Review Azad Hind Dhaba - Kolkata (Calcutta)

I have booked banquet hall at the 1st floor for my daughter's birthday celebration. Total area is not huge but it was well decorated and ample seating arrangement for guests. Food quality was good and prepared to suite children as per my suggestions. Food was served hot, plates were neat and clean, stuff courtesy and behaviour were admirable. Car parking is not a challenge because of side lanes. I have enjoyed a lot throughout the evening party.

It is located just a few minutes away from Masterda Surya Sen metro station. Ambience is good not bad. Staff behaviour is very prompt and friendly. Food is extraordinarily awesome taste wise as well as price wise. It is very cheap. Food is extremely tasty and worth every penny. A must visit. I ordered crispy chilly babycorn, butter Naan, peas pulao and handi chicken and the bill was just Rs 641 including taxes.

Azad Hind Dhaba serves some of the best kebabs in the city 😝 I live the Paneer Tikka and Chicken Reshmi Kakab in particular. The rest of the food is also Yummy! Do keep in mind that they are good for Punjabi dishes.

Ordered Mutton Biryani (1piece Mutton and 1piece Potato) and Sweet Lassi from Zomato which costed me ₹306.75. I am highly impressed with the quality of the food and the lassi because I placed this order around 12:00am and they served the Biryani and the lassi fresh. Packaging was neat. Quantity was good enough for one head. Overall recommended.

Ordered tandoori chicken. It was dry but taste was still satisfactory. Packaging was good and in terms of sanitation, the practices were proper.

Located a min walk from gachtala, just opposite to the ICICI bank netaji nagar brunch to be more precise. I've previously ordered tandoori naan and chicken tadka from here and those were literally good. So I decided to give this place a try and visited for my today's dinner. <br/> Before entering, they did spray sanitizer and checked my body temperature as well which every restaurant does these days for everyone's safety. After the sanitization I headed upstairs for my seat as their seating is available for dine in on the first floor. It wasn't really crowded at all and the seats were quite comfortable. <br/><br/>Now coming to the food I've tried, <br/><br/>Chicken Roll (₹60): It was pretty good. Had some good amount of chunky chicken pieces. The bread was perfectly crisp. Juicy, pretty decent. I liked it. <br/><br/>Chicken bharta ( ₹220) : Came in a white serving platter. With cream on top. I do judge food by watching at first and then by their taste and trust me I had a feeling that it's gonna be a disaster. Looking at the price paid I did expect that it'd come with some boiled eggs on top and it'd be a bit spicy looking gravy. Just like how a perfect chicken bharta should look like. It was kinda sweet because of the cream and had no eggs at all. Really a disappointment. I'd not recommend anyone to order this at all. <br/><br/>Tandoori Roti (₹15/piece) : As I've mentioned before that I've tried tandoori roti and tadka from here those were really good but this time idk why how the tandoori didn't seem the same. It was a little bit over crisp for my taste. Another disappointment. <br/><br/>Chicken Biryani (₹185) :The biryani was good. Loved the texture of the rice. It wasn't too much boiled neither too much dry. Well balanced. The potato was cooked properly, the chicken was soft as well. So it seemed pretty good to me. Though I've expected a little bit of onion as complimentary which goes well with biryani. That too wasn't present as well. I think maybe they don't give any onions or salad with anything as they sell onion salad and other salads separately.<br/>Idk how to react on this but anyway, this was my throughout experience at Azad Hind Dhaba today.<br/><br/> Judging by the name, I expected the dhaba type food to be few of their best from the menu but as they say, you should not judge a book by their cover. I don't recommend this place but if you really wanna go to this place then make sure you don't order their bharta. That was the worst of today. <br/>And they've increased the price by 10rupees in most of the dishes so do check that before ordering. <br/>Happy eating.

I understand you must be having less manpower, but that does not mean you would degrade your food quality. Sad.

Noodles were not properly boiled and so prawns. The quality is detroit.

Awfully tasting naan and kulcha. Was garlic high on supply? I am ordering from elsewhere now. It tasted awful and found its place in the dustbin.

The food is average

I ordered a combo of chicken reshmi butter masala with butter naan. In the description it was stated that order would have three chicken reshmi kebab pieces but it seemed that they had taken a single kebab and broken it down into 3 pieces. Furthermore, the description also stated that the order would have a papad but that was not delivered. The taste of the chicken reshmi butter masala was completely underwhelming. Sadly, the only thing good about the order was the butter naan but that alone does not justify the 195 + other charges that I have to pay for the order. I hope this review help and please do not order the combo.

