I had really a great time over here. Food is amazing and very reasonable. 2 minutes of walking distance from Maidan metro station. Service needs to be lil bit prompt but staffs are generous.

College gave over early today,so we decided to head to Drive Inn at 2:30. It's just a few minutes walk from my college which is The Bhawanipur Education Society (almost 21min) and a 5min walk from Maidan metro gate no.2. The place has both indoors and outdoors. We generally prefer outdoors but due to the scorching heat,we chose indoors 😂😂.Well, the indoors can accommodate around 20-25 people, all over probably, the whole restaurant can accommodate around 100-150 people and also has a conference hall. The service is too slow,so they need to work on it. Overall, the food was good and the experience okayish.

Nice place to grab a quick snack. We ordered egg sandwiches and fish fingers. I wanted to try the grilled fish but they didn't have it at that time. Nevertheless, the sandwich was very good. The fish fingers were served with mayonnaise and tasted good, but something felt amiss🤔. The missing piece turned out to be our good old Bengali mustard sauce or 'kasundi' 🤩. Really brought out the flavor of the fish.

This is really a nice place to make your hunger satisfied. Their Hydrabadi Chicken Biriyani was amazing with the flavoured chutney they gave. Also the beverage'Fire and Ice' was amazingly ttasted though at last it makes your mouth on fire🔥. In a sentence, I love this place.

*The Drive Inn* Love the natural ambience... Small hut type ambience gathering with friends and family... Some adda or get together... Yes you can feel all this things in this place... They serve you Chinese & North Indian... I tried the North Indian items... Starters were Lassi full refreshing then Chicken tikka, chicken seekh kabab & fish finger... All starter were delicious... Now the main course were chicken hyderabadi biriyani, kadhai chicken, chicken hyderabadi, panner butter masala, butter Nun & chicken thali... Biriyani was absolutely delicious... All were so good but chicken hyderabadi recommended the authentic taste & the chicken thali that was the real deal... Thali had chicken, pulao, achar, dal Makhani, Nun & papd just perfect & yummy... The lunch was end with chocolate Ice cream... The mukhsuddi part was unique & beautiful... Service was good & price was pocket friendly... What are you waiting for just drive in & enjoy...

This place is located near Maidan metro.I was here on a Sunday afternoon. The place gives a very different vibe considering they have both outdoor and indoor seating. They serve both Indian and Chinese food at pocket friendly prices. They also have Thalis in their menu which is definitely noteworthy. The staffs tries their best to provide with a good service. Few of the recommended items are-Lassi,Chicken Thali,Hyderabadi Biryani,Paneer Butter Masala,Butter Naan.

Situated in the centre of the city around 100 meters from Maidan metro gate no. 2, it's a good place for a gathering of around 40-50 people. Awesome food, they have got a hall where you can have a small programme. I'm giving one star less for they charged us for 50 people however we were only 22 saying that that's the minimum no. we charge for. But then we acted smart and all took one food packet each. Check my picture below with food packet. Haha

If it's value for money and fast service you are looking for, this is the place. We often have team lunches here. The food is spicy, service is good. You can sit in an AC dining hall (capacity 24) or outside. Like the mughlai and Chinese items.

Went to drive inn to try out their Rice and Garlic Chicken Gravy and I loved the taste. It was subtle, the spices were perfectly mixed and overall it was a nice experience for us.

Ambience:
Have both indoor and outdoor setting.

Budget: Very pocket friendly!

*NO GST*

Yes! You have read it right.
So go there for any birthday treat or any bigger treat when you are running of money!

We had:

1.Veg Pulao

2. Chicken tikka masala

(The amount of these two dishes is much more for two people and taste awesome)

3.American Chopsuey (it tastes more delicious unlike many renowned restaurants serving the same dish )

Eat well and live well!
I had been here for lunch a few months back..
It is a cozy place with quite nice outdoor seating... Although it isn't very decorated but it gives off warm and homely vibes..

The food here was good, but nothing extraordinary. the quantity and quality were both adequate and doesn't burn a hole in a student's pocket! 😅

The only complaint I have about this place is regarding the behaviour of the staff... the waiters most probably have their tables divided and if one asked any other waiter (other than your assigned waiter) for something, they behaved quite rudely...

Hence the 3 star...

Suggestion: if you're going to DriveInn for lunch, do go early... it (indoor seating area) tends to get crowded during lunch hours as it's located centrally in an office area!

Visited this wonderful minimally decorated inn today. It is situated just opposite to The 42 , which is 2 minutes walk from Maidan metro station gate no -2 .
Key points about this place should be a large menu, affordable prices and great taste, which makes it popular among youths.
The place has an outdoor sitting facilities too which unfortunately we could not avail due to rain .
Now coming to the food, we had
DRAGON CHICKEN- Tasted great!
CHEESE BALLS - Blunt , they couldn't make it properly , should have used string cheese and a more flavourful crust.
PAN FRIED MIXED NOODLES - Noodles came covered with a thick layer of veges and thick chunks of chicken and prawn in brown sauce. Surely a must try!
PAN FRIED DRY CHILI CHICKEN- Chicken tasted good but the pan fried gravy was the same as that of the dragon chicken.
PINAPPLE BLOSSOM- A very refreshing sweet mocktail with bites of pinapple.
Service was quick and friendly too.
I think they can make a little improvement in their infrastructure as it seemed a bit old and outdated to me considering the customers they were getting. Food quality was upto the mark!!
Heard about this place, which has minimal decor & offers great gastronomic experience amongst the food lovers of Kolkata.
We had chicken & mushroom soup, veg pulao (as they were closed for tandoori items) & chicken lababdaar for our late lunch. Soup was okayish but the veg pulao tasted nice & was bright & colorful. Chicken was tender & well-cooked, with creamy gravy & smoothness in texture.
The thing I liked the most was what they offered as condiment, a variation of candies, pan masala etc.
Only one thing which was definitely lacking, was their inadequate washroom (?), it should be taken care of.
Sangita Bhowmick

