Review 20/1/1/c Shillong Point - Kolkata (Calcutta)

jdorak “Jenny”
Had a most satisfying lunch this afternoon. The dokhleigh & tungtap were absolutely on point. Packed chicken & pork momos, dokhleigh and alu pitika as take away. The pork momos are hands down the best I've had in Kolkata - ridiculously juicy filling with thin momo skin. The 6 pieces disappeared too quickly. This is a treasure find in a small bylane on Ballygunge Station Road. A simple signage did not prepare me for the joy I was in for. Just about 4 tables in a converted old house is the dining space, but it is clean, spacious and with the right about of seating comfort. The art work and design is also not overpowering. Special mention to the spotless clean and spacious washroom. Had I known it was so good, I would have taken my mobile and taken some pics. Will definitely be returning back whenever I miss NE food. Jhanavi (Manager) was very helpful in guiding on the dishes and answering any queries.

Located near Ballygunge Station, Shillong Point is a celebration of Meghalayan cuisine. The ambience is quite charming. The sitting area is on the 1st floor and has a capacity of 20-25 people. And with some good music, this place is perfect for hanging out and have some good time. Shillong Point has some great variations of momos. I had Pork Steam Momos, Chicken Fried Momos and Chicken Pan fried Momos and I have to say each of them was quite delicious. The Chilli Pork was very tasty too with a perfect balance of spices. My favourite in main course was Steamed Rice with Khasi Pork Curry. The curry was quite spicy and the pork were really juicy and went very well with the rice. In the dessert section I have to mention the Pancake with toffee sauce, you definitely have to try it out! The Caramel Custard was quite nice too. It was an amazing experience being here and would love to visit again.

Shillong Point: 📍20/1/1/C, Ballygunge Station Rd, Kolkata, West Bengal 700019 @shillongpoint One of such restaurant in Kolkata which serves proper Meghalaya cuisine. With lot of varities to choose from. The seating capacity here is about 15-20 people With cute Cozy ambience to enjoy your meal I must say the staffs were very helpful and will guide you through the menu. Now coming to the food we tried: 🔸Chicken fried Momos 🔸Pork Momos 🔸Chilli chicken 🔸Pork with bamboo shoot and steamed rice 🔸Khasi chicken with steamed rice 🔸Pancake with toffee sauce and 🔸Caramel custard The food qiayis really good ,I have visited this place before also and they never fail to impress in food quality. Personally I loved the Chicken fried Momos, With good amount of stuffing inside, the momos had the perfect taste. Another one I liked was there Khasi Chicken Curry with Steamed Rice. With starters as good as main course You would have a tough time deciding on the winner. Overall our wholesome meal came to an end with delicious Pancake with Toffee Sauce and Caramel Custard. So it's worth trying, and the quality of food is really good. I would definitely visit this place again.

HIDDEN GEM ALERT : Shillong Point is a charming little eatery with a homely atmosphere celebrating the unique flavours of North Eastern Cuisine. It is located in a small building in the heart of South Kolkata near Gariahat. We tried: Wonton Fried Pork Momo, Chilli Pork, Jadoh (sticky rice cooked in pork fat) and Naga Style Pork with Lai Patta. Taste: The pork in these dishes were soft and juicy. The flavours of the curries and rice were lip-smacking. It was different from what we normally eat, and it quickly became one of our favourites. Experience: The restaurant has lesser tables than usual but the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and their recommendations were truly amazing. Must try: Jadoh Pocket Pinch: 900 for two

I cannot wait to try all the dish from this restaurant. I love northeastern food so much and i finally found one in a city. So coming to the restaurant, the ambiance is quite small bcoz its newly opened but the food i tired were awesome and the service is also good too, they talk and explain very nicely about the food. Going to visit again and with many frnds to let them also try our northeastern food. I just have only one problem is that the quantity is quite less. Rest everything is fine. Thank you for providing such food in a city

One of the best dry fish chutney I ever had and also the spiciest one. I believe this is a Hidden treasure of Kolkata located near Ballygunge station. I highly recommend this place to those foodies looking for pork items on the menu. Would love to visit again soon.

Best northeast restaurant so far in kolkata. The food was really delicious, dry chilly pork (starter) was the best. And pork in bamboo shoot, my goodness everyone should definitely try that. energetic and helpful staff.

