Very amazing place to hang out both with friends and alone. Food is very affordable and really tasty. Have been there earlier too and the experience was great. This time too, it was amazing. The ambience is very cozy and nice. Staff members are also very hospitable. Do recommend you to visit here if you're in the area.

It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Foods are also amazing. Specially Choco frappe. Tried a pizza which was also good in taste. Staff are friendly and service was good.

Loved the peach iced tea,and garlic bread . But cold coffee was too sweet, served at normal temperature and service was slow. Ambience is lovely and aesthetic. Drinks are pocket friendly. Amicable staffs. Overall good experience in a pocket friendly price.

Food quantity and quality are both equally good... Choco cake Frappe is a must try there. There's a little space crunch problem. Other than that the ambience is also peaceful.

The place could do with more space given the crowd that arrive here. I'd suggest a few more couple tables. The service was adequate. Low on staff when I visited. Hopefully that's not the case everyday. The food is oh-so-good! I was a bit skeptical with the prices, but no matter. It was a good investment especially on the pasta and the fish fries that we ordered. I'd recommend visiting this place for the iced teas.

Small cafe but perfectly well decorated. Beautiful Ambience. Sittings are themed like park benches. I recommend this place for morning peoples, who go for morning walk or like that. Perfect for friends, Couples.

My go to cafe for the past 3 years. The Chaiwala has always been my favourite being just 20mins from my home. Coming to food : Do try their pasta, pizza, bhetki fish fry and chicken wings. Use swiggy dineout for 10-15% extra discount. Service sometimes becomes slow when it remains understaffed. 20-25mins for a dish to serve. Good for a quick meetup :)

Great food, great prices. Would recommend the buffalo wings and the waffles. Nice little place tucked in a small lane in tollygunge. Pretty nice for hanging out with friends or for dates.

Beginning from the ambience and food to the staff behaviour, the cafe is at its best. The place has a perfect aesthetic decor with soothing vibes of a cafeteria. Place is quite small compare to other cafes but well decorated place to spend quality times with friends and family. Many options to choose from, food wise. Pocket friendly. The staff behavior was good but expect much more professionalism from them. We ordered Oreo Frappe (5/5) (Perfect drink to spice the mood). french fries (4.5/5) cheese sandwich (4/5) spanish omelette (2/5) (not that much tasty and also a bit over priced) choco walnut pot cake(3/5)(The taste could be much better but the quantity is sufficient for 2 person) Food Decoration is very good.The place is affordable and can be visited for casual hangouts.My attention were drawn by the pair of salt-and-pepper shakers on our table, custom made and shaped like a pair of logs. Overall my verdict is that The Chaiwala is a decent place to indulge in some fresh and flavoursome cafe food and goodies. Some item may disappoint, and also staff behaviour but others totally make up for it.

Finally visited this place. Loved the ambience and the interiors. The staff were very friendly. The burgers were just perfect. The soy honey chicken wings were finger licking. A cosy place in da heart of a busy place..this place is a revelation amidst chaos.. Reasonable pricing..homely environment and witty decor..the place speaks for itself.. The only recommendation is introducing "bhare cha" and that too within 20-25 bucks price range.. Only den it would be a proper tribute to the Kolkata chaiwala.. and would justify the name and essence of the place..

One of the best cafes I have been till date. Try going there on friday evenings because they arrange for a stand up comedy show by wonderful young people. Very well decorated and you can feel a tinge of the funkiness, to be precise the presence of colourful bottles, painted kettles and huge clocks made it very interesting to look at. Food and service was excellent. We ordered for a sandwich, a grilled burger, french fries and an icecream scoop. The best part is that the food is inclusive of tax and very pocket friendly. Definitely worth visiting. �

Yesterday was my first time at #TheChaiwala. Learnt about it from the newspaper. Loved the ambience! #ChocolateSmoothie, #ColdChickenSalad and #ChickenPopcorn were our orders. We were famished and I devoured the food!! Loved it! The best part is it is at a walking distance from my place. And, am happily ditching my old #addajoint for #TheChaiwala. P.S. Have been to both the outlets at Southern Avenue and Tollygunge. Good place for couples as it is quite and you will get to spend quality time too. Food is also good and you won't burn a whole in your pocket. Small and cozy inside with good ambience.

I have visited Chaiwala quite a few times, the ambience is very good and pleasant, staff behaviour is also friendly. I ordered 1 double Chco-chip frappe, 1 oreo frappe, 1 Honey BBQ Wings, 1 Chicken white sauce penne and 1 Nutella burst pan cake. Both the frappes were not bad not good also. Overpriced on the basis of taste, but the three main dishes were very good and tasty. Honey BBQ wing was quite differently delicious, chicken white sauce penne was quite good too along with the quantity. Two people can easily feed on it snd last but not the least the nutella burst pan cake was quite delicious and heavy. As a chocolate fan I can suggest this dish to be my personal favourite. Overall experience was quite good. Food was tasty, though a bit pricy.

