian food. Had ordered the chicken hara bara kebabs.. what we got was the ordinary chicken kebabs..the lacchha paratha was just a regular kerala parotta cooked in the tandoor. It was disppointing. Thinking that dessert would redeem this place, we had ordered the fried ice cream. The crust which is supposed to be crispy was soggy and the ice cream was leaking out and melting. Disappointing first visit.

Been here twice....tried the fish curry meals n prawns roast.... was good.... gud ambience..... inactive bearers... an okay place to be in...

Diwan's Durbar is a very nice restaurant, good ambience, comfortable sitting arrangements. It has glass walls which makes it look pleasing, it would be a sight to see, during rains. Service is average, I ordered for Chicken Chettinad with Kerala Parantha and Tandoori Butter Roti. It was a huge disappointment! Chicken was not that soft as I expected, looked like not fully cooked. And Tandoori Butter Roti was as hard as Pappadum. Kerala Parantha was ok. Waiter didn't return to my table for long after bringing my first order, until I had to ask another waiter for my next order or the bill. Need to improve soon.

Loved this place. Again I tried the place based on Zomato’s review and I was not at all disappointed. Yummy food. Still feeling guilty of not clicking pictures. We had hot and sour chicken soup and chicken lollipops as starters. It was good. Then we ordered putty, egg roast and beef coconut fry as the main course. The beef was awesome. It’s been long since I had such yummy beef. Well done and the correct spice. We did order chicken tikka as well, which was fine. For dessert we ordered Ghulab Jamun. The Jamun was cylindrical shaped in comparison to the original round one. Ignoring the shape I took a bite and it melted in my mouth. Will come back just to have the Ghulab Jamun for sure.
Gopika Sarva
Good ambience and neat with courteous staff but quality of food not that great and pricey. Stale chicken and poor quality of oil. Most dishes taste almost the same. Appam and stew is good.
Isaac Moses
I just love the ambience here. A fine dining experience at the cost of a bistro. Service can be improved a little. Decent Food but my personal favourite is the Tandoori Chicken. Best Tandoori Chicken I've had in Kochi, hands-down.

Diwan's Durbar is one of those places that teach you never to judge a restaurant by its exterior. Deciding to have lunch at Diwan's Durbar was a serious face palm moment! We were attracted by the ambience of the place, especially at night, and that's what led us there one day for lunch with friends. The place was empty when we got there and just had 2 other customers by the time we left so can't say much about the crowd. Guess it only attracts an audience at night. The staff looked bored, to be honest. Getting to the food, we ordered a few kinds of Biriyani. I forgot which ones and didn't photograph them either cos of how unspectacular they looked and tasted. The food took quite some time to arrive though we were the only ones there. The pricing was reasonable seeing as they're meant to be kind of a premium restaurant but definitely not worth it since the food just tasted about average. The ambience is great, the interiors are tastefully done so points for that. Unsure whether it's worth another visit in the future though.

Diwan's Durbar rolls out some yummy North Indian dishes......I just love thier chicken lollypop but make sure you tell them not to dip and bring it as dry. We also tried their paneer lababdar and tandoori roti which was too good and all thier dishes are normally priced. Perfect ambience for a nice dinner
Nibhanapudi Sravya
The paneer Butter masala, dal makhani and paneer lababdaar tastes heavenly. The architecture and greenery of this place is an added plus point. This place is a must visit for all the foodies out there.

Diwan's durbar has an awesome ambience, with ample parking space and serves just above average food! They seem to lack in consistent taste.<br/><br/>Their Dragon chicken was really good on our first visit. However, the chicken was overcooked and dry inside when we ordered it during our second visit a few weeks later! This time we also tried the Dragon fish. It was amazing!<br/><br/>In addition to normal biryanis, they also have north Indian biryani and tikka biryanis. They were all fine but nothing exceptional. Also the fish biryani (in any form) was just not that good. The fried rices are just mediocre.<br/><br/>They do have a big menu with lots of items. There are much more to be explored. Let's hope the other items on the menu could appeal more...
Vibin Abraham Roy
Great Ambience. Feels premium but has reasonable rates. Our favourite dish was the Monchov Fried Rice - seafood fried rice with a surprise. Best enjoyed with some side dish. Ample parking space. A good spot to enjoy with family.

