Review Tewari Brothers - Kolkata (Calcutta)

mahesh chatterjee
Sweet and snacks shop with lots of varieties. Lots of snacks available like Papri Chat, Samosa,Dahi gujiya, Dahi Pakoda, Dhokla etc. Varieties of sweets available with different flavours. Prices are on the higher side but they won't compromise with taste. Only thing is that it is too much crowded specially during evening time.
Soumak Das
plethora of options for vegetarians. food is great and cheap. the atmosphere is a bit congested. but they add flavour to the food.

Special Ghee fried Samosa & Kulfi is a must have. This place in Burra Bazar is crowded always for their known special foods. The place can be kept a little more hygienic especially with proper dustbins to dispose the litter.
Sonam Jain

This is one of the perfect place to have spicy chat and delicious mouth watering sweets. It is the famous and top notch in its quality and quantity in the city of Joy-Kolkata. Imarti, papdi chat , raj kachori chat , kulfi are the best food items that one should try. It is located in mahatma gandhi road. Travelling by metro would be better than traveling by private car to reach this place directly as it is burra bazar which is a very conjusted area and high chances of unsafety of your private cars as the roads are very crowded with huge vehicles and are prone to accidents.

Yummy New Arsalan Biryani is not just a small restaurant it's a brand itself... Popular for its Biryani at pocket friendly price...Ordered one spcl mutton biryani, butter naan and chicken butter masala.... The spcl biryani is enough for two persons. New Arsalan Biryani House is a small Biriyani outlet serving Biryani at Rs.80 for Chicken and Rs.100 for mutton. For a lunch I stopped by it and tried thier Chicken Biryani. Biryani was really good at that price tag. …

It is in Barabazaar (near Satyanarayan AC Market) they serves different & varieties types of food items..they serves 100% veg food items..We tried Veg Briyani( having lots of soyabeans & paneer in it) it was so delicious and yummy (just mouth watering).. Raita was quite good... Masala kulcha it was also stuffed tastes good.. Butter Paneer was nice & soft.. Mix veg was so so... Dal Makhani was also nice... cost is average..after payment u have to wait long for ur order (for crowd) Space is less ,no sitting area...if they arrange some seating they will definitely get more customers.. whenever i visit Barabazaar i surely visit Abhinandan.. Overall i just love their Veg briyani a lot..must visit...highly recommended...

You must try kachori sabji, paneer roll and also the lunch items are tasty. Only demerit there is lack of space and you have to accommodate yourself, but i must say this one is must try

Mughal Arsalan Biryani on College Street is a culinary delight that brings the rich heritage of Mughlai cuisine to the heart of the bustling College Street area. Known for its aromatic biryanis and flavorful Mughlai dishes, Mughal Arsalan has become a favorite haunt for food enthusiasts and students alike. As you step into the restaurant, you're greeted by the tantalizing aroma of slow-cooked rice, tender meats, and a medley of spices. The menu is a journey through Mughlai flavors, offering an array of biryanis that cater to various palates, from the traditional chicken and mutton biryanis to vegetable and egg options for vegetarians.

Food is very delicious. People must visit here once atleast so that they can have such nyc food on the other hand place is lil crowded all the time
Ayesa Mallick
Biryani is quite okayish type, but according to the taste and quantity the price should be 70 to 80 not 90. They need to work on their sitting arrangements and need to install more fans. It's too hot inside. Overall okay!

Best veg food I have ever had.Found this shop by co incidence but I am sure I will go there everytime I visit burabazar. The food is beyond delicious and we actually get a lot of items to choose from. The thali is the best .I feel like the shop is very underrated.More people should know about this shop because I never saw so many options in a 100% veg food shop.I know the place is very crowded but if they arrange for some seating I am sure they will get way more customers.I truly recommend this place.

