Review Cocoa Tree - Panampily Nagar - Kochi (Cochin)

Had lunch from Cocoa Tree and loved the overall experience. Loved the ambiance and the Christmas decorations inside the cafe and the staff were very polite and friendly. We had a pizza, hot chocolate and a cheesecake, all of which were really tasty, with the standout being the cheesecake. The prices are on the higher side, but definitely worth the cost for the quality and taste.

Cocoa tree is one of the best cafés in Kochi. I’ve tried many dishes and everything is exceptionally good. The prices are on the higher side. Great ambiance and service. Perfect place to hangout with friends and family.

One of the best places to have pastas, sandwiches, cakes and everything continental. Food always tastes wonderful here . Service is top notch. On the pricier side of the spectrum though. But I would say it is value for money when you consider the quality, taste , presentation etc. Things you should try for sure are 1) steak and Onion sandwich. 2) Stroganoff 3) lasagne 4) cheese cake . Only down side is that there are not much dedicated parking space available to the restaurant. There are plenty of places to park nearby though.

This is one of the best cafes in Kochi. The food tastes really good and the desserts are awesome too. I really love their mudslide and sizzling chocolate brownie. The sandwiches are also good. Also the ambience is good that you can spend time there with your friends. Overall it's a good experience

Every time I find myself in Cochin, this is a particular place that never disappoints, their food, service, and ambiance are truly exceptional. The Lasange Bolognaise they serve there surpasses any I've ever tasted at countless other restaurants (and trust me, I've explored many). It is an absolute standout in terms of flavor and quality. The overall customer experience is nothing short of incredible. Even when I found the peanut butter banoffee shake a little too sweet, they promptly adjusted it to my liking. They also offered to replace it with any other shake from their menu. This level of generosity will definitely bring people back to this place again.

Went in to have desserts. Ended up having a full course dinner. Items are a bit pricey and their quantity a bit on the lower end. However, the taste and quality of the food was worth all of it. The dessert, sizzling brownie looked so yum. But lacked the punch somewhere. Worth a try though.

Some businesses evolve over time Cocao Tree run by one of the pioneering hospitality business groups of Kochi is one such place. It has only got better over time. It is hands down one of the best restaurants in Kochi. The food is always updated the pastries are always top-notch. A place to go when you have to be sure that everything is going to be good.

My wife and I had dinner with her friends at Cocoa Tree. We had a pretty good experience. For starters, we had Asian Style Dragon Wings. For the main course, I had a Pulled Pork Burger which I liked quite a bit. The others had Butter Garlic Prawns and a Chicken Fiesta Pizza both of which they liked. I also had a Cookie Monster milkshake which was as expected. One issue we had was that the items were not delivered in the order you would expect. The wings were delivered after the pizza and so on. Apart from that one issue, we enjoyed our dinner. The service was quite good. Overall, the dinner more or less as expected which was good.

First of all excellent ambience it is very calm and quiet and peaceful environment. The food served was also top quality and extremely tasty and fresh. The service is also very good The service staffs are friendly and helpful. Parking is a little bit problem during peak time. The place is on the first floor and they have decorated the whole stairs with posters which is a nice approach The restaurant is air conditioned. The first thing is the menu is available by scanning a QR code which is placed on every table. And there are places for groups to sit together and enjoy the food. The price is a Little bit expensive but the service and food quality covers that.

Everything is perfect but prices are on little bit higher side. Loved it!

A great place to hang out with friends. Does not take much time to get the food ready. The cold coffee gets a special mention, one of the best. Their spiked potato wedges were great.

Excellent place for coffee, tea plus snacks. They have a full lunch, dinner menu too, but I didnt try that as I visited during late afternoon “coffee” hours. My group ordered Assam tea, Cappuccino and a bread pudding. All the items were very good. Only gave 4 stars as parking is a pain at the location. Otherwise a highly recommended place in Kochi.

Had custard brownie and mudslide.Both of them were very good.Also tried their chicken parmigiana and mushroom pasta. Both were excellent. Highly recommended!!

