One of the oldest cafés of South Kolkata running since almost 70 years, this place has those beautiful cabin style seating arrangements. We tried their signature dish Chicken Afghani. It had a sweet unusual vegetable gravy which I didn't like much. Along with this, we had Fish Finger which they served with compulsory salad and kashundi.

One of the oldest cabin restaurant in Kolkata. Mainly famous for its Afghani cutlet. You can also try the chilli pork here. It is like coffee house but with better service and quality of food. Place is pocket friendly as well.

Came in on a rainy hot summer evening with an old friend on 16th July 2022. Don't expect much out of the ambience as this is an old cabin, they still managed to improve the outer seating part and make it look decent but the innermost seating where you have those cabins are not very well maintained. The marble top tables are getting black, floors eroded with regular footfall and slow fans to make you feel hot in the summer. Coming to the food, we got Veg Fried Rice, Chilli Chicken and a Fish Fry. Veg Fried rice (6/10): Decent quantity, enough for 1 person, but not enough for sharing with another unless you're a light eater. Lacked flavour of the fried rice. Rs 90 Chilli Chicken (8/10): Very Good. Tasty, a bit sweet, soft and fresh chicken and sizes were decent. Gravy was good tok, with some veggies. Fish Fry(7/10): They over-fried it and made it black-ish. Thus, killed the flavour of the fish. They give complimentary papad with the fish fry. Service is a bit slow for the cabin parts as they place is understaffed, but still as per the price, it gets the work done.

Loved it. Fish fry is good as per price. Fish finger is so-so as the quantity is not much. It was thin. Chicken Afghani is different. Service is good. Do not forget to leave tip as it is a good tradition for cabins and also because the revenue of these cabins are not so big as compared to modern cafes.

'Sangu Valley' is a very traditional, famous and popular place at Bhawanipur area. It is one of the finest cabin of Kolkata, running over more than 80 years. It is a perfect and pocket friendly place for small or medium gang of people, students to hangout with their friends as well as spend quality time with your beloved one. Few days back I had visited this place. It is located at Bhawanipur just beside Purna Cinama hall, near the petrol pump and just few minutes walking distance from Bhawanipur Police station. • Ambience of this place is very nice with beautiful decorations and also have old cabin style sitting arrangement. • This cabin is spacious and they have seating arrangement of more or less 60 people at once. • I had tried their Mutton Afgani along with paratha and Chicken Cutlet. • 'Mutton Afgani' :- By looking the recommended items in review at verious places, I had tried Mutton Afgani. And the taste was just Fabulous. It had a large size mutton cutlet which tossed in spicy gravy with lots of vegetables. Cutlet was made by shredded mutton keema. And the gurnishing of the Plate was so good. Overall It was too much drooling and flavourful. Must try this. • 'Paratha' : Along with Mutton Afgani I had tried Paratha. Their paratha was totally different from other restuarant. Paratha was totally fried in deep oil and large in size. It was so so soft and so tasty. Along with Afgani it was a perfect match. • 'Chicken Cutlet' : As it is a famous cabin so I had also tried their Chicken Cutlet. The taste of Chicken Cutlet was awesome. It served with different things. Along with cutlet they served Mustard Sause and Papad . Mustard sauce was quite common with cutlet or fry but Papad with cutlet was different combination and it was not bad. It was good to have with cutlet. • Quantity and quality of each item was enough and upto the mark. Service is so fast and staffs are courteous and helped us to choose the right item. Clean and m well maintained till now. Prices are appropriate according to the quality and quantity of food. • I had a great experience here. This place is truly good. Do visit there to have a lovely time with great food at pocket pinch price.

One of the best Special Mughlai Paratha in Kolkata. Made in Kaviraji style Mughlai Paratha. Good quantity of chicken stuffing was there. Chicken kassa was so-so in taste.

A very old & great food joint located just opposite to Indira Cinema Hall, Bhowanipore. Just a few minutes walking distance from Bhowanipore Police Station. One of the finest 'CABIN CAFES' of Kolkata, running for over 50 years. The place has those old cabin style sitting arrangements and food served brings back the good old memories and the best part is all the dishes are available at such low price rate. Cost for two can be around 250-300Rs, in which you can get 2/3food dishes and 2cups of coffee/tea. Clean and well maintained too, till date. The place truly justifies the saying, "Old is Gold."

Another milestone in Kolkata Cabin culture, although in southern part. Pocket friendly and delicious. It has decent amount of seating arrangements. Must try items include moghlai parota and chicken afgani cutlet. Bill for two should be around 300 bucks. Highly recommended place.
