Review David Hall Gallery Cafe - Kochi (Cochin)

Jonathan Syiemlieh
Beautiful aesthetic cafe and art gallery with multi cuisine options. Their Peabody brewed coffee is a must try. One can sip on coffee, munch on pastries and muffins and observe the meticulous art work across different halls. The cafe is located in a spacious green garden surrounded by tall palm trees with an old well. It has two entrances and the washrooms are spick and span sparkling clean. There was a gentleman who was playing some great classics on a saxophone. Definitely coming back here for the charm and delightful ambience.

We stumbled upon this charming cafe and deli during our visit to Kochi, and it exceeded all our expectations! The cozy ambiance, coupled with friendly staff, instantly made us feel welcome. The menu had an impressive selection of delicious sandwiches, salads, and delightful bake goods. We couldn't resist trying their special coffee, and it was a true treat for our taste buds. What set this place apart was the attention to detail and the use of fresh, local ingredients. Every bite was bursting with flavor! Whether you're looking for a quick coffee stop or a scrumptious meal, this cafe and deli in Kochi is a must-visit. We can't wait to go back for more! 😍👌

This cafe is a mesmerizing escape, where nature and taste harmonize to create an unforgettable experience. The moment you step inside, you're cocooned in an ambiance that's a perfect blend of greeny, earthy, and cozy. It's like being transported to a secret garden of tranquility. Now, about the food – it's a culinary delight that tantalizes your taste buds. The thin-crust, hand-tossed pizza is a revelation. Every slice is a masterpiece, leaving you yearning for more. And those tacos! They're not just delicious; they're a flavor explosion. While the vegetarian options are slightly outnumbered by the non-veg choices, what's on offer is pure magic. Each dish is a mouthwatering symphony of flavors that lingers long after the meal is over. Expect crowds, though. You might have to wait for a table, but every second is worth it. It's my go-to spot for unwinding, and the food leaves me utterly speechless. Oh, and let's not forget the impeccable washrooms – they're spotlessly clean, a rare and welcome find. The service? Top-notch. David Hall Pandhal Cafe isn't just a cafe; it's a sanctuary where you indulge in the best of nature, food, and service, leaving you eagerly anticipating your next visit.

Went on Christmas Eve. Everything about this place is great. The food was excellent. Heaven for non vegetarians. Special mention to Mr. Martin who waited the table for us. He was such a friendly face and even explained the intricacies of the plum cake and rum porridge they sell.

We tried the bakery here for our brunch and it was worth it. Everything was fresh and had good taste. We tried blueberry cheesecake, eclairs, cream donuts, chicken pie. And everything was good, not too sweet and just perfect. Have heard good about the food here.

Absolutely loved the experience. The ambiance is simply amazing. I’m a vegetarian so I’m usually apprehensive about such places but DAMN the vegetarian food was great! I had the Corn ribs and tomato soup that came with sour bread and I think that’s the best bread I’ve had. The texture was 🤌🏽 The staff is really friendly and gives good suggestions and make good conversations! :)

I love the art exhibits and the food even more!!! The overall ambience is very appealing be it day or night. Quite comfortable despite the humidity outdoors as plenty of fans and blowers are placed. Very courteous staff! Highly recommended - Pizzas

Place is nice and fresh, pizza is really wonderful. But the service is quite bad; we had to ask twice just to get glasses for water. And coffee & chai which we ordered took 40 minutes to prepare (!!) We finished our pizza and drinks have still not arrived. So we thought they forgot and decided to leave. Only then waiter suddenly brought drinks. But we said at checkout that drinks were not consumed, so they removed it from the bill without issue. So even though they were terribly slow, service were still polite and fair.

The food is good. It’s also the only food joint open till 9.15pm We had the Mediterranean breakfast and scrambled eggs. Good stuff. The coffee and donuts - not good. But the ambience is great. Definitely check it out.

Hi Team, Pandhal Cafe. Thank you for your hospitality. This place is located at the charming street of Fort Kochi. I am amused by their art collection at their gallery. Café has a nice outdoor seating. Must not forget to try bakery items out there. They just sooo good. Also stop by to say Hello to chef Tanya.

Tried Chicken Pizza and it was quite good, loved it..:).but was astonished about the lemon soda as it was over priced..:(

Great name and great pizza. What more can you ask for. 5 Star.

