I had chicken biryani from this restaurant. The taste was average, but the quantity was generous. The ambiance of the restaurant is great.The staff were good .They also have a beer parlour in the front. This restaurant is expensive because it is a tourist place. ♿✖️Entrance is not wheelchair accessible. 🚻✅Has restroom facilities.

From the moment we walked into Cochin Fort Restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. The star of our meal was undoubtedly the largest grouper they had on offer. Cooked to perfection, the fish wrapped in a banana leaf, infused with authentic Kerala spices, was an explosion of flavors in every bite. Coupled with a cold beer that was reasonably priced, especially for Fort Kochi standards, the experience was sublime. However, what truly set this restaurant apart was its staff. A special shout-out to Bineesh who provided exemplary service. His attentiveness, genuine warmth, and commitment to ensuring our satisfaction turned our evening into an unforgettable experience. The ambiance and energy of the place only added to the charm. Lively, fun, and inviting, it felt like we had stumbled upon the heartbeat of Fort Kochi. We went here for dinner, lunch and breakfast. It became our comfort spot for food. The food was tasty, fulfilling and in good Portions. The staff is very friendly and good to be around with. The whole experience was lively. We were so much engaged in food that we forgot to take the pictures. But telling you, it was worth it.

It's a good ambiance beer parlour in fortkochi. Nice vibe for spending time with frnds and couples. Very neat and clean place. Good customer service. Cash, gpay, card payment accepted. Most of all brand wines and beers available here . Washrooms are also neat and clean. We can watch TV and spend time there.

Located along the coast, easily accessible on the way back from a visit to the Chinese Fishing Net. The prices are touristy but delicious. You can choose fish from a cooler box and have them cooked.

Had one of our best meals here. Recommendation by our driver. Friendly service. Decent pricing. They have 3 types of seating. Mostly open aired. Nice cold beers. The highlight has to be the grilled spicy masala fish followed by the spicy calamari. Briyani was above average with lots of meat. Veggies were good too. Overall an awesome lunch.

A cool place for tasting sea breeze though not on sea shore ... Close to it and having created an atmosphere of old world charm and modern amenities. The cultural warmth is quite evident here. Ordered some fresh fish to be cooked and served. Beer is available aplenty. Is a worthwhile stop over for relaxing tourists.

We were served by Bineesh at the restaurant. Extremely enjoyed the food. The ambience is happening. The owner is very much humble. A must visit while you enjoy the beauty of Fort Kochi. It adds on to the attraction.

I love how the restaurant authority are taking the criticism. Zero fucks given, whatsoever. I had a very similar experience where we were kept waiting, no one attended us, slow service, rude staff, terrible food and the prices are a cherry on the top. Basically for them, the foreigners are their real customers we are just there to fill the empty space. I really want every Desi and local person to stop visiting this shithole place and then let's see how it goes for them with just the foreigners. Again, I can put a bet on the fact that at any given day; the foreigners who visit this place are number wise less than us, Indians in their restaurant.

I visited this place with my friends,it was almost full. Took about half an hour to get the seat. Nobody came to take our order,it was mostly filled with foreigners so waiters were busy serving them. The staff was rude & this place is overpriced for no reason. Waste of time and money.They believe in serving only the foreigners.

The place is excellent to sit in during shower. They have plenty of fresh fish to choose from. We had opted for two types of preparation, Karimeen Pollichathu and Karimeen Thilappichathu. Loved both of them.

I used to visit a lot and although pricey for what you get always found the food edible and service OK. However went last Friday (5 October 2018) ordered fish & chips and it was inedible! The fish had been cremated and the fries looked as though they may have been cooked in stale oil. The price for this? 500/-!!! Also the general decor looked shabby and tired and loos not as they should be. I did complain and 128/- was deducted from bill! I will not visit again.

nice place near Chinese fishing nets.. it is always crowded.. dont expect very good service but food is quiet good it has an elaborate menu. we tried chinese as well as kerala style egg chilly and veg subzi ( palak paneer ) it was decent. dinner time ambience is quiet happening and it is too crowded

The first thing this restaurant should do is fire the chef. The food is soo horrible, it's almost like instant diarrhoea. I had ordered a sizzler, fish fry, french fries and was forced to order fried rice. The first thing sizzler was very pathetic it came with a cutlet and 4-6 boiled vegetables, there was no rice or noodles to accompany with hence the fried rice. The french fries served had no salt. The fish fry we ordered was supposed to be pan fried instead it was deep fried which was not at all tasty. The salad served with fish was inedible. The fried rice had no taste at all. The only reason this place has few customers is because they serve beer and wine otherwise it would be as empty as Deserts in gulf. The only 1 star this restaurant deserves is because of their prompt service rest is complete waste of your money and time.