Cocoa tree has always been a comfortable hang out spot for many. They have all kinds of food, from sophisticated to comfort. Their staff is always well behaved and arrange orders quickly and effectively. The food can be tailor made to your specifics depending on whether you want bacon or how you’d like your English breakfast, which is a good option. Their desserts are the most sought after along with their milkshakes which are a definite sugar overload. I’d recommend their basil pesto and the salads are all crunchy showing that the vegetables used are fresh. <br/>Must try.

The Burger 🍔 was very tasty, I loved the sandwich as well. The lovely ambiance of the restaurant was amazing. The staffs were also very cooperative. <br/>But one thing to be kept in mind is that the prices are really high comparing with the portion of the food they serve.

We are chocolate lovers... Never ever had another cake for birthday. And its choco excess if it's cocoa tree. Well this cake made me change.. I don't know what the chef has put in there, but the flavours just do tango in your mouth. Good one...Cocoa tree

Good ambience , friendly staffs and good service. We decided to go try their cakes having longed it for quiet some time. Liked their carrot cake and the truffle, was a little disappointed with their blue velvet though.

I had only tried the drinks and the desserts which were too good. The staffs were friendly and recommended us good desserts. Mud slide and tiramisu were out of the world. Looking forward to visit and try out other menu.

I've visited this place twice.Good ambience,decent service and delicious food!The first time I had been there we ordered the Chicken Wings,Shrimp Arabiatta Pasta and Tiramisu.All the dishes were yumm!<br/>On our second visit we got Thai Chicken Salad, Crispy Squid, Chicken Alfredo and British Bread Pudding.Absolutely loved the salad and squid but the Alfredo and Bread Pudding lacked quality and quantity.<br/>

Visted with a few friends on short notice. surprisingly it was ful even on weekdays. indicated the greatness. had crsamy soup, tempora prawns(really good), tried out the tenderloin steak with wine sauce(felt over priced in regards to the looks and taste which i had better in less cost) and a few pastries. Food was tasty enough but didn't find very fascinating. However the ambience was great.

On my first visit to Kochi, we went to this Cafe for dinner. As soon as you walk in, you feel good vibes and a sense of comfort. The place is very photogenic.<br/><br/>We sat on a window seat and ordered Pasta, Sandwich and A waffle. Service was quick and staff was quiet helpful.<br/><br/>Food was well prepared and tasted really good. Specially the waffle, it was the ending you want for your meal. The also have a bakery section, so pastry and stuff is readily available.<br/><br/>Altogether we had a good time here. It felt like a nice place to hangout.

Cocoa Tree is part of the Avenue Regent hotel and it shows. This outlet in Panampilly Nagar is tucked upstairs in a building. <br/><br/>The restaurant oozes ambiance and has an overall chic feel to it.<br/><br/>Service was a bit slow, and I had to ask for the servers attention. The food service was relatively quick and to be honest the service did improve. <br/><br/>The menu is nice and varied with tons of choices,<br/><br/>We ordered a coconut smoothie and a cranberry and mint iced tea. Both were extremely refreshing and tasty. 5/5 for the drinks. <br/><br/>The Lasagna was top notch with creamy béchamel sauce and generous amounts of beef. 5/5<br/><br/>The Mac and Cheese came with a slice of garlic bread and though it was a generous portion for a kiddie meal, it could have been a little more cheesier. 4/5<br/><br/>The chili cheese fries was again a generous portion, but the cheese came separate. Again, generous amounts of beef in the dish. The fries were skinny cut fries and the Salsa has just the right amount of heat to it. 5/5<br/><br/>The roast beef sandwich in whole wheat bread was satisfying but not spectacular. It came with a tired coleslaw and skinny cut fries. There was a bowl of watery tomato sauce with it. 3/5<br/><br/>For desserts we had the tender coconut pudding with Praline nuts, the tiramisu and the Swiss forest cake. The desserts were outstanding. 5/5 we also ordered the blueberry cheesecake which was quite disappointing. Not enough cream cheese. 2/5<br/><br/>We ordered a bottle of mineral water and it cost as much as one of the main courses. The only negative bit of the whole experience. <br/><br/>The restaurant is by no means moderately priced, but you do get your money’s worth in terms of taste and quality. <br/><br/>Overall two thumbs up, and I just might have found my new favorite dessert place in Kochi.