David Hall Gallery Cafe is a nice open outdoorsy cafe with a classy decor and soothing ambience.
The cafe is famous for its pizzas and boy do they live up to the hype! I ordered a simple margarita pizza on a sunny afternoon. The pizza had such wonderful flavor, richness in the sauce and a crunchy thin crust. What a delight.
Another upside is that the service here is prompt. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

David hall cafe and art gallery is opposite to parade ground. Their are lots of paintings from various artists. Went there for their pizza which was said to be made in brick oven. As heard, the pizza is made live infront of us in the brick oven. Ordered the all day breakfast pizza and it was delicious. Also a mixed platter which had enough items to treat all the taste buds veg, non veg and sea food. All in all a calm peaceful place to have a slice of pizza and lemonade.

Located in fortkochi near to parade ground
.
When we get into that place we all see the painting of many artists, and the main strength of this cafe is their pizza it's is made in front of us by the only one chef. And the pizza is very thin in size and we all love it for sure..
Dr. Sneha Raj
Small exhibit with modern art and an outdoor seated café at the back. Wide range of thin crusted pizzas. Earth pizza is a must have. Tomato soup with croutons is a delish affair. Cheese Tart is another lip-smacking dessert to have here.

This place should be on your list if you're in Kochi. David Hall is one of those sophisticated cafes which provides you delicious food and live music. I had a nice mocktail and while I was there Miller Pucket was performing so loved it very much. My first visit to this cafe. The ambiance was really romantic and cozy. Go early if you happen to be there in the evening so that you can get a seat to encounter the performance as well.

Tried this place out with my family last Easter evening. We had all filled our tummies with the Easter lunch and thought we'll hang out somewhere. The place was a cute little cafe near parade ground. The entrance opened up to a cafe with a lot of interesting painting exhibits. I later learnt that they are part of the biennale exhibits. The cafe itself is a open air joint with a limited menu.
We were a group of 8 and ordered a Chicken Pizza, All day breakfast pizza, a Mac and Cheese and a Ceasar salad.

The pizzas were all made to order and were really good. Both the pizzas were thin crust and had good flavour. The chicken pizza had a judicious amount of shredded chicken and basil leaves. The All day breakfast pizza had a egg base with bacon and chunks of sausage.

The Mac and cheese tasted as if it came out of a packet. It was dry on top and the cheese didn't even taste like cheese. The Ceasar salad too was a let down. We felt that the dressing sort of over powered the salad.

Upto now the place wasn't bad. I mean 2/4 isn't that bad. But what actually took us by surprise was the attitude of the staff. When we entered the place, it was empty which was expected since it was only around 6. But as we settled down, we saw the staff giving side glances in a not so friendly manner. Soon a foreign couple came in and their attitude towards them was completely different. We saw people running up to them with wide smiles and taking their orders with a lot of interest while we are serviced with a much contrasting attitude.

In a nutshell, the place is interesting in terms of food especially the pizzas. Wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese. But when it comes to customer service, the place is a failure.

Me and friends had very worst experience from here last month ..
We ordered for mushroom and bbq pizza from there and It was total disappointment for us !!

Just love the ambiance and the food is very good. I am a regular customer of david hall and I'll highly recommend this place to everyone. ❤❤❤

Highlight of the place:
*Live pizza making
*Ambience
*Cheese tart

I ordered Margherita and Earth. Margherita was ok but Earth dint reach my taste buds at all. It had spinach, olive and cheese but I loved pizzas being extremely thin. May be I will try their non veg pizzas next time and write up a review.

Cheese tart was yummmm.. I loved it. Place deserves a special mention. Serene and spacious. A little compromise on the taste and you can enjoy a good evening here.

Amazing pizzas! Tried the “make your own” with pepperoni, chicken and cheese. Loved the in house tomato base for the thin crust. Would definitely recommend it.

Found this place very interesting, had booked another restaurant but ate here. The pizza maker was fantastic. He was rolling out Pizza 🍕 non stop. Had to wait for a table but was worth it. Thank you 🙏🏻

David Hall Gallery Cafe serves the best pizza in Town. I done my post graduation in 2016 from Kochi. I missed this place during my studies, my batchmates who is local ( Kochikar ) always talk about David Hall Gallery Cafe. I m not a fan of pizza.
When i moved to bangalore for my carrear. I started loving with Junk foods, of-course pizza too. My Colleagues or friends travelling to kochi for vacations will ask me for food suggestion. Pizza from David hall is always suggested for all. Everyone given good feedback. Btw I never been this place.

Last week ( After three years ) I travelled Cochin back for College reunion with a list of exploring okd and new food places in Cochin. David hall was the main checkin place in the list.

