Review Laxmi Misal - Kolhapur

We stumbled upon this Misal spot in Kolhapur, the closest one to where we parked. After our visit to Mahalaxmi Temple around 3:30 PM, most Misal places nearby had shut down for the day. But, according to Google Maps, this one was still open, so we gave it a shot. The Misal looked really spicy and tasty with its nice red rassa. Surprisingly, it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy; the heat was just right. Having it with bread slices made it even better. Overall, it turned out to be a great choice, proving that sometimes what you see is as good as it looks!

Misal is always my weak point, In kolhapur there are many places famous for misal but after recommendation of one of my friends we decided to go here and we really liked this misal, misal color was red and if you looked at the texture of the rassa then you will feel like this misal is spicy but this is not the case, this misal was spicy in proper proportion a d with bread slice it was really good for the taste. Solkadi is also fresh , we drink 3 glasses of Solkadi each.

I went with high expectations as this is Misal House is one of the oldest in the Kolhapur and few local folks recommended this place for Kolhapur Special Misal. It was okay okay sort of experience as it didn’t meet my expectations but overall I would say was Good one considering location, quality and service.

Best misal... It was very tasty. Not too spicy . All the spices were in very well balanced.Buttermilk is also very good. Nice service.

Had a good experience at Laxmi Misal. Misal Pav was very tasty (not too super hot). But taste is very good. Service is excellent and you will be looked after. Good seating area. Solkadhi was very refreshing after Misal!

I've traveled throughout India trying different Chai. This has one of the best chais available. not too grand or anything, just a simple well made good Chai.

Tried misal pav along with bhaji here. Taste was good. Many celebrities visit this hotel as you can see that on tv displayed at the entrance. Misal was not that spicy as many people think that Kolhapuri means spicy. But you will realise that it’s a particular taste which is in between spicy and mild. They also provide kat or tarri along with misal if you want to make it spicy. Bhaji was crispy. You can have it with misal gravy to get even better taste. Service was quick and prompt. Owner himself looks at the customers. Overall good option to try out for misal and bhaji.

Very tasty and delicious Special Kolhapuri Misal Pav

After having the divine darshan of the goddess Mahalakshmi early in the morning we went to have our breakfast at Laxmi Misal which is a must visit place while in Kolhapur to experience the authentic Kolhapuri food tradition. Their ambience is truly rustic with a small quiet setting where they play yesteryear songs which will transport you to a different era. They serve their misal which is mildly spiced with a special chivda and bread slices instead of Pav which was really surprising to a Punekar. But the bread was fresh and went very well with the misal. They keep refilling the rassa and bread many times and their welcoming attitude is heart warming. Its truly an iconic place and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kolhapur. Have definitely become a fan of this place.

One of best misal in pune.. The masala they use is quite fiery😅😅 so choose based on Thikhat(Red hot), Medium(recommended), light thikhat(without spicy).. Those who love spicy go for Thikhat 🥵.. otherwise go for medium!!! Mathha(buttermilk), Soul kadhi, is add on to neutralize red hotness(to calm nerves from fiery rassa).. service is also quick..

Super taste ! Laxmi misal lived up to the name it has made. The misal was very tasty, with good balance of spicy and hot tastes. It is definitely not just a red hot misal. The place is very small, has just 4-5 tables to sit. So you might see people waiting outside especially on weekends. Will definitely recommend this place 👍🏻

One of the best authentic and oldest misal in kolhapur. Atmosphere was good . Kanda bhaji and misal combination was the best . They have their own misal masala that everyone should try it .

Liked the misal! Nor too spicy neither too bland. It was perfect ! The कांदा भाजी (onion pakoda) was also top notch! The servers are also friendly. The special tea was very refreshing. Over all was really homely and good 👍

When it comes to real Kolhapuri Misal , me n my family always prefer Laxmi Misal only . Look of restaurant is old but that gives you homely feel of old Kolhapur .. authentic taste of misal beats everyone in Kolhapur . Service is very good ; Kanda bhaji n special tea is also unique. …but misal takes heart away as it is above mark of kolhapuri misal .. Whenever I have guests from outside city n they want to have typical kolhapuri misal , I recommend them Laxmi misal only & till date all have given good rating for quality food n service .

Misal is tasty. Service is amazing. Staff is very friendly and polite. Service is quick. Ambience can be improved.
