Review Kareem's - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Utsav Sinha
Went for lunch on a weekday. Parking - no restaurant parking, private parking outside. It can be tough during peak hours. Ambiance - Average, 2 floors, a bit cramped. Just one washroom. Food - Ordered tandoori chicken, grilled prawns, mutton karachi, butter naan, tandoori alo, paneer kadhai. All items were good and had nice flavors Dessert - limited dessert options, most of them were over by 2pm. Service - Good service, average ambiance. Very limited veg and dessert options. Overall really good food. A must try.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kareem's, and I must say that it was an exceptional culinary experience. From the moment I stepped foot inside the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for the evening. Kareem's menu boasts a diverse range of dishes from various cuisines, and each one is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and truly tantalizing to the taste buds. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean delights, Middle Eastern classics, or even fusion creations, Kareem's has something to offer for everyone. One standout dish that I highly recommend is their mutton Nalli biryani... The tender and succulent pieces of meat were perfectly seasoned, leaving a burst of flavors in every bite. Accompanied by a side of fluffy rice and a refreshing cucumber yogurt sauce, this dish was a true highlight of the evening. The service at Kareem's was impeccable, with the staff being attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The restaurant's decor is stylish and modern, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for diners. The seating arrangements allow for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings, making it suitable for various occasions. Overall, Kareem's is a culinary gem that offers an outstanding dining experience. Whether you're a food enthusiast looking to explore new flavors or simply seeking a memorable meal, Kareem's is the place to be. With its delectable dishes, attentive service, and inviting ambiance, I can confidently say that my visit to Kareem's was an absolute delight..... must visit this place.
Onelife
I visited saltlake Kareem's for 1st time, and the visit was pleasant , we visited the place for dinner, and that time the restaurant was near about empty, and it was almost 11at night, but the employees of the restaurant treated us very sophisticatedly. At first i would like to say about the ambiance , which was great as like as other Kareem's and of course the theme was the same as other outlates, but the restaurant is hell big . Now if I say about the food , we have ordered chicken kalimiri kababs, butter naan, butter chicken & kadai chicken. All of the dishes was tasty but i liked the butter chicken most, rest of the items were so so to me. Kalimiri kababs were not that impressive to me. But people can try once. Price are always high of Kareem's. For a single dish you have to pay ₹400 atlist. Overall experience was great. If you like to have food from different foods different restaurants , you can check it out the restaurant.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by an ambiance that perfectly blends modern elegance with the grandeur of Mughal architecture. The culinary journey at Fansy Mughlai is nothing short of regal. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with precision and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. The succulent kebabs, meticulously marinated and cooked to perfection in the tandoor, are a true testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs. One cannot help but marvel at the attention to detail that goes into every dish. The creamy and indulgent Shahi Mutton Korma takes center stage, with tender pieces of meat enveloped in a velvety gravy that's a harmonious blend of aromatic spices. The Biryani, served in traditional handi pots, is a work of art that's unraveled at your table, releasing an intoxicating aroma that's as enchanting as the flavors themselves. There is nothing to say about the service since it is as nice as the atmosphere of the restaurant. The area of the restaurant is a corporate site. In a corporate landscape where time is a luxury, this fancy Mughlai Restaurant offers a respite—a chance to savor the richness of Mughlai cuisine in an ambience that mirrors the grandeur of the past.

Overall experience was wonderful. Beautiful ambience with delicious food, no doubt it was completely satisfying❤️. I found this place very less crowded maybe because of the weekdays. Every food was top to the mark. The Dum Biryani's taste is slightly different from the typical Kolkata Briyani ( Arsalan, Aminia, Dada Boudi, Shiraz, etc) but it feels great, and yes yes don't worry along with this you will get one egg, and most favourite Biryani's Alu🤤. A full plate of Dum Biryani can cover two people (if taking side dishes), and 4 pieces of mutton are in a full plate of Biryani. So if you have not tried it yet then you should try it once.👍

The food was really good. Please try the Chicken Tangri Kulfi Kabab and Murgh Musallam. The Biriyani of Kareem's Chinar Park is much better. Had a lovely evening!!!!