Food is good, ambience is also good. They provide both indoor and outdoor seating facility. Quality and quantity are good. I had Chinese and I loved it.

Horrible banquet i'm at this momemt present here for a conference it is one of the most horrible banquet i have ever seen. Out of 3 i think only 1 ac is working. And they surely need to improve the ambience and washroom.

This place was a sudden plan and a treat from Subhanjali Dev! We had:

Crispy Chicken: A beautiful lightly tossed finger sized chicken pieces in tasty sauces. A wonderful start to the meal.

Pan Fried Chicken: This one had chicken slices and was tossed in sauces with bell peppers. Amazingly the two dishes were completely different flavoured and I enjoyed both of them.

Three Flavour Hakka Noodles: The three flavours were Normal Hakka, Garlic and Schezwan. The noodles were simple and tasty but nothing out of the world.

Mixed Fried Rice: A tasty fried rice with lots of meat and prawn pieces.

Hot Garlic Fish: And a great accompaniment with the noodles and rice. The gravy was sweet and spicy and I absolutely loved it.

Overall I loved the food quality and quantity at the rate in which they provided. The person who served us was really well behaved. There's outdoor seating as well as AC seating. What just won my heart was that big bowl of mouth freshners post food.

I must say, it is one of the best pocket friendly restaurants in kolkata, I have ever came across.
First of all, I love the ambience. It offers kind of a cafe-type experience with its decoration and open air siitting arrangement. Though they have a seperate A/C area, we preferred the open air atmosphere.
Its very easy to locate. Just walk past the Maidan metro keeping an eye on your left side. You will find this place.
The service is a bit slow. Because probably they have very less number of waiters.
Now when it comes to food, its a delight..
We ordered Chicken fried momo, american choupsey and chicken pizza.
Each of the three items were beyond expectations.
Momos were heavily stuffed, and the bonus is the sauce. It tasted amazing.
American choupsey was perfectly made, with a poached egg on top.
I have never expected a 8" pizza can be so much tasty, with a pocket friendly price..
As a whole, I would definitely reccomend thia place..

Location- 5/5
Ambience- 5/5
Service- 4/5
Food-5/5
Price-5/5

After a movie date with my sister,we headed to this restaurant for our belly cravings and being huge foodies,we tried out 9 dishes of this place. Well, I must say we were a bit misguided by the huge crowd out there as some business conference was held, giving us a impression of the place being one of the best in the area. But sadly enough,it was quite the opposite, infact we witnessed two regular customers shouting at them for their regular, usual slow service.

Here's a list of what we tried

*Starters*
✔️Chicken Tandoori full
✔️Chicken Schezwan Momo
✔️Fish Finger

*Main course*
✔️Garlic Chicken
✔️Chicken Butter Masala (Boneless)
✔️Chicken Tikka Masala
✔️Mixed Hakka Noodles
✔️Drive inn special fried rice

*Desserts*
✔️Fried icecream

Overall experience was very bekar, not at all upto the expectation. Very overhyped place.

Food is amazing and very reasonable. It's just 2 minutes of walking from Maidan metro station and you're all set for a pocket friendly lunch! Drive in serves good-value vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The thalis are tasty & value for money, I was simply amazed and totally love this place.

I ate alot so the list is long,

For starters :

1) Fish Fingers - The fish fingers were crispy but a pinch of salt which was sprinkled from the top made it unsavory.

2) Dragon Chicken - I loved it. Dragon chicken made in piquant tartare sauce tasted tangy and spicy both at the same time cooked with bell pepper, onions, tomato and topped with scallion.

3) Chilli Chicken Dry - A must try starter.

4) Chicken schezwan momo - Schezwan Momo's we're so good in taste, it was spicy and delicious.

For Main course :

1) Drive Inn special fried rice - Fried was good.

2) Chicken Hot Garlic - The gravy was so tasty and spicy, this was my favourite.

3) Schezwan Chicken- Full of spices in a vibrate colour tasted so good.
4) Paneer Thali & Chicken Thali - This is the ultimate saver thali.

For desserts :

1) Fried Ice cream: Won't recommend this because the outer layer was thick and wasn't crispy.

2) Tutti Fruity: Tutti Fruity is a colourful ice cream containing various chopped fruits and dry fruits.
@driveinn serves creamy vanilla ice cream mixed with chopped grapes, pomegranate, banana and garnished with dry fruits and syrup on the top. ❤️

For drinks :

1) Black currant shake

They have both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements and the dishes are really good in taste. All the dishes we had were equally good and their thalis are must try. You can get veg thali at rs140 and it's amazing.

