Review Abcos Food Plaza - Kolkata (Calcutta)

The food is good. They serve decent options and their continental & Chinese options are better than Indian dishes. We didn't like the Chicken Reshmi kabab. It was dry and lacked in flavour. Having said that we enjoyed the mixed grill and Mexican chicken sizzlers.

Tried a few of their well known items like- roasted chilli mutton, golden fried prawns, two mocktails ( cindrella and strawberry cooler), chicken Hara daniya kebab, mutton makhni, butter naan. Price is affordable according to quality and quantity, all cousins you can find here, alcohol also available. Calm and peaceful ambiance. After all love this place.

This place is located right behind Colonia Asia Hospital ( GB block Saltlake Kolkata) and is easily located in Google Map. Please make your table booking before your visit in that way the restaurant people will keep you table reserved. We ate at The Pen & Ink. It had nice ambience and we were given a separate cubicle (please check the picture for details). We ordered food and drinks which were really good. Overall ,on my First Visit I will give full points coz I liked everything,staring from food ,sitting arrangement, service and ambience. 😊👌 PS - This place has a proper elevator ,hence should'nt be any issue if you plan to bring an elderly member.

Brilliant ambiance and delicious food. I suggest the fish and chips. Update: we weren't allowed to stay more than the closing time even though we entered before the closing time. I don't know if that's normal.

This restaurant is just behind Columbia Asia Hospital in Salt lake. Food is nice. I had their signature dishes like South Indian mutton biryani with tamarind flavour, fruit pizza etc earlier. Today I tried a couple of starters like Murgh badami kabab and fish fingers. The food was very tasty. Ambiance and decor was okay.

Abcos is the oldest restaurant in salt lake City. I have been coming here since 2008. I have no idea how many times I have visited here. The ambience is really good. Rooftop seating arrangement is available here. It's a good place to hangout with friends and family. Food quality is damn awesome. They provide corporate discount.

Close to the Columbia Asia hospital - great place to loosen out Met two of my school friends here again after nearly three years! We did not have much. Chicken fry. Bloody Mary Cocktail, and vodka. Had a good time together with plenty of onion slices and peanuts, and grams. The service at the hangout was really excellent.

We have benn there many times as it is near my place and very convenient !! Quality and quantity of food is undoubtedly superb! But last month we tried their bengali food (home delivery). The quality of fish were top notch!! Very tasty and healthy. All of our 20 guests stamped a thumbs up for each and every item they tasted!! Will order again for sure!!❤️

I ordered 2 Chinese items ( Egg fried rice & Shanghai chicken) along with 2 Indian items (Masala kulcha & Tawa chicken) - all are good. Stewards are good & ambience was nice.

Had been there many times before but now the food quality has been degraded. On My last day visit had ordered Continental and it was the most inferior food i ever had. The Order was for BAR B Q chicken & it was stale. Smelled rotten fish from the platter, even after complaint and returning the same, they again served me the same food. Worst experience and would advice not to waste your money and moods over there.

ABCOS has become my "must eat" place when in Kolkata...great food,great value for money,lovely ambience and a whole lot of variety under one roof plus a personal connect :)...still have to tick off the Elaichi Rann from my "must eat" list..

People are so bad and the food delivery was, oh my good. I ordered simple Chinese food and it was delivered after 45-50 mins. So disgusting!!!!

We went for Team Lunch from office. The food was good however nothing fancy for the amount we paid. But Elaichi Rann and Baked Alaska was heavenly. 4* only for these 2 dishes else I'd have given 3*

One of the most worst overpriced restaurnt in Salt Lake. They cant even make a simple reshmi kabab. The kabab completely soaked in rotten lemon juice dont know for how many days. The kabab was totally sour due to rotten lemon. Very bad experience.