Ah, Sector V, the concrete jungle where our academic dreams took root. And amidst its steel and glass, stood Kareem's, a haven of aroma and warmth. First outing with professors! Today, it wasn't just the mutton biryani that simmered, but nostalgia too. Dr. Sujay, our HOD, with his twinkling eyes and infectious enthusiasm, had orchestrated this reunion. Vhysakh, his golden boy, back from Poland, a PhD gleaming on his resume. We, Ankita and I, mere Masters students, huddled around like chicks seeking warmth. Vhysakh, once our institute student , now a seasoned researcher, spun tales of Krakow's cobbled streets, of labs buzzing with ideas, and of late-night debates that fueled his thesis. His words, spiced with laughter and wisdom, painted a future we could almost taste. Dr. Sujay, ever the catalyst, egged us on. "See, Ankita? This is what passion does! Vhysakh dreamt, dared, and look at him now!" Ankita, ever the pragmatist, countered, "But Poland, Dr. Sujoy? Isn't that, like, another planet?" Vhysakh chuckled, "Another planet with the no biryani, believe me." He winked at the steaming dish, its aroma a silent language we all understood. It spoke of shared meals in the canteen, of late-night study sessions fueled by chai and gossip, of friendships forged in the crucible of exams. As the last morsel of biryani vanished, a bittersweet ache bloomed in my chest. Vhysakh's journey, both literal and metaphorical, had ignited a spark within us. Maybe Poland wasn't just a dot on the map anymore, but a possibility, a whisper of "what if?" We stepped out of Kareem's, the Kolkata night air buzzing with newfound dreams. Vhysakh, our Pied Piper of academia, had led the way, leaving behind a trail of mutton-scented inspiration. And in that moment, Sector V wasn't just a concrete jungle anymore. It was a launchpad, a constellation of possibilities, all thanks to a steaming plate of biryani and a story whispered across continents.

Kareem's in Kolkata is an exceptional culinary gem that takes your taste buds on a delightful journey through the flavors of Mughlai cuisine. From the moment you step in, the warm ambiance and attentive service set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu boasts a wide array of traditional Mughlai dishes, each expertly prepared with the perfect balance of spices and textures. The succulent kebabs, especially the Galouti and Seekh kebabs, are tender and bursting with aromatic flavors. For the main course, their biryanis are a standout, with fragrant basmati rice layered with tender meat and rich spices. The creamy butter chicken and robust mutton korma are equally impressive, leaving you craving for more. Vegetarians are in for a treat too, as Kareem's offers a range of flavorful paneer and vegetable dishes that are just as mouthwatering. The presentation of each dish is impeccable, reflecting the care and passion put into the culinary artistry. Portion sizes are generous, making it an ideal spot for sharing a feast with family and friends. The restaurant's dessert selection is equally enticing, with the delectable Shahi Tukda and creamy Phirni standing out as perfect sweet endings to a delightful meal. While the restaurant might be a bit on the higher price range, the quality of the food and the overall experience justify every penny spent. If you're looking to savor the rich flavors of Mughlai cuisine in Kolkata, Kareem's is a must-visit destination that promises an indulgent journey into the world of culinary delights.

This was one of the first restaurants I visited after the lockdown and it was definitely worth it. The mouthwatering food along with the soothing decor and courteous staff won my heart absolutely. The place maintains careful sanitisation and temperature check and serves the best MUGHLAI in Kolkata no doubt. Must visit after this depressing lockdown.<br/>Must try dishes : Hard to choose as every item in the menu is tempting. But do take a kebab in the starter. Biriyani in main course and FIRNI IS A MUST IN DESSERT.

Great ambience, food is great, go for their speciality kebabs and main course too,, biryani is a bit off beat, not the general taste, all in all great experience

