Review Bhojohori Manna At Hazra - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Devanshi Kachchap
One the best places in Kolkata to try authentic Bengali food. The place is a bit over prices comparing to the quantity you get. But taste wise it's a đŸ’¯.
Shreya Goswamy
Warning: During Durga Puja the original menu is replaced by overpriced meals and so if you're planning to take a Non-Bengali friend, please beware that the normal 350/- thali is offered at 650/- with minor alterations! Not worth it during Pujo.

Dine in place is small. Loved the food its delicious. But one staff was taking wrong orders and serving the food which we didn't order. They are friendly. Interior was a bit different. I liked it. Overall it was a good experience. We ordered prawn cutlet, chicken cutlet, daab chingri, mutton dackbunglow, rice (wanted to order pulou but by that time it was out of stock) . And for desserts we had nolen gur ice cream, pathisapta, mango doi.

I ordered veg food cause it was Saavan time, but please do try their non-veg items they are amazing too. The cows was crazy for non-veg dishes. One bad part was they make you wait for more than 45 mins or so. No early reservations.

Went to Hazra branch. It has small capacity. Ordered quite a few items and liked all of them. The items tried were- 1) Fowl Cutlet- 10/10 2) Plain Rice, Aloo Bhaja, Dal - 8/10 3) Shukto - 6/10(taste was good but the item served was cold, if it were lukewarm it would have tasted better) 4) Chicken Dakbanglo -10/10(just awesome) 5) Notun Gur Icecream -10/10(price is on higher side) The portion of items served were not enough as per the price range. The taste of the items are really good.

Totally love with fish. I ordered Bethki fish. I don't like is the amount of greavy they give to you. And bad part is you can not event buy extra greavy. Rest if good. I don't event like interior so much. But it's ohk. I had lunch over there. That was worth .

Really nice place with some authentic Bengali food. Loved it.

Very small restaurants with 15-16 people can fit comfortably. Average interiors. Service was ok. They recommend for veg/non-veg thali + your favourite dish. Taste was ok as I had better expectations. Price is on a higher side. For good meal for two people, it will cost you Rs. 1800-2000. Would think twice for recommding anyone.

One of the best restaurant for Bengali cuisine. All of you are requested to visit Bhojohari Manna once. It has many branches in Kolkata. A little expensive but the food is great.
Nilanjan Rudra
Been there many times. One of Bengal's most iconic restaurants. Please visit for authentic Bengali cuisine experience. There are many branches but I like Hazra and Esplanade branches.

The place is good for dining in at any point of time be it lunch or dinner. They have a wide range of nenu to choose from. It's a Bengali restaurant with most the menu being exclusively eaten in West Bengal.
Akash Desai
Good, decent place to eat traditional Bengali food. This is not one of those places where you'd go for the ambience or for aesthetic. This is one of those where you go for good food, good service.
Arghya Dasgupta
Very average resturaunt. Food, hospitality nothing is worth mentioning. The glass they served for drinking water was having visible crack.Even the food was not so good

Its so fishy that some time fish tasted so well and somtime it was not so good

Situated in hazra road ...Full family restuarant ..<br/>Food is tasty but the service is really very slow..

This place serves amazing Bengali food although it's a bit overpriced.I had daab Chingri, crab and mochar something, it was tasty but quantity was less compared to its price.

Yesterday, I bought several items from the Hazra branch. Unfortunately while i was ordering the guy sitting at the counter suggested a Mourola Item which was not there on the white board. We bought the food items at home and to much of our surprise the Mourola item was smelling like shit, it was rotten to the core.<br/>Please check your food before leaving the counter. To clear their old cooked food, they are selling rotten items.

Pure Bengali food.<br/>Loved the food.<br/>But costly.<br/>For 2 people the cost will be around 1000.<br/>We ordered Daab Chingri, Chicken Dak Bangla, Dhokar Dalna,Polao(×2), Misti Doi.

Found two strands of hair in the food. Portion size was also small. Overall a bad experience. Wouldn't recommend or visit again. Paid for unhygienic food.