Good pocket friendly place with fully packed people it took bit time for me to get table<br/>And the appetizers was so yum And the main course disappointed me it was not so tasty as expected <br/>Prompt service and seating arrangement and the way it's build us so simple and attractive.<br/>For team outings and stuff they have special place on top and great to read that they even do homedelivery and outdoor caterings.
Arun Prem
Worst experience ...Pathetic Service...Not professional at all .Today we had ordered for home delivery and these people NEVER showed up..!Now when I am calling them for knowing the order status (after 1 and half hour)I am getting a reply that they have closed. And this was not my first such experience with them, earlier also we had similar experience and that too when we had ordered for our guests. Had thought as one of a kind error that time. Seems like it's a regular thing there. From now onwards we will never order from here.
Jerine Jinesh
Was in search for North Indian food and finally my search ended here. Food here at Diwan's Durbar hit my north-indian taste buds correctly. We ordered Lahori Chicken, Butter Naan, North Indian Chicken Biryani. The food was delicious. Service fast and efficient. Decently priced. Will surely recommend this place for its North Indian Biryani .
Nazia Nazir
I have been here thrice .If you are coming here please do opt only for oriental cuisine .It's excellent .We had hot n sour soup ,Fried rice, hakka noodles and manchurian .But we were really disappointed when we tried north Indian .Tandoori chicken was not cooked .Yes we don't mind waiting but do give it cooked especially the most demanded item .Paneet butter masala was good enough along with butter naan.Tried appam and fish masala .Fish was just okayish because the fish was not fresh and did smell of dry fish. Also had tried chicken Chettinad. .was okay.Service and presentation is good .But food was just okay .

Sexy place. <br/>Awesome ambience and lighting. <br/>Excellant service. <br/>Family spot as well.<br/>Chicken Lababadar and butter naan 👌👌 <br/>Too much of good food at decent price. ✌<br/>
Sreejith Ks
<br/>Went there. Liked the ambience. Made a good impression. Hated the food but maybe just me. It was a late afternoon and all they had was one or two types of biriyani. And did not like the biriyani that was given. Had a little too much of ghee for my taste. Never set foot in after that.
Pawan Kumar
The location of the restaurant is in Prime Upcoming part of Kochi. The Ambience and the Sea Food served here makes it even better. Must for a Sea Foodie.
Susan
I been to this place, quite a number of times. The lush greenery offered by itself, gives us a quick escape from the traffic and the city.parking lot was spacious. Dining area was simple and neat. Food was served hot, and was delicious. Right amount of spices combined with the courteous demeanour of the employees made my day. I am definitely going to this place again.

Regular customer at Diwan's Durbar..... Good place to dine.... Loved the Chicken tikka and Fish tikka Biriyani... Ambience is average.... One good thing is they accept food card for home delivery
George K
The fish curry meals was good and the restaurant is mostly crowded during lunch time. The food took some time to arrive,i think they misplaced the order. We also ordered kozhuva fry,it was well fried to perfection.

Diwan's Durbar has a very good ambiance.Food is also good.I tried Chicken fried rice and Dragon chicken both taste good...Nice place to dine out.
Nadeem Shafi
Saturday dinner at Diwan's Durbar, it was great.<br/>Had kadhai chicken, paneer tikka, garlic naan, ice cream, cold coffee, etc. All over the food was good. Only thing I would like to point out is that the dal tadka had less salt and garlic naan was little dry. Rest all was good.
Swaraj
This was my 2nd destination for lunch while visited Kochi for a customer visit. Tried few dishes and those were excellent. Specially the chicken kabab is a must-have dish. The main attraction for this place is they cleverly invested few but how decorated the place will attract you. Must try once.
KARTHIK M
Ambience is just perfect. Staff is really polite , can say that it's a bit posh. Pricing is just fine. The best porotta I have ever had is from here. I like the side dishes like butter chicken. I dint like the Chinese dishes over here, better places nearby for Chinese food. Tandoori chicken not upto the mark just ok. This is defenitely a good place to visit with your family.

