Review East India Street Cafe - Kochi (Cochin)

Very warm and cozy place. Loved the ambience. Perfect for romantic couples but good otherwise as well. The food is just too amazing. We ordered crab soup and BBQ chicken. Both were freshly prepared and served in style. The steward Sanjay was very polite, attentive and took good care of us. I highly recommend this place.

East India Cafe in Panampilly Nagar offers a charming and peaceful atmosphere. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was delightful and the quantity was adequate. Prices are a bit on the higher end. I had their steak and eggs along with the ChocoLicious shake. It's a good visit for a satisfying culinary experience.

Great atmosphere and food. I ordered hot chocolate and hungry soul. Hot chocolate ❤️Hungry soul was not upto my expectation but still liked it. We also tried steak which was sooo good. Finding parking space was a trouble as it was a weekend

Tired the pulled beef wrap and smoky beef burger. Both were lip-smacking good. ❤️❤️. Cooked to perfection.. Well balanced flavour, juicy texture, good portion size and well presented. Next time will try other items for sure. And the ambience is colourful, plenty of seating,.. Food 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️
The one & only
Cheesy Chicken Nuggets: Nicely fried, the inside was filled with equal parts chicken and cheese. Served with potato wedges and spicy mayo, these nuggets were perfect as a starter and they could satisfy the cravings of kids and adults both. Pizza Metza: Probably the most appetizing of all the items I tried. This pizza had a nice, crispy crust with a definite chew. The toppings were pepperoni, sausage, beef Bolognese, mozzarella and basil leaves. The robust flavor of the tomato sauce paired really well with the richness of the meats and the freshness of the basil. All in all, absolutely flawless. Sicilian Spaghetti Al Tonno: This pasta is cooked with tuna, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. It was perfectly cooked without an excess of sauce. I thought the pasta would be too spicy, however it had just the right amount of heat and was seasoned perfectly. Chicken BLT Burger: Just as the name suggests, this burger is filled with grilled chicken, bacon (pork or chicken, I went with pork), lettuce and tomato. Would definitely recommend this burger for those who want a change of pace from the usual beef burger as the flavor was sublime. The addition of the pork bacon was genius as the burger gets a deeper, meatier taste. Fisherman Burg: I’ve been craving Fish & Chips lately and this burger caught my eye as the components were the same. The eye catching aspect of this burger was that it came with a green sesame seed bun. The seafood patty was a mix of prawns, fish and cheese with tartar sauce and potato wedges on the side. I was worried that the patty, being a mix of seafood and cheese, would be a tasteless mush, however, it was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked and flavorful on the inside. Definitely enjoyed this creative burger. Chocolate Avalanche: A mix of chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and granola. All the components were in perfect harmony, the brownie was dark and decadent, beautifully pairing with the vanilla ice cream and the granola added some much needed crunch. The ideal dessert for a chocoholic like me.

The place is well designed and has good amount of seating. The service was quick and the staff was courteous. The menu had a wide varieties to try and they were ready to serve anything in the menu unlike some placed where half of the stuff is unavailable. The portion size was adequate for single consumption. The highlight has to be the presentation, the food was well presented and the taste and quality was good too.

The menu!! Wow!! Arancini, filet mignon, goat cheese, fondu, banana split… i felt like i was in new york city or Las Vegas… such an amazing variety of selections!!! And the ginger fizz had freshly JUICED ginger… so impressed! And the garlic bread with the soup was so good that i ordered a full order of it to finish my soup😂❤️ real, high quality bread is very hard to find in india… so impressed and so happy i found this place! Kochi is amazing!❤️ If i was VERY hungry i would have attempted the 5 minute food challenge. Sounded very difficult due to the milkshake that’s included in there

The food was really great. Everything was very yummy. Vegetarian options are limited, but everything we ordered was really good. The ambience was nice staff was very well behaved. We had fun taking photos and just chilling for a couple of hours. Highly recommend visiting the place.

Average at best. Their ambience and service is good . But the food is average. Nothing different that they serve. I ordered a hot chocolate and it came loaded with cinnamon. A pure simple hot chocolate does not have cinnamon. If they plan add it should be either mentioned in the menu in details or should be asked . But the staff however was very well behaved and extremely hospitable. Extra points for that

I love this place so much. Its my favourite hangout spot. The food is great with every bite and the ambience is enthralling. Would surely recommend it to everyone.

It's more like cafe that gives some variety of a vibe especially the designs of their restroom had my eye, it's so vividly modern. Coming to the dishes we ordered a Lasagna, A Crispy chicken and their special beef burger. I'm not a cheese lover so the lasagna was an average. Coming to the chicken it was Crisp AF and tender. The burger with the juicy patty and the onion ring made our day. All together it was a good experience. It's a good place for all the small talks

We had a Sunday lunch at East India Street Cafe, located at Panampilly Nagar, a happening place in Kochi. Continental and Mexican dishes are in the menu with innovative names and great variety. Whatever we ordered tasted excellent. BBQ grilled chicken, pulled beef cutlet, pizza pepperoni, Mexican chicken soup etc. were tasty and interestingly presented. This is a smallish restaurant and seats fill up fast. The staff were straining themselves to attend to every customer. Some of the items in the menu, we had asked for, were not available. It took a while for the food to reach the table. Perhaps, the management could innovate and serve some short eats on the house while the food gets prepared!