Had there been the option of giving negative stars I would have gladly given this place a negative rating. Thrice I have ordered food from this place for my mother, and thrice my mom was displeased. Ilish sorshe - the fish wasn't fresh and the dish itself was probably cooked by a kindergartener (ordered twice, same thing). Chingri Mach er malaikari and daab chingri- they were rotten once and another time it tasted as if the whole dish was stale. I stopped buying from them after getting the rotten dish. And mind it this was a takeaway. After hours of waiting for them to cook in a nearly empty restaurant and paying a huge amount of money for said items this is what I get. Either take drastic measures or you should just shut down.

Craving for supreme bengali thali's? Well here is the exact thing you want! ❤ superb bengali food with cozy decor. The price is a bit high but food is worth the money.

The quality of food is really bad. I ordered dab chingri, chingri malai curi and pabda jhol, what they served to us was not fresh . Also the place is very small, only 6 tables are there. I have heard bhojohari manna is a very good place for Bengali dishes but what I got is no way near to what I heard, it was very disappointing.<br/>Quantity of food-4/5<br/>Quality of food-2/5<br/>Ambiance-2.5/5<br/>Service-2/5<br/>Price-3/5<br/>I saw one of their staff took remaining of a customer's food (which is egg curi) to kitchen, as he cleaned the table.

I was really upset from such an eminent bengali restaurant. We ordered choto thala, mutton Duckbanglow and chingri mach er malaikari. In choto thala they provided 4 pcs of puffed luchi, rice/polao, 2 types of sabji, cholar dal, alur dom, chatni, papad and misti doi. Luchi, cholar dal and alur dom was perfect. Rice was very little in amount, polao was not good. Sabjis were not fresh and very cold. Chatni, papad and misti doi were good. I did not like their mutton Duckbanglow and chingri mach er malaikari. They were neither delicious nor fresh. So overall my experience was not well.

DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THERE. ORDERING FROM THERE IS NOT ONLY A LIFE RISK BUT ALSO A THREAT. THEY HAVE NO SENSE OF PACKAGING FOOD. And whats worse is that when you complain, they have the audacity to call you up asking why you wrote a (true) review and threaten to harm you physically unless you write a good review. THEY BRING MUTTON LEG OUT IN THE OPEN CAUSING YOU FEAR TO EAT THEIR PRODUCT. BUT SINCE IT COSTS YOU 1000 RUPEES INR FOR ONLY ONE ITEM YOU JUST HAD TO TAKE IT. UTTERLY ANGERING EXPERIENCE. WOULD WANT A REFUND. THEY have no sense. Digusting restaurant. They do gaali galouch to you.

Such a wonderful place for a non-veg lover I am in North Indian and I visited Kolkata and I wanted to have the best fish Kolkata could offer and I was not disappointed coming to Bhojohori Manna. The time I went there I got to enjoy Rohu machi Illish Maach and Pabda machi. They all had their unique taste and they were prepared beautifully.<br/>Food 5/5<br/>Look and feel 3/5<br/>Price 3.5/5<br/>Service 4.5/5<br/>I enjoy it my time there but I got to say that the place isn’t very beautifully made its good don’t get me wrong it’s good if you just enjoying the food and that is what I did that I just enjoyed the food but if you want a great experience of the Bengali cuisine it’s gives you just the food not the ambience. I live in Mumbai and the thing when I got outside the restaurant was to find the same restaurant in Mumbai and guess what I got one.

BHOJOHORI MANNA is an iconic restaurant chain in Kolkata. This Bengali restuarant strives to give the best quality and authentic food.<br/><br/>The ILLISH SORISH ( ₹290 for 1pc) is a gem, the gravy had a strong mustard flavour, the fish was perfectly fried, illish itself is difficult to eat but the sweetness of the flesh is unmatchable. CHICKEN DAKBANGLA (₹235) had nice dark gravy, you could also feel the use of mustard oil and was bit sweet. And the winner was BHEKTI PATURI (₹230 per pc) it was a medium size boneless fish with mustard, poshto and green chilli used for marination and then wrapped in leaf packet and steamed. This fish just melted in my mouth, I ate till they ran out of stock.<br/><br/>The ambience is not that great, parking is a big issue, food is expensive for the setting but the taste manages to covers up all these issue.<br/><br/>#foodiesofbhubaneswar #foodporn #foodie #seafood #seafoodlover #bhubaneswar #cuttack #puri #bengalifood #illish #foodislife #fish #prawns #sweet

Do not recommend at all since it is a Horrible Restaurant in the facade of being a Bengali restaurant. I did not expect that their quantity served will be so obnoxiously low. At all. Was utterly shocked at seeing their quantity so so utterly less, as though they have served you leftovers! And mind you they charged 400 rupees for leftover quantity items that I waa forced to feeling ashamed and rejected for ever making the stupid decision of ordering from there.

