This Coffee House is basically dedicated for coffee lovers and Gourmets . Budget friendly place with traditional seating facility and service also is good.If you like to hangout then this is the right place.Dont expect in Rs 20 Tata Starbucks or CCD coffee friends every place has its own unique features. Situated near Chandni Metro station. This place is run by Coffee board.

This place has been on my check list for IDK how long, but every plan to visit here somehow got cancelled. Finally I got to visit and my experience was great. They don't have much variety of food on offer, but whatever they have on their menu, those items tastes great. Sometimes simple food is better and this place is one of those places where one can relax and enjoy some time alone or even with company. Coffee was good, I really enjoyed the toast and omlette. They have sandwiches too. Overall, do give this place a visit as its location is super convenient and one can relax here after going around chadni market or E Mall. 5/5 for service 5/5 for cleanliness, especially during this pandemic situation. I'll surely visit again.

I visited India Coffee House places , Kolkata you can take metro also to came here neta ji bhavan is the nearest metro station and also visit neta ji house 👍 I liked their setting, their cold coffee with ice cream. I don’t remember what if any I ate there. Could have been a masala dosa in those days. Not sure. But I would definitely recommend them for their coffee it's will cost you around 55rs

This is a wonderful and historic place. A small outlet of the iconic College Street Coffee house but with more spacious seating and courteous staff. The food is moderately priced and is tasty and healthy. The cold cream coffee is worth a try and so is the chicken sandwich. This place also serves authentic coffee powder at cheap rates. Easily accessible from Chandni Chowk metro station.

It's a 'HOLI' day. So, no crowd and I was all alone.I tried coffee and an egg sandwich and both were awesome.

Spacious and airy building with very nice staff. They bring filtered water to the table before taking your order and give timely service. The coffee wasn't necessarily the best, but wasn't bad at all and was served very hot. We tried the egg sandwich too and this one was a little disappointing, because there wasn't that much egg inside and tasted quite dry. My friend had the cold coffee and cream and it looked tasty!

I visited this place 19 years ago. When I went to India for summer vacations at my grandparents residence. I enjoyed cold coffee.

This place is really clean and calm. Coffee price is reasonable.Other foodstuffs are also cheaper and satisfactory. They also sell packed coffee ,which is cheaper than the market price. This place is worth for a hangout .

One word fabulous! One of the oldest coffee house and it boast of its regal coffee making it a must visit for the kolkatans. Other snacks too ranks among the favourite. Crowded and thronged by people owing to its fooding. Located in the heart of city that's near to Chandni Chowk metro it is easily accesible thru various means. Love the food over there 👉 Go and check it out

Good black coffee. Nice place to chill. See menu below. Not to be confused with the classic *Indian* Coffee House! That is at: 15, Bankim Chatterjee Street, College Square
Shubhangi Biswas
Must try the chicken afghani here

The behaviour of the stuff was very rude. The atmosphere was very unfriendly. Bad place to go. Coffee wasnt good as well.

Room No 309, ANJANA DAS
Smokey, stuffy, crowded, bad service yet it is famous, just because some legendary singers and actors have mentioned or been here once upon a time. Go there if you're a DSL guy or gal! Great place for wannabes. Yes ,the food sucks. The coffee sucks. Pretty much everything sucks. All the best have fun.

Well you can only compare apples to apples. So don't compare coffee from here to some big chains.
At such moderate rates you get to sit 'n' number of hour's sipping somewhat watery but decent coffee.
Also they have sandwich and toast to company your coffee.

Had tried veg sandwich, which had bread> cucumber>bread | bread>tomatoes>bread.

All the waiters are old and behave like Sarkari Babus.... You have to wait for minimum 20 minutes to even get a glass of water. And if you are a new customer then no one will pay any heed to you at all.

Just beside the Chadni Chawk Metro Station, its a big place inside unlike what it seems from the outside. Although, not as cosy as the original coffee house, it is a fantastic place for Adda with friends or your partner. You can just order a coffee, sit back, relax and chat for long. The coffee isn't special but its okay given the price. If you value spending a quality time talking to anyone more than the coffee, this is the right place for you.
Adv Krishnaditya Chakraborty
A legendary place situated just opposite to hindustan building in c r avenue, neet and clean, pockt friendly and good place for snacking. Adda zone for office goers and students. Just take a coffee and sandwich and relax from your busy run for an hour..

I don't know why there is so much negetivity in the comments . They charge only 20rps for a good quality coffee , It still retains the kolkata ambience . Whenever I visit this place I find I extremely peaceful and soothing . The staffs are well behaved and the place is so clean even !