Wanted to try something which belongs to different region & not so frequently having dishes. Hence, headed over to this place. It's very near to Ballygunge railway station & few minutes walking distance from Bijon Setu.. Don't go over the size rather this pint size eatery has to offer lot more staring from a cozy homely environment, polite gesture from the staffs and the quality food. As the name says this place serves popular food of North-East region. I personally liked few of their specialities are... • Chicken Momo~ The outer layer was very soft filled with good amount of staffing. Served with flaming hot sauce which compliment the dish well. • Chicken With Bamboo Shoot~ Not so fan of bamboo shoots but loved the dish as it was well balanced dish in term of flavours. The chicken pieces were quite chunky but tender & juicy. Also we tried.. • Mongolian Chicken • Chilli Chicken • Veg Hakka noodles • Dohniiong~ A pork dish cooked in black sesame gravy. • Steamed Rice with Ginger Chicken • Caramel Custard~ This dessert was a perfect end of our meal. It was light n airy inside yet so delightful that just melt in your mouth & you'll get to taste the blissful flavour. Nonetheless, it was indeed a great experience for me. If you wanna experience true North East flavour, must visit this place.

This place is located at near Ballygaunge Station Road or 10 minutes walking distance from Gariahat Golpark. It is a northeastern cuisine and their flavor and shillong point is the perfect destination where they will give you Naga cuisine and gave the vibes of Northeastern culture. It is a small cozy food joint at a ground floor level where an ordinary wooden door opens up and they have a seating capacity of around 13-14peoples in - a - go. We ordered - ✔ ROAST PORK ✔ CHICKEN & PORK MOMOS ✔ MONGOLIAN CHICKEN ✔ PLAIN RICE ✔ CHICKEN WITH BAMBOO SHOOT ✔ CHILLI CHICKEN & CHILLI PORK ✔ VEG HAKKA NOODLES ✔ GINGER CHICKEN ✔ DOHNILONG ( PORK WITH BLACK SESAME) ✔ CARAMEL CUSTARD Must Recommendation - Pork Momo - I specially loved the pork Momo that is served there. The momos were juicy and tasty with proper feelings. Pork starters are amazing though. Chicken With Bamboo Shoot - it taste was juicy and little bit of spicy. Caramel Custard - I ordered Caramel Custard which has satisfied my sweet buds and toffee sauce over the cakes make it more delicious and tempting. All the dishes tastes equally good. They perticularly specialize in pork items. Loved the hospitality and the ambience. I had a great time and coming back soon.

This restaurant is located at Ballygunge, near the train station. The restaurant serves authentic North Eastern cuisine. The restaurant is small and can accommodate 10 to 15 people max at a time. The seating arrangement is comfortable and cozy. . Now lets come to the food and drinks that I had tried out here. . Chicken Momo, Pork Momo, Veg Hakka Noddles, Ginger chicken, Dohniiong (Pork), Chicken with bamboo shoot, Chilli Pork and we ended our meal with Caramel Custard. Both the momos were steamed momos and they tasted really good, the momos were served with spicy red sauce that I really loved. The veg hakka noddles was tasty and it went well with the ginger chicken. The Dohniiong that is a preperation of pork belly that is cooked with black sesame seeds tasted good as well. The chicken in bamboo shoot was super tasty and the chicken was well cooked. The chili pork was tasty as well.

A hidden gem for people who enjoys Indian chinese or north eastern cuisine. The sitting capacity, however, is very low but the food, ambience and the behaviour of the staff is excellent! The best of all is the charming cute lady who comes to you to take the orders. I have never seen such a cute, lovely and smiling waitress! You can also order for takeaway here!

Went to Shillong Point few days back and tried out Naga cuisine for the first time. 😋 It is a small restaurant situated on Ballygaung station road. I had no idea about the taste , though the owner already told us that the food will be slightly bland as the people there do not use much of our traditional spices. We tried: Jadoh Dohneiiong Steamed rice and Duck curry. I love duck curry from my childhood and the combination with steamed rice is just heavenly for me. Though I was not pleased with the different taste (as I was not comfortable with the change), they really cooked the meat perfectly. Jadoh is basically the rice cooked with pork fat. I liked the taste. Dohneiiong is the pork dish. At last I finished my lunch with butterscotch pudding, which was awesome. Overall the food was nice. They were very polite and courteous towards their customer. PS : The restaurant does not ask for GST and Service charges.

Shillong Point is a hidden gem in ballygunge area, located near ballygunge station and 10mins walking from golpark or gariahat, this place is very cozy with around 12 seating capacity but the food here is exceptionally great. The dishes here are cooked by keeping the flavours true to its origins, and cooked by specific chefs. I highly recommend the following dishes: Pork Steamed Momos Pork Stir Fry Chilli Fish Naga Style Pork Ribs Chicken Momos Chicken in bamboo shoot and steamed rice Pancake With toffee sauce. All the above dishes are fantastic, I highly recommend the dishes and this place, will be visiting soon.