David Hall, old Dutch bunglow which is one of the venue for Kochi Muzris Biennale 2018. Good art work installations can witness on the walls of the David Hall bunglow. Its a oldest place in Fort kochi. Backside of the hall , with a beautiful garden cafe with outdoor seating. Perfect picturesque location for instagrammers n bloggers. They have customised ( hand fresh toppings ) pizza and Menu based pizzas. We chosen chicken pizza, best crust pizza ever had. Very juicy and soft pizza. Strongly recommended again to pizza lovers

The earth is best seller in Veg pizza. Cheese tart and Ice tea are the other attractions in Menu ( Must have items ). Basically I m not a sweet tooth. Cheese tart was good only.
The pizza was great and so were the garlic knots and the cheese tart. I loved the ambience and with the live music in David Hall Gallery Cafe during the Biennale. A must visit place! =)

This is my first visit to one of the most iconic coffee shops of Fort Kochi. So the place being one of the Biennale venues only helped. Their wood-fire oven Pizzas are legendary and I wasn't going to miss out on that. So my friend Priyanka Subramanian has this kick-ass idea of ordering a half-n-half of a margarita and a meatball. Let's cut the chase- it was so good! We tried their masala chai too, which wasn't to our taste, but the pizza made up for it coz it made for a great combo.

An interesting cafe inside an art gallery. We ordered a pizza and a seafood spaghetti. Both items were under seasoned and the spaghetti was as thick as udon noodles and not al a dente. Nevertheless that re cooked it for us upon request this time the way we preferred using a thinner pasta variety (n.5 spaghetti).
Overall a decent experience.
Ambience 5/5
Food 3/5

My husband and I wanted to try out a different place for dinner in Fort Kochi and we opted for David Hall because we were in the mood for pizzas. So glad we chose this place. It did not disappoint! The thin crust, Fort Kochi Pizza with tuna, prawns and squid was undoubtedly very different from the usual pizzas we order and to add to our surprise it was outstanding. The evening ambience was quite relaxing and peaceful. You get to actually see firsthand how your Pizza is being made right in front of you. I think that’s wonderful. Not to mention the nice art work displayed on the walls of the gallery. Overall a great experience. We will definitely go back for our fix of wood fired pizzas.

Having heard rave reviews about the Cheese Tart here, I'd been wanting to visit the place for quite some time. When I finally did, I realized I didn't have much of a sweet tooth, and that the cheese tart was not something that would make me come back. But their pizza had other plans for me. The fire baked pizza is among the juiciest pizzas I have had, and I loved that I could pick whatever toppings I wanted, rather than going by a set template. So I'm definitely going back for the fresh hand-made pizzas they serve. Ambiance is good, just don't go there too late in the evenings coz the mosquitoes will not let you eat in peace. They sometimes have live music performances too.

A beautiful Dutch bungalow in Fort Kochi, with an art gallery and a small cafe. More than the food, it is the serenity of the place that we loved. It has a beautiful courtyard as well.

About food.. We had chicken pizza. It was a simple thin crust one. Didn't have a lot of toppings. However, we still liked it. The ice tea was good as well.

If you are in Fort Kochi, I would recommend that you visit this place atleast once :).
Akhila Antony
Best place to have pizza...this cafe is situated in the inner part of a art gallery...the atmosphere is open relaxing and beautiful too...pizzas are so tastey here one can watch making pizza live infront of them and can enjoy hot and fresh pizza too...cost is worth the service and food...pizza lovers just step in 😍
Francis Rohan
The ice tea here is one among the best in the city. Absolutely delicious with a mix of honey in it too.
The pizza, I felt was over hyped as it didn't have much topping and could barely fill two people even after we had the cheese omelet which was decent.

The cafe doubles as an art gallery too! Pretty cool to look around while waiting for the food to arrive..

Visited david hall just to try out their pizzas . its a calm and beautiful place ....we orderd chicken pizza and iced tea. Pizza was made right in front of us in open kitchen and baked in masonry oven .When our pizzas arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The crust was crisp, flavorful, with good amount of chicken, the mozarella had a great consistency and very little oil. Iced tea was one of the best that i have had, its a must try...By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit ..One of the best places to go for authentic pizza.
Roger Vimil
Best iced tea in kochi. With a super slim pizza, hand toasted. Great ambience. A collection of painting and drawings in the art gallery. This is located next to parade ground in kochi.