Worst place ever!! Me and my colleagues went for a lunch here couple weeks back. It was supposed to be a get together before Christmas, which turned out to be a horrible experience. We had ordered a few starters along with that a Fish finger. As soon as it arrived there was some kind of foul smell though we had no little idea it was from this dish we had ordered. The fish seemed to smell so bad and it tasted as if it was rotten!!! We immediately told the waiter who just took it away and cancelled the dish without even an apology. To our horror there was another the same thing happened in the main course as well, for a Fish tikka. <br/>It was our mistake that we complained about this to the restaurant manager only while billing. He just argued that they only provide fresh fish. We should really have had him taste it!!<br/>I would have given ZERO stars if that was an option!
Jackson Jolly
I had dinner from here.I went for chicken fried rice and chicken tikka masala.Got it served instantly. The fried rice was good but the tikka was too salty . However dipping it in pudhina sauce made it s little better though.Great ambience, boring music, excellent service and on point pricing makes this place a one time visist for sure.Recommened!

I had kept an eye on this restaurant each time I pass by, but was reluctant to try due to bad reviews I saw in Zomato. But we thought of giving a try recently. Went there twice since then. <br/>We tried their soup, kebab, naan, one special chicken dish for the day and noodles. The special one was a good one. All the other tasted average. But we were not disappointed as said in the reviews. But felt like service was a bit slow first time. But during the second visit I felt the service became much better. <br/>Ambience was really good, I visited during night time. Felt that their north Indian cuisine is better over other items in the menu.
Pranaya Peddineni
Diwan's Durbar is one of my favorites. <br/>Food: It is the tastiest till now in kakkanad. North indian  and chinese tastes very good which is very rare in Kochi. 4.5/5<br/>Ambiance:  Beautiful place with spacious garden and outer sitting space. Such a nice interior decoration. 4.5/5<br/>Quantity: One starter and easily can fulfill 2. They are generous with their quantities. 4.5/5<br/>Price: Price is reasonable for the quantity it fetches. Nice place to be with family and friends. 4/5 <br/>Specialty: Chicken drumsticks and veg crispy fry is must try.
Jinu Mathew
Good restaurant with a nice ambience especially at night. Food is good too. I went with family and ordered for 1 cream of tomato soup, 1 chicken lung fung soup, 1 Hong Kong chicken, 6 chappathis and 1 chicken fried rice, lemon juice and ice creams. The food served was really fast and the quantity of each portion was good enough for 3 adults. Total bill was just 650 rupees.

I had one fine dining experience in Diwan's Durbar. This place looks really amazing and the food is totally adds up to make it a superb dinnerspot. This restaurant manages to impress me from the beginning to the end.<br/><br/>This restaurant has a great design. The exterior and the surrounding area well worked with a garden based setting. They have grown creepers on the walls to give it a modern and nice setting. The Royal Enfield in between the garden is almost like an icing on top. The lights and glass walls adds up to the beauty of this place. <br/><br/>Coming to the food I tried the Kalimirch Chicken Kabab which was good chicken didn't loose its moisture while grilling so I would called it one fine perfectly grilled kabab. Then the naan was okay and the kulchas was a little bit disappointing but it was manageable. The mutton Rogan gosh turned out to be really good, there was three huge chunks of mutton and enough gravy to fill two stomachs. Cooking this curry needs expert level experience and most of the restaurant fail in bringing it up. This is a must try in this place.<br/><br/>Coming to the price it's not steep normal affordable rates and worth every single penny as the quantity served in high compared to other places. The service is good and friendly which always a plus point to any restaurant. <br/><br/>Overall verdict, One pleasant place with a great ambience and really nice food. Everything is good over here. There are no room for complaints on this place. If you have girlfriend and you are confused and wondering where to take her out just don't think twice pop over here. No doubts she will love it. <br/><br/>One Must Try Place in Kakanad.

Not as good as all the hype. Food wasn't particularly tasty. Tried both the north and south Indian varieties. Ample parking space and good ambience.