Highly recommended

About 5 minutes walk from Maidan Metro Station(Gate No: 2) the place is very basic yet cozy. The ambience is not so stunning but there is both outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. It can easily accommodate both large and small groups. The Drive Inn can be a good to go for office goers as it is very pocket friendly especially when compared to most other restaurants surrounding the area.

The chefs are versatile and specialised in the arena of various cuisines.

Let's check out what I had there:

*Chinese starters*

1.Chilli chicken Dry- Like the serving dish, the item was also cute and absolutely lovable.
2.Chicken Schezwan Momo- A treat to tongue!
3.Dragon Chicken- I loved the chicken pieces. The spices was very consistently blended with the boneless soft chicken pieces and veggies.
4.Fish Finger- Served with mayonnaise, these fries are delicious with crisp in outside and soft inside.

*Thalis*

1. Chicken Thali
2. Paneer Thali

Thalis are available for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. These pocket friendly Thalis are contribute more to the perfection of the place for office goers and students as well!

*Rice and Noodles*

1. Mixed Hakka Noodles- Decent amount of prawn chicken are mixed with delicious noodles and topped with a sunny side up. One plate is enough for two individuals.
2. Drive inn special fried rice- I loved the presentation. Ever thought that Friedrice can served in the shapes of heart or fish?
One plate is enough for two individuals.

*Chinese Mains*
1. Hot Garlic Chicken
2. Schezwan Chicken

Pair any of these with your rice or noodles and enjoy your meal.

*Shakes*
1. Blackcurrant Shake : The shake was thick in consistency and absolutely soothing to tongue. But I personally found it a bit more sweetish!

*Dessert*
1. Fried icecream- The fried shell was made out of bread which made it soggy. Not recommended!
2. Tutty Fruity- Fruits like white grapes, banana, pomegranate is blended with vanilla flavoured ice cream. Being a fruit lover I found this dessert toothsome. A must have!

The staffs are well-behaved and I experienced an 'A' class service.

It was a nice experience visiting the place. The place is very cosy 5-6 minutes walk from Maidan metro. One can totally park the car outside and walk in for a yummy experience. The open air sitting arrangement is pretty attractive. Coming to the food, we had

1.Chilli chicken Dry- (recommended)
2.Chicken Schezwan Momo- (recommend)
3.Dragon Chicken-
4.Fish Finger-

(Totally recommend)

1. Chicken Thali-
2. Paneer Thali-

1. Mixed Hakka Noodles-
2. Drive inn special fried rice-

1. Hot Garlic Chicken
2. Schezwan Chicken

1. Blackcurrant Shake

1. Fried icecream- (recommended)
2. Tutty Fruity-

This place is very simple and basic yet very beautiful. There are both outdoor and air conditioned seating arrangements.

For starters we had:

1) Fish Fingers - The fish fingers were good. But a bit salty for my taste.

2) Dragon Chicken - This was the best starter among all. (highly recommended)

3) Chilli Chicken Dry - I loved it. This is also a must try. (recommended)

4) Chicken schezwan momo - The momos were really hot and spicy. (recommended)

For the mains we had:

1) Drive Inn special fried rice (recommended)
2) Chicken Hot Garlic (recommended)
3) Schezwan Chicken
4) Paneer Thali
5) Chicken Thali - I loved all the items in this thali except the pulao. (recommended)

For desserts:

1) Fried Ice cream: The outer layer was thick and it lacked crispness. Hence, average.

2) Tutti Fruity: This was yummy. A prefect dessert to beat this heat. (Recommended)

Hence, we had a great meal.

The name "The Drive inn" is an interesting name and it is located 5 to 6 minutes from maidan metro. It has indoor and outdoor sitting arrangement. The outdoor is Spacious as compared to the indoor one. The ambience of the place is soothing and the staffs are well behaved.
Coming to the food I ordered starters like Dragon chicken, Fish finger, Schzewan Momo, chilli chicken Dry. Among them I like Dragon Chicken which was presented in a nicely manner and the chicken was juicy and soft. Fish Finger was not able to fulfill my expectations even I tasted with Mayonnaise. Schzewan Momo was spicy and it heated my tongue. Overall the starter was average
We took Chicken Thali and Paneer Thali in the main course. The quantity was sufficient but the Pulao tasted average other than that the Nun was good and chicken piece was good in Size.
Then came the side dish which I liked the most. I was satisfied with the taste of Hot Garlic Chicken and Schezwan Chicken. This two cuisine was able to satisfy my appetite.
Lastly I ordered from the dessert section such as Tutty Fruity and Fried Ice cream. Tutty Fruity was good in taste as it is a mixture of different fruits and most importantly I like the flavour of the ice cream. Fried ice cream was disappointing in taste and the garnishing has to be improved.
Before ending my meal I ordered a Blackcurrant Shake which was nicely presented and taste was quite nice. If the shake was less salty then it would taste into a different level.
My overall experience was mixed, some food was good and others were average. Anyway I liked the hospitality of the staffs.
This place is located in Chowringhee, Middleton Street and as the same suggests, it is indeed a 'drive-in' place. This place has both outside as well as indoor seating. the indoor seating is air-conditioned. I would say the outside seating is way more spacious and comfortable than the interior. Overall the food is good. Starters are amazing whereas the main course dishes are ok.

SHAKES:

Blackcurrant Shake:

A typical blackcurrant flavour infused in this creamy, frothy drink. A good refreshment for the summer season. A little too sweet but delicious nonetheless.

