Haji Ali is a well known Biriyani Outlet This Highland Park outlet serves Biriyani, Mughlai, Kabab and North Indian dishes. I ate chicken biriyani, cost was Rs. 240 The biriyani was light, not loaded with spices and not oily also. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also quiet and simple but comfortable. The service is fast and efficient. Overall my experience was good.

Had their kebab platter and mutton biryani. The kebabs were juicy and tender. 😋 Enjoyed the biryani but could have been better. A perfect restaurant for any kebab lovers.

One of the best in that area. They make veg, egg, non Biryanis separately which is a good thing. Price is okay as per the quantity they serve which is good. Taste wise very good.

Not a place if you want to click photos and make reels. If you just want good food at a reasonable price just make a visit. I tried garlic nun kulcha and kadhai chicken and everything was awesome. They do not have a proper wash room.

A regular orderer thru Swiggy! Try the Chilli Garlic Chicken Noodles. Tangdi Lajawaab & Biryani are their signature dishes. Haji Ali never disappoints. Keep up the great work. Kudos!

The food is delicious. Destination for that Perfect Kolkata style Biriyani. Strongly recommend the Chicken Boneless Biriyani, Fish Sufiana Kebab & Ajwaini Kebab. The Mutton Biriyani was delectable too. The ambience isn't a perfect match for dining in. Great quality food priced reasonably.

Takeaway counter at front, Restaurant is beside on 1st floor. Tried fish kali mirch kebab nd Chckn reshmi kebabs. Taste was good, piece size were satisfactory. Loved the fish. Prices are okay, at par with what they serve.

Amazing mutton biriyani , one of the best in Kolkata, worth returning multiple times. However , hygiene is an issue with this restaurant. We found a hair in our chicken reshmi kebab.

FOOD TASTE IS SAME . Really delicious trying for the last 7 years. Prices are now getting a bit high but compared to other restaurants it's reasonable. Comes with 2 piece of mutton (1 being small) and one Potato (aalo). Authentic Bengali style biryani. I loved it.

-Located near Ajoynagar crossing just between Ganguram sweets and Shiraj.<br/><br/>- Ordered Chicken Roll which costs Rs 55 but there was only 2 & half pieces of broken chicken and rest all junks consisting of capsucum onion , green chilli and excessive sauce. Since is parcelled the roll I was unable to complain this to the restaurant. Felt very bad indeed when I had this. Okay while returning home decided to try out this joint located at Ajoy Nagar . Since my mother loves having noodles alot so for her took veg Hakka noodles and for my dad I took a chicken roll. And according to them it was absolutely awesome. Very much satisfied with the quantity and quality of the food.

I had ordered chicken biryani, chicken chaap and hariyaali kebabs on the 25th of December. The experience was okay, the biryani tasted a bit weird, the chaap too I would say! The kebabs were good enough compared to the biryani and chaap! I would say every restaurants don't give their best during any occasion, but what are exceptions for? 3 stars for the kebabs only, I hope for a better service and food quality not only during normal days but during the rush hours as well!

I recently ordered a couple of dishes from here through Swiggy during my stay in Kolkata. We ordered Crispy Chilli Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Egg Chowmein and Phirni. All the dishes were good and tasty. Although Crispy Chili Chicken didnt go very well with the Chowmein but t was nicely prepared.

Ordered many times via swiggy. I love their peshwari tandoori chicken. This time ordered mutton Biryani special. Just loved it. One of the best in town. Price is reasonable.

It was my first visit and i was craving for Biriyani. So just hit on this place. A full plate of chicken biriyani was pure bliss. The chicken was big and just melted inside my mouth and the alu also.Though the taste was nothing heavenly but it was delicious enough. I guess it is the best biriyani place of Ajoynagar area.

I had ordered food from Here online. Packaging was totally nice and I enjoyed every bit of it. Minimum pocket pinch for 2 is 300 which is quite affordable. This being placed in our surrounding neighbourhood.