Waah Kareem's...<br/>Sounds identical? Well..this restaurant deserves an applaud..the ambience is comforting..giving u a posh feeling as soon as u step in..the staff are prompt and co-operative..<br/><br/>We started off with murgh malai tikka and I can ensure that this is the best one i have had till date..<br/>The soft juicy succulent chicken coated with generous amount of malai will make u drool over ur plates and u r bound to lick your fingers..accompanied by onions soaked in vinegar and drenched in red sauce..the heavenly combo one can have. <br/>Next one another wonder..murgh potli kebab..one of its kind.. well marinated chicken fillet filled with diced chicken pieces with cashew and other spices..loved the concept..the fillet was drizzled in malai and i absolutely loved the flavours..the kebabs were good and heavy..<br/><br/>The kareem's special gosht dum biriyani was a little off palate for me..the rice was lacking the aroma and its more of a spice mixed rice than a biriyani..the potato was good as it is supposed to be.. i think they serve 4-5 pieces of mutton in that biriyani and somehow they were chewy and less flavourful after the amazing kebab experience..<br/>But neverthelesss, when the raita was struggling to complement the biriyani, the best companion to it arrived in the form of Gosht karachi...<br/>This is one of the best curries i have ever had in my entire life..the lamb was super soft and tender..juicy..and the gravy was tangy..spicy and sweet at the same time..just gave that achaari feel..and i loved it..<br/>The kesari malai firni was again a turn off for me..just missed the mark..i had better firnis elsewhere....<br/>Overall a wonderful experience out here except a tad bit overpriced maybe..worth a visit

Visited Kareem's Sector V outlet today..The ambience was nice ,the staff was very courteous and all other covid measures were accurately maintained.Good hygiene . <br/>Coming to the food,<br/>Malai kebab was ordered which i would rate 4 as it was okk..might not be ordering it next time because didnt get the proper flavour.<br/>The Biriyani flavour was somewhere missing also.<br/>Bu i liked the Gosht Karachi which had a nice taste and would go well with naan also ..All of you can give a try.. Rating it a complete 5.<br/>But taste for kebab and biriyani was not as expected.<br/>Will think twice before visiting kareem's for having a lunch.<br/><br/><br/>

Kareem's was on my wish list for so long. At last, we visited this outlet, and the experience was quite great. They are following the COVID-19 guidelines in a perfect way. Now let's talk about food. <br/><br/>#1. Murgh Potli Kebab(4.5/5):- This one is a speciality of Kareem's. It is like a bag (potli) of chicken. The outer coating is made up of chicken. There is a mixture of minced chickens, cashews and other spices inside it. <br/><br/>#Gosht Dum Biryani(4/5):- Well the biryani of Kareem's is very famous. But the quantity could be better. According to me, the fragrance of this very biryani was overpowering. I have tried biryanis from many places, and so I can say that this biryani was good but not the best.<br/><br/><br/>#Chicken Lahori(4.5/5):-This dish was great in taste. We enjoyed this dish with biryani. But the quantity could be better.<br/><br/>#Malai Phirni (3/5):- The phirni failed to meet my expectations. I have tried far better phirni in some other restaurants.<br/>Okay last but not the least. Rather it was the gem of our dinner.<br/><br/>#Shahi Tukda(5/5):- I have heard a lot about Shahi tukda of Kareem's. It was excellent is taste. I think this shahi tukda is the best shahi tukda of this city.<br/><br/>The ambience was great. Overall the experience was quite good.

If you love Biryani this is not the place. Potli Kebab, kulfi kebab filled with cheese are worth a try. Prices a bit on the high side. Ambiance is awesome. Service and staff good. Didn't like the mutton Karachi. But loved the mutton keema hari mirch that we took parcel !
Saharukh Hassan
I took percel of Mutton briyani (kareem's special). Taste is not at all good and also they gave mostly bone pieces which is again not worth it considering the price. Very much dissatisfied with it.

I had been there at 23 August with my friends at 2pm in the afternoon everything was fantastic.Their sanitization part behaviour of their stuff kebabs everything was upto the mark but most annoying part was after having starters when we were about to go for main course and that was their famous biriyanis we gotta know that it was out of stock and it will take minimum 4 hrs to make it prepared it was quite disappointing for us from a well known restaurant was unable to serve main courses basically their point was no main course was available it was around 3'O clock that time we also asked them if it tooks 1 hours so we can wait but they failed to arrange anything so we had to go outside and find another restaurants to have main course apart from that everything was fine.