The Chaiwala, Tollygunge WAS one of my favorite places in town to have a nice hot cup of chai. Their ‘Chaiwala Special’ chaa which came with complimentary rusk biscuits, I believed had the most amazing aroma and the perfect blend of milk and sugar to kick away your Monday blues.<br/>We’ve visited this place multiple times pre lockdown and have always had a good time, hence my friend and I decided to go down to this place to have our favorite tea recently as we got a chance to step out of our house for some work and I must say, we were thoroughly disappointed.<br/>(Not just with the tea)<br/><br/>Okay, so this is how things went on<br/>At the entrance, after the usual thermal check and applying sanitizers on our palms, the lady asked us to close our eyes. To our not so pleasant surprise, she sprayed Savlon on our clothes and I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I say, we literally were bathed in it from our upper to the lower half of our body.<br/>I understand these aren’t usual times and this could be termed as ‘precautions’ but, consent.<br/>We should have been informed and asked before doing the same, I might just have my own reservations about applying antiseptic on my clothes.<br/><br/>What was contrastingly weird, is the fact that they circulated the same sheet of paper on every table for the online menu, doesn’t that spoil the whole bathing purpose?<br/>Nevertheless, we ordered what we came here for, but alas, the taste wasn’t the same anymore. It tasted too milky and didn’t have the same smell or the taste that it used to have.<br/>After a while, we ordered 2 more cups of it, which were slightly better but still wasn’t close to how it used to be.<br/>Also, there were no rusk biscuits this time.<br/>(Okay, cost-cutting. Accepted)<br/><br/>Now comes the billing part.<br/>In the bill, they’ve added a ‘COVID Special Service Charge’ of Rs. 50. <br/>Again, I know these are difficult times but a mandatory Rs. 50 on every bill isn’t something that could be justified here.<br/>The lady came in with the pin pad machine and asked me to insert the card for the payment which makes me touch the pin pad(if hygiene is what they’re looking for) and in the end, we were asked to dump our plates and glasses inside the garbage bag while leaving.<br/><br/>The point here is, Rs. 50 might not be that big of an amount, but I couldn’t find an inch of the service aspect of the ‘service charge’ that was mandatorily levied on our bill.<br/>It would have been great if they justified the amount.<br/><br/>Being generous in giving it 3 stars for this experience, a 2.5 would have been perfect

I have visited here many times but after lockdown it's my first time i'have visited. They are maintaining every safety measurer as per the govn. Clean and calm ambience. But as per their portions they should reduce the price li'l bit.. Otherwise everything is good. Staff behaviours are also appreciable. Overall good experience except the price..

Well i visited this cafe few mnths back and really loved the ambience.The cafe seemed bit small but cosy, distinctive& idiosyncratic wooden interior😍😍In and out sitting available. So Ordered Chicken Schezwan Penne Pasta worth Rs175 and for coffee paid Rs150 (excluding GST). Well-Maintained quality and quantity✔✔ The perfect balance of flavours in penne was really appetizing😍😍 .. 5stars seemed less to demonstrate my emotions towards this cafe☺☺.. This restaurant is really a gem in this area. Even I would like to say that among all the cafes, this is one of the best. Ambience was quite good. The behaviour of the staffs were so friendly. Come to the main point, food. Trust me, it is just woowwwww!!! I think I have tasted the best choco walnut pot cake in this place and it is huge, easily can eat by 2-3 persons. Along with that, the sandwich was also good in taste. Compare to the food and their quality, I would say that their price is relatively chep than other cafes. Overall my experience is fantastic. I think that I will go very soon once again.🙂

The waiter requested for a review so politely that I couldn't ignore. It was my 2nd visit so obviously I liked the place. Easy to locate, chilled out ambience, well crafted menu and the nice behavior of the staffs. Both times we had honey ginger tea. Ham, egg & cheese bake burger was worth mentioning. Also try honey BBQ wings.

Place started off good, but after my recent visit, I am not at all satisfied. First of all, special preferences are being given to actors where one person is occupying a table of 4 but 3 persons are being told to adjust or place is full. Ordered normal tea, where they use clay cups like local tea shops, except they keep on reusing the same cups. The cup we were served in smelled like public toilet. Overall, not at all satisfied. Just a suggestion to the management, treat all your customers in the same way, it's not only the so called celebrities who are contributimg to your profit. Don't hope to visit again anytime soon..