An age old name but I was little disappointed. No match to the original coffee house in College Street. The menu here is extremely limited and doesn’t give u any options. Ordered chicken sandwich. The bread was not toasted .. I mean there’s no concept of toasting here. Plain bread cut into 2. Then some butter and shredded chicken. Your chicken sandwich is ready. And this costs 45/- . The black coffee along with it was just as it should be. The only positive probably will be that u can sit here with a cup of coffee as long as u want and no one will bother you.

Indian Coffee House, located in the College street , this legendary outlet is all about nostalgia, memories and adda over a cup of coffee. It certainly helps that they don't just serve coffee at Coffee House but also cater to stronger needs for food with their lunch menu

This is one of the places in Kolkata which retains the age old reputation for serving excellent quality food at the minimal of charges. When it comes to pricing of food, Indian Coffee House totally kills it. Food quality is undoubtedly excellent. The mouth watering cuisines, their age old famous coffees and the excellent ambience is just too good. Here you can find people from all age group, school students to service men to retired person, sitting and chatting with their friends. I take away one star just because the food takes too long to come to your table , but I would say that..... It will be worth the wait.

I love the authenticity and atmosphere. Even if it's crowded and noisy, the ambiance takes my heart away. I always order infusion and chicken chowmein. Will visit it soon ! ♄

always a pleasure to come to them for their amazing food. they have lived this long enough to serve not only food, but culture, history and has a definite aura to it as always.
Shreya Bhattacharya
Pocket friendly. It serves better coffee than Indian coffee house. I had different sandwiches at different visits. Quality of food will definitely sooth your taste buds. Ambience is nice. This place is suitable for daily commuters.

This basically is my after office hangout joint.
I come down mostly for the ambience and for those old moments i've spent here.
The food options aren't much here.
The food is somewhat okay.
nice place for coffee lovers.don't have a variety of coffee but whatever it has it can satisfy a hardcore coffee lover. don't have a variety of side dishes. and average place to hangout. Pakhi

Want a calm place to take rest ? Then this place is perfect for you but in terms of eating their makings are so not good.We ordered for chicken sandwich and cold coffee with cream. The breads were not toasted neither it had suffecient amount of chicken and their so called cold coffee with cream will not be a good choice because it actually had no cream in it.So I won't suggest this place to any food lover because their servings can spoil the functioning of taste buds. But, want to have an evening coffee?...then I can say - "yes may be."
Subhadeep Dey
A perfect place if you need to kill some time by not spending much! But the problem is I find this place closed at most times, but recently they stay open during the afternoon and evening time, and was able to visit once. Tried the chicken sandwhich and coffee, not extraordinary but ok for the price, and also tou can soend as much time as you like with tour friends or work!

The place is located in the main road. Not too many options to serve. The coffee is good if you are a true coffee lover with bitter taste. the sandwich here is plain one and not grilled. It will satisfy one person. It's cheap and affordable. It's an option for snacks but not for food lovers.

Well the place is much much much better than its counterparts in College Street or Jadavpur. It is spacious, neat and tidy with polished, new interiors and looks more like an mnc office canteen than like Indian Coffee House. The food range however is abysmal. They provide the tiniest sandwiches at 40 rs.Which isn't at all worth it.There is a serious need to upgrade the menu, otherwise this new version of the Coffee House will lose the little customer base it has now.

Today we visited this place after office hours with craving for a cup of hot coffee and some snacks. We ordered two plates of toast and omlates along with two cups of coffee. After 15 minutes when we asked the waiter he told that the omlates are ready and breads are being toasted which will take some time. After some time the order was served and it was cold omlates and toast. A single omlate consists two eggs which was not told to us. When we again asked the waiter and said that the omlates are cold he started arguing badly. When we wanted to talk to the Manager he completely ignored us and didn't bother to know what has happened. We told the waiter that the coffee should be hot and then while serving the coffee he said very circustically that it's better you drink the coffee quickly or else don't complain that it's cold. Ridiculous waiter and management.. They are serving people and that too a food chain. The manager who was sitting there was very arrogant and ill-behaved. People reading this think twice before you step into this place. Another awesome thing is they make omlates with cumin seeds which i had never before. A very very bad experience for us and as a result this is our last visit to this place. If india coffee house management is reading this then please take necessary actions against your manager who sits in the counter. The waiter with a big mustache never offers the menu card to customers and argues a lot. I am also attaching our bill.

The place has been renovated recently. Service was good. I ordred a cold coffee. It was quite bland. Though i liked the strong aroma. Ambience was peaceful, one can actually spend a lot of time there with only one order.

Wanna some refreshment at a knock down price. Come on in. Nice place. No pom-pom and feels good. Bonus, you could learn a lot about coffee. Wish Tea Board had something similar. Try the non-instant coffee and its another world.

You enter a time wrap , greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. A brief no-frill menu but super service along with a pocket friendly prices. Highly recommended joint in the heart of Kolkata.

