Review Cafe Mezzuna - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Finally visited this place. Ambience is impressive with good music. Staffs are polite. We ordered Grey Goose pure Vodka, Jameson Irish Whisky, Cafe Mezzuna special Fish N Chips, Fiery char grilled chicken and Grilled prawn skewers with Hot anchovy garlic butter. Food items were all very tasty. Food quality and quantity was perfect. Price is decent. It was a great experience.

This cozy cafe is in South City and offers delicious continental food. We tried the mushroom tart, Goat Cheese pizza, and crispy fried chicken. Both the tart and pizza were amazing. Though I felt the quantity of the food is less as compared to the price. The service was a bit slow, but the servers were friendly with a smile on their faces.

I revisit this place for the food,presentation and service and a diverse menu. Over time this friendly cafe has started attracting families as our taste buds confinue to evolve towards the continental cuisine. Gets very crowded during festive season but you might grab a table for two if you are lucky. The billing process takes long as a result could because the staff gets under pressure. Must try the mushroom tart!

A wanna be place of visit you want to try some exquisite dish and experience a sombre and galant dinning experience. Their food is quite unique and the atmosphere too add a touch of elegance, making you want to be a regular here. A bit costly but worthwhile.

I had a great meal at Cafe Mezzuna. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and the cappuccinos served with mouth-watering cookies were detectable. The service was also excellent, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. However, the items were slightly expensive.

A beautiful place with amazing foods and warm hospitality. The service is top notch even during the peak hours. The food is awesome 10/10.

I've been coming here for several years since they started. Their food is pretty good. The stone grilled chicken is really good here. Service is great as well. This is a nice place to have some decent food.

I had Smokey chicken pizza, smoked chili Shrimp and a milk cake. Milk cake was so delicious lots of dry fruits were given. Smokey chicken pizza was also good. Only 11 inch pizza is available here. No other size r available. It is thin crust pizza. Smoked chili Shrimp: 11 pieces were there. Size of the shrimp is small but preparation was very good. Very tasty.

Cafe Mezzuna is one of the finest café situated in South City Mall. They have a very impressive customer base. Be it young or old. Everyone love their style of food. We have ordered Balsamic Goat Cheese Pizza/ Chermoula Fish/ Stone Grilled Chicken and the ever lovely glass of Sonora Sangria . Absolutely amazing. The Fish is fresh and was served in a skewer along with some ice lettuce. Not to forget the Chicken which was also very rich in flavour and moist and tender. The Pizza was the standout. Every bite was just Yum. Very impressive with the service which is very hard to find these days. The Ambiance was very peaceful. Happy Eating !

I was aiming to go to this place for so long and finally paid a visit. The place is nice and always crowded. The food was average. I guess for this place I ordered the wrong foods. The cocktail was very mild. You can hardly say that there was any alcohol. The wrap was the only thing I liked. Hope my review will be helpful. Happy eating 😊.

what I like about this place is there ambiance and lighting and their classy decor. I must say that if you spend good quality time with your partner then you can visit this place once. let's talk about food we have ordered Chicken Pasta, Thin crust Pizza, and Blueberry Chase Cake with white wine and we have paid around 3k-4k I can't remember the exact amount but more or less this. Neither I can say that this restaurant is affordable nor expensive.

My second restaurant visit in covid19 era. And my first visit here. Heard a lot about mezzuna before, never found time. Menu curtailed, staff reduced but quality of food still as good as I heard praises for. Chilly smoked shrimps to start with was as delicious as the vanilla bean pannacotta to end the meal with. A bit sad to be writing this review, Mezzuna is one of my favourite places to eat in this today. I went today, first visit to a restaurant since the pandemic. The safety measures were on point and the staff was friendly and well trained. However, the food was disappointing. The mushroom tart was barely filled the shells, the salad along with it was bleh. We ordered a new pizza on the menu, can't remember the name but it had peperoni, salami, bacon etc. It tasted good, but smelt distinctly of old cold cuts. For desert we had the dark chocolate cake with a irish baileys mousse, no quality co.plains about this one, but it was still not up to the mark to be honest.

