Review Balaram Mullick & Radharaman Mullick - Kolkata (Calcutta)

One of Bengal's top confectioners, Balaram Mullick offers both traditional and contemporary sweets. When I visited their Bhawanipur location, they had a wide selection of baked goods and sweets. The store had a pleasant atmosphere. Despite being expensive, the broad variety of high-quality products draws plenty of people who enjoy sweets. The average cost of the candies is between 25 and more rupees. The sweets are tasty and fresh, satisfying the sweet tooth of those who enjoy them. To name a few, Baked Rosogolla, Jol Bhora, various Sandesh tastes, Misti Doi, etc., are delicious. The store also charges for a carry bag, but the bag's quality was so poor that it couldn't hold the burden.

Sweets are awesome. If you are a vegetarian then its a perfect place to had some foods. There are varieties of sweets, desserts and also snacks are also available there. I think its better than Haldiram, its according to my taste.

Located near the Netaji Bhawan Metro, this is one of the best sweet shops in Kolkata. They have been making sweets since 1885. This is a big sweet shop with different varieties of sweet you have ever imagined. There is blueberry doi ( curd ) , baked Rosogolla, Gur soufflé, chocolate sondesh etc. Prices are reasonable and affordable. They have a good collection of pastries and bread. Staffs are polite and nice. Definitely worth the visit. Would love to visit once again.

One of the oldest and famous sweet shops in Kolkata. It has many branches in the same city but I went to its place of origin. Tasty sweets await you. There are also North Indian and Chinese food options if your mouth gets too sweet. Connectivity: walking distance from Netaji Bhavan Metro Station. I personally recommend you: 1. Baked Rosogolla (absolute show stopper) 2. Cham Cham 3. Aam Shorbat (had it twice) 4. Butterscotch Sondesh 5. Blueberry Mishti Doi 6. Chandrakala You can also take away parcels but remember to carry solid items only if you are travelling by airplane or any other modes of transport since Mishti Doi can take some turns on the way and it can get spoiled. Also ask them about the validity of sweets.

So basically their sandesh is the best n fresh!!! The chocolate mudpie is love!!🤭......their paneer sandwich is also good the pastries r delicious but mithais like rasgulla n gulabjamoon r too sweet so it's a no for sweets like that also when u buy a chocolate mudpie make sure u ask them to heat it, it tastes delicious!

Many locals would recommend you this place if you ask for good mithai (sweets) shops. The establishment is impressive and impressive is array of sweets they have. Going by the crowds thronging the place you can correctly assume it is popular place, too. Kolkata is a city easy on your pocket but you can't say the same about 'sweets' here. Even locals , and a number of those i talked to, admit prices are high and popular sweet shops are much hyped charging irrational premium on their sweets. Same stuff, rather better one, is available at number of small tucked away sweet shops, they claim. Only if you know some local n who can guide you to those hidden gems! Oldest and one of the famous shop of Kolkata. It is said that if one has come to Kolkata then he must try 1) fish and 2) sweets. All types of Bengali sweets are available here. Few of famous sweets are baked rosgulla, Rosgulla,chum chum, sandesh, misti dhoi etc. In this shop cakes, pasteries, cookies are also available. Most of the sweets has to be consumed in a day or two as they are made of milk. My personal favourite are misti dhoi, chumchum and baked Rosgulla. Prices are a little higher side. They even charge for packing.

The misti doi had no lid and as such my complete order was ruined as doi fell all over the cloth packet. Also Dhokla which I ordered was not part of the parcel I received.

This outlet is very good. I just have one complaint that is that your sweets are too sweet in general. If the sweetness is reduced a touch bit then this is the best place for sweets

Few acquaintances and ever bankable google pointed their fingers here and that's how I ended up at Balaram Mullick.<br/><br/>So first things first. Roshogullas were insanely good here. It was perfectly moist and didn't boast of sugary sweetness. It was difficult to stop after devouring only one. Incredible stuff! <br/><br/>My connection to Mishti Doi was through Oh Calcutta! And to be very honest it was disappointing. Well, whatever questions I had about the Mishti Doi hype was thrown out into the Hoogli River (just couldn't resist using this touristy analogy) by Balaram Mullick. It was that good!<br/><br/>Cham cham was another delightful delicacy to try at Balaram's. Though similar to Roshogulla, it was served in thickened sweet milk. Worth trying.<br/><br/>Shondesh was a bit underwhelming as it was too dry for my liking. I guess I have been swayed away too much by the sweet syrupy moistness of other Bengali sweets.<br/><br/>. . .<br/><br/>Well, I did miss out trying Baked Roshogullas for which Balaram is known. On my visit here as we are in a hurry thinking of grabbing to good delectable bites for craving our sweet tooth,we decided to dig into some pastries the other day and tried some unique one's such as Gur Pastry nd Choco cake with white choco topping all of which did'nt disappoint us at all.The outlet really is living upto it's name even today

Misti magic and balaram mallick. When it comes to pastry, sondesh , snacks balaram mallick is on top. We ordered radhaballvi, mango sufle and rabri, which all together costs 142 , a bit over priced. Yet in taste, texture it was mouth watering. Lovely place to visit & explore kolkata sweets.

I ordered in via uber eats as it was a "veg day" and I wanted something tasty and I was not disappointed. Needless to mention, the packaging and taste were too good. I ordered:<br/>1. Daal singara- very small samosa with a filling of whole dals with a lemony tang. I felt it was very very sour.<br/>2. Mushroom patties- with literally a tinnnyyy bit of mushroom. It was more like a cabbage and capsicum patties.<br/>3. Paneer patties- good to taste. The stuffing had distinct flavour of cloves which was alright.<br/>4. Soya cutlet-loved it. Minced soyabean and capsicum and a great flavour. Too good!<br/>5. Veg chop- taste was great, just as it should be.<br/>6. Choco lava- one of it's kind. This is a heavenly sweet and very innovative as well.<br/>Will definitely reorder to try their other items.