Ordered Tandoori Roti and Chicken Bharta. The Roti was soft and tender. Some places make their rotis very chewy but soft. Theirs was soft but not chewy. A great plus, in my opinion.<br/><br/>The Chicken Bharta was enough for 2 people. It was garnished with a grated boiled egg which added greatly to the flavour. No too oily, the dish goes very well with their rotis.<br/><br/>UPDATE: Ordered Rasili Chicken Tangri (2 pieces). While this was a bit more oily than the bharta, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the taste. They could however ease up on the onions - maybe grate them instead of putting them directly in the gravy.<br/><br/>Tried their egg roll and boneless chili chicken. The former was pretty good but had a bit too much chili in it. The boneless chili chicken had 8 extremely small pieces of chicken; the gravy was thick and tasted pretty bad. This dish is not at all worth the money.<br/><br/>UPDATE 2: Have tried their chicken Biriyani multiple times now. It is very inconsistent. On some days, the aloo is big and is well cooked and it is served hot, while on other days it is cold and the aloo is undercooked in the middle.

Haji ali is known for it’s Biryani and it has been maintaining the quality since it has started. Located at the Ajay nagar crossing towards Hiland park can easily be found. I have visited here few times and taken away last time. The aroma of Mutton Biryani is really nice and its not dry. Mutton piece is tender and one portion is enough for a person.

I had ordered nawabi murgh tikka kabab, it was so so salty, never ate suck salty kabab ever. I wont every recommend this corner. I had called them up as well informing the item was salty, but to them its not salty, the whole chicken with its batter was tooo salty need to be dipped into curd to eat.

You will get what you are paying for. Taste is delicious and quality is too deep. Price is also cheaper than similar restaurants. You should definitely try Biriyani and Masala Kulcha.

Ordered Biryani from this place for dinner. The food came before time which definitely deserves browny points. But the biryani doesn't deserve all the top ratings. I'd place this biryani in the middle tier of all the biryanis I had here in this city from a wide range of places. It was a bit spicy and the rice could have been better. They don't deny you of the quintessential Aloo in Bengali's biryani which is a direct descendent of Awadhi Biryani. The quantity was such that one person could fill his tummy quite well. This is conveniently located in ajoynagar, santoshpur. I ordered a mutton biryani and nawabi Murgh Tikka for mere sum of 272 INR. Tasted a good biryani after a long time. The spiced rice served with succulent tasty mutton piece along with a potato and an egg is a rare find. This certainly served my taste buds better than the conventional biryani outlets. The kebab was good. Tasty juicy well cooked in spices. However, it's not the greatest thing.<br/>Overall, good thing to tame your biryani cravings.<br/>

As far as food quality goes, I would say they do serve some of the best Tandoor and Mughai cuisines. Special mutton Biriyani - 2 pcs of juicy and succulent mutton along with 1 potato and 1 boiled egg is what you get. The rice quantity is sufficient for 2 if you are an average eater. The other best part is they seem to use refined oil along with pure ghee .. so its quite light and retains the Awadhi taste at same time.. you will not have any ghee/oil sticking to your plates! The Biriyani rice is also cooked to perfection with absolutely flavorsome mix of spices and Garam masala and saffron. Even the potato is well cooked soft.2. Tangdi Biryani - Biriyani part is same as above, only difference is the well cooked and spice enameled chicken leg pieces which were quite juicy and not fibrous.3. Boneless Tikka (chk) Biriyani - Biriyani part is same as above, only difference is they serve it with 4 pcs of quite reasonably sized boneless chicken Tikka. For somebody who is a fan of tikka kebabs and Biriyani, this biriyani is a delightful fusion. The tikkas are just Yummy if taken hot. The balance of the spice mix and the char grill was just perfect.. even if it is parceled and brought by delivery, there is no chewy feeling or lack of any tenderness in the chicken pcs.. they are extremely juicy with spices embossed in every bite of the chicken..ll in all a perfectly cooked Tandoori delight ! No extra oil as well and just the right balance of butter coating.5. Murgh Methi Malai - this was another delightful delicacy which consisted of a thick and creamy malai based gravy (mixed with Methi / kasuri methi) and contains 6 very well cooked boneless malai kebab pcs. One of the must try dishes I would say. You can have this with butter tandoori roti.

Ordered a whole lot of starters for a party, during durga puja. In some places during festivals, the quality and taste of food goes down. But this place kept it really up. Food was really tasty. There was 'chicken tikka kabab', 'chicken reshmi kabab', 'paneer tikka' & 'chilly fish' as well. 'reshmi kabab'. Was best in the lot, not too sweet, not too spicy. Just perfectly cooked flavoursome juicy kababs. Infact i was also happily surprised by the chinese preparation ('chilly fish').

This is a small outlet with 10-15 seating capacity. We ordered veg biriyani and chicken korma with egg. Taste of the veg biriyani was really great. Amount of the biriyani is sufficient for one people. Chicken korma was ok.

