Place is nice but food is truly awesome! Everything cooked brilliantly by Head Chef Shadab and team - Only the food surprised us and made us think to visit this place again. The way food and kitchen managed by Head Chef Shadab is truly fabulous. To be honest, he is not only a great chef but he is very kind and generous person whom I have had seen engaged with everybody throughout dining time answering all their questions. He and his team looked after everybody really well and the food was DELICIOUS. Thanks for setting it all up and if we plan to come again you will be top of our list.

Awesome place. Extremely well maintained, clean and beautiful place. Looks exactly like it is shown on the website I booked via the hotel website as it offers the best deal Chef Shadab was very professional. We had a good time singing with him and his guitar Awesome food. Amazing view from the breakfast lawn. Rooms are old, but extremely well maintained Clean bathrooms. Efficient hot water geyser which heats water quickly 3-4 mins walk away from Lake. Right next to Coakers walk and byrant park. 5 mins walk to the taxi stand in case you don't have your own vehicle Would love to visit again

It's a nice property on cookers walk. Few rooms are on the main compound which are overlooking the valley while others are in adjacent building with no view. Rooms are big, cozy and clean. They have inhouse restaurant which serves limited menu but the quality is good. They have decent open parking space as well.

One of the best place to stay in Kodaikanal. Mesmerising view with lovely service. Near to all major visiting places & market. Food price is little costly with limited options.

The place is excellent in all parameters. I stayed in a travellers room. Didn’t expect it to be good but it was awesome and very spacious. They have other higher priced rooms which give a great view but i was more than satisfied with the budget travellers room. Food is excellent though bit on the higher price but the service and taste makes up for it. One suggestion is that they could have wifi for the rooms instead of just the reception area. Though you guys call it an experiential stay and one must stay away from devices at such a place but people might want to post pictures or stuff on social media once back in their rooms. All in all awesome experience. Special thanks to rebecca shadab and shankar for make it a memorable one for me

a very cozy centrally located hotel with old world charm great food. The breakfast spread is amazing and the Chef Shadab Husain personally prepares mouthwatering dishes. The best part is the restaurant sit out with live fire place in the night and the beautiful garden sit out overlooking a valley for the breakfast. very helpful and courteous staff immaculately clean and astheticaly designed rooms with great views.

Excellent View from lawn..The chef Shadab and his team were simply fantastic.. also people at reception were Fantastic in their approach..one has to learn from them what is Hospitality called..overall Me and my family had a great time at Villa Retreat

This is one of the best places to enjoy a family friendly or couple friendly staycation. We took the Valley view room and it was worth it. The service was good as they helped with all our requests. We missed the top room which has a balcony. The food was amazing. One of the drawbacks would be, the bathroom had a weird smell which even after cleaning it stayed. One of the best views which you can get in Kodaikanal. Thank you. Kudos! ✌️

Excellent rooms with a beatiful view over the cities under Kodaikanal. Food service is slow but the food is good. Not so many choices when it comes to breakfast though, but it's free if you're an hotel guest. Normal rooms are fine but I would prefer suite rooms when looking at the price. Fireplaces are available inside the suite rooms and in the restaurant. Tours can be arranged for you in the lobby but it is quite expensive. No internet in the rooms though, network is only available in the lobby. Mobile data signals are bad in some of the rooms.Overall good experience here and can definitely recommend this place.

It was a family trip with our two kids. We chose this property based on the reviews of couple of my friends . The location of the property and the valley view from it and it's proximity to the prime sight-seeing places like Bryant Park,Lake,Coaker's walk definitely are the biggest advantages of choosing this property. You can pretty much see and feel the mist given it is very close to the valley. Food was very good though it takes time to get prepared. The chef and the food service personnel were very courteous. The room was very neat too. The security personnel were very friendly and helpful. However, I feel my stay would have been much more memorable had the room service been more better - didn't get hot water in the tap on the first day and it would have been nice if they had atleast offered an immersion heater. We had to take bath in cold water unfortunately as we were getting late for the sight-seeing. They later fixed it in the evening by the time we returned back to the hotel. There were also couple of instances where I had to ask the front desk twice to get it done which I ideally wouldn't accept as a good service having paid such high price. Overall I would say it was a definitely very good stay but not fully satisfied to say this is excellent given the hiccups which could have been avoided or mitigated quickly. I would still want to revisit this place hoping it would be excellent next time around.

Villa Retreat is a jewel. Over the more than 30 years that I know the place, it has managed to maintain its presence in Kodai as a quiet, beautiful, well maintained and welcoming, quaint lodge. The amazing view onto the plains gives a sense of peace and tranquility. The service is top. Villa Retreat is very much part of the fabric of what makes Kodaikanal a unique hill station. Prices are a bit steap, but then again...

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa retreat. The location of this property is just perfect. Adjacent to Cokker walk and opposite to Bryan park. Food quality was really good. The view from the hotel is breathtaking.

I had the best time ever at Kodaikanal at Villa Retreat. Their food is amazing, location is beautiful. We stayed in their family suite which also had an amazing fireplace! The chef, the food, the service, all so beautiful. Trust me, it's worth every penny you spend here. Everyone is so helpful. Would go back again. It's very pretty :)

It was a wonderful experience at Villa Retreat. Very near to the kodai lake, a peaceful calm place to stay. Special mention to the delicious breakfast and lunch we had. Nice hospitality and kind staffs

Location is just amazing. Breakfast is really good. But rooms are small in size and high room service charges are a put off (like food delivery to room, heater, plates etc.)