This place is beside the Carnival Cinemas and Big Bazaar sector 3. So every time I and my roommate go for movies,we drop by. Few times I had come with my parents and few times in office parties. The place was buzzing being 25th december, but we did not have wait more than 5 mins.<br/><br/>The menu is pretty elaborate with Indian,Chinese, Continental and Bengali cuisine. We started with Chicken wanton soup and ordered Prawn with 5 spices for the starter. The prawn was really tasty with nice blend of spices, garlic and chili.<br/><br/>Then we went on to Continental for the main course. We ordered Grilled fish, Chicken Mexican Shashlik and Mixed grill. All the dishes came with either bread roll or rice as per one's choice. Be careful if you are ordering Grilled fish since it took almost 55mins to serve it. However taste was good and the portion was enough for one person. However both in case of the Shashlik and Mixed grill, the grilled chicken pieces were quite hard and dry and not at all juicy. Even the spices and sauces being good, but the chicken pieces somehow made the dish bad.<br/>I think it's better to stick to Chinese as they were bang on about them. Also, need to taste the Indian, mainly the Elaichi raan.

I have been visiting this restaurant in Salt Lake for more than 12 years now and I must agree that it is one of the best in Salt Lake, in terms of food quality. Some of the speciality dishes are Fish and Chips (tastes heavenly), Fish Meuniere (another delight), Elaichi Raan (easily shared by 4-5 people),Bhoona keema gosht and so on. Have also tried their Chicken Stroganoff, Chicken Steak and other Indian dishes. Overall, value for money

Celebrated one of the nights during Durga Puja at ABCOS with friends and found the ambiance perfect for family time spending. It's a family bar cum restaurant hence my experience was upto the mark and loved the foods served by team. Cost I expected is bit high apart from that great experience. Would love to visit again.

The food was awesome!! A special chinese starter of chicken leg pieces they served was mind-blowing. It will make you fall in love with the place, instantly. You can always depend on their elaichi raan as the main course. Tender pieces of mutton served with rice can attract hardcore biriyani lovers. Abcos food plaza is such a place that made me drool over mutton all over again. Their mutton elaichi run was just so good and tasty that anybody would fall in love with it. If mind says Elaichi Rann, there is no way that you could think about any other place than Abcos.<br/><br/>Apart from Elaichi Rann, Fish and Chips is one of the underrated dish which will steal the show for you.<br/><br/>Chicken Tandoori is Mouth watering and cant stop eating One.<br/><br/>But But But, I think the mocktails were not as on the top like the other dishes.<br/><br/>This Restro is easy to locate,<br/>Atmosphere is Goos.

This is the second time for me at Abcos Food Plaza. This time we ate at the Kipling Klub(1st Floor) which is quite a sober and plain version of the more happening 2nd Floor Bar cum restaurant. Coming to the food, it's good. The best deal is the Crispy Chilli Baby corn with the nicest balance of taste and texture. The Fish and chips satisfied us too. The Elaichi Raan was no doubt different from most other biriyani/ Pulao dishes found in other restaurants. The rice and the veggies were quite good to taste and the mutton melted in the mouth. But the mutton could definitely have been tastier. Hope the restaurant takes this suggestion.

This is one of the oldest restaurants and bar in Bidhannagar and they're still upholding their name for quality and class. This is a perfect and dignified place to take your family or lover out. The interior of this place is really beautiful and if you like old vintage style decorations then you will surely like this place.but when it comes to food it is just ok in that department.ordered konjee crispy chicken,mutton hari mirch keema do piyaja,kashmiri naan and chocolate brownie.kashmiri naan was good and the starter and main was ok but the biggest disappointment was the dessert.did not expect to have a britannia chocolate cake topped with two scoops of vanilla icecream in the name of 'choc brownie' at rs.250!Brownie should atleast be fudgy or moist if not hot. Will never order any dessert for sure but can visit this restaurant for some continental dishes.