There should be a zero rating. The food is 50/50 so there is a chance that half the food you order might be good. Definetly do not order any north Indian food there or you will suffer from acidity. The staff there complement the food with prude and an I don't care attitude. I am sure there are better options around.

Oh god ! This place is the worst in Entire Fort Kochi! I wish i could rate this place any lower but unfortunately i can't. We didn't eat anything here so can't really say anything about the food but sure can say about the arrogance carried by the waiters here. Horrible service! It seems like they value their foreign customers more than Indians. If you are an Indian and want to be treated like shit you may go to this place, if you're not an Indian and want to be looted by the price, you may go. Never ever again !

The place with super attractive wooden look and the quality of food is so perfect. And beverages are so easy on pocket. Worst experience in Kochi. Strange, unfriendly staff who refuse to open their mouth to explain what is going on. We sat there for 15 minutes ignored amidst​ a power cut. When we wanted to shift to the section in which the fans were working, once the occupied tables were freed, we were told the foreigners seated there would be there for at least 2 hours. Moments later, a waiter came and literally yelled at us, saying the restaurant would shut in 15 minutes and we should leave. He first asked for our order and we tried to order a beer while waiting for some friends who were literally 5 minutes away, which is when he started shouting saying we can't wait for people and that we should go. The manager reiterated his stance, saying they were shutting early because of a power cut. Forgive me for calling out the BS in the different stories they were all selling and the total lack of respect for your customers (who didn't happen to be white maybe?). Dirty hovel of a place. Avoid.

Absolutely the worst service ever. Granted I went at 4pm which was probably well past lunch rush, but I made it a point to check with them first if they were still serving. Made me sit at a dirty table, waiters avoided the table like the plague and wouldn't let me get through two sentences in a row. They seemed more than happy to serve every other foreigner in the place (glad someone got some good service). <br/><br/>After repeatedly asking someone to clean the table, I walked up to the manager and asked him if I would be served or not. The man couldn't be bothered to look at me. One of the other waiters came up to the desk and spoke to him. Again, I asked the waiter if he would serve me or not. He just looked at me with a blank expression. <br/><br/>Then for the last time, I asked him if I should stay or leave and he said, "as you wish".<br/><br/>So like I said, shit service and I couldn't be bothered about the food. <br/>

Went to have lunch here twice. First experience was that they throw you out the moment you enter inside blaming it'll take 50+ minutes for food to be ready. An unpleasant impression, for sure. Next time it was more worse. Hotel was kinda empty and there were only a couple of tourists as their customers. And still it took 15 mins for them to place a menu for us. We've decided soon and was calling them back to take orders. No one didn't even care to mind us. They came after 10 mins again. By then, we were pissed off and asked about the time for the food to be ready, so knew about the another 30 mins wait. We ordered beer to kill time, and it took another 15 mins to reach our table. So annoying. And finally the food, its not that great at all and not worth for the money we pay. Quantity is too less for the price and totally a bad experience in case of food and service. <br/><br/>My question is why do they even wanna run a hotel with such rude mentality helpers, seriously!

Had a terrible experience at this place. Have been in kochi for 4 years now but never left any place with such a bad taste. Apart from the good location it has nothing much to offer including HOSPITALITY. Staff very arrogant and behaves like they are serving food for free. Have to wait atleast 30 mins before someone even notices you. <br/>We just complained about the fruit juice we had ordered and the waiter literally snapped at us. Located perfectly on the cute little street to the beach, the Cochin fort is a perfect attraction to the eyes. You would not think twice before going to explore the place. It has a cute little seating outside with beautifully decorated & lit up trees. <br/>But do not raise your expectations. Never judge the book, just by its cover.<br/>The ambience inside isn't that welcoming. It is neither quiet nor can you listen to the songs playing in the background as they are just muffled noises.<br/>Are you wondering why I am not getting down to the food descriptions, well that is because it took as much time for the food to arrive, so i had more time to pin point petty things.<br/>The beer stock isn't replenished, so ask the server what's available instead of what you want. The concept of fresh lime soda is really interesting as all the ingredients are served separately, but its really difficult to get the concoction right.<br/>We tried the vegetarian noodles, but they were over cooked and the proportion wasn't even enough for 2.<br/>Chili chicken was a little bland. The Paneer of Paneer tikka was excessively dry and chewy.<br/>You'll feel fancy while choosing the tiger prawns you want to eat, but the taste was very ordinary.<br/>The alfredo had only chopped onions, even the sauce was majorly missing.<br/>Overall, wouldn't really be eager to go back.