Great location and great ambience with decent seating and parking. Outdoor dining is also available. The menu too looks cool, however most of the items were not available. Tried hot chocolate, watermelon mojito, old school shake, coffee mocha, mint lime, which were good. Overall, a neat place to hangout. ps: their bathrooms are a must visit ( you ll know when you go)! .
My Culinary Adventures
Had visited this place by End of April with some of my friends . The Food is contemporary European cuisine with good salads , starters , Pizza , Pasta & Steaks to choose from. The pricing is decent with generous portions. The beverage selection was quite nice as well Defenitely recommend this place for a small get together or casual meal 😀 Their service is very attentive & accommodating which made our visit even better 😃
Hungry Soul
Wow , I was craving for their cappuccino ever since lock down had started.. Good & robust al always .
Their BBQ chicken was good too ...
I really did miss this place . 😃
Soul Food
Had ordered the Burger and pasta .
The portion was really good for both and thoroughly enjoyed the flavour...
Will defenitely go and dine in their soon to have their steaks & mocktails😀

It tasted like shit. The wedges were burnt and bitter. I ordered from you thinking atleast you guys will keep up the quality. Guess I was wrong. Never coming back
Snehil Singh
We ordered the Chicken burger- the patty was cold and could have been cooked properly. The hydrating water being offered was bitter. The saving grace could have been the penne pesto pasta, but sadly it lacked salt.

I had the best french toast in my whole life from here. Their ambience, though great, is nothing like East India haha( I get the reference is to East India company, but that doesn't represent London?)
The food was great, deffo one of the best in Kochi. Additionally, I had the thai noodles with teriyaki beeg, an English breakfast, Pomodoro with prawns, stir fried chicken, then some other stuff that I can't remember but all were great.
The hot chocolate and the avocado shake was also amazing.
100% will visit again soon for the breakfast options!

The service and the taste of food was awesome...mouth watering dishes ..Tried calamari which was so tasty

Had ordered steak n eggs with sausages it was served cold. When I told them it's cold they reheated in the microwave and served

Ordered Thai peanut noodles and veg zatar wrap . Taste was disappointing. Thai noodles was just egg noodles with soy sauce and 3 small peice of beef. (Beef was mentioned teriyaki style In menu . What I got was just cook with salt and in skewer). Veg Zatar wrap , As per menu its with zatar and hummus , didn't find any of those In wrap. Chilly Mayonnaise was provided in aluminium foil (guess it's about plastic ban). Potato wedges along with wrap was very good. Hence giving 2*. This place is overly priced for what I received in home delivery. This is my second experience with this restaurant. Previously ordered pizza , potion size for this was not worth.
Decided Not to waste anymore money by ordering from this restaurant.

Zebra Brownie Sundae
(One best Sundae that you could get in @east_india_cafe. Absolutely loved the vibe of this place 😍

Well decored ambiance with flamboyant cushions and beautiful interiors!!

Tried their burgers, pizza and mac and cheese! The Mac and cheese was so delicious and is a must try here ❤️

Visited today. Great ambiance & friendly staff. Tried their Chef spacial French toast, Fried Chicken Waffle, Cream of Broccoli & Almond and Crispy Nutty Calamari. Food was really YUMMM !!! Certainly a 'MUST VISIT' place in Cochin for food lovers

On a Tuesday morning, I had an urgent work to do and a legal literature to read. I rushed to East India Cafe on the advise of my better half who heard about the ambience of this place from someone.

Got a parking. Nice ambience. Chilled inside.

I ordered a Classic Latte and a Carrot Cake. Latte was just fine. Carrot Cake is simply waste. Good for nothing.

And, the staff said they won’t share WiFi despite the shop having two accounts. Despite not consuming food on my table, they didn’t ask me what happened. Attitude on their face.

Summing up, I couldn’t do my work and got a bad cake.

I would suggest you not to go to this place. Hit Coco Tree or French Toast nearby.
Megha Joseph
We had their Pomodoro with prawns, healthy breakfast, steak & eggs, chef special French toast, Stuffed chicken Supreme, Mocca Frappe, Hot Chocolate and Avacado Smoothie.
All of them were super amazing! But my favourites among these were the French Toast and Steak&egg and stuffed chicken. The Avacado shake was very rich and I loved it.
They took a little time to serve, but it was worth the wait.
They have a very cozy ambience and very courteous staff!
Loved the club sandwich here!