The murg handi biryani was, just mind blowing. I generally go to oudh 1590 for biryani, but this restaurant just changed my destination. Even there was a great queue just for the biryani parcel

Worst quality food and highly priced drinks. Once upon a time, food used to be good. It used to be a popular restaurant in Salt Lake. However, food has deteriorated both in quality, quantity and taste over the past few years. In spite of that, we have visited the place for food and drinks hoping that the standards would improve. But, alas. Even simple starters are unpalatable. The price of drinks is too high for a restaurant of this stature. The restaurant has indoor seating as well as a lovely rooftop terrace. But when the food sucks the ambience hardly matters. Have stopped visiting altogether.

Been there thrice. Very recently last Monday visited for dinner. Table was booked in daytime. The food that got served was not of very impressive taste. Mutton biryani was plain white rice with some mutton and gravy. Kung Pao chicken and a fish item in starter were so-so. Don't feel like visiting again.

A great place to have their authentic dish that is the ELAICHI RAAN. The most succulent and tender pieces of mutton chopped into pieces and served on the plate with thier in house made special curry. And they also do have an amazing range of lassi's and shakes. And their kebabs are also very tasty. A perfect and royal way to celebrate your afternoon.

If you want to have good Tibetan Food, this place will be in your list. Located behind saltlake stadium, it offers free pickup and drop if you happen to be in saltlake. With Mock tails, Cocktails, Hard drinks you can have your taste buds relishing Kungfu Chicken, Golden Dragon Prawn etc.

Can’t begin to describe the horrible experience I’ve had while lunching at this place. So let’s start with the food we ordered (schezwan rice, chill panner, and chilli baby corn) had no taste, was unnecessarily oily and had a really bad after taste. <br/>Then, to make matters worse, there was a strand of HAIR we found in one of the food bowls, when we addressed the matter, they took about 15 mins to come to our table. Once he did come, he’s explaining me how it’s not their fault and started behaving really rudely. They weren’t apologetic about it and you could see that. Neither did they apologise nor compensate for the mistake made from their end. <br/>Poor service. Poor quality of food. Poor conduct. Never visiting this place ever again.

One of our family favorite food hub on occasions which we visited countless times by now.<br/><br/>We really love it's ambience, the neatness and the taste of food. The food taste is amazingly consistent and just the right flavors to soothe the taste bud. It's in fact one of favorite of my 5 year old girl.She loves the Reshmi kebabs with naans there. For us grown ups, we love the mutton biriyyani, Reshmi kebabs, Soups, Cripsy Babycorn. The veg and paneer starters and curries are equally tasty. One more item that I like in this restaurant is the Chicken Choupsey.

This is one of the oldest bar cum restaurant in saltlake behind Columbia Asia and beside carnival cinemas.They have always maintained their quality and visiting after 7 years I found the same.We took a draught pitcher beer.In food we ordered dry chilly chicken and fish and chips.Both the food were amazing.Well done Abcos.Keep it up.Definately a try guys.

We have been over there about few months ago on a occasion. Ordered various veg and non-veg items along with naan and rice items. Tasted good and the ambience is also quite well.

This was my second visit to Abcos. I had visited their restaurant for lunch and needless to say, the taste of the food did not degrade much according to me. The ambience was good, the interior was well decorated and the choice of music was also quite good.<br/><br/>Coming to their food, I had ordered one Mocktail which was a punch of coconut and pineapple juice which they specially made for me. Though I don't prefer having coconut in mocktails, they told me to try it once. Well, it did taste quite well. For the starters, I had Murgh Sashlik Kebab, which tasted beautiful. Loved it.<br/>The most important thing I would like to mention is about their main course which I had ordered. The Elaichi Raan. I've heard the name of this restaurant a lot, due to this famous dish. The Elaichi Raan is basically a dish consisting of Sautéed vegetables, Biriyani Rice and the Raan of the Mutton or the whole leg, the curry of the mutton separately and salads. It is one of their unique dishes I've come across till date, which does surpass the normal biriyani which we get in Kolkata. The dish is quite heavy and is served in great quantity which can be easily shared among 3 people. The taste of the dish, is truly amazing.<br/><br/>Overall, my experience was great and would love to visit them again. 😁

We had worst dinner of my life.We went to rooftop of Abcos.We ordered Elaichi Raan,meat was half cooked .We complained about this and there was no reaction from Waiter.Meat did not tasted like mutton.Fish finger was over priced.Service was too slow and staffs seemed to be new.They made us wait for plates and glass after food arrived.<br/><br/>We went for dinner after reading so many good reviews but we were highly disappointed.<br/>

This is the first place where I started eating Mutton. The elaichi Raan is the must have of the place. The sitting is a little congested but they provide a good service of pickup and drop from office.