The place is at a prime location and that's about it. The food is not great at all. For some reason wine and beer prices are not on menu, and wiater quotes any random number when asked. <br/><br/>Staff are rude, service is extremely slow and they literally throw you out at closing.

We are being at this hotel on Saturday 14.01.2017 for lunch. The area was full of smokers and drunkers but we wanted to have lunch with family who were interested eating fish as it was last day of our Kerala tour of 8 days. As per the hotel support staff, the hotel only serves food, no water, if we want to drink, we have to buy the water bottles... How ridiculous is this. The reply was soo blunt that we are inquiring something free food. Any food we ask for, minimum 25-30 minutes required. Tandoori roti is not available but butter nan is available. One should understand people come with kids and it is annoying saying no food available to kids. We will definitely not recommend this hotel for family at least. 😣😣😣

We went to this place on 14 Jan 2017. It was last day of Kerala trip. This visit ruined all the good impressions of Kerala Trip. I wish i could give (-5) to this place. Full of racism. Rude, Bully and threatening staff along with helpless manager/ owner. Very very late food delivery. We got rotis 10 minutes after serving main course, till that time food got cold. Staff will force you to give 10% tip amount above your bill. The only good thing of this restaurant is the location. A serious suggestion, stay far far away from this place.

Horrible place. I was there in 2017 new year evening with some friends. They had some 'staff' standing in the doorway judging people's colour and dressing. They only let people in if you are a foreigner or someone with white skin. They charged 80 rupees kingfisher 350 Rupees. Really overpriced food menu with such low quality. If you want to entertain racial discrimination and to get an upset stomach, then try this shit hole.

The place seems very promising and exciting. After the initial seating and finalizing what to have, the enthusiasm level boils down as none of the waiters seem to notice you. It takes another good 45 minutes plus for the food to appear on the table. The quantity of food and the inattentiveness of the staff is the main criteria for my rating.

I happen to come across this place in month October with two male friends of mine.The place was full with foreign tourists, but still there were a few tables vacant.We sat down , waiting for any attendant to come up. They walked over ignoring us. Finally after waiting we got up and spoke to the waiter, he said that there is no space. After we showed him the empty table, he smartly skipped away saying, please talk to the manager. The Lobby Manager gave us the most stupid excuse of the food not being ready plus we cant accommodate more guests. We came across reverse-racism, done by indian people on us. Never going to this place ever again. But surely this attitude of  restaurant denying indian guests over the foreigners  maybe of any reason,needs to be changed.

We were roaming in Fort Kochi and saw this place which serves chilled beer. Decided to sit and have lunch without thinking of anything else. (We all know that it's difficult to get a beer for a tourist). The ambiance looked nice with lots of greenery and gave pleasant vibes to us. After entering the first thing waiter told us is that we will have to wait for at least 30 minutes as they have many more orders to complete first. We said ok at least we can have a beer or 2. After sitting there for 10 minutes, the guy came to take an order. We were already pissed as no one was attending at that time but still we were hungry so had to give an order. The beer took another 10 minutes, which was literally ridiculous as it should not take more than 2 minutes. The fridge was in front of us and the guy took 10 more minutes. At that point we already realized that service is pathetic and it will be pathetic through out the whole order. <br/><br/>Food: <br/>Gobi Manchurian: Tasted descent but nothing special. The flavor of soy sauce was dominating but still it tasted ok.<br/>Vegetable noodles : Extremely bland and tasteless. There was no green element in the dish (no coriander, no spring onions nothing) which looked totally unattractive. <br/>Chicken fried rice : Again bland. At this point, we understood that ordering Chinese food here is waste of money and we should switch to Desi items.<br/>Paneer butter masala : The gravy was nice but too thin. The flavors were good with proper amount of spices in it. If it was bit thicker would have been tasted much better with butter roti.<br/>Prawns curry : The worst dish of the menu. They charge you so much and you will only get 5 smallest or I would say tiniest pieces of prawns in the world. We were total 5 people and we only got 1 small piece for each. The size of the onions and capsicum in the curry was bigger than prawns. Totally disappointed.<br/>Tandoori Chicken : The only good dish of the menu. This was like a savoir for us. Chicken was nice, soft and juicy, lacked a bit of marination inside but it tasted good. As other dishes were extremely bad, this was like the only descent dish.<br/><br/>Overall experience was really bad. I will explain in one line, overpriced place with pathetic service. Avoid if you can.

