Review Dehaati - Kolhapur

Patience Pays Off! Despite waiting an hour for our table, the experience at this restaurant was more than worth it, thanks to their exceptional Mutton Thali. The wait may test your patience, but the flavors in every bite make it all worthwhile. Highly recommend for those craving a delightful culinary journey.

The non veg thali was one of the best we have ever eaten! The mutton masala was delicious. Saw lot of locals coming here for lunch too! The service is great, the waiters are caring and considerate 😊 Totally worth a visit and I recommend coming here.

Dehaati is a well known name for typical Kolhapuri cuisine in Kolhapur. Thoroughly enjoyed the flavoursome Mutton Masala Thali. It wasn't too spicy. Paandhra Rassa was just too good! Fairly priced at around Rs. 440/-. Lovely ambience and friendly staff. The food is good. Pandhara and tambda rassa are fantastic, chapati is soft and goes well with the mutton. The small keema vati was also good. Parking space can be a challenge during peak hours. Highly recommended for meat lovers!!!

Had the best Kolhapuri thali and enjoyed the mutton kheema. Excited to return for the variety of thali options. Waited outside for a while, but it was worth it.

I loved the food. Its pure indulgence. Tambada pandhra Rassa was ultimate. Chugged 6 vatis of Tambada pandhra Rassa. Dehaati special thali was too much for me. I would suggest opting for either mutton thali or chicken thali.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dehaati. The restaurant's decor was modern and tasteful, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Now, let's get to the most important part - the food! I tried a variety of dishes and each one was absolutely delicious. The nonveg dishes were particularly outstanding, with the meat cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The spices used were perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of heat and flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the meat. One dish that particularly stood out to me was the Mutton kheema Thali. The mutton was tender and juicy, and the sauce was rich with just the right amount of spice. The mutton cutlets were also exceptional. I also tried the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection with a delicious marinade that made them melt in my mouth. Forgot to click a picture of this one. Giving one star less as there Chicken thali was really an average one. The service was impeccable as well. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Overall, I would highly recommend this nonveg special restaurant to anyone looking for delicious, authentic mutton thali.

We had visited here as a group of 8 people in December. This is no way "authentic" Kolhapuri. We ordered special mutton thaali, chicken thaali and also veg. The only things that tasted good were tambda pandhra rassa. Rest of the food was nowhere close to authentic Kolhapuri. The texture and taste was more close to North Indian than Kolhapuri. Check the pictures posted here by other reviewers, the food looks more North Indian than Kolhapuri. We love North Indian food but we were there for authentic Kolhapuri cuisine. Goli (or Goti?) pulaav was even more disappointing. The meat balls did not taste like meat, the pulaav tasted like pulaav though. So the mutton thaali suddenly tasted like pure veg food at the end. All of us were disappointed. Would never recommend this restaurant.

I had very much unsatisfied experience here. Price to quantity ratio is very large. Though it is very costly, I did not find it value for MOney.

This restaurant is know for asal Kolhapuri thali meal. Restaurant was recommended to me by one of my friend, so thought let's give it a try. To keep is very simple -

Its was authentic Kolhapur meal with good amount of spices 😝 so people who prefer spicy cuisine will love it. The staff was also polite and friendly and the service was quick. Please do not consider it as a normal thali restaurant specially for the people traveling from Mumbai as they have some bigger expectations when they hear about thali restaurant.

Quick, hygienic and tasty food with good decent service is what they provide.

Must try - Mutton Lonchi (Lamb pickle)
Tambada and pandra rassa
Bhakri
And lastly eating food with good smile on your face πŸ˜ƒ

A commercialised typical Kolhapuri thali. Huge in qty. Garam garam chapattis tambada pandhara with types of veg nonvg options.
Lil bit spicy for non Kolhapuri ppl but you'll enjoy thoroughly.
Ambience is nice, staff is co-operative.

Dehaati Kolhapur was one of the highly rated restaurants on many other platforms. But its rating on zomato was in lower 3. I was wondering why is that and decided to still try it out.

We reached for lunch after some waiting we were seated.
The restaurant ambience was good nice clean and modern.

Their speciality are all you can eat thalis and special kolhapuri mutton and chicken preparations.

We tried out dehaati non veg special thali. It had following

Tambda and pandhra rassa: perhaps only good thing in thali.. Nicely spiced and tasty rassa served hot.

Mutton masala: very average dish. Just had red color and no flavour or spices.

Chicken fry: average dish. Only Color and no tatse.