We were looking for a bite and beers before heading for the match at the stadium. Nice cosy place.<br/><br/>Prompt service, quite prifessional. Ordered a couple of beers and was a bit surprised to see the complimentary accompaniment of wet grams and dal, this is a refreshing change. The Naan was fluffy and a bore a hint of sweetness. Liked it. The Roasted Chilly Lamb was tender, juicy and very tasty. Liked it a lot. Overall a good experience.

Elachi Raan is an absolute stunner and should is a must-try for all visiting this place. There are other fav items too starting from bengali dished to sizzlers. The staff is good and this place also serves a roof top arrangement which enriches the experience of having great food.

We went to Kipling's club during the pujas..had to wait for a while cz of the crowd.. however the place had a good ambience with extremely good quality food..the price might be a bit more though not much..but it's worth it..both Chinese and Indian are extremely good here...

Have visited the place several times earlier but now the quality has degraded.Starters were okay and noodle was fine as well,however the sliced fish they served was stale and was smelling.Couldn't have the dish after a few bites.They didn't even bother to ask whether to change the dish or deduct the amount from the bill.

Ground Floor name being Oh Calcutta, 1st Floor - Kipling’s Klub, 2nd Flor - The Pen and Ink, 3rd Floor- Dalhousie Celebrations. All serve same Menu.. What we came to know that for pax max 02 -04 they serve in 1st and 2nd Floor and for pax 05 and above they prefer seating 3rd and 4th floor.<br/><br/>Decor & Ambience- Felt a little shabby and backdated decor inside the restaurants.. Well seating comfortably OK and light music is good.. u find reception as we entered..<br/><br/>Food and Staff- They serve Indian, Chinese, Bengali, Continental, Mocktails, Cocktails, Hard drinks, tea coffes.. Food ok in taste not much to give accolades.. we tried one fish starter which was ok.. and Indian cuisine which again was ok and not so good.. we did find the chicken is stale and giving rotten smell which we complained and they took the matter just as easy that it happens and even the floor manger did not offer to change and serve, rather asked if we would like to order other dish.. that was so uneasy.. Staff behaviour is ok but seems they were very busy and in hurry, despite resturant not even full in a Sunday evening<br/><br/>Cost- Too Costly with such quality!!! All drinks just double or more than double the prices.. food is also very overpriced.. Quantity of each dish however enough for sharing of Two pax..Avg cost with GST approx 800-1000 per pax with minimal booze..<br/><br/>Not recommended !!!

Location: Sector 3, along the lane of big bazar and behind AMRI<br/>Ambience: There are 4 restaurants in this plaza. We went to the one of first floor called The ink and paper. The ambience is really nice here. Lighting is unique, so is sitting. It's elegant, upclass. Modern.<br/>We decided on mocktails and continental from the Pujo menu.<br/>Food: Hawain salad, cheese cherry skewers,whole bbq chicken and a steak.<br/>The salad was great, tasty and high protein. The skewers to prevent the cheese from melting came with ice cover. The bbq chicken came with french fries, veggies, the sauce and rice.The steak with bread butter.<br/>The items were good, sufficient but taste can be modulated at the price.<br/>The mocktails ordered were pina colada, virgin mary and abcos special.<br/>All were good of taste , specially the special one.<br/>

Crispy chilli baby corn was the only wow factor of the entire lunch.<br/>Even though we had gone 4 people and ordered 4 distinctly different dishes, two pairs of dishes had similar gravy and the tastes hardly differed. The steaks were hard to cut and wasn't enjoyable. The white gravy one tasted like chicken stroganoff even though we didn't order any. Sorry but not sorry, I don't think I am going to visit again to try any items. If you are paying a lot for the food and at the end, you aren't satisfied, that is disappointing.