As my college is in Swinhoe Street, I often roam around the Ballygunge station area in search of good food. Recently I had found a place on Zomato in that area, named Shillong Point. So few days back, I had been there with my mates to have lunch. The place is near 9A bus stand. They have a lovely sitting arrangement, but yes prior booking recommended. If you are going to a food joint who serve North Indian cuisine and you will not try their momos, that's a sin. So obviously we had Chicken Momos which were so soft and instantly melted in mouth. Roasted pork was another starter, which was delicious. The combination of plain hot served rice and dohniiong(sesame pork dish) was superb. Veg hakka noodles was with veggies, not too oily or spicy or greasy. In dessert,Caramel Custard was soft and fresh. It was heavenly after that heavy lunch. This place is totally recommended for all the North-eastern foodlovers.

Was craving for some north eastern food desperately so thought of ordering from here.

Ended up ordering the jadoh along with dohneiiong (pork with sesame seeds) and thought that it was superb. The packaging was done very diligently and the food was freshly cooked and piping hot.

Only complaint would be that the portion size could be slightly more or prices a tad lower, and some things like chilli, lemon etc. packed along with the combo could make things even better.

Overall really liked the taste of the pork. It was unique and full of flavour. Will soon try the naga stuff from here.

What an absolute pleasure! Great menu, the Pan Fried Chicken is unique in a good way. The highlight rather surprisingly is Veronica's Pancake with butter and honey..what an absolute gem.. definitely one of the best pancakes I've had anywhere in the world. So glad I ordered from here and certainly won't be the last, keep it up, keep going and wish you all the very best Shillong Point.

A small place near Gariahat. I am in love with it already. Reminds me of Guwahati and the food that I had tasted in a quiet little place there. Lovely girls waited on the customers. The decoration is bamboo themed just like the restaurants in Assam and Tripura. I asked for dragon chicken momo parcelled. I will give the update of the food after tasting it. I am going to come here often to taste the food here. I also ordered bird's eye. Hilli with smoked pork for myself.
Parking no problem. Ambience ok. Price is a bit on the steeper side but no problem when you get authentic food.

I loved the ambience. The chilli pork was the best I ate there. The Momo's was okay okay. The jadoh was quite okay. I feel it was too dry. The lady was quite interactive.

Went to this restaurant a few days back.
Ordered Naga pork with bamboo shoot and a plate of steamed chicken momo!! The Naga pork was soo different in taste.. I loved it..
And I dont know what to say about the momos!!! They have my heart!! The outer layer of the momost were sooo thin and it was soo juicy and filled with chicken
..it was soo tasteful..i loved it!! 👍

Extremely good food! Tried the Jadoh and Naga Style Pork with bamboo shoot at the recommendation of the hostess, and was very happy with the result. The pork pieces were plentiful, and the flavor was top notch. Even the coffee was very good. Definitely worth a revisit.
Note: For the people who are not comfortable with spicy stuff, I would recommend the minimum spicy version... the fearsome naga chilly is as fearsome as promised.
All in all - solid 5/5. And recommended.

The Chicken Fried Rice was totally below expectation and didnot resemble an actual Chinese Fried Rice but more of a normal cooked fried rice.

Few days ago i visited Shillong point that is located just 5 mins away from Ballygaunge junction. This place is famous for serving North Indian food. They offer a wide variety of North Indian cuisines.

The ambience of this restaurant is very cozy and the lighting is also kinda dim and romantic. I have tried the Dragon pork momos, Naga Pork chops, Gravy chowmin and Mangolian fried chicken. For dessert i sticked to caramel custard and Veronica's butter pancakes. Among all the dishes my personal favourite was Mangolian fried chicken, Dragon pork moms and Veronica's butter pancake. If you want to spend some quality time with your loves ones while enjoying the taste of North Indian then add this place to your list.

Jadoh in chicken fat- this was kind of a sticky rice and I really liked the taste of it.
And you should definitely try the deserts, they were amazing. Shillong Point is a Northeast Indian food based restaurant serving some amazing delicacies from Nagaland & Meghalaya. It is located near Ballygunge railway station,Kolkata.

The ambience is not very spacious but it's very decorative and totally gives a homely feeling.
There were some antique items hanging on the wall, which I found really unique.

So talking about the food this restaurant serves authentic Northeast Indian food. I never tried hilly food before this therefore I was really unsure how is it gonna taste but then suprisingly everything tasted delicious. I ordered for dragon Chicken Momo which were actually spicy but tastes amazing. Beside this I ordered for Naga Style pork ribs, pork chops, jadoh in Chicken fat, khasi style chicken in bamboo shoots, Mongolian dry chicken and as a dessert I took Veronica's peanut butter pancake( Veronica is a Chef at Shillong Point) & caramel custard

The pork items were really commendable especially the teryaki pork and everyone should definitely give it a try.