Loved the white picket fence, and beautiful wall art! The coffee and cookie was the standard deliciousness you get at every chaiwala outlet. The burger was slightly disappointing (especially considering the price), the fries not as crisp as I would have liked. The place setting looked slightly more cramped than the other outlet. Other than that, a good place to spend a while.

Good location but the space is small. Tried cheese tomato corn sandwich and masala fries, both of which were not up to the mark.

Have visited place quite a number of times. The ambience is nice but the discussion is very small. There are comedy show on Fridays and the cafe remains crowded. The chicken mozzarella fritters tastes good and is served with some great dips. However the drinks are very sweet even when asked to make less sweet. The masala French fries taste good. The price is moderate. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating options. Good for spending time with friends.

We'd heard a little too much about The Chaiwala, and hence made our first visit. It is tucked into Graham's Lane, a small, cozy cafe with quite remarkable decoration. The food we ordered came in sumptuous amount. The quantity was excellent, a little too generous than what I'd expected, but by the time we had the dessert, it was time to doubt our goodwill about the place. The brownie and ice-cream that we ordered- the brownie was undoubtedly stale, and tasted nothing good. It was indeed, very underwhelming to end the meal on such a disappointing note.

We ordered hot chocolate and fried chicken sausages.. the hot chocolate was really delicious .. it had a really rich taste without any form of dilution whatsoever .. the sausages were a bit on the salty side but overall dipped in mayo it tasted good.. the ambience was extremely warm and cozy.. the staff were very courteous .. As I was searching for a good place around Tollygunge, I stumbled upon this place and looking at the rating and reviews of this place, i decided to give it a try. This is situated in a small lane near tollygunge. Upon entering the place, the wooden seating and quirky decor kind of intrigued me. The menu card had amazing options to choose from and each dish was described vividly . We ordered two cappuccino , white sauce chicken pasta and chicken burger. The cappuccino came in no time accompanied by a cookie . I loved the cappuccino.<br/>White sauce pasta was an absolute hit for me. The sauce was perfect and the pasta was cooked right too.Burger came with a serving of french fries. The patty of the burger was juicy and flavourful. Overall all the items were great in taste. The staff was very welcoming and service was super quick too. Looking forward to my next visit.

The most likeable thing about this place is the generous behaviour of the staff. Apart from that the food served was pretty good and we were filled upto the brim. But the prices were a over the top for a coffee shop to have.

I've been here a couple of times but never got around to reviewing the place. The quality of the food has only continued to improve since. The portions are adequate and the staff is always checking in on our needs.

This is a wonderful small cafe situated in the bylanes of "Tollypara " One minute walk from Indrapuri studio. As one walks in one is sure to find people occupying tables from different walks of life and they are not just the cafe loving youngsters but also office goers who loved some old Kolkata evening adda over a cup of tea or cappuccino and some sandwich.<br/><br/>As I walked in with my friend, a very courteous service staff warmly welcomed us showing the seats. He was with us through out our ordering and guided us about the pricing and portion accordingly.<br/>As we got little inclined towards the name of the cafe we ordered for one full pot Darjeeling tea sufficient for two people. While we were seated on the wooden chairs and admiring both the tea and the decor, we ordered for a Grilled Cheese and Chicken sandwich with added mushroom. One can clearly understand from my pictures that one portion is more than sufficient for two people. It had chicken chunks, bell peppers, onion mushroom cooked nicely to add cheese and thereafter grilled with oil brushing all over it.<br/>Next was the showstopper of the evening the Penne pasta in Cheese sauce with Chicken and mushroom. On request for customisation they added extra cheese and the mushroom. The pasta was sufficient enough for two of us. It had carrots, bell peppers, onion and served with dry Rosemary dressing and coriander for decoration. This is another pasta joint in the city for the all the pasta lovers. The taste was so heavenly that we licked the bowl to utter embarrassment.<br/>To finish we were highly impressed by the hospitality, the ambience and of course the food. There are two elements of the service which was extremely cute, were the small log shaped salt and pepper bottles on the table and the bill holder which was a straw box.<br/>Would highly recommend this cafe for its pasta. Surely coming back again.<br/>Wish them all the gastronomic success for future! I ordered mashed potatoes and chicken cheese white sauce pasta. Just want to know how a person shall have those on road without cutlery. Their reason of not serving is avoiding plastic, which is good, but what's the other option in place of that. You guys are pretty expensive therefore you should also take care of these things. Not expected.

Good ambience with finger licking food and smoothies. It is one of the hatke cafes in this city. We had chicken wings, burger n pasta and all were yummy.

