Review Cocoa Bakery - Kolkata (Calcutta)

We have made several visits to this quaint little joint and this has evolved as our go to comfort place for cafe food and dessert. This surely is a hidden jem and deserve all the praise for their wholesome food and friendly staff. We have also been ordering cakes for our birthdays and recently we ordered a special 2 tier cake for our engagement. I have to say they did an excellent job of reproducing the design that we found online and it was equally delicious to eat. I highly recommend you go with cocoa bakery for such occasions as they are evidently very good at what they do.

Cocoa Bakery is definitely one of the hidden gems when it comes to savoury food. Their quality of food is great and they use delicious ingredients that are not usually available at our homes. Might be on a pricier side for some, but it delivers when it comes to taste.

A beautiful little bakery and cafe, the food is nice, ambience is good. Pros: the behaviour of the staff and the service they give is awesome. Cons: The space is too small for comfort, u fill in 4-5 people and it gets crowded. Overall it's a good place to head out to for a coffee.

I honestly hopped in just to sit and chat and wasn't in the mood to eat. The ambience is cozy and have been there previously also so ordered small bites - veg pizza, veg pattie, chocolate donut. All 3 were yummy and the donut was dripping with chocolate. Lovely experience..the place is fuss free..items are value for money and full of taste..must try

The place is extremely alive. With a sitting arrangement in open area this place has got my heart, also fir the fact that they serve most awesome hot chocolate. Extremely reasonable and hygienic💖

A quaint little cafe in a quiet lane of Alipur. Nice ambience with courteous staff. Small sitting area in 2 parts. Serves typical cafe food like patties, muffins, cakes, pastries, doughnuts, burgers, wraps, crepes etc. Plenty of additional choice in the menu with soups, salads, pasta, risotto and various beverages. The patties and cookies are delicious. They take cake orders for parties and customise as per needs including eggless. Had a great experience for a birthday party cake with good taste and reasonable price.

Place was alright, very fancy and all. Certain items in the menu seemed a bit overpriced. Otherwise the food quality is decent. Service is good. Might have to wait for a bit during the evening time as the place is quite busy.

Couldnt be abything better. I wanted a place to kill time before my meeting and found this place. A very nice and cozy ambience and staff being very friendly had a vegan shake with vanilla icecream and a pattice which was just perfect inside you have lot of varieties of chocolates cakes biscuits etc perfect sit outs too. Cosy little cafe. A go to place for me and my friends/cousins. The food is really good and the hazelnut/Irish cappuccinos are truly coffee lover's paradise. I wish they bring their cinnamon rolls back. They were fantastic. Also, amazing collection of breads and desserts.

A close friend of mine ordered a cake for me on my birthday it was yum and really worth it.. I must say they serve delicious stuffs and amazing cakes you can go and have a look on it... You won't regret.. Really happy and definitely going to order again

I have placed order for some gift hampers on behalf of my organization. First thing first, all food items were tasty and delicious. Decorations was also eye-catching. I received all the hampers at one go, which was a hassle free process.

Right opposite to my school - bidya bharati girls high school . I regret the fact why dint it come up when I was in school because it's actually worth the money that I spend and the money I spend is worth spending for its delicacies and it's pocket friendly too . The bakery that has hardly 15 to at the max 20 seating arrangement makes sure to serve it's customers in the best possible way. It's an amazing small cozy place to drop by for coffee or pasta or sandwich or desserts or even a full course meal . They make it all brilliantly . For people like me to whom quantity matters this place surely won't disappoint you . And then comes the huge range or absolutely amazing breads and cookies and cakes and pastries . OH MY GOD . The lil trays make it worth a try and repeat purchase too ... This place is also highly recommended for personalized cakes .

One of my favorite cafe in kolkata. Food is absolutely yum n one of the best place to hang out with friends :) Their penne pasta in white sauce is a must try!

Customers buying breads and savouries from Cocoa beware. More often than not the bread that you will buy is stale and catches fungus in lessthan 36 hours. I had gone to cocoa a while back to return a whole wheat bread which had developed fungus in less than 36 hours after buying it but they refused to take responsibility for the same. the girl at the counter was extremely rude and discourteous and the owners son refused to meet me to hear my complaint. I would not rate this place as worthy for going to Indeed unfortunate.

The ambience was elegant. The place is just so warm,cosy,peaceful. The good quality of food and peaceful atmosphere forces me to visit the place often ❤ The staff is very respectful and cooperative. I feel it is the best.

Simply, the most beautiful cafe i have ever been to! Gives you really cosy and warm vibes, it has a welcoming spark to it! Talking about how pretty it is, if it's true that we eat with our eyes then it stands to reason that the design of this place is as delicious as the food they serve. We have spent quality time at Cocoa Bakery always with family and friends. The salad is verrrrry munchy and burgers and coffee is just sumplicious.The ambience is wonderful.