Their Caramel Sundae is a must have. So satisfying! Besides the dessert, they have variety options to choose from I personally enjoy the items from their Italian section, the lasagna, the pizzas and the pastas.

Each time I visit Kochi, I have to make a mandatory trip to Cocoa Tree. It is my absolute favorite. If you are a local or a tourist at here and are looking to have good English/Continental food, this is your go to. I have been frequenting this place for the past 4 years and the quality has remained the same right from the start. ie; Impeccable. <br/>They have excellent choices of sandwiches and burgers and the desserts are just out of this world.<br/>We were craving ice cream on the day we visited and decided to try out their Sundaes and boy oh boy were they good.<br/>They are slightly on the costlier side, but totally worth it!<br/>We ordered the Butterscotch Sundae and the Caramel Sundae and both tasted divine.

The oldest and one of the best cafe in panampally nagar. They have a limited menu and price is also reasonable. The food is also upto the mark. My personal favourite is the alfredo pasta and chocolate cake. The ambiece is also nice.

Must try joint in Cochin.I have heard about this place from long time ago only by my best friend from kochi. So we just gotta chance to be here and I took it. It was one of the best decision i took in recent days. Their burgers were mind blowing., especially pulled pork belly burger was my favourite. They've a big collection of pastries to try for.. and staff is very courteous and polite and helpful to place an order, specially mr.shebin is very good. This place was suggested to me by a friend. As a vegetarian, I walked in kinda skeptical about the choices that awaited me.<br/><br/>This entire experience would've been 5 stars, had it not been for the lack of a distinction between veg and non veg items on the menu. A green dot, a leaf, anything to help me differentiate between veg and non veg (except ofc, the detailed description of the dish).<br/><br/>Overall, the food (I tried their Wild Mushroom pasta, potato wedges and Belgian waffle) was top notch. Could not find any glaring shortcomings. The ambience and staff were very welcoming.<br/><br/>I'd definitely hit this place again, the next time I'm in kochi :')

Cocoa tree is my all time favourite hangout place. Good food, nice ambience and excellent service. Menu is kind of very limited, especially considering the drinks section but the available ones are good in quality. They got a gamut of dessert option which taste incredible

I wanted to try online delivery from cocoa tree..so i ordered kyle's beef salad,mud slide and chicken alfredo.. mud slide was classic as usual but my god..kyle's salad was the worst salad I had from any restaurants that i can recall..the beef was rock hard with the salad being very peppery and zero freshness... In one word, regret!.. Chicken alfredo was good but the quantity of Chicken in the pasta compared to the price (310) was very meagre.. overall.. I would suggest to opt for dine out rather than order..also run away as fast as you can from kyle's beef!

Hii..<br/>We today had herb roasted chicken , chicken parimijiana , barbeque pork , Five veg lasanga and passion &lime too..<br/>We really had a great experience, the served food was really delicious and mind blowing flavour which full filled our heart along with the hungry stomachs 😝.<br/>Comming to the serving, it was extra ordinary . service of Gokul was great , he was so nice to us and very helpful in every manner , Haven't seen such a man before with such a discipline and pleasing character.<br/><br/>Thank you for a great lunch time.

One of the best restaurants in Kochi. It is way above Kochi standards of dining. Contemporary decor, and a frequent hangout for the who’s who in Kochi. The menu offers very tasty and creative dishes. Lots of variety. Awesome desserts that are made fresh and get over really quickly. My favorite place with a chilled out ambience.