I am from mumbai, I visited kolkata for a week. In kolkata i stayed in bara bazaar itself, known as the main market area of kolkata where people come all over world for shopping. <br/>Tiwari sweet is situated in the middle of main market road which makes it easy to reach location for having delicious Bengali taste.<br/>Some of the things i tasted were sweet know as Sandesh, rasgulla as well as rasgulla made with jaggery And in food chole bhature and raj kachori.<br/><br/>For sweets would recommend to have it at tiwari sweets only as the taste is upto the mark. <br/>But if you are spicy love in food i would not recommend you to have raj kachori as it taste alot sweet.

What's in the name? "Tewari" is enough when it comes to sweets. Whatever occasion, festival or events sweets from the Tewari is most important and priority & if don't available then only other shops comes. No one comes close to Tewari in sale. Beside staying and grownup with Tewari Sweets & Samosa we know what taste and quality they provide. - "Rakesh Tiwari"

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. So did I when in Burrabazar, the traditional, chaotic CBD area of Kolkata. <br/>So, I had lunch like the locals in this area would. <br/><br/>Ventured into this famous place to savor some snacks for lunch after a work meeting. <br/><br/>Extremely easy on the pocket and good in taste, the super fast selling sweets and snacks are to be tried. Had the dhokla and aloo tikki chaat.

If you love sweets and you havnt been here Trust me you are going through a deep loss... One of my favorite sweet shop of kolkata... which serves pocket friendly fresh tasty sweets and snacks...

These are the famous samosas, also referred to as Singhadas in Kolkatta. So when a colleague flew down from the Kolkatta office, we made sure he does not come empty handed. 😛<br/>These Singhadas from Tewari Brothers are very different from a normal Samosa and are purely made in ghee and filled with amchur powder. They are filled with vegetables and can even stay for more than a day. I would love to go eat these fresh from the outlet at Kolkatta sometime.<br/>So what are you waiting for? Do try these when in Kolkatta. .

A not so small place in bada bazar . Good for Quick brunch. We ordered a chola bhatora and kulfi which was decent enough.<br/>Once I had laddoo from this place which was really pathetic. It was dry and not fresh. I would like to try some more other items from here

Stopped over here for a quick bite..<br/>The place was pretty crowded n the crowd is well managed.. But the tables n floors were quite grimy..<br/>We took chole bhature.. A samosa n idli dhokla.. The chole bhature was really tasty..<br/>The samosa was too small and filling was less.. The covering was too thick..<br/>The idli dhokla was a bit dry but tasted alright..<br/>The kulfi was good though..<br/>Hygiene needs a bit of n attention spcly the tables should be promptly cleaned..

One of the few places who don't need any introduction as they are legend in their own right !<br/><br/>We had the following -<br/><br/>Singhara - the Kolkata version of samosa. This delicacy is fried in pure ghee.. yes you read it right- in pure ghee which gives it a different taste altogether. The masala is inside is spot on and spicy and tangy at the same time.<br/><br/>Jalebi - deep fried jalebis here are to die for.. something very special about this place is that these jalebis are also made in pure ghee, which gives a testament of how good the quality of food is in the restaurant.<br/><br/>Chole bhature - chole bhature are available post noon here and they are scrumptious to say the least. Mouth watering and trust me you won't just have one bite for sure.<br/><br/>Raj kochori - another post noon delicacy. This is a kochori which is filled with curd, bhujia and other masala which gives it a astounding taste and feel.<br/><br/>Sweet lassi - this place is famous for its sweet lassi which has oomps of malai floating on the top. You can tell the serving guy whether you want sweet or light sweet depending on your taste. I wanted light sweet lassi and he served me exactly what I wanted - kudos !<br/><br/>Kulfi falooda - lastly we had this amazing amazing desert which was creamy and had falooda all over it. Best way to finish the meal !<br/><br/>Overall rating -<br/>Ambience - 4/5<br/>Food quality - 5/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Value for money - 5/5<br/>