Hospitality of the lady at the reception was the only thing good rest was pretty bad. The food culture of Kolkata is quite high and options are plenty even the roadside food stalls here serve a decent meal. For shillong point it makes no point whatsoever. seating- stuffy small space
Presentation of food- none whatsoever
Taste/food- bland/oily/over cooked
Not sure whether soggy smelly chicken skin is a delicacy anywhere and please stop butchering the chicken pieces (with bone). Proper decent chicken pieces is minimum expected from a restaurant.

The steamed rice with bamboo shoot pork was superb and the meat is quite spicy so everyone beware. I preferred the bamboo pork over the Chilli pork that I ordered. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I regret not doing so sooner. Best place for Northeast and NAGA food! Drool smack drool smack.

I loved this small little heaven.
A very homely place.
The family running the place, were very nice and made you feel like home.
And please don’t forget to pounce on the caramel custard.. it was the best.

A lovely little place that serves wonderful North-eastern delicacies. The decor is also done keeping the hills in mind. We ordered one dragon chicken momos. This item was served in a thick hot gravy made with a lot of minced chicken. It was very unique and delicious. Another item was dry chicken in oyster sauce. Lastly we ordered one butterscotch pudding. I absolutely loved all the items. And great hospitality.

It's a small joint located in the bylanes of Ballygaunge (a 5mins walk from Citizen's Park) which serve amazing Tibetan food. On our visit we ordered-
✓Freshlime soda
✓Pork Stir Fry
✓Mongolian Dry chicken
✓Chili Pork with Noodles
✓Pork Bamboo shoot with Steemed Rice (It's extremely spicy and hence won't recommend this to everyone)
✓ Schezwan Prawn with Fried rice
✓Jadon & Dohneiiong (it's basically a pork preparation served with yellow rice, the curry is green is colour but absolutely complements the rice)

The pork momo is one of the best I ever had. I would say the same about the Chili pork. But the rice preparation Jadoh was very bland , I would not recommend that. I would have given 4.5 Stars if Zomato allowed it. Really nice behaviour from the owner and a very cozy decorative place. I will surely visit again.

It felt good to be at a place like this after such a long time. Let's talk about this place.

Speaking of Ambience, the place is small but very cosy & comfortable. A cosy cafe tucked away in the lanes of Ballygunje, at 2 minutes walking distance from the Ballygunje Railway station.

They specialize in North Eastern, Khasi and Naga cuisines and have the following specialities-

• PORK MOMO- Succulent soft momos packed with a mix of pork meat, very authentic in flavor. I loved the spicy momo chutney served along with it.

• CHILLI PORK- RECOMMENDED! The cuts of pork were just perfect, neither too fibrous nor too fatty. The spicy sauce along with bell peppers complemented the meat well. We took a second portion of it after finishing the first, it was that good.

• PORK WITH BAMBOO SHOOT AND STEAMED RICE- This particular dish came as a surprise. I have tasted bamboo shoot before trying this dish but this preparation has a completely different and unique flavor. You get the earthy flavors of the bamboo along with a burst of minty freshness coming from some black seeds they used (can't recall what those are called). Also, they told us that the bamboo shoot comes straight from the gardens of Assam! If you wish to try some authentic tribal cuisine you can go for this one.

• CARAMEL CUSTARD- Recommended! A perfect end to the meal. It was very close to being my favorite Caramel Custard. It wasn't too sweet, just the way I like it.

The ambience is simple. The service is moderate.

Will I visit again?
- Yes. A number of unique dishes on the menu are yet to be explored!

Khasi (Ka Ktien Khasi) is an Austroasiatic language spoken primarily in Meghalaya state in India by the Khasi people. It is also spoken by a sizeable population in Assam and Bangladesh. Khasi is part of the Austroasiatic language family, and is related to Khmer, Vietnamese and Mon languages of Southeast Asia, and the Munda and Nicobarese branches of that family, which are spoken in east–central India and in the Nicobar Islands, respectively. The Khasi are mostly meat eating people with their staple consisting of rice and meat based curries. In Khasi cuisine, smoked, fried, and roasted pork and beef are all staples. Shillong Point is one of the few restaurants in Kolkata serving authentic Khasi and Naga Cuisines. Most of their items like Raja Mirchas, Bamboo shoot, Local gingers, Schezwan peppers, Sarwa etc comes straight from the gardens of Assam. The best part of this restaurant is their in-house sauce that is served with the momos . We had : Pork Momos - The momos were extremely juicy and the fillings were adequate. What I loved was that the thin outer sheet didn't spoil the taste of the pork inside. Chilli Pork : I went to this particular place to try this delicacy. I am a pork lover and Chilli Pork literally makes me drool. Anddddd I totally loved the taste of the Chilli Pork here! Ended the day on a sweet note with their caramel custard. They have contests like Chill Tuesdays or you get 20% off depending upon the name of your alphabets. So if you are looking forward to have authentic Khasi food in Kolkata then Shillong Point is the place. However would suggest not to go in large groups because but you can definitely take your partner for a date ;)