STARTERS:

Chilli Chicken Dry:

Spicy, spicy! This chicken preparation has won hearts given the way that it has been presented and the way that it tastes. Crispy, soft chicken marinated with signature chilli chicken sauce. Highly recommend.

Chicken Schezwan Momo:

This dish is just like any other schezwan momo would taste. Mild spicy and good taste.

Dragon Chicken:

This red chicken preparation is the mixture of spicy and tangy. Burst of flavours With each bite. Would definitely recommend as a chicken lover.

THALIS:

Paneer Thali:

The set meal comes with rice, salad, cottage cheese (paneer), naan and papad. The main attraction of this set mail is the rice and paneer preparation.

The rice is perfectly cooked and has a faint aroma.

The paneer is to die for. The preparation along with the gravy that it is cooked in, the ensemble is just something that one would keep on asking for more and more. Highly highly recommend.

Main Course:

Mixed Hakka Noodles:

This noodles Is a mixture of different kinds of meats such as eggs chicken and prawns. Just like any other Chinese dish, it tastes good.

Drive Inn Special Fried Rice:

The fried rice again is a combination of eggs chicken and prawn. Rice is perfectly cooked with a little crisp. Beautifully presented.

Hot Garlic Chicken:

A classic Chinese dish. Small chunks of tender chicken cooked in the signature hot garlic sauce.

Schezwan Chicken:

Another well-known chicken side dish. Small pieces of chicken marinated and cooked in their signature style schezwan sauce.

DESSERT:

Fried Ice-cream:

Not much of a crowd puller. This dish feels more like somebody added a coating over when will ice cream and topped it off with cashews. Okay to taste. Nothing special.

Tutty Fruity:

Again a summer favourite, this dessert is a mixture of various kinds of fruits mixed with vanilla ice cream and topped with syrup. Good to taste.

This one is a lovely place with both outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. They serve Chinese as well as Indian cuisines. They speacialize in a variety of Veg and Non Veg Thalis starting from Rs.165 so make sure you check them out!
We ordered several chinese starters like Chilly Chicken Dry, Pan Fried Chilly Fish and Chicken Fried Momos which were pretty decent but what actually stole the show was their Thali! The Chicken Thali contained Pulao, Naan, Daal Makhani, Chicken gravy, Salad, Papad and Achaar. The Veg Thali had Butter Paneer in place of the Chicken Gravy. Overall, its a nice place for food, and I highly recommend their Thalis!!!

So few days back I was with my friends over here for lunch. It can easily be located as it is on the opposite foot of the main gate of The 42 or you can take a walk of 2 mins to this place from maidan metro station. They have two seating arrangements here. One is indoor with AC and the other is open air with almost a capacity of 40 people outdoor. Coming to food in starters we had Chilli Chicken Dry, Pan Fried Chilly Fish and Schezwan Chicken Momos in which I perfonally found the momos to be tasty and also the chilli chicken dry was worth it.
In main course I really liked their chicken thali and the serving is sufficient for one person. My friend has the veg paneer thali which was quite good as well. The dal makhani in the thali was superb and also the chicken serving in it was good.
I also tried their special fried rice with chicken in manchurian style which was quite a good combination for me. Their special fried rice has a poached egg on the top.
And in dessert we had darsaan with ice cream which was quite good.
Overall I will say according to the price their food is good. And also their quantity is really good.

The Drive Inn is a casual dining restaurant, specialising in Chinese and North Indian cuisines, including fast food and others of the sort. This place is located at a few steps ahead of and opposite to the Maidan Metro Station, and hence easy to locate. It provides for provisions of both outdoor and indoor seating, making it one of the unique eateries in it's locality.

The food here is of good quality and quantitatively fulfilling. The service is helpful. We tried the Chinese cuisine and our experience is as follows:

Starters:

➡️Chilly Chicken dry: The chicken is soft, well presented, the coating is none too thick, spice quotient is on the right end, very enjoyable.
Taste: 5/5.
Pocket Pinch: 180 bucks for 8 pieces.

➡️Pan Fried Chilly Fish: The coating is wholesome, however the fish inside could have been cooked better since it still imparts a slight fishy stench.
Taste: 3.5/5.
Pocket Pinch: 240 bucks for 8 pieces.

➡️Chicken Schezwan Momos: The momos are thin and compact, the filling inside is smooth and very tasty and on the whole well worth a try.
Taste: 4/5.

Main Course:

➡️Mixed Hakka Noodles: The noodles are standard with fair amounts of fillings, enjoyable as a main.
Taste: 4/5.
Pocket Pinch: 180 bucks.

➡️Sliced Chicken with Baby corn and Mushroom: This comes in a white transparent gravy, the chicken pieces are minced well, could be improved on the taste quotient.
Taste: 4/5.
Pocket Pinch: 190 bucks.

➡️Drive Inn Special Fried Rice: This comes in a wholesome portion, with a sunny side up spread on top of it. Has an endearing flavour, served hot and worth a try.
Taste: 4.5/5.
Pocket Pinch: 200 bucks.

➡️ Chicken in Manchurian style: This comes in a reddish-brown gravy, is none too chilly, but sweet and spicy and goes well with the mains.
Taste: 5/5.
Pocket Pinch: 180 bucks.