Tried their Three flavored chicken that includes hariyali chicken, afgani chicken and chicken tikka butter masala..two piece each in only one dish. Today I have ordered one chicken korma and butter nun.... butter nun was too good but the chicken korma was worst.... the chicken was totally rotten. Bad smell was there and unable to eat... I am very disappointed.

If someone is looking for good food in reasonable price then this is definitely your cup of tea. This is place is having really a friendly atmosphere and the staffs are also good. I had veg fried rice and Schezwan chicken (less spicy- and that too on my demand) which tested superb.

I had ordered Afghani chicken and what turned out was that the chicken pieces were not washed properly and had blood oozing out of it. The restaurant should ensure food is cooked properly. Really bad experience. Will not order food from Tollygunge branch of Azad hind dhaba.

Nice family restaurant with great taste and quality in affordable price. If you eat here they will give a plenty of food specially rice or biriyani but for delivery they give little bit less than that.

Went for a dinner tonight. It was my aunt's birthday. It started by the ac's not working. We changed place thrice. After that there was a fan placed. Going forward we order a fish item, quantity wise it was the worst (entire food we ordered), fish was stale and lastly the behaviour of the waiter my god, he misbehaved so badly as if he was giving us the food for free. Refused to serve the food saying he might drop the food on us purposely. Never visit this place. I wish i could use abusive words here. P.S my mood was spoilt i didnt click much pictures.

Can't tell about the food taste as i never get the food for the delivery boy who might be hungry and didn't got any money and instead of delivering ate my food. his name was biswajit das 9836043291 was his number filed a complain in consumer forum and to zomato if anything happens good or lets see where i can go and the delivery guy attitude superb anyway guys maybe i can taste the food next time. The kulcha was so fluffy, it contained potato that it shouldn't have in it and please apply some butter on the kulcha. And for ur kind info i have ordered masala kulcha but the one u sent was not spicy even a bit. So please consider this for the next order.

I ordered Mutton Biryani from this restaurant. The quantity of each plate was sufficient for one person. There were two pieces of mutton and one piece of potato in the biryani. The biryani tasted nice but it lacked the authentic aroma. The flavour was mild. The biryani was a bit dry, that is it was not that oily as a biryani is supposed to be. But overall this biryani is really healthy and a good way to satisfy your cravings without intaking too much calories. The price was very much reasonable, one plate of mutton biryani costed Rs. 165/- .

I had ordered two food and chicken Biriyani and another is gravy noodles. The food was worst and quality and quantity wise chicken Biriyani was just least and worst. And gravy noodle was horoable this was just normal chowmin with gravy. Don't waste your money to order from this store<br/>

Ordered Mutton Keema and tandori roti, but keema was not available and they suggested Mutton Dopyaza...The quantity was suffecient for two and tasted good..Roti could have been a bit soft...would like to try their mutton keema and chicken bharta...Will upload the pic and review soon....

I ordered a mutton biriyani (2 pieces). Contradictory to the name, there was no mutton in it, rather there were 2 bones with a bit of meat attached. The meat and potato was undercooked and also the quantity was insufficient.

Food is good for its price. Kadhai chicken is a must try. Staff is very dull. Situated on main road. Good for a pocket friendly dinner with family or snacks with friends.

Today's order was timely delivered and everything's good except malai kofta. Its absolutely rotten. This was supposed to be my favourite one but I'm absolutely unhappy. I need my money back.

This place has become very risky these days ... we tried a dinner last night and came out with a near food poisoning experience. The food taste has gone down over the years and the Biryani served was uneatable ... hugely soaked in Keora water. Had some bad experience in recent past. Will never visit the joint again.

This is one of those places that we have frequently eaten out at during our college days. There was a huge craze when this outlet opened so near to our home however, over time the place hasn't been able to maintain their quality or status. So now it is an average place for Mughlai cuisine. We ordered the Azad hind special mutton and Rumali roti and to go with that Chicken Biryani. Coming to the Mutton, it was really nice and is a must try. The chicken biryani however was a disaster and both of us couldn't finish even half the plate and not because we were full. So I mean you can visit and pick and choose your dishes and you might have a good time.