One place which I remember going to right from my school days was Cafe Mezzuna. That time they just had one outlet at Forum on Elgin Road. They have always amazed me with their quality and quantity of food that they are serving and the price they are charging. I love the choice of dishes which are on their menu, not an extremely vast one but a perfect one with the blend of European cuisine to satisfy the taste buds of Indians. If you have been to the cafe you would have noticed that none of their dishes taste the same. Each has a unique flavour and that is what I loved! <br/>With the pandemic situation they have started this value meal platter which they are delivering to your doorstep. Again, the price, quantity and quality are all equated.<br/>I tried the following 3 platters and definitely like I already mentioned, each was different in terms of flavour and spices used.<br/><br/>✓ Grilled fish with lemon butter sauce, cajun spiced fish, grilled vegetables, tartar sauce, garlic bread & brownie - The fish was melt in the mouth and marinated so well that it was full of flavour. The grilled fish had a little bit of mustard used which enhanced the taste, it is one of my most favourite dish from Mezzuna. The cajun spiced fish fillet was just as tasty and I tried it for the first time. I love their concept of adding the garlic bread, a dip and a brownie. The brownie was chocolaty and sort of satisfied my craving for the chocolate fondant they make.<br/>✓ Asian exotic firicassee with lemon chilli rice, jalapeno cheese balls, tomato salsa, garlic bread & brownie - This was the first time I had a veg main, generally the veg is restricted to pasta, pizza, salad & the mushroom cups, which is mind-blowing and my all time favourite. The firicassee is a coconut milk based gravy with asian spices. It was delicious and I loved the consistency of the gravy and the blend of the coconut milk. The jalapeno poppers were very cheesy, a good starter complimented with the tomato salsa.<br/>✓ Thyme garlic chicken with herbed pilaf, harissa spiced chicken, parsley hummus, garlic bread & brownie - The thyme garlic chicken is a fusion of a continental & chinese spices. The reason why I say so is because the gravy is very oriental, however the spices used are more continental. It is perfect to satiate your palate along with the herbed pilaf. The harissa chicken was soft and juicy. Just relished the full platter.<br/><br/>All sanitization and hygiene protocols set out by the government is being maintained. If you notice the pictures, each platter has the temperatures recorded of the staff handling the food. The cost for these platters are kept at ₹395+taxes, which is very reasonable. If you have bulk orders they can do direct delivery as well. It's not an exaggeration but the quantity is very good and you will be stuffed eating that one full platter. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner.<br/>Thank you Mr. Ankur Mandal for sending the bag of deliciousness home. Speciality Restaurants Limited always lives upto your standards.

First of all the staff made us wait for a long time before they offered for water. They weren’t doing anything but standing in the corner. Anyway coming to the food, we ordered Chicken soup in roasted garlic or roasted garlic chicken soup , don’t remember the name exactly, it was not only tasteless but also chicken less. Just a bowl of hot water and it’s tasted YUCK. 225 for a bowl of fcking tasteless hot water. <br/>Then we ordered chicken pot roast which was quite tasty. And I will never visit this restaurant ever in my life. Thank you!

I visited this place with my husband for late lunch and saw their special lunch offer wherein they serve 4 course meal for ₹425+ but the portions are enough for only one person. So we opted for this along with one extra mains dish as this gives a variety which isn't possible when there are just two people.<br/> Soup- we were served potato cream soup and it was rich, creamy and delicious. Absolutely loved it ! <br/>Salad- we opted for Caesar salad, which was decent.<br/>Mains- ordered grilled fish and baked vegetables. Both the dishes were really good. The fish was frozen so not very soft but overall it was decent. I loved the baked vegetables- it was right amount of cheesy with full burst of flavours of the herbs. <br/><br/>Dessert- slice of choco fudge cake which was mouth watering ! Couldn't take a picture as we gobbled it up real quick. <br/><br/>Overall I would rate food as 4/5 .<br/><br/>Service is really good , they have taken all precautions with servers wearing gloves , mask and face shield . The person who was serving us gave us some good suggestions as well. <br/>It is bit pricey but food and service compensates for it. <br/>

Cafe mezzuna is one of my favourite places to eat at beacuse you know that the food that you are probably going to order is going to be really good and plus they have a really cool Mediterranean vibe.<br/><br/>This house salad consists of smoked chicken, sundried tomatoes, parmesan and honey mustard dressing. Even though they the didnt skimp on the cheese and the dressing the salad was really light and fresh and it was loaded with chicken. You get the sweetness from that honey mustard dressing but it is not overly sweet and the chicken is grilled to perfection. It is the perfect way to start a meal.<br/><br/>Grilled prawn skewers in hot anchovy garlic butter<br/>Another great one from the place called cafe mezzuna. This place just keeps on satisfying me with really good dishes. The prawns were cooked to perfection and had a lovely char to it. I was a little bit apprehensive about the anchovy but it made that sauce even better. I could simply bottle that whole thing up.<br/>Spaghetti with pulled lamb and tomato oregano sauce. The lamb was soft and simply melts in your mouth and the pasta was cooked al dente. Tomato oregano sauce tend to be really sour but this one was just perfect and I had to stop myself from finishing it all. <br/>Cafe mezzuna's service is on point in fact all speciality restaurants provide impeccable service.