Coffee was not at all great but snacks were surprisingly good . ordered sandwiches ,pakoda and Coffee but Coffee was disappointing . Ambience is like good old big banquet full of tables , not very old though . Good place to visit if You are nearby and need to wait for someone or something .

I love how homely the place is. The people behave really well with us and it feels great. The chicken sandwich is a must. The cold coffee is amazing

Food quality has deteriorated over the years but the nostalgia and the memories of Indian Coffee House will be intact. A perfect place for college students.. pocket friendly but they really need to look after their food quality.

Great stuff. Very reasonable.
Simplistic decor. The food is much better than the coffee house in college Street. This is an Indian coffee board initiative. You can sit here for hours without much intervention.

Has great coffee. Love the cold coffee here.

The Heritage of Old Kolkata rather old India reflects with the eye of India Coffee House. Nothing more to say about this legendary place. And yes, kudos to Zomato for adding the all this all time best in it's map.

India Coffee House is located close to Chadni Chawk Metro. Well the place is old, but not as old as the Coffee House in College Street. I been here once to have a cup of coffee with a friend. It has a big area with lot of table and chairs. Coming to the food, the Coffee was excellent. We then took a egg sandwich with it, which also tasted good.
Ambiance is nice.
Prices pocket friendly.

I do not know what to write about it. Each time I make up my mind to visit this place it remains closed following no trends whatsoever! I have made immense visit to the area only to find the shutter down. Even yesterday, I made a visit and found it to be closed at around 5 in the evening. Luck!

This place located in the prime business district of the city puts those swanky coffee places in their place with its size and the great stuff it serves and at a reasonable price too.

Highly Recommend not to waste your tongue taste.

Rate is cheap but the taste is just YAK.
Railway station cofee is far better then this.
Not regreting the money wasted.
Ordered one Cold cream coffee at first it was Yak Af then ordEred for. a normal coffee it was the same..
I would suggest people not to go
INDIA COFFEE HOUSE is strictly a place to just sit,, complete some pending work,, or at most have a conversation with ur "not so favorite"/ casual frndz [please dont bring ur best /good/close/special friends here,] while sipping ( read tolerating) some "not so good coffee" at cheap prices..

Its no fun place! Rather,
A dull and bouring place..
But in chadni chowk,, if u want some cheap coffee at cheap prices.. Then give it a try..
The place has no a.c
After trying their coffee(read hot water 99% coffee 0.5% and 0.5% milk) i am sure u will not dare to try their "sandwich" menu

But still if u HAVe to eat.. Go for their pakoras,, a little less pathetic than their sandwich menu.. Plz avoid their sauce..

Basically, its a big hall where chairs and tables are arranged in a order with no decor ,, in a dull way..
Its a place to land ur ass on the chairs
And just sit.

I can bet with you guys their â‚č 20 coffee is way better then any other most famous cafĂ© chain's. Situated near E Mall. Big place with large no of tables to sit which were properly arranged but sad part is most of the time it was nearly empty. Ambience was really good. Hospitality was very nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service and good presentation. Pocket friendly and cheapest price on compare to taste, quality and quantity. I had their Coffee it was heavenly Delicious. One of the Best coffee I've tried so far. And I also tried their Onion pakoda they were also superb tasty. Must try place. Personal favorite. Totally loved it. Highly recommended to all.

Feeling nice to write the first review on India Coffee House . Franky speaking I find it better than the congested Indian Coffee House of College Street. In the claustrophobic world of Self Marketing and Promotion high voltage food bloggers have skipped this aged old place and I found very odd when I tried to add review and photos of this joint. After several mails and conversation almost after 1 and half month this Beautiful Place has been added in Zomato listing. Thanks Zomato for giving value to my observations. One place I really like to go for breakfast is India Coffee House. They open shop sometime between 10.30 to 11.00 am in the morning. What I like about the place is the feeling that you are walking into an Old India. The place looks really old and you will find people sipping coffee and reading the papers, a true coffee shop experience which most other coffee shops have missed. There’s no distracting crowd and if you want to have a wonderful conversation early in the morning, this is an excellent place to do that. This place is good value for money, and everything is pretty cheap. Quality coffee at one of the most crowdy area near Chandni and Esplanade is great Deal. You couldn’t get cheaper than this. The only thing to probably look out is for the waiters are sometimes impatient. They would want you out of the restaurant as soon as you have finished your food because they want to serve as many customers as they can, obviously for the tips. To make sure you have a wonderful time at the Coffee House , it’s a good idea picking a seat where you can see the road. It’s simply beautiful just looking out of the window into the sidewalk and the trees across the road. But overall, it’s a wonderful place to take a friend out for breakfast. Nothing better than just sipping coffee and having a wonderful conversation. Enjoy yourself.