Very often, people ask me for suggesting the best seafood options in FC and I wasnt sure if I could recommend any to an enthusiastic foodie owing to many a reason barring a few posh places in the vicinity. I was in search of that #thani_naadan cuisine that is so fondly wanted yet so elusive these days in Fort Cochin. Now, I guess I've found that safe place for some good #seafood in my side of town. The place has a #Bar and therefore you get that Beer and Wine too along with some good options to choose from. I couldnt try much out here as it takes a while for the orders to be served. Understandably, choosing the fish afresh and then later marinating and cooking it in the tandoor etc., takes a while and therefore it is a test of your patience but the #Beer made up for lost time and so it wouldnt reflect on the service delay as the staff were cordial to us although there were a lot of tourists around and I was skeptical if this place also was bugged by the #locals_come_second_syndrome. However, It came as a surprise to me that Hotel Cochin Fort treates every customer alike. Now, for the food: #Karimeen_Thilapichathu Something I would recommend all of you #MUST_TRY. This is a traditional preparation made by the Owner herself and they pride on this #Fisherman_Curry rather the fishing boat curry to be precise. This is one of those dishes that will take you through time travel to the tastes of your grandma's kitchen. Flavourful and earthy are two words I can think of right now when I say its #traditional. This is something you will want to experience for you cant find this in restaurants now. The preparation is a bit tricky and therefore it takes a while to get the #Karimeen done right and that too with the right amount of Shallots, dried red chillies, vinegar, coconut oil and curryleaves etc. For all good things, its patience that works and so if you are ready to wait, you will enjoy every bit of this fish which is soft and succulent #to_the_bone. #Grilled_Snapper A very mildly spiced (upon request) tandoor grilled Snapper that we chose and it tastes just as good as many other grilled fish available elsewhere in Cochin, Kerala. I had asked them to prepare it the way they do it for westerners and that was why it was light and flavourful. It goes well with the #nan and #roti we had ordered from the Tandoor out here #Chilly_Chicken Surprise, Surprise again. As shown in the Pic, it looks different from the usual chilly chicken preparations. Since, I'm not a big fan of chinese or Indianese, whatever they may call it. However, this chilly chicken was fresh and made with no additives is what I felt for the taste was very homely and not at all synthetic. Another #must_try for the chinese lovers. We went to this place to have dinner.<br/>We asked from one waiter to provide seat for four as few tables were left but was not arranged properly. The staff was responding in an abrupt manner and were attending only foreigners. After 10 min they send a person to arrange a table for us. He told that nobody will attend us. We got a shock after listening to him. He told us that everybody will attend foreigners so our food will take 30 min. At the end we realised that the restaurant is a racist place. The license of this restaurant should be cancelled nd all person should be jailed. They are living in India and earning Indian Rupees they should be thrown out of the country. Worst place ever please refrain.

Absolutely racist, substandard joint. They serve only the foreigners, and rudely deny service to anybody who looks Indian. Their overpriced menu (most of which is only up for show, they do not serve many items) and crude, unmannered staff made for an unpleasant experience.

We ordered Kerala style jumbo prawns and Kerala pork vindaloo with rice. The food was very true to its cuisine and we left with happy tummies. The service is excellent and the staff is well mannered. A sure recommendation.

We ended up at this place as we were tourists walking by and it was the only place with people in it. Food is average. We ordered the Kerala style prawn fry. It was nice and spicy. The plus point about this place is that t serves beer and wine.

We went to the place to celebrate my birthday with my family and since I had been to this place about 5 yrs back with good experience I decided to take them here for a nice sea food... <br/>The place interiors has not changed much and the food taste good...however the staff needs to be more courteous and INDIAN customer friendly .. The priority was given to the foreign tourist and basic things such water had to be asked... The restaurant closing time was 10 but none from the staff bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else and simply came with the bill when we were midway our meal... Moreover they also started to switch off lights and winding up tables next to us... <br/><br/>Apart from our hotel staff experience, the food quality and quantity was good.. For all those who love spicy food, their grilled fish made in banana leaf is a must have .

I visited this place on Christmas Eve last year . We were a group of 8 and the place was about to get packed . The hotel owner and the staff did not bother to offer us a table but rather the foreigners who were walking in got a table immediately. <br/><br/>We waited for a bit and finally got a table after talking to the owner . This place doesn't even deserve a rating. Utter atrocious and obnoxious staff. If sucking up to foreigners bought about the diminish of the great Indian civilisation back in the day. After a few disappointing meals we were happily surprised at the food here. It's not fancy or anything but it hits the spot. Good hot food, decent flavors, excellent service. The calamari was good as was the mango prawns.