It is the worst sweet shop that I witnessed. Not a true value for money.Tried their mango kulfi and Frankly speaking there was nothing in it.They priced it Rupees 80.Prices of other items are also very high.Does'nt fits the pocket of Normal man.

Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick is one of the best sweet shops in Kolkata and surrounding areas as already known to all. This outlet is located near Netaji Bhavan metro station or Jadubabu Bazar. They have variety of sweets and they are really of good quality. I had been at this outlet for twice. I really liked their behaviour, atmosphere and sandesh specially. Their potol sandesh is one of my favourite.

An offer on an online food delivery app prompted me to order some snacks/savouries from the reputed sweet shop Balaram Mullick & Radharaman Mullick which also serves savouries these days.<br/><br/>The packaging : Came in their usual  thin board box . <br/><br/>The actuals : <br/><br/>Ordered for three Cheese Paneer wraps .<br/><br/>Now for the unpleasant surprise :<br/><br/>Do not know why they were called cheese paneer wraps as there was no sign of any cheese . Only one of the three pieces I received had a sparse sprinkling of some cheese just on the top ( please look at the attached picture )<br/>Quite oily and the two so called wraps were extremely limpy with some paneer inside.<br/>Please avoid.<br/><br/>The Verdict : <br/>Disappointed  to say the least . Raised an issue with the App through which I ordered .<br/>Though Balaram Mullick is a name to reckon with as far as their sweets are concerned , they should hugely improve their savouries or at best discontinue serving them.

Any introduction needed? I think no. Standing at its height, they have a name which needs no introduction. So we tried many things but recently had kheer doi and blueberry doi. Both the dois were great. I personally would prefer blueberry doi than kheer doi because the latter is quite too sweet, otherwise it's just great.

Today I visited this place and the quality and service became pathetic with time. I’m a person who never liked sweets from none other than Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick. But today at first I found a hair in kulfi and when I complained I received nothing but their reluctance. Then I ordered Doi Bora for which they carelessly packed the container and it remained open and it spilled over the other boxes and also all over my dress. Then I when I tasted the Doi Bora it was too hard and no sign of curd was there. Also I gave the person some speciations for added spices and chutney who was making it for me, I realized it all was in vein. She just gave me something crap and finished her job.<br/>I must say people just pay the overprice to experience the perfect taste and quality. If your shop is missing all of that I would recommend the customers not to go and try other brands.

Went to try their season special Nolen Gur Kulfi but couldn't resist ordering Baked Misti Doi for the starters xP<br/>Had high hopes from the Kulfi and honestly it didn't disappoint. This place is heaven for sweet tooth like me. This place was in my bucket list for so long time finally I reached there. Heard so much about their baked rasogolla. Trust me this is the sweet you won't forget for long time. I also tasted some chocolate based sweets and those are also heavenly to my taste buds.

Mudpie😋<br/><br/>This shop was started by Ganesh Chandra Mullick. He came to Calcutta from Konnagar took up a job in a sweetshop in North Calcutta as a karigar(worker). But being an entrepreneurial guy decided to startup in the then sparsely populated Bhawanipur. His decision to start a shop in Bhawanipore was a smart one as North Calcutta was overcrowded with sweet shops. The shop became established quickly and found many patrons including Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee. The legacy of Ganesh Chandra Mullick was carried forward by his brother Balaram Mullick and his son Radharaman Mullick.<br/><br/>With the passage of time the Balaram’s has become a throbbing venture of five generations with several branches all over the city. It's traditionally famous for sweet treats such as chenna payesh (milk pudding with cottage cheese), as well as sor rabri, sor bhaja, kancha golla, sitabhog, roshomalai and mishti doi, all prepared according to time-tested family recipes. Don't miss out seasonal delicacies, including mango-flavoured sweets such as aamer sandesh and mango doi in summer, and Nolen Gur Rosogollas and Jalbhora Sandesh in winter. More recently, it has also started making fusion sweets - think creme brulee sandesh and chocolate-based desserts.

Had a hot dog and some vada kind of thing. Didn't like any of it. But the sweet lime was fine. Had throw both the things, still will revisit again try different things. Won't judge a place based on two stuffs only. As their service was fast.

Post renovation they could have made a better and efficient floor planning for the customers, never the less their products never compromise on quality.

What more is left to say about Balaram Mullick and radharaman Mullick sweets, too good. Must try all their sweets, natural flavours too good.

Balaram mullick is known for their creativity when it comes to sweet. Have been ordering here since I was a kid. Recently we ordered their mango doi (4/5) which is amazing. It takes just a second to melt in your mouth. Recommended ❤

Located inside the Bhawanipur market area, this outlet is simply exquisite. As a first timer, you often get confused with the plethora of mouth watering Bengali sweets stacked over there. They have different packages of 250 gm ,500 gm and so on for this. One can also buy their desired quantity on retail.<br/><br/>The pastries are also yummy. Their kulfi and other snacks are also good.<br/><br/>Cost is not on a higher side. Value for money.<br/>

The staff is very rude , even the owner sitting there spoke very rudely, the friendly nature of balram has gone away, if this continues probably there will be ppl not visiting the store

Best place to have kolkata mithai. Have amazing variety of sondesh among which i love black current sondesh. A must visit place for sondesh and mithai lover. Also the kulfi falooda here was amazing.

I am a regular visitor, and I love their sweets. But their staff are so reluctant and often rude unless you place a bulk order. Maybe they are understaffed, but these people really need to work on their attitude towards customers.