Very bad food <br/>Absolutely Hopeless taste<br/>Had to throw away , could not give to anyone

I loved the food... After a long time I had quality food. The restaurant is well sanitized with well behaved staffs. Lovely courteous staff, loved the ambience, enjoyed the food. <br/>When you enter a staff is present who takes your temperature and sanitizes you well. Then they take you to a table that is well distanced from your neighbour table. Then we ordered for paya shorba as a soup, we had taken one by two and then we started with the starters. The starters were just mamamia, I am truely speaking it is just lip smacking and we finished it on the very first couple of seconds when it was served. Then we moved to main course that was mutton biriyani, the best part you get it in half or full plate -half with two pieces of mutton and full comes with four pieces of mutton and the best part Alooooo is also added to that lovely dish and there is a raita added to it. We took mutton rogan josh aa side dish and also took cheese garlic nun, that was so thin and had the best curst 🤗🤗🤗🤗. Thank you to the lovely chef of Kareem's that made this evening a memorable one with those delicious food. Thank you to each and every staffs of Kareem's for your great efforts and Gard work during this time! 😊😊😊😊😊<br/>I should get the Shahi tukda next time when I visit you! 🤗🤗🤗🤗

We visited Kareem's on 23rd of August, at first they have sanitize us and took the temperature . The table was sanitized beforehand , the food we only had was startes and drinks since they ran out of briyani by 3.30 PM which was so disappointing from a renowned restaurant like Kareem , barring that the kebab was really good we had chicken malai tikka kebab twice since it was lip smacking also the mutton sheek kebab was also very good but could have been a little bit softer and drinks were refreshing.
Mukut Chakraborty
I ordered khane khas biryani and it was not inexpensiye (700+) , though the qty was good but later it turned out to be a curse in disguise as the taste of the food was so bad.
Avijit Biswas
I had their 5 Cp Non Veg once... The kebabs in the combo are just insane... The gravy was also good as well as the Raita and Phirni too... But the Biryani was not that good as much I expected... Quantity is good for or a medium appetite person... But if you considered the price factor then obviously it's on the higher side... I got the delivery on time and the packaging was really satisfactory... I will visit them soon and will provide you guys with a dining review too...

The quality of the food was awesome. Pleasant ambience with great sanitization procedures induced. Courteous staff behaviour & must visit if you want to have one of the finest Biriyani in Kolkata.

Well sanitised with good food..😋 <br/>Biriyani is good.. but all kebabs are just awesome..👌🏼<br/>

This place serves an array of juicy, succulent and tasty kababs that will keep you wanting more. The butter chicken was worth trying and eating it with butter naan was a match made in heaven. The mutton biryani on the other hand was also light, aromatic and had soft pieces of mutton which were falling off the bone. Overall nice experience. Cheers!!

In this pandemic time where many restaurants have failed to maintain their quality Kareems has surprised me... The food tasted much much better.... They are serving the dishes in proper porcelain dishes and not plastic plates which was quite joyful.... They are maintaining all the sanitization process properly... Kudos to the team... No extra charges for that.... Thank god.... Now lets come back to the food.... The mutton kebab platter, Mutton Biriyani & Mutton Karachi was truly lip smacking & scrumptious.... Thanks once again for maintaining that high standard of quality and taste as well.... Will definitely come back again....

Great Quality Food, Nicely Packed. Items were very tasty. The quantity in biriyani could have been a bit more.

Takeaway:<br/><br/>Kareem's Chicken Biryani and Mutton Kebab.<br/>Hands down, best biryani I've had in Calcutta. Every biryani from every other place just doesn't compare to this anymore. It's that good!! Keep it up!

The restaurant has got an amazing ambience. The seating is very comfortable and the staff behaviour is extremely courteous and polite. They offer a wide variety in the menu and the taste of the food is really great! I'd specially recommend the Caramel custard for dessert.

Kareem's was in our wishlist for so long, at last we visited this outlet and the experience was quite great. First coming to the ambience and decor which is so gorgeous and gives you the royalty vibes. Staffs and the service were okay-ish. <br/>We ordered- <br/>• Chicken Peswari - 5/5 - RECOMENDED<br/>• Gost Dum Biriyani- Kareem's Special - 4/5<br/>• Chicken Lahori - 4.7/5<br/>• Watermelon Mojito- 4.5/5

Went to this place few days back. Extremely well decorated restaurant with cozy ambience. Staffs were very polite and very helpful. We have ordered:- <br/><br/>1. Murgh Tangdi Kulfi Kebab <br/>2. Kareem's special Gosht Biryani <br/>3. Malai Firni.<br/>All items were delicious and extremely well cooked and presented well. I'm very much satisfied with the quality and quantity. Looking forward to visit again.<br/>

I ordered non veg cp from this restaurant. The chicken Biriyani tastes good. The starter is pretty good. Chicken gravy is good too. I liked the desert part of this combo.