One sunday noon we decided to order lunch from Diwan’s Durbar. I haven’t yet have a dine in experience out here but as per the images uploaded it looks good. Now just let me share my home delivery experience. The first thing we asked does it delivers to chittethukara and it was yes so we started giving our order. We ordered few garlic naans, plain rotis, dal tadka, dal makhani, baby corn and mushroom masala, jeera rice and veg kolapuri.<br/><br/>The order reached us on time, say close to 30-40 mins. The curries were packed properly but the naans and rotis weren’t. May be if they could have been little more liberal in using the aluminium foil the naans and rotis would have been softer. <br/><br/>As we started having our lunch firstly Dal Makhani was good and how it’s supposed to be, satisfactory. The dal tadka was the best among all. Home cooked dal taste, yeah the tadka had more oil than we give in our cooking but still it was good. As I have already mentioned the naans were a bit hard. The rest two items veg kolaouri and baby corn and mushroom masala were horrible. Both the gravies tasted the same, extremely spicy and lotssssssss of masala.<br/><br/>Overall not that great experience but not bad. I can recommend a friend for this restaurant.

Would definitely recommend this place ... Considering it was house full indicates its popularity. We ordered pepper chicken , dal tadka, handi chicken, baigan bartha and roti and naans. Each of the dishes was delicious and we throughly enjoyed our meal.

Remarkable ambience with proper lighting. This is one of the best restaurants for family get together and all. Also having a lot of parking space. We ordered tandoori chicken and naan which was just okay. Also they are having a coffee shop which is not crowded at all. Night is the best time to visit, so that you can feel the beautiful greenery and the ambience. Best place for a date :)

Pathetic service. People in the restaurant don't even seem to care. Very average food. Portions were too small. Malai tikka was good though. Anyway, never going back.

we went to this place twice and the ambience i must say is out of the world, with all the plants in the walls and hanging lights. especially at night the whole place looks awesome. now coming to food i will say average, it's not too bad nor too good. we had naan and different varieties of chicken ,the noodles i had was ok and the biriyani was not the best i had. altogether i would say average for food and excellent for ambience.

Wow nice food, yummm no comments... chicken kalimirch (pepper) was just amazing. Hot and sour soup was so different from usual, being a fan of hot and spicy food Diwans Darbar is on top spot. Can't explain, just go and experience. Looking forward for more.

My obsession with North Indian food is indulged quite frequently with this restaurant. <br/><br/>The babycorn and mushroom masala along with the garlic butter naan is to die for.

Nice food and an awesome ambience. The people serving are good in terms of their understanding about the food they serve. Also the variety available is high with lot of options for veggies too.

Nice restaurant!!!<br/>Situated right next to collector's office in kakkanad.<br/><br/>The look from outside is really good of the restaurant.<br/>Ambience inside should be little improved, the look that we get from outside can't be seen inside.<br/><br/>About food everything i tried tastes nice. From the soup to mojitos all tasted good.<br/>I tried out the veg fried rice, Hakka noodles and panner tikka everything was really nice.<br/><br/>They also have different cuisines in the menu.<br/><br/>During the rush hour you have to wait outside for a table, also the service is really bad during those times. We had to wait an era for getting our food served.<br/>When it is normal timing's without much rush, the service is good with help full staff's.<br/>They are really short staffed to handle the rush.<br/><br/>They have ample parking space also.<br/>Rates wise also its a reasonable restaurant, comparable to any other Ac restaurant of same category. <br/><br/>For casual lunch/dinner its a good place around kakkanad but if its rush hour i don't recommend this hotel.

A nice place to dine in, with a great ambience. Food was delicious. Open kitchen view at the entrance is nice. Staffs were cooperative and the restaurant has enough parking space too. <br/>The only problem was the mosquitos inside the restaurant. Installation of mosquito repellent will be helpful.

Interior & Ambeince - Good. <br/>Service - okay : room for improvement. <br/>Food - mutton soup : Good<br/>Starter - spicy crispy chicken - Good. <br/>Main course - Patiala chicken : Good. <br/>Garlic Nan - Okay : Need to be better. <br/>Fish Masala - okay : can improve. <br/>Schezwan Fried Rice - Not Gud Not Bad : needs a lot of improvement when compared to other restaurants quality they offer. <br/>Lime Juice - Good. <br/>Over all good experience but has space to improve .