✔️I went here to have dinner with my pork-lover friend.
💠Ambience - its a residential complex turned into restuarant so it can just fit 12 people at once. However ambience is soothing.
🔶We ordered -
🔸Fresh Lime Soda - presented in a cute mason jar it was really refreshing to taste.
🔸Chilly Pork - Tasted amazing though a bit spicy as the ingredients they use are directly brought from North East. However i was not impressed with the portion and the pieces. The pieces were majorly consisting of fat chunks.
🔸Jadoh Rice - I tried this authentic khasi dish for the first time and it was really amazing. It has a sticky texture as its made with pork fat.
🔸Dohneiiong - this dish was also my first time try. I was not impressed with this at all although it was one of their top recommended and best sellers. the gravy is prepared with black bean paste which did not match my taste preference also the pieces were not good, comprising mostly of fat chunks.
🔺We ended our meal with a butterscoth icecream which was good.
Bill - 1300
🔺🔹Overall i feel its a tricky situation where in the personal preference of taste matters.

It's my first invitation by the lovely @the_urban_millennial to spend some beautiful time at @shillongpoint which is one of the few restaurants in Kolkata serving authentic Khasi and Naga Cuisines. Most of the ingredients that they use in cooking like Raja Mirchas, Bamboo Shoot, Local Gingers, Schezwan Peppers, Sarwa etc directly comes from the local gardens of Assam. As to say about the ambience, the decors are very simple and soothing. The sitting area is little bit small in space, but friendly. Their staffs are very welcoming. And the food was too good, serving authentic flavours of Assam. They have contests like Chill Tuesdays or you get 20% off depending upon the alphabets of your name. Lovely isn't it?

Shillong Point is a restaurant known for their authentic Khasi and Naga cuisines which very few restaurants in Kolkata serve. Located on the by lanes of Ballygunge, it is a small restaurant serving some sinful delicacies to satiate your taste buds. The best part is that most of their ingredients like Raja Mirchas, Bamboo Shoots, Schezwan peppers are sourced directly from North East.

I tried out the following items:
1. Chicken Momos- Soft, juicy, gooey, meaty Momo's. Definitely a heaven's paradise for Momo lovers like me.

2. Chicken Teriyaki- It had a sweet and sour taste going a bit towards the salty side. Very nicely made, I must say.

3. Chicken Bamboo shoot with steam rice-
This is an authentic Naga Cuisine and I liked the way how green chillies, coriander leavers, garlic and khorika (or bamboo shoots) could impart so much flavours to a boiled dish.

4. Chicken Gravy Noodles-
The gravy noodles was immaculately made and lots of chicken chunks were added to it. The ingredients added to the gravy complemented really well with the chowmein.

You must definitely come down here and try out the Momos and the Chicken Gravy Noodles

This restaurant was on my list for quite some time now especially because I am a sucker for Momo's. Located near Ballygunge Railway station, this is a small yet quaint cafe serving some authentic Khasi and Naga Cuisine; being one of the fewest restaurants in Kolkata to do the same. Another thing which striked me is the fact that more than 50% of the staffs were women thus promoting women empowerment.

On my visit, I tried out their Pork Momos. The Momo's were heavily stuffed with minced pork having a juicy affair thus completely melting in my mouth. Next I tried is their Chilli Pork and it was the bang on. Elegant pieces of both Pork meat and Pork fat alongwith a mixture of spices, red chilli was fabulous. It was a bit on the spicier side which was due to the addition of the Raja Mirchis.
Next I got my hands on their authentic Naga Chicken bamboo shoot (khorisa) with steamed rice which tasted real good. Never thought that even boiled food could taste so good. I ended my meal with Caramel Custard to satisfy my sweet cravings. Someone who doesn't like too much sweet would definitely love this one.

Another thing which I would like to mention is that most of their ingredients in the menu like Raja Mirchas, Bamboo Shoots, Schezwan peppers are sourced directly from North East.