We also tried their extravagant ➡️Chicken Thali which comes for 200 bucks each and their
➡️Paneer Thali which comes for 175 bucks each.
The platters come with very soft and and tender Naans, Pulao, Daal, Achar, Papad, the respective Chicken/Paneer and salad.

Dessert:

➡️Darsaan with Ice-cream: The Darsaan was soft yet crispy just the way I like it, and the vanilla ice-cream had choco chips and chocolate sauce spread over it, hence very enjoyable.
Taste: 5/5.
Pocket Pinch: 115 bucks.

On the whole, this place is ideal and affordable for a wholesome meal or even a snack near Maidan Metro, and serves for a fine experience.

The drive inn restaurant is situated in Middleton street, a 2 minute walking distance from the maidan metro.
What makes the restaurant different is , both indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements are available ..
I tried their chinese menu which is awesome in one word.
From pan fried fish to chili chicken dry, from schezwan chiken momo to drive inn special mixed fried rice , each and every item was delicious and satisfying your tastebud.
Another pair of interesting food items were,
The paneer thali (Rs249)
The chicken thali (Rs299)
One thali contains so many items and is enough for one person.
The only thing I would suggest for a corrective action is, The service should be a little fast.
And the rest of everything is fine.
Go and try their special veg and non veg thali also.
Which are damn good.
Drive inn is a place that is not new to me..I had visited this place in my school days and recently got the chance of visiting it again and to my utter surprise their foood is still as delicious as they were a few years ago! I was extremely happy as i got nostalgic about the food and the ambience. We were served with 3 starters and 4 main course dishes which were basically chinese, also i would like to mention and strongly recommend everyone to try their Thali. We had ordered the paneer and Chicken thalis which contained pulao, dalmakhni, achar, a chicken/paneer dish and naaan.
The only thing i would like to point out is that they have very limited amount of staff and service took long and they should look into this aspect and find a solution. Otherwise, if you are near Maidan or park street and are looking for a place with good food at a reasonable place then this place could definitely be into consideration! Cheers to the Team!

Then came Chicken Sweet Corn soup and Hot and Sour Chicken soup followed by jaw dropping Sechewan chicken momo ! It was bliss. Then some Margherita pizza. But unfortunately we didn't got the chance to taste it's Hot gulab jamun. May have better luck next time.

This restaurant is one of the most under rated restaurant in Maidan area. Being there since 1993, this restaurant serves some mind blowing food which will leave you awestruck that too at a very considerable price range. Few days back when I was near Maidan, this restaurant happened to catch my attention. What I really loved about this place is their Outdoor seating area untill I tasted their food. On tasting their food, I realised that the outdoor seating gives an equal competition to their marvellous Chinese food. On my visit, I tried out the following items:

Soups:

1. Chicken manchow soup- It falls under Indo-Chinese cuisine. I loved the way it was made. Thick, soup served with manchow. It was slightly on the spicier side.

Starters:

1. Chilli Chicken Dry- Absolutely loved this dish. 8 pieces of boneless dry Chilli chicken elegantly made served in a leaf shaped dish. I really loved the plating of this dish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

2. Pan fried Chilly fish- Chilly Fish tasted really good and again the plating was fabulously.

3. Chicken Schezwan Momos- This was the showstopper of the afternoon. Fried Momos stirred over Schezwan sauce and garnished with Coriander and Basil leaves gave me a foodgasmuc experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Main course:

1. Chicken in manchurian style- Liked the way it was served. I must say that all the dishes looked beautiful which made the food look instagrammable. Soft, succulent pieces of tender chicken which went really well with the Noodles and the Fried Rice.

2. Mixed Hakka noodles- Noodles are a must have for me, being a noodle lover myself. Egg, chicken and prawns were added in plenty which uplifted the taste of the dish.

3. Drive in special Fried rice- The dish looked picture perfect. The fried rice was served with a poached egg on top and garnishing done fabulously. Also, it just exactly the way it looked, i.e Outstanding! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Dessert:
1. Darsaan with ice cream - Hot Darsaan was served with Vanilla Ice cream on top served with Chocolate sauce and Choco Chips. A perfect dessert after a hearty meal.

The quantities of all the dishes were admirable and can easily be shared between 2 people. Also, the prices are really pocket friendly. I am definitely going to visit this restaurant soon.

This restaurant is located near Maidan Metro. The best thing aboutt this place is its open dining area which made me fall in love with the restaurant and also not to forget the lipsmacking food they serve. On my visit, I tried out their Dry Chilli Chicken, Chicken Schezwan Momos, Drive inn special fried rice, Mixed hakka Noodles and Hot garlic chicken. All the dishes were immaculately made and the taste lingered in my mouth for a long time. Special mention must be made to the Dry Chilli Chicken and the Chicken Schezwan Momos. They are highly recommended. Also the drive inn special fried rice came with a poached egg on top alongwith very beautifully done garnishing. We ended having Darsaan with Ice cream which again tasted fabulous. The prices here are also pocket friendly. Had a great afternoon with my family here. This is a hidden gem near Maidan metro which very few people are aware of. I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit.

A homely restaurant amidst the busy corporate lanes of Chowringhee. We came across this place while strolling down the lane in search of some good food, the cute outdoor seating area drew my attention and we settled in for a quick lunch.