I went to this restaurant last night with my wife and kid. The overall ambience was good, they has lot of parking space, the staff were really polite but the food was not that great. We ordered cream of tomato soup, roti, butter chicken, veg fried rice and veg pulav. The soup was too sweet, butter chicken was more spicy than how a butter chicken should be, roti and pulav were good and the worst part was the veg fried rice. It was not hot, the rice was not cooked well and above all it didn't have the flavor of what a fried rice should have which makes it a boring dish. We went there based on my wife's recommendation as she had been there before with her colleagues and she said it was very good then. So I guess just like most of the restaurants, this one also starting losing their focus on quality and taste.

Simply yet chic ambience especially in the evenings. They have excellent staff and a great menu. It's a good choice for dining in a group as there's something for everyone on the menu. Food tastes great and is served in excellent time.

People staying in Kakkanad, who want to experience good north indian style food, I would recommend this place. Have visited this place multiple times and loved the food. The ambience is very good, specially at night. A good family place night out.

I have had food at various occasions here. Food during the main Kerala festival, Onam, is great. The flower decorations and the Onam Sadhya gives you the native feel. On other occasions, their food of the day is something one should look forward to. This time I had something called 'In-house Punjabi curry ' With 'kerala Parotta '. Hmmm.. Perfect combination. I guess, for me, it was north meets south. Enjoyed it thoroughly! <br/>

I visted diwans durbar on 18th of may with a friend.Ordered for chicken roast  and some other dishes .We had to wait for nearly 20 min before they brought the dishes. The chicken roast gravy was too  bad in taste and the chicken was not fresh. We both saw  blood stains all over the chicken pieces and it tasted too bad. I told the waiter about this.He told that he will check and immediately took the chicken dish inside. After about 5 min he came and told that that there was no problem with chicken and the chicken was fresh. We stopped eating and asked for bill .He offered discount but we did not accept as they did not accept the fault.Paid the bill in full and left.I would never visit this hotel again unless i am sure that they have made some changes.

Great ambiance <br/>Three of us were planning to dine out and a friend suggested this place. No question about the ambiance. The service is a bit slow but not as disappointing as their food.

Just came out after a disgusting dinner. Me and my family felt insulted after we entered the resturant as we were told to order fast in a very unpleasant way and afterwards i realised that i entered the resturant at 10.30pm which was 15 minutes before their closing time. They could have told as they are closed. We ordered Chicken Achari and butter chicken both boneless but to our surprise both the dishes were having almost same gravy with some pieces of mango pickles in Achari. To add to our worst dinner day the chicken dish were having very big pieces with bones. Upon our request they removed the bones and brought it back. A request to hotel management hang a "closed" tag when it is time that you do not want customers to step in.

Date of visit: 4th April 2016<br/>Time: 7 30 pm<br/>I have been going by this way on my cab after work, and Have been thinking to dine in here, finally made it here.Me and my friend thought to explore this place, that's how we landed at this place. The lawn and entrance is well set to welcome you inside, and the ambiance and decor is good enough for you to dine in with your friends or family. We had ordered karimeen Polichede, chicken patiala and porotta and butter naan. The karimeen polichede wasn't up to the mark of what we get in alleppey side, its just so so,more of tomato masala taste in it.Chicken patiala was good and did make us enjoy the food with naan and porotta.<br/>Service is good, friendly and we didn't have to wait for so long.<br/>If you are looking for north indian or south Indian cuisine with a good dine in space and ample parking space in kakkanad, then you should definitely try this place.<br/>Over all I would rate a 4.0 for this place in kakkanad!!!