The biriyani tasted well. It was well cooked the surroundings were good but i think there should be a little changes. Though there behaviour was great i liked everything.

I ordered their mutton biryani with egg. I found the biryani quiet good with the mutton well cooked and good amount of rice for one person. However it tasted me a little too sweet for my taste palette as there was too much of fried onion. Haji Ali, Ajay Nagar branch is very much well known to me as I visit there whenever I am around Ajay nagar to have tandoori and kebabs. Previously they used to take just the price written on the menu card and they did not charged any tax however after inclusion of the GST they charge 5% on the billing amount now. The staff are very courteous and helpful. One must try Peshawari Tandoori Chicken, Ajwain Fish Tikka, Hariyali Murgh Tikka, Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Mutton Biriyani, Haji Ali Spl Rara Ghost. The prices of the dishes are reasonable compared to the quality and quantity of the food.

Honestly this is worst food ever.its beyond expectation that I had never thought. Very bad tandoori roti. I had ordered biryani that was good but this tandoori was very bad .

Maximum 15-20 people can sit inside. We tried their chicken biryani, mutton biryani and haji ali special rara gosht.<br/>biryani rice taste was good. But in special biryani, it is not sufficient for 2 people. Approx same quantity in normal biryani and special biryani, only diffence is that there are 2 pieces of chicken/mutton. Biryani's chicken was very big in size, for which rice quantity became more less. The chicken was not juicy, it was very dry and hard. But the biryani's mutton was soft and good in taste.<br/>I like their special dish haji ali special rara gosht. It is actually a mutton preparation. It is a bit spicy but good in taste. It contains 4 pieces of mutton (small size). U can share one plate between 2 person s.

Ordered Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani and Egg Friedrice for a get-together today at home. Biryani was really good, meat pieces were decent. The light Kolkata style biryani was tasty, not much oily and didn't cause any pain to the stomach. Will definitely order from here now onwards. The egg Friedrice was also quite well made and it surprised me being a Mughlai speciality restaurant. Very tasty food served here. I tried mixed noodles, chilli chicken, butter chicken. All of them taste great. I'm satisfied with services. Overall good.

I think this branch of haji ali is the best 😋 we ordered chicken biriyani, chicken chap and fieni... Chicken chap is very good in taste. And quantity of food is good.

Haji Ali biryani as so amazing. It's pure love♥️ it cost 150 + taxes. Biryani of Haji Ali is not dry like most of the briyani, it's tastes really good. Just the quantity is very less. Thats why i gave it 4 stars. The kebabs at Haji Ali are also delicious.

Served us stale fish prepared in chilli fish style. They did not bother to tell us it was stale and stinking even after adding so many spices and sauces. Also I found a hair strand in my soup. Atrocious experience. I expected a compensation from their side but no such thing was offered. Guys don't come here for Chinese. For that matter don't come at all, if such major facts are not paid heed to and tried to be kept as hidden from the customer.

We often get food delivered from here. They have food of great taste, large portions at a very reasonable price. I mainly like the Indian preparations from here, rather than the Chinese ones. If you call them for ordering, they often recommend you food. We had chicken korma with egg and plain naan for dinner. Excellent dish. I would like them to introduce some new items.

Ordered food though swiggy today.. First of all we visited this place on late afternoon, we ordered chicken biriyani and some cold drink as we were thirsty.<br/>The service was good, they have well decorated interior and air conditioned rooms and wrought iron furnitures to welcome guests. <br/>The serving time wad good as we didn’t have to wait for long and the food rates were reasonable.<br/>Do visit here for a quick appetising meal.

Food taste is very good, easily would have scored 4 stars based on it. But need to improve their hygiene standards. Otherwise decent price and good customer service.

We ordered mutton biryani on 28th April. What with all the newspapers reporting the cold storage meat racket that's been discovered, I was a little sceptical about the mutton in my biryani. Really the biryani was awful. And I am not exaggerating. 4 packets. Total waste of money.<br/>

One of the best biriyani and mughlai cuisine restaurant. However it's a bit towards the pricey side. Still it's better than it's neighbouring competition. Recommended.