David hall is for art and pizza lovers ...If you ask me ,you get the best pizza in kochi from here without doubt. Thin , Tasty and good crusted pizza.
Johny
Friendly staff...., very nice and cool place. Tasty food......I never had a tasty pizza anywhere in kochi...... I will give 5 start.........
Sidharth C.R
A pretty good place to catch up.. It offers pizzas that are wood fried and thin crust but the pricey part of it would be for a down) thumbs down for me. What is most spectacular is the comfortably silent and arty interiors and good benches to sit that offers me a look into this Cafe. Hot chocolate is dry and pathetic hence please do not go for it. Ice tea and lemonade is pretty good.

Look out for the artwork inside.
In house music should be there but I could not find it today afternoon..

Oh yes and they did host our kochi biennale too!
Ishani Shenoy
Lovely place with great pizza and refreshing ice teas. Their margarita pizza is delicious, when it’s fresh out of the oven. The overall ambience is very calm with trees and plants all over. The seating could be more comfortable.
Maria
one of the finest place in fort Kochi. The garden cafe of David hall is just wonderful. It has a very good ambiance and such a peaceful place. The pizza that they give us are so fresh that it is made in front of us. And I should say that 3 people can lavishly have one.

Lovely place! Quiet and not very crowded. David Hall gallery cafe is indeed an art cafe, where the entering area is filled with paintings and other art works. When you navigate towards the back, there is the cafe with a backyard. They usually have some sort of exhibit going on, which adds to the charm. The wood fire pizzas are amazing. The staffs are courteous and doesn't bother you while you're enjoying your peaceful meal in the heritage building.Kudos for making a concerted effort to cater for the vegan community. What a novelty it was to be able to order a fully vegan pizza! We chose the H for healthy pizza topped with veggie mix and a delicious cashew and basil cheese. We also had coconut milk stew with appam which was light and perfectly balanced. The chicken pizza we ordered was not up to the expectation. The ice tea was spot on.
Sangeeth Sivan
This is one of the best places for authentic pizza in Kochi. The margherita was so good! The cafe setting is also quite nice and peaceful. It’s right next to the beach, so it’s a good spot to relax and have some coffee too. Also, if you’re into art, they do have some exhibits. Some of them are on sale too.
Yadu Krishna
Good place to eat in peace.Great combination of art and food.We ate chicken pizza and some seasonal fruit juice.Food is ohk but the ambience is exceptional. Also the price is quite high.Since it is monsoon beware of mosquito bites 😁

Chicken Pizza
( One of the thinnest crust chicken pizza in kochi. It’s so thin with accurate amount of sauce cheese chicken and chillies. It’s baked in the brick oven with hot flames. Perfectly cooked and yummy. Makes our tummy full)
.
.
David Hall Cafe
Price: 330/- (don’t rmbr exact price)
Personal Rating: 4.6/5

Visited this place just because of the rating but wasn't a great experience. I loved their pizzas. Went for dinner.but the pizzas they serve is just like starters .You need to have at least 1 ful pizza, still it won't fill your stomach. Its not pricey.
Not advised for dinner. Because of mosquito bite we wernt able to enjoy a bit.
Niaz Ahamed
One of the best pizzas available in an around kochi!. Pair it with the refreshing iced tea and you have a completely satisfying meal. A side of fish n Chips would help if you are that extra bit hungry. 😉
Achuu
A very calm and serene place which serves good food. As it's said they serve the best PIZZAS in town. It's prepared in the traditional way right in front of us. Absolutely love the ambience.❤❤❤❤
Reshma Rashna Harikumar
The David Hall Cafe is in the backyard of David Hall Gallery and hence like any of the beautiful eating places located within an art space boasts of a fantastic ambience for meals. Their wood fired oven pizzas are to die for. The Earth and Green pizzas were delicious with charred veggies on top that were set off on a great base.
Pro Tip - Consider going to the Cafe in mornings to enjoy the garden swings and avoid being bitten alive by mosquitoes.
Sylish.h
5 stars for the ambience. Regretted getting there after sunset. I feel that early evening would be apt to visit this cafe. The music which is not loud but yet not inaudible. Perfect for wonderful conversations with people. The art gallery opens up to a landscape of manicured grass , banana trees. Very interesting place.
Had Chilli Toast
Chicken Pizza
Orange juice
Latte
Now chilli toast i felt was not commendable or could say avoidable. Chicken pizza was fresh and succulent. The basil leaves and a dash oregano bought out a lot of wonderful flavours. Minced chicken on thin crust just was a great combo.
All i missed is having a smoke with my coffee.
Anmol Rawat
A very beautifully located cafe in this area. It's right opposite to the playground. The art cafe house beautiful art work at the entrance and as one enters further, he is welcomed by an 90s decor living room with music being played through an old music player, adding to the ambience. When you finally enter the garden area where the actual cafe is, the location surprises you further. The gardens are well maintained and seating area is pretty. Coming to the food, the best part about it is that they prepare the pizza in from of your own eyes 😍. We ordered a chicken pizza, a banana Nutella calzone and for the beverages, an iced tea and lime soda. The pizza was exquisite, thin crust, freshly baked, the calzone was ok, not as good as I read in the reviews. The beverages were nice. It's definitely a place worth going, especially if you're a couple.