What should I say about this place??? It actually beats all the Bengali restaurants in entire Calcutta.. with many outlets in and outside Calcutta.. this is one amazing bengali restaurant.. while Daab Malai Chingri being the most loved. It's a heaven for those who love chingri.. go for Veg thali and order extra non veg. You get many varieties including khejurer chutney(dates pickle) which is sweet and amazing. You'll feel Bengal in every morsel you take. It's my all time favourite. Do not forget the Malpoa :)

I have been to this place a lot of times. The quality of the food is degrading. The other day I had Chitol Peti, the gravy of it was not upto the mark. The Basanti Pulao lacked the essence of it.
Debashis
We were hungry and so went to this place around 2:45 pm. But, after having the food, all of us were really disappointed. We ordered fish chop (55 per piece), plain rice (85 per plate), mangsher jhol (mutton curry containing 3 pieces of mutton with 1 piece of small potato, 245 per plate ) and chitol macher muitha (stuffed chitol fish containing 4 pieces of fish with 1 piece of small potato, 200 per plate). 5% GST will be added extra on the total billing amount.<br/><br/>Now, let's talk about the food. Except the fish chop, we didn't like anything. The price is too much as per the quantity served by them. 2 plates of rice (served in a single bowl) were just looking like 1 plate of rice as per the quantity. The shape of Chitol macher muitha is exactly like any sausage and it looks like they cut 1 finger sized sausage into 4 small pieces. The mutton pieces were very very small and when we wanted extra curry, they informed that they served the last plate to us (in that case, why did they serve it? They are not giving it for free). And the taste of the food was just average, nothing extraordinary. There is nothing special as they claim. I went to this retail several times earlier. But this time, i found that they have lost their charm. There is no meaning of expending a lot of money for their food. Even when i am writing this review, i am biting my nails for my meal.

Very small family resturant.Visited<br/>once.Ordered a nonveg thali quality of food was superb. And specially the chutney they made was excellent. And they gave an option of malpoa/misti doi for dessert and ofcourse i took misti doi.

Me and my didi visited this outlet during puja to full fill our cravings and got upset with their hospitality and also the quality of the food. Their thakis are worst. Will not visit and recommending to not visit.
Pritam Bhowmick
One of the best ambience. The food is superb. The quantity is adequate. Special mention must be made of Fish Rongpuri, Chitol Peti, Mutton Dakbungalow and Aamer Chatni. Courteous staff and timely order delivery are added features. A must visit for all food lovers.

It's really bad experience for me . Just today I visited the restaurant and they don't even have all the items. They don't even had mutton. They r serving their famous dab chinri in a normal bowl which is not at all authentic. I am not gonna recommend anyone to come to this outlet of bhojohori manna. This is worst
Priyanka Trivedi
I have visited this place quite a number of times. But today’s experience was absolutely disappointing. The fish chop was half fried and the bhetki paturi was overcooked. To help it become worse I found a dead fly inside the paturi. When I told the staff about it they were completely silent and ignorant. They even refused of having a feedback book. Anybody visiting this branch be a little cautious.

Very costly, and foods are below average.<br/>It is very embarrassing when u went there to eat,but behaviour is not well and foods of low quality and quantity.<br/>

This is a bengali restrurent. It located at hazra, near 4 point crossing. It is just beside bishnu mandir and auto stand for baligang fari.<br/>Quality of food is normal(nt so good but nt bad also). Quantity sufficient. U can get all type of Bengali spcl dishes here. Space is not enough inside the restaurant but ambience is good.

I was 4th time in kolkata.i come to know about this outlets by OLA can driver. This place is really haven for fish lovers.<br/><br/>I ordered Bhetki Fried maach and Bhetki main course. It was awesome Lunch. Its been more than 10 days still I can't able to forget test of fish till now.<br/><br/>Must try..!!

The food was avarage. Only annoying thing was the staffs. They were gossiping about certain customers about what they'll order after seeing the price. That's why a 2 stars is for you.