We started with CHICKEN MANCHOW SOUP. I really loved the spicy-tangy flavor of the broth, it had generous quantity of chicken bits and some fried crispy noodles on top.

Moving on, we had CHICKEN SCHEZWAN MOMOS (RECOMMENDED). The Pan Fried Momos were packed with a flavorful chicken mix, without unnecessary fillers. PS- you may find it a little too spicy.

For main course we had MIXED HAKKA NOODLES with HOT GARLIC CHICKEN. I really liked the combination of the two. The noodles weren't overcooked and they put generous quantities of chicken, eggs and bell peppers in it.

Ended the meal with some DARSAAN and VANILLA ICE CREAM. To be honest it wasn't best Darsaan I've had, but weren't too bad either. Loved the fact that it wasn't very sweet.

The ambience would be better, if modified a little and they have an open kitchen which looks a little bad. However I liked the soothing cosiness of the place.

The service too, is a little slow, since they had only one person attending all the tables.

Would I visit again?
- Maybe, if I ever wish to grab some lunch in budget.

Had dropped in with my mom and her friends for a quiet lunch after shopping.

We had Soups:

1. Chicken sweet corn soup
2. Chicken manchow soup (my favorite out of the two)

Starters:
1. Chilli Chicken Dry - soft yet tasty
2. Pan fried Chilly fish - crispy
3. Chicken Schezwan Momos - delectable
4. Fish and Chips - always my preferred one.
Main course:

1. Chicken in manchurian style - good
2. Hot Garlic chicken - served hot and was good.
3. Mixed Hakka noodles- portions were perfect.
4. Chicken Schezwan fried rice- had the right mix of spices.
5. Drive in special Fried rice- with the chicken prawn and egg this was yum.

Dessert:
1. Darsaan with ice cream - always a favorite to end the meal with.

Overall I loved my lunch and had a great time. The outdoor seating arrangement is something so cool and unique.

Had a delightful time with the mixture of nature amidst the busy life of city. In a busy place like Middleton Street this place is what gave me and my friends to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Food was great, foot long sandwich was delicious, believe me if it was not for my friends I would have reordered it several times but would have missed the opportunity to try their cheese balls which just melted in the mouth. Other items were great too. Manager's behavior was very friendly. Most of all great place to hangout while having food, if you are a peaceful person looking for peace, serenity and tranquillity amidst the ocean of cars and buses this is the place which keeps it all natural.

The food here is just awesome. We ordered for a not-very-popular combination of Biriyani, Veg fried rice & Chicken in Oyster sauce 😅 The Biriyani is so different form the standard biriyani, & so delicious. The staff is extremely friendly. The place has an indoor as well as outdoor area, which looks very minimal, but I indeed loved the atmosphere.

I have rated this restaurant 1 star, for the insincere service and rude behaviour of the manager. He was absolutely unwelcoming of us and misbehaved when asked about the bad taste of food. The food here is nowhere near tasty and actually pretty dull. Ordered a cheese chicken sandwich - got served just some buttered breads with bits of chicken in it. Even an engineering hostelite guy can make better sandwiches than that in 30 rupees.

The good part I liked about this restaurant is that the ambience was great to hang out with friends...
My friend and I ordered Steamed momos, fried momos and French fries...
The momos were okay, it was not that oily so I liked that part but it was a little bland and not flavourful...
The chutney was good but it was on a sweeter side, if it was spicy, it would have been great.
The most disappointing part was soup...
It was just water with black pepper salt, no flavor at all.
It was good enough to open up cold of someone, more like "kaada"...
I liked the French fries though but I would suggest to make a little more crispier...
Overall the ambience was good but needs a little improvement on food part... :)

"Khane ka batwara ho rha tha, toh non-vegetarians ko mile chicken, pork, fish, etc, etc aur mere hisse me aai PANEER" 😂😂
For all the Shakahari people out there, presenting to you: Khadai Paneer.
Have to say it was value for money. Could have been a bit more spicy.
If you are willing to compromise a bit on the service, then this is the place you should head to, to satisfy all your hunger pangs.
Rating: 3.5/5
.
.
.
.
.
.
#thelonelyeaters
#paneer #kadhai #foodieforlife #foodaddict #instafood #foodgasm #foodstagram #kolkatafoodbloggers #kolkata #india #indianfood #masala #kadhaipaneer

As the name, it has a nice parking and also resale preowned cars. Perfect location and nicely designed with AC sitting cabin with a banquet hall. Good lunch/dinner at reasonable price multicuisine IndianChineseItalian. Also variety of Thali available.

This restaurant is very unhygienic. They had kept an expired hand wash to use. Food was not cooked properly. There was a foul smell and they made us wait for an hour. I am more concerned about their unhygienic environment .

Horrible food and horrible drinks. The Blue Lagoon tasted like cough syrup dissolved in soda water. And there was an explosion of garlic in the chicken lasagna! Left me with a very bitter and garlicky taste. I couldn't get the food down my throat! Get better!
Tanmay Parasramka
Stupid staff. Kept us waiting for an hour. Still didn't get the food. And when we asked to cancel, they happily cancelled and didn't even apologise for the delay.