This is such a lovely gallery and cafe space. Enjoy your pizza outdoors with a delightful breeze and yummy cold drink. Each time I have gone the food has been good, the service simple, usually attentive (depends on the time of year you go) I keep going back again and again. If in fort kochi this is a definite stop in and you might see an awesome show on display or better yet, one of their events.
Arpana Venu
I had visited this awesome place with my friend recently. We had fresh veggie pizza and iced tea. The ambience is really good. We can actually see them making pizza in front of our eyes and they are really professional in making delicious pizza. The iced tea was served in the form of four layers- mint leaves and honey on the bottom, then lemonade, tea and crushed ice. The cost of 10inch pizza is 320 and iced tea costs 90/-
The art cafe is beautifully adorned with excellent paintings and even in the cafe area you can see potted aloe vera and Indian Oregano hanging on the walls.
This is a must visit place to those who would wish to spend some time in a serene atmosphere and try out pizza with authentic flavours and refreshing iced teas. You may also try out the other items on the menu as I am sure they would all be good.
Overall I can give 5/5 for their awesome ambience, delicious food and kind service.
Janu V. Kumar
Enjoyed our visit to this place where we could witness the pizza being made. My son enjoyed that session a lot. And the pizza was exceptionally good. Will definitely go back for more...
Rizwana
Their thin crust pizzas are the best in town. They have the best hand tossed pizzas in Cochin. The ambience is just beautiful. Their blueberry cheesecake is a must try.
Deepthi Sreenath
Love their pizza, it's very authentic and fresh. Love their ambience. So peaceful and calm. The service is good. The rates are reasonable because of the quality and quantity of food.
Aswin John
Had pizza and the banana Nutella calzone at David Hall. Hats off to the chef. The thin crust meat pizza was fresh and flavoursome. Peaceful atmosphere and great ambience. Must visit in Fort Kochi just for their pizzas
Rushi S Joshi
The place is an old bungalow, beautifully created into an art cafe. The ambience is mesmerizing.
I ordered pizza, and they make the dough for the pizza base in front of you. The rest of the process including the baking in their earthen oven will be enchanting.
The thin crust pizza were delicious; the garden sitting was the highlight.

The waiter was wierd for he was staring even though he was courteous.

One of the best pizza served in kochi . Pretty cool place . Great ambiance and service. Staffs are very courteous. They bakes the pizza right in front of you . Their iced tea is a star . Highly recommended.

Lovely Ambience, Excellent Pizza and very good service.
The idea of making the pizza right in front of us , from the dough kneading till the final Pizza in front of us is very good. I recommend this place to anyone who visits Kochi.

An old, small dutch bungalow in Fort Kochi sets the perfect ambience for a quiet dinner with family or a romantic evening. David Hall, even with its limited menu options totally won my heart! One can either choose from the 5-6 options pre-set pizza options they have or choose your own toppings and create a pizza. To taste authentic Italian pizzas baked in a traditional oven, one should surely head to David Hall. Definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve tasted in Kochi. Thin crust, light, extremely tasty pizzas! I tried the earth pizza and green pizza and loved both! For dessert, I ordered a cupcake. Very light and fluffy, the cupcake was baked to perfection. However, the starters were average. I ordered a chilli cheese toast, which was good but nothing exceptional. Their French fries on the other hand were well seasoned and crisp! This place is surely worth a visit. Since they have very limited seating, I would recommend calling them up before going there.
Marisa Aashiq
One of the best pizza served in kochi👌
Best part is you can choose your own toppings apart from the set menu of pizzas.. they bake it right in front of you starting with the dough😍
Totally recommending it... there cheese tart is another dessert to die for... so yummy..
The special for the day was banana chocolate calazone... it was worth trying..

