Review Zen - Kolkata (Calcutta)

24th Dec dinner is always special. Although took hours to get our food delivered on table with less rush due to less staff but I guess I had to accept the apology considering the food is was not bad. Loved the calm ambience and decor of the place. No doubt they have one of the best selling sushi in Kolkata. However trying Chinese food section for the first time I would say it is not bad considering the food quality is excellent. Fried Duck in hot garlic sauce was good but having tried it I would recommend you to go with steamed duck. Fried rice in sticky rice was very fulfilling and more than enough for two. Not impressed with the steamed wonton Dimsum though. Pan fried noodle in pepper is a must try.

I am not going to write a whole lot of introduction for this place. Just a single sentence - Hands down the best Sushi I have eaten anywhere in Kolkata. The quality of the fish is impeccable. Both the tuna and the salmon just melted in the mouth. I had never thought that raw tuna can taste this good. Each one of the sushi tasted heavenly! We also ordered Beef in hot basil sauce and Garlic Edamame Fried Rice. The main course was good too but the sushi stole the show. Anyone who loves sushi should try this place atleast once to experience what authentic one tastes like. Now I cannot eat sushi from any other place that I have tasted those served at Zen. It's amazing. Can't recommend enough!

The restaurant resides inside the legendary park hotel. But over the years its charm has degraded so are the delicacies it offers. With various other options in kolkata the zen doesn't offer you much in terms of food ambience and value for money as well.

Lovely restaurant with excellent dishes from Thailand, Japan and Indonesia Excellent service. The sushi's are very well made and fresh. Surprisingly the deserts were excellent

A nice restaurant located on first floor inside The Park hotel on Park Street. The decor and ambience is excellent. Lighting is beautiful. Offers oriental cuisine including Thai, Japanese, Bhutanese and Chinese cuisine. A perfect place for fine dining. Tried Hunan Chicken for starters followed by Chicken in Thai green curry with steamed rice. All were excellent. Staff is courteous, helpful and efficient. Valet parking available.

Zen At The Park is one of the finest places I have visited for oriental cuisine in Kolkata. The Authentic approach to create the perfect gourmet experience with curated menu is going to leave a divine experience. With brilliant service and experience at the kitchen, Zen At the Park checked off all the boxes in my opinion. The ambiance of the place is very subtle and timeless. Following are the dishes I had during my Gourmet Trail with Zen At The Park: Sushi : Maguro Gunkan Sushi (Zen Signature Steamed tuna salad sushi) -Dim Sum :Chungfan American Corn, Broccoli, water chestnut. -Starter :Gohan Age Salada (Crispy sushi rice with seaweed and top of Asparagus dressing) -Soup : Kao Soy (Thai curry with coconut soup noodle and vegetable served along with condiment) -Main Course -Potato Dumpling spinach wrapped in Pumpkin Cheese Sauce. -Zen Style stir fried flat flower noodle -Thai Herb Rice Dessert : Custard Burger Cocktail : Orange Key This place is perfect for family dinner, dinner dates and business lunches/dinner. Nestled within the iconic Park Hotel, The Zen Restaurant once held a charm that was as legendary as the hotel itself. However, the passage of time has not been kind to this culinary haven. Regrettably, the enchantment that once enveloped its ambiance has gradually eroded, leaving behind a dining experience that falls short of expectations. While The Zen was once celebrated for its delectable offerings, it pains me to admit that the quality of its delicacies has waned over the years. What were once mouthwatering delights have lost their luster, leaving patrons longing for the exceptional flavors they once savored.

Visited this place on 25th of December and I must say I'd be coming back again to enjoy the delicacies. Awesome ambience, the staff has got a good behaviour and knowledge for the choices of wine we wanted to drink. Food is amazing, served hot but takes a bit of time except from that its delicious. I love Chinese food so if you want excellent Chinese cuisine, it's a must visit. Price is reasonable and food quantity is sufficient for each person.

Great food, very good service. We had the salmon maki, crispy chicken, dim sum and Thai curry. Everything was delicious. We were a party of 8 and Pragati took very good care of us. It’s a little expensive but must visit if you love Asian cuisine.