It is one of those places where you end up when other restaurants on your priority are full on the given day. Having said that, its really not that bad.
Ambience ~ There is nothing much to say. It has a very simple outlook with the option of AC and Non AC seating.
Service ~ The staff were well behaved. The service was prompt. 3.5/5 for cleanliness.
Food ~ We had ordered egg fried rice, veg hakka noodles, hot garlic chicken, chilli chicken and veg manchurian. The taste of all the items were okay, not bad at all but nothing which makes it stand out.
Pocket pinch ~ Very reasonable.
This is a great place in many ways. Completely pocket friendly and affordable, great food, generous quantities and aesthetic ambiance. Good hygiene and decent service as well, so don't go by the negative comments here. It's a must try! :)

Practically nothing is good about this place.
No matter how innovative you try to be, the primary factor in any food joint remains the quality of the dishes. You don't necessarily have to include a lot of variety, but whatever you serve, must live up to the expectations.
The Drive Inn, unfortunately, fails to satisfy its customers' gastronomic drives big time!
The food quality is terrible. The soups can be jolly well renamed as a bowl of boiled ginger. The fried dishes reek of oil. Everything is perfectly and divinely BAD.
Coming to the ambience, they had tried to bring a balance between outdoor sitting and a little AC hall, but when there are flies everywhere, it hardly matters anyway.
Service as far as my single visit could judge, was pretty fast since it was almost empty. The staff was courteous.
The only profitable thing about the place is that it doesn't charge GST, but then again, who wants to eat unpalatable food even at a low cost!! 😒

I am a very old visitor at this joint. Was pretty cool hangout place earlier. But food quality had deteriorated much in recent times.Disappointed to see a good joint loose its charm.

It is a nice place to spend long hours over a good meal.
Long hours because that is the time they take to serve your order.. And good meal because it is made fresh and tastes well.
I would recommend to go for snacks when the crowd is less and sun has set. Sit in the outdoors with friends and order tea and pakodas. It will be a good value for money.
Their pasta is also nice.
Hunger Strikes (Abhishek Jain)
The staff don't have the decency to talk politely. Even the manager was rude. And they wont change the plates at the request of the customer. Rude af. I have never visited any place as bad as Drive Inn.

I visited here with one of my friends at about 3.30PM.
We were really greeted very well by the staff here. We sat in the outside area (there are fans available).
We ordered 2 dishes :
Baby Corn - Was really yum.
Chilli Garlic Noodles - Aaye haaye.. Kitna mast tha !!

The two dishes were really tasty and it was worth the price, actually Kam rupye mei kafi acha mila.

I don't know why this place has so much low rating. It is a good place to hangout with friends !

The service was horrible. I had gone with a friend, we had ordered the chilli garlic fried rice and crispy chilli babycorn. We waited for more than 40 minutes. When we decided to leave because we couldn't wait any longer, the staff didn't seem to care nor did they apologise. This kind of service is an immediate put off.

Located right beside the Middleton Chambers, and some 2mins walk from the sadan metro station (jeevandeep gate)
The place is a nicely set area. With outdoor and indoor seating. Cleanliness isn't an issue either. Frankly I wouldn't really recommend this place to anyone as such. The food wasn't at all up to the mark.
We ordered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
To be honest, the veg/non-veg Manchow soup and chilli chicken (dry) were the best among the lot. It was tasty and we were just about satisfied by it.
Besides, the Cantonese noodles were okayish but on the sweeter side (I don't know why they did so?) , butter garlic chicken fried rice could have been more enhanced with the flavours as said. Also, initially we ordered for Singapore rice noodles and veg manchurian, which werent available.
So we set for schezwan noodles which was pathetic. There weren't any schezwan-like flavours in it, rather they tasted like boiled noodles tossed in indian spices. So bad!
Now, Chilli paneer And crispy chilli babycorn. The former had a good taste but then I doubt the quality of paneer(cottage cheese) they used; was hard and rubbery. The latter, after all such disastrous dishes seemed edible.

Please note that there was a shortage or staff as well. Because not only were they taking a lot of time in serving us but even on calling for some help we were attended after 10-15 mins. @

Drive Inn is a feel good place located in the heart of the city. The entry is good and leaves you with a pleasant feeling. There was only one man to serve us so I feel there's probably a shortage of staff. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors.
Coming to the food, we can categorise it into vegetarian and non-vegetarian. I'll start with the veg food, we ordered the manchow soup which was good. The noodles, chilli paneer and fried rice weren't good. There was no salt. We ordered Crispy Chilli Baby Corn which was okay. Coming the non-vegetarian food, we ordered Chilli chicken dry, butter chicken garlic fried rice, pan fried chicken noodles. The chilli chicken was legit tasty, the noodles were good, a little sweet but the fried rice wasn't good.
However, the restaurant is dirt cheap considering the amount of food we ordered and our stomachs were full. I'll suggest them to work on their veg food.