Loved the ambience and their courteous staffs. They surely suggested us the best cause we actually loved every item. Especially their twin chicken pizza and the chocolate cheese cake. Next time when you visit, please do take this pizza. It's one of the best flat bread pizza's!

Cafe mezzuna serves their Fantastic Four menu which has a soup, a salad, a main and a dessert for rs 425+ taxes. <br/><br/>I went for it recently. <br/>The ambience here was really pretty. I loved the whole vibe of the place.<br/>Service was great too with friendly staff. <br/><br/>Now about the food, <br/><br/>For soup, we had cream of chicken and broccoli soup. It was really amazing. The buttery taste was really good. The chicken chunks though we're very less in quantity. <br/><br/>For the Salad, I opted for Chicken and vegetable salad in a balsamic dressing. I am completely in love with this salad. It was amazing. <br/><br/>For the main, I had chicken stroganoff with herbed rice. It was good too. The flavours were clean and the quantity was satisfactory. <br/><br/>Finally, for dessert had a coffee cheesecake and OMG!! I loved it so much. The nutty base complimented the coffee flavor so well. <br/><br/>Overall, I think it is quite a good offer. Good for a one time try. ❤

Loved the visit! Celebrated my son's birthday and couldn't have asked for a more friendly place. Every dish we offered were freshly made and tasted great. The staff were friendly and hospitable. They were prompt in arranging a cake for my son when they learned that its his birthday. Great work guys!

Cafe Mezzuna is a lovely place with delicious food and a fine ambiance. The food is truly good, as everything we ordered was made to perfection. For starters, we'd tried the grilled Cajun basa fillet and the artichoke batata meshwai. The basa was tender and very flavourful, and the artichoke meshwai is a potato dish with Mediterranean stuffing. It was amazing and the medley of flavours quote unique. <br/>Coming to the main course, we went for the Mezzuna special fish and chips, the grilled chicken slow dried tomato and pesto pasta, and the pan fried fish with sauteed veggies on the side. The fish and chips were alright, not bad, but not that special so to say. But the pasta was a delight, with the pesto and sun dried tomato really hitting the right notes. Slivers of almonds on top also added an extra crunch. Coming to the pan fried fish with veggies, this is a classic dish, comforting and soothing to the palate. Overall liked it a lot. <br/>All in all, was very happy with the food.

Its a happy place to be. The food is amazing, the cocktails are amazing, the chicken salad is to die for, the pizza is fresh out of the oven topped with fresh herbs and last but not the least the crack on that crème brûleé.... what better way to end your day?

I have tried pesto sauce in a lot of places where they serve continental cuisine but always found something missing. Cafe Mezzuna has just perfected the sauce. I tried their pasta in pesto Sauce and chicken stroganoff. My taste buds were delighted with such a wonderful experience. The dining ambience was awesome and is a must-visit restaurant in south city mall.

Tried the buffet...the food was very dry.the rice and pasta was hard and dried.had d dessert..the brownie and cake was so dry and stale.

The chicken was cooked to perfection and was simply delicious.. The lamb chops should have been a bit more tender, don't you just want the meat to fall off the bone.. Yeah it missed that part.. <br/><br/>Overall, a good dining experience and it's worth a try..

Cafe Mezzuna serves you some of the best continental cuisine in the city! The guava punch , lined with salt, is an unique drink to taste and feel but you can get something equally tasty to sink your teeth into. Choose from among different thin-crust pizzas, burgers, noodles and cutlets- though a bit pricy, it makes up for the same in quality.

Ambiance in the South City Mall outlet is pretty good. But the service time is high and it take 20-25 mins for your food to arrive.<br/><br/>Also the pizza was baked to perfection but tasted ordinary.<br/><br/>White sauce pasta was really creamy and cheesy. Loved it.