The food is good but the quantity is too less. We told them about this but it seems they were reluctant to follow. The prices are quite high as compared to qusntity.

Tried their Chocolate mousse cake for the first time. It was rich and decadant with salted buttered biscuit base. If you love dark chocolate mousse then this is NOT the mousse cake for you but otherwise it wasnt bad.

I have been a frequent visitor for years . This is the first time I'm penning down my feedback. <br/>Ambience: cozy and small , certainly something i like.<br/>Location: Opposite newalipore CCD and Cakes, easy to locate.<br/>Food: 1. Chicken White Sauce Penne Pasta- my all time favourite, can't be more perfect. Quantity could be better.<br/>2. Chicken lasagna - it had a tangy flavour, which i personally don't like to have in this dish.<br/>3. Fish and chips- totally disappointing, the fish which they claim to be bhetki was stale and tasteless. Please don't go for it.<br/>4. Mud pie with ice cream- one great experience for people having sweet tooth. Highly recommend it.<br/>5. Double truffle pastry- was good enough. <br/>

Got multiple packets of different varieties of bread which had valid best before dates to consume well before on time. No idea what went wrong with Masala bread and Multigrain bread, both of them got moulds and fungus. I had to cut and reject maximum portions. I took these pictures on 31st August and you can see the dates well mentioned over their packets. It feels really bad when you pay bucks for something that even you cannot consume. Please make sure to mention best before dates which are actually valid so that atleast what the customer is paying, it goes worth.

I loved the cupcakes here . Overall a nice place with nice decor , but the prices are a bit on the higher side . So it wont be affordable for students as it is located in a students area . The pastrys are also very nice specially the chocolate ones . They have a variety of macaroons also of different flavors !!

It’s a tiny little cafe with around 6 table in prime location.<br/>Our order was- Pasta salad and green apple flavoured mocktail. <br/><br/>Salad was quite bland in taste and lacked cafe touch. It even lacked creamy texture thus making it difficult to gel with salad. Mocktail tasted like flavoured spirit/7-up, it was too taste.<br/><br/>In terms of cost, most of the dishes are over priced wrt the taste they offer.

Pastries were extremely average. The brownie bowl literally had so much chocolate sauce and tiny amount of cake. The double truffle was decent. The shakes were again average. But I have to say the behaviour of the owner was shockingly rude. We requested the AC to be switched off because our son had just recovered from the flu and the gentleman very rudely said other people might complain. The place was empty at the time. Also most places are little bit accommodating when kids are involved. Not so for this place. All in all even though I live closeby I will never order from this place again. The rest of staff is nice but the owner’s attitude is the reason I will recommend all my friends and family to never visit or order from this place again.

This bakery served quality food. I had chicken envelope which is one of my favourite, macroons and some of their customised cakes. The cakes are fresh and tastes good. This is a perfect place for ordering birthday cakes. Prices are bit on the higher side.

This is a small snaking place situated at the triangular park, near taratala. The interior decoration of this place is really awesome. The sitting arrangement can hold near about 20 people at a time. The foods are too good in taste. Experimental cakes and the platters are exclusively available here. The staffs are really polite and well behaved. Went for small evening snacks over here but ended up with a full course lovely dinner. It’s a beautiful experience dining here. Will be looking forward to visit again real soon. A beautiful cake and bakery shop in the heart of New Alipore! They serve amazing truffle cakes, chocolate cakes, pastries, patties etc. Their eggless cakes are good too and they also have home delivery service!

I had a very good memory attached with this confectionery shop. On my first wedding anniversary, one friend of mine sent a delicious Truffle cake from this shop. I kept it in mind and almost after four years, on my husband's birthday, I ordered one Double Truffle Cake from here. I must say that they have retained or should I say enhanced the quality of cake they sell.<br/>The cake was fresh and moist. It was tasty from the core. The chocolate ganache it had was soft as silk and it was having a texture like mousse. I am more than happy with the product.<br/>I ordered the cake from Zomato. It got delivered within half an hour. I called the shop to get the birthday message on the cake. The staff was very polite and professional. I was impressed with the handwriting of the birthday message. The cake was decorated with minimal decoration yet it was beautiful. It had a small pink macaroon on it which made the cake bright and luscious.<br/>Looking forward to order more cakes from this place.