Overall I had a fantastic outing here in Shillong point and I am eagerly looking forward for my next visit.

1. This is one of the few restaurants in Kolkata serving authentic Khasi and Naga Cuisines

2. Most of their items like Raja Mirchas, Bamboo shoot, Local gingers, Schezwan peppers, Sarwa etc comes straight from the gardens of Assam

3. They have contests like Chill Tuesdays or you get 20% off depending upon the name of your alphabets.

FIRST of all the MOMO'S were too good stuffed properly and the upper crust of the pudding is too soft. The sauce they served with the mom was homemade ❤️and was spicy, so spicy lovers if you hop in here please make sure to taste the MOMO with their sauce.

Secondly my most favourite part Chilli Pork and Teriyaki Chicken
The gravy was properly made and was spicy again spicy lovers this is for you 😊

This were my personal favourite ❤️

This is my first experience trying out food from Shillong Point. A place that serves a variety of North East Cuisine right here in Kolkata. When i say North East, it doesn't end till Tibetan but has special Khasi and Naga food. Yes probably the only restaurant in Kolkata that has authentic Meghalayan cuisine using ingredients like raja mirchis, bamboo shoots, local ginger, szechwan peppers and much more sourced from North East. The best part about the place is the courteous Owner and the working staff which has women in 50% strength. Yes women empowerment is a great step taken here. Seating capacity is for 12 to 15 people max.

The food which i ate was something extremely different and had character in it. Be it from the appetizing dishes like Pork Momo's to the Stir Fried Pork. Both had a lip smacking experience. The Momo's were soft and the inner pork minced meat was juicy filled. The fried pork was cooked to perfection. I liked how the meat somewhat in dice shaped tasted spicy and a bit sweet too. The main course dishes like Khasi Chicken in Bamboo Shoot and Naga Pork with Lai Patta served along with Steam Rice was nice. Let me but inform you all the dishes are very authentic hence the use of chillies especially the Raja Mirchis shoots up the spice factor to another level. I mean every bite i took was spicy and had an experience in itself. By the end of the meal all i needed was a glass full of honey but then came the dessert to complete my wonderful eating experience. It was a Caramel Custard. Simply the best one i had in a long time.

When someone asks me for a place where we actually gets some authentic Khasi & Naga food along with a cozy ambiance in our city of joy , this has always been the best and the only place I suggest .
And personally i myself love this place a lot , because of their Authenticity.
Also , Most of their ingredients like Raja mirchas, bamboo shoot, local ginger, schezwan peppers, sarwa etc sourced straight from North East, or availability of pork pickle or fresh ctc teas straight from the gardens of Assam, or the fact that it is a diversity and inclusive restaurant with 50% of the staff in the kitchen or restaurant being women.
On my recent visit I had tried ⬇️
Pork Momo ,
Stir Fried Pork,
Khasi Chicken in Bamboo Shoot, 🌶
Naga Pork with Lai Patta, 🌶
Steamed Rice
&
Carmel Custard (Highly Recommended)

It was indeed a great time visiting my favorite place !!!

A tiny cute eatery has opened up in one of the by lanes of Ballygunge recently. This is the only restaurant in Kolkata which is serving almost all the food varieties of the Northeast. They have food from Meghalaya, Nagaland, Khasi Hills, Shillong, Umiam Region and also Chinese items. I tried a couple of items and definitely enjoyed the food.
✓Dohkhlieh- A traditional Meghalayan pork salad. This is a cold salad with bits of pork fat and meat, lots of onion and ginger, all simply marinated with salt and pepper. G
This authentic salad was quite good and goes well with a main course like rice and curry.
✓Chicken steamed momo- The homemade momos were really good as it had a very thin flour coating. The sauce served was tasty and spicy. Momos in the northeast are not served with soup and hence it comes only with the red chilli sauce.
✓Chilli Pork- The chilli pork was very very good. The pork was stir fried with bell peppers and onion. It was crispy, less oily and spicy! This is a must order.
✓Chinese chopsuey- The chopsuey was very tasty even though it was not spicy at all. Crispy noodles topped with chicken and vegetables in the white Chinese gravy.

It's a very reasonably priced eatery and is a hidden gem in the city. It's a flat converted to a restaurant so can host around 20people at a time. They are available on Swiggy and Zomato and have continuous online orders. It's a must try of you are planning to explore a different cuisine in the city!

For more information follow my blog theetenrovers.com.