Went there to celebrate my bday... Food was highly priced hence couldn't enjoy a hearty meal..have to stick to salads and appetizers..n for my vegeterian friends there were not much indian items..we had an offer of 2:1 on beer and through gold memebership we got a one food item free. Only red sauce pasta was what we liked..anything else was just to fill our stomach and not taste.

After a long wait,got to visit this place to try out their lunch buffet.Went there with 2 friends,with the nearbuy offer for weekend lunch at 835 pp.Firstly,very nice ambiance & decor. Sophiticated looks,with posh interior decor.<br/><br/>Staffs were very nice & well mannered,& helping you out in every way possible.Special mention to Mr Sourav Kundu. A must try item from their menu has gotta be the prawn thermidor for me. Perfectly cheesy, serves with a side of sauted veggies on a bed of cheesey potato is sure to give you some solid foodgasm

Had lunch on my birthday. Good place ambiance was nice. Quantity is much more than expected. Overall good. Taste was yummy and we experience different type of food.

Loved the ambience,food was great.We ordered pesto pasta, pepperoni pizza,caramel choco mocha cake and I must say every food item was great to taste.Loved savouring on them and in drinks we had cocktails namely Conventional mojito,watermelon n basil mojito, lychee and kaffir lime mojito.We felt the drinks were little bit bland,less flavourful and alcohol content very poor.Clearly they need to raise the bar on this aspect.Otherwise everything was great

The place is located as South city mall. It is small in size as compared to the forum mall outlet. The price of alcohol is more or less ok but the price of food is definitely on the higher size . 6 piece wings worth 395 is not a deal everybody would love. The service was definitely prompt and the waiters were very professional. Worth visiting 😎

After having a lovely experience at their Forum counterpart, I was pretty hopeful for another delightful memory at South City. But, my expectations were cut short by reality.<br/><br/>We ordered a Smoked Chicken, Balsamic Glazed Onion, Goat Cheese, Argula Pizza to start with. As pizza takes some time to prepare, we decided to visit the washroom to freshen up. To my disbelief, when we returned the pizza was sitting there on my table. I could make it from the cheese that it was out of the oven for quite some time. Fun fact is I was gone for only 10 mins.<br/><br/>I do not know happened there. The pizza was barely warm. The cheese had almost solidified. This coldness of the pizza and some obvious deception by the restaurant destroyed my pizza experience. The base was very crispy but other than that everything tasted bland.<br/><br/>We then ordered a Virjin Mojito and a Cold Coffee. The Virjin Mojito was way too sour for my liking. But the cold coffee stole my heart. It is the best Cold Coffee I ever had.<br/><br/>Next having spotted Bacon Wrapped Prawns listed on the board as special dishes of the day, we went for that. That took quite some time to arrive. The name is quite misleading as 7 pieces of "shrimps" were wrapped in bacon. We were made aware of that before placing the order. But, what filled our evening with woe were the undercooked bacons. It was way too pinkish as you can make out from the accompanying photos. Also, we realised it wasn't freshly prepared but merely microwaved.<br/><br/>With the outbreak of the deadly Corona virus, consuming undercooked meat is suicide.<br/><br/>Also, to all gold members- Anything listed on the board will be exempted from gold privileges as they are not available on the menu.<br/><br/>For desserts, we decided to have the Philadelphia Cheesecake with Berry Compote. We especially loved the biscuit layer. Also liked the ample use of blueberries.<br/><br/>We had Panna Cotta on our mind too but unfortunately didn't have room for any.

One of the place where the overall experience is so much worth it. Went for a buffet lunch on a saturday. Lucky to have found a table without waiting. If you do not want to wait, try getting in by 1pm. Gets filled fast. The ambience is pretty good, soft music, nice decor, courteous staff and prompt service. Pizza is also quite good. Fairly good spread of buffet with a mix of veg and non veg items.Desserts are also very nice. Definitely a place you would want to revisit. Cafe Mezzuna, just include a drink(non alcoholic) in your buffet. That would make it a complete one. High five 🙌 for your service!

Below average. Never going back again. They charge gst as well as service charge (goodness!) The ambience is chaotic and there is no privacy. Service people need lots of training. First they need to learn to respond when a customer asks for them and not to leave the customer waiting cluelessly. Worst was the fish dish, it was smelly and disgusting.