Must try yummy bhetki kebab n biriyani

For me, if I want to have BRIYANI to be delivered in and around Newtown or SaltLake then it has to be from Kareem's.<br/>Unlike from the authentic Calcutta biryani which is usually dry, this briyani has spicy masala all over it which adds to the flavour. The chicken pieces are juicy, fresh, well cooked and has a bit of spicy masala over it which makes it mothwatering. The rice grains are well cooked and has the briyani aroma intact. The quantity is also sufficient. The colour is also rich specially the DUM Biryani. All and All, a must have for all briyani lovers staying in New Town and Salt Lake
AHAD KHAN
It was a wonderful restaurant experience in total Awadh Mughlai cuisine.<br/>The kababs were a must try.

Felt like going there after office hours..<br/>Since I ve always heard about this place. And their lipsmacking biryani.<br/><br/>We did order for potli kebab... Biryani and shahi tukda..<br/><br/>Biryani was good.. But I had little bit more expectations.<br/>Kebab was good. And shahi tukda.. Simply heavenly... 😍

Raan biriyani is bit overrated although meat was cooked property. Interior is very good and gives authentic royal feeling.

Not mutton I doubt it very bad quality never going to order from the same ever infact I m going to leave Zomato and switch to swiggy ...disappointing <br/>

Horrible service. They took one hour to make just a biryani and a side dish. Tired of waiting we left without having our food. <br/><br/>We told that we can't wait so long. They didn't care. Never recommending it to any one. <br/><br/>

food was good but it was cold.Pathetic service . for serve water they also take 20mnt. For each and everything they take time. And most ridiculous part was when I informed that person they show very bad attitude Infront my guest..it's looks u people don't care guest.....

Their kababs are heavenly and even biriyani and the side dish's tastes are awesome<br/>Must visit for this

This restaurant is popular for biriyani and kebabs. Here the biriyani and kebabs are very different from other places. Biryani is really tasty and soft meat pieces ❤️. If u want to try best kebabs and biriyani then this is the best place u can get. My favourite here is Rann biriyani which serves almost 6 people but they they do not serve potato with biriyani which was heartbreaking for me 😢. Other Indian side dishes are awesome as well like chicken dahiwala and u must try chicken potli kebab. Food here is excellent but costly also(though worth it). ❤️❤️💯

This was one of the offbeat biriyani places we found. Moved in pretty late for dinner but we received the most heartiest welcome and highly cooperative staffs, guiding us with the proper menus available that night. The ambience is lovely. We opted for Murgh Tikka Dum Biriyani, Gosht Keema Biriyani, Murgh Korma and Caramel Custard. Each platter had been heavenly.<br/>All the best ahead.

First time I placed an order from Kareem's sector 5 Kolkata and we got dead chokroach into it. On report ing they said such a mistake do happen even in Taj too. <br/>I will never made or place an order from Kareem's in future

I went here couple of months ago,it was quite great experience for me. The ambiance and the staffs are great and the food was magnificent especially the Gosht shahi barra chaap and the taste, quality and quantity of the food we ordered were good enough according to the price.

We were five members and we ordered the humongous Rann Biriyani. Oh my my! The taste was super awesome. It was sufficient for all. The juicy succulent mutton pieces are worth mentioning and so is the perfect blend of flavours! <br/>Definitely recommended ❤️