Bhojohori Manna has years of nostalgia attached to it. Its location is perfectly convenient - just near the auto stand at the Hazra Road-JD Metro station bend. Plus, the decor is quaint, and ambience, cosy. As you step in you'll be greeted by a pleasant fragrance.<br/><br/>Make sure you try the:<br/>--- Chicken Dakbangla<br/>--- Kosha Mangsho<br/><br/>They serve some thinly sliced & fried potatoes (aalu bhaja) which makes for the best accompaniment.<br/><br/>Not to forget, the Gondhoraj Lebu (fragrant lime). It really sets the restaurant apart & is my personal favourite addition.<br/><br/>A worth-it experience everytime.
Debjani Mandal
I ordered posto, Desi parshe jhal and mutton curry with rice. The food was very homely and served with a side of gondhoraj lebu and chilli. Overall a nice Bengali cuisine experience.

An unforgettable evening of BAD dinner at Bhojojori Manna at their Priyanath Mullick Road outlet .. we are new to kolkata and we two went after hearing so much about this name of food chain in kolkata .. Went to this outlet on Thursday 08 Aug 2018 at 8.15 p.m. We were not expecting a good ambience on the basis of Zomato rating but we expected it to be clean!!! It was not clean .. On asking Menu cards were indifferently informed by one staff ( there were 4 persons in that about 300 sqft single room of outlet -with 5th person sitting at reception and 6th at entrance who could be a watch man sort) that <br/>there were no menu cards. I had to walk up and go through and select from menu painted on the wall at the receptionist side ..They had ticked about 20 items out of maybe 90 items which were available. Mainly vegetarian items were available. Well .. <br/>We ordered Ilish mach bhaja 215/-and Bhetki Kalia cost 160/-and a rice bowl Rs 75/-.. After twenty minutes we were served food.. There was only one piece of fish in curry and curry can be about 3 -4 table spoons .. in the other fish also there was one piece of fish with about one table spoon of some oil plus 2 green chillies .. rice was in a small bowl with very little rice. I have my doubts about the fish being Ilish!!! Food was served in cheap old plastic bowls ..food was not even warm (leave aside being hot )when served..The total food was not even enough for one. On my complaint they gave little additional fish gravy about 4-5 table spoons and some yellow dal in a small plastic bowl which was cold leave aside being warm ... While zomato had indicated cost of Rs 500/- for two. We paid 493/- for two and came back hungry as we did not feel happy to order another order of dishes ..The food was insipid.Served carelessly. Insufficient for even one ( my wife eats very little -even she felt bad on the inadequate-ness of the food portion served ..). My suggestions- the name of chain is hyped .. I will not recommend this Restsurant name to anyone .. this outlet should be closed ..

it's a very lovely place and I would like to come here again and again just for the nolen gurer ice cream with sir and it is extremely beautiful in test and it is the pride of Bengal

The Hazara branch of bhojohori Manna is extremely small and not like the other bhojohori Manna. here the menu is actually written on the blackboard and we have to read and choose from it and the food is prepared and brought to us<br/><br/>you can say that it is rustic and authentic in one way but it also kills the professionalism which should be there considering it is bhojohori Manna a chain of restaurants which is very popular in Kolkata<br/><br/>Anyway when I went there? Show was not ready neither was ilish Maach so it left me very disappointed because I had to adjust and eat other things thanks a lot 3 Stars

An extremely quaint place. If you're a tourist looking for some authentic Bengali food like we were, then Bhojohori is the place to go.<br/>We had the Risa fish curry and Mishti Doi. It's strongly recommend.<br/>They also serve a range of other delicacies. Do check it out.<br/><br/>With Nisarg Gupta

I was half hungry in the evening so I just went this place while I was staying near this restaurant and I took katla Kalia and bhaat.<br/>It was tasty but they gave so less gravy which I didn't liked about it as I took parcel I couldn't do anything about it and the taste it was doing just fine this place is is once a visit.

