I've been coming to this restaurant for years, and it's always been a favorite of mine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a classic old school vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the juices are always delicious. One of the things I love most about this restaurant is the variety of juices and drinks they offer. There's something for everyone, from fresh squeezed juices to smoothies to milkshakes. I've never had a bad drink here, and I always leave feeling refreshed and energized. This restaurant has been visited by many big personalities from India and globally, and it's easy to see why. It's a great place to relax and enjoy with delicious drinks with friends or family. The sitting space is fairly good. There are a few tables inside, as well as a large one for big groups. Parking can be difficult for 4 wheelers as it is on the Road. 2 wheelers can be parked in front of it. It has a paid parking from Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Overall, I highly recommend this great place to go for a casual drink with friends or family. The drinks are refreshing, and the atmosphere is inviting.

Even after having different shops serving varieties of drinks and mocktails for quenching our thirst, the craving of Paramount and the drinks they serve, the urge to visit this place and to take their drinks at least once is still fresh for over a century.... Founded in 1918, and re-shifted to its present location in 1936, this place is quenching the residents of Kolkata till date, serving cream-based and syrup-based sherbets of different flavours as well as a variety of fusion drinks.... A sip of any drink is enough to refresh the mind, body and soul of anyone.... Today we tried their syrup-based Green Mango Sherbet.... Their signature drinks are Dab Sherbet, Mango Mania, Cocoa Mania and Passion Fruit drink.... Pocket pinch (per head): ₹70-200

Serving since 1918, this place is renowned for its tasty juices/shorbot. Situated just opposite of College Square, mainly college students and office goers come to this place for refreshments. Famous for its Dab shorbot and other special shorbots like Cocoa Malai, Mango malai and also Pineapple Malai. The special ones start from Rs. 100 and the syrup and curd based ones start from Rs. 60. I would suggest trying Dab Shorbot, Cocoa Shorbot and Mango Sharbat. These are my favourite ones. We loved it.

Paramount is a name and a brand also, to be precise, to name the elite sherbet centres in and around Kolkata. The small and to some extent, claustrophobic ambience of the centre pales into illusive insignificance as and when one tastes some of the sherbets from the plethora of offerings it has to offer, the 'Daab Sharbat' (Sherbet made from the pulp of green coconut), to name one. One major drawback of the centre is that it accepts only cash payment! No digital mode of payment is accepted here till date! The authority may consider doing the needful in catering to the call of the hour of offering digital modes of payment like Debit Cards, Credit Cards, UPI and likes. Many eminent dignitaries from India and the world at large have payed their gracious visit to the place over the last one hundred and a few years. It is situated just to the opposite of the Calcutta University with only the College Square swimming-pool in between the two 'centre of excellences'!

The iconic sherbet outlet which has attracted famous people from all over India to taste it for once. This outlet reeks legacy and history. This outlet is over 100 years old and people like netaji and others have frequented this place for a sip of their renowned sherbet. We have fruit punch and mango sherbet at first. Each cost around ₹150. After that we ordered green mango syrup and it was the best of the lot and cost around ₹80. It was worth it and the sherbet were out of this world. This place is present just behind the college square lake. A must go for food lovers and history seekers.

We went to this century old juice joint and loved the experience. We tried their famous Daab sharbat which was excellent and very refreshing. Will definitely come to try their other juices.

The most popular sherbet place in Kolkata, it is a must visit. My favourites are Daab Sharbat (it is filled with Daab malai) and Rabri based passion fruit drink filled with cashews & raisins.

you go to this place for the old vibe. So many famous people have visited this place, that i feel it's as good as Indian coffee house, if not more. The restaurant maintains a list of all the celebrities. being 105 years old and still maintaining good quality and attracting so many local students in the area is no small feat. food quality is good with unique taste for all the drinks that we ordered. the place is not very big and remain fairly crowded. we went there on a Saturday, and still we had to wait for at least 15 minutes. but having the drink and experiencing the vibe, i would say it's worth it. worth to go here and spend your time and money.

Paramount is located in central Kolkata. On the same street as the Mahabodhi Society, just behind College Square Park. Nihar Ranjan Majumder, originally from Barisal in present-day Bangladesh, founded it in 1918 after moving to Kolkata. For over a century, Paramount has sold only syrups and sharbat that they made from their own recipes. They are perfect thirst quenchers for a humid day.

Paramount, nestled amidst the bustling bookstores and historic charm of College Street in Kolkata, is more than just a refreshment spot; it's a cherished nostalgia for Bengalis and a cultural gem that has stood the test of time. Founded in 1918 by Nihar Ranjan Majumder, who hailed from Barishal, this establishment initially went by the name "Paradise." Little did he know that his venture would become an enduring legacy in the heart of Kolkata. Over the years, it transformed into "Paramount," and its history is a testament to the enduring spirit of entrepreneurship. The star attraction at Paramount is undoubtedly their fabulous coconut drink, which has earned a special place in the hearts of patrons. Fresh coconut water, combined with a secret blend of flavors, creates a concoction that's nothing short of heavenly. It's the quintessential way to beat the sweltering Kolkata heat. But the delights at Paramount don't stop at coconut drinks. Their menu boasts a range of delicious offerings, including Coko Malai, Mango Mania, Tamarind Sarbat, Rose Sarbat, Lassi etc. Each sip is a burst of flavor, offering a refreshing respite for thirsty visitors. When you venture to College Street to explore its historic bookstores and immerse yourself in the world of literature, a visit to Paramount becomes a delightful tradition. It's more than just quenching your thirst; it's a cultural experience, a sip of history, and a slice of Kolkata's heritage. Whether you're a Bengali seeking to relive cherished memories or a traveler eager to taste the essence of Kolkata's past and present, Paramount in College Street should be a top destination. It's where history, culture, and delicious beverages converge, making it an integral part of the city's soul.

A one stop corner for various kinds of soft drinks (Sharbat). A beautiful shop carries it's own history. Servers delicious fresh sharbat to its customers. Has a beautiful atmosphere. A must visit shop in Kolkata.

One of the heritage of Kolkata is Paramount Cold Drinks and Syrups located in College Street. Ruling since 1918 and it still has it's old charm. Many famous personalities and celebs visited this place like Netaji, Jagadish Ch. Bose, Satyajit Ray and so much more. We tried the classic Dub Sarbat for 100 rs. Still there is old charm like stuffed horns, marble table. They also serve in weddings and occasions and also takeaway service is there.

It was my first time here. Very nice experience. Nice and fast service. Delicious drinks. Different varieties with reasonable prices. Very refreshing on a hot summer's day. Had the passion fruit malai serbet and pineapple malai serbet. Both were very nice in taste. Two other persons adjacent to us had a mango and kesar serbet which they said were nice. All were served in generous quantity. Enjoyed my time here. Would come here again. Highly recommended for the people visiting Collegestreet.

What new can I say about this place? It's wonderful. Over the last 20+ years, I have visited this iconic place innumerable times. I wish they had more options based on natural fruits rather than syrup.