To begin with, it was a fantastic experience both for the heart and as well as for the stomach! We went there on a Sunday evening. Be prepared to wait for sometime because there is quite a rush on weekends. But let me assure you, the wait is worth it completely!<br/>For starters, we ordered Murgh Peshawari Tikka, Murgh Potli Kebab and Gosht Nalli Barra Kebab. The quantity is sufficient for 5 people. Coming to the taste, rest assured your taste buds are in for a gala time. The Murgh Potli Kebab is like a dumpling with the stuffing as well as the crust made of chicken. The spices of the Murgh Peshawari Kebab were just the right mix and tasted heavenly. Then for main course, we ordered Gosht Dum Biryani, Murgh Tikka Masala, Murgh Lazeez Handi and Murgh Lahori and Butter Naan. The biryani and tikka masala are the regular types but the Murgh Lahori had a unique taste.<br/>Finally, we ordered firni for dessert. Overall a much recommended visit with family and friends.
Saikat
Out of all their joints in kolkata, this seems to be the best in terms of decor. They have also kept a separate place for waiting which is quite rare. Now coming on to the dishes, we ordered 2 starters, which were perfect going by the way they tasted. <br/>For main course we had biriyani, murgh istew, murgh lahori and gosht istew. <br/>Biriyani seemed a bit too spicy. Quantity wise it was perfect. All other main course dishes were wonderfully prepared. The only complaint that I have is about the time they take to prepare your order.
Subhabrata Mondal
It was an above average experience. We have ordered multiple dishes. Really liked their cheese garlic Naan. You can also try the chicken platter. We have ordered many other dishes but taste was average. Though price was heavy but you can spend a good evening with your friends or family. The service was okay but they took 45 minutes to serve the main course.

A very good one of a kind different biriyani place. As a BIRIYANI fanatic, loved the taste. It's different from Arsalan and Aminia. It's located in sector 5. We went for our friend's bday party. They allowed cake to be cut but they don't provide cakes. All items were good and sufficient. Price is on the higher side. Highly recommended.

tried biriyani and caramel custard from here. biriyani was delicious. it costs 330 rupees. caramel custard cost 160 rupees. ambience was nice and songs were playing background. hugely recommend this place by me

Kareem's. Kareem's Kolkata<br/>After getting food delivered from this place couple of times last year, last week I finally got the opportunity to visit their Sector V outlet in Kolkata.<br/>It was an office party, so for a group of 10 people, we went ahead with arguably the "most common order" - Rann Biriyani and Non Veg Kebab Platter.<br/>While the kebab platter took its natural sweet time to get served, but when that huge array of 30 pieces of different kebabs were presented, our tongues were wagging.<br/><br/>Highlight of the platter was mutton, fish and prawn kebab. Honestly I forgot their individual names but if you are group of 5 to 10, you can blindly go for this (comes in 15 or 30 pieces).<br/><br/>Next was the star of the show - Rann Biriyani. <br/>Perfectly cooked mutton, seared in spices, this upped the game of biriyani. Absolutely finger licking, I was stuffed upto the brim.<br/>However, don't expect this to be our Kolkata biriyani types and thank god for that - we do have variety of the "other" biriyani kind as well! 😉<br/><br/>Service was prompt and efficient with the staff always ready to help with a welcoming smile.<br/><br/>🐵Honuman verdict: <br/>The next opportunity you get to taste North Indian Mughlai cuisine, consider Kareem's without a second thought.<br/><br/>☑️Honuman Tip: I also brought back home their Keema biriyani for my family and again, it was a killer choice, loved by all.<br/><br/>#honumanshongothon #kareems #rannbiriyani #kebab #kolkata #foodblogger

This place had got a name for it's kebab nd biriyani though we had tried their famous kebabs. We had Murg Peshawri Kebab in starter. Then we had garlic nun and gosht karachi, the mutton was too soft and tender with a nice flavour of brown onion. Decoration of the place was good, staffs were well- behaved and their service was also good. Overall a nice place to dine in....

"Highly Recommended"<br/><br/>Kareem's is such a place where every non veg lover satisfies his tummy with flavorful dishes.<br/>All through the prices are little high but the amount they serve is enough for two people. So date night or Sunday brunch will be fun and balanced pocket-wise.<br/><br/>Coming to food😍<br/>- chicken lahori---- chicken chunks, tender and juicy..merged with flavorful tangy curry.<br/><br/>- dum Murgh biryani--- "the best"<br/>Why because it has exact right amount of flavor and species. It's not like regular oily spicy biryani.<br/><br/>- firni --- honestly can't find words.. so tasty and delightful. Served in an earthern plate, garnished with nuts.. this particular item is kareem's speciality.<br/><br/>Go visit this place and write down your review.