One of the most famous and beautiful cake and bakery shop Chain in Kolkata situated in different different location with the several outlets..,,and none other the name is "Cocoa Bakery"..!!..I ordered a chocolate cake for my birthday purpose,, and delivered it to my home..,,the location of the outlet is to nearby from my home at new Alipore..!!! This is an eggless cake toppins with some beautiful and delicious chocolate flowers and chocolate cone..!!!...This an amazing and very tasty to have ,, and prices are also pocket friendly and average costing...!!! overall costing for two people is just RS. 500/-...!!!.. So all the cake lovers and pastry lovers out there please visit this place of your nearest branch for having some sweet and delicious items for yourself..!!!

I had ordered the chocolate cake from cocoa bakery which was supposed to be one pound but when we received it, it was smaller then a one pound cake I don’t know how! We complained also but nothing happened. The cakes are very good though.

Small,cosy and comfortable place located near dominos new alipore. It is just perfect for a group of friends to chill over coffee or shakes. They a variety of desserts to dig in. We tried the red velvet thickshake,brownie shake and lemon ice tea. I would suggest you order the desserts only. The main course is a bit too costly and there is not much to choose from.

Have been visiting this wonderful cozy go-to cafe near my house for the last one year. The door and the interiors are an absolute English cafe replica. The best to me till date is the Chicken spaghetti pasta in white sauce loaded with chicken, sweet corn, brocolli capsicum and zucchini. On request they added adequate mushroom (chargeable) which made the dish an absolute delight (Pocket pinch 410/-). The quality and quantity is sufficient for two people. The chicken sandwich is served with French fries and cabbage-carrot slices dipped in mayo. This is for one person during lunch and sufficient for two people during evening snacks.<br/>I have taken back home muffins and other cookies from multiple visits to this outlet and they are all wonderful.<br/><br/>Their coffee is one of the best in the city and can replace CCD anyday.<br/><br/>Their courteous staff, food and ambience together deserves a five star⭐

This is one of best place for some sweet tooth. The ambience is really really good. The cafe has been well decorated. It has place for big groups, small groups and also couples separately. It's a cosy little cafe in the lanes of New Alipore. The space is very limited, however that doesn't really matter given how good the food is and how warm the ambience is. The cold coffee is perfect. So are the pastas. What stand out are the desserts. The chocolate mudpie is to die for. You must taste it to know what I am talking about. The lemon meringue tart tastes great. The star of the show however was the tiramisu entremet. This coffee flavoured dessert is one of the most unique desserts ever and is highly recommended.

For some reason the chocolate donut has changed completely since the last time i ordered and now it doesn't look anything like the photo here and tastes very bad. It's so dry and leatery my jaws hurt.

I had ordered a milk bread which was okay..i had also ordered a nutell doughnut which did not even look like doughnut leave aside the taste of it.it was in d shape of a ball and was undercooked on the inside..very disappointing bcz usually the desserts a very tasty..n it cost me a whooping 80 rs but with no taste to it....

I have been a regular at this place since it's inception. The place, though small, has been decorated tastefully with lots of potted plants and an european touch to it. I have also been ordering my birthday cakes from this place since past 2 years which, by the way, have been spectacular. I recently visited this place and ordered their veg penne pasta in arrabiata sauce. It was simply amazing. I also ordered their Tiramisu pastry which I didn't like much because it was bitter. However, the macaroons with hazelnut filling more than made up for it.

Twice I have ordered from this cafe and both times have been disappointed. <br/>I live close by to the cafe (300mts maybe) and so the delivery boy doesn’t have an option but to deliver hot food. Yet today I received a Veg grilled sandwich which was soggy with dried up veggies inside and the sauce used inside not to be seen. Definitely didn’t seem freshly made. French fries which is always a delight to eat with a sandwich was soggy. Oh and the patty had mushrooms, this is after telling them I’m allergic they sent it. I chucked it for eating it meant landing up at an hospital! The only decent thing they did was the cold coffee and it’s packing. <br/>My earlier experience was worse for we ordered enchiladas again filled with mushrooms (after specifically mentioning about the allergy) and 2 loaves of garlic bread that was stale and had an expiry date of the same day, they actually had a terrible stench coming from it. After complaining, the manager had the food collected and insisted on a replacement but I refused. But he requested we give them one more try. <br/>Well Cocoa Bakery New Alipore branch, I did give you a chance today and the disappointment continues. Your staff doesnt care about allergies or reads comments. I had also called today and told the person no mushrooms and yet I received the order with it. I don’t have an option of zero or negative stars for that’s what I really want to give. Hope you take this feedback and have a serious talk with your staff and chef!

Oh this is one of my go-to place for chocolatey treats! I've tried their red velvet pastry, macroons, mudpie, mousse, brownie in a bowl, chocolate boat, Choco lava cake and the shakes.<br/>My favorite is the mudpie and lava cake. Must try for all.