Hi, I have come here for lunch but it seems I have to wait till dinner. It's been one hour, me and my friend is waiting, starving. On requesting the waiter with his rude tone told us that he won't be able to come repeatedly. Food wise it is moderate to good but service is pathetic.
Raina Ganguly
Must try the chicken lasagna Florentine .. It is really very tasty... The waiting time is a bit lengthy and irritating if alone, but it is worth the wait...
Rishabh Binani
Had ordered a Veg. Thali for lunch. It took them 45 minutes to get the food. Plates looked unwashed but we chose to ignore as we were famished. Realised there were spiders in the food soon after. Not one but 3. Add to that there were cobwebs in the papad section. Absolutely pathetic and mind-boggling. Left immediately after bashing the management.
Mehal Dokania
This is a casual eating place, with both indoor outdoor seating. We tried Indian. The food was fine. The sabzis were good and I loved the rotis- they served it warm and soft. It's also pocket friendly.
Sushma
I don't know why this place exist anymore. It use to be so beautiful once upon a time with a scenic, green and open ambience. But now it looks very deserted and is completely ignored by the management. Trust me it's a great date place because hardly any one is present here and without any one's notice, you can kiss your partner.
However it's very affordable and it does justice to the food quality. After college, shopping or after a tedious day, you feel like drive in here and can sip not so prefect but a refreshing coffee :)

The worst restaurant I have ever been too. Hot and sour chicken soup is served with all the vegetables available in the kitchen. Order is taken for starters and for dinner and we are made to wait for over an hour and are finally told that chicken and egg is not available... All this on a day when not even 1/3rd tables are occupied. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Doesn't deserve even the above mentioned rating!
Tanumoy Nandy
Wouldn't be too harsh on this place.
On a low budget, with desire of satisfying your appetite after taking a stroll along Victoria and Maidan, this is probably where you dive in.
The pocket pinch is minimal and quanity of food served might just do justice to your hunger.
Don't go by the previous reviews.
Go and order some Chinese or some North Indian , they serve pretty decent dishes.
And yeah, the restaurant looked cool to me.

Ordered 2cokes ,a pasta and Indian pizza....
The gentleman taking the order was pretty sloppy and was reluctant in answering us how long it would take for the food to arrive at our table.....as 20 minutes had already passed away...and we were getting late as well....
1.Pasta - the pasta was undercooked as it was still chewy and rubbery.
2.The pizza was stinking to the core and awful to taste...the pizza dough seemed to be old....still feel like throwing up..
3.coke - we gt served fountain Coke without fizz and it ended up being watery to taste in..

I heard s lot about this place being good.but it was utter disappointment. The pizza was sheer disgust ..still gt billed for the pizza even after complaint ...manager refuses to in not charging for it....and to be honest I don't care about paying the money but I'm not here for free food but charging for the pizza was quite unethical and the chef can definitely try and have a few bites or the whole thing and see for himself......

Disgraceful joint to visit again..

This place is one of my go to joints whenever I am around that area!

Very pocket friendly with a nice and calm ambience.

They serve a wide variety of cuisines, which is good in a way as it gives you alot of options, so you can try out something different every time you visit this place.

We ordered my favourite Chilli Paneer and Hakka chow. It was flavorful.

We also tried the Veg Special Thali from here which was equally good.

The quantity is sufficient and the quality of the food is amazing!! The staff is pretty generous and I would definitely love to keep visiting this place time and again.

The ambience, the quantity and quality of the food is really nice but the service is Damn slow and the waiters are quite laid back.. We need to wait for long to be served and it takes long for them to prepare the food.... Overall when it comes to food the Chinese dishes are fabulous...Saptadeep Roy

Decent and economical veggie joint.... Strategically located...serves nice food...the service has to improve a lot as the staffs have a laid back attitude when it comes to service....

Looking for a quick bite, this is certainly not the place. Although the service is little delayed, but the food is worth the wait.

The Thali is quite filling and loaded.

The ambience or interior does not exist, but a descent place to take a 1 hour break from your office with colleagues.

In winters specially, you can use the sitting area outside under the sky rather, it's quite amusing. Try it!!

Saptadeep Roy
Good food. The sitting arrangements are very beautiful. They have indoor as well as outdoor sitting.
Coming to the food, there is a large scope for improvement. The preparations were ok but lacked taste in a way. We ordered Dragon Chicken, Schezwan Noodle, Fried Rice, Chilly Chicken.
The Schezwan noodle disappointed me among these.
But overall, if they work a little bit more on the taste part, it will get a crowd they can't handle.

The location is perfect and crowded by family and office colleagues. The quality of food is nice. The ambience is also nice. Separate unit for AC lovers and nature lovers. Staff servicing is a little bit slow. Overall a nice restaurant..!!

For the first time, I paid a visit here. It is a neat and clean place. There is sitting arrangement outside, complete with umbrellas and tasteful chairs and tables. There is a separate unit with AC , but I preferred the outside sitting arrangement. There are wall fans attached to the umbrella which the staff switched on as soon as I was seated.
The menu is simple-Chinese and Indian. Pocket friendly price. I asked for crispy chilly babycorn. It took them approximately 5 minutes to bring the dish. The food is excellent. Just the right amount of chilly and the right amount of crispiness. The staff was formal but attentive. Overall, a nice experience. I would have sat there and asked for something else, but the evening was setting in, and with it, mosquito. So I had to leave early.

I could see motley comments for this restaurant. Little surprised.
I had Chinese there.
Perfect Chinese.
Mind bobbling Chilli Chicken and Red pepper Chicken.
Mushroom Clear Chicken soup was simply delicious.
Very very much satisfied.

Yes it's service was bad I mean very bad.
Ordered "Veg Biryani" and "Veg Noodle Soup".Both were amazing. Many options available.Their seating area is plus point.Service is fine.Liked Outdoor seating area.

I just had their thali once and it was completely average, it had rice, dal and one more veggie along with compliments. Veggies were prepared well but rice was really sticky