First thing to say is.... 'superb superb superb Ambience...' Good lighting, nice couches, chairs etc... The staffs are soo polite.. When it comes to menu, prima facie impression will be 'Daivame, itu kathiyanello'. But when the food comes and started having it, the rates can be fully justified.. Taste is heavenly❤️.... And have pretty good Quantity... ❤️❤️

Such a beautiful cafe set in an easily located place in Panampilly Nagar. The ambience is just marvellous, the decor splendidly done with a charmingly colourful, elegant and tasteful look.
The menu is most decidedly authentic old English with the choicest of flavours, absolutely a feast for the Lords! Their service is extremely courteous, impeccable and in super good time.
A wonderful way to start your day!
Open from 8 am on weekends.
A sure 'must try'!

Crisp dosas that can be found in veg joints in Kerala popped on the table. The appams are super thin on the neer dosa lines. The beef could be better.Ularthiyathu ideally is a well done prime steak cut into bite sized pieces & then sauteed in coconut strands avec huile.Very friendly on the pocket.#Mallu cuisine

I ordered jn the healthy breakfast from East India Street cafe. The portions are small but the food is tasty. It contains 2 peppery sausages, omelette, half a fried tomato, mushrooms, toast, bacon and buttery spinach. Not quite sure how it’s healthy but I don’t mind eating the same again. 3 1/2 stars for the food, 1/2 star off for the smallish quantity for the price.

Having brunch while chilling with some fabulous colour displays and bright lit rooftop? Head to the immensely beautiful East India Cafe at Panampilly Nagar and Fort Kochi property’s owned by Fragrant Nature Group.

The purpose why I was there last day was to check on their new Keto friendly menu. In line with their mission of cultivating a new health habit appealing to all generations and health groups such a revamp was made. Be in starters, salads, mains..there was Keto Friendly Dish across palettes. We started off with some coolers and headed to Cream of Broccoli and Almond Soup. It was served in edible cups and it’s display was just great. For the health freaks, Super Green Feta Salad was a great choice. Felt a bit salty, nonetheless it has been fantastic considering the point that it’s healthy.

My special mention goes to Mallu Burger and Chef Bunnychow. Both of these are incredible and a must try for its diverse taste and presentation. And my favourite was none other than the gorgeous French Toast. It was beautifully the best I have had till date. Amazing colours and presentation was just mind boggling.

I really disliked the Herb Crusted Snapper and Crispy Nutty Calamari, and they went overboard with the use of batter in case of calamari and fish felt weird. Hope this get tweaked and overall experience was exceptional.

Where -
.
Ambience-5/5
Service-5/5
Food-4/5
Value for money-3.5/5

For a birthday celebration we went to this place. I took an appointment prior becz the guy told me that the place will be crowded as it is weekend and peak time. For my surprise the place was empty :P. We preferred to sit upstairs only we were the ones who was there till the end except one staff. She was very friendly and helping. The food came without much delay and the birthday cake was awesome. They charged around 500 for half kg and asked us to purchase 350 per head as it is celebration. I didn't get the logic. Whatever the food we ordered was all good.

Tandoori chicken Pizza - 4/5 Was delicious and fresh. We all loved it.
Signature Butter chicken - 4/5 Butter chicken and basmati rice thats it. Tasty though
Thai Peanut noodles with teriyaki beef - 3.5/5 Was good
Passion fruit mojit - 4.5/5 - Very refreshing and felt like a mojito :)
Hot chocolate - 5/5 This is a must try from here if you are a fan. But we struggled to finish it as we ordered two.
Freshly Squeezed pineapple juice -4.5/5 That was fresh indeed

Overall i loved this place and looking forward to try their burgers and sandwiches.

Why 3 stars?! Just not good enough for the price. That's all..
The food is absolutely delicious the right kind of menu though not for a vegetarian...

Thw price is over and above the roof and that is what turned me off. Exorbitantly high prices for a decent good meal is not what I expect.

The drinks menu are all on the rightly priced sorts and after having tried ginger lime, i can clearly say they have got style.

The ambience is pleasing yet normal. The place is tucked away from traffic and good for quiet conversations

Totally in love with the food and interiors of the place. A far cry from the usual places in Kochi, this one presents a healthy escape route from the typical restaurants in and around the area.

A very warm environment. Excellent ambience good crowd, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Good service good food.

Had the beef lasagna and the stuffed chicken supreme. The quality of the food was really good. With good presentation. But the quantity was very average.

Overall brilliant.

The ambience was interesting.
Food was fresh and hot. The grilled chicken and pizza was awesome.
The beef in the burger was amazing!
Will recommend this place.

