This place is perfect to try cabin style foods. The service was very fast and the staffs were really efficient... We tried their: ● Fish Diamond Fry (priced at Rs 130) ● Chicken Cutlet (priced at Rs 80) ● Fish Kabiraji (priced at Rs 110) The Fish items were really really great but the Chicken cutlet was very dry and was a letdown.

We ordered diamond fish fry and chicken bharta. Both dishes were very tasty and fresh and also at a very reasonable price.

It's an non AC restaurant. Teste is good. But problem is price quite high and quantity low to other restaurants.. price as same as other restaurants..

I visited this place last week and tried their special fish diamond fry which was excellent.Rumali roti with Chicken Bharta was scrumptious. Mutton Kasha was not well cooked.Didn't like the basanti pulao as well.

Published: 12th September 2022 Last dining date: 11th June 2022 I am an old patron. I like the place for its food and reasonable pricing which is at a much lower level from other budget restaurants. It's certainly not a place for ambiance. To me it's just for no nonsense good food at pocket-friendly prices. I like its famous fish fry, chicken pakora and Fish Butter Masala. I tried Chicken Fried Rice (Rs 120) and Chilli Chicken (Rs 90) on the said dining date. The fried rice was flavourful with abundant tender chicken pieces. The portion was appropriate for a single diner. The chilli chicken was done in street style but the portion was better than that on street. There were six good sized pieces with no cornflour coating (unlike on street). It had a hit of sweetness unlike other places which was not exactly to my liking but I found the overall taste decent and can come back for it. The service was prompt and the waiter was attentive.

Service was on point here as it's a quick sit and eat restaurant. Menu is definitely cheap for the amount of food they serve. We took a hawker's chicken fried rice with the kolkata style chili chicken and some chicken pakoras. Loved all of the items thoroughly. Definitely a must visit if you want to understand and experience the street food cuisine of Kolkata.

In my opinion, this outlet is the best place to have food in and around Esplanade. No other food chain can beat this place for a budget friendly meal. Visited here several times, food never disappointed me. There is a huge rush of office goers every time you visit here. Staffs are old and satisfactory. But the food is worth the money and truly favoursome and delectable. I bet you there is no other place which can provide best quality of food and good portion at this price like here.

Ordered Chicken Butter masala(83₹) and 3pcs Rumali roti(7₹ each). Quantity of butter masala was good but it tastes similar to chicken chaap. But overall this combo was perfect in this price range.

We ordered 2 plates of chicken biryani as we were in a hurry and deckers lane was nearby. This place is very popular for it's dishes. The lunch time rush made us wait for a little. But the biryani was worth the money.

We had egg chicken noodles,chilli chicken!food was good at this price, service was also good!good place to have street food!

Had fish fry there... Tastes really awesome. Mind blowing. But required more cleanliness.

Chittoda's Suruchee Restaurant is at Esplanade Dacres Lane. This place is very famous and serves good quality food at a pocket friendly price. The chicken chow was reasonable in quantity and very tasty. The chilly fish was really well made and the fish was fresh and very tasty. These two complemented each other well. As mush as I love the price and quality of food here, can’t resist the fact that it’s a restaurant which has a system where either you tip to the waiter or get embarrassed. The owner must make his staff understand the logic behind Tip.

Went to this place on 25 th december..had there rumali roti,chicken bharta,mutton kosha,mixed fried rice,chilly chicken. Chckn bharta was the yummiest above all..highly recommended..every item was so tasty..and price is sooo negotiable..but they ddnt compromise wd taste..will visit again!!

It was brilliant. Served hot, and it had a good blend of spices with the fish, which made it palatable! A must try. The food really tastes awesome . As I was going through the dacres lane I decided to have some food and I found only this restaurant which was clean and maintaining minimum hygiene. One thing that I didn't like is sharing of table , they will ask you to share table with others which was a little uncomfortable but that's not an issue the food was very good the mutton was cooked very well and literally it requires no effort. The staffs well very helpful and well behaved they will suggest you what you should order and they also have a good courtesy. This is best place for tasty food in ultra cheap price. Now you are thinking it is ultra cheap so ho is the quality of the food? Did they compromised with the food for money?? Absolutely No sir. They serve tasty food because they serve the fresh fish and chicken all though i don't eat mutton here but i believe that too fresh. I ordered fish butter masala which was really fresh and even you are not a pro still you will get when you entered it in mouth then ordered fish finger very crispy and tasty and chicken bharta taste was so different than other restaurants. This place is near Dharmatala. This Saturday ordered Egg Fried Rice & Chilly Fish (3Pcs) from this restaurant and found to be surprised as both of the items were not upto the mark in terms of quality and taste. Both items were just below average.

The chicken fried rice was good but the chicken kasha didnot match my expectation. I have had better chicken kasha earlier. The stew was average for me as i like to have chicken stew in a different way. More or less the food was good. The chicken kasha should have been more better. I hope the others will definetely like the chicken stew. The service was quick.