The restaurant is great. I’m huge fan of their Carbonara pasta but this time I decided to try their Chicken Ceasar salad and Tenderloin Steak. Salad was good but next time I will ask them to send the sauce apart so I can use less, it’s basically made of mayo. And I had the Tenderloin steak in red wine sauce, but it was a bit down the sauce. I believe they make it with grape juice or some kind of sweet wine because the sauce was sweet, very sweet, not even the salt I added could correct it. The beef was cooked to perfection, mash potato was delicious, but the sauce spoiled the meal, unfortunately. I think we should go for mushroom sauce when ordering it there.

I had Flutter Nutter shake and it was quite different and good. The desert Mudslide was okay. <br/>The staff is courteous and they have a thorough Understanding of the Menu.

I honestly don't think I've ever had a bad experience with anything here. And I've tried out most of the menu by this point. The staff is excellent, the food is great and the place is well maintained.

I’m a fan of cocoa tree! Everything about them is just awesome. Last month I was doing a no sugar diet and they were so professional enough to get me a fresh lime mojito, Without any sugar and gave me sugar free packets. That whole month, no other restaurant I went to did something like this. I was only able to drink water 😐 Most places use premade mixes and sugary syrups and all. I was so happy that they make everything from scratch. Good work team! 😍

The very first place that comes to mind when you think about socializing and chit-chatting over great food! The go-to place for burgers and sandwiches for years. Too bad they don't have the Excess Choco Avalanche sizzler anymore, although the Mudslide is another go-to dessert for me. Love their Lasagna too!

One of the best restaurants that I have been too. The food is really delicious. It's a bit pricey but when you taste the food you really feel that it's worth. My all time favourite. Highly recommended to visit this place to please your taste buds..

Cocoa Tree is my favourite place at Kochi! They have got a great menu and honestly I find it really hard to pick my favourite food here coz I love everything served here. Some of my favourites include:<br/><br/>Carbonara: Pasta with chicken and bacon in creamy sauce is yummy.<br/><br/>Parmigiana: I love this crumb fried chicken with cheese toppings.<br/><br/>Custard brownie and Chocolate excess: These two are mandatory and all the chocolate lovers out there should try it.

It's a nice place to dine. Ambience is pretty good. Out of the dishes we ordered the one I loved was chicken and mushroom waffle. Even chicken tenders, chicken parmigiana etc are good items to try. But personally speaking I dint like the item called fish and chips.<br/>I would come here again for the ambience and service but not for tasty food.

Another beautiful looking cafe, with lovely ambience. Has a wide range of dishes and drinks to pick from. It's all good.<br/><br/>But the problem is, as soon as you enter here and have a seat - everything around you gets "3 times" SLOWER. Starting from taking the order till you get your bill. <br/>Sometimes, we can understand - maybe it's a weekend and could be crowded, or you may always want to provide us with best without compromising on the quality. But 4 minutes (yes, I did watch the time) to bring a steel SPOON..?<br/><br/>-Keeping the time lag aside, everything is just brilliant. Also there's more than enough space for car parking. Their milk shakes like- Snicker Knicker and Chocolate Excess are definitely worth a try!<br/><br/>-People spend an average of 1-2 hours over here. Average wait time for 2 Chocolate shake is about 25 minutes - could be more or less depending on the item and hour.<br/><br/>P.S. It's usually pretty much house full on the weekends. Have to wait till you can get a table.

Perfect for a little romantic endeavor.Beautiful interior and courteous staff.Coming to the food,the sandwiches and burgers are pretty decent but the milkshakes are one of the finest in Kochi.The Oreo milkshake is the best Oreo milkshake in entire Kochi.The peanut butter milkshake is also amazing.Overall a beautiful cafe worth visiting more than once.Kudos.

One of my favourite places in the city. It's one of the best in the city.This place is neatly done and always crowded.If you need a peaceful atmosphere I would suggest their Pallimukku outlet I found it more calm and peaceful. They have some exotic desserts that makes me visit this place more often. Mudslide, custard brownie , blueberry cheesecake and waffles are my favourites in the dessert menu. Every visit to cocoa tree is incomplete without any of these . Penne arabiatta with chicken is my favourite from their main course. A must visit place. Highly recommended

Loved this place. Awesome ambiance and awesome service. And the food is excellent. Quality and quantity is matched well. Interior looks very good. I had visited this place a lot. And today got a chance to try chicken Thai salad and iced tea with honey. Both tasted good.