I had a wonderful time, the food, the ambience and the service was overwhelming. The mallu burger is to a must have !!! The beef curry gravy to go with the fries are brilliant and the burger itself is just finesse

One of the best fish dishes I've had recently was from @east_india_cafe at Panampilly Nagar. It's the Herb crusted Snapper with Cauliflower risotto priced at Rs.460/-
East India Cafe, true to its name, has quite a plush and vintage Brit influenced decor that you'll notice. But not with the food.
Their food is a little bit from everywhere, but neatly put together to suit the Indian palatte. Coming back to the Herb crusted Snapper with Cauliflower risotto. This is part of their Keto-friendly revamp on the menu. This thing of beauty, the Snapper, is a fillet of well cooked fish seasoned with a fine blend of herbs. Neither does the fish reek fishy not does the Herb overpower the dish. The Cauliflower risotto took me by surprise. It was so evenly textured that given a blind test I wouldn't have guessed it was cauliflower! The grilled veggies added texture and a slightly toasted cherry tomatoes gave the dish the tartness it needed. And it was also so uniquely flavorful that the whole dish came together like a revelation. Do try on your next visit to the cafe.

Arabic Chicken was the favourite dish of the evening!! The hammus, the garlic dip, salad, chicken and zaatar khuboos. Loved the dish !!

Waffle with chicken and caramelized onions and coleslaw was good but was tooo sweet for my taste buds.

Butter chicken lasagne was yummmm ... An Indian version of Lasagne.

Chicken Khatti Roll was good with the chutney. Nothing special about this roll .

Pulled beef sandwich was good too.

The disappointment was the dessert. We ordered the mudpie and gulab jamun cheese cake. Both wasn't uptown our expectations. The gulab jamun cheese cake was total disaster. Also the masala tea was horrible. It was water with tea leaves and some spices in it and it. Mind you I got the taste of cinnamon while drinking that tea!!!

Definitely recommended but have desserts somewhere else !!!

I love their salads, juices and tomatoe soup is delish. Going there for lunch and perusing the books and finding one I want to read is a greet afternoon. Great decor and ambiance and staff is super friendly. Well done!!

The Keto burger rs 480 was very good and quite large in quantity (esp for someone like me who eats alot). The meat was done perfectly (pink in the middle as any good burger should be, sadly many Indians don’t know that a well done burger is much inferior to medium/medium rare) and the sauce was also quite good.

The club sandwich was good as well but mostly comparable to other similar restaurants.

The mango ginger mojito was perfect ....loved it mainly because unlike other places they don’t use fruit syrup... this drink had lime, ginger, mango bits and chiya seeds

The cheese cake is stellar, solid/thick bake as opposed to the mousse-like bad cheese you will get at downtown/panampilly nagar and the cafe inside grand hotel.

Excellent food
Nihad Basheer
Great ambiance and Interiors. Kinda French inspired Interiors and about Talking about food I had ordered for Mallu Burger which definitely didn’t feel like a burger tho but it’s different and Wedges in East India Fort Kochi tasted even better Needs improvement on that too.

I have been to East India Street Cafe before as well and had a better meal. But yesterday was quite disappointing. We ordered a smoked beef burger, Pulled pork sandwich and Waffle with chicken to eat. We also ordered Mojitos and an ice tea.

The Burger was extremely disappointing. The patty was tough and undercooked, the onion rings were also hard and not easy to chew.
The pulled pork sandwich was really good and well cooked.
The waffle was average. There could a little more flavour to it.
The Mojitos and ice tea were very refreshing.

I hope the menu does improve.
Overall experience was average.

I came here with my kid cousins who loved the antique aesthetic. The food is everything to rave about - the chocolate indulgence smoothie (which was a little too sweet for me) had the kids wanting ten more of it, the cheesy onion rings (that I don’t have a picture of) were crispy, crunchy, and finger-licking good.
The almond blonde was a last minute addition to our desserts but the best of it. The banana cake wasn’t the best I’ve had, but that sweet creamy topping had me going back for more.
On the other hand, the boring club sandwich was a little too dry for me while the service wasn’t too hot. The place was nearly empty since it was only 6pm and despite that, I’d have to keep calling for a waiter. Tissues weren’t provided at the table either until I asked for it. And that Gulab Jamun cheesecake was both the worst gulab jamun and the worst cheesecake that any of us have ever had.
Nevertheless, it all made for an overall amazing experience.
Would definitely recommend.

Excellent cafe with great ambience and staff. Tried some of their signature dishes and weekend specials. All the dishes were perfect in taste and quantity especially the honey garlic pork! Cordon Bleu, East India Club, Mac&Cheese and Fried Chicken Waffle were the other dishes tried. All of them were very good. Helpful and courteous staff with good and neat atmosphere. Great cafe ❤️

Getting the best out of Kochi with the European Gesture. East India Street Cafe is a grandeur of all and they serve the best central European dishes in the city. Friend Chicken Waffle was a super crispy pick and it was cool and yummy. Grilled Escalope was also the filler to make up for our lunch plans. Blue Wild Cat was the super cool Mocktail East India Street Cafe serves and it is so good to give a try for anyone. Rich mix of Blue Berry, Lemon, Mint..It is a must try at East India Street Cafe. Awsome ambience, hospitality and super grand dishes.
East India Street Cafe: 4.2/5

Loved the ambience. The staff are very courteous and friendly. The food is superb by the way. Love their iced teas, mojitos, organic falafel salad, club sandwich and pastas. This place is just spot on and a great hangout place .
Shereen George
Loved the super cute ambience of the place! Service also really prompt. I could only try 2 of the dishes under starter - cheesy onion rings and Potato poppers. I found the onion rings to be a bit oily. Taste wise both were good. I would definitely want to visit the place again and try out more dishes. They have a good variety of desserts too!