Located just beside Satyanarayan Park AC market this shop serves one of the best vegetarian food in kolkata. It has variety of foods along with various types of shakes and authenticated pure ghee sweets. All the items in this shop is mouth watering. I had chola bhatura and mix chaat. Both were just awesome.I loved the mix chaat more as it had the mixture of all the flavours in it. Tewari sweet is located in the core of bara bazar. It is one of the famous and best selling sweet shop of that area. The sweets are made in pure asli ghee.. Emarti is my favourite. I also like the kulfi served there. And if you want to try anything apart from sweets then raj kachori is best you can try.
Sourabh
One of a more famous shops in the area. It's claim to fame was its samosa. But it had a lot of fame in producing great ladoos and barfis. For snacks they have great chola bhatora and kulfi.

One of the most iconic sellers of marwari sweets and snacks of Kolkata, this shop is situated at busy Cotton Street off Burrrabazar. They serve singhara, raj kachori, many types of sweets, dhokla, Kulfi etc etc. Service is fast. They use ghee and kheer in their sweets. We had motipaak, kaju barfi and gulab jamun. All were essentiallly good. Revisit on cards.
Rajarshi Chakraborti
Andho ke desh mein, kaana raja.<br/>That is how I will describe Tewari brothers.<br/>It is nothing great, and is like very halwai in North India.<br/>I went because I miss Chole Bhature and this is one of the few places in the city to offer decent chole bhature.
Spoonfulofgourmet
Well honestly speaking! No one can say no to "TEWARI KE LADDU" ! One of the most loved sweet shops of Kolkata! I love the ladduu n jalebi from this place. Both are to die for!

Amazing samosa my dad got for us today. The outer shell was hi 75 hot and sweet sauce as they forgot to give chutney along with it.Would definitely give it another try with their chutney
Bhavana
This is my all time favourite place for Sweets. All the sweets are made from pure desi ghee. You'll get the best sweets in town here. Apart from the sweets, the snacks are also good. Samosa is just awesome. There is no comparison between the normal street side samosa amd Tewari's Samosa. Ordered Raj Kachori, Tikiya Chola and Papri Chat too. Raj Kachori was very good with perfect mix of spices. Papri Chat was way too sweet. Tikia Chola was good. This place provide's u top quality food.<br/>Food- 4.5<br/>Ambience- 3

Tewari brothers are a childhood favourite of mine. I simply love their samosas, chumchum, and other snacks and sweets. The place is always crowded, so I prefer takeaway. But it is a sin to skip the tikia chaat and chola bhatura here. Do try them once.
Pawan Naulakha
This is my fav destination for chat and jalebi.<br/>This as far as I know is the oldest place in Kolkata I had visited.<br/><br/>Once you come to Kolkatta Bura Bazar - the most crowded and famous street shopping centre of Kolkatta you cannot afford to give this place a miss - Mainly famous for the Raj Kachori it serves here which is enough to feed 3 people at one go.<br/>It has fresh yoghurt - Kachori and those special masalas which makes the heart swing to fresh Kolkata food.
Aakash Kumbhat
Just an awesome and my favourite place which I go everytime I visit Kolkata. Tewari Sweets has been a hit since old days when our mother's time and now it's ours.<br/><br/>They serve many sweets and chaats or tea time refreshments and tea too that obviously you can check on their menu.<br/><br/>But everytime I visit there only n only for one item, thats RABRI FALUDA. Its 2 2 2 good and tastes awesome. I love this place. However, seating is not that nice and since this shop is very old and thus looks old since no renovation has been done to look it modern.<br/><br/>These doesn't effect my eagerness to go there.<br/><br/>Highly recommended.

Well after a long time relished myself on Tewari Sweets, thanks to my elder brother. We had Mawa Pista Barfi, Moong Dal ka Ladoo and Kaju Barfi. All the sweets are prepared in Pure Ghee which makes it very aromatic and deliciously tasty and mouth watering. It's too fresh to be true. Would love to have their snacks and kulfi as well when am near there place.