A nice cafe with quiet ambience. Had tried the pan seared fish and cocoa crunch. Both were delicious.<br/>The only thing probably they can improve is the service time. It took me roughly half an hour to get my order which as per me is slightly above the expected time.<br/>It is quite affordable too.

As we all know Panampalli became the heart of ernakulam. There are many food joints and this is one of the popular among them i guess. Tried most of the items and had a very good experience.

Amazing ambience and good service... everything about this restaurant is good... Visited this place for brunch today. Place was very crowded and took half an hour for placing order. Food was good, staff was friendly and pastries were amazing. Prices are very reasonable and I would refer place for breakfast.

A happy place for a date of sorts. Ambience is extravagant and the food is lip smacking. I would love to go there over and over again with my friends or a loved one.<br/><br/>Tiramisu was my favourite!<br/>The flavour of coffee was subtly making it's way through the mascarpone cheese leaving you with a smooth after taste.<br/>Just to let you know that the waiters are good enough to not shoo you away for sitting long.

I have been a frequent customer in cocoa tree. First came to the cafe four years ago and fell in love with it. Have tried almost everything in the old menu as well as the revised menu. I gotta say that it's one of the best cafes around and if any of my friends or family are visiting kochi I'll definitely bring them to any branch. Hope you keep up the service and the good work. It's amazing!!!

I would highly recommend this place.<br/>Their pastas aren't that great but I pretty much like all the drinks they serve.<br/>The staff kinda ignores you sometimes, didn't serve me water a couple of times and had to ask for it .

The chicken wings- its a good one to try for. But dont forget the mudslide, its one hell of a thing a desert lover in one sjould try for. Also belgian waffes, are good

This place serves some lip smacking dishes. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was great too. Tried variety of things but the Lasagna Bolognese stood out. Also try out the dessert section. A perfect place to hangout. Highly recommended.<br/>

Hands down the best café of Kochi, no competition whatsoever. What’s good here? Everything :) Their roast beef sandwich is a must try and don’t forget the ultimate dessert - mudslide!

One of my favorite eat puts in Kochi. Amazing range of food. Plenty of options in the menu. Very friendly staff. Ample parking space. Wish there was more smaller portions of food cos everything is huge lol.

Went here for a family dinner, had heard good things about the place. Liked the decor, ambiance and service the verity, quality, quantity and taste of the food provided was quite good except for a few setbacks.<br/>Crispy calamari in dragon sauce: while the taste and presentation was really good the calamari in itself was completely overdone which was quite disappointing given that this was the most raves about dish. The rubbery texture was a let down. <br/>Mixed grill: ample for one person with a good appetite to eat, the sauce is quite good, a good wholesome meal and worth the price. <br/>Pan seared fish: excellent dish, very nicely flavoured with herbs and good portion size.<br/>Fisherman’s pie: what a hearty meal perfect for cheat day, generous amount of assorted seafood, rich sauces and cheeses topped with mashed potato. <br/>Blueberry cheese cake: creamy texture, great end to your meal not as sweet which is just how I like it. <br/>Tiramisu: a good attempt but overtly sweet expect an immediate sugar rush. <br/>Coffee: ah what a perfect ending <br/>A great place to have a meal or just hangout mostly good food.

The taste of sizzling hot chocolate still remains ❤ I'd rate a 4.5 on 5 for that. The pasta I had ordered wasn't up to my expectations. It has a great ambience. Deserts are pretty good here.

Can't blame much rather applaud the quality food we had...the burgers, sandwiches and pastas are too good.<br/>Had the beef roast sandwich was too good and the pesto chicken was crazy!<br/>If your the burger fan steak house is a good option...<br/>Don't forget to leave without having the deserts...it's very hard to choose among them...had the Mudslide and it was ❤️<br/>They just got to improve their service and be much quicker..had to wait a lot even on a non busy day!