Good environment , reasonable price , quality of the food is exquisite and they do have quiet diverse variety of pastries and savories . I had the chicken panini and a caffe latte . The panini was filling and sumptuous.

This is a lovely bakery cafe, one of my favourites.This is situated near new alipore. Even its a 5 minute walk from taratala Mint bus stand. The sitting area is small. This place serves whole lot of dishes starting from appetizer to desserts. I like the chocolate brownie and chicken puff. Puff is creamy and crunchy. They have a wide range of products to satisfy our sweet tooth. In main course i had chicken pasta in mixed sauce which i really liked. The burger and sanwich over there is so so. It was amazing being here a took macroons from here and they were too delicious. Yes luxury deserts they are heavenly .. the best ones I have eaten from Park Hyatt, Hyderabad.<br/>And definitely the shop was totally over loaded with so many delicious pastries...

I ordered a sandwich, although the filling was tasty, the bread was stale. And to my surprise I received only half a sandwich. I guess their standard order size is only one half of a sandwich.

Cocoa bakery has lovely pound cakes. It's the USP of this place because they decorate them so very well . The packaging is done well too so that the cake remains intact. I recommend purchasing the pound cakes here .

Tasted creamy and cheesy with chicken chunks so soft.<br/><br/>French Fries- Who says no to fries?<br/><br/>Chicken and Cheese Poppers- Filled with mozzarella cheese and chicken with Mexican spices. Must try.<br/><br/>Chicken Quesadillas- Wrapped with spinach and chicken inside. Different yet good.<br/><br/>Grilled Chicken with Prasley sauce- Rice served with chicken. It wasn't that good. I bought several pastries on Sunday between 12 noon to 1 pm and unfortunately all turned bad and rancid the next day itself. There was no chance of error on my side as I had kept in AC car immediately and upon reaching my residence it went into freezer.<br/><br/>I was very disappointed as I had bought this for my guests and it was so embarrassing. Please work on the quality rather than presentation itself

A very comfy cafe to chill out with friends and family. Good quality dishes are served and service is prompt. The only thing I felt is that some of the food items are way too expensive, for eg. the tacos that we took was around Rs300 for just 3 pieces. Just love the products they serve...must try the shakes and the donuts especially the Nutella donut. Also the fruit greatue is very nice. The ambiance is good and cosy. An ideal setup if u want to sit down and relax in a cafe cum bakery.

The staff does not listen easily and often ignore people. They don't clean up the table if you don't say and you are very unlucky if you're sitting in the lower passage because you always have to go to the counter to give your order, take bill and ask for clearing the table. The ambience is also not that good, you have to ask for tissue's too !. I am giving it 2 stars just because of its food which is quite good . The price is high compared to the quantity and the service can also be extremely slow.

Very very bad management. One of the items ordered din get delievered. And they took another one hour to deliver the same. Had specifically asked thrice to keep the dips seperate,but they ignored it.

They serve good looking beautiful cupcakes and macaroons. But the cupcakes are way too sweet. The red velvet cupcakes was grainy in texture and too sweet. You cannot have more than one. The frosting on the cupcakes are full of melted butter which melts on a slightest temperature change and in city like Kolkata, you expect expect the cupcakes delivered with frosting all over the cupcakes liners. Macaroons are the last thing you wish to pick up from this shop. Sugary and crunchy. No flavours other than sweet. Not recommended

The decor is lovely. It's cosy and warm and you may find your favourite corner empty if you r lucky. The food Is pretty good. The staff is extrmy humble and friendly Chicken in red wine sauce is my particular favourite. Also, choc ganache is the go to item for all choc lovers. The interplay between molten choc and vanilla ice cream makes you want for more. Nice place to have conversations in smaller groups or large or even if you want to spend some me time all by yourself

Ordered via zomato today.the pound chocolate cake and chicken tetrazzini was great.however the rest of the experience was terrible.chocolate mousse was stale.atleast check your items before sending them out for delivery.i paid cash on delivery and just to be polite and because this type of thing has not happened before ,i did not check the food in front of the delivery guy only to realise that one of the items was missing.i called the restaurant repeatedly which went unanswered and finally after confirming the order and the address they said the item will be delivered.however after 1 hour i called the delivery guy and was informed that the restaurant had told him they had contacted me so the order need not be delivered.surprisingly i never got a call from the place.if this is how you guys do your deliveries then maybe you should just stop.because this kind of service is just unacceptable.

Cake was not good

Starting with the dessert good in taste but it’s not wow.. savory dishes it’s delicious.. beverages good but overall everything is little pricey!!

One of the best places to go for when you need baked goods. ordered the tiramisu cake and can't praise it enough. much recommended. ❤️