Tewari is one of the biggest & most popular name in sweets. This branch of Tewari Sweets is one of biggest too.<br/><br/>Tried their Imrati & Gulab Jamun, both were excellent in their catagory. Just after the first bite it definitely felt of premium quality & made by professionals. Unlike other sweet shops it wasn't extreamly sweet, rather just the right amount that its taste can be felt well. Size of the sweets were bit smaller than expected.<br/><br/>Another good thing is that they have seperate counters for snacks, sweets, kachori, imrati & even for billing & parcels. In this way they easily manages huge crowd of Bara Bazar visiting their shop. Tewari sweets are not the best sweets of Kolkata but definitely lives upto its name.<br/><br/>
Dipanjana Khadolia
In the lanes of Bara Bazar in Kolkata right opposite to haldirams. Tewari brothers happens to be the right snack stop while you are on a shopping spree. We did just that. <br/>Since Bara Bazar is famous for street food we had little here. We ordered ;<br/><br/>Raj kachori - The making of the kachori is a delight to watch. I loved the taste of it. The curd was sweet and smooth in consistency not lumpy. The portion was huge too. For just 70 bucks. <br/><br/>Malai kulfi is what they're famous for. I didn't want to miss it. So we had that. They add gulab khus syrup and sevai along the kulfi which gives it a way better taste. <br/><br/><br/>Overall,<br/>Taste - 4/5<br/>Vfm - 4/5<br/>Service - NA, self<br/>Ambiance - 2/5<br/><br/>I loved what I had here. Would like to try more items from their menu on my subsequent visits.
Mohit Kejriwal
Well, I am hardly aware of any of their delicacies which I have not had, as I have been visiting them since childhood! They have been operating generation-over-generation – this being their ancestral business!<br/><br/>Their might not be a single soul in the whole of Kolkata, and even beyond – who has not visited this veteran outlet!<br/><br/>They offer what not, from snacks to sweets, from chaats to desserts, from beverages to packed stuff, from North Indian to South Indian as well as Chinese – and much much more!<br/><br/>Today, having regards to the scorching heat, relished their signature kesar pista kulfi! No need to mention – how tasty it was – topped with feluda and rose syrup sprinkled all over!<br/><br/>Since, I was already through with my lunch, could not gorge on their signature samosas or other chaats and snacks!<br/><br/>Prices are somewhat high, but justified. They also have some seating arrangements in their 1st floor – apart from the ground floor!<br/><br/>Service is fine as well as the location – nearby the Satyanarayan AC Market.<br/><br/>Only major concern is hygiene - dirty tables with leftovers, stinking washbasins and poor ambience!

Tewari is one of the famous and very old shop. The main branch is situated in Burrabazaar near satyanarayan park. Its open in the early morning seven clock and started making the foods. Tewari has many branches all over in india. It is mostly famous for its sweets.<br/><br/>The samosa of the tewari is very unique and the masala inside it is awesome. It mostly sales all types of snacks and sweets. All the food was prepared in the desi ghee. Hot Hot jalebi in the morning feels so yummy and tasty.<br/><br/>In evening also I tried almost all the snacks specially raj kachori, Gulab Jamun, etc. Whenever I go to tewari I use to eat culfi which is very yummy. The burrabazaar tewari is little bit overcrowded.

Tewari sweets is located at Barabazar has an old legacy.<br/><br/>It is mostly famous among non Bengali communities, but Bengalis like me love this place too.<br/><br/>It is always crowded due to its popularity, with a nice ambience and nice staffs and small sitting arrangenents , it offers high quality sweets & snacks at a reasonable price.<br/><br/>Tried their samosa, gulab jamun & lassi.<br/>All were superb. Their samosa is probably the best samosa I have ever eaten. Gulab jamun was soft and heavenly. Lassi was thick, creamy and delectable.<br/><br/>Very pleasurable experience .....<br/><br/>