Update as of 1st Jan 2019:<br/><br/>Changed rating from 5 to 2 stars. I had decided to treat my business partners to a dinner at cocoa tree pannampilly for the new year. It was an embarrassing experience. First up, we thought of having something fried and crispy so I called the waiter and asked for one of my favourites, a basket of chicken tenders. The waiter had a smug look on his face and with a teasing smile asked me “don’t you know that’s part of the kids menu”. What it felt like was “are you hip enough be come and eat here ?”<br/><br/>Ignoring his attitude we said that’s fine we would like to have it anyways. We also ordered beverages. When the tenders came they looked and tasted burnt. I have attached pics. When we informed the waiter that they tasted burnt, he immediately responded that that’s the way they are served here. When we insisted, he took the basket to the kitchen and came back saying “the chef says they are not burnt”. I didn’t want to argue further.<br/><br/>At that point I asked for the bill and took my partners to at Bab Arabia for dinner. Not a nice experience for the first day of the year.<br/><br/>My previous review:<br/>Cocoa tree is a frequent meeting spot for catching up with friends or for having a business meeting outside the office. It has a variety of tasty offerings (slightly pricey), and good clean ambience.

I absolutely loved the service, the crowd and the ambiance at Cocoa tree! The perfect place for an evening coffee especially after a long drive in Kochi :) The british pudding cake is a must try for everyone with a sweet tooth and all the coffees are the perfect flavour. The price is also reasonable for the food :)

3 star just for the mudslide, other than that I tried caramel latte and the mix grill. The mix grill was a deal breaker for me. They don't have much of a parking space but you would get enough parking spaces around.

Good place to hangout with people you love. Quantity is good. The squid dragon style is my favorite here. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. But pricey though.

i just love the ambience. the food is also damn good but the prices are bit high. but it copes up with the taste.good food makes your tummy happy. the basil pasta was one good treat.

Always a good spot for great food and a good ambience. It's the perfect spot for when you want a good meal with just yourself or even if you want to catch up with your friends.

The ambience is pretty impressive. The place gets crowded at times, but the quality of food is excellent. The menu feels a bit pricy , but is worth the service offered!

So went to Cocoa Tree finally! A place a foodie in Kochi cannot miss! Decided to try this Beef Roast Sandwich for mains. An average sandwich would say. The mustard sauce in the sandwich didn't really go with the beef. As for desserts, got the much hyped about 'Mudslide'! To be honest I found the quantity very less compared to what I had seen in pictures. For a scoop of ice-cream, some caramel crumble and brownies, this was not worth the money! One of the most known cafe in Kochi I would say! The interior was very impressive. The food serving was on point. Ordered a Beef Roast Sandwich for mains and one of their signature desserts - The Mudslide! Loved their varieties on menu and would go there again to try more of them! Tess George

As usual, found this place via Zomato. Our choice for a good lunch and dessert!<br/>The restaurant is really cozy and staff is really courteous.<br/>We got a table without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon.<br/>The food was well made, especially the Pasta and the burger.<br/>However, the fish and chips was a let down. The fish was made like the local banana fritters which did not taste good.<br/>The desserts, as expected, were brilliant! We got the Custard brownie and the Raspberry red velvet. Yum!

Have been going to this cafe since the past 5 years or so. Cocoa Tree is the one cafe that gives out good vibes always.<br/>The staff is friendly and warm and their service is prompt. If the place is crowded, there will be a slight delay in getting the order served, but that can be neglected easily. I have always been able to get a place to sit even during peak hours.<br/>The place has been beautifully and tastefully decorated and the ambience is what we could describe as tip-top.<br/>Speaking about the food, nothing has ever disappointed me. Each dish or drink has its own distinct taste. The beef lasagna is the best in Kochi. Other dishes which deserves special mention are Basil pesto pasta, Shepard's pie and Waffles in chicken and mushroom sauce. Desserts like Tiramisu, Mud Slide and Sizzlers are out of the world.