Its a small but cosy place. Nice food, hygienic, tasty, prepared like home; will visit again but I found it not cost effective...!! I'd actually give it 3.5* but not 4.. one more grievance is that fish curry dint have curry had to order dal. I hated that...
Ankyimran3rdmay
the only flaw is that they offer only limitd food as per their chart and the time...<br/>dakbangla is awsum n i n my bf only hv chkn dakbangla n rice... that is awsum...<br/>

None of the nice dishes were available the day we went. No vegetarian option was available. The place is poorly maintained. This rating is because the food was decently cooked. Very rarely have I had this kind of an experience anywhere.
Disha B
I have visited this place often and have always been satisfied with the food and the way they present it. Fish served in fish-shaped crockery is surely a wise way to present it. No doubt this place serves authentic Bengali cuisine but I personally feel it is somewhat overhyped. The ambience is just fine. The stars are all for the food quality and taste. I may or may not visit this place again, as I have discovered equally good or better restaurants serving authentic Bengali food at more reasonable prices.
Dipankar Halder
If you go to this restro with high expectation that will be shattered. Less quantity with high cost. Oily food. No proper menu, only tickmarked ones are available. Taste is so so..
Joysurjya
My visit to kolkata would not have been complete without tasting some authentic bengali cuisine and my lovely better half took me to this place. It is a small, quiet place and the food was really good. I hope to go back and visit all the other BM outlets to try them out as well.

Good place for you to visit if looking for a bengali food outlet........ The best of this place is the meal system with variety of dishes served with nalen gur ice cream being their speciality.......
Rahul890
Disgusting food and made a mistake of prepaying for their food thru card  for home delivery , if you order food online make sure you pay in cash, check the food they give if its hot or not and only then pay to the delivery person. These people are a bunch of losers and stealing money from customers. Charging 160 Rs for one piece of fish and that too giving stale and cold dish how shameless they can be, time someone complained against them , dont waste your money on this so called restaurant I dont know how thy got 4 plus rating on swiggy definitely seems a paid rating. Useless bunch of losers.

Last time I checked I came to know Bengalis eat a lot so when I entered this outlet I expected a meal which will not only suffice my tasbuds but won't let me leave half stomach. This place has been an institution for so many Years in my city of joy but it seems that time has been harsh to this outlet. The food is expensive and it does not justify the quantity I literally had to take two plates of rice for me and my friend and mind you we don't eat much. We ordered chicken darkbunglow, channar dalna and rice and by the end of that meal we realise we need to order more. <br/>I get it, with modernisation and progress price increase but this is Kolkata and this city never charges u so flamboyantly. The dishes were ok but again I might sound a little money minded freak but it wasn't worth my 500... 2 stars for the experience and one star because this was once my favourite place to eat.
Girish
very poor if negative feedback was available I would given same. They are actually cheats will accept order and after delaying order by 30 mins will ask for 25 rs. extra to deliver on cycle that too cold food. best of luck to those who wish to order

Visit to Calcutta is incomplete if one doesn’t eat at Bhojohori Manna. So, this time it was Hazara outlet which, I am told, is the original one from where the tasteful journey started. We ordered lavishly and soon our table had Chicken Cutlet, Bhetki Paturi, Kosha Mangshu, Chanar Daal, Aloo Jhurjhuri and Rice (Bhaat). Chicken Cutlet was something out of this world and one of the best so far. A big size chicken cut was crusted with breadcrumbs and deep fried. The meat was so succulent and flavourful that you didn’t need anything else. Steamed Bhetki Paturi was a big piece of fish which had a seamless marination sauce on it. A heavenly delight to savour. Did you need anything more ? But then there was still two more dishes to be enjoyed. Chanar Daal had very mild flavours with a hint of sweetness. The grains were distinctive and yet blended in the overall dish. Had to be eaten with Luchies but we decided to defy the tradition and have it with rice. Actually, was a delight. Kosha Mangshu had those familiar flavours of Mughlai Meat Curry. The meat was very tender and flavourful. Again, with rice, it came out to be a deadly combo. #MagicofFlavours

The food was okayish.<br/>I will not recommend this restaurant for Bengali food.<br/>6 Ballygunge Place and Oh! Calcutta have topped my list from the very beginning.<br/>The worst part is my body refused to digest the food and I spent greater part of the following day in the bathroom.

I have tried almost all the branches of bhojohari manna. And each and every restaurant represents its best! I love Bengali food and I love bhojohori manna. But I would say quantity is little less according to the price. Stiiiill. Must visit! Only if you wanna taste real Bengal.