The food was surprisingly good....my first order from here and my entire family along with me were highly impressed with the quality.The Biryanis were delectable. The Peshawari Tandoori chicken was an innovative tandoori item and very well prepared. For mains we ordered Rasili Tangri Murgh and Special Rara Gosht along with the Biryanis. These dishes were new to us and I have to admit that they had done a fabulous job. The mutton pieces in Rara Gosht were soft, tender and juicy and this dish was done with near perfection. The Rasili Tangri Murgh for one had real juicy chicken leg pieces in a fantastic gravy and did justice to the name.Had heard the name Haji Ali on numerous occasions and after this day I ended up with the regret of not having ordered from here earlier. So,the plan is to try out the other items they serve on a more regular basis. Hope they continue dishing out good food.

Please is easily located near Ajay nagar More. Ambiance wise OK type. Cost is pocket friendly. You can go for Tandoori Chicken & Biriyani which are their signature items. Both Quality & Quantity wise are aswome. You can also go for Butter Naan with Chicken Bharta. If you want some good food with pocket friendly cost you have to visit this place.

after finding it on zomato "brilliant biryani" list, i decided for a try. ordered a Mutton Biriyani with an added boiled egg... which costs 170/- bucks.<br/>It was a very well balanced biryani it terms of flavour and taste, definitely not overpowering or spicy or too sweet. Rice was light, mildly essensed, and some caramelised onions was there, adding a bit of sweetness to it. Mutton was a little dry, not oily and had a hint of essence.The only bad part was the Potato, was a bit lumpy. In the whole, i liked the biriyani, and i would definitely recommend it.

Economical and quantitative! :) You would love it if you dig into Mughlai dishes! If you order Biriyani, you'd fail to complete unless you're a hardcore foodie for life. The quantity that they provide is appetite appeasing.

Once this used to be on the top of my list while planning parties. I loved their biryani ( their biryani is juicy and sticky with spices which I personally prefer ) and their chicken garlic fried rice ( which is hot as hell ).<br/>But the quality of this place is gradually sliding. Now you have to be pretty lucky to get a good quality biryani. Try to avoid the fish dishes as most of the time the fish is stale. The only safer options are the chicken starters.<br/>Their delivery service is also becoming poor day by day. On one occasion I ordered dry chili chicken and got a gravy dish delivered. On another instance only 70% of the order got delivered.<br/>Their way of handling customers in case you choose to complain about quality or delivery is also pretty bad.<br/>Ideally I should have rated this place 2, but for the good old memories I am giving a 3 star.

Slow service , un attentive stewards constantly engrossed in watching south Indian and silly movies on the Tv ....Most of them don't even care that you have arrived and need to be seated , they give you this silly stupid glare which really ticks you off .......Biryani is dry and might be the worst I have ever had , the chicken and the mutton both seem to be boiled and that is it ....They are not even courteous enough to offer serving you ............. water served had small alien objects floating on the surface , the steward just put his finger in the glass of water and flicked it out and gave us back the glass - YUCK !!!!! pathetic experience

Been to this place many a times with my partner and family. We ordered for butter roti and masala kulcha from indian breads section. As side dish we ordered chicken reshmi butter masala and rassili tangri murg. <br/>The taste of the food here is awesome. We enjoyed the food over here. The ambiance was truely awesome. The staffs here were very well behaved. Overall had a very good experience here.

I have never visited the restaurant so not sure of the ambience or service but have been taking home deliveries from them frequently & they’ve always satisfied me with the timely delivery & mouth watering food. In love with the Methi malai murg... absolute bliss to the taste bud 😊 , goes well with any Indian bread. Well I’m fond of the mutton biriyani too.. huge mutton piece, juicy & tender. Had once ordered the cheese chicken kabab n was quite impressed. For the desert, the firni is 👌🏼

Ordered Chicken Do-Piaza and Paneer Butter Masala from this place. The portion size was average for the price but the food was bland. There was literally no difference between the taste of the gravies of Do-piaza and Butter Masala. They need to improve on the taste of their dishes.

A nice restaurant with good ambience and helpful waiters.<br/>We ordered Chicken Tikka Kebab for starters...<br/>Chicken Biryani and Kadhai Chicken for main course and firni for desert......<br/>Now onto the food the Biryani was light to eat and no excess of oil was also seen after eating it but the Kadhai chicken was a bit too much spicy of my liking otherwise the taste of both the foods was awesome and the firni was okayish one can give it a miss...<br/>So overall a good experience for me and my family and well good food and happy stomach makes every one a happy customer so a wonderful experience 😊<br/>

The kebabs were just amazingly tender and cooked to perfection. Even their biriyani and firni were quite nice. The place is easy to find and has a good view of bypass. <br/>