I finally got a chance to go to the place have heard a lot of good reviews. My first impression of the place is that,it is well lit and has a very good ambiance perfect for perfect night out with friends. I tried the Pancakes Gallor and pancakes was perfectly done and was very soft.A very good USP of the Café is that all the ingredients are organic and the quality of the ingredients are top notch
Would definitely visit this place and again and again!

Awesome food and ambience here I like everything here but only one disappointment. The manager was coming to our table and he has given us a tab and he was asking for the feedback. That's quet natural but the issue is he was forcing us to do all five star. Still the problem is not over, we have given less star for the menu spread becouse we did not see any spicy option on the menu. Then the manager coming and prosecuting us regarding rating in an angry way. After also too many questions were asked by phone also after leaving this place.
So I have one suggestion to every one who want to visit this place, if they ask for the feedback please don't give them o🙏 otherwise please avoid this place to avoid headache
Anuj Nair
Funky place, well lit and maintained but with a huge wall sized mirror put up for whatever reasons. 😂
Located at Panampilly Nagar, the place is easily accessible. Parking is limited. They have an outdoor sitting area but not preferable in the hot day times. We ordered BBQ Burger, Popper Burger, The Royal Herb and Grilled Mignon, which they mentioned as chef's special and highly recommended. The Burgers were good but the salads accompanying them are to be questioned. It felt out of place and taste and something that was there to fill up the empty space. The Royal Herb was smashing but we failed to see the Grilled Mignon as the favourite in the menu. Grilled Mignon basically had a small piece of meat, huge amount of potato mash that wasn't necessary, broccoli and cut vegetables. It just wasn't enough.
The café is worth a second visit and their menu is huge. More dishes to try out next time. :)

I had a good experience in this cafe. Me and family went there for a dinner. The menu was quite impressive. My wife like the steak which she ordered and I had a pasta with pesto. The food quality was five star level. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice. The staff was amazing especially shervin who gave my family best service and jokeena who look after our son in the restaurant. The manager came to the table ask for feedback of food and service . He offered some special drinks from the menu and even he explained to me about organic food. Last but not least the chef who cook the food was great because my pasta was perfect and steak cooking was amazing.

I just had a chance to visit heavenly place a day before, for my business meeting, I thought it will be too crowded and noicy for business meetings, but no words to say, this place is realy heaven. Moreover we had the orderd dish was palatable. The management was so cordinative and helpful. I am so greatful to Mr. Antony, he arranged the table and gave us place with complete privacy also suggusted good dishes as am veggi. The only fault I felt is, the place is hard to get noticed, but it makes the restaurant 'THE QUEEN OF PRIVACY'. I suggust this cafe, every person who love privacy and mouth watering dishes
Diana
The place and ambiance are too good here but the management is too harsh and rough
I came to this place two days before . I reached there by 10:30pm with my friend and we ordered two juice and it served by10:47 pm. At 10:50 pm the manager came to us and he was forcing to leave the place in a harsh way of talking because they wanted to close the restaurant . The way of talking was too rude and his eyes were coming out with anger .
I have been in this place before also and we spent time till 12 at that time the staff was too Cooperative . So please avoid this place if you don't want to loose your prestige.
Got a chance to check out this outlet too and I am impressed!! The Potato Tatar Tots were incredible. Crispy and so soft inside. Perfectly cooked and really loved it along with the mayo and tomato sauce. Also the Mint Iced Tea was a surprise to me. It had that intense kick and really a good one to beat the heat. The Peach Iced Tea wasn't that great for my taste and I felt it wasn't having that perfect taste also of watery. I would suggest to improve on that as I ve heard, the Peach Iced Tea are the favourites of most of the people around! Ambience wise, really loved it. Calm and peaceful everytime. Service wise too, decent!

East india street cafe is such a beautiful place to hangout and they serve some good burgers also ! in love with their BLT burger
do try this .

We enjoyed our lunch outing from East India Street Cafe especially because of the awesome burgers they serve. To say the Popper Burger (pictured here) and BBQ Burger were yummy would be an understatement. Although the salads with the burgers leave much to be desired, the mayo and tomato jam dips + potato wedges complemented the meal perfectly. We also had The Royal Herb, which was delicious and Grilled Mignon, which despite being recommended by the staff turned out to be less satisfactory than expected.
Their quirky decor is pretty and the staff is very courteous.
Anuj Nair

Beautifully decorated interiors!! As the name " East India Cafe " Itself indicates, the interiors are well occupied with vintage elements of India.