Had the Naga Bamboo Shoot chicken, smoked pork, aloo dal and steamed rice. Loved all of them. Felt like a warm home cooked meal made with a lot of love. The place is cozy and warm just like in the hills. The owner and staff are also awesome and good to talk to. Highly recommend this place to all. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Located near ballygunge station..the place is certainly a cozy gateway for bunch of people..seating area isn't very huge but reasonable. Loved their chicken pan fried momo . Other dishes are also good. Blueberry cheesecake was average but Oreo mousse was good. 😊

We were a group of 3 who thought of trying out some North east cuisine. Found this place from Zomato. Kudos to that.

Coming to the Restaurant, space was a bit cramped up. Decent ambience, courteous owner and more importantly top notch food. We ordered Pan Fried Chilli Chicken and Dry Chilli Pork for starters. Both were cooked to perfection with unique flavours savouring our taste buds. For mains, we ordered Jadoh (Meghalayan Rice sort of) and Dohneiiong (Black Sesame Pork). The two dishes nicely complemented each other. For dessert, we ordered caramel custard, which was basically shaped like a cheesecake but tasted unique.

Overall, nice visit. I would rate it 4.5/5.

Great new place for authentic north east cuisine. A hidden gem in Kolkata . Try out their Pork dishes .

It's a hidden gem situated near ballygunge station. If you want to taste typical northeastern food you must visit this place. The cozy small space have much to explore. I want to taste the Naga food. The Naga style pork with bamboo shoots is a unique type dish, it is spicy, little tangy taste with rich pork fat. Jadoh is rice made in pork fat with ginger smell. The Naga style daal is very tasty but a bit spicy..the hot chili daal can make you cry. I ordered caramel custard to balance the hot chili. Last but not the least I like the staff behaviour. She will help you to choose the food if it's your first time.

Ive always wanted to try authentic naga cuisine and stumbled across this place. I've ordered food from here twice. The naga pork bamboo shoot was DELICIOUS. I absolutely loved it. The chicken gravy noodles were good too. The only thing which was a big let down were the momos. Being someone who loves momos from the bottom of her heart I think a place names shillong point can do much better with their momos. The filling was rather bland it had a lot of chicken but there wasn't much flavor and the filling didn't have anything apart from just boiled chicken and the momos were rather dry.

Amazing authentic north Eastern food

Ordered for chilli mushroom, veg fried rice and Chinese chopsuey. Chinese chopsuey was crisp and delicious. We loved the peppery curry. Chilli mushroom was spicy and taste really good. Fried rice had a lot of vegetables and thankfully was not greasy. Everything was fresh and delicious. Hope they will maintain this standard. Will definitely try out other items from the menu.

This place is located just a few minutes walk from the Ballygunge station.
If you are a die heart fan of pork dishes you must visit this place its worth a hangout.
I visited this place with my friends we all had a great time the ambience is pretty much home like.
You'll fell that you are at home while have the food. Their Service is also very good its real quick I have order from here many a times as in home delivery. It's very fast and the quality of food is also very good.

The best part of this restaurant is that they sell food at a very pocket pinch price. The food is very reasonably priced.

I had
1. Pork Momos
2. Raja mircha pork
3. Plain steam rice

The Raja mircha pork as promised by the chef was very much spicy I was very impressed by the quality as well as the taste.

Verdict :- if you want to try out best of pork dishes you better visit this place instead of wasting money over big five star restaurants to have pork

The naga pork with bamboo shoot was mouth watering but compared to the price it was quite expensive. They serve small 6pieces of meat which is only sufficient for two person
Rudranil Bhaumik
Despite being such a small place and very hard to locate, the food didn't disappoint at all. One of the very best places to try out authentic Chinese and North Eastern and also Naga Cuisine.

Owners were very warm and welcoming. They changed our dish since the pork meat was very chewy. Momos were nice :)

• Mongolian Chicken
• Chilli Chicken
• Veg Hakka noodles
• Dohniiong~ A pork dish cooked in black sesame gravy.
• Steamed Rice with Ginger Chicken
• Caramel Custard~ This dessert was a perfect end of our meal. It was light n airy inside yet so delightful that just melt in your mouth & you'll get to taste the blissful flavour.

Nonetheless, it was indeed a great experience for me. If you wanna experience true North East flavour, must visit this place

We ordered -

✔ ROAST PORK
✔ CHICKEN & PORK MOMOS
✔ MONGOLIAN CHICKEN
✔ PLAIN RICE
✔ CHICKEN WITH BAMBOO SHOOT
✔ CHILLI CHICKEN & CHILLI PORK
✔ VEG HAKKA NOODLES
✔ GINGER CHICKEN
✔ DOHNILONG ( PORK WITH BLACK SESAME)
✔ CARAMEL CUSTARD

Must Recommendation -

Pork Momo - I specially loved the pork Momo that is served there.