This place has always made me turn back and see whenever I travel to edapally from our place. The ambience and exteriors always attracted me. <br/>On a hot Saturday afternoon after my job interview at infopark, my husband and I were thinking what to do for lunch. No patience to travel till lulu mall or go to vytilla or thripunithura to have lunch at a good place. Then the only thing that struck my mind was Diwan's Durbar. <br/>The extrerior and interior was very attractive. Ambience is good. So do their service. They have sufficient staff to serve. <br/>Items are a little over priced, may be 40 or 50rs more that other places of similar standard. Cuisine is majorly North Indian. We can see their kitchen from the outside and the kababs hanging. We ordered chicken tikka biryani, chicken lolly pop, lime soda and pineapple lime. Items came within 10 to 15 mins of ordering. And that 10 mins also will pass away washing your hands and looking at their interiors and catching a glimpse of what people at other tables are eating. <br/>Chicken lolly pop was the best. To exactly describe, it was crunchy, crispy and juicy with the spices at correct blend. No artificial colours were added unlike the usual chicken lolly pop. The biryani was more of North Indian style and yummy. <br/>I loved the pineapple lime. Perfect ending. <br/>We ordered just limited items as we were not in the mood to parcel the remaining. Ultimately, good place to take your entire family and eat. <br/><br/>P.S There is a very good fish cum vegetable store near to this restaurant, just 2 shops ahead. It was very easy for me to buy the week's veggies and fish for the weekend.

14th feb. Valentines day lunch with my gf. It was my 1st time to diwans durbar . I was quite confused what to order until I saw everyone sittig around my table goig for tandoor items. Even though I am not a big fan of arabic dishesh. I went for the audiance choice and to be frank I wasnt dissapointed . But my girl friends biriyani was not upto to the mark th,e rice and masala had a mismatch . The<br/> ambiance inside the restaurent is simple amazing. I hope it will be much better at night. Next time for dinner

I was there today. To start with the ambience is very good. That's the only positive aspect about the place. Food is just ordinary. <br/><br/>Service is bad. They don't ask if the food is to be served nor do they take the initiative to serve the food. After posting the bill the bearer just threw the receipt on the table. <br/><br/>Attached is the photo of the cold coffee I ordered. They gave a Chocolate shake which I returned and then they gave something called the cold coffee with a lot of ice and the sugar can be seen at the bottom. <br/><br/>My advice is avoid the place. <br/><br/>

Looks good, not feels good . The place looks awesome and having good ambience . If u preferring just hang out place to have food this is the perfect place. But the food taste are not enough to matching with the beauty of the restaurant.I ate lunch from there .The restaurant guy said they are good in northi dishes. So that tried tandoori rotti with banjar ( confused about the dish name , because that is the special dish and not listed in food menu). It doesn't take too much time food reached our table within 10 minutes. The food was not tastiee one. I didn't finish the food because of that i didn't like the food even though i was hungry. So if you need some calm place to spend with your special ones. Go to this place and don't expect more in food taste

Conveniently located near civil station, this place provides delicious food, great ambiance and great staff. Quantity is great and that comes with really tasty food, so quantity and quality at its best. Pricing is a little to the higher end. <br/>The place gives out a great peaceful vibe, a must visit. <br/>

Its clean , nice ambiance and well priced n all but it lacks that one thing that makes it stand apart. There is nothing diff abt this place. That's y I've been here only 2-3 times even though I live so close by.

This place attracted me from the moment i am located at Kakkanad.Beautiful ambiance. Service also was good. Naadan kozhi curry, porottas and roti were ordered. Nothing stands out about the food.

What I love about Diwans is their ambiance.. <br/><br/>Had tried almost all dishes there but some of them was not that good. If I remember I had the worst chicken lollipop from there.

I wanted to rate it 4.0 but I m deducting 0.5 for one reason only, it's too noisy inside the restaurant. So much echo cause of all glass. But Restaurant looks beautiful cause of all glass n green plants outside glass. Food is good. And good place to dine if you can compromise to some noise n echo.

Every time I've crossed this place, I've always made a mental decision to go in at-least once. It looks real grand from the outside. And I finally got to, a couple of days back.<br/><br/>The ambiance is perfect for a huge family gathering. The place is huge, with high ceilings, and glass ceiling to floor walls with an unrestricted view of the greenery outside which is a treat to the eyes!<br/><br/>We wanted something simple, light and North Indianish. Started off with a Creamy Chicken soup. Creamy, thick and delicious, an absolute winner!<br/>Then came Garlic Naan with a side of Paneer Do Pyaza and Chicken Butter Masala. Well, nothing spectacular. The quantities were enough for two people to share. Apart from that, they have nothing to claim. I'm from the North, hence,  I'd call it average!<br/>Rounded off with a Fruit Salad with ice Cream for dessert. Not bad. <br/><br/>My summary : Ambiance takes the cake. Food not so much.