Ambience so perfect for friends meetup or family getaway and ideal for the romantic couple 😄

One the best pizzas I have ever had !! The ambience is very pleasant and peaceful. The quality of food is very good. Must visit place if you are in Kochi !!
Stibin Raphel
Well if you are into pizza's you just found out the right place, it's the best place in kochi for pizza. The place ambience is pretty good and the food is also pretty good. If you are planning to visit the place make it at evenings because it will be better. We ordered a earth pizza which pretty good. The main attraction is that we can see how the pizza is been made. The place is worst worth visit for sure.
Roshinee R
The location is lovely for sure and that's one of the reasons why I visited it during the time of the Kochi Biennale. However, I chose to go at noon and it can get pretty hot in the outdoor setting. I feel evening would be a better time. Instead of the pizzas the place is famous for, I ordered seafood linguine and it wasn't great. The place was understaffed and since this was my first visit to the place, I don't know if that day was the exception. The chef was overworked and wasn't cheerful either. I really hope this was an exception and not the norm since the place is too lovely and I expected the food and service to match up too.
Jayakumar Janardhanan
Best pizza in Kochi. Period.
(We had the chicken-basil pizza which I felt as the best in town. The menu offers you very little choices but all of those are extremely good.)

Food : 5/5
Ambience : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Sarvajeet Soman
A beautiful place with an all day breakfast option. The breakfast options are good and not expensive compared to Oy's cafes breakfast which are not worth it. Also place has good seating options laid out under a hut and bamboo type setting which is actually good. You can enjoy this place much more when it's raining. Would recommend the pizza's and omelettes for breakfast and their Chicken Biriyani is also worth a try!
Jose Paul
Best place to chill and fill your tummys. Ambience and Food is top notch. Clay oven Pizzas are the best attraction. One could choose between thier own tastes for pizzas too. Do visit.
Bigtimefoodie
We visited on May 25, Thursday for lunch at around 1215 pm.
Location : easy to find, being opposite parade ground and easily accessible with lots of parking space

What we ordered: we were four in number and we ordered the all day breakfast pizza, g for green pizza, chicken chapati wrap, vanilla cupcake, mint lemon, green tea and cappuccino. We asked for cheese tart but they had run out of it.

Food quality: the pizzas were really really really good. The crust was thin and crisp though not overly so. The cheese was just right in both pizzas - not drenched in it nor too scarce to taste - stretchy stringy cheese, all gooey and yummy. All day b'fast pizza had eggs, sausages and pepperoni. The g for green pizza had spinach and basil. The meat was great quality. The veg pizza was great too. The balance of flavours was bang on. Medium sized with eight slices, two pizzas are perfect for three very very hungry people. The chicken chapati wrap tasted great but the stuffing was a bit too oily. It was served with a decent tasting salad on the side. Quantity-wise, a hungry person will feel stuffed eating it.
The drinks were okay: nothing to rave about. The cupcakes were a miss sadly. They were dry and flat tasting; the staff tried to compensate by drenching it in chocolate ganache but that only improved it marginally.

Ambience: is really really good. Laid back and brimming with greenery, it is truly a piece of heaven tucked away in the middle of fort kochi. It's attached to an art gallery and I personally liked it more than the one they have at Kashi art cafe. Oh and they have pretty clean restrooms too. Very peaceful and quiet, it will perfectly suit somebody looking for some alone time or a small bunch of friends looking for a long chat session.

Service: was great. Very friendly and patient waiters, a really good chef - absolutely nothing to complain about. Also, we sat around for around three hours and nobody pressured us to get out!

Value for money: pizzas cost between 380 - 460. Drinks are around 120 or less. In my opinion, I think the quality and quantity of food and above all, the ambience justify the price.

Overall opinion: loved it! will definitely visit again!!

A go to place for pizza lovers!! 😍😍 As we all know fort Kochi is a place where the ambience is amazing.. The same goes here.. Ambience and their pizzas.

I've been hearing about this place for a long time now but really dint put an effort to try this place until recently I had the urge to go pizza time, it's a decent place a different experience pizza was good , outdoors seating , decent service was a nice experience. For people who enjoy this kind of experience it should be great I believe the people who recommend this place are into this type of Dining. I would recommend for a one time visit. I went there afternoon it was hot , would say evening should be better.