Quite and cosy atmosphere. We ordered chicken pop corn and beef steak. Chicken popcorn was good but the beaf steak was kinda okay. The berry based beverage was not impressive.

Even though East India cafe at panampilly nagar resembles the cafe at Fort Kochi, the food couldn't not be compared. Being a fan of East India cafe, Fort Kochi, i had high expectation which was all shattered by visiting here. But couldn't resist to appreciate the amazing atmosphere created here. And the service was quite impressive as well.

One of the best places I found at Panampilly Nagar to spent with friends or family. Reasonably priced and well mannered staff. Not too crowded and great ambience. Rustic design to take you back to those East Indian days. Mind that you won't find too many parking spots, but just for 2-3 cars. Here is the opinion from my 10 year old daughter after having a Barbeque burger and Virgin Mojito "Let's go here next Sunday". I hope these guys one day partner with Zomato and my Gold Membership comes handy. Will try to post some good quality pictures.

Loved the ambience in the first floor. I tried the banoffee which was mediocre. A must visit place for it's beautiful interiors. Will visit again.

Lovely decor and color contrasting furniture, great accommodative staff, good food and ambience. All in all a pleasant Sunday afternoon spent. Feels like it isn’t part of kochi city when you’re inside.

Great food,at great prices. The chicken waffle, club sandwiches were good, could improve on the service. The interiors were well done. End the meal with choice of deserts or Shakes

The place is fantastic!!!I had been to the East India Cafe at Mattancherry.. The food is quite good at both the places. The Fried Chicken Waffle is my favourite. The cafe at Panampilly Nagar has a nice ambience, good books and a lot of corners to pose for a picture!!😁 Had a go at the specials today. It was Panko Fried Chicken Wrapped In BACON!! It was just mouth-watering!!🤤🤤 It was crispy and moist inside... The Mac ‘n’ Cheese was just LIT!! 🔥🔥 You guys should surely try the Panko Chicken... Hats off to Chef Johns!!! 💕💕 #east_india_cafe #food🥓 #cravings🥰

LAYERED ENGLISH MUFFINS... GO TRY!

Brilliant food. Rustic interiors with beautiful decor elements. Great food, beautiful settings a must visit place . I visited this cafe two times, once with my friends and other time with my family. Super satisfied with their food and service. The staff go to any extent to make you comfortable. The best part is they use pesticides free raw material as much as possible and they source this from their sister concern aroma fresh.will certainly come back for yet another culinary experience.

This is one of the most happening cafe's in town. The very homely yet sophisticated ambience gives enough reason to go back. The staff are really nice and courteous. The food is just awesome and filling. Although the veg choices are less, I still have a few favs. The Cheese and onion rings with the dip is a perfect cheat when on diet, the Organic Carrot and cumin soup is another pick on the menu. Truely a wonderful place to come with friends and family.

One of the best café to hangout.
Awesome food and ambience. They focus on the quality of the food as they use organic products in their menu which is free of toxins. This is best part of the café I would say. The staff over there is very active and attentive. One the whole a perfect place to dine.👍👍👍

I have been here with my friends few days before. It was a wonderful food experience. The staffs were very polite and friendly. There were two floors the ground floor has a very good cafe ambience it's kids and family friendly. And we have been in the top floor it has a unique ambience I have never seen a beautiful ambience like this in ekm yet. It's a very calm and quiet area. good for couples and family.
When talking about the food, first we ordered a starter as the server suggested, it was CHICKEN POPCORN a tasty starter enough for three or four persons. It's an appetising dish
After that we had a pasta named the ROYAL HERB . It's a fusilli pasta with green pesto sauce. Very sumptuous one.
Then we ordered a pizza it's name is FUSION CHICKEN RASHER . (Suprb 😋)
Then Two steaks GRILLED MIGNON (beef) and GRILLED ESCALOPE (chicken)both were tasty and especially the beef steak was delicious when I had it with the Demi glaze sauce 😋😋
There drinks were very tasty. We had there signature mocktail ABSOLUTE WEIGHT WATCHER (spinach, mint, green chilli etc.) then a special mocktail with raw mango and green chilli -TROPICANA GREEN MIST. And ORGANIC BLEND the blended drink with mouth watering flavour. Then BERRY SPOT a drink with pineapple, strawberry and coconut cream
So it was a great experience with good food and great service. Thank you so much East India cafe. I hope will visit again soon.

Had been to this place few days back. Food is not that what you find in the menu card descriptions and the service was really bad too. To sum up had a very bad experience here.