An online order with this restaurant gone horribly wrong! Placed the order at 12noon and was promised by Zomato the delivery in an hour. <br/>With constant follow up for the next 2 hours the restaurant stopped picking their phones and responding. The guests were hungry & the entire thing was flop. <br/>When at last they picked up the phone they denied the order! Bearing in mind, the online order was all paid for. <br/>Finally tge order was rearranged by Zomato and reached us after 3-30 hours. <br/>Overall horrible mismanagement by the restaurant. Never going back there. <br/>

I went there with my father on a lunch to have some good Bengali food. We had extremely horrible experience over there. It was a busy lunch hour so, we had to share our table with strangers. We ordered rice , sorshe ilish, n pabda. Food was average, fishes were over fried and not fresh. Their quantity was not at all sufficient.<br/>The worst part is their staffs. They were rude and unprofessional.<br/>Their ambience calls for improvement.<br/>I expected a lot from this place. But the experience was pathetic.<br/>I would never recommend this place to anyone ever.

Food was good but according to menu and basically their THALI's quantity and services was so poor , high price and low quantity and if you do not know about their thali and u order then they wouldn't say about their thali , what actually has in their thali, and if u not say or ask for next menu what u have then they did not recognise and serve that menu . A hectic condition already taken place their , and afternoon time u can't take time to eat , they make haste because their next business. Services boys they r very incompetent. Very short place.<br/>@biswajit naskar

This place is in a stone throw distance from my home. Firstly this place is quite and tide unlike their Esplanade outlet but is extremely small. Now comes the staffs, they are a bit rude. But I do ignore all of these when their chicken duk bungalow and Basanti polao is served, I am a big fan of it. Though I am not a fish lover but still I like their fish fry and bhetki paturi. Even dab chingri is something you can try. But I always regret that their quantity is not at all sufficient even for a normal person.

Awesome food. I went there with my parents on a monday for lunch, authentic bengali cuisine, started off with aam pora panna, followed by chicken dakbangla, tangra machh, chholar daal, polao, khejur chatney, each delicacy was mouthwatering, though the ambience calls for improvement but foodwise highly recommended.

Very miserable and horrible experience I've ever had. I took my family and friends to this outlet which was highly recommended by a colleague. The staff taking the order was very unpleasant. After placing the complete order, the food served from the kitchen came out less in number compared to what was ordered. After finishing our meal we asked them to pack the food. I realised on coming home that they did not pack half of the food. I have lost all faith in this place after the kind of behaviour we faced and feel duped. I would never recommend anyone to visit the place.

It was rainny afternoon me with my friend visited the place to have some bengali food. First of all it disappointed us that whatever food we were choosing were not available there, mat be because of it was too late to have lunch ( 13/May at 3:30PM ) . Anyway the food were very tasty as it best Bengali food restaurant in town. Overall I happy to have here. Thanks!!

food quality has deteriorated. needs improvement other wise the business will go.down as their competitors serve good quality and.tasty food at much competetive rates.

If Ed Sheeran wanted a really hands on lover, he'd probably go here instead of a bar. Strangers can really get on you, courtesy the cramped seating arrangement. During busy lunch hours, you can literally eat off the plate of people sharing your table. Food is the typical microwaved Bengali cuisine you get at other out-lets of Bhojohori, average. Staff is extra-efficient, may even serve you the finger bowl before main course. If you see my point, that is.

The crew does not care at all about what do u ask for and suggest as per their choice. You should only visit this if ur a bong. Else take some of your bong friend with you. Little bit pricey too.

This is small a outlet of the restaurant despite of their big name. But unlike their Esplanade and Sealdah junctions this one is neat and not so busy. But they lack some of the items from their menu almost every time. Otherwise the food is good as it is always been the benchmark of this restaurant chain and the staffs are well mannered.

Visited the place couple of time from 2012 onwards. Initially the joint used to be crowded due to appreciable food quality. Nowadays with dwindling food quality and quantity the place remains more or less empty. Quiet disappointed over my recent experiences. In the thali they offer good amount of rice but the quantity of other items are really less for a person with standard capacity. Bengali delicacies like postor bora or mochar chop are too small as per the price tag. The quality is not that much great only prawn malaikari is a face saver. Pulao and mutton dak bunglow are still crowd pullers. Service staffs are also bit unprofessional and keep on chating among themselves oblivion of enquiring about the food experience of the customers. Took one of my north eastern friends to have a taste of bengali delicacy at Bhojohori Manna but returned with lot of regrets.