The ambiance is royal and service is really good here. We went for lunch : murgh tandoori, tangdi kulfi kebab, murgh dum biriyani.<br/><br/>Murgh tandoori was typical and tasty.<br/>Tangdi kulfi kebab was full of cream and cheese. It looked white and was interestingly served folded in foil papers. They served two solid chicken legs/plate.<br/>The biriyani was completely light yet delicious. It had 4 chicken pieces and 2 potatoes.

This mughlai cuisine restaurant serves foods just of awesome taste. It has two outlets in kolkata. I visited their sector 5 outlet. The ambience of this restaurant is just amazing. I tried here Chicken Potli Kebab and Mutton Nalli Barra Kebab in Starter, Mutton Dum Biriyani, Chicken Kali Mirch and Mutton Karachi in Maincourse and Malai Firni in Dessert. All the items are extremely delicious. The behaviour of the staffs of this restaurant is very polite and friendly. I will love to visit there again.

Visited this place a couple of times, this place has a combination of a perfect ambiance, staff and admirably amazing food on your plate alongside a decent portion which is quite rare to find though priced on a slightly upper side, but how does it matter if you get food which is to celebrate for<br/>Ordered Butter Chicken and tandoori roti, which was an absolute 10/10 on every aspect<br/><br/>This place is highly recommended for foodies who are on a North Indian palate

We tried Murgh Peshawari kebab which was good compared with the other items we ordered. From the main course we ordered biriyani and the staffs told us to try their today's special murgh side dish which was not at all fresh and was too bad in taste. The firni was good.

The interior captures the elegance and grandeur of a Five Star Restaurant. The staffs are professionally trained and caters to every needs without having to ask for it and the ambience was quite enthralling as well. Ordered the "Murgh Anarkali Kabab" from the starters and Gosht Dum Biryani for main course. The Kabab dressing was very unique and unlike anything I've tasted across any restaurant in India. It was coated with spice flavoured Dahi giving it a unique flavor when eaten with the spice garnished onions on the side. An explosion of flavours in my mouth. But the Biryani could've been better. Don't get me wrong, the Biryani was quite good but I could feel the absence of few flavours from it. My love for Biryani is beyond the continuum of space and time and when I taste it, I want it to distort and twist my space-time fabric but what it actually did was merely send a few gravitational wave, that's it. I definitely believe that this place has full potential and can't wait to revisit to have my mind changed.

Don’t know how this place has such a high rating. We ordered for a Zaffrani Fish which had no saffron and oodles of oil, small bhetikis were swimming in a pool of oil which they insisted was gravy. Also the rice they served came garnished with body hair, which they changed on request. Overall a below average place with no hygiene. It’s a blessing for them to be located in sector 5, or else no one would have visited them. Overall unpleasant experience.

Kareem's sector 5 outlet has an eye-catching ambience. The decor is modern cum royal. The beautifully adorned sofas offer comfortable seating arrangement. The menu is completely mughlai and each and every dish is made with elan. Try their kebab platter (15/30pieces) and their special lahori chicken. The naan are soft and the biryani is normal (nothing extravagant). The murgh-musallam comes along with a bed of pulao is really filling and delicious. Amongst all the desserts, the firni is noteworthy. Prices are little on the higher side but the quantity is sufficient for two people in case of rice items. Worth multiple visits for sure.

Biriyani is a sort of dish which can be repeated conceptually infinitely many times.Kareem helped us doing that..It was sufficient to order 1 plate of biriyani for 2 persons, though we ordered 2 different plates for 2 of us and that was really heavy alongside one plate chicken lahori.the starter, chicken kasturi kabab was good but i personally expected a bit better.Overall, it was amazing to be there, the stuffs, service everything was up to the mark.

We went for a firiend's 70th birthday and the they had set up a surprise table for us, which was delightful and unexpected. The food was excellent. I have eaten in Lucknow and Hyderabad and live near Delhi and I have to say that the morel biryani and the shrimp appetizer was better than anything I have had. I have recommended both to friends who live in Kolkata as a must eat. The service was splendid and amazingly attentive and the chocolate cake scrumptious. I would recommend Dum Pukht to anyone visiting the city or to local Bengalis.

Not potli kabab. Go for peshwari or malai or good ol' reshmi kabab. Had better Biryani than Kareem's. Phirni was the only saving grace.

I feel signature of Karrems was missing. Portion wise it's ok compared with price but taste was not upto the mark.