Not up to scratch. 6 of us ordered our dishes and each one was brought out sequentially with a 10 min gap between- food got cold waiting . The burger buns at the bottom were also soggy, it didn't help when u bite into a burger the texture of the top half and filling is undone by the soginess

This cafe is spot on for friends meetups and gatherings.. it has quite the ambience for good photos, and decorated so well with bright colors and such a cozy place for long chats and friendly gatherings!!
I went to this cafe for one such gathering and was totally in awe with the interiors and the beauty of the place.
We ordered potato tartes, and i was eager to try out their chicken waffles and was hearing lots of good reviews and so was dying to try it.. tartes tasted really well, and the waffle took me by surprise and it was my first ever savoury waffle and i loved it! The maple syrup actually added a notch of taste to my palette and i really loved the waffle dish. Besides waffle, there was burger which i didn't found as a wow dish or anything.

Was there as a part of a get together of some foodies in the town and the first vibes are definitely positive and a feel good one! Full marks to the decor and the ambience - Spread over 2 floors and spacious and cozy place right in the middle of Panampilly Nagar. What stands out about EIC is that their cafe uses at least 80%-90% organically grown items and they are really serious and passionate about how and what people eat. Some of the items on the menu are a fusion of the Continental fare which makes the taste indeed distinct.

The blue wild cat - a pineapple based fusion drink which was a pleasant surprise for me, as i am not a big fan of pineapple juice/based drinks. Another of their must try's is the Berry Spot - concoction made of blue berry and couscous was yumm and refreshing at the same time.
The cheesy onion rings were damn nice without the overpowering taste of onions and that was a good starter to follow the Caribbean Fusion Chicken Soup - which is something really spicy and as a soup lover i can have this one any time of the day. However, the best of the starters would certainly be Shrimp Crostini - the salad shrimps with a mix of olives and home-grown tomatoes blending perfectly into the the baguette toasts which were done perfectly.

Their paella dish, which is again a fusion of their in-house chef is something really filling and it's packed with good stuff – chicken thighs, king prawns and some rich garlic flavour adds to flavour!

Amongst their regular fare of deserts, the Sticky Date Praline would score high marks from end always - Light and sweet but moist and rich in flavor, their praline is indeed made very well with the right amount of nuts and sugar.

And I am sure no where else would you find this dessert of theirs and aptly titled as Adorned Tropical Surprise - the main ingredient in this desert would indeed spring a surprise - Bitter Gourd - Woah!! Yes, who would have ever thought of a desert with bitter gourd. Though a bit heavy, with the texture being something similar to rabri or maybe even thickened Paalada Paayasam, this desert stands out for its uniqueness as well as richness.

Amazing place!
A perfect place to go out with friends, and take good pictures, I might add :)
Staff is very cooperative and courteous. On top of that, even the Chef himself approached us for reviews.
Coming to the food, I had a slider, Chef’s Cook up. Amazing. The beef scalloppini was amazing.
Lemon iced tea was soothing as well. Overall, enjoyed the visit.

I was here a couple of times. Really wanted this cafe in Panampilly Nagar after being to the one in FortKochi. The first visit satisfied my expectations. However, the second time disappointed me.

Reccomended: Fried chicken waffle and Pasta
Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Food is not that great when compared to Fort Kochi. Drinks tasted like tonic and the main course was disastrous as some where given extraordinary names but tasted like samosa. Almost everything had too much potatos in it. I dont remember the names as they are difficult to read. Hope it brings in better food next time.
Nice cozy ambience.Excellent service. The lime, mint and raw mango tropical drink was great.Did not try any appetizers. The Classic Meuniere ( grilled snapper )was good as well.Dessert was organic orange torte, which had just the right level of sweetness.Overall a very good experience.

I happened to be at this cafe in the evening. To begin with the ambience is sheer oppulance. I took a comfy seat and ordered a fried waffle. The presentation was on point and in the tooth stick which was immersed within the waffle the addition of East India Street cafe sticker was quite a marketing masterpiece. However, the taste failed to enlighten my taste buds as it felt pretty average. Chicken and waffles don't go well together . Nonetheless the staff was courteous and pricing is fair. A good place to hang out at Panampilly Nagar. Recommended!

First visit and I must say it was an excellent one..
Tried the Waffle dish..forgot the exact name..but I guess there is only waffle dish and it was too good!!!!!
Friendly staff and good ambiance..
Go try the waffle!!!

Something that I didn’t like is they got my bill by the time I washed my hands..
So then I tout ok no dessert!!

2nd visit last month 2/5

1)Their best dish waffles with chicken- recipe changed and it was terrible..wasted it.. 0/5
2)onion rings with cheese- very good.. 5/5
3) calamari rings was good..3.8/5

Staff is slow..

Would definitely recommend for the RestoCafe ambience and great food. One of the few places in Kochi that serve a proper Filet Mignon steak. Courteous staff, who even served cake as it was Diwali.
Recommendation level: 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We came to this place for breakfast and it was perfect. We ordered the breakfast platter, yoghurt and granola and the vegetable burger! Every dish was delicious with a beautiful ambience and a courteous staff. We tried the latte and filter coffee as well and the filter coffee won of course! Do not miss this place if you are in kochi!