This place has been my favorite for long long time. Love to again and again for just maach paturi and mutton and pulao. Also try ilish maach, daab chingri and gud ice cream. What a humble place.

Food is tasty but quantity compared to price is very low. Could not enjoy the food. Bad experience. Came with excitement but not satisfied. Kindly increase the quantity .

Authentic Bengali cuisine. But problem is with the menu, the items you choose for ,most of them aren't available. And the food, I must say is not upto the mark.Place gets too clumsy for so many people to accomodate.

Lovely authentic Bengali food. Light and tasty. My fav is the mochar ghonto. We ordered five variety of fishes (Ilish, Malai Chingri, Betki, Papda) nd all the curries tasted different and super ( Adhering to Bengali tradition) Excellent place for soulful Bengali food  and highly recommended if one is not picky on great ambiance.

This is one of the branches of the authentic Bengali cuisine food chain restaurants. Like the other branches it serves good quality Bengali dishes. <br/>My favorite being basanti pulao, chicken duckbaglow and chingri malai curry. The place was crowded when we visited. <br/>The service is also good

I heard a lot about this place but it's not that upto the mark...yesterday i was there with my two friends...the waiters are too much slow at their service..maximum items are not available..they dont have the basic food items to provide..the vapa chingri was awful,tasteless..polao n mutton was good..the vetki paturi was too salty...they dont even have the basic etiquette...not happening...

This Bhojohori manna is no different than any other outlet of them, always hustling & bustling, conveniently located in hazra. Dak bunglow is highly recommended

Dirtiest restaurant I have ever seen. Stinks like anything and the manager was literally trying to threaten me and wife!!!! Wild experience truly... I well done bhojohori Manna, such franchises are really giving you brand recognition!!!!

Firstly,a 4 only because of the taste of the food here..they serve the best Bengali cuisine, no doubt..what we ordered:<br/>Vat<br/>Chngrir pachmishali trkari<br/>Potol dolma mach die<br/>Bhetki paturi<br/>Kosha mngsho<br/>Ilish bhapa<br/>Tel koi<br/>Chingri malai curry<br/>Nolen gurer ice cream<br/>Each and every dish tasted like heaven * _ *<br/>But I didn't like their service..they always don't serve everything that is mentioned in the menu..so was bugged a bit..<br/>Nonetheless one must give this place a try..

The place is cramped and noisy. The service is slow. Often you aren't given menus and supposed to order by asking the waiter. The food is tasty homely bangali food and they deliver to my house.<br/>The chicken dukbungalow<br/><br/>Chanar Dalna<br/><br/>Bhetki Paturi<br/><br/>Sorshe Illish<br/><br/>are my favourites<br/>Bill is around 800-1000 for two people.

To feel the pleasure of bengali cuisines i went to this place. It is not so spacious but good.Taste is satisfactory. I liked the dishes there though............<br/><br/>One can try their special dishes during pujas.......

When you are lonely..feeling down..when you are tired of eating mughlai, continental, fast foods..Go back to your bengali roots..bhojohori manna will comfort you..and good bong restaurants just can't be found..like a bridge over troubled water..it will feed you and satisfy your stomach...ok i have visited it several times and food tasted damn good..i don't eat fish so can't say anything about the main bengali mouth watering dishes but what i can tell you that the mutton and prawn were damn good everytime..ambience is not good truth be told its bad..but who cares when a true bong(non fishy) can feel comfortable and be himself in a home like atmosphere..Do visit.

Visited in Puja for a buffet lunch, the ambience was not good as compared to the cost of the dishes, the place was very small. The prawn was not cooked properly, but the hilsa taste was nice. The service is also not good, they could not even ptovide a spoon !! We had rabri, and surely the cook does not know what a rabri is. They supplied condensed milk instead. Its surely not value for money.

Good food, but very Cramped. Disliked the ambience. It's located in a rather odd and out of the way point at Hazra. No menu card. All written on white board. <br/>Not recommended for people who are looking for a place to savour food.