We chose this restaurant for our start of the new year. We had earlier tried twice in their Forum outlet and chose to try their South City Mall outlet. We reached at 2 pm and had to wait for half an hour before getting a table. And it was rather noisy to the extent that we requested for a side table. We ordered our main course and came to know it would take about 15 min, do requested for soup as starter - corn coriander & chicken & leek soups which were soups of the day. The soup was excellent and rather increased our hunger. And it finally arrived - grilled chicken penne pasta for my son, pan fried fish with sauted vegetables for my spouse & pan seared whole bhetki for myself. Each of the items were very well cooked or grilled with the right proportion of spices, not to mention mouth watering taste. This was followed by dessert round - tiramisu, Philadelphia cheesecake & chocolate fudge cake. These were equally great. And when we requested for the bill, to our surprise they had offered cake & pastry as complimentary which we requested to pack for us as we were really full.<br/>It was the best possible start of 2020. In fact my spouse suggested we should not try any other option for our next lunch. A must try, I should recommend. Price may be slightly on the higher side but it's worth it any time. Sincerely hope they maintain their high standards.

I went with my friends. Loved the pasta but the risotto was not that good. Great ambience and the complementary plum cake was the best part.

It is on the second floor of South city mall . Ambience is nice. Staffs are cordial. We took today stone grilled chicken with sauted vegetables, pulled lamb tomato oregano sauce and tiramisu. Taste is delicious.

A bit overrated i would say, Food were ok, Crumb fried chicken/prawns tasted delicious, didnt like Pizza items much.<br/>Many drinks were not available, LIIT of different varities were there but lacked quality & real taste. Prices of items were ok or might say slightly higher.<br/>Ambience was really good but lacked enough space compared to the customers.<br/>Overall nice place to have a dine-in with your family.

This is my second time visit to this lovely place located in South City mall. This time I went with my husband for his birthday celebration. The food and ambience compelled me to write a review this time. <br/>I loved their concept of notepad menu,which elaborate the description of each items with appealing pictures. <br/>So we ordered Pizza (Smoked Chicken, Balsamic glazed onion, goat cheese, arugula) for starter, as it my BAE’s favourite . It’s a thin crust Pizza, I loved its smokey flavour and the melting cheese effect, though I’m not one the Pizza lover, but I really loved this one. In Mains we ordered Stone Grilled Chicken & Moroccan Lamb Chop, I liked both the dishes as a whole , but I didn’t liked the rice which came with the Lamb Chops. Last but the least which I need to mention is their Cafe Mezzuna Mustard Sauce, it’s just too good, a dash of it in each bite makes everything yummy. <br/>Will definitely love to visit many time..

Visited this place few days back. Located at the South city mall beside Starmark. Their South city outlet is very much spacious and well decorated.<br/>We've ordered,<br/><br/>• Chicken wrap<br/>• Corona<br/>• Budweiser<br/><br/>We had basically a different plan so decided to keep things light. Hope to hop some other time to try out different dishes.

In a single word the place is awesome. First comes the ambience, it just so so good. The staff was very very polite and even they were suggesting us very nice drinks and food.<br/>Now coming to the food. Lamb chops and cheese cakes are something that I have already tasted in the forum Mezuna. But then again the quality and the taste is altogether at a different level here. Rest of the items ordered were also very good but these were taste apart.<br/>By the way one thing I didn’t like, it was their 7th Anniversary, though they gave us complimentary desert but they never gave us and even didn’t ask us that will we be interested in taking the sparkling wine or not. That is something else I never asked for it but then again I never asked for the desert also. But yeah I didn’t like the last part.

Went for the weekend lunch buffet.Price (830 inclusive of taxes) is reasonable. Also took a mocktail Mango Vango which was not upto the mark.Starters were average except the fried fish .Salad section is quite widespread and tastes good. Main course and dessert are on average side. The worst thing here is service .We got no complementary drinks which were offered to everyone else around but we never recieved it.The waiters were also ignorant about it.Overall food is good but service is not.

I have visited this place umpteen number of times and yet i never get bored of this place. I'm addicted to this place.Every time i visit this place i try something new from their versatile menu and they never fail to amaze with their creation.They serve one of the best cocktail in town. One can try out mashed potato,harissa grilled chicken(must try),beer battered fish,rosmary potato as finger food. Coming to the main course,Never forget to try their super thin crust pizza. They taste amaaaaazing.😍😍👌.coming to the dessert Chocolate fondant is heaven just give it a try without a second thought.<br/>P.S-Overall this place is the perfect place to spend an amazing evening with family friends or loved ones.