Abcos is a Chinese and North Indian bar cum restaurant located in salt lake. This is probably one of the first of its kind in this area, Coz as a child Chinese was synonymous to Abcos. The food and the ambiance is great and the prices are a bit on the steeper side. We went there on panchami night and the items we ordered were:<br/>1)Konjee crispy chicken<br/>2)Pan fried fish<br/>3)Hot and sour soup<br/>4)manchow soup<br/>5)Mixed meinfoon noodles<br/>6) chicken in oyster sauce.<br/>All the items were great in taste. Each said dish consisted of 8 pieces so quantity was enough. Special mention to Konjee crispy chicken which was a delight to the taste buds. Also the best part was the quality of the food wasn't degraded because of the festivities.<br/>Also they have now started serving draught beer too. Cheers!<br/>

This is one of the best roof top in salt lake area. It is a five storied building, located beside carnival cinemas. Yesterday, we went to abcos to grab a beer after watching movie. It is divided into 4 parts, we went to Dalhousie (the roof top). Ordered for beer, chicken lollipop and french fries. The food was good but food service was delayed, they took 30mins to make chicken lollipop. The ambiance and decor were very appealing and yes, hospitality was appreciable. Will be going soon to taste some more cuisines.

This place is situated just behind the Carnival cinemas, Salt Lake. There are four different restaurants on four floors like Kipling's Klub, O Calcutta!, and two more are there. We got ourselves settled at O Calcutta! Since we visited the place early evening so it was not crowded at all. We ordered one wanton chicken soup, one white sauce keema spaghetti, and one mix mehfoon. Food was really good, both in quality and quantity. Overall it was a good experience!

They cheat customers.We went to the 3 friends and took some drinks and food when we are looking for bill they gave us bills with increased by showing more drinks. And when we ware asking about this they are showing some wrong information and farther we ware looking for CCTV footage they told us that particular position have no CCTV.

Place serves fried fish tossed in lemon butter sauce and calls it grilled fish...and sells it for 605 inr + gst.<br/><br/>To top it..the f&b personell argues and tries to cover it up sayin its grilled fish and they cannot help me with the same.<br/><br/>I suggest the management to visit places that serves good grilled fish in calcutta for a better picture.<br/><br/>God bless them and their culinary skills. Great food and hospitality. A little low on the ambience because it was pretty dark in the afternoon.<br/>1) Crispy Chilli Baby Corn - very crunchy and tasty, this surprised us as many places do not serve such crisp baby corns.<br/>2) Veg AuGratin - this was very creamy and cheesy, the best one i had after some famous restaurant in Park Street.<br/>3) Chicken Badami kebab - the chicken was a bit stiff, and the taste was not as much exquisite<br/>4) Crispy Prawns - very spicy and crisp prawns<br/>5) Masala Kulcha - very soft and not very oily<br/>6) Chicken chatpatta masala - almost a mix of bharta and kadai chicken, very delicious<br/>7) Muttar Mushroom masala - again very full of flavours, even if its veg<br/>The Last but not the least, the famous 'Elaichi Raan' - It was like an explosion of all flavours in the mouth at once. The mutton was too soft, the gravy was full of  spice yet not very heavy, not at all oily, the pulao had the essence of biryani, all on all an awesome experience. This is a must try dish, everyone!

This place is located at just behind Columbia asia hospital in salt lake.<br/><br/>Now coming to the food section.We ordered Rashmi kebab, chicken badami kebab, pan fried vetki fish as starter along with beer and sweet lime soda. Yes alcohol is available in this restaurant.<br/>We also had their signature dish elaichi raan in the main course. It can be assured that one plate of elaichi raan would be sufficient for 4 people.<br/><br/>I loved the pan fried vetki , chicken badami kebab,and the elaichi raan among all of these ordered foods. We also got a 10% corporate discounts in there. So if you are planning for a office party, then this restaurant can be your safe destination for sure.