I loveeeeeeee David hall. I can't remember how many times I've been to this very place. I love everything about this place. Right from the ambience to the food to the little chef who prepares the food. I love everything. My favourite pizza happens to be the one with torn basil and cheese and tomato. It's so yum. They added a swing for the biennale time. Also they happen to have a full fledged menu for biennale again. It features breakfast, lunch and what not. How cool. But nothing beats their pizza. Lot of love to them.
Anjli Abishek
This is hands down the best place in Kochi for some delicious hand tossed pizza made in traditional wood fired brick oven right in front of you. You can choose the toppings you prefer or choose from the wonderful (but limited) options on their menu. They serve refreshing salads. I ordered a classic Caesar salad and loved it. The fish and chips they served were, in my personal opinion, not that flavourful. But the Cheese Tart they serve is out of this world ! It's a warm, simple dessert which I can't even put in words because you have to try it to understand exactly what I'm talking about.

David Hall Gallery Cafe is yet another place that I checked out seeing the reviews and rating in Zomato. You never disappoint me Zomato :)
For the price, this place is pretty decent and ambiance is good. It's at a walkable distance to the beach. It has these outdoor seatings with a thatched roof setting and wooden tables and chairs. It's famous for its pizzas. So when I went there the first time I ordered a "All day breakfast Pizza" which has pepperoni, sausages and egg. We also had a basic lemonade. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive and they had said it would take that long. Pizza was commentable and worth the wait. It's also pretty good for the price in Fort Kochi.
The second time I went, I happened to try the basic Chicken Pizza, Caesar's salad and the Fish and chips. I must say the Caesar's salad was really good. The pizza and fish and chips were nothing extraordinary.
When I talk about the service there, I felt they are little slow in taking the order but otherwise there's nothing wrong. Always happy to discover new places. And more than happy to suggest them to others.
Pizzas have a range from Rs 380 to Rs 450.
Tired walking around Fort Kochi.
We stepped into this beautiful place .
Really good pizzas, made right in front of you.
The ambience too was great though it was a bit crowded when we came in .
Really had a good time here . Will definitely come again!
Note to management: Would be nice if you could add some more tables in the lawn area.
😊

The best place in Fort Kochi to sit and relax with nature friendly space..! Must try their Earth Pizza ! Also Iced Tea, it's another item !!

Extremely bad service. I cannot say anything about the food because I never got any. I waited for almost 2 hours and they failed to give me food. The staff was unapologetic about their behaviour. I would recommend you to avoid this place like the plague.

David Hall Gallery Cafe is a beautiful place to relax and have a nice and healthy meal. As you enter this place, on either side of the hallways there are rooms showcasing a very tasteful form of art that any art lover would like to admire. Though this cafe is outdoors, the humid weather of Kochi isn't really felt here due to the thoughtful setup of the place.

We ordered the basic Chicken Pizza and Iced Tea both of which were made fresh, the pizza oven can be seen from the dining area and I could see the chef make our pizza which turned out to have a soft crust and was very light on the stomach.

The service, food and ambience feels very homely and this is a must visit place in Fort Kochi.

Love the ambience!
Like the food
Can't wait for the Biennale exhibits!
Would be great to see better options, especially when it's cupcake for appetisers/starters and a menu at hand as opposed to a test for eye vision!
Quick service!
Friendly staff!

We tried the Chicken and Pepperoni pizza (the only non veg choice that day). Picture attached. Pretty good!

The wood fire pizza and banana smoothie / cold coffee is my favourite combo at david hall cafe. Really yummmmmmm it is. A perfect place for your weekend hangout. Awesome service. Great ambience. Highly recommended !!!

Sit back, relax, sip cold coffee along with wood fire pizza, if this is what is running in your mind then david hall is the perfect place for you. The best part about their pizza - it is made in front of you, basically freshness reloaded!!

Wow just wow. Loved the place. Serene with a lovely garden. Got to see some Kingfisher birds on the tree boughs. We had the pineapple juice which was fresh and as yummy as natural pineapples can be, perhaps not much credit to the cook here. However when it came to the fig and leaves salad the cook stood out in all glory mone of the best salads we have ever eaten. So much so that we decided to have a salad dinner of the same fig and leaves salad the same day. Umame in one word. We also had the Earth pizza which was great. The pizza was wood fired in the brick oven. And the cheesecake tart which reminded me of a favourite biscuit called Threptin. All in all a must eat place in Front Kochi.

In one word- wow! Yes, we liked this place that much. Not as well known and crowded as the other more famous art cafe in Fort Kochi, this place is the real thing. Very Close to the St. Francis Church and next door to the Cochin Club, the entrance is a bit underwhelming but you are quickly transported into the delightful world of art. 3 large rooms feature interesting work and there are many events organised here too- the most notable one being the Kochi Muziris Biennale. Cross over and you see huge lawns and the cafe- a shack like decor on one side. You instantly know that you can spend hours here. The friendly lady asks you about your order. We tried the quiche and the iced tea- both fresh and exactly how we like it. Pizza is their speciality with a wood fired oven prominently seen behind the counters. We will have to come back to sample their dessert pizza with nutella and banana.