Small place. You may not get impressed with the physical outlook of the restaurant but it's a hidden gem. This was my first time there and we ordered all their signature dishes except chicken Stu. We ordered fish diamond fry, rumali roti and chicken bharta. They gave extra cream over it and also gave one extra egg and the gravy was so creamy , flavourful. Never had such a satisfying meal in such a less amount of pocket pinch.

We went to chittoda after a tierng shopping session, we ordered mutton kosha , egg fried rice ,romali roti, egg chowmin and chili chicken.The staff were polite, service was fast and food was good , that's all you can ever want from a decars lane restaurant, and last but not the least the bill amount was 625 for 6 people so yeah chittoda is for a visit if you are near Esplanade or Chowringhee looking for a affordable and quality place to eat.

This is my go to place everytime I come to esplanade area. This shop does not need any introduction to foodies in Kolkata. A branch owned by the nephew of legendary chitto da. This is the cheapest place to satisfy your apetite. I have tried almost all the foods they have in their menu but my favourites are chicken bharta, chilli chicken, mix noodles and fish fry. The chicken bharta with rumaali roti is a must try dish here. The only cons is it's very difficult to get a seat during the weekday lunch time so mostly if you come around that time there is high chance that you need to share your table with other people.

The mixed fried rice was good in quantity and also had good traces of chicken ,prawn and egg. We ordered 2 plates. Chilli chicken dish had 6 boneless pieces(1plate). Overall good experience. Located near Lalit hotel. The place is well known to Kolkatans for decades. The place exudes tonnes of Nostalgia but please don't expect any kinda ambience, the kitchen crew was dressing onions on a table near me. So there's that. Its true when they say "new maybe different but old is gold" one of the oldest eateries od kolkata. Has maintained their quality to its best. They still have that same old taste. Cut to our food venture, we had veg fried ricd and dry boneless chili chicken. And dont forget to add some soft drinks with it 😉 Quantity was enough for a full tummy. Chicken was soft and medium spicy. And all of this at a cost of Rs. 160/-. If you guys have'nt been there yet, go asap.

This place is a classic. Not for the faint hearted. Because it won't give you a sit-down lunch or dinner at a restaurant kind of experience. It will serve you the best chicken stew though which comes with a fat piece of bread. Pretty filling and satisfying! And you get to soak in the nostalgia that Dacres Lane exudes.

This place is a gem.I visited on Friday and there was a huge rush.I ordered Chicken Butter Masala ,Chicken Bharta and Chicken Chap one plate each with 10roti and the bill came even less than 400.The taste and the quality will surely make you drool for more.Though they give only one chicken piece in Chap and Butter Masala the gravy and size is worth the price.Lastly I tried Chicken stew,and it is surely one of the best in city.Though the place is not air conditioned or highly decorated the food will definitely bring you back many times.

Dacres Lane is a heaven of street food lovers and Chittoda's restaurant is a really gem. I love the chicken stew the most and its really very famous of Kolkata.

Great food at such low rates! Chittoda r suruchee restaurant is one of its kind in Dacres Lane. Food tasted awesome and quantity was praise worthy. Kabiraji was tasty while fish diamond fry was a little disappointment with respect to it's size and cost. But the taste compensated. Biryani ,Chicken butter masala and roomali rooti was tasty as usual.

This place is my all time fav. Today's experience will speak otherwise. The fish fries delivered were completely stale. Chicken pakoras were undercooked. The chowmein and chilli chicken served was tasteless. Never going to order again.

Chicken biriyani is very spicy .. and everyone may not like this .. but it was very tasty..<br/>Chicken butter masala is average.. it is good in taste .. but the chicken piece they provide is not boneless ..<br/>Quality of Chilli chicken is also so good , which you can get in very cheap price ..

It's one of the best place for Indian and chinese cuisine with a very small pocket pinch. Their diamond fish fry is the best tasted fish fry I and my family ever had.

Yes, you guess it right, it is the one and only famous Chittoda's Suruchee Restaurant.<br/><br/>From my childhood, I visited this place atleast hundreds of times and it never become old.<br/><br/>I have my own favorite items from this place like Chicken bharta, Rumali Roti, Chicken Pakoda, Fried rice, Chilly chicken etc. And few days ago when I visited this shop, I was truly impressed to see that the taste is same like old.<br/><br/>Ordered one plate of Chicken Pakoda, Egg fried rice and Chilly chicken.<br/><br/>Chicken pakoda was good. 6 mid sized chicken pieces were there in thick outer layer. Egg fried rice was pretty decent, just like homemade fried rice. Very lite but full of flavour. Chilly chicken was good also and perfect accompaniment with the rice but I felt it little bit salty, may be due to the excess amount of soya sauce.<br/><br/>Overall it was really a great dining experience from this old place again and again.

The filling was really yummy and the coating was perfectly seasoned. Served with salad.<br/><br/>Egg fried rice- This was really filling and had a homely feel to it.The rice was very well cooked and seasoned.The portions were enough for two of us.<br/><br/>Chilli chicken- This was a bit salty to him , but I found it okay.