Rasogulla,Kanchagollar Sandesh, Jalebis, Khasta Kachori, samosas,Tikia Chhole, chaats ,Laddoo, Kaju Burfi, Chandrakala, Rasmalai, Gulab Jamun, sompapdi each and every product is delicious and fresh and healthy food. This one is a Desi Ghee special, you can smell Desi ghee, the moment you enter, they make the best Samosas and ammriti. Always crowded, and the aroma of deshi ghee makes you crazy. But if you love bengali sweets this is not your place.
Debadrita
Their moti chur laddoos are the best ive ever had. I've never been to this place, but whenever my dad brings sweets from this place, they are just awesome. Do visit this place for the best laddoos in town.

Amazingly the Imarti stays crunchy for hours and thus a bite will bring a heavenly smile on your face all the time. The size really matters and an Imarti was about the size of your palm. :)<br/><br/>Be patience, because the queue can be of 10 people waiting for Imarti, and do not feel embarrassed if you find people packing 100 pcs!!
Subhadeep Dey
Well what to say about tewari, one of the most famous swt shops of kolkata. Specially popular among the marwari community. Anything u taste over here will be delicious! But beware of the que, its almost always full. What i know is they dont take bulk pre orders and u'll only get if its available.

Location-Bara baazar,Kolkata.<br/><br/>Also known as the "Bada Tewari" this shop is Kolkata's one of the oldest and the most renowned sweet shop. But ironically we love the fast food that they serve.Throughout the day you will find this place over crowded They also have a small seating area and inspite of such a heavy crowding the service is also too fast.We firmly believe that you must try the following dishes at this place-<br/>1:Chola bhatura<br/>2:Lassi<br/>3:Samosa with khajur chutney<br/>4:Rosgulla of chota tewari<br/>5:Kulfi with faluda <br/>6:Raj kachori<br/><br/>Food-4.5<br/>Service-4.5<br/><br/>A visit to this place is highly recommended.😃😃

A pure vegetarian paradise, which remains crowded and occupied for most time of the day. Tried their Samosas and Chola Batura along with Gulab Jamun and Laddu. They also make very good Lassis and Chaats. Served at pocket friendly prices, this place is a must visit.

This place is situated near bara bazar satnarayan ac market. It is crowded most of the time. The sweets and charts are very good in quality and taste too. Their samosas are my favourite.
Make It Two
This slow Monday evening had us dreaming of the beautifully crunchy and equally juicy "Imarti" that is deep-fried in Ghee (yes, GHEE & nothing else) from the original Tewari Brothers also knows as "Bada Tewari", at Bara Bazar area. "Imarti" is basically a sweet flower-shaped dessert popular in India, made with a mixture of Urad Daal or Split Black Gram flour & Rice flour, deep fried in Ghee or Oil, in beautiful spiral shapes & then dipped in sugar syrup. The ones at @tewaribrothers are one of the best you'll find in Calcutta & are made in front of your eyes. In every bite, you hear the crunch & taste the desi Ghee. We think it's a piece of art; edible art!

Amidst all the chaos of burrabazar you find this giant standing tall.. With its raj kachori to samosa to its tikiya chat to top up with its kulfi.. Everything seems just perfect always...

For me bara bazar has alwys been a place where i feel afraid before visiting. Its so messed up full hustle bustle. People walk and run and for me to visit bara bazar one needs guts. After so much of thinking and lots of queries, i go with a smiling face there, just in a thought that i'll something from tewari. And i just go crazy thinking about it.<br/><br/>Their sweets to snacks to food everything is pure and different. I love theur pure ghee sonpapri then motichur ke ladoos then motipak, pista roll, gulab jamun mouth melting, jalebi is just full with the best essence and flavour of keshar, chandrakala, Keshar wali kulfi, with that rose syrup, barfis they make out of world. They have different class of sweets and which is unbreakable.<br/>Not only sweets when it comes to namkeen that is also nice methi suhalis, mixtures, potato chips, dry fruits mixture, kaju chips, moong daal, khasta kachori, mewa samosa and what not, they have a full variety of namkeens and everything has its own speciality.<br/>And it comes to food when you visit here with a starving hunger stroke, their raj kachori full of curd and chutneys and more stuffs, best ever. Then samosas with the spicy masala and chutney to greet it. Chole bature without garlic and onion even is a sample piece. Tikki chat so hot and very tasty. Papdi chat is one that any day i just love to have but when it comes to tewari i can't control.<br/><br/>Must visit and try things from each section. What i don't like is its not at all good to sit there and eat takeaways are best.<br/>Not only me relatives from outside also once they visit this place and they go crazy. . Must visit!!. Recommended!!. .