Do visit this wonderful place, you would fall in love with its vibe..

An art gallery cum café, as you enter you can see beautiful pieces of art on the wall. The cafe is located in a beautiful serene setting with lush greenery all around and is very calm and tranquil. The cold coffee was nothing out of the ordinary however the iced tea had an awesome punch to it. Also tried out the cheese tart which one of the best I've tasted, it was perfect!
However they only have limited amount of delicacies to offer. So if you are looking for a quick break of your monotonous routine this place will come to your aid.
Very unassuming and honestly a bit destitute out the front.. but on entry opens up into a beautiful calm and relaxed space with intriguing surrealist style artwork adorning the walls. The restaurant out the back is respectively lovely with a wide open garden, lush grass and a serene atmosphere. I can also vouch for the pizza, absolutely delicious and a non overly complicated menu makes choosing easy. My only complaint was that the salad was overly dressed but otherwise good.

Less pretentious vibe than kashi art cafe but same level of good food and service.

Go for it.

Art blends with good food at David Hall. Love the good vibes one gets at this place. This artsy, well curated cafe is all about beauty. What they offer on the menu could be limited but your soul is bound to feel energized once you spent some time here. Great paintings and even better Pizzas is their forte really. What's best is that those pizzas are oven made !! Truly admire this place.

A pizzeria inside an art gallery? Quite interesting. A wood burning brick oven? Even more so.

We had ordered the Earth Pizza and boy! It was amazing. The ingredients - zucchini and mushrooms were fresh and delicious. It even had the right amount of cheese and the crust, well the crust was thin and baked to perfection.

The drinks we ordered, Cold Coffee and Iced Tea were good too. Both contained just the right amount of sugar unlike most places where they serve their drinks extra sweet.

The ambience is perfect for a quiet getaway from the city: you do get a feeling that you are seated amidst the green. And to top it all up, the prices were pretty reasonable, atleast that is what we felt.

David Hall has always been about the ambiance. But when I lunched there today, I felt a deep sense of disappointment. The menu is so minimal, it's a letdown. The omlette didn't come with bread. Had to be ordered extra. Seriously!!! The veg quiche was good but two teeny portions for 250 bucks was a bit shocking. They should either do some re-pricing or improve portions.

It's a piece of history an a house of art, where you can relax with good cup of coffee. The open cafe offers good food and the atmosphere gives you peace of mind.

David hall, has a nice outdoor seating, don't even bother going here on a summer day,it's nice to go there when it's windy n in the evening. I go there for their pizza, and it's really good. The drinks are not up to the mark, but the pizza are worth a try.

Art the thing which make my foodie mind alive
They have not that much variety
But I like the ambience
More than foodie I go there for in the search of peace

Yummiest thin crust pizzas in kochi.
Authentic clay bake oven makes all the difference.
Not being a avid vegetarian I never go for veg pizzas, but the green pizza was really a surprise.
Loved the place and would come back for more.

The ambience is great
The pineapple pizza is out of the world
For the health freaks there is salad which is semi decent
There are a lot of mosquitoes in the evening.
Ensure you carry your Odomos

This is one of the best thing that has happened to Kochi! The ambience, their service and really good drinks. And I must say I've tried just 2 types of veg pizzas and lime-soda there, but I can say this- they have the best pizza in the whole wide world!!

O, Earth! Marry me!

Love the open ambiance of David Hall, I head there whenever I want to get away from all the chaos of the mainland. Quiet, peaceful, green, the place really calms you down. The brick oven pizzas are brilliant and they have a small selection of other savories, refreshments and desserts. Their quiches also deserve a special mention.

A personal favourite is the 'Green' pizza and the one with pepperoni. A perfect place to get away and relax for a while with some nice food and friends.

A big hall with lot of paintings on display. I would recommend the pizzas at David hall to anybody. I had the earth pizza with chicken and it was delicious. The fruit juices are refreshing. The cheese tart that I had while waiting for my pizza was a little heavy but still good. The quaint location appealed to me. Service was a little slow, but worth it in the end.

Entered by chance at 8.30 in the night. Made to feel welcome by the courteous staff. Excellent pizza, cupcakes with chocolate toppings and lemonade. Rustic ambience, had the place to ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyed a quiet evening with a cat as additional company.