Few days back I was there to try some North Eastern delicacies for a change. The place can accommodate 10-15 people at a time. Seating arrangement is also cozy and comfortable. Now coming to the dishes we tried-

Chicken & pork momo- The momos were so soft really loved it.

Roast pork
Mongolian chicken
Plain rice
Dohniiong (Pork with black sesame)
Chicken with bamboo shoot
Veg hakka noodles
Ginger chicken

I loved having noodles with ginger chicken. Also I tried rice with Dohniiong (something new and unique to try) and chicken with bamboo shoot.

Also last but not the least ended our meal with caramel Custurd.

I tried this cuisine for the very 1st time.

Few days back I had visited this restaurant with some of my friends.

Soulclickstudio Ratings

Ambiance: 5/5

Service: 5/5

Food: 5/5

Taste: 5/5

Overall: 5/5

Disclaimer: This review is based upon the invitation by the restaurant management.

Chicken in Bamboo shoot and Guwahati fried chicken were superb! Quality is good but Quantity can improve though.. But over all loved it! Quite a new concept and best part is the variety from Northeast India to experience with..
Baijayanti Samanta
Momos are very good. Liked the thin skin of the momos particularly. Also, the filling is different than most places. The meat pieces are chunkier for the pork momo. Loved thr smokey flavour of the smoked fried pork but it's kind of chewy except for the fat bits.
Abhrodita Sinha
It's a small joint near Ballygunge station mainly north east cuisine based.we tried
1. Pork momo: the chutney was absolutely authentic. It's definitely a must try
2. Jadoh: sticky rice with pork belly
3. Chicken with Bamboo shoot: 3.5/5
4. Pineapple pancake: 5/5
Sitting arrangement is very few... that's the only disadvantage of that place!

If you want to give your taste palate a surprise visit shillong point and try their authentic north east dishes..the flavours are very new and outstanding. The person taking orders guided us well and we had a really nice experience.

We tried
Smoked pork fry
Jadoh
Chicken in lai patta
Mr Menon
The taste of naga style bamboo shoot pork was great.
But their ratio of fat to meat is not right.....they were mostly fat and and considering it had bones and the quantity is only good for one.....the price doesn't justify.
Wanton was a disaster.......thick wanton with negligible pork filling.
Have been hearing a lot about this place.....but was nt quite impressed with my meal.
Hope to have a better experience next time.

It's good. Because it's Northeast style. Bless this place. That it brings good memories of the beautiful place. All the best for this venture

This restaurant is a must visit if you want to some authentic North East food especially Assamese.
Situated in a narrow lane some where in fern road, well I followed google maps & would advise you to do the same unless you are well versed with the roads here in south kolkata.
Hahaha.
Ordered:
Chicken momo
Pork momo
Chicken stir fry
Chilly pork dry

The momo's were awesome, tender, soft and of great taste, reminds me of the famous momos that I had back in pelling.
Pork fry was good but could have been better.

Although, I visited the restuarant after durga puja, however they still had the stripped out so called puja special menu , nothing so special about, so I missed a lot of things.

Overall a pretty decent one.
Jashabrata Choudhury
Very homely atmosphere with authentic North East Indian dishes. People interested in trying out different flavours should give it a shot. Unconventional though the food tastes good.
It is advisable to book a table as they have a sitting capacity of 12 people.
Souvik Kundu
Visit Shillong Point if you are looking for some authentic Assamese and Meghalayan cuisine. This small restaurant with a seating capacity of only 12, is inconspicuously tucked away in a narrow lane in Fern Road, Ballygunge.
They serve some really tasty pork dishes from NE India. I tried the following on my first visit:
▪️Pork on bamboo shoot (5/5) - amazing taste.
▪️Pork Steam momo (5/5) - best momos ever.
▪️Pork Stir Fry (5/5) - sweet version of pork belly fat.
▪️Duck Curry (1/5) - duck was almost non-existent, grated bits of duck meat cooked with papaya and potato, the flavour didn't suit my taste.
▪️Tungtap - Beware of this extremely spicy dry fish chutney! Its not for the faint hearted.
▪️Caramel Custard (3/5) - quite ordinary.
Quantity of food in each of the dishes is very less compared to their high charges. There is room for improvement
Sneha Mukherjee
It is a very nice place we ordered pan fried chicken which tastes amazing and dry chilli pork which tastes heavenly we also ordered pan fried pork momo the momo tastes average and somehow I feel the filling is a bit let and the tomato is more. Pan cake tastes horrible so as darjeeling tea. We also ordered chicken steam momo which tastes average.