I just go there to have their Legendary Samosas (Singhara in Bengal). They are very popular in Burrabazar area but I just love their Singhara's. Very crispy & a bit spicy, goes very well with the Chutney they give. Available from early morning till late evening. I would say, it's a must have snack if you are in Kolkata.

The ladoo and sonpapri is a must try when you visit tewari sweets. The smell of ghee will just blow your mind if you have a sweet tooth. Kachori and samosa is tasty as well.
The Offbeat Collections
Though it is named as tewari sweets, I like their snacks more than their sweets especially their samosa. Their laddu, son papri, kaju barfi are not as impressive as in haldiram's but I like their gujias.
Deboleena Dutta Chakraborty
This is must for me when I go for shopping in barabazar . Recommended kulfi, span papri, laddo, famous Raj kachori, papri chat, and everything e bole amay dekh, o bole amay dekh.. nothing will disappoint you.

Old world, eclectic, ebullient.... If only words could reflect the signs of the heart, it had to be Tewari Sweets, tucked within the teeming confines of Barra Bazaar. Never expect it to be empty. And neither should it be. For if paradise was ever to be found, it had to be within the juicy concoction of the ethereal Raj kachori or splendid kesar kulfi. The kheer sandesh and the gulab jamun directly from the boiling juice comes a very near next. The dhokla is standard issue but the lassi is not. It is heaven.<br/>So the next time you are stuck in the human tsunami called Barra Bazaar, off Satyanarayan Park, drop in. Immortality awaits.

Going to Tewari Sweets is really a nice treat to your tongue. I went at Burrabazar for a departmental exam and thought of having some snacks there I ordered choley batora but it was not in stock then we ordered for mixed chat, lassi and one sweet named parwal. The mix chat was really mouth watering and the green chutney made it marvellous. The lassi was served in earthen pot (bhanr) and once I sipped into the lassi it made my day cz it was sooo tasty and lip smacking. The lassi at Tewari is a must try drink at a very low pocket pinch of Rs 30/-. Parwal is a green coloured sweet made with real parwal ('potol' in bengali). They soak the parwal into juice of sugar and then slit into two pieces and poured kheer in between them and joined the two pieces. It should also be tried. Overall its a nice experience.

Tewari Brother's alias Tewari Sweets ...the names is synonymous with great quality pure ghee products. Of all their items their pure desi ghee ladoos are much liked and are in great demand for various pujas and other special occasions. Their son papri too is quite good. In fact most of their mithai is quite good and liked by all.( they are in great demand for various festivals).

The name is enough 'TEWARI SWEETS'. This shop is the first name to cross your mind when you are talking of pure desi ghee sweets and other pure dishes. A variety of delicious sweets along with pure dahi items as lassi, raj kachodi etc. bring water in mouth only by naming and discussing so. Dude, you must in no way miss out the Faluda Kulfi of here, you will surely regret if missed out.

I dont need to say much about tiwari...<br/>Everything in this is as tasty as i ate 10 years ago <br/>But my favourite is kaju roll<br/>And raj kachori <br/>In the whole burrabazar no one makes as tasty food as tiwari does
Shailesh Ganeriwala
Wow. A place still doing well and has to queue up on festivals to get traditional sweet from this place. Local snacks also do well with fixed menu for more than 25 years.