I had to wait for some one for couple of hours, so walked into a nearby cafe after searching in zomato. But it turned out to be a great experience in this small junction.<br/><br/>I ordered their special tea, which comes with two complimentary toast biscuits. It was mild strong, perfectly sweet, milk is on thicker side.<br/><br/>Though I was not hungry, still my greed towards trying new places won and ordered one double decker grilled chicken burger. House made juicy chicken patty was amazing to taste. Barbeque sause was the winner along with the melting cheese. It's looks so appealing while served with ketchup and french fries.<br/><br/>Wooden seat was comfortable, but good music was missing and the noisy staffs were too loud with their gossips. I have been going to Chaiwala for over three years now. Funnily enough, this has been my favorite place to hangout with my boyfriend, still is, always will be. It's almost as if we never want to visit other Cafe's.<br/>The service has surprisingly maintained consistency over the years.<br/>And for broke souls like me, it's a great place with pocket friendly food. Like you can have a good meal for two under 300 INR if you know what to order.

Small outlet with a outstanding varieties of food. The price is also reasonable. I visit this place quite often mostly cause of their Burgers. So tender n crispy chickrn patty with Cheese n salad topping. AMAZING .

If you are wondering where to go for the first date or you're meeting a friend over coffee and some finger foods, this place is the SOLUTION. Since this place is quite near to mine, I visit there often. <br/>Some of their best: American chicken wings( you'll want more. It's a cool place actually ! I really liked the ambience. The food was decent though, not finger licking good. I didn't like the long wait times although i understand it takes time to make good food. What I loved was the dessert actually. It was the hazelnut pot cake(I'm bad with names so can't remember) it's a must try. Go and have some nice food and a great time with friends !

The place is bit Cosy but I personally love the place... It has a good ambience... And food quality is really good... Way of welcoming taking care of the customers are noticible.

This is my second time here and I again loved the food and ambience. The staffs were also good. I am in love with this place. Price is also low according to the quality and amount of food. Absolutely in love with chaiwala.

A bit difficult to spot location wise, this cafe offers good pasta and some extra good iced teas. The place is however cramped up and the staff response is usually very slow. However, there is a table outside for people who like to have their tea/coffee while smoking.<br/><br/>USP - This place hosts comedy nights (possibly on weekends).

Have been here thrice. One of my favourite cafes in Kolkata. Food quality is also very good. Pocket friendly as well. I have tried their Penne pasta in Mixed Sauce, Penne pasta in Cheese sauce, Cold chicken salad, Cheese tomato and corn sandwich, Choco walnut pot cake with icecream, Oh! Oreo and a Mojito (don't remember which one). Both the pastas were too good. Salad and sandwich were also good. The cake and Oh! Oreo were yummy, feeling like having it again while writing 😛. I didn't like the Mojito much, it was okayish. Very well behaved and cooperating staff. Went for a quick food here and I didn't expect the experience to be so good. Me and my friend ordered Pasta. Chicken white sauce penne and Chicken mixed sauce penne. Both were fantastic and the behavior of the staffs was also very satisfying. I would recommend this to everyone. Located just opposite to the Indrapuri Studio at tollygunge.

Since Chaiwala was 2 mins walk away from my flat, this used to be my almost everyday’s adda place and trust me, food is yumm. My favourite was the hot chocolate and I can go there anytime for that. A must visit place.

Visited this place pretty long back and tried their chaiwala special. Really liked the quality of the tea, it’s aroma, the flavours. The place is very small but with cozy ambiance. the Sandwich served was also good. Overall liked this place and looking forward to visit again

This is my second time visiting this place and a first on writing a review.<br/><br/>Without much ado, let me jump right into the food section. The items we ordered:<br/><br/>1. Apple Synder Mocktail- We started off by ordering this mocktail. Though the taste isn't different from that of those sparkling apple juices, it does feel refreshing after you have a sip on a hot summer day.<br/><br/>2. Spicy Cheese chicken Sandwich and Egg Cheese Sandwich- Perfectly grilled sandwiches with the right amount of spice for the chicken one and cheese for the egg one that would satisfy anyone's hungry tummy.<br/><br/>3. Chicky popcorn- Finger food served with ketchup and mayo.Not much to say.<br/><br/>4. BBQ chicken wings- Again not much to say. It was okay.<br/><br/>5. Fiery Spetnaz Burger- The best one on this list. Filled with ample cheese and the right amount of spiciness this one was an absolute treat.<br/><br/>6. Belgian waffle with ice cream and maple syrup- Honestly thought this would be the cherry on top and it was until I found out that the waffle was too soggy for my liking. Otherwise I liked both the presentation and taste.<br/><br/>Overall the food managed to fill up my tummy and at the end of the day this is the only thing that matters :)<br/>