Mutton kheema: very less quantity of minced mutton and more onions and oil. Disappointed

Mutton goli pulav: pulav with mutton meatballs.

Additional starter

Mutton lonche: Very bad. Absolutely no flavour at all.

Solkadhi: good balance of taste and flavour

This was total disappointment having meal here and totally ruin my trip. I would not recommend anyone visiting here.

Service was slow and took 20 mins to get food.

Ambience 4/5
Food 1/5
Service 2/5
VFM 1/5

OVERALL 2/5

Suggested by a localite as currently the best place for Kolhapuri Thali in the city. With no further ado we straight hit this place for lunch on a weekday. The place was jam packed and we had to hold our hungry senses for a couple of minutes.

Ambiance(3/5): The interior is pretty basic and nothing fancy. Though clean and neat.

Food(4.5/5): Food was good, taste as well as quality wise. Being married to a Kolhapuri family, I would still rate the homemade preparations more. We had the special thali which had chicken as well as mutton, Mutton thalis with mutton masala, mutton fry. And mutton chops.

Pandhara rassa(4/5): Good. Not the best though. Would love if it hit the throat a little more with the pungency.

Tambada rassa(5/5): This was a burst of flavours. Perfectly spiced with red chilli and all the garam masala and just the right amount of mutton jus.

Mutton masala(3.5): Taste wise this was good. Though the masala seemed to not marry the mutton pieces as well. Seems like the mutton was cooked separately and then stirred with the prepared masala while served. On the other hand the mutton pieces were succulent and melt in the mouth.

Chicken masala(3/5): The masala was exactly same as the one in the mutton. Go for the mutton instead.

Mutton chop(4.5/5): The meat just came off the bone. This was cooked to perfection with good spices. The bone was chewable as well. Haven’t had such well cooked mutton in a while. Spices could have been a bit more better though.

Mutton fry(4/5): Again almost the same spices as in mutton chop.

Special mutton kofta rice(5/5): A must must have !! The meat balls were amaze!! And rice super flavourful, lathered with ghee.

Solkadhi(4.5/5): Perfection!!

Service(4/5): Prompt and welcoming.

VFM:(5/5): 400 per thali is a total steal for the taste and quality.

This is one the best restaurant in Kolhapur. They mainly serve Non veg and there are very few options for vegetarian food mainly comprising of a thali. Their thali serves such good variety of vegetables for veg and very tasty chicken and other non vegetarian items in non veg thali.
If you are looking for a joint to eat at in Kolhapur then you must visit this place and try out their delicious thalis. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Coming to kolhapur after ages, was very excited to try the authentic kolhapur cuisine starting with pandhara and tambda rassa. After going through Zomato I zeroed in dehaati and was really looking forward to satisfy my taste buds. While this place had perfect pandhara rassa and tambda rassa, rest of the meal was sheer disappointment as it did not deliver anything in terms of taste. The mutton chops fry was not cooked properly and both chicken and mutton Thalis were poor on taste. Will surely recommend this place but only to enjoy the rassa and also that it is hygienic and the ambience too is descent. But it's definitely a one time visit only.
Dehati, Kolhapur
#travelpost

I visited dehati recently after getting recommendation from my friends and family. The ambience is simple yet elegant and seating is comfortable.

I tried chicken masala thali and chicken fry portion. Chicken masala and fry portions were full of flavours and the tambada pandhara were extremely well blended. The chapati was served hot. The pulav portion was also nicely done.

Overall : Service was prompt and restaurant was hygienic. The staff was polite and friendly. As my daughter was not well we asked them to reheat the food which we were carrying with us and the staff happily agreed to it. Paid Rs 660/- which was worth every penny. I must say it was undoubtedly one of the best places I have visited and is a highly recommended place.

Location : Old Pune Bangalore Highway, Nimbalkar Colony, Shahpuri, Kolhapur.

For a taste of some local Kolhapuri cuisine, this is a very good restaurant. The non veg selections is particularly good. The various thalis are the best to try out. Good quantity and quality. Service is also quite quick and good. Hygiene at its best. For all Tambda pandara rassa lovers do try. Water also included in meal.

Had heard a lot of praise for this place "a must place for Kolhapuri thali".
Reached at 1:15pm and had to wait in the queue for some 30 min. Surely that tells the story.
We opted for Chicken thali - dry masala chicken, egg curry, tambda & pandhra rassa and chapati+rice. What an awesomely treat.
Great.