Whenever visiting Bara Bazaar, do try the kufli with faluda.. The chaats too are tasty. And of course do try the sweets available there, their quality is really good
Vikash Singhal
This place was supposed to be the best shop for sweets in Kolkata but it is deteriorating day by day..I am totally disappointed with the quality and the cleanliness issues

Tewari is among one of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata ! All you sweet tooth people put your gear on 'cause this place will fulfil all your "kuch meetha khane ka mann kar raha " cravings ! The kulfi with faluda is a must try !

Situated, like a boss, right at Barabazar market place, this sweet and snacks outlet is just phenomenal in its quality of sweets. Paradise for a sweet lover like me. Even the snacks are lip-smacking. Just go there and have sweets as much as you want, and pack for all your friends and family members. Don't forget to try Parwal sweets. Big thumbs up!
Kritika Ahuja
One of the best sweet shops in Calcutta. My parents had always told me about this place. And I really loved the tings we bought from here. Samosas, dhokla and some more sweets. Though I'm not much into sweets but I loved the things they make.

Just realised that I missed out writing a review on my favourite joint. The Tewari Sweets located at Cotton Street, Barabazar is one of their oldest franchisee. I remember going to this shop almost once every week with my father to try out the various items on the menu. My brother and I used to love the raj kachori chaat here. I have never tasted a better raj kachori chaat anywhere else in the country. The samosa chaat also used to be a favourite of ours. The amriti available is to die for. Even the samosas and sukha kachori served is simply out of the world. And if you are in the mood for a tasty breakfast then their club kachori and sabji is a must try. <br/>Do not go for the decor and interior because that is not important when you are at a place like this. All you should concentrate is the yummy food available.
Jaya Dutta
Visiting this place since childhood, the taste is still same as it was earlier also.<br/>Samosa is wooow...sweets are too good. All chats, specially raj kachori is nice. So as kulfi., What u name here is good, made of pure ghee and the same can be felt. Located in the busy road of burabazar and is quiet crowded everyday evening.

Vicky Agarwal
Tewari Sweets is a favorite place for buying sweets for any occasion. Freshness Guarantee for anything which you choose.Khirmoha, Suraj mukhi, Rasmadhuri kaju pista barfi, badam pista barfi and etc are the specialities.<br/> They distribute all the sweets to the poor ppl which left at the closing tym. Can you name any other shop who does this practice??<br/><br/>Moreover the staffs are well mannered. Bingo to the owner who himself is too good in nature.
Abhishek Sharma
All the items are quite fresh & pure, the best part according to me is soanpapdi & kulfi, I no longer reside in Kolkata but never miss them whenever I am here.
Siddhartha Chowdhary
Tewari is a household name for everybody staying or working in this area. Probably all the marwaris in kolkata know this place. I can pick anything from tewari and it will not disappoint. You can swear by its purity. Everything made in pure ghee and snacks without onion and garlic. Not much is needed be said about this brand. My favourites are raj kachori, tikia chhola chat, kulfi, imarti and soanpapdi. Always crowded and always satisfying.
Riddhi Sanyal
Heard a lot about this place. This was my first visit and opted for the snacks. Not being a sweet-lover, didn't make any effort to try out their sweets. Had Chhola Bhatura, Dahi Gujia and Kulfi. Dahi Gujia tasted far better than the Bhatura. The "chhola" part in the bhatura wasn't at all tasty. Preferred to have the puris only, without their chhola companion. However, loved their Kulfi with huge quantities of faluda and syrup.

While I did not get a chance to have the famous sweets here, I gave the snacks a go. The singara, raj kachori chat (humongous) and dahi pakoda were all average, so average that I would not go back for them. In addition, they had run out of a bunch of stuff. The only thing I liked was the kulfi falooda, which was rich and suitably creamy. In the end, I regretted not going to the tried and tested Haldirams right opposite. <br/><br/>PS: Century!! :)