East India Street Cafe attracted us because of the ambience. The staff were very welcoming and the order was served within 10-15mins. Review🔸🔸EAST INDIA CAFE, Panampilly Nagar
.
This cosy cafe is located in the heppest part of town, Panampilly Nagar and is easy to find. The place has an old world charm with a contemporary twist.
Without any delay we placed our orders.
•Cheesy onion rings: this one was a little too oily and also, we couldn't find any cheese in it. ⭐⭐1/2 out of 5
.
• Fried chicken waffle: this is one of their signature dishes so we had to try it. It's basically chicken strips and veggies sandwiched between waffles served with maple syrup.surprisingly, I liked this one. I enjoyed the hot and sweet flavours(totally subjective).⭐⭐⭐⭐
.
• Grilled mignon: beaf steak with veggies and mashed potatoes. Loved everything about this dish except the size of the steak. It was too tiny compared to the rest of the elements on the plate.⭐⭐⭐⭐
.
• Sticky praline dates cake: was dates cake with caramelized cashews and caramel sauce topping.⭐⭐⭐⭐
.
• Tropical surprise: was something that sounded interesting because the main ingredient was bitter gourd. It tasted good(considering its made of bitterg gourd) and tasted a lot like payasam.
⭐⭐⭐
.
Good ambience and service. The food is not out of the world but not bad either. But if you want a place to chill and catch up with your friends, take pictures with some really quirky and cute props, this is definitely an option.( PS: There are many instagrammable spots here). 😛

The plan was to take the ferry to Fort Kochi walk around a bit, get some “Fort Kochi only” grub and hit back to city scape. For reasons unknown (read lazy), plan shifted to just walk around Streetscape at Panampilly Nagar and after a good stroll get to one of the many light bite options around. 2018 has been a good year for Panampilly Nagar with many popular names and charming outlets popping up. Within a short distance from the walkway the new signage guided us in search of East India Street Café, the name ringing a familiar bell. Walking in, it all fell in place, more than a coincidence I guess, what we would have sought out at Fort Kochi was right here at Panampilly. The popular joint from Fragrant Nature at Fort Kochi has branched out with an outlet here for the town dwellers.
Easy to locate tucked a few feet off the main road just behind the Ali Baba and other eateries nearby. Welcoming décor adorned with string lights announcing that they are newly opened. We stepped into the ground floor and were promptly attended to also informed that there is added space upstairs as well. The ground floor has enough quirk elements to hold your attention, on the walls and around, giving the place its casual feel. There is sufficient seating space within as you walk in, though at first look it might seem a bit small. After taking in the charm of the place downstairs, decided to seat ourselves on the
first floor which appeared to be a bit more airy and spacious. The place is a visual treat with unusual colours matched up together on the flooring, seating and the cushions against the white walls with the bricks outlined. One side of the wall with mirrors end to end lends a sense of expanse to the space. A tree placed at the centre adding to the green within. There are multiple seating options high and low and the place is lit adequately with lamps hanging above.

We were quickly attended to with a bunch of smiling faces ready to serve, an uncluttered menu attached to a wooden board. If you have been to the outlet at Fort Kochi, things get pretty familiar, if not, there is enough for you to take your time getting confused with the title and reading the description to comprehend and essentially being spoilt for choice. The menu is elaborate, a collection of light food options from around the world. My perennial concern with most quirky
café and their global menu, I may not need to come back again to try something new, as the options for vegetarian can all be tried in one visit itself. Can’t complain, it is a menu that suits the tastes of a larger clientele I guess.

Neatly segregated into breakfast, starters and burgers, more food, drinks, desserts, tea and coffee there is a wide array to choose from. Hunger pangs and sceptic of the outcome, we made our choice and ordered a Falafel Salad – not just plain – an organic one at that, some potato tater tots (or was it potato tot taters?), a Mumbai Masala sandwich, a quesadilla and some Chai – a total Indian masala chai. The masala chai is terrific. It didn’t take too long to be served and it seemed to be thoughtfully done one dish after another. The presentation itself was a treat making the food all the more appealing. The portion size sumptuous we had enough to be shared among us from each dish. All that we tried out tasted fresh, crunchy with its own unique flavours. Nothing pungent, spicy or over the top, all a play of balanced flavours. The sandwich and the quesadilla served with a side of fresh salad and dips. As I mentioned before, being a vegetarian, tried almost all options except the pasta and the drinks on the menu.

We moved on to the dessert, owing to some confusion, got to try 2 options from the menu. Nicely presented in layers and sufficient
portion size, something to relish. The one with the banoffee oreo cream combo was a rich creamy blast. Already filled up from the food couldn't try more from the desserts.

I don’t recollect having heard much of music at the place, personally I invariably look forward to a nice play of sound that goes with the ambience and keeps up the mood with flavours of the food.

Sure to visit the place again when in the mood for some coffee and snacks and maybe some time for a breakfast round up for something beyond staple Indian options. Great service and good food. Hope it stays that way.

PS - will be great if you reduce rates for tea and coffee