My wish to eat authentic food at one of the best places in Kolkata was completed with the visit to this restaurant.....<br/><br/>I love eating authentic food when I am in a particular city.......<br/><br/>It was a small cozy place with smell of fresh fish on all tables.....<br/><br/>Lucky for us us vegetarians the restaurant offers a lot of choice<br/><br/>I ordered aloo poshto which is one of the best dish I had till date....a nice mustard gravy on well cooked potatoes.....and the poppy seads(posto) to top it up....<br/><br/>Chollar daal is one more dish I had ordered with rice was to die for.....<br/><br/>Awesome food....and would want to go to Mumbai outlet again and again...... Till I visit Kolkata again.....<br/><br/>The gur icecream(Nolan gur) was one such icecream which I have never had and someone suggested that it is something you should not miss.....I would have be a fool to not take that suggestion if I did not have that icecream..... We do not get that stuff in Mumbai......<br/><br/>Khoob bhalo

I have been there for many times and also opted for home delivery. The shop is located on the crossing of Priyanath Mullick Road and Hazra Road . It's very much accessible and convenient to reach . However the space is very less and bit crowded. <br/>The quality of food , ambience and staff is very good. I always go for the veg thali and take my favourite Barishali Ilish ( superb taste , good piece and the mustard-poppy seed gravy is awesome) , Golda Chingri ( gigantic size) , Daab Chingri ( small prawns cooked in green coconut) , Chicken / Mutton Dakbangla ( 2 pieces meat in a rich gravy with one red fried full duck egg) , Posto , Chanar Dalna, Seasonal Chatni. Superb heavenly taste. <br/>Being a Bengali , I always preferred Aam Doi , Nalen Gurer Icecream and Malpua .<br/>I recommend this place whole heatedly . <br/>

A perfect place for delicious Bengali meals. Though the space is very small here, but the food is excellent. Specially the fish items.  The ambience is not quite great actually.

We visited this place last year during the pujas................as usual...this place was crowded and we had to wait for sometime......but the food was delicious.....
Madhulika Mazumder
This is a great choice for Bengali cuisine. Queues are expected especially on weekends as the seating area is small. Price is passable for the amounts. Must try the daab-chingri and nolen gurer ice cream. Will visit again even if it's only for the nolen gurer ice cream!

First of all the ambience, I hv seen better bhojohori s in siliguri....the plasters at sm places of the wall r coming off, restroom is tiny,n to top that off, no menu card either, but to help u off, they hv a board on which the regulars n specials r written wd their price.<br/>As about the food ...it's good, not overtly so...but good.<br/>Tyangra macher jhol n fish delicacies taste awesome...so do the veg thalis.<br/>The chicken isn't spectacular....n they definitely can do a lot better in dal section.<br/>Staff is very helpful n polite...overall it's d place to hv a nice lunch if Ur in d Hazra vicinity n looking fr proper hygienic Bengali food, as the other places fr rice u hv got r shabby shack like places....

Situated just a few steps away from Hazra Crossing, this outlet of Bhajohori Manna does not boast of a great ambience. However their delicious food made up for the not-so-great ambience. The things we ordered were-<br/>1. Plain Rice<br/>2. Plain Polau<br/>3. Bagda Chingri Mailaikari<br/>4. Jumbo Ilish Borishali<br/>5. Nolen Gurer Ice cream<br/><br/>The chingri and Ilish are worth trying. Truly matched up to our expectation.<br/>The ice cream was quite good.<br/>Moreove this place is really pocket friendly.<br/><br/>I'll recommend it for anyone who's looking for an authentic bengali cuisine for lunch or dinner.<br/>Akash Ghosh <br/><br/>

Average food. Average ambience. Average service. Half of the dishes not available. Dissapointed with this branch of the otherwise great restaurant. The other branch like that of Gariahat serves great food plus its spacious.
Dyutimoy Paul
This outlet is a pretty small place, but the food they serve is of the same quality, that they serve at the other outlets. The roof of the resturant looks quite nice from the inside. The service is prompt and the people serving you are nice enough.
Joydeep Barman
Really very nice place. Small place but taste is superb. I tried rice potol dolma macher matha die dal ilish mach vaja bhetki paturi mutton dakbanglo... All items were super tasty. Must try...
Shibam Halder
Please serve only bengali cuisine and i mean please don't serve the soft drinks. Instead search for a bengali soft drink item.<br/>Rest is as same as the best outlets of the city.

Want to have authentic and tasty Bengali food and that too at a great price, visit Bhojohori Manna. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