Very bad experience eating chinese, i feel not well after eating. Chicken lolipop, mixed fried rice, chicken sweet and sour - no taste in any food. Ambience good. For eating it's never recommendable.

This is a very common and an almost regular place for me for the last 10-11 years. Mostly I have been to this place with my close friends to have beer or whiskey along with fish fingers or chicken drumstick.<br/>I have been to this place with my family as well. One must try out their mutton biriyani and mutton elaichi raan. Their mutton biriyani is one of the tastiest biriyani in town. It has small chunks of boneless mutton served with rice,aloo and egg.<br/>In elaichi raan they serve an entire raan along with vegetables and small portion of rice. This is also equally good.<br/>Its a very good place to dine out with courteous staff and peaceful ambience.

We used to keep coming here quite often when my house was in Sector 3. Very near to Big Bazaar. I liked the North Indian cuisine and the hara bhara kebabs.

The ambience was good. I went on the rooftop which was the dalhousic. Food was good. We had ordered sizzler, the quantity was good enough for 2people. Service was good but it would have been better if it was a bit faster. Overall experience wasnot bad.

Had the famous Elaichi raan & chicken tai mai takri<br/><br/>Chicken Tai Mai Takri - 10 piece of spicy boneless chicken cooked with lemon grass coriander leaves and thai spices it was tasted very unusual and too good, you can actually feel the tangy lemon flavour and spices. Loved it! Highly recommended<br/><br/>Elaichi Rann - the most famous dish of this place. A royal preparation with 700grams of soft well cooked succulent mutton pieces(boneless) & biriyani rice & veggies cooked in indian masala along with spicy thick mutton gravy. Huge quantity 3 to 4 people can share this dish sufficiently. Marvellous in taste. Awesome dish highly recommended.<br/><br/>Well behaved staffs, nice interior and awesome food. Overall very nice experience. I'll sure visit this place again

A calm and quiet and perfect place for simple family gathering. The quality and quantity of the dishes are quite satisfactory though the time taken to serve is too long even when the place was sparsely populated.<br/>Highly recommend for casual weekend gatherings.<br/>The desert date pancake with ice cream is a must try if you have special affinity for dates and vanilla ice cream<br/>

The chef of rather I call him - the cook is not qualified enough to prepare such dishes. I would request the management of Abcos , not to serve continental cuisine till the time they find a qualified and a good chef. <br/><br/>Even stroganoff, was horrible. Quantity of huge rice , god knows why . They thought that this is somewhat biriyani standard dish that everyone would love to have it that way. It’s not that. <br/><br/>Suggested - please try food from The Steak Factory . You would understand what’s continental is all about. <br/><br/>Thanks.

Raan was best. Tasty and sufficient for three. Rassomalai was yummy. Panner paratha was really awesome. Ambience was really good. They also provide corporate discount.

Tasty food and great ambience under low light. Seating arrangement is innovative but I didn't find it very comfortable. Good place to enjoy with family and friends alike. They have car parking as well so no issues regarding car park.

Went here for dinner today after a long time.Décor is okay,ambience is so-so.Staff was rude at first saying there are no places vacant when we had infact been asked to go there by the downstairs staff.Afterwards he behaved politely.<br/>Ordered fish and chips,egg fried rice,chicken chinese chopsuey,chicken in garlic sauce and caramel custard. Fish and chips was good and is a must-try. Other items were not that great. Custard was good.<br/>Overall an okay experience.

Me and my husband went there today and there food quality is amazing. We loved the "Elaichi raan" and the rooftop sitting arrangement is awesome. Thanks for the wonderful service too.

Dinned here yesterday. Was a quick visit and that too at a odd time. But abcos didn't dissapoint me. Got a great appetite in such an odd time. And the lemonade was too good. I loved it. And the mango crush too.<br/>It was the first time i hv been there. But it was too good. Be the food, the ambience, the service and that too a pocket friendly..
